Sorry for my tone. It did come off as aggressive.
About them being powerful: Both of these killers have enough lethality and mobility to outperform every other killer in the game by a wide margin while also trivializing solo players and most swfs. They are powerful killers.
Blight/Nurse being mechanically demanding does not change the fact that they are strong (to an unfair degree) . MFT was also bad on unskilled players, while being too rewarding and too strong when used by skilled loopers.
My understanding of your stance is that simpler killers "should" be weaker than Blight/Nurse/Wesker/etc due to having lower Mechanical skill requirements. Am i misunderstanding you here? And to what degree should they be weaker?
Because if that is your stance then i fundamentally disagree. Not only is mechanical skill only a portion of skill but thinking the game should be unbalanced like that comes off as very unreasonable. Especially if these simple killers being strong does not affect you negatively. Hence the "personal issue" comment. But It was a rude comment . Sorry about that as well.
Thank you for apologizing, I truly appreciate it.
I don’t disagree. They are indeed very powerful killers, as are wesker, oni, and even alien and nemesis in the right hands. I don’t really play nurse, so I don’t really have the grounds to talk about her much. I don’t like looking at the ground half the game…
For blight, I feel like the only thing that makes him feel OVERpowering is his addons. Specifically c33, because it allows people who are otherwise trash at blight still seem OP. Blight at base can still be extremely powerful, but the amount of mechanical input, game knowledge, knowledge of the survivors, etc… that it takes to reach that point is astounding.
You are not misunderstanding me. Maybe I need to elaborate more on my stance. In terms of POWER, yes, those simple killers should never touch the power of blight. There’s no way you could justify Freddy’s power being on par with Blight’s power Freddy simply places down snares or even more simply places fake pallets. There is really nothing to him. No skill involved outside of skills involved with playing the killer role. As for the degree of difference… I think the strong killers are in good spots (excluding some of blight’s addons). I would totally be up for some of the weaker killers being buffed, I just think the gap should be maintained in accordance with the amount of knowledge and skill needed to use a killer’s power.
-
Same thing happens to me a ton. Get accused of cheating simply for having good game sense, and good headphones. Even on the survivor side, I get accused of speed cheating… but in reality it’s just MFT and efficient pathing.
It’s the main reason I can’t take all the cheating threads in here serious. Almost all of them sound like the same people accusing me of cheating.
I haven’t seen a single cheater since the big ban wave and update on cheating. Not a single one, and I used to get those blatant cheaters ALLLLL the time. BHVR did something right.
-
@Beatricks said:
Realistically speaking, nothing. BHVR isn't going to solve the cheating issue, they aren't going to fix their broken maps and killers, nor will they make a proper matchmaking system so that games stop being completely one sided dominations.
They should probably just embrace the chaos, remove SBMM and create random based matchmaking so at least the occasional match can be fun.
In what realm are you speaking realistically? BHVR has been making a ton of changes regarding the things you’ve listed. What are you talking about?

Pretty much any big gap in "strength" between the best and the worst of something. Maps being the worst one for me. With the gap between solo and swf in second place.

"I will challenge you though. The gap between strong and weak killers is not a problem. It’s how it should be. You cannot justify a killer such as trapper, wraith, pig, or Freddy… being as strong as blight, nurse, or wesker, simply because of mechanical skill floors/ceilings."
- No amount of "mechanical skill" justifies how powerful Blight and Nurse are. Even if they where as difficult as your comment implies.
- Mechanical skill is just one aspect of skill expression. If you are a skilled at the game you can demonstrate said skill even with the simplest killers in the game.
- Balance is more important than whatever personal issue you have here. Freddy/Trapper/Pig/etc being made stronger is not going to affect you negatively. But it will make the game better for those that enjoy these characters.
Why did you comment with such passive aggressiveness? Unnecessary. Lol
1) Before you can argue this, define “powerful”. Nurse and blight are not “powerful” as they come. A baby nurse or baby blight is highly subject to being bullied. To get to my level of “powerful”, I spent countless hours learning his power.
2) Ok? Did I say it was the only skill expression? Skill expression is limited on simple killers. And that’s how it should be. There is nothing that separates good pigs/Freddy’s/trappers, etc from other good pigs/Freddy’s/trappers, BECAUSE there is no mechanical skill required to use them outside of general skills in the killer role. But with chase oriented m2 killers, good general skills combined with mechanical skill floors / ceilings allows you to become a more lethal killer, as it should.
3) Where is this “personal issue” you’re insinuating I have? Are you projecting? Did I say making these killers stronger would affect me negatively? All I said is there absolutely should be a gap between the weaker, simple killers, and the stronger, more demanding killer, because it makes sense.
If you want to debate this further, please do not put words in my mouth.

Premade teams are often no better than a solo q team. Many of them are just having fun with friends, and die to altruism.
Also… just because a group of survivors beat you, does not mean they are SWF. I promise you there are solo q teams that are spanking killers. Refusing to believe they are anything but solo q is copium.
@Chiky said:
We should have survivors in SWF marked as so in the lobby for both killer and soloQ survivors to know
Also a terrible idea. SWF would never get a game.

let alone a baby killer, even veteran players playing top tier killers won't beat a full team of good survivors but what i understand from the op is these "comp" killer tactics work wonders against solo q players that have zero clue what they are doing or just too selfish to, say, trade. just realized they edited op with lots of "soloq" in caps lmao, that was what i felt at first anyway.
if the killer happens to see you first and commits until they get you, you can carry the team, that's a possibility for sure. but what happens when you need the team? you might go down, get to a dead zone, get bhvr'd or they have lag or whatever, and your entire team swarms your hook while the killer is camping but not saving, what happens? or what if they were being a bush or a rock while you are having your "5 gen" chase? or what if the killer instantly turns the game into a 3v1 or 2v1 tunnelling your teammates? or my favorite, i trade a survivor killer is camping and i die or go 2nd on that exact same hook because noone is aware they need to save at some point.
See, I avoid all that by playing SWF 90% of my survivor games. Lol

bloodlust. killers aren't supposed to get looped for 5 gens even if they are a baby.
It’s pretty easy to avoid bloodlust with pallets that can’t be mind-gamed. Not to mention, with MFT and Fixated, I can turn shack, most haddonfield windows, goj main, etc into an infinite, avoiding being in chase at all.
A five gen chase with a baby killer is not hard at all. It’s not very often I get baby killers, but it does happen, and it’s an absolute slaughter of a game. Definitely don’t experience what OP is talking about. Tunneling does absolutely nothing unless the survivor is also garbage. Trying to tunnel a good survivor will cost you the game.

@Akumakaji said:
The game having no comeback mechanic. I get that some peeps hate the idea of the other side "getting rewarded for losing ", but right now very, very few games are balanced and always on the edge. Most of the time one side gets an early leg off and then its win more and stomp.
Of the game could somehow determine which side was doing better and somehow compensate, like blocking gens, eating pallets, closing vaults in chase or responding pallets, hide one's aura from the killer or spawn a medkit behind the wall one was hiding behind, it would keep a lot of games in the gold locks zone.
I think I could get behind a comeback mechanic, but not in a way that the game will randomly cuck me in chase because I’m looping efficiently.
It would be a massive turnoff to go down because the game decided to block a pallet or a vault to hand the killer a down to “catch up”. It would drive a lot of people away (prediction of course).
-
If they are a baby killer then why are you and the whole team going down? Baby killer is ez 5 gen chase if you’re a vet survivor.
Maybe you’re a baby survivor too…..

Well I’m in TOP MMR. Imagine only being in high mmr… that’s so last year.

I would say quality / accuracy of matchmaking.
There’s no reason I should still be getting paired with some of the players I get matched with. The skill gap is mind blowing sometimes, on both survivor and killer.
I will challenge you though. The gap between strong and weak killers is not a problem. It’s how it should be. You cannot justify a killer such as trapper, wraith, pig, or Freddy… being as strong as blight, nurse, or wesker, simply because of mechanical skill floors/ceilings.

Because playing as an M1 Killer to simply get Tokens when you could just use Black Heart for the same effect on your M2 is way better
15% does not equate the same effect as 40%. 40% m1 CD can let you land an m2 before they can even run outside the range of it.

This perk deserves big nerf and it should not work with DMS. It's just braindeadly easy value, killers should not get free slowdown like that.
Not necessarily free when you need a down + hook to activate it.

If a perk makes you go from an obvious loss to a win that easily, maybe it's time to address it and nerf it. No perk should carry anyone, remember? That works for killers as well:)
The tides can always turn. If you let you winning game turn into a loss, then you got outplayed.

Their 1v1 is probably just down to preference, but I can't stand playing a Killer with no mobility tbh. Just feels so slow and sluggish, which is why I prefer Demo and Xeno over Nemesis
I agree. His zombies make up for lack of mobility WHEN and IF they don’t get stuck in the corner of the map. xD

@Devil_hit11 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3585364#Comment_3585364
that is my point. Demo and Nemesis are not good at playing pallets but Coup is a perk to try to play dropped and undropped pallets. your better off breaking the pallet even though demo and nemesis have poor pallet breaks that accomplish nothing when survivor is good at linking pallets.
Not sure why anybody would think nemesis is not good at pallets. He’s fantastic at pallets.
-
@Huxy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3585388#Comment_3585388
I'd say the same about Xeno's Tail Attack tbh. Not only can it be dragged horizontally, it can be dragged vertically. Sure, it stops upon constant with a surface, but it's so fast that it doesn't really matter.
True, Nemesis is really good at dealing with Pallets, but a good Xeno rarely misses at Pallets anyway, so I'd say they're equal.
Where they aren't equal are at low loops. It's way easier to dodge Nemesis' Tentacle Strike at low loops than Xeno's Tail Attack because of the way their hitboxes work.
Turrets are meh. They're rarely an issue and there are Add-Ons to further mitigate their impact.
Speaking of Add-Ons, I still want Marvin's Blood reverted to its original values
You make fair points. I suppose it comes down to preference at that point. I’ve put a good amount of hours into nemesis, thus I’m very confident with his whip.
I’m fairly good with xeno as well, considering they play the same for the most part. Nemesis just feels like an absolute unit at tier 3, especially later in the game when everybody is infected and there’s not many/no vaccines left.
-
Against inexperienced killers it doesn’t really hurt you much, might even benefit. But outside of that, it’s very inefficient. You will lose distance against a killer that can path off of muscle memory, and has a decent headset. All that blind will do is cause you to lose distance.
The possible exception being if you have a perk that allows you to quickly and quietly try and mindgame the killer whilst blinded, ie light footed, urban evasion, self aware, combined with blind duration addons.
-
@Huxy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3585368#Comment_3585368
Meh. It's still way easier to dodge than Xeno's Tail Attack, you need 3 hits to down and the fact that you even need to build it up compared to the other 2 makes it the worst one imo.
Easier to dodge? That’s false. Nemmy has a dragging, lingering hitbox. Any half decent nemesis will guarantee a hit every single time. All you have to do it strafe, and you’ll get the hit.
What makes nemmy shine is he is a win / win at pallets. Every single other ranged killer either wins or loses at pallets (besides demo, kinda). If you miss your xeno tail at a pallet, you don’t get an injure/down, you lose tons of distance, AND you still have to break the pallet. Nemesis will EITHER get a down/injure, or break the pallet, and lose close to no distance.
The build up is way overestimated. I can consistently hit tier 2-3 before first gen pops. It’s really not that long. Xeno can easily be rendered into an m1 killer using turrets. A huge downside that can’t be ignored or avoided.

@Huxy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3585323#Comment_3585323
Kinda just phased out after reading
Demo and Nemesis are not good at playing pallets.
Demo's Shred is incredible at nearly every tile in the game. Only times Shred has any issues getting hits is at small, round loops, loops where Coup shines.
The charge time of Shred isn't even an issue. 0.65 seconds is nothing when you come from the long side if the loop and only 0.15 of those actually slow you down (and it isn't even a big slow).
Xeno has the best anti-loop out of Demo, Xeno and Nemesis and that isn't even a question, but I really do not know what it has to do with STBFL being a trap Perk and outclassed by Coup, other than it not needing it (which Demo doesn't need either to do well).
Xeno does not have better antiloop than nemesis. Nemesis has some of the best antiloop in the game when you get it to tier 3, which does absolutely not take long if you consistently land whips.

But that doesn’t solve anything. It just moves the issue.
Because then those that hide their prestiges are gonna get dodged non-stop, regardless of their actual prestige level.
If you mean that the killer can choose to not see prestiges… those that dodge because of prestige are not gonna enable that, are they?
That’s YOUR prediction. You have zero evidence to prove that. Flip side, I have no evidence to disprove your prediction. But I do know that if somebody is willing to dodge because of prestige, dodge because of hidden prestige, then they will just find another reason to dodge regardless.
I also know that while there are people that are possibly experiencing dodging because of prestige, there are also people who are NOT being dodged because of prestige. Now BECAUSE we do not have any evidence to prove or disprove anything (BHVR hasn’t published any results), it would not be right to just blankety make a decision for everybody , ie forcing everybody to hide prestige.

This is a HOT take. Lol
STBFL is the BEST on those killers. 8 stacks of STBFL + an antiloop m2 turns you into a monster in chase. M1 for when power can’t be used well, m2 to shut down loops where you can’t get the m1. Not to mention you can absolutely capitalize on STBFL because you can avoid losing stacks.

As of late man I’ve been mainly playing survivor! Probably like a 75-25 split. I can’t be fully classified as a filthy, sweaty, non-showering blight main right now!
-
I got it on game 2 luckily by sabo’ing a hook the killer downed a Steve right next to.
I just threw on saboteur and waited for it to happen naturally. Didn’t have to wait too long. Trying to force it usually just goes terrible and is supremely frustrating.
-
I think it should be an optional setting. There is nothing I can do with my p100 except show it off. Hiding prestige means it was pretty much for nothing.
The argument is that high prestige causes dodging, however that is subjective. I never get dodged, my friends never get dodged. It’s not crazy to have a p100 anymore, it’s not uncommon.
Some say “well if it’s optional then killers will just dodge hidden prestiges”. I don’t think this is true. Some? Sure. But if we’re going to start nitpicking it like that, players that dodge, will dodge for anything so it won’t matter either way.
There’s no reason to force hiding prestige on everybody when there’s a large group of people who aren’t being dodged for being p100. This is 100% one of those issues that can be solved with making it an option.
You think your prestige is getting you dodged? Hide it on your own accord. I personally should not have to because of your experience.
Edit: it also makes the lobby look better to me. I was a part of the test group, and I just did not like the way the lobby looked. It looked so… bland, I suppose is the word.

It's probably tied to MMR in some capacity tbh, killers in high MMR see P100 much more often than newbies so they're less likely to dodge I think.
Also, more and more people have high prestige so it's not as scary anymore. I used to get dodged if someone had P20+ but now there's hardly any dodging unless there's people with P80+ in the lobby.
I would have said it's not that bad but the absolute lack of dodging when prestige was hidden made it more obvious now.
That’s my guess too, is that MMR is the main variable.

Whenever I SWF - usually once a week - I do it with 3 friends who are also P100. In a normal 5-6 hours of game play we see maybe 2-3 killers dodge total. This is on par with what I see when I solo as a P100. As a killer I could care less if someone is a P100 - I neither see it as a challenge or any type of intimidation. The only time I dodge as killer is when it is either someone I know (like a friend) or when it is someone I remember being extra stupid in end game chat or have come into my stream and been an idiot. Dodging due to Prestige level is not as rampant as some people make it out to be - I think more people are just dodging the person for whatever reason...rather than the prestige level.
This is exactly my experience as well. P400 squad, hardly any dodges.

Those 2 addons are problematic, I agree. Alch ring can be countered if you know how to play around it. C33 is pretty stupid.
The issue is people who don’t know how to counter blight at a base, but give up anyway because of “addons”.
The addon changes have already been announced. Why give up instead of taking the opportunity to learn? I hardly even see blight as is, maybe 1 in 10 games.

And I have run into many Survivors who don't know how to window-vault while being chased by a Guard, or who pass up an obvious opportunity to grab the flag, or who drop a pallet at exactly the wrong time, or stay at a loop when they had a perfectly good opportunity to chain to another.
Does that mean the character I play is above criticism? That his design is flawless and above reproach? Of course not.
I am not saying blight is above criticism. I am saying accepting criticism must be done carefully.
For instance, if a player made all the mistakes you just listed and came to cry for nerfs on knight, I would not hold their criticisms valid. The answer to their issues are already there, they just either haven’t found them or are refusing to look for them and would rather cry for nerfs.
This is the point I’m trying to make. If you disagree, then we just have to agree to disagree.
