10% of 4 players SWF is what keep the kill rate being "just right". Remove them and we may have higher kill rate, which lead to Killers nerf.
SWF destroy solo, but they dont think SWF keep Killers not getting destroyed.
I highly doubt that. SWF does not = super good team. I’ve had many solo q teams well outperform 4 man SWF’s.
-
Sounds like you were carried by gen regression perks into an MMR you cannot sustain without them.
Edit- this is probably happening to a lot of killers.
-
How does SWF destroy solo q? Lol
I do not see a correlation at all.

it doesn't happen anywhere near as much vs other killers as it does with blight and nurse.... you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.
Sure, I may have more DC’s when I play blight. But I still get a substantial amount of DC’s when playing killer in general. It’s almost indifferent.

Thanks for the input, but I can't agree. 2 attempts per match (not successful uses, just attempts), and possibly encouraging the killer to just tunnel the recently unhooked doesn't seem like a solution that works for both sides. At least my way I'm limiting it's use in match but also providing extra use of it by progressing the match. I do appreciate you weighing in though.
You underestimate what 2 uses can do.
Had a game last night where a successful DH on death hook kept me from dying, and extended the chase long enough for the final 2 gens to pop, leading me to get adrenaline, ultimately ending in a 4 man out. All that because of 1 dead hard, vs me dying with 2 gens left and my team possibly not coming back from it.
DH does not need more uses. Especially with killers confidently swinging now, it’s almost guaranteed value. It hasn’t left my loadout, and it’s still just as strong after the first chase.
-
I’m hoping when I inevitably do these tome challenges, the survivors let me just knock them out real quick and then I’ll let them farm and leave. Don’t want to play this killer any longer than needed.
-

Its so annoying, cause half the time we were already winning and then they get all salty cause they got downed. I swear like 60% of my survivor losses are from teammates killing themselves/dc'ing rather than being outskilled.
That’s even worse. When they DC in a winning game. Super scummy.

because you play blight nearly every single night ... you're a try hard blight coming up against casual solo survivors who don't put 100's of hours into the game like you and Blights skill ceiling is a joke compared to even good survivors.... You're 1 player playing against what could be 4 random people that are constantly getting cheesy camping killers, horrible team mates that make the game impossible. So as soon as they come up against a try hard blight that's took the time to get to a point of showing how broken he is (like people have done with nurse) they just can't be bothered and want to move onto the next game.
This happens with all killers bro.

You’re absolutely right. It’s not my responsibility in the slightest. Taking it into consideration is out of the kindness of my killer main heart.

I’m approaching 1800-1900 hours on Blight, so it’s gonna have to be blight. :)

Ah yes, the survivor exclusive behavior that a certain other side never exhibits. Classic.
Out of all survivor games I played last night, we had one killer dc.
When I play killer, it’s upwards of every other game somebody DC’s.

Trickster is the only killer that legitimately makes me want to punch my keyboard everytime I play against him. I have no idea why, but the spamming of the knives and his stupid laugh just infuriate me lol.
I would have to heavily agree. It’s just… something about the way the knives sound hitting me, or the constant little grunts it makes my survivor do. It gets super annoying.

@Pulsar said:
I also agree, I suppose. I don't have that much of an issue with DC'ing, but that's probably because of the Era of DBD that I joined in.
I am gonna say though. We had two people DC against a Nurse last night after she took us to Midwich and downed someone in like 20 seconds. I don't condone that, but I get why they'd want out of that.
I know for a fact one of them just shut his Xbox off and went to bed 😂
I giggle at the thought of that. 😂

Why stop at addons? His basekit along with nurse's basekit need to be nerfed. Is there an actual justifiable reason for these killers to be so strong in 2023? Dead Hard was always the main justification I saw for why these killers being OP was justified. Dead Hard is dead now. Healing is significantly nerfed as well which makes it even harder to recover against them. It's time to stop with the bandaids and bring these killers down to a reasonable A tier level. Killers that can go on 600 game win streaks should not exist.
“I don’t want any killers able to give me a good challenge. All killers should be m1 only so I can loop them indefinitely.”
Is that what you meant to say?
As for the OP, alch ring and c33 are the only problem addons. Speed and vial are fine.

Holy wall of text, Batman
- Her skill ceiling isn't low, and neither is her skill floor. Her mechanics break the game, and once you hit that skill floor you're bringing a gun to a knife fight, but saying she's low skill is just trying to crap on Nurse players because they play Nurse.
- Her power itself is the problem, so the only way to fix her would be to remove her, which unfortunately isn't going to happen. We can toss this topic on the pile of the 978,798,216 other "nerf the Nurse" and "OMFG, Nurse too OP" threads.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3404520#Comment_3404520
If you just started playing surv, that is probably why. Nurses who haven't met the skill floor range from bad to hella bad. I once faced a Nurse who barely know how to Blink and tried to play her as an M1 killer. Saddest thing I ever saw in game.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3404683#Comment_3404683
People say that, and most of the Nurse counters work...up to a point. Against Nurses who are at or nearing that skill ceiling, well, to quote OhTofu, it's a matter of picking a direction to die in, regardless of how good your or your friends are.
I’ve been playing DBD religiously since release lol. I’m not new. Nurse just isn’t crazy anymore.

Awful time as a solo player. It's worse than ever. SWF (only a few of us) is alright, we get away about 60% of the time. Solo queue, I'd say I escape about 20% of the time. Tunnelling and proxy camping is everywhere, and as a solo player, you can't really combat this effectively. Usually, the killer will focus on one survivor, while others wander around or do nothing instead of fixing generators.
People are bringing medkits, and healing through sloppy butcher which is also an extreme waste of time, especially when interrupted.
It's amusing how much of a change SWF can bring. The two other individuals I play with, we don't talk to each other over voice. We use simple text chat on group chat. Very minimal.
SWF makes alllll the difference. So much better.
-
Funny, we got one nurse last night and it was an easy 4 out.

Swfs are generally not impacted by changes very much. If you can do a solo q win streak (by win I mean at least 3 survivors getting out), then I would definitely be impressed.
I agree, but I feel this update makes SWF even stronger yet, in my own opinion from what I’ve seen so far.

I might start using Wesker more, just for the sake of variety.
Nurse and Spirit just feel awful to play, because of Nurse’s super loud repetitive chase music that causes survivors to be become instantly silent when they break lines of sight, and because of Spirit’s new 100% crystal clear directional audio. And every map update makes Huntress less fun to play, since the new maps and update keep adding more line of sight breakers, where she can’t easily just throw a hatchet over the objects.
So I can play Blight and Wesker, and too bad so sad for the rest of the roster?
100% why I play Wesker. He’s a good alternative when I want a break from blight, same as oni. Passive slowdown, good in chase, overall fun.

I agree with every word.
The saddest part is that I feel that I have to tunnel a lot more on weak killers, because there is nothing left to hold genrush.
Weak players, obviously, give up every game without even trying to play (I would like to give them a ban for a month), and good survivor players, as I feel so far, feel only better with this patch. Or at least the same as before.
CoH still broken af
My survivor games are almost the same as they were, there is more need for coordination to be healed, which is good, but I'm not one of those survivors who is afraid to run injured, so I don't suffer much from it.
But it's hard to judge yet, because every game some clown from my lobby comes into the game to give up in the first chase. BHVR needs to start punishing suicide on the hook MUCH more. Same with dc.
I can’t speak much on solo Que, but I ran some SWF and the games were free wins. Killers just couldn’t keep up with the gen pressure.

I tried some of the lower tier killers yesterday, and it was not fun trying to play them, since all the good regression perks were nerfed.
So I guess I’ll just play Blight more often this set? That’s the real solution, right? I should stop playing the lower tier characters, and just play lots of Blight? That’s what survivors want?
Pretty much. I obviously love blight so it’s no different for me. I probably won’t touch many killers save maybe oni, wesker, and spirit.
Even on blight, I had to turn up the heat a bit to keep up with some of the better teams. Gens were absolutely crazy.
-
It’s still early to have a concrete opinion but so far my thoughts are
• QOL changes to BW are fantastic.
• Gen speeds seem considerably faster. I’m able to keep up nicely on blight, but m1 killers are going to get murdered by any semi decent team.
• Healing changes seem nonexistent, I noticed nothing different.
• it’s been nice getting to openly swing in 1st chases without having to worry about DH, but I still saw a decent amount of the perk yesterday. I predict the same thing will happen from last nerf; the usage will fall for a bit but will return.
-
I’ll say, I did see an uptick on BNP’s last night. Probably every other game had one on average.

Lunatics who don’t know the definition of insanity..

My experience been the same as it always been. You play with a decent swf u probably win and anything else u likely to lose. That pretty much why i play killer 80% of the time now . still losing my solo q matches (don't feel any different) and to no suprise I'm still winning most of my killer games. Every update i like to go back in for a good 20 games to see is it playable without my team behind me.
I only play survivor if I got a SWF on. Otherwise I’m strictly on killer. I can’t do solo q. Lol

Killers have two objectives. Keep gens from turning on and murder the survivors. The devs are actively making the former harder and the latter easier. Including a new big old juicy carrot for tunneling, camping, and slugging in the form of never needing to deal with Dead Hard ever again.
Why are you surprised that more killer players are picking up what the devs are putting down?
i still see DH in majority of my games. They run the DH / BL build. Just don’t have to worry about DH the first chase, but after that it’s all the same as before.
-
DH will be back. It’s the same as is was, excluding first chase. Same thing happened last time they nerfed DH.

Lmao dude, I’ve seen somebody use that feature against nurse maybe once, on accident. It’s hardly a “buff”.
-
I’m not gonna lie, that works for me like 95% of the time.
It makes survivors pop DH alllll the time.
-
I think it’s a pretty cool idea. It doesn’t make it as strong constantly, but rewards a good blight who lands consecutive lethal rushes.
-
Lots of resilience gen rushing.

The main problem is how easy it is for a bad Blight to still win against their 'equal' MMR survivors. When bad Survivors can't practice against equal skilled oppressive Killers, and just get facerolled without effort, they aren't going to ever learn how to beat those Killers. That is what I am talking about with the disengagement. They aren't ever going to learn to get better against oppressive Killers because they never get the opportunity to.
Also the oppressive Killers lack the 'opposite side' learning that many other Killers have. When I play Plague/Huntress I learn as Survivor to circle small rocks when I just need to delay. When I play Trapper or Ghostface or Hag, I learn how powerful 1 player 'harassing' the Killer's power can be. When I play Blight, I learn 'Survivors die lul git rekt'.
I still think there is greater skill in the execution of Bubba, because early saws that hit on the last second of the third charge take a lot of practice without being oppressive. With the Bubba you learn from both sides whether to greed or drop pallets. That is tough (other than on Borgo/Garden of Pain) because you run out of pallets and/or hook states sooner than later, so it still feels like it is in the better sides' camp.
Bad blights do not win against their equals. Bad blights do not win period. It’s the same as nurse. A bad nurse / blight is the easiest killer to bully. Played against a brand new blight last night and he didn’t get a single down. They proclaimed they are never touching blight again, and this is the most common outcome with blight.
Bubba more skill expression than blight? I guess you’re entitled to your opinion..
-
@Gandor said:

Oni +41% of BASE movement speed. Or almost 21% with both addons.
Bubba 5% of movement speed.
Now compare that again to +50% ability speed. If you normalize it to Oni's speed, then I am totally OK with those (still very strong) addons
It’s 50% for ONE rush. Be specific, don’t be broad. It’s ONE rush, and at 50% if you miss your bounce, it is severely punishing and you will lose major distance if you’re in chase.
Alch ring and C33 are the only problematic addons he has.

I think Blight needs a full code rework in order to fix his collision issues (just like how Nurse needed a full code rework to fix her blinking glitches).
BHVR tried for months to fix Blight's short object collision bugs, but failed. They created a secondary collision detection mechanic to fix the short object collision bug, but this never worked correctly, and it created the M2 bug. And hug tech happened when they fixed the M2 bug. So to summarize, for years Blight had a bugged short object collision, a bugged secondary collision detection, and a bugged hug tech. There is clearly major issues with Blight's code, that aren't easily fixable.
Exactly this. This is why I believe they are probably just gonna leave blight as is. Trying to fix collision is a tricky thing.
