A bit sad that you can't do side objectives anymore like totems or chests without being detrimental to the team.

I have VSed many myers who are infinite tombstoning and upon checking their achievements already have it, this is why I use lockers now, because more often than not they aren't doing it for the achievement, then again - I've never been allowed to do anything to get my achievements.
I think it's simply unfair to assume it's to "deny an achievement" nobody knows if the survivor is trying to get an achievement or if the killer is genuinely after it as well.
I'm sorry my mind went there, in that case.
-
It's bad sports on the part of the survivor to deny the achievement, but the game rules are not about being good sports. If they were, plenty of BM iterations would be bannable.
Killer could absolutely end the game, but chooses not to.
So my guess would be it's on killer.
-
It's grammatically correct, it's the passive form of have, in the past.
-
I always give hatch or gate. (In the limits quoted above)
I've given hatch dozens of times by now, and only ever once had a survivor be ungrateful or rude about it.
The positives outweight the negatives on this one for me =)

Your problem should be with the devs, not the players. It’s not the players’ fault that the most efficient and smart way to play is to use dev-intended tactics that typically are not fun for the other side.
I can multitask
-
I'll always crawl.... to somewhere my teammate is not.
Or have the killer follow me to funny places like making him go up and down on tractor, visit Father Campbell's Chapel, bait them to check bushes or empty lockers.
Working with killer when you're slugged is just plain unsportsmanlike in my opinion.
-
Titles like this should honestly be auto-closed. Nothing good comes from these accusatory posts.
-
People can play how they want, that's true. I'm no one to tell them how to enjoy the game.
However, if that player shows no respect for their opponents, and plays in a way to actively prevent them from enjoying the game, I'll have my opinion about it.
No sense in sending them salt, but I'll judge them quietly and I'm not ashamed of that.
Instead, I'll just send love to the next remarkable player I'm matched with or against. Particularly means a lot to killers, since some get called names all day.
-
Most people who call for SoloQ buffs actually want three things :
Basekit Kindred (minus killer aura).
UI Icons to know roughly what people are doing or not doing.
And for DCers to be replaced by bots instead of condemming the whole game.
None of this affects full SWFs particularly.
As for Borrowed Time basekit, it was necessary to reduce the efficiency of tunneling and giving survivors a chance to play. It came with many QoL buffs to killers.
As for killer powers being buggy, yes. Yes they are. Some of them at least. And if we do get SoloQ info, I really, really hope BHVR will start buffing killers individually by working on their power and how/why they don't work.
Not by slapping number changes as a bandaid and call it a day.
-
This.
Whenever a killer slugs me for the 4K and camps me or wants me to sell out my teammate, I'm gonna crawl around to somewhere my teammate is NOT, so that it wastes some time and teammate gets a chance at hatch.
That's what I always do whether it's my duo remaining or a solo.
Yet my duo, who is perfectly content getting a chance at hatch and waiting a few minutes when he's the last one standing, and who will do the same crawling away thing for me, will crawl right to the last survivor when it's a solo that doesn't seem to come raise him, essentially selling them out.
This double standard is one of my biggest pet peeves with him.

Eh, I cut them some slack. They'll learn =) Though it's a bummer they messed it up for me =(

Hag I don’t mean scary in that way. I mean as a survivor there is very little concern over the killers now because they are so easy to walk all over and beat. The game structure is the survivors are trying to escape the killer and get out of the match but it feels like the killer are the weak links that should fear the survivors now is what I was getting at. I don’t know why I always see comments about how all these games killers 3 and 4 k because I don’t see those games. I don’t see all this killer domination that mainly survivor mains state; so it’s either not true and exaggerated to make it seem like killers are stronger then they are or I’m one of the few that doesn’t experience this.
I think it might just be different mmr brackets. In mine (as survivor), which is on the low end of average, killers prevail 90% of the time. That's because of a combination of untrained players, snowball, poor decision making, strong perks, DCs and killers tunneling. I'm not saying it's only that killers are OP (because they're not). It's multiple factors.
In other brackets, I 100% know it might be different. But if stats show that even at top 5%, killers have a more than 50% killrate, I don't believe that they're in such a bad spot that they get walked all over consistently. If it's the case for some players, maybe they should lower their mmr a bit and find a niche that suits them better.
That's what I do when I play killer, and my games are challenging (my Hag games are, at least. I'm too friendly with Legion during events, so my Legion games are currently getting increasingly easy, which I'll have to correct at some point) yet I don't face cocky, unpleasant players.
This game has multiple layers. Almost anything we can say about the game is not true on all of them. That's why feedback from everyone is important =)
-
No one has the right to police how others play. Not "bad" players, and not experienced players.
Low-experience/skill players can't speak for how balance works at higher levels. They don't have that knowledge.
Similarly, experienced players can't speak about balance at low/casual levels. They don't have that knowledge, and they don't have more legitimity to their words.
Both feedbacks are useful.
Especially considering the game struggles to retain players, and that the fairly small community who plays that game is part of the problem of matchmaking not working optimally. Feedback from experienced players is useful to make their experience smoother, and feedback from casual players is useful to up QoL and hopefully gain more players.
Neither type of player has the right to police others on how they should play or what they deserve.
-
Honestly it was better before they boosted the numbers but removed the gen speed. I'd rather have that version any day.
-
I really don't think you can say it's the case at the scale of the whole game.
Killer might not be scary anymore, but honestly it's because though DbD is horror themed, it's hardly a scary game. Killers are not scary, they're an opponent who has the power to remove you from the game. That's the extent of their scare power.
However, I wouldn't say killers are a joke or as underpowered as OP says. As a very average survivor, I can attest that most games I see are 3Ks and 4Ks. And that's without clowning on the killer. Most of my escapes are hatch given by the killer as last survivor alive or the odd afk bot killer.

Tippy is innocent of this crime!!!!
HOLLY is the one who got into the crate. I didn't make her do anything :D
Olive is still new enough that I still think they're just getting used to each other but as of now at least, I don't think Holly appreciates Olive being here. I'm hoping to give it a few more weeks before I step in (no claws or teeth have been used so I'm not overly concerned right now but basically anytime Olive and Holly are together, Olive paws at Holly and Holly hisses, they tangle, then they run away from each other).
Just hoping/figuring they're still establishing their own positions (Olive as the new kitty and Holly as the kitty who now has to share what was her territory alone) and just need a few more weeks to at least be fine with each other
I hope they'll learn to tolerate each other soon =)
My friend got a new kitten a couple of months ago, and though his older cat was a bit disgruntled at first, they've come to napping next to each other like old friends.
Hopefully Holly and Olive will be the same =D

Wraith is pretty balanced. And his base perks are so, SO bad (Shadowborn being the only good enough one, though it's used mostly on other killers as a support perk).
I actually think, from playing him a little bit, that his speed boost coming out of stealth could use a little buff.

completing healing action just means change a survivor's health-state from dying to injure or injured to healthy.
Healing the equivalent of 1 health-state means that you need heal 16 charges on a survivor that is injured to healthy(since health-state only applies to injured survivors).
Aftercare is easy to activate but it is unreliable information perk because it disables itself when you get hooked. Better off just using kindred or bond over it. The perk is only worth if you use it with blood pact in my opinion to spread aura reading across teammates but its not worth the perk slot in my opinion. Its just more perks to -bridge solo information swf-gap- for what should just be base-kit to be honest.
Thanks ! =)
It's still good news to me considering I thought it was really hard to activate. Some of them translations are a bit confusing !
It might be unreliable, but I think I'll still try it out and see. I'm usually playing survivor in duos, so just being unhooked by a solo and knowing their whereabouts no matter the distance for the next couple of minutes already sounds incredible, as I would know what roughly 2/3 of my teammates are doing ! =)
-
@Hannacia said:
I won't take aftercare off. Love that perk. Saved me so many times when team members are running the killer to me. Also helps me to run the killer if i have the auras of teammates so i dont run the killer to them.
Lovely perk i love it way more than bond.
Glad to know it's useful !
Could you tell me if it works in this scenario :
An injured survivor runs up to you. They're already 70% healed. You finish the heal. Does it count towards Aftercare ? Or does it only work if you've healed them from 0 ?
Thank you =)
-
@Bedslamb said:
i always thought it took an hook save or a full heal to activate ?
It also works with unhooks, but the part I'm confused about is the one with healing. =)
-
@MaTtRoSiTy said:
If team mates don't run Bond they will do this and like others say it is usually by accident.
The thing random team mates do that really grinds my gears is running the killer to where a team mate or myself is on a hook. This is one of the stupidest things you can possibly do to your team and can lose you the match from that one misplay
Oh, that's a good one.
My pet peeve is teammates downing a pallet next to you in the first 30s of the game, and then proceeding to go down in the following 30s as they're not good loopers either. It doesn't happen the most often, but it's still weird that it happens at all.
-
@Katzengott said:
Remember, killers don't know if you're playing solo or in a SWFs. If anything they need to treat every group as a SWFs.
Solo isn't the problem when MMR works, the problem are SWFs when MMR works.
I think SWF is a problem when mmr doesn't work.
Assuming mmr works perfectly, and assuming SWF really does have a higher escape rate at any skill level, then their mmr would inflate and put them in front of killers who are able to handle them. In a majority of cases, SWF would not be a problem, because mmr would take care of harmonizing SWF and Solo escape rates by boosting SWFs to a higher mmr where they'd have the intended win rate, roughly 50% of the time.
The problem lies when mmr keeps putting really good SWFs against killers that aren't well adjusted against them.
As it is, there aren't enough players to make sure mmr works as well as it should, so the game will put anyone and everyone together if it deems them loosely close in mmr, and that means some really good SWFs are matched against killers that have a harder time handling them.
-
I feel like it's most often by accident. It happened to me before that I'd unwittingly lead killer to my team resetting because I thought I'd try and loop shack and my team was healing there without me knowing.
Very awkward moment for everyone involved.

Yeah I feel that, I just want the incentive but I dunno if it is even worth it at present
With enough Survivor puddings, you can make your own incentives hahaha
I was lucky yesterday, incentives were on killer for a while
Made 175k bps in one game with incentives + pudding + cute survivors willing to play around in snowmen and farm a bit
-
If I'm playing and no friends are online, I'd much rather play killer to be honest. It's easier for me to have better games as killer than as survivor, let alone SoloQ.
-
Mad Grit and Spies From The Shadows.
-
CoH is not a big deal on some killers, and is devastating on others.
Just like some maps, regardless of their being biased.
When I play Legion or Ghostface, CoH is a massive waste of time for the survivors.
When I play Hag, it's the best investment they can make.
I think the perk is mostly fine as is, but maybe should take more time to be set again, like someone suggested earlier.
-
Yeah, it doesn't really decay, it just makes your mmr decrease more when you lose after coming back from a long period of time not playing. So you'll still have a few bad games coming back, until the game adjusts your mmr correctly.
-
Queue times as killer : 20 seconds to 2 min usually (France, low-to-mid mmr I'd guess)
Do I think killer is too easy : I think there are too many parameters to decisively say "Killer is too easy" or "Killer is too hard". I'd say it tends to be much easier than survivor when starting out, but that it becomes suddenly hard as your mmr catches up to you and puts you against more experienced survivors. Some killers have a more linear learning curve and will grow in skill organically without the game becoming too hard until you have a good handle on the killer's potential. Some others like Hag go from "you can f around a bit for a good while because most survivors you go against have no idea how your power works" to "you face god loopers and there's nothing you can do about it except get good" very abruptly.
I don't think one role is significantly easier or stronger than the other at average and up mmr. Some killers are definitely underpowered at high level, but the stats do show that they're as a whole not doing bad top 5% either. It's just that the gameplay is much less varied and both roles feel pushed back in a corner and forced to go meta.
DCs : I don't play Nurse or Twins or Blight, but I do main Legion and Hag and can attest to many DCs against the former and some DCs against the latter.
-
Might have been a lighthearted way of calling you sweaty ? I main Hag as well and haven't been called stinky yet, haha.
Though if it is Hag-specific postgame chat, then it's really funny !
The only time I've had some sort of roleplaying interaction in postgame chat after a killer game was a Jeff and a Jane becoming the new Legion members after a friendly Legion game. They were adorable =D
-
I love impossible skillcheck build !
I don't have all necessary perks to play it yet, but the couple times I went against it, it was really fun. The killer players were really cool as well =)
-
It would be worse than now.
Not only would it be possible to identify the weakest looper of the bunch and tunnel them relentlessly, but their suffering would not even end after 3 unhooks. It would just keep going.
-
Nurse is balanced enough at most skill levels. In low and mid mmr she's really fun to face (in my opinion).
So I don't think it would take a lot to make her more on par with the rest of the cast.
Maybe addon tweaks and making her blink attacks special attacks.
But as I see it, she's mostly fine currently. It's only at top mmr that she's a monster.
-
Ngl, I thought it was going to be a dig on all the exploits Knight have that aren't killswitched (or in the list of known issues, for that matter).
-
There was never a free prestige for lvl 50.
What happened was a catch up mechanic for people who were at lvl 50 *at the moment of 6.1*, so this summer.
It was because since people didn't prestige their characters back then (because 0 reward to do so) it would make all the bp invested in them in the past worth it by putting them to P3.
Now that the catch up has been done, it's not happening again. At least not to my knowledge.
So.. you might have to get them to P3 the old boring way : through grinding ^^'
-
Hating SWFs (usually without distinction of skill level or number of party) is an easy and comforting thing to do as killer.
Won against a SWF ? I'm such a god, putting them in their place, game didn't hold their hand hard enough uh !
Lost against a SWF ? Those darn SWF, they have such an advantage, it's not my fault if I lost !
Had a slightly embarassing loss against any lobby ? Probably a SWF anyway...
SWF according to killer is the same kind of flexible definition as tunneling according to survivors.
-
I think it's a good scale.
I'm more the "if I had fun I'll count it as a win", but the scale you describe is to me the most objective one can get at describing winning or losing in this game.
-
I've seen a Sprint Burst & Lithe girl once, couldn't decide if she was in on the meme or genuinely trying to get value from both.
-
I've had so little time to play these past few months, I'm still halfway into the rift.
Hoping to grind a bit during the winter hols... ^^'
-
I admittedly don't know much about how other pvp games generally work, and even less about competitive games.
However, I do think that it's mind boggling that some people go for 100 (or more) win streaks, just like that. That it's even possible, in a game that is supposed to make sure you win and lose roughly half the time, feels weird to me.
That's why I think that people who go for win streaks don't really get to complain about their opponents being all kinds of sweaty. I'm thinking of a friend of mine who went on a 100 winstreak on Nurse, I'm also thinking of Otzdarva, but if you're breaking through the game's balance it's normal that it throws at you everything powerful the other side has to offer.
And consequently, if someone goes on a very high winstreak, then they don't really get to complain about their opponents being sweaty when the dust settles and they decide to be casual again. The game doesn't know. Last it knew, the player was blowing through comp players. Of course there will be an inertia.
-
I'm not a good enough survivor to have this kind of dance with killers, so I'm more the "cute in a bumbling, awkward way" than the "tries to entice a chase and gain mutual respect". X)
I WILL however borderline throw in happiness whenever I'm matched with a Hag. =D
Don't crucify me, but I also really like going against Legion, Doctor and Nurse. At the level I play survivor at, Legion rarely needs help and Doctors neither, but no inexperienced Nurse or Hag shall leave the game with a 0K on my watch. I'll happily let myself get sacrificed once my teammates are safe, to give some points and love to the killer.
-
I made a feedback post on this, but the polls are unreadable right now (at least on Chrome) :
The "new" mention is also almost impossible to see on desktop (it's fine on mobile) :
Hope this helps !

You'd be mine and HugTechLover's lovechild =)

- Give survivors information through UI icons and base kit Kindred (except killer aura)
- Adress killer-specific problems (zombies AI, hitboxes, number of carried traps, etc) and buff them individually (as opposed to making general QoL buffs that affects all killers while ignoring their own struggles). This comes after the survivor info harmonization so that there's only one wave of evaluating killers' strength to do instead of two waves before/after survivor info buff, which would take more time.
- Rework unused perks, rather than nerf most used ones.
- (Bring back Sky Billy)
I'd be happy to have 6 months or more without a new chapter if those things were adressed first.
-
Yeah new forums are kind of ugly not gonna lie.
It's not even more mobile friendly as now the notifications are hidden in the profile section.
Also the polls are unreadable, being written white on white.
