  • I think it would still be very fragile, but at least you could choose not to have it be on the most obvious spot ever ?

  • I don't know how much they've acquired when it comes to rights to possible new survivors or killers. However, I do hope the next chapters to get a follow up will be other horror licenses, so that everyone gets a time to shine.

  • A small version of BBQ, to incentive leaving hook.

Grim Embrace, to incentive going after several people.

    Mini Corrupt Intervention.

A partial Shattered Hope, where snuffing boon once removes one of the skulls from the totem, and should the boon be placed here again, nerfs its range by 30-50%. If snuffed an additional time, it breaks the totem.

Deerstalker, with the condition that slug perks (No Mither, UB, Tenacity) renders immune from this form of aura reading.

    Math is objectively true.

I can play Survivor all night long, two dozen games... ZERO SALT form any Killer whatsoever.

I get Survivor salt in 3 out of 4 Killer games.

    It's not even CLOSE.

And encouragement?! HA! Not even once in 1500 hours.

I'm sorry your experience as killer is that bad in the bm department. Hopefully you meet nicer survivors soon !

(Also, maths make Nurse the weakest killer of the game, so maths might not always ring true when it comes to measuring any aspect on the scale of the whole game =D)

  • Last night I dreamt that the Knight had a perk that made it so that only one gen could be worked on simultaneously on the map. If someone was on a gen, all other gens were blocked by the entity.

It was like Thrilling Tremors on steroids, for all the game and without any particular activation.

It replaced Face the Darkness and was ironically called "Hatch". X)

  • Probably not a SWF, double CoH and the other two have Self Care.

Also, sometimes you'll go against solos who all use at least some meta perks, and it will be similar builds but not swf.

There's no way to tell for sure, but I'll assume it's a duo/trio if someone I killed a long time ago is in the chat at the end. They probably waited for their friend to die/escape. =)

Salt is NOT equally distributed. Holy crap is this false.

Survivors give salt even if they win. The overwhelming majority of killers just hit continue and move on, at any number of kills.

    To each their opinion =)

Also, this game is made of many layers. What you're experiencing might not be what I'm experiencing, and there might not be an objective true answer on this.

Most survivors who stomp me are gracious as they do so, willing to give advices and encouragements. I hear it's not that common, but then again, I'm a very lucky killer.

  • Genuine question, because I'm a bit confused : if you know they won't pull down the pallet, why not force them to ? Lunging through pallets (once when they're at DH range and times after) tends to force them to be dropped, and then you can break em.

I don't agree to the rest of your point, re: the bone and tunnel, but others are already debating this and I'm not gonna add on that. =)

Funny enough, on Myers it isn't bad at all. You can stand on the balcony and stalk survivors who have no idea what you are doing. This can be especially devestating with Tombstone Builds. D3ad plays did a fun video about this

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1kKK59U2P0

Oh, I can see that happening ! =)

  • Know your public, I guess.

I'm always playing very nice, making it obviously so, and it's generally well received. I still have very good games and most people who win against me do so graciously.

However, I have always played that way, so my mmr has never skyrocketed from playing hardcore to win for a long time. It's very much still in the casual sphere, where I know playing nice rewards you with people being nice in return.

Maybe your survivors are past that point. I wouldn't know if higher mmr survivors can be nice, I haven't been there.

That being said, I'd avoid generalizing your experience from a few games to all survivors you face, or worse, all survivors in general. You were ruthless up until a few games ago. You might have stomped on survivors who were playing nice. They might be making the same posts you are, saying "it's useless being nice to killers, they don't care and will make fun of you". It's all a cycle.

  • It's miserable on Trapper, Hag, Ghostface, Pig and probably Myers as well.

Some branches have weird collisions that I could see cause problems for killers for whom that matters.

Apart from that, very cool map in my opinion !

  • - P3 bloodied cosmetics Bill called "Grandfather Bill" in a duo with another Bill who was "Regular Bill"

    - "CEO of Sex"

    - Any variation of the BreedMeMyers meme

    - "FIX HITBOXES" (that one was unsurprisingly quite toxic)

    - "Nod for boom" (brought flashbang)

    - "Boobies 4 Bubba"

Probably others that I was too lazy to screenshot and don't remember ! =D

I think you misunderstand. I've already prestiged those.

I did indeed misunderstand ! I thought you meant which dlcs you owned and could prestige haha !

    Love the username btw x)

Then definitely Artist for Pain Resonance ! Very popular at the moment.

Hillbilly has pretty solid perks too ! =D

  • If you have one killer you play more than others, starting out by Prestige 1 on all of them is a good thing, since the bloodpoints you'll invest in your main to get back some addons will give you all the other's perks as well. =)

Assuming you've P1 some base game killers :

I'd go for Cannibal for Chili & Barbecue first, since it's so nice knowing where people are on a regular basis.

Then Doctor (Overcharge is my main slowdown perk, and Monitor&Abuse can be good on some killers).

Then it's a bit more random, I guess I'd go Onryo for slowdown, then Nemesis for Lethal Pursuer, Clown for Bamboozle, and finally last but not least Hag. She's my favourite killer, but her perks are fragile and not great on all killers. =D

  • My dirty confession is that I really like using Hex : Third Seal. It passively slows down the game and gives me more hook states, it's crazy people don't try and cleanse it more ! But at the same time, I just know it's solos who are dying from it... :D:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/354674/how-to-make-dbd-a-better-place

I do all of that as killer. Especially if someone DC's, which I get pretty often just because they see that I'm a Nemesis... I just hook everyone twice and let the other 3 finish their gens, whilst I go around punching or body-blocking my own zombies/breaking walls xD

I had one game where I was mid-chase, kinda lost eyes on the killer, but spotted my glyph... so I stopped to do it and got found by Ghosty... and he just stood there looking at me and my glyph and just meme-ing, it was the funniest thing ever, so I just crouch-walked towards him and told him to hook/kill me, I had my glyph and couldn't care less about escaping lol, and he just let me go... love those interactions man 😂

Seriously, I'm not a big fan of Nemesis, but there is no greater declaration of love than a Nemesis punching his zombies to let you finish your gen <3

  • I'd prefer rewards scattered on big checkpoints on the way to P100 over one big surprise at P100.

That being said, some cosmetics would be nice, or some shards for your dedication... MAYBE a few charms, but, like, cool ones.

  • If you mostly play killer, then you're sure to see more salty survivors than the other way around. But salt is equally distributed when it comes to losing, I can assure you. It's just less prominent in killers since they 0K less often, at least in my experience.

Semantics aside, yes, some people will be salty no matter what happens. It's not even a skill issue, since there are plenty of salty players in higher mmrs as well.

Try not to take to heart the mean comments. If you're playing fair at relatively low/middle skill level, you'll meet plenty more nice people who'll be cute in the chat, and it will feel better. =)

  • Oh, would love to have prime for that one. It ain't much, but I like all things Legion =)

  • I think Boil Over is fine.

However, doesn't the main building already have one hook upstairs ? I'm not sure it's guaranteeed, as I've been on the receiving end of an unhookable survivor before and I don't think it was there. I guess it could be a permanent spawn if it's not already.

  • If you don't care too much about your escapes, which is a bit harder if your escape rate is as miserable as mine, giving a kill to a killer that couldn't get one through the match can be well received as well !

I do it to every beginner Nurse I run into (paying it forward, Nurse players were very nice to me when I was a baby survivor), and generally any killer I like that would otherwise get 0K. If they played fair and I'm not on a discouraging losing streak, I'll wait under a hook as my teammates escape.

Often times, the killer doesn't accept it, but offering doesn't hurt. =)

  • What GoodBoyKaru said.

This is why if you're big on fan creations but you want to retain the rights to your creative endeavours, this is not really the place to share them.

  • Much less than useless map offerings I won't use, that's for sure !

Pretty much the only map offering I use as survivor from time to time is Dead Dawg, and it's reserved for whenever I get Midwich twice in a row, so that I might see the sun a little. =)

  • I think a certain number of insults are permitted as "regular endgame chat salt", and will not result in a ban.

However, chat harassment that is racist, ableist or threatening in nature are reportable and might result in a ban or a strike.

  • Doctor is my absolute favourite killer to go against !! He is very versatile, he has lots of cool addons that make playing against him interesting, my absolute favorite being all the red stains addons. Chases are interesting as well because he can deny vaults or pallets any time and you have to play around that.

I'm planning on learning to play as him as well soon =D

  • Survivor : Dance With Me, and currently Bite The Bullet is really growing on me.

Killer : Spies From The Shadows, and in very niche cases, Mad Grit.

  • I've had a couple of Clowns with hew perks recently, it's surprisingly not bad since the toxic bottles can interrupt cleansing if you feel like someone is getting too close to your totem.

  • I think you're not that far off. Content creators, especially famous ones, will influence a lot of players to adopt their opinions, without really even trying to. Often times, promoting pretty unhealthy mindsets (see : win at all costs, yet call any counter from the other side disgusting).

A lot of people look up to them, and will repeat those opinions whether they apply to their own experience or not. Plenty of times my friend has told me things that he obviously heard from high skill streamers, and when I ask him "But has [X] affected you personally ? Is this your experience of the game ?" he'll be like "Well, no, but it's most people's experience". Is it ? Or is it the experience of higher skill players, which are not by any means 'most people' ?

Same with content creators creating extremely strong builds on either side, then coyly ending their video with "Please don't use this build.. :)"

I think people show a lot of deference to famous content creators, and adopt most of their opinions as "they've played the game forever, surely they know better!", in that same time extrapolating that opinion from its source (a specific mmr bracket that the content creator was experiencing) to the game in general.

  • On one hand, am I not really interested in the Knight himself. I think he looks silly in most maps and his gameplay as it is now (put knight at loop, 2v1 the chase) is not very fulfilling to me.

However, the perks are interesting. I'm waiting to see what's inevitably going to get nerfed before deciding to buy or not because of them though.

I might buy the DLC to celebrate the first original killer since I've started playing the game (I technically joined a week or two after Dredge came out), since I tend to like them more than licensed killers and I want BHVR to keep creating cool original concepts, even if that one didn't strike my fancy particularly.

  • That's not very convivial. I think it would only make things worse.

Oh my, that is one well-placed illusionary Doctor !! RNG really did that to you haha !

One more reason Doctor is so fun to face <3

  • Same, honestly !

I can't say for when I play survivor, because for some reason that role irks me into being easily salty (something about too much being out of my control), but playing killer is such a comfortable spot for me.

I honestly admire anyone that can loop me for 4 gens, and even if the team I'm facing is stomping me, I rarely feel bad about it. They clearly deserved their win, and they're often very nice in endgame chat as well. I've made many friends by playing killer (and a couple killer friends by playing survivor), and I keep every funny endgame chat in screenshots as a reminder that there are so many good people in this community, even if sometimes we're too salty to see it. =)

I had some dude absolutely lose his mind and tell me I was cheating because I used BBQ. This was before it got nerfed and was in basically every build. He honestly believed that all tracking perks were cheating. His entire Steam Profile is dedicated to declaring that aura perks on killer are just hacks and are reportable.

So, I don't think THAT guy underrated tracking perks one bit.

I think I found your guy the other day, accused me of wallhacking because of I'm All Ears and Lethal Pursuer, doubled down on it calling them "[unknown filtered word] wallhack perks"... Quite a funny dude ! =)

  • I have a lot of those !! =D

I had a game on Lery the other day against a Myers, who got all the way to tier 3 without us spotting him even once. The scream my duo friend made when he got downed first was extremely entertaining.

At some point I'm on hook, first stage, and Myers stays in the distance (24m maybe) looking at me intermittently to see if anyone is coming to unhook. He would look at me, turn around, look at me again, turn around again. So I made it a game of whenever he'd look at me, I'd briefly lift my arms twice (while audibly saying "hellooo !") and he would nod once, then turn around, then face me again, I wave hello, he nods once, etc. He finally gestured at a solo that was crouching near me to unhook me and went to look for someone else.

He eventually killed two survivors, and let me and the solo who rescued me finish the gens, open the gate and leave =D

There's also this time I got hatch... from a survivor ! Definitely made me chuckle.

Finally, that time a DC during the loading of the game prevented the meeting of greater minds =(

i mean if i have the material i would go for it i guess. But i dont have it most of the time cuz i am no streamer. I do have recorded like 2 matches, 1 for a streamer who does give you advice and typs, pointing out where you made mistakes if you send them your vod. And the other one for a friend because of the Masquerade event.

I don't record my games typically either, but if I see something fishy I'll use the Nvidia overlay to record the rest of the game. If it's an option for you, you could try it ! =)

(I do have to say, it can make your game lag a little. But if you have a blatant cheater in front of you, that could help !)

  • @Terion said:

i mean the 90 seconds are there for a reason, this would only be a buff again to swf. Unlike you mean no matter how many people work on the same gen, they take either equally long. Which would then make people just spread gens. It would shift but i dont think it would change that much.

I think they mean, detect who is queueing together in the lobby, and if there is a 3-man swf in the lobby, gens will be 90s for everyone, if there are only solos, gens are going to be 80s for everyone during the game.

It wouldn't be a Prove Thyself situation but an adaptation of base kit gen time depending on who queued together.

  • @Terion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3263418#Comment_3263418

its the hdd part that gets me impatient about it. But my impatience generally does let me hesitate towards bothering reports in the first place.

I understand that it's time consuming, but I think if you have enough material to report a player for griefing or cheating, you should go for it. You'd be doing us legit players a solid in making the game healthier, one troll at a time. =)

  • I don't think this would be the fairest, since not all swfs are significantly better than solos (I'd even say most aren't, and when they are, then mmr is already taking care of boosting them towards better killers). I know for one that my duo rarely sees the gates being open. If we have the bad luck of being in a lobby with another duo, with whom we couldn't communicate, the gens would be even longer to fix than right now and that's not very fair.

It would also prompt a lot of lobby dodging, since why would a solo want to queue with a 3-man if they can have shorter gen times in another lobby with a duo or no swf ? Which is not ideal.

I do commend you for making the gen times start lower than current time for all-solo lobbies.

  • @Terion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3263402#Comment_3263402

kinda shame players have to go through so many ways just to report someone. You know how long it takes to upload a video on youtube?

Uploading on youtube is honestly not that long, I feel I lost much more time when I had to edit the correct part of the game out of a 2h stream (by chance or stupidity, the guy who griefed me did it while on stream and I could recover the VOD).

But yes, it's silly how many hoops people have to jump through to get a report haha !

  • The file is likely too big to be uploaded.

What you can do is upload it to youtube and then put the link in the report's description. It worked for me when I had something to report :)

  • Unfortunately, this is not reportable. It is considered an okay practice because you have a set timer after which the game ends for you, which is not considered hostage taking.

  • I like the "try repairing gens as fast as you can", as though there was an option to repair faster in base kit. Yeah sure, if there was a "safe vs fast" choice on gens when someone is facecamped (with fast maybe being continuous skillchecks but with much faster progress), I guess that advice would make sense. You could try and do gens as fast as you could. As it stands, you're still stuck with 90 seconds while your teammate dies on hook, unless you brought gen perks that allow you faster progress wihout being grouped up ! x)

  • Bless lower-mid mmr, where people are not as invested in their wins and are often quite nice... Might be Pan syndrome, but I don't look forward to rising in skill and meeting those charming players.

  • @Terion said:

I gotta say deliverance works quite often for me. Sure its a luck based one but i guess im just very lucky with it..

My nemesesses or how the plural is called are:

NOED!!! -> the most important one. I always say its a baby killer perk because as soon as you reach the softcap either they alredy have all totems Cleansed/destroyed or as soon as noed activates they find it litteraly 10 seconds later. And it doesnt even help you during game, its pure endgame. But i have the same issiue with all the hexes. Aside from maybe 3. (Undying, Blood favour, Pentimento)

Blast mine. -> "Stun the killer x times" challenges. Most of the time they dodge pallets like gods when i throw them, surely i just need more practice. But blast mine is like a joker card to me, if it only would work out more than all 5 games once. x.x Really am i the only killer that kicks gens regularly?? At least its slow progress, better than none.

Spine chill -> I cant look at 3 diffrent things the same time. I gotta be aware for skillchecks when working on a gen, i need to look out for stealth killers, and on top of that.. It does show me when the killer facing my direction no matter how far away. I dont know what to do with that information. Even pre Nerf i couldnt bear with it. Premonition however, makes a sound, procs only when the killer is near you within 36 meters and you know exactly from what angle the killer is coming. So you can evade into the opposite direction.

I kick gens a lot (Overcharge is my go-to slowdown), and I can remember at least one game where I got blast mined 4 times (and Red Herring'd once) by the same player. It was ridiculous and honestly quite fun !

Hope you get more gen kicking next time you have one of those challenges !

  • Deception has a self-reinforcing cycle that I don't know how to use it correctly, so it doesn't work, so I don't take it, therefore I don't learn it, then my friend says "Hey you should give Deception another chance !", so I put it on again, and the cycle continues.

Boil Over never works when I'm using it, but seems strong when I'm on the receiving end, which makes me put it on from time to time, and still not get value from it, haha.

I don't have any killer perk that is as cursed as those, I feel. =)

  • I think it's less the game and more the community being kinky little goblins. Just look at Felix, the white bread of male survivors, and how many people thirst over him.

Horror has, for many, a non negligible sex appeal. (Cue Hooked on You)

To the point of your post, yeah, maybe the artists do prioritize making attractive character designs over coherent lore.

Though there is one thing I don't agree with in your post.

I think Haddie looks great. I love that they made a character with dyed hair and visible scars. 10/10, want more cosmetics for her !

  • Project W is the most expensive DLC at the moment, at 12€.

Sure, you could buy only Rebecca with auric cells, but that would mean charging your account with them, which still costs something like 10€ as a minimum purchase if I remember correctly.

So yeah, expensive for a bandaid fix on an overnerfed perk.

Where did you hear/ see that thing about the Garden of Joy?!?

I've watched a few streamers play Garden on the PTB, and if I remember correctly the upstairs part is significantly lighter, and one of the windows downstairs was closed. I'm not sure if it is always closed or if it's gonna be rng dependant, but it beats having a permanent god loop in the house =)
