Nerf immediately. SOMEBODY has got to stop her.
-
lol @ the people saying blight needs basekit nerfs as if you’ve even faced against a basekit blight. Nobody runs basekit blight for a reason.
-
When a survivor gets vacuumed into a locker whereas they would have made the vault, I always let them hop out and continue chase. I know the frustration.

Do you think addonless Blight is good even at high MMR? I'm learning Blight using the Crow addon, but i think it will be gutted soon. Do you think is worth to learn Blight now or wait for the PTB, at least?
When I do run addonless blight at my MMR, it does become significantly harder. Is he good? Sure.. simply because of the amount of time I’ve put into his kit, I can still hang. More teams will get me down to the exit gates and get 2+ out.
Your average killer just playing blight for a couple games? No, I would say you won’t have success in high mmr running no addons.
Many tiles require atleast one speed addon to make a rush play on, when dealing with good survivors.
But yes, I would say keep at it and learn him. He is the most fun and interactive killer in the game, and is very rewarding when you start to get his power down. Use alch ring while you’re learning. Give you maximum rushes for more practice.
-
I could create some later today for you, if you don’t get any. Many of my hours were spent addonless and perkless, focused on mastering him at the base.

I actually have and he is not using Hug Techs a lot, so i guess you refere to that. The only thing we learn from that is that Techs are not needed for Blight to dominate.
No, I am referring to the hard slugging and tunneling at 5 gens ever single match, combined with full slowdown. A massive percentage of those games, survivors either DC’d or gave up at 5 gens.

You think 1000 wins in a row is ballanced? When solo streak is less then 40 and the best team in the world is at 208?
Interesting!
Have you actually seen any of the gameplay from that “streak”?
If you watch the way he plays, it’s very unimpressive. I wouldn’t even call it a “blight” streak.
-
Let’s not advocate for “nuking” addons. I understand blight has problematic addons, but no killer should have boring, useless addons.

Not that you would never to that, right?
FILTHY META BLIGHT?!?!?
How many baby Dwights have fallen to your evil schemes?
Shhhh… this thread is about SM, not me. 👀
We won’t speak on my crimes…
@GentlemanFridge said:
If everyone goes next against her, that to me says more about the survivor side than the killer, ngl.
Y’all never even gave her chance.
The universal hate against her speaks VOLUMES about that killer. Lol

Every time I get SM I feel genuinely unlucky that I accidentally ran right up to her.
But!
Then I feel super lucky, Im guessing the Entity is blessing me, so I try my unhook chances.
Sadly, I usually don't make it, and then, as luck would have it, my infant/cat/insert whatever you want climbed into the microwave again, and I have to run and save the day. I never make it back before the entity takes me.
Darn. NEXT
She’s just so stealthy… accidentally fell right into her arms… unlucky..

I - unfortunately - have to admit that this is true.. Still it doesn't mean that all of us have to hate her :)
And that’s fine! If you genuinely enjoy her, then by all means. I’m happy for you. I just don’t understand it myself, based on my experience. xD
-
@Crowman said:
It's okay for people to enjoy different killers than you.
Personally tracking survivors with the drone and finding ways to sneak up on the survivor is fun.
Besides, DBD players love to quit against the slightest hint of a difficult game.
It sure is. :) Never said it’s not.

sigh... Take a look at the forum.. Survivors hate to play against everything.. Killers hate to play against everything.. DBD players hate to play against everything.. Better to not play at all?
Ehhhhh I feel like it’s a little different with SM. I would say she’s the most universally rejected killer I’ve ever seen in DBD, and I would bet most would agree.

Ah.
Then it's because people like her and your preferences are not objective. Disliking 3-gen gameplay is fair enough, but not every specific killer has to be for you.
I have to say though, I play her and I don't see that many people DC anymore. Most people seem to have caught up to how she's not a problem anymore.
It’s not even just the 3 gen strat. He drones offer way too much for way too little. Amazing stealth, effortless injuries, forces survivors to move slowly, hinders in chase while simultaneously providing you haste.
Considering her kill rate tops any other killer by a large margin, I don’t really think your last statement is true. Atleast in these forums, where you will find your more dedicated player base, the general consensus is she’s still miserable to play against.
@Xernoton said:
I don't get the appeal either. Slog Merchant is just boring to me. You do very little for maximum results and I really can't see how you would be able to mess anything up when you play her. With other killers you need to think about what you're doing. With Slog Merchant it's always the same approach and it works because there is so little counterplay.
I get not wanting to sweat every match but when I have nothing to think about and it always plays out the same, then I lose interest in the game. This is also how I feel playing against her. It feels like nothing you do has any impact on her because in the end, you will get claw trapped and you will go down quickly. You can't outplay her and you can't really play around her. The only option left is to win before she does, which you achieve by keeping the game as short as possible. But then, why would I play the game, when my goal is to not play the game?
Perfectly said. You hit it spot on.
-
@jesterkind said:
Legit question: Are you talking about playing the killer in general, or are people still doing 3-gen stuff with her? What's the complaint here?
Playing the killer in general, in my experience, leads to everybody going next at the sight of her, or giving one chase and going next.
Generally, yes, the SM’s I get 3-gen with full slowdown, and are usually pretty toxic.
No specific complaint, I just despise the killer. She’s brainless gameplay.
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
I have normal games with her so... idk where you guys all getting these "dull merchant everyone gives up" games.
Playing her gives you a much larger pool of games to speak on. Of course your experience will differ.

Winning is fun and there are players who go into lobbies with s tier killers with the best loadouts cause they want to win, i dont really see that as a rare sight.
Is it winning when everybody immediately gives up and goes next? If you think so… then power to you I guess. Couldn’t be me.

No i'll still complain thanks. It's a ######### thing to do to wait at gates tea bagging to gloat
I’m not disagreeing with you. It’s toxic, but you literally have the power to push them out. Staying in the match is 100% on you.
-
@Komi said:
That's weird, I play Skully and don't do any of that. 😉
But no, that's the nature of players being pigeon-holed into the "meta" playstyle for her. I personally like her for adding risks to staying in the same area, but man is it a case where playing nasty works (see Pyramid Heads torment/never caging)
That’s the thing, I’m sure there are players who aren’t going to play scummy with her, but nobody waits around to find out. I think the stain she has is set too deep, she will never escape this cloud unless she gets a full (drone free) rework.
@lifestylee said:
I like playing skull merchant and im sure alot of the skull merchant players dont necessarily mind free wins.
I havent played her much but most of the time people just stay in and play and dont give up much.
If people just give up vs the new reworked skull merchant that cant hold games hostage anymore i just assume its entitlement.
What’s the fun in “free wins”? That’s like me going into a lobby full of 100 hour survivors with alch ring blight. It would be a waste of my time. I don’t blame people for going next, she’s just as terrible, reworked.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
I don't know but i am not getting single normal match against her.

Maybe they are just enjoying easy wins, who knows.
Not at all, I mean it when I say every single match. Nobody wants to play against her.

Hug tech was literally acknowledged by the developers to be a bug
it is a side effect of the way the developers programmed blight that was not intended and produces results opposite to what is expected, it is by definition a bug
That is not entirely true. A mechanic of sliding via blight’s camera angle was entirely intended.
-
Ok then don’t complain. Nobody is “forcing” you to wait 2 minutes. You literally have all the power to push them out.
-
Push them out. That’s your forfeit button.

Kindred feels like a waste of a perk, especially with the icons.

It is not. I just find it striking how a blight pfp can ignore blight's hugtech, when another user has based their name on it.
unless the dig was in "regular forum user"
Ahh ok. I don’t ignore it, but I will defend it. Lol
I consider it a part of basekit and it’s time the devs announce that. :P
But that’s all.. I don’t really know what this thread is about.

we literally have a regular forum user here called @/hugtechlover, and you don't know about blight's history with exploits/techs?
I can’t tell if this is a dig at me or not! xD
-
Same reason why every survivor in my lobbies is running adrenaline, dead hard, and windows.
There’s a meta on both sides. Don’t ignore it.

There are odd occasions where I feel like a PC mouse player can turn around obstacles a little too much for free. I've seen some absolutely gnarly max range slice n dices ending in 180 spins around terrain that felt a little BS...
However for the most part Chucky is pretty fun to face, pretty atrong, while most feeling fair. I enjoy trying (and usually failing) to loop him... I feel like throwing a pallet helps me less than just running most of the time 😁

Literally my friend experienced this, he did a full 180 around chucky and chucky turned maybe 45 degrees, swung, and got a hit
Can confirm. Very easy to hit 180 degree flicks on mouse. Not sure about controller.
-
Strong in low mmr, struggles against competent survivor.
Cooldown for power doesn’t feel great. Just a slow m1 killer outside of dash.
Overall very fun and the voice lines are phenomenal.
-
I don’t agree with nurse. 50 hours will carry you through low mmr. But good survivors will bully a 50 hour nurse. Low - mid nurses do not fair well against good survivors.

Hardly, a year ago before the changes they made, hacking was ridiculous. Whatever they changed, worked. Haven’t had a hacker since.

"cheating: act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage."
If filter makes survs easier to spot in various places like tall grass, where otherwise killer player have to develop better game understanding and become better observant AND its nothing built in the game so anyone can use, its cheating by the definition.
So to parapharse: Just because you say something is not cheating, does not make it fairplay. Lol.
And again: Use it if you must untill devs fix the game, but at least dont lie that its not cheating.
There is nothing dishonest or unfair about filters. I invested in a PC, the GPU has filter settings. You want filters? Get a pc.
-
@Archael said:
I agree that filters are cheating, exactly same as placing tape on center of monitor to have crosshair while playing with huntress. Everything that gives advantage but its not included into vanilla so everyone could have same access to it, is cheating.
I i really hate any form of defending it... I mean, if you feel game is unplayable without it - play something else. If you feel this isnt bad, then go on i guess... But at least do not lie its not cheating.
And bhvr have to do something with it. If they thiks its okay to play with various filters, they should included this into the game, especially if they wants it to be competetive.
Just because you say something is cheating, does not make it cheating. Lol

1) Use his power as chase tool first, stealth second.
2) Scamper under the pallet and immediately use slice and dice, 9/10 loops you will catch them.
3) When dashing around a loop, start the dash angled into the direction you’re going to flick.
4) Big tip is proper timing of releasing m2 for the hit.
5) I don’t know if you’re on PC, but it is possible and pretty easy to flick 180 degrees, similar to Oni.
6) Most importantly, don’t worry about winning, just focus on learning him and having fun!
Builds:
1) D3ad is currently on a winstreak using pop, pain res, friends, corrupt.
2) My favorite chill build right now is sloppy butcher, friends, brutal strength, coupe.
3) Another fun build - tinkerer, plaything, nowhere to hide, brutal. Iridescent duration. Bring Gideon.
-
claudette with darkest clothing.
Background player, bond, light footed, vigil. (If you have all these”
bring dead dawg.

I think an issue is not all players have Distortion/Calm Spirit so it makes things harder for new players who also won’t know techniques like hiding in lockers to avoid detection.
The exact same thing can be said about killers.
-
There are perks that directly counter this perk. Run one of those.
If you don’t, then move to a safe spot in preparation for the killer to come to you.

I've been using Hidey Ho primarily as a chase tool. That might help if anyone else is struggling with his adept. The stealth is utility. Definitely good to have when you want it, but you don't want your power to be on cooldown at the start of every chase.
This is what really changed chucky for me. I will only preemptively pop stealth if I KNOW I will shortly be on a survivor and within range of a slice. Other than that, I save it for antiloop or a follow up attack after an M1.
