  • Played 3h survivor yesterday, only 1 DC to note

    It's not overwhelmingly bad !

  • Seriously, it's hard sometimes to see where the event spirit's gone.

Yesterday I was playing with a couple of friends against a Doctor. He commited to my friend who's decent at looping for 3 whole gens before deciding to switch, then got looped by the solo in our lobby for the 2 last gens, barely got one hit in.

I'm fond of Doctors, I like going against them, and I felt bad for him as he'd had such a bad game, so I did what I often do when it's a rough 0k for the killer, and offered him a sacrifice. I opened a door so that the team could go, and then walked over to the nearest hook and stayed crouched to show him I was giving him a kill if he wanted.

Guy took it (which in itself is kinda rare, generally killers I go against appreciate the offer but decline) and then proceeded to hit me on hook continuously as though I didn't just offered to trade my 7k escape bonus so that he'd have some sacrifice points.

Needless to say, my friends got me off the hook and we all left.

I had one game today where I honestly wasn't sure. They might just have been godlike survivors, but they got the flashlight save EVERY time. They waited it out when I tried to bait out their Dead Hard and got their extra health state at just the right moment EVERY single time.

I admit I wasn't playing my best, mostly because I should have stopped rationalizing to myself that "oh, they definitely won't be following me THIS time. That'd be one time too many. There's just no need to check around for the bastard with the flashlight or face a wall."

I didn't see that they were overtly cheating, but I started wondering during the next game when the next squad was trying all the same tactics and failing, and I stomped them.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3307460#Comment_3307460

I've only had one instance in my 2+ entire career obsessively playing the game where the cheating has actually been obvious. I guess it's more common at extremely high MMR where most cheaters will eventually end up for obvious reasons.

That doesn't apply to the mobile game, mind. Every other game has a Meg running around at 200% speed on Android.

    True, I imagine !

Mine was an infinite instablind flashlight that went through walls and insta heals. They were only in low mmr to test their hacks before a wicked day of wicked deeds I guess.

They did try to get my friends and I to harass the killer as well, but when we turned on them (trying to help the killer get them) they DC'd and we all farmed and had a slug race. Poor killer had been blind half the game before that.

  • I haven't seen a cheater since June, when I started playing.

  • Happens every 4 games for me, it's making it really hard to grind for the last rift levels. I hope there will be a compensation for this.

And it's really everyone, I'd see the killer struggle to carry me to hook as though I had Boil Over even without hiting skillchecks.

Out of 5 games like this yesterday, 4 even gave hatch because it was so unplayable for us they felt bad.

  • Oh boy, been saying it ever since I started playing !!

Kindness is so important in this game. DbD has immense sources of frustration and a big part of the community is pretty cynical and jaded, while a smaller but louder part is super toxic.

Taking the time in endgame chat to check on your opponents and wish them well goes such a long way. Sometimes it's the difference between them queueing up angry and frustrated, and them taking the time to breathe and calm down.

I was lucky to pretty much immediately meet very nice opponents back when I started playing, both as survivor and as killer, which I feel made me into a more chill player.

To this day, I often meet very fun survivors when I play killer (harder to set the mood of the game as survivor without being seen as taunting, so survivor games are pretty standard).

I try to always leave a few kind words in the chat when I feel the game was fair (actually annoys my friend that I take so much time chatting with killers because he can't queue up without me haha) and the response is overwhelmingly positive.

I've been encouraged by a lot of survivors after bad games (one of them has even given me hatch once, which was super cute!) or even after good ones when I'd admit I was a baby of this killer.

The killers also tend to relax a lot once they see they won't be insulted or accused of made up words.

I have a collection of screenshots of nice endgame chats I've had in the past and when I get frustrated it genuinely helps remind me that there are so many good elements in this community. (I've also seen a couple of names appear several times, so now I know i'm on similar mmr with that cute Plague and that funny Meg and looking out for them in games haha)

  • I'd rather use Dead Dawg than Midwich, it's much flatter and you won't have any trouble finding stairs to navigate through the map !

But yeah, Never Sleep Pills and Mural Sketch.

You can put Lethal Pursuer + Chili & Barbecue on to quickly find one survivor to start chains with =)

  • When I play with friends, and this situation happens where killer hovers around the slug, we have a consensus that the slugged person will wait the bleedout to give the other a chance at hatch.

I expect nothing different from random teammates. Therefore if I'm the last standing, I'll most likely hide, and if I'm the one slugged, I'll crawl far away from my teammate as to not tell on them.

Fun fact : I've been called a camper by a killer when hiding for 4 minutes when my friend was slugged & guarded, because they were bored of looking over the slug. See the irony. If you can dish it, one would think you could take it.

Funniest bit is probably when I explained that the slug was my friend and that he agreed because I had a hatch challenge (which I got). Killer really said "Well if you'd told me, I would have let you go" after slugging for the 4K. Sure buddy. I believe you.

  • Every winter collection will be gone until next year.

  • I think for Blight a significant part of "any decent Blight is a 4k" comes from the fact that there are so few Blights in low and early mid mmr. I think I've only ever seen 5 of them. For contrast, I've seen 4 Hags and 5 Twins. In 200h of playing survivor (not much I know, but I did specify which brackets I was talking about).

So there's not a lot of time to learn to play against them until you're against really good ones

For Nurse, there are some very harsh builds possible on her. But otherwise, she's actually really fun to chase against, regardless of the result. She's possible to chase, it's just very different from looping other killers.

  • Happy "DH is in the shrine" week !

Though honestly it's not that bad, anyone who knows how to use it obviously already has it.

I'm ######### at timing and the Oni's hitbox feels like it's as large as my fridge, so my personal counter is "baby going into a locker until power runs out". Not very efficient, but hey, Oni scares me okay ! X)

  • Here's to hoping the Finisher Mori got scrapped as well.

  • People used to say that killers would have more time and power after 6.1 and that surely it would make them play fairer, right ?

    Cue early 3v1 slowdown meta.

I don't think the power role should get more power to appeal to the good in their heart to play fairer. People who already play fair won't change, and people who play optimally will have a field day as tunneling would have even less counters and essentially guarantee the win.

Not to touch on how you're essentially punishing people, including very casual players, for being with friends.

It's sad to say, but in DbD's case if you want people to play fairer you need to enforce it through game mechanics and not just try to incentive.

  • As killer, it's happened before that I've had a couple of survivors who really wanted chases, and who went about it the polite way rather than being taunting. Mostly they just hovered around me, trying to take chase if I was with other people and the rest of the time just waiting for me to turn around to see them.

They weren't the best teammates by any means, they didn't really help the others with the gens, but they were really good at chasing and honestly super fun, going for lots of FOV techs I wasn't used to facing. When I lost them, they would just wait in the open for me to find them again or give a single clic for me to hear them. They would flashlight save the two solos but not each other, so I still had a chance to sacrifice them. It was more of a "you can have the solos but you'll have to go through us first" situation, haha.

Both of them died eventually, and one of the gen jockeys escaped through hatch, but even though I lost quite some time to chasing them, this game was really fun, and it wouldn't have been any less if they'd escaped.

  • I'd love it if map offerings were removed. They're cluttering my inventory on my survivors, as I never use them, and if they were removed, that would free some space for items. I could maybe get more than a brown toolbox by bloodweb !

And get more addons as killer instead of having to depressingly buy Eyrie's offering, haha !

So at the end of a match in overwatch you can assign 2 endorsements to members of your team (who aren't on your friends list) when you get an endorsement it pops up and tells you which is quite nice. Nothing takes a sting out of a loss than rando teammates giving you a virtual thumbs up in recognition of you playing well.

You also have an endorsement level, which is determined by how many endorsements you recieve. It's visible in the postgame so a public display of how positively your teammates see you. And you get periodic battle pass exp based on your endorsement level.

It's a nice system and since dbd already has a button for it might as well make it mean something because as far as I can tell giving a player an upvote in the post game report system does precisely nothing.

That sounds really nice, thanks for taking the time to explain me ! =)

Yh people are always the issue aren't they? Lol

tbh I'm thinking maybe something like the system I see in overwatch would be good. You accrue upvotes, and it gives you occasional in game rewards if your upvote level is high. Maybe iridescent shards, BP, the odd auric cell here and there. But in an ideal world would love to see exclusive "Good sport" cosmetics that mark players as considerate players.

But it's always an issue with antagonistic roles like killer survivor. Hence why I wouldn't add a downvote. A lot of players would just downvote anyone they lost against.

I don't know Overwatch, so that's why I might have been a bit off the mark in my observations haha.

    But yeah, people. X)

I think a downvote would be an extremely bad idea, you're right. But what you're thinking of with upvotes would be really nice. I'd think to give more people thumbs up if it really did something. Sometimes I encounter really cool randoms, but don't even bother to leave the good remark since I know no one will even read them.

  • I'd usually say that people who'll want to sweat and get easy wins would come haunt the casual mode, but if the rewards for ranked are sufficient (like you're offering) I guess that shouldn't be too much of a problem !

I'm not sure about the upvote system for the casual mode though : people just don't have the same scale of what deserves an upvote. I usually thumbs up the nice players who show good manners, not necessarily the best players I encounter. I know others thumbs up the players that are really good.

I would absolutely love for the thumbs up system to bring rewards. Punishing bad conduct is a must, but rewarding good behaviour would probably make people be less agressive.

  • The consensus seems to be that if you don't have a good enough internet connection to play online pvp games without impacting negatively on other players' experience, then you shouldn't be playing online pvp games.

Maybe you'll have a more stable connection in the future, but until then I'd advise against playing DbD, lest your penalty edcalates to "permanently" and makes you waste your money.

Every time I've taken Awakened Awareness (and usually on Wesker), I have been confronted with the idea that Survivors really hate being in my terror radius, let alone 20m. Taking Agitation might help walk 'em into it, but it's just "ok, nobody's around, I guess I'm a little more flashlight proof". It's basically discount Lightborn... xD

That may be because of the number of Weskers playing Starstruck. It was about 1/3 to 1/2 Weskers I met for a good while, so I know I tend to stay a bit further away from him if I can.

It lasts up to 30s after the gates are opened. But yes, it's an endgame perk that promptly goes away as soon as you get into true endgame, for... no apparent reason. And even if it didn't, it wouldn't be a great pick

(I also feel like Wesker's one of those fun examples of a Killer whose perks are almost uniformly bad: Superior Anatomy can't keep up with Survivor vaulting, has a CD, and requires you to be on their ass in the first place--i.e. too many balancing factors at once; Terminus borks itself nearly as soon as the gate opens AND forces broken at the weirdest time; and Awakened Awareness has a low enough range it requires suicidally altruistic Survivors to ever do anything... and on top of all this, none of those perks gel with his kit at all, I fluked into the adept)

I think they're maybe a bit too situational. Awakened Awareness can be really good, especially on indoor maps or if you're taking Agitation to be able to walk around a little bit. I've definitely been found through it a few times when I had sabo builds or just happened to be working where the chase ended.

Uniformingly bad is Wraith in my opinion. Only somewhat useful is Shadowborn I guess, but for wider pov I go for Monitor and Abuse because at least I get a nicer TR.

  • I personally don't like voice lines, except for Pinhead's. He has a nice deep voice and it's rare enough to go against him and hear them, so it remains cool.

I think others are kind of annoying. Not being a fan of RE, Wesker's are more irritating to hear than anything else.

I don't mind BHVR bringing voice lines to killers as long as they put an option to disable them for the players who don't like them. =)

I kind of wonder the same about Terminus. Aside from Plague doing weird shenanigans, "people stay broken" is a bit... lacklustre. It's only good to prevent healing to full and coming back for a coordinated rescue before the gates are opened, and after they're opened (assuming someone has been hooked), that's still 4 minutes of time to rescue and it only works for 30s.

    'Vaguely disincentivise 99ing' ain't great.

Does it cancel after gates are opened ? I don't have Wesker so I never really gave the perk thought.

Maybe it could get an effect that after being injured, you are broken for 30s or something. Wouldn't be coherent with the name, but it wouldn't be the first perk like this and it would prevent heals mid chase, syptic agents and the like.

  • Congrats on not sucking at survivor I guess ?

Because survivor being too easy is clearly very subjective. My (most regular) SWF partner and I barely escape once every 6-7 games or so. And it's not even like we're facing sweaty builds or scummy tactics. Most killers we seee at the moment are playing exceptionally fair.

We're casuals in every way, playing underused perks (my regular build revolves around Dance With Me and my friend's around Deception, no DH, no PT, and if we bring items, it's yellow with yellow addons or lower item rarity) and taking losses as they come.

By a logic I see in a LOT of killers on these forums, losing more than two games in a row should make us flip the switch into forever abandoning relaxed builds and going full meta and scummy tactics. We have the perks necessary too. And a good hoard of rare items and addons that we never use.

Yet we don't. And we take the Ls.

(I have that same attitude when playing killer btw, and the fact that it naturally results in more relaxed games as mmr does its thing has already made some hardcore killers call me a cheat for "mmr manipulation" and "smurfing"...dudes, I'm just accepting the loss, not hacking into BHVR's HQ or something)

If survivor was as a role too easy, we'd still make do without meta.

I'm happy your answer won't be to "get good", though we're trying.

As a detail, a lot of killers players don't seem to realize that nerfing survivor more will make their own games harder (not even touching on their queue times). We've seen it with 6.1. Some people joyfully taunted survivor mains saying they were boosted by their perks and that they'd be put in their right place in mmr. The same people, a few weeks later as mmr settled after 6.1., complained that they were only facing sweat squads. Yeah. You're getting the survivors from the bracket above yours, who fell down to your bracket. Of course the games are going to be as hard, if not harder.

    Anyway.

Sorry this turned into a vent of my own. Hope your killer games get settled into a more positive outcome for you.

  • I don't think DH needs a fix. It's already the hardest exhaustion perk to use, with its ridiculously short duration. It's ping gambling as well.

Makes sense that it has good rewards if it won't work consistently otherwise.

  • Mine was pretty unorthodox and more focused on learning not to get frustrated or hurt by my opponent's attitude, more than learning how to play optimally.

It came after a first few killer games of getting extremely lucky and being matched with very nice survivors. I was still losing, but they were on the wholesome side, offering kills or items, I can also remember one showing me the way through Midwich when I was lost... These games set a precedent for me to grow into a mindset that most survivors are really not mean or cocky. Most are just casual players like me who aren't playing specifically to ruin my day.

I play more to have fun than to win, so I always play very fair. Whether because of that or from luck, I did not encounter BM very often while practicing and growing in skill, but when I did, I'd do something very stupid but that weirdly worked.

If a survivor teabagged me after a pallet stun for example, I'd headbang until we both moved on from the bit. That way, it was not them making fun of me, it was both of us memeing together. As I said, it's stupid, but it made me feel better. They usually stopped trying to tilt me afterwards, either because they thought I was chill or funny or because it was not satisfying anymore if I looked like I enjoyed it as banter.

I've also taken to being positive in endgame what, wishing good games next whatever the outcome and sometimes complimenting my opponent(s) if they did very well. That usually makes them relax and start being positive towards me as well.

Now, a few months later, I'm not a great killer, but I very rarely encounter mean survivors. I'm still a bit more stressed to play killer purely because it's more intense than survivor games, but I'm not anxious to see BMing survivors anymore.

As for the learning to get more skilled at killer, just familiarizing myself with the killer's power and trying not to revert back to M1 if I can. Also learning to drop chases and to not go for the taunting survivor if there is one, because chances are they'll just follow you around instead of doing gens, and that's 2 pairs of hands off of the generators.

Why in the world do you want to look like a lawnmower while carrying a survivor? I’m assuming the point of the perk is for when somebody goes in for a body block, the killer will not get any penalty for failing to miss the hit. And if successful, the wiggle gets paused for a moment.

I don’t think the perk is there for the killer to spam the hit button so they look like a lawnmower while carrying a survivor.

It's not there for it, but it's a part of the perk's charm ! X)

  • Ngl, I like the shampoo metaphor.

My favourite dumb survivor experience was a Claudette who was looping the killer RIGHT under my nose as I was hooked, didn't even leave with her injured speed boost, resulting in me dying. Girl, what were you doing ? Forget the killer, you were camping me !

That being said, I've seen a lot of killers come back to camp to second stage, which is a pretty scummy strat. Not invalid, but scummy. And in this case, good luck making a smart unhook if you can't coordinate with your team !

  • The animation is so long some survivors' internet can't handle it ! 😱

This moment when all escaped survivors with 7.500 BPs for escaping are still coming in behind the dead survivor 🤣

    Yeah, that's always funny !

To be fair, it was during the Halloween event, and since I didn't want to be looped all game (only a reasonable amount) I did leave Nea alone for a good part of the game to go pressure the others, so she had a lot of time to do gens and place her void energy in the rifts, which the others didn't have as much time to do.

I still gave her attention halfway through so that her game was not too boring either and she could get chase points as well. I figured a high prestige like this gets dodged a lot (she didnt switch last second, went into it upfront that she was P93, which I respect), so I still wanted it to be worth her while. I know not everyone is content just slamming gens, especially if they've got a flashlight on (never clicked either).

It was very informative and that's about all I expected from that game. Seeing them be so well mannered in win was a nice bonus !

I really wish there was a button to wait for a more accurate match. I know most people wouldn't click it even high level swfs who win most games, but I would. Although my big issue with that is it would probably just result in squads running 4 med-kits with anti-hems instead of their skill level actually improving too much. I've been gloating in forums for the past month about 12:00-4AM on NA having pretty accurate matches but all of a sudden I guess due to Christmas break, I feel myself going against players not up to me. So that check box for accurate matches would make me play more for sure.

Same ! I genuinely wouldn't mind waiting longer to find a match if it's to have opponent(s) well suited to my level. =)

  • I feel you, but at the same time, I think one major issue might be matchmaking being super lenient. For instance, this was my second game ever as Clown :

    Lobby of Doom Part 2.png

(At least they were super nice, both during and after the game, which is fortunately common enough for me. I'm also pretty sure the Nea gave me the kill, since I was patrolling the gate on The Game and she had all the time in the world to find hatch)

I think matchmaking being lenient is the first thing to adress to deal with squad SWFs without harming casual SWFs that aren't that good. Because if a SWF really is very good, escapes a lot more than they would if they were not in a group, then logically matchmaking takes care of that and puts them in front of killers who can handle them.

The problem is not the SWF (BM notwithstanding), it's the fact that they're matched with killers who are not ready to handle them.

When I SWF with my friend, we're chatting about other stuff, and we die like 70% of the time. We're not a danger to anyone, so a better matchmaking would not affect us negatively. However, if Mark, Tim and Jen are a tight team that have designated roles and call out killer position at all time, have 3E and 4Es often and still find time to gloat at the gate, then clearly they we can skip a couple of mmr levels and put them directly in front of killers that are more experienced than the ones they're facing.

Maybe make gaining mmr cumulative, and if you're on a winstreak you win increasingly more mmr ?

That way, there is no need to be bulk nerfs to SWF, only buffs to average and lower tier killers so that they can compete on higher mmr brackets. Hopefully, buffs directly at their power and not in sheer numbers, so that it becomes more interesting. I'd love for the Clown's yellow bottles to be easier to use, or for Nemesis's zombies to finally have a working AI or collision failsafes when they're glitched into a bush.

    Anyway.

    Food for thought !

  • If a perk only happens once, iy should at least have a notable effect. Especially if it's gotten through fair play and spread out hooks.

Endgame perks particularly. There's a reason Adrenaline is good and balanced. If it's a gamble whether it will happen at all, it's effect needs to be good.

Same with Blood Warden, No Way Out, and I really, really wish it was the same with Grim Embrace. That perk deserves a serious buff.

Oh I see you're using sabo to see hook locations and which ones are Scourages, that's fair and a good use for the perk just a shame the sabo speed itself is so bad but there are times I completely over look a hook lol

I dont have too much issue with DH tbh, only time iv had trouble is on 120ms which shouldn't really happen. Just harder to use compared to the old.

And that's okay I'm always happy to help or give advice to help do certain things :) currently I'm messing around with firecrackers since the Christmas event Bloodwebs give so many haha

Firecrackers sound nice, but I'm staying away from them for now !

The extent of my experience with them so far was taking one with me, promptly forgetting my new mouse is much more sensitive than my old one, and proceeding to accidentally blind both myself and the random ttv who was healing me.

Needless to say, I'm still a lil embarassed ! X)

  • Oh, I haven't seen one of these yet. Most Cenobites I go against are perfectly neutral as killers, not particularly kind but very rarely scummy or BMing. I know he's got a nasty reputation, but I'm always content seeing it's him on the UI, because I know it's gonna be a tough but overall fair game.

I'll be on the lookout for this tactic !

I feel like anyone who isn't doing other stuff on christmas day of all days, certainly at this time, is going to be a fairly antisocial sweaty gamer.

Games will probably be a bit more chill this evening once all the drunk people get on after spending time with the family lol

I know me and my swf are planning a drunk by daylight session later. And I'm already 5 drinks in lol.

This sounds hilarious. I should do one as well with a couple of friends !

  • That looks sick !

Unfortunately can't say I got any DbD stuff, but I sure will treat myself to some merch at some point. =)

  • It happens sometimes, I made a bug report about it some time ago.

The devs don't have enough info to know exactly what is going on when it happens, so any info or game logs are probably welcome !

  • I played a dozen games yesterday, and got ggez'd twice by killers, which is twice more than I've had in my last 200h.

That being said, I also had a lot of merry christmas and happy holidays in the chat, which was very nice, and met maybe the fairest, most chill Huntress I've ever seen.

So definitely not all bad ! =)

  • My first reaction was "hey, why not ?" but after some thought, I don't know.

0Ks are already significantly rarer than 3Ks and 4Ks. I feel like most times they're well deserved... Any thing I can think of that would work similarly to hatch (aka affect the 4rth survivor after 3 have already escaped) would just eliminate 0ks from the board at all considering it would make last minute saves (which require tremendous coordination, especially for split lobbies) not worth attempting.

    Still food for thought !

In the meantime, I'll keep offering kills to cute killers who'd have a 0K otherwise.

Oh neat! I personally dont use perks to do with it as I find them very meh, I'm pretty sure saboteur is the slowest way to sabo a hook other than the one toolbox?

I personally just use a brown toolbox and try keep track of hook locations and which ones that may want to go for, obviously more situational than what you're trying but definitely satisfying and the killers hate you lol.

I'm glad you're having fun with something else though! Maybe you can try DH so so can sabo the hook and DH to get away for free? Need a pretty fast sabo toolbox though so keep that in mind.

Nice to see another hook sabo survivor! Rarely see it so go you!

And thankyou Hope you have a merry holidays yourself! :)

I'll keep that in mind ! I have literally 0 object permanence though so I was using Saboteur more for the aura than anything else, I had a yellow toolbox with sabo speed for the actual deed. =)

I've never used DH but from what I'm hearing it might be a little too precise and ping dependant for me to use consistently... I'll definitely think about it ! For now I don't even have room in my builds for exhaustion, haha. I'll see what I can part with !

Thanks for the advices ! =D

  • I don't necessarily agree.

I think it might depend on people, but I generally familiarize myself with a killer much quicker than I do survivor, and get satisfactory games very early and steadily. On the other side, I've got twice as many hours on survivor and I'm still booty cheeks at it.

  • Hi EntitySpawn !

I believe few weeks back we chatted about flashlight changes and you mentioned preferring sabo plays nowadays.

I've tried Breakout/Saboteur this afternoon, and though I'm still not a confident enough survivor that it doesn't essentially mean a trade, it was still very satisfying when it worked out to spare death hook teammates.

Thanks for the suggestion, have merry winter holidays !

  • Only way I've found to do it is sometimes if you're in a corner or against a wall, chains will miss you and hit the wall.

Its generally not useful enough for the perk slot is the bigger issue. People even in this topic have made that argument against windows, but its especially true with zanshin. Its extremely hard to justify when too many perks feel either necessary due to the game's design, or multiple slots taken up by necessary synergy combinations for certain perks. Its not so much that its worthless as it is not being worth its minimum "cost" of a spot.

    That's fair =)

  • As others have said, after 9 you don't really gain anything.

However, since you are forced to prestige once you've completed the lvl 50 of the bloodweb, if you want to keep playing a character you like and have cosmetics on, your items are going to run out eventually so you'll have to keep prestiging them.

That's part of why lobby dodging because of prestige is silly sometimes. Sure, a P90 has probably played the game a LOT and I understand the nervousness. But one of my friends is lobby dodging anyone above P5, when we're both P5 ourselves on our mains and still pretty terrible survivors. X)

Thinking that Windows is a beginner-only perk is the best way to out yourself as one.

I'm not saying it's exclusively for beginners. I'm saying it's especially nice to have as a beginner.

Nor am I hiding in any way that I'm on the lower end of average. It's not something I'm ashamed of. =)

  • Most players are average skillled on both sides.

You'll rarely see super strong survivor teams in mid mmr (not even touching on low). Some teams will feel super strong but they're most likely outplaying you (and I say this as a Hag player that a lot of survivors have mopped the floor with at intermediate level, without objectively being a top SWF).

Is the game survivor sided in general ? No.

Is it survivor sided on some specific brackets ? Maybe ! Or at least sweaty-SWf-sided. But that's nothing new as the game is also killer sided on other brackets, namely low mmr.

I think a user above me described it well. People who want to win the hardest will usually do. "Scummy" tactics are well rewarded in this game, so if you want to win that bad as to disregard the fun of your opponents (which you don't owe them) or good sportsmanship, nothing is stopping you and you'll most likely rise to the top.

  • I think the problem is less SWF and more that your friends are jerks telling you what you can and can't do.

Solo would be a respite for me as well if my (most regular) duo partner was the same.

As it stands, we don't even always know what perks the other is bringing because we're too busy chatting about other stuff. We're just... playing casual together. And if I want to bring exotic perks he's always "alright, good luck!" and not "you should take this instead".

I'm not big on PvP games, I usually really dislike them, I'm more of a solo games person. These are usually my relief from doing lots of social things(tm).

Yet DbD is a game that really makes me feel lonely if I play on my own. Including killer. I usually play killer while on call with friends who are playing killer on their end as well, or are on completely other games. When I play killer alone, I'll be more likely to just throw and become friendly mid game.

I've tried SoloQ a bit, but it feels that way to me. I'd rather play with a friend or two.

I respect that some people prefer SoloQ though ! Just not my thing. =)

  • This kind of posts make me happy to be as bad at the game as I am. X)

Down here in lower mid there's plenty of variety. I have yet to see an Eruption in the last 20 survivor games I've played !

Haven't seen a Nurse either, now that I think of it...

Maybe being ######### at the game has its advantages X)
