I would have preferred he be made a trap killer and he places hook traps that hinder survivor movement when they pass by. But meh, I can wait to see how he preforms in three months, after they do their usual balancing for new killers.
-
Because it makes his body tingle with pleasure and can't contain it any more.

I feel that the animation for the mori needs a little something more. I am not sure what, maybe the survivor needs to struggle against the chains a little more? It just feels a little too fast.

I feel like you didn't really read the post, the idea that survivors have to cleanse every bone on every map every game just to counter the possibility of NOED is dumb, also yes just leaving is obviously the best thing to do but my point stands that the perk is extremely poorly designed
You don't have to cleanse every totem. You can make sure not to be in the killers cross hairs when the last gen pops and look for a lit totem.
Survivors have no "right" to win a game unless they escape out the exit gate or through hatch. Finishing generators isn't a guarantee of success. If it was, you'd be teleported out of the match when the last gen is done.
If the killer was bad, couldn't keep pressure and allowed you to easily finish gens, you have no reason to not be able to cleanse totems. If the killer kept pressure and made doing gens extremely difficult and got you all down with NoEd, he earned it.
If NoEd was nerfed or removed, survivors would have even less of a reason to cleanse totems, which is why it'll never go away.
-
I will too. I used to hate it since I started playing this game when they released the Stranger Things chapter and I got it often and I was super bad at the game and had no bushes to find comfort in. But as I am less bad, I've come to appreciate it and love it compared to maps like Midwich And Raccoon City Poop Department. I know a lot of people thought it was more killer sided, but I felt that it was rather balanced if you had decent, not great, but just decent teammates.
I also loved trying to get the killer to fall through a hole.

honestly, i would totally be down for them to just reskin the map to fit a different Killers theme who never got the chance to have their own realm.
though the general layout of Hawkins might be more fitting to be repurposed into the Blights secret laboratory, no?
I like my idea better, but I'm not against yours. As long as they repurpose it and we have more maps in the rotation, I am happy.
Though, I feel like a mansion with a small hidden laboratory would be better for Blight.

Thing is Bill and Ash beat the crap out of everyone in their respective games/movies too but they both are cool survivors which is why I choose Buffy. Drusilla or the Mantis monster would make for cool killers.
Just because they could make it work doesn’t mean they should. I can agree to disagree, but in the end, my personal opinion is they shouldn’t touch Buffy.
-
Their hands are probably tied by a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo and can’t really give more info.

And for those who don’t know a Paragraph Survivor is a licensed survivor like Bill & Ash that doesn’t come with a new map or Killer who usually don’t have a killer or map to go with them.
For Example, I think Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer would be an awesome addition to the Survivor Roster.

As much as I love Buffy, I don’t want her in this game. She’s supposed to be beating the crap out of the killer not running from them. I’d accept Xander or Willow, just not Buffy.
Drusilla would make a good killer if they give her a good power.
I recently found out Henry Cavill was in one of the Hellraiser films. I’d love a shirtless Cavill to be a survivor as long as he had at least double the current polygons so my eyes can be happy.

Bubbas and Tricksters have fair counter strategies. Just keep your eyes open and stay away from dead zones. If Bubba camps, rush gens.
Had a Bubba basement camp the first person they caught yesterday. Instead of my team doing gens, they went for the save. I focused gens and unlocked the door and left. The other three fed him easy kills.
Slugging is fine and easy to deal with. If your whole team got slugged, that’s on you and your teammates. You shouldn’t be grouping up together in the first place and you should be trying to move away so you can get pick up safely.
NoEd is easy to counter. You can also usually spot it a mile away just by paying attention to how the killer plays. You also have the option to open the gate and leave.
Using the tactics you mentioned and running NoEd doesn’t mean the killer doesn’t have skill, especially with today’s meta of rushing gens before the killer can get three hooks. If you can’t handle it, perhaps you’re just as bad as you think these killers are?

If you want to make survivors miserable, play as Twins and being a slugfest.
Ruin and Undying were the most common killer perks used.
There are two new blinding flash perks that came with the Resident Evil chapter. If you play killer, Lightborn is your friend. The aura reveal it gives you is really helpful as well. One perk lets them drop a flash grenade that works like fire crackers. The other allows them to place a grenade on a gen and it will go off if you kick it and you'll have to kick it again to regress it.
Trickster is meh and has annoying music.
More bugs and a terrible new map Racoon City Police Department. You will hate it.
Claudette got a sexy new hair style.

No, but I see why people think it is either way. Ik that the TV is an exact scene from the movie and ik its released in 1987, but there is just a lot of confusion rn and I really want it to be springtrap so I'm really hoping it's him and ik it's not going to be and I'm having an emotional breakdown because the devs won't give us answers and I just can't take it anymore I want to die
If being able to play a character has this much of an effect on you, going so far as wanting to die because you don't get an answer, you really should step away from video games and take the time to work on your mentality and perhaps seek help. It's a video game, it has no bearing on your life, unless you're a professional streamer, making a lot of money, otherwise, all it is is a waste of time.
-
I want it base kit so I can see the world burn.
-
I think the Devs would go for licenses that was generally wanted by the majority of the player base and not one that splits it in two. They'd want whatever character they bring to this game to appeal to as many people as possible, in order to make more money. I doubt they'd pick FnaF just due to the sheer amount of people who don't want it.
-
No, I like the penalty because it reduces the amount of times I have to play a match with only two or less teammates at 5 gens, only because the first person to go down, went down in 5 seconds and couldn't handle getting hooked.
-
I haven't had it happen to me, yet, but I always make sure to have Inner Strength ready for a quick heal and sneak away to do the rest of the totems just in case the killer is baiting us, in hopes to down us with NoEd. If my teammates are stupid enough to pop the last gen with no worries, I will leave them all to die.
-
@FatallyIconic said:
I'm happy with any amount of kills as long as I get a decent amount of hooks, chases, gen regression etc.
When I play killer or survivor I tend to play for points. Unfortunately, as much as I hate to do it, I am forced to slug survivors and tunnel when going against a 4-man SWF who rush gens (which happens a lot once I reach high MMR). This reduces the number of points I get significantly. The game just goes way too fast against an optimal SWF who prioritise generators. Slugging is almost necessary to slow the game down (as much as I hate doing it, and being on the receiving end as a survivor).
Don't beat yourself up about it. That's just how high level play is and it's what those players want. They're going all out to be as efficient as possible, you have to do the same to stand a chance.

@HollowsGrief said:
Do you consider it a win if you get all the gens done but die anyway? Me neither, same thing here. 2k is at best a tie but more often than not a lose. 3k with a hatch escape is really a 4k, 3k with one escape through the gates (gens powered not bs gate spawns after closing hatch) then i consider that a really good match and a win for me and the survivor who escaped.
I never said I considered it a win, I’m only asking if people are satisfied with a 2k if they had fun.
-
There are only a few times when I give up and stop trying. The first is when I get put on hook the first time and all I see are yellow auras crouched around doing nothing and I get to second stage.
I will also give up if it is obvious my teammates are toxic and trying to sand bag or body block me into a corner. I'd rather move on to the next match.
Finally, I'll give myself up at the end if it is down to two of survivors and more than one gen are needed and the killer is a really good killer with high mobility. Since I suck at looping, I'd rather give the other survivor a chance at the hatch.
-
@NoOneKnowsNova said:
If they escaped through gates then yes, if it was through hatch then no.
Yea, I agree with that, I actually forgot about hatch escapes, but I guess they are a necessary evil.
-
For me, it's a case by case basis. If my teammates were good during the match, didn't leave me on the hook for too long, did gens and not hide behind rocks, took hits and tried to take aggro, did sabo/pallet/flashlight saves, I don't mind dying for them in endgame.
If they were bad, I'll go pick up the key I found with Plunderers and say sayanora before the last gen is even finished if someone is dead.

Fair, I didn’t think of it that way. I feel like it’ll never be fair, but it’s too late to revamp the chase mechanics. What is a good idea to make it more interactive for both sides?
I feel like totems need to be more important, just to slow down the gens and release pressure from killers and help promote more chases with different survivors. Adding a new mechanic that requires survivors to search for parts and fuel before they can work on a gen could work, but then the devs will have to figure out how to balance killers so as to not make it easier to tunnel and camp. I have no idea what, but they really can't just outright stop the killer from doing so.

That is your point of view. And if you had a million hours, it is still just your opinion. I have a different opinion. Getting tunneled is as much the same as getting chased, as stealing is the same as robbery.
Btw I explained what other point of view there is as you didn't seem to understand or take into account that there are different opinions. Take it or leave it. My opinion is as good or bad as yours or anyone elses.
I am not sure why you think it is okay to just subordinate what what I think or like/dislike.
Maybe you should be aware, that if the game would not grant second chances it would be a 4K's all the time. Long story short: killer players won't have anyone to play against. That there are second chances is the reason why this game is kinda working. Though it's mostly 3K's in the stats cause they might have based the killers and survivors around a 2K but I guess that would be if everyone played fair.
You asked me if I even played survivor, so my hours apparently mattered. And no, it isn't just my opinion. The Devs have repeatedly stated that Tunneling and Camping are A-OKAY.
I never said that you had to like or dislike anything, I just said that it is a part of a game. In a game like this, you are going to have to face things you don't like. There is no workaround for it. If you can't handle that, you should consider finding a new game.
And I wasn't giving you my opinion, I was giving you the truth. My opinion is that tunneling and camping suck, for both parties, but its worse for the survivor receiving these treatments. But I am at least honest and understanding enough to know that it doesn't make them bad strategies.
I never said anything against having second chances and I agree, the game needs them, just as the killers need to be able to focus out a survivor. If a killer couldn't tunnel or camp, you'd no longer have very many killers playing the game and survivor queue times would go back to being 30 minutes or more for a match and the game would die.
You, nor I, get to decide on what fair game play is. The Devs do, and thankfully they know that it is impossible for killers to play according to what you consider is fair and have a shot at 4k, which every killer has a right to. To be clear, they have a right to aim for a 4k, not an inherent right to get a 4k, same as with survivors and escapes.

I do normally go after the unhooker or just slug the poor guy getting farmed. I am starting to feel as if that is just making the problem worst to be honest. It feels like they are doing it think they will be fine because I have to go after the unhooker and its more or less a free save
Yea, sometimes, especially if the farmer is really good, I'll rehook the farmed survivor out of spite because I know the farmer is expecting me to play by their rules. Just look at it by a case by case basis. For me, if it's down to 2 gens, then there is no mercy and I'll take any hook I can get.

There is a difference between chases and chase interaction, imagine if you get off a hook and then get downed within 5 seconds because a teammate farmed you. Is that very interactive?
How much more interactive can it be? You have the killers attention and are interacting with them. I understand that it is frustrating due to the fact that you're not prepared and are getting chased on the killers terms and not your own, but that is the nature of the game. The killer is supposed to be somewhat overbearing when its 1vs1. So, it isn't the tunneling that you should have a problem with, it is the teammate who farmed you that you should be looking at.
Even then, in situations where you get farmed, there are plenty of perks to give you help in order to get in a better chase, such as DS, Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, UnbreakaBill, Soul Guard and Flash Bang. If that isn't enough, you have teammates that can take hits for you, flashlight rescue you, or even sabotage the hook.
The game is interactive enough, the main issue is bad teammates, not killer interaction.
-
yes.
-
There are lots of bad players in Dbd these days. There are also lots of toxic bullies who like to mess with their teammates. Just look at it as them making the match easier for you. If you want to be nice, you can just slug the unhooked and go after the unhooker, but you don't have to. Personally, I'll slug and tunnel the crap out of the unhooker for doing that.
-
@tennmio said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2428481#Comment_2428481
Do you just not play survivor at all or have you never been tunneled? I doubt you have ever been tunneled. Getting tunneled isn't fun cause you know what will happen. At some point you get to a dead zone, you won't pip if you didn't get to do anything else. If you have a challenge that is not getting chased by the killer you won't get it done. If your found or brought a good item you will loose it and if you are unlucky and your teammates aren't doing good all 4 will die.
It is simple. No matter how good you are you might just end up dying nmw, if the killer has noed an no one did totems, if someone got chased before and threw 4-5 strong paletts, if rng isn't in your favor etc.
Getting chased isn't the same as getting tunneled. You might do good and take a hook stage rather than throwing a good palett just to have your teammates throw it before they are even hurt. And then on person that throws the pallette next to the hook going in for the "rescue" chased by the killer... I'd love to see anyone get of that hook, farmed with the killer around and manage to get away from it without bt or ds when all you had was the palette you teammate threw it with no need.
I have over 3000 hours in survivor. I have been tunneled and camped plenty of times. Ranking and Pipping is meaningless, you literally get nothing for it. Challenges are called challenges for a reason, they challenge you to do something with the threat of the killer being present. They're not meant to be easy and you're not entitled to have the killer go away so you can achieve your goal.
Items are very easy to come by and you don't even have to spend blood points for them at all. All you have to to is run Plunderers. I have 132 red maps, 69 red keys, 72 Alex toolboxes, 55 purple keys, 80 engineer tool boxes, 56 purple med-kits and 70 purple flashlights. I'm not going to bother with listing the obscene amounts of lower rarity items I have. All from Plunderers, since I P3d my Claudette a long time ago and have all the perks I want on her unlocked, I haven't had to dump any points into her for a long time. Losing items aren't an excuse to not want to be chased. Even if Plunderers wasn't a perk, you know what you can do? You can play Killer with BBQ and just dump all of your blood points on your survivors!
You're right, no matter how good you are, there is no guarantee to escape! It is the nature of the game. The Devs have even said that their goal for proper balance is 2 escapes and 2 kills, so people are going to die. If the killer has NoEd and kills you with it, that is yours and your teams fault, not the killer. You take a risk every time you walk by a dull totem and not cleanse it. You take a risk by not playing stealthily when one gen is left.
Getting tunneled is getting chased. You may not like it, but they are the same thing. Having bad teammates who lead the killer to you is the problem, not tunneling. Going after the injured survivor who has already been hooked is usually the best choice a killer can make. If you and a lot of other survivors were honest, it really isn't tunneling that is the problem, it is the fact that you and your teammates are just not good enough to loop the killer and waste enough of their time in order to complete objectives. That is really it. And since it doesn't make you happy, you want the killer to be handicapped to give you yet another chance to succeed, in a game that repeatedly gives you chance after chance after chance to escape the killer and waste their time.

That I can do. I was literally in a match against trapper a minute ago, working on a gen, thinking to myself that gens need more skill checks. So yea, this can work.

As killer we're expected to facilitate fun for survivors at times to the detriment of our own fun. We're not good unless we make the game super engaging, but also open the exit gate personally escort the survivors out judging by the way the forums usually tell it.
You're not allowed to open the exit gate, they want the blood points for that too!
-
Yet, you have lots of people who complain about tunneling, when chasing is supposedly the most fun part of the game. I've read many angry comments, berating killers for not letting them go so they can work on generators, open chests and cleanse totems. It just goes to show that you can't please everyone.

I appreciate the honest feedback! Thank you! To address a few specific points -
Yamaoka, I don't know yet that I can't have fun unless I survive...I just sorta thought that was the ultimate goal of the Survivor role, so I have been gearing my gameplay toward that.
Seraphor, that's a good list. I'm getting better at skill checks. I rarely fail, and occasionally get Greats now. Numbers 2, 4, and 5 I have yet to do. I think that's part of the frustration. I see that the tools are there for it to be possible, but I feel like I am incapable yet of pulling off a scenario where I can actually evade a killer.
Orion, I get what you're saying. The deck is stacked against me, if the killer finds me, I'm likely going to die. I guess it would just be cool if I could OCCASIONALLY pull off scenarios 2, 4, and 5 that Seraphor outlined above :) It would be nice to not feel helpless the moment I'm detected. I guess that just comes with practice, and that was sorta the point of my post - what made that stuff click for you guys? When did you reach a moment when you could occasionally do things like Seraphor outlined above, and also survive every once in a while?
Huge_Bush, thank you I'll check out some videos and try playing some Killer matches.*
*Pending post about when does killer get fun/how do I actually catch and kill any of these slippery survivors! lol...just kidding. Maybe. xD
Thanks for the feedback so far! I'd love to get any additional!
Yes, it's nice to survive, but you need to understand that it isn't a guarantee and that even though you can play selfishly and let your teammates rot, the Survivor role is a team role more than it is anything else. Working together will grant a greater success and you should try to find the fun in getting your teammates out, even if it means you dying.
Some of the most fun I have playing this game is when the gates are open and the killer is camping the hook. Trying to rescue the hooked person, with the clock counting down can be exhilarating and immensely rewarding if you succeed. I usually go down and die, but I got my teammate out and that's all that matters to me-well, as long as the teammate has shown competence during the match and did objectives and not just hide behind a rock the whole time.
Since you're just starting out, you're going to have bad teammates, so I suggest you don't go too out of your way to help them and play a little more selfishly, unless you see they're not terrible. I recommend you run Plunderers for the chance at a key. If you find a key, hide it in a dark corner so your teammates don't find it and the killer doesn't see it in your hand (if he does, you will get tunneled). If the game looks like it's hopeless, embrace the bush and become one with nature and don't let the killer find you. When your teams all dead, get the key and look for the hatch. Sometimes, shadowing the killer will let you find the hatch faster, just be careful.
Finally, every time the killer puts someone in dying state, stop what you're doing and get in a locker. They have a perk called Barbecue and Chili that reveals your aura (if your a certain distance away from him) whenever they hook someone, allowing them to know to head to your direction. Getting in a locker hides your aura.
Oh, another thing is Ruin and Undying, two common perks lots of killers run. Ruin causes the gens to regress, so when you get to a gen, work on it for 3 seconds and let go. It will have a regression animation and you will know to look out for a lit totem. When you find the totem, cleanse it to disable it. It is important to do this asap if you're against a highly mobile killer like Nurse, Spirit, Oni, Blight or Hill Billy.
Undying is another hex. It basically gives a different hex a second chance after being cleansed. You will know the killer has it if you walk by a dull totem at the start of the match and you get a hex notification on the right side of your screen. Just be warned that Undying reveals your aura for a few seconds every time you get near a dull totem. If you realize they have Undying, you will need to look for at least two lit totems to disable Ruin. Getting rid of Ruin and Undying will greatly ease your time in fixing gens.

Personally, they should just quit making 110% Killers. They all cause some problems and are mostly overwhelmingly oppressive in chase but crap at everything else, or straight up broken (old Legion) or just complete bs like Spirit.
The only exception would be Huntress but for some reason they failed with everyone else.
I agree, they should make Pinhead have a floating animation rather than a run animation and allow him to move at 160% speed. His power should be an AOE ability that shoots all the nails out of his head, in all directions, nailing any survivor in place.
