I play both sides
So as a survivor:
If I wanted to play something like Assassins creed or Splintercell where I'm sneaky the entire time I'd play those games, not this.
Playing stealthy isn't that useful besides waiting out for hatch or waiting for your team to carry you by doing gens/keeping killer preoccupied.
You also don't score that much simply surviving.
As killer:
The stealth gameplay is the least fun part of the game honestly. You just feel like you are wandering around wasting time. A killer isn't obligated to find and kill everyone right away but it sucks having the first 5 minutes of a game be nothing accomplished (such as gens not being worked on).
It also sucks as a killer to have a survivor to scared to do anything get the hatch when the survivor didn't do anything to help their team and this penalizes the killers for a do nothing escaping
Either side:
It's just not really a fun way to play since it takes minimal effort and your survivor teammates also don't want you to be dead weight. Having a super stealthy teammate is honestly more of a hindrance than a dead survivor because a dead survivor at least makes hatch spawn faster
-
To be honest. DMC is not as well known to younger players. I (sadly and wish I could have) never got to play DMC and I'm in my late 20s. I imagine not many people younger than 21 know anything about DMC and those who do know the bastardized version. It's been a series that has loyal fans but if you missed the boat...you missed the boat.
I could see DMC skins getting in but not a full chapter
-
And it makes me feel like I'm going to have a heart attack lol
-
Id say rework if a killer just isn't fun (not necessarily strong or weak) but unfun to play against and as especially. Overall I'd say leave killers as is unless no one likes the killer regardless of strength

I get more annoyed with doctor sometimes honestly lol. So much intense music all the time!

That's rough. It sucks when you keep the killer busy and your teammates reward you by leaving and not considering that if executed properly you could have all left. Did the killer camp you? Cause if not it would have been an easier getaway and your team just sucked altruism-wise.
I find that those in higher ranks aren't that altruistic so I've come to expect little to nothing from them, so I don't know why last night had me grinding my teeth. This game used to promote altruism but with Yun Jin's perks and Trickster's perk Starstruck, they're more into encouraging solo play. Don't blame them.
The killer didn't camp me partially due to not having a chance to lol. My team left immediately as I got hooked and he left me to c go to the gates on the other side of the map, all of them fully healed.
Yeah I generally expect very little from teammates but this still surprised me that they made no effort to try when there was very little risk lol.
I wish the game rewarded you more for how your team overall does in order to encourage more cooperation instead of "man I hope my team dies so I can finally get hatch"
-
For survivors I think most likely candidates are Leon, Claire, Jill, and Ada.
Shortly after that I'd put Chris (he seems the least likely one in the whole series to play hide and seek tbh lol)
Next are all very unlikely people like Wesker, HUNK, Rebecca, Billy, Barry, and Luis.
Everything outside of those I don't see happening at all for survivors
For killers
Most likely people are Mrx and Nemesis with Birkin slightly after due to Blight kinda already being him (I'd love a Birkin Blight skin though),
After that I'd assume they would pull something from the original trilogy which just leaves Lisa Trevor (who I think would fit very well but im not super confident she would get in. She just isn't as iconic as the other 3) and Tyrant who is not all that interesting in comparison to Nemesis and Mrx. He is probably.more likely than Lisa though.
After that I'd say someone from Re4 or RE7 is not super probably but more likely than other games.
Anything beyond that I wouldn't expect getting in due to being less popular games/games that don't fit with the horror type theme the game is going for
-
That's like, his only unique quality tbh lol

NOED simply because I play solo and my teammates don't want to leave the gates to cleanse it or grab me. Had a game last night where I kept the Doctor busy for 2 gens, got sacrificed and camped. Could've been a win for everybody if my teammates cleansed it but they left. Lovely.
Yeah I had a game the other day with the same situation basically.
Ran pyramid head for 3 gens, got hooked. Two teammates had one hook and the other had 0. My team left immediately despite killer not having noed. Frustrating stuff

Definetly.
I do think they should try to make (especially as a killer) fun even if you aren't doing very well. Losing is one thing but losing and hating life is totally different.
-
Decisive strike, especially back when it was much more powerful. It was wayy too much of a crutch and I've purposely not unlocked it or used Laurie for years. It's a perk I think doesn't teach you hot to play well tbh. First start learning the game without second chance perks and once you get the hang of it start throwing in other second chance perks

It was designed in the 2016 era where survivors only lasted 60 seconds on the hook, so 30 seconds per hook phase, and even then it still only shortened the whole hook time by 9% or 5.4 seconds total. I mean sure, it reduced the chances of self escape on the initial hook phase so that survivors with Slippery Meat would have a higher chance at self escape on a basement hook, but still... With the addition of Deliverance, and how the current game operates, it was rendered even more useless than ever. If I were to tweak it, I'd make it this way:
Buff the perk to - Survivors have 3 less escape attempts, and sacrifice progresses 25% faster when hooked in the basement.
Explanation - 25% of 2 mins is 30 seconds, or subtracting 15 seconds from each hook phase so 45 seconds per hook phase total, adding in the fact that unless the survivors bring in Slippery Meat, they'll have to be rescued by their teammates... This makes being hooked in the basement a much more dire situation than current Monstrous Shrine.
As mentioned above, Sometime after Hag came out the devs doubled the hook time from 1 min to 2 meaning survivors used to only have 30 seconds per hook phase, And current monstrous Shrine was designed with these the old timings in mind but was still underwhelming even back then. This suggestion is a sort of middle ground between how hooking used to be in the early days of the game, and how it is now, while only applying to the basement hooks, and finally giving Monstrous Shrine the buff it needs to be a threat that creates urgency to survivor team.
I could be into this. Yeah I thought it was based on old hook mechanics.
I would honestly similar double the current percentages and make them applicable for all hooks. It would still potentially need a buff tbh

Why do you run Bamboozle, NOED, Lightborn and Franklin's on every killer? I mean, I saw Iron Maiden and Sloppy in there, but don't you have like any other perks?
I mean, it's not like that's inherently wrong or anything, just... why?
Sloppy is the only one I could see pote ntially running on most killers but the rest....nahhhh for me. Bamboozle is a distant second most likely
-
Pleassseee.
I took a break right after Legion came out and came back to find that only 3 of the killers in those 2 years are all that console friendly and some of some are kind of questionable lol
-
@TWiXT said:
For me it's hands down... Monstrous Shrine!
You go to all that trouble to hook someone in the basement, and all it does is take away 10.5 seconds out of their 120 seconds on the hook. ######### even is this perk? That's only 5.25 seconds per hook phase, that doesn't create any urgency for the survivor team whatsoever, it's just useless!
I can't believe this perk hasn't been messed with at all. It's a cool idea but is terrible in application

Actually I'm confused where you got your numbers from because last time I saw the devs release statistics about kills it averaged between 2 to 3 kills, not a solid 50%. The person you're responding to seemed to have a more accurate percentage of about 2 kills and sometimes 3, as opposed to simply 2.
No, the percentages given indicate that 3 kills are more often than 2 kills. I wasn't meaning exactly 2k but much closer to 2 than 3 whereas 65-75% would be weighed to 3ks being more often than 2ks. "2 kills, sometimes 3" would be more like 50-60%.
It's not a huge deal, but to say killers more often than not get 3ks just isn't accurate and if that were true all killers would be getting nerfs like freddy

I can assure you, you most certainly CAN choose to hit that report button, and leave a comment. There is absolutely nothing preventing you from doing so.
I guess I should of clarified that yes you can but it's a waste of time and you can actually get yourself banned making bogus reports (as for something they have made clear to be allowable for ages)
-
Admittedly I've done this against a 4 swf team ultra altruistic who all have DS, BT, and Flashlights who kept unhooking right in front of me. That gets really old.
Generally though I hate slugging out but I can understand situations of using it

You most certainly can report them - for holding the game hostage, for toxic gameplay.
You can't. The devs and mods on here have said numerous times that it's acceptable to do. It's a waste of time reporting. The argument is that it doesnt keep the game hostage since the game will still end eventually.

Yes, because killers needs a momentum to improve their 65-75% killer rate
Id love to know where you got those numbers since the average is 2k for the best killers besides freddy according to the Devs themselves (and Freddy is getting nerfed now anyways)

Or, better yet, have totem perks not active at the start of the game. Have killers go around and place them on dull totems. This would prevent them being gone immediately as well as add a more in-depth mechanic.
Id only be into this if they slowed down the beginning some. Gens already get done very quickly that adding more things to slow down killers momentum is not good

Yep in the endgame BT its like a free "get out of jail card" its a guaranteed escape and the killer can't do anything other than whatch them bodyblock and go. I won't have any problems againts this perks if it would deactivate in endgame, would be fair in that way. But it looks like for the devs it's not enough with DS that they also give survivor BT in endgame to secure that escape.
And they are thinking on buffing that perk now, nerfing stealth killers. This is really not the way the game should take. BT should have a downside at least, deactivate in the endgame or have a trigger condition like many killer perks. I will never understand why the devs give perks to survivors that require 0 effort.
I play survivor too and as a survivor i find it really boring to have perks that give so much and take nothing. Thats why i only play solo to have at least a little challenge, and still its nothing compared to playing killer.
Yeah BT is going to be worse than DS was tbh. I've been into the idea of it being split into 2 perks (one pre last gen and the other being only after last gen). It serves a similar purpose to DS but has multiple triggers and will always trigger regardless of what a killer does beyond wait it out. I'm not a fan of no effort perks that nullify what the other side does
-
Mine all kinda just stayed bad... lol (Clown, Myers, Wraith slightly better) which makes playing as them not as fun as I'd like.
I still have PH though so thats nice

Again... You're faster than them... Go around.
You don't seem to understand how bodyblocking works. By definition you are blocked by the invincible player so you can't maneuver properly
-
@Zixology said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2140743#Comment_2140743
It's also only 12 seconds. People wait out BT all the time and the patch will make it shorter. How's that not "winning" against body blocking?
It's primarily an issue once exits are opened or someone has hatch with key. It makes the end game rather pointless as killer. If survivor unhooks their teammate and has BT there isnt really a reason to try because of bodyblocking, BT, and the other survivor will get a speed burst from one hit anyways
-
@Irisora said:
I don't really despise any killer perks since most of them are balanced and the rest slightly weak. I can't say the same for survivor perks through.
Yeah I totally agree with this
-
@Zixology said:

Even better tbh.
Here's another counter... You're the killer. You move faster than the survivors. Run around them.
You can't with body blocking. That's the whole reason why this is a topic
-
Noed, not because I dislike Noed but I dislike how scared my team gets with it. As soon as noed triggers and you get downed you will not be saved no matter what. Come on, you can unhook one of your 3 teammates guy
I think noed is fine but hate how teammates abandon each other sooo quickly
-
Make teabagging give killer a bloodlust tier lol.
Also, talking about plague made me think of the idea of her having a skin like Miley from Wrecking ball and carry around a small wrecking ball lol
-
Mori need a tweak for sure since all of them are not worth using. It would be much less of an issue if you performed just as well using them as not using them but you actually do worse using them which is badddd
-
One bounce should be base but maybe not two

I think it’s a glorious perk! Sometimes I run Franklins with Bubba and nothing else, then camp the item until it vanishes. I’ll give up ALL the gens to protect my new Ranger Med Kit!
I think it would be awesome if the killer did get to keep the items lol
-
Yeah both sides have BS, which is kind of the nature of the game. I do think killers often have to deal with more though
-
*moris are pretty much useless
-
Franklin's is the only counter to keys and it shouldn't be the only counter tbh.
Franklin's is fine and rarely relevant
-
I hardly ever play as Huntress and feel like the iri heads weren't THAT bad tbh. I think doing a 2 head base and 2 head cap makes a lot more sense. At this point, just remove them and add a different ultra rare. I don't see any reason to use them now lol

I wonder if STBFL and Rancor become a basekit. What will happen?
I think Obsession would become a main character in horror movie
I could see something being basekit, although probably not rancor at least. STBFL seems more realistic but still not super probable.
Maybe something like the killer gets buffs specific to the obsession, like the killer gets a slight movement speed boost against obsession in chase
-
Yeah I wish being the obsession had some natural downsides. It feels like it should tbh, aside from specific perks

Interesting

As it is now, there aren't counters

lol best answer so far. if killer say spirit is not easy i wonder how well they play other killer. I also thought i was good at playing killer too until i tried other killer. and judging for that i wont play spirit again.
Lol yeah I played a game with spirit after taking a break from the game for years (shortly after returning) and never played her in the past. Was getting pretty consistent 4ks without stridor and headphones lol
-
All you need is a good pair of headphones and stridor then you'll be an amazing spirit without much practice.
Even aside from that, she is a killer you have to ask the question of "when will she down me" unlike other killers you can ask "will they down me or will I escape?"

30. Monstrous shrine. Seriously devs its gone unchanged since 2016 and its been ######### the entirety of that time.
Yeah for real..m it just needs minor changes to be good
