I feel you on that... I do too but it's the principle for me. Tho honestly, if I wasn't de-pipping for boring killer-bots so much I'd probably Iri 1 so much fasting and it wouldn't be much of a challenge. A few peeps here said they should remove it altogether or stop de-dipping on both sides and make it harder to pip...I'm feelin any of those over how it is now. Survivors shouldn't lose pips b/c some killers are lazy.
I definitely understand your point. It can be frustrating to depip, especially in circumstances you can’t help it. I would be completely for taking away depips.

Blight will get his nerf and I think it will be very soon and hug teching will be gutted so hope you enjoy it while it lasts
Hate to inform you that it was already said a week or two ago there are no plans to nerf blight. Only thing getting looked at is addons, and there’s no timeline on that.
Also.. I would bet hug tech is going nowhere. Sorry buddy.

My comment was in relation to you saying this “As I said. I don’t get dodged for being p100. Neither do any of my SWF mates. Not an issue for us.”
again it’s not an issue for you or your SWF great but this playerbase is way bigger than you and 3 other people. And tons of people have regardless said this is an issue that they’ve experienced for months.
My issue is not with your suggestion on how to fix it. My issue is with your implication that because you don’t experience it that’s it not a problem. Have a good one.
That is affirming WHY it should be a choice. Again, in no way was I implying it’s not an issue for other people. I first said “it should be each individual’s choice” followed by “me and my people do not experience dodging.”
In what way did I say “other people are not experiencing it”.
-
Just take the loss and move on. I’m sorry you encountered teams who can’t be kind winners. Not every team will be like this.
Continue to play who you like. Don’t focus so much on “winning”. Just go into each match deciding to have fun regardless of the outcome.

If we are talking about the meme addon, then I would be fine with it not nerfing him quite so hard but apart from that, which of Blight's addons need buffs? Half of them are problematic because they make him way too strong. The addons themselves wouldn't all be quite so overpowered, if Blight's base kit wasn't this strong. But a killer that is on the very edge of being broken can't have addons this powerful on top.
I was only joking. Lol
I know he’s got some busted addons.

Hear me out. Something not being an issue for you personally does not mean it’s not an issue game wide. Maybe it’s not all about you, especially if others have been reporting something as an issue as well.
Dude…. Almost like I said MAKE. IT. AN. OPTION.
You have an issue with it? Hide your prestige.
You don’t? Show your prestige.
In what way is suggesting this “making it all about me.”
-
SWF does not equate to a good team. Y’all need to get over that misconception. Many of your SWF’s are no better than your average solo team.
Also, swallow your pride and accept that some of those survivors that do you in, are actually all solo teams, and not a SWF.
-
You are probably one of the very few who doesn’t want stats. The majority would probably love a leaderboard / stat keeping system.

You realize that this would also:
- Remove the ability for Blight to be an anti-loop Killer.
- Add more reason for Survivors to actually drop a pallet on top of Blights.
- Incentivize Blights to think of strategies to properly get around loops.
It does not remove blight’s antiloop. Lol
And blight is not antiloop because he can break pallets.
There is already all the reason to drop a pallet. Don’t understand your point there.
Also no. Seems you have never played blight.
-
I still make iri 1 every month so I’m not trippin about it.

Agreed, they need changes. Some of his addons need buffing.

Note that it isn't primarily an issue of p100 survivors - it's an issue for everyone. It's been confirmed that once someone leaves a lobby, the system backfills it with random players in the queue.
Hiding prestige before the trial would result in better matchmaking accuracy.
As I said. I don’t get dodged for being p100. Neither do any of my SWF mates. Not an issue for us.
-
Should make it an option. I don’t have any issues with lobby dodging for being a p100. If you want to hide yours, should be your choice, not everybody else’s.

While you're not wrong, we also can't pretend like he dodged only one dev update.
At this point I'm almost certain someone high up at BHVR is held hostage by one of you filthy Blight mains. 😈
I pay a ransom to the devs every update to leave blight alone.
jkjk…
or am I… 👀
-
No. This would only incentivize pre-drop gameplay, and removes a level of skill from counterplay, like being able to time a drop against bubba to avoid the pallet break. Same concept.
-
They have not given a timeline as to blight’s addon update. It was not to be expected this update anyway.

Someone in this thread pointed out country flags and I would appreciate that too. Like these are little but fun details.
While I agree generally, i get that this could raise some problems though, especially considering real world conflicts (Israel, Palestine, Ukraine, Russia, China, Taiwan, just to name a few)
What kind of problems would this bring on?

I would love to see you play blight at the same level I do, if “everything” he does is easy. xD

I agree. I get a plethora of survivors who DC / go next on hook.

I've gone against them and it's not hard to counter. Most of them rage quit in my experience. As others said they usually down someone fast with it as it gives them recharge on the rush thing.
If you know his counters though it's ezclap 😁 Ohh boy do they get mad, when they finally nerf this I wonder how they'll react heh.
You must be in low mmr / facing baby blights if “most rage quit”. Good blights don’t rage quit.

I remember how I had this conversation with a person who got motion sick without this perk and I actually argued against it, saying that such buffs to the whole roster didn't sit well with me. But I then agreed to play an evening with the perk equipped and I basically felt no advantage. It felt "nicer" to play and sometimes gave me fun "speed vibes", because the edges of the screen were passing by faster, but I could count the occasions, where I actually saw a survivor at the edge of my vision, on one hand, maybe even half.
At the end of that evening I had to agree that Shadowborn basically offered no tangible advantage and just made playing killer feel a bit nicer and smoother to me, but if it helped the motion sick people out there to actually enjoy the game without handycapping themselves, I am now 100% behind this.
Yea that’s all it is. Playing speedy killers especially is miserable without SB.
-
It makes me end chases in 10-15 seconds or less consistently.

Something about the better fov allowing him to see better after a rush and moving his screen when hes rushing.
It will buff all killers lol. Nobody should have to use shadowborn to be comfortable playing a role or killer.
edit - and I use the term “buff” VERY lightly.

If you add all his awful collision issues to that list, on paper no one should be able to run him well! 🤣
I often wonder what survs think is going on when very good Blights pull of some amazing stuff on them. Stuff that likely took a hundred hours to master.
I’ve had some very awesome reactions to some absurdly crazy hits I’ve landed. Some salty, some very respectful. My favorite is when I land them and they stop and give me some nods of respect before continuing chase. Gets me every time. xD

If you honestly "don't think it's healthy for any game to continue to have bugs in it" then you should be asking for BHVR to be fixing ALL of Blight's collision bugs.
Asking for BHVR to fix the one collision bug that helps him, but not asking for BHVR to fix the collision bugs that hurt him, is a bad double standard.
While we're on the subject of bugs, you should want the Short forced M1 attack bug, that can steal hits from killers, to be fixed too. It's a bug that can steal hits from killers, and you said it's not healthy for games to have bugs, so obviously you'd want that bug fixed too, right?
Or his double fatigue bug. Or the shoelace bug. Or the delayed fatigue bug. I never see those get brought up.

The reason I brought up where I’m located is MUCH different from the reason you did, and you know that.
I’m not complaining about lobby dodging? I hardly get dodged lol.
-
@TheArbiter said:
Your experience has been quite different from me but that is to be expected thanks to mmr and region, I suspect the biggest tell of whether or not lobby dodging as a whole has been a huge problem will come down to what BHVR said happened during the prestige test. If they say it isn't worth disabling than clearly the minority was vocal, if they say it had a massive impact and will disable till endgame than we will know it was a huge problem.
Yea I’m very interested to see what their findings were. I hope we receive a breakdown of mmr / regional findings. I think that probably plays the biggest role.

So this small sample size of yours convinced you that lobby dodging is a rare, far flung thing..? Is this like some American form of a persuasive argument?
No, it’s a small log showing data that suggests dodging because of being p100 is not really an issue in my region and mmr. Not sure why you feel the need to bring up where I’m from?
@Venusa said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3571961#Comment_3571961
You say you don't believe people who say otherwise but why should anyone believe you? Your "experiment" doesn't nullify other people's experience as a P100 and the lobby-dodging or harassment they have to deal with.
I can just come up with something like this too:
"Guys, I see a lot of people on here claiming they never go against The Twins. I thought this was a bit over exaggerated so I kept a log of my last 10 games from yesterday. Here are my results:
Game 1 - was Twins. Game 2 - was Twins. Game 3 - was Twins. Game 4 - was Twins. Game 5 - was Twins. Game 6 - was Twins. Game 7 - was Twins. Game 8 - was Twins. Game 9 - was Twins. Game 10 - was Twins.
This is proof Twins are very popular. Now anyone who says otherwise is wrong and I don't believe them!"
I always saw you being against hiding prestige on the Forum under any discussion relating to it. Who knows you didn't just make this up or if it's a biased experiment?
I don’t care if you believe me or not. I’m telling you these are the exact reportings from my games yesterday. Whether you believe it or not, doesn’t matter to me. You’re a stranger on a DBD forum.
I think people exaggerate on here. A lot. I took the time to collect data that supports MY experience and MY belief, that being dodged for being p100 doesn’t happen much, and for my region and mmr, that is evident. Even with full SWF of p100’s, don’t see it.
If you’re experiencing something different, feel free to create a product to debate with.

@RoastedGarlic said:
how is it not hard to believe that you can get dodged for more than 10-15 minutes, when sometimes the average survivor queue time is 10-15 minutes all it takes is getting dodged once from 8-10pm est. The other night I spent almost 2 million blood points in the lobby waiting.
You’re telling me, excluding the time you WAIT to get into a lobby, you sit in the actually game lobby for 10-15 minutes getting dodged over and over?
I’m not talking about matchmaking time.
And no, I don’t believe it. Refer to my results.

@mizark3 said:
As Killer I typically take it as a challenge, but I do admit I lobby dodge when they have recent VAC bans on record, or other signs of a probability cheater.
As Survivor though, I'm a lot more picky with my soloq teammates. Nothing frustrates me more than playing with immersed gamers, to the point they never take chase, never pump gens (within 15s of being within TR), and never attempt unhooks. I'm trying to have fun playing a game, not tear my own hair out from other people's incompetence.
See and I think this is an important aspect. Some of these people think dodging is “ohhh scary, a p100, lemme go next”. Nobody cares about your p100. Everybody has high prestige characters now.
I think dodging has many more aspects to it, like the ones you just mentioned.

I got dodged 3 times in a row. So, now I'm entering the lobby as a P3 and swapping to my p100 at the last second. I have only had one Survivor and one killer ditch the game during the loading screen so far.
Yea I’m not saying it doesn’t happen. But these are my results personally, and I don’t think dodging is nearly as big an issue as people on here make it out to be.

I guess if you have a connected tile, then sure you can do that and it is the correct play. I was thinking of having no connected tile, and the blight will just hug tech like they were anyway and follow you and hit you. But I see the point, if there is a connected loop then you can attempt this.
Majority of maps will have surrounding obstacles or connected tiles that you can immediately run to. A lot of the time, the blight won’t even know that you had left and will hugtech into nothing (given the height of a tile)

@mizark3 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3570968#Comment_3570968
What I'm saying is this is like speed limits for driving. In my area, people tend to go 5 above the posted limits on normal roads, and 10-20 above the posted limits on free/highways. Just because 99.9% of people aren't getting tickets for going above the limit, doesn't mean it isn't still illegal to do so. Both are an example of the law/rule not necessarily suiting the public they are meant to serve. I believe public outcry is the only way to fix broken laws/rules, so report any and everyone for these minor infractions until either the infraction is fixed (speed limits are increased to the engineer values instead of being artificially lowered by local magistrates for revenue purposes, or bug exploits are 'greenlit' as a requirement on the company to produce a better product) or the law/rule is broadly enforced (everyone understands and works under the given rules).
Refer to my last comment… Not sure what your point is here. The devs obviously know the hug tech is there, and is used all the time. It’s kind of obvious what I’m getting at, and that your comparison doesn’t make sense.
@DrDucky said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3570267#Comment_3570267
You cant just leave the loop since he is on you in 5 seconds. I thought the main counter is to try and look at which way he is hug teching then you yourself move accordingly?
No, for longer tiles (not filler pallets), leave as soon as they start setting up for it. Try to put another tile or obstacle in between you.
