Rather agree. I'm ######### at timing and I don't trust latency, so I don't use DH (in most of my builds, I don't even have an exhaustion perk).
And every time I get hit by DH when I play killer, it's because I jumped the gun on hitting instead of waiting 0.5 second. I can live with that.
-
Imagine the ######### day Jill must have had when she was first taken into the fog. First you're learning that you're forever stuck in a loop of running dying rinse and repeat, and then next thing you know there's a nerd running up to you screaming "Oh my god you're Jill from Resident Evil !!!!!".
-
True !
I haven't read all of her lore, but I think your logic stands.
I don't know what could have been done as a new boon, considering running speed, healing, stealth and self-pickup are already covered. Maybe chase action speed, to make it pair well with Dark Theory ?
Her perks ARE quite bad. Only reason I got the adept was, of all things, a merciful Bubba giving me hatch.
-
Any killer with Beast of Prey.
(okay, maybe not all of them, but I thought it's a neat lore detail in a pretty unnoticed perk)
-
I like this theory !
I would like it a bit more if Hag had light eyes as well, but it would not go with her esthetics. She might also have been driven completely to madness before being taken and not need any more manipulation or prompting.
-
I don't know, but I think they might still have past progress, just be unavailable to play.
I had a friend sharing his library with me a couple of years ago. I used to play some games he owned when he was not connected, particularly Darkest Dungeon.
When we had a falling out and removed our mutual access to the other's library, I bought Darkest Dungeon, and was surprised to see that it still had all my progress from when I was playing from my friend's library.
So maybe you don't have access anymore because you don't own the DLC, but it might have saved your progress in the files.
It might work differently with DbD, but I hope not for you =)
-
I generally don't like voice lines. I can think they're neat the first couple of times I hear them but playing against Wesker just irritates me now (and I suspect playing him would be worse as it would be every game). Pinhead has a nice deep voice and funny voice lines, so I like his. Wesker's voice is urh.
Anyway. This is not about our dear Albert.
I don't like voice lines, I don't want to see more into the game lest it becomes a noisy mess like Evil Dead Game, BUT.
If there had to be one more killer with voice lines, I guess Pig would be okay.
-
I literally cannot comprehend how a .5 difference made it go from 20% to 22% to 8% (+12 but it rarely happens unless you play Plague or Legion).
Lots of noise for a barely buffed perk which was clearly not used that much before.
I mean, I never used the perk (even as a Legion main, people heal so much against me that Nurse's served me better) so I'm not super sad to see it gone from my survivor games, but I do feel it was done dirty in a rushed nerf. In this way, Thana was the scapegoat that was sacrificed to make the 6.1. outrage die down a little.
-
I'm into metal and rock mostly, along with some video game music, with a strong dislike for rap. I don't really care for pop, but if I like something that's been done with a song (like, if it was used for an animation I like), it will grow on me. From this, basically any genre is fair game if there's been something cool done with it that I watched a bunch.
-
Just starting out, finishing my last year of university. I'm tired all the time.
I'm happy that I have found things I enjoy, I'm carving time out of my sleeping and studying schedule to do art, animation, and see some friends. I'm hoping it will get better once I won't have job + classes but just job.
The position I should get to after my studies will already have a correct salary, and I'm a pretty stingy person, so overall it should be fine. I knew when I chose my subject of studies that I would not find fulfillment there but in my hobbies. It's just about the money and having time for things I enjoy.
I just hope it works out.
-
I already have a lot of fun with Hag cosmetics, would also love to detach my Bunny Legion head piece from the set to place it on other cosmetics.
I feel like a random guy wearing a large bunny head would be somewhat scarier ! xD
-
I typically am not near the hook when people get unhooked.
-
I think it's a good change.
4Ks are not that hard to get organically after playing a few games, so I wouldn't say it would necessarily make slugging for the 4K obligatory.
-
Those are interesting, but I think if something is to be done about camping and tunneling, it should be done base kit. Otherwise it's gonna be a Reassurance situation, where no one actually uses it because it's one less perk slot.
-
Oh, those are nasty.
Killer might be laggy. From my understanding of past discussions on the subject, any lag that isn't extremely severe will be to the benefit of killer in terms of hit validation. If the survivor is within range on their screen, doesn't matter if they're on the other side of a pallet or 3 feet away, the hit will count.
Works that way because otherwise killer can't really guess where the survivor is leading them.
-
Not good enough to encounter super high prestige regularly, so I play the odd P93 in my games of P10 survivors.
However, I don't like the idea of being free entertainment.
I shouldn't be as cautious around content creators, most streamers I've gone against were actually very sweet, but I'm just not comfortable with that and it makes me play worse, I feel.
-
I like the proposal.
That it should be change to this or something else, I don't really care.
To be fair, I'm too low mmr on survivor to even encounter Eruption frequently. I just think your idea is neat. Maybe add that the gens get blocked for a little time like DMS, to remain the heart of the slowdown without making survivors incapacitated. That way gens are still on cooldown but survivors can at least open a chest or something.
-
A close one with the ingame challenge tracker !
-
I think it's too soon to say.
I can't play Nurse, but I always enjoy going against her, and I'm looking forward to seeing how her rework will be ingame.
If she does remain on top of everything, she might be tweaked again. Or not. She already seems harder to learn, and it's not fair to balance only at the top 1%.
-
I don't think "Nothing should change", as there are adjustments to do on both sides, but I don't agree with your other options either.
I think survivors will be in a pretty nice spot once the action icons will be in place. They will still have some useless or way too situational perks, but so do killers !
I actually think some killers should receive slight buffs and QoL to their own kit, especially after the icons come. No bulk buffs to all killers, but time, love and care to killers that feel a little clunky or underpowered. Not even necessarily lower tier either. Hag could use some QoL or even slight buffs specific to her chase playstyle to incentive less camping, and Blight has some funky hitboxes on some maps.
I think some survivor items need to get looked at as well. High rarity toolboxes and medkits particularly, with the right addons, are too strong. I generally use a brown medkit to get one independent heal throughout the game, but if I load into a lobby and see all my teammates have medkits and toolboxes I empathize with killer and remove my own item for things to be a little fairer.
And I really would love if we could have a wave of perk buffs : not a perk overhaul where perks get arbitrarily nerfed for their usage numbers, but were we take a look at which perks never come into play and why. I think there are some pretty good candidates on both sides that could receive buffs.
So no, survivors as a whole don't need a bulk buff right now. The icons will do just fine =)
-
I struggle as well and often revert to m1, only using the shroud for mindgames at tall wall loops.
It's a bit silly how if you've got some nice progress on someone you can't m1 them without losing it, makes for some goofy situations where you're like "Oh no ! You saw me ! I'll have to come back later !! My revenge will be terrible !
I do know it's a skill issue on my end.
As a Legion enthusiast, I can't sit still and watch someone do a gen, I gotta stabby stab !
That being said, Ghostie really shines in late game. I wouldn't worry about losing a gen or two.
-
Agree with pretty much everything but 8, but that's just because I was not around then so I can't judge which one is better =)
-
I feel like this post is accidentally more powerful as it is now than it could ever be otherwise X)
-
Respectfully disagree. Not being able to get more than a few nodes by survivor game was miserable. Now is good.
If rarest items are too frequent, their odds can be lowered, or their effects can be nerfed.

I don't think that solves issues. In fact it removes any possible feelings of guild the initial DC'er would have. It's simple harsher punishment's are needed. Although I am probably a rarity I want to alt+f4 the second a survivor DC game is over. It just kills any want to play the game when that happens for me.
I think DC'ers already don't feel guilt. They wouldn't DC if they did.
What I suggested could work paired with a harsher penalty.
-
NOED, because I no longer expect it.
Insidious, because Bubba.
But that's about it on killer. Most times I'm annoyed it's because of attitude or scummy strats that usually have nothing to do with individual perks, OR it's strong perks so nothing to write about here.
On survivors...
I rarely pay attention to what my survivors were bringing, so I can't tell if I've been bummed by aura perks before.
I guess Lightweight, because my object permanence is nonexistant, so sometimes I'll need to track the survivor and Lightweight makes it harder. I've definitely lost survivors because of that before.
-
DC penalty should get a rework. Be extended and slower to recover.

I'm starting to not see the value in the 4% attempt. At this point it is just an excuse to get around the DC timer. If you have deliverance it can just I've you an activation prompt.
I think the value is a myth. I have literally never kobe'd in several hundred hours of playing !
... I don't really try to often I guess. But just from killing myself on hook to give a chance at hatch to the last teammate, I should have racked up a certain number of attempts, like... at least 60. Still no kobe =(
-
It does sound silly.
However, I do understand why it works that way. I don't know how many hits on hook a killer can fit during a first phase, and they'd have pretty much nothing else to do but bm at that point.
HOWEVER, survivors who get skipped their second phase because they're the last to die should get their 900 struggle phase points. Right now they're punished for being the last to be caught. Make up a "Last one to die" score event or something, as to not get robbed of bp.

Swamp always lets me down. There are 3/4 very well hidden totem spawns and my hex totems will always, without failure, spawn in the obvious 1/2 spots right in the middle of the map with 0 cover around them.
Damn, that's rough ! I can indeed think of one that can be seen from miles away.
-
I feel lile a lot of issues would be solved if survivors were able to DC without penalty ifa teammate DC'd in the first minute(s) of the game.
Right now, games with DCs do not count towards official killrates stats. But games with a survivor DC is most of the time going to be steamrolled by killer.
This leaves survivors with a conflicting feeling that they don't escape half as much as they're supposed to according to official stats, and it amps up the sweat and the indignation towards killers, who're seen as too powerful because they die too often.
Because sure, the game gets boring as killer in a 3v1 (for some), but at least they're guaranteed kills, pretty much. So morale is still up.
If the game is "not gonna count", I don't want to die and lose my item. I want to be able to leave the match like it happens when killers DC.
-
Swamp has rarely let me down in terms of totem spots. Most of them are in map corners where survivors have no business being.
-
This was my opinion of the perk as well, before 6.1. I don't like perks I can't get value of throughout the game, let alone after the 9 first seconds ! I thought my friend was stupid for using it often.
BUT.... Since it's joined my build on Nemesis....
I can say that you shouldn't get stuck on the "only 9 seconds?!" first feeling regarding the perk. Entering a first chase very early on is so good on some killers. It can really be worth your while to not have to guess where people spawned and if they're stealthing.
I hate to admit it, but it can be really good.
-
That is... certainly an outfit !

If it was not true they would have said so here on the forum. It's said everywhere about Bubba they would have stopped this already if it was just a rumor.
I mean, I'm sure plenty of people are buying the DLC by fear of it getting removed.
So delaying the clarification would not be an unwise marketing decision.
-
Better Than New
Since gen speed got removed, you're only giving other survivors an incentive to do nothing useful to the team.
-
I don't think the HUD will bring toxicity.
I think toxic people, who already self-righteously seek to "punish" others, will latch onto all they can to be toxic.

By a little information do you mean total and complete information at all times for no cost to the survivors?
I cannot figure in what dimension simple icons are total and complete information, but I'd sure like to live there. =)
-
Hum... Chill ?
The devs are literally testing a way for survivors to have a little more information right now.
It's a slow progress, but they're balancing for both sides.

I'm curious what region you play in? After playing in several different regions I've noticed some general differences between how nice or chill people seem to be in game and end game chat. Overall I think the toxicity of the community is an over exaggeration. There are a lot of cool and decent people who play the game and certain DBD streamers are particularly very wholesome and inclusive for a PVP game.
I don't know about OP, but I live in France and get matched with people all around EU. I've made Polish, British, Hungarian and Turkish friends, and am sometimes matched with an absolutely sweet Plague from Spain. =)
-
What you're talking about is nearly my exact experience so far ! Very few trolls, many cute and nice people. I've made great friends on this game.
Especially when I play killer, as that is when I can best set the mood for the game. I play very fair and the survivors generally relax as well, and I tend to be positive in endgame chat (if I don't have anything positive to contribute, I just don't engage) so people are nice as well towards me.
I've been encouraged by my most skilled opponents very often, had very cute moments in game, and I wouldn't trade that for the longest winstreak of all. It's just how I like the game !
-
I play DBD because my friends and I enjoy it. On its own, I would have never started playing, or probably would have stopped playing within 50h.
At first, it was the only reason. Then I got into the lore, and then I started playing killer and having fun on the game on my own ! I still prefer prefer playing on call with someone (even when playing killer), but I can have fun on my own as well. Playing silly and friendly as killer is my favourite role.
I made several good friends by playing killer and chatting in postgame chat with the survivors. I have a lot of good memories on the game now, and a good faith in the people I run into.
-
Would be busted for powerful addons...
Plus you find plenty in the bloodweb, so at some point you'd have even more of a useless hoard in your inventory.
-
Sorry, I have finals this week =(
Will be back with more Legion and Hag very soon =D

Ignore the terrible gameplay, and the outcome of the match (the survivors were goofing off), just how tricky it was to line up the snuff prompt. (approx. 7:10)
This ! I don't remember precisely on which map it is, but I think it might be a Crotus Prenn or Macmillan one ? But on one realm there is a totem spot right next to a locker, in the corner of a wall.
The number of times I've accidentally opened the locker instead of snuffed the boon is irrational. For some reason if you're not precisely on the boon, the game goes "Want to open that locker that's a foot to your left ? Gotcha dude ! <3"
-
It's on Steam as well.
Sometimes I'll also be glitched out of a lobby while my friend stays in it : I'm replaced by a solo player and Friend has to leave the lobby for both of us to queue up again.
-
For killer : I'll join you on the hex train ! I think hexes should be replaceable on a different dull totem. It would take some time, not be immediate like Pentimento, but maybe take 10 to 15 seconds like booning a totem. That way it still has a downsides and breaking totems is stil meaningful, but you can replace your Blood Favour or your Ruin. Tokens would not carry over, to prevent Devour being broken. However, you could put Devour and Undying and replace Undying if you really want to protect it.
For survivor : base kit Kinship or Decisive Strike. If everyone knew that everyone has kinship, there would be a meaningful counter to camping more interesting than just coming for trades. Similarly, if everyone knew that everyone had Decisive Strike, killers whould bother less to tunnel.
Oh well, since I kinda gave 2 to survivor, I'll join the Corrupt Basekit train as well ! Would be nice setting my web with an extra perk instead of Corrupt. =)
-
I don't know about that as survivor as my max prestige is 6.
However.
As killer (and not that good at it, I'm definitely in lower average) I happen sometimes to see P90-P100, which is always immediately frightening.
I generally don't dodge, because if they're really good, it's an occasion to learn.
I'll try and go for others at first to secure some points, then give them a chase at 3 gens left and commit until I down them. If it happens fast, I'll just keep playing the game as usual because they're apparently on my level.
If they're looping me for days, I'll switch into study mode and try and see how they use the loops and chains. I'm a terrible survivor and it's not everyday I get a great example of really good looping from a killer's point of view to see what they're seeing and not seeing, what they're doing wrong. I'm lucky that most times I encounter such survivors, they're really good sports and not teabagging and such.
If I manage to down them before the gates are opened, I'll hook them and let the others rescue. If I'm downing them and the gates are already opened, and they did not BM, I generally have built a healthy amount of respect for them and will drop them near gate (if it's within walking distance), or just say no to a hook and let them wiggle out. I might get some more practice out of them that way ! =)
It just feels wrong for them to die to a subpar killer like me ! X)
Most times though, they won't need me to let them go as their teammates will have their back. =)

Just wanted to clarify both of these are wrong, as oblivious still lets you see the killers red light and aura, what you are talking about is undetectable.
Looks like we're all on fire with game knowledge haha ! X)
