Yea judge me by the photo I use for my PFP. Totally great sense to use.

But you must know this is the case. There are a plethora of people who've stated why blight is OP right now, especially since the nerfs to healing. Your reply just comes off as snobbery, the same way most replies from killer mains do.
I play 50/50, and playing blight feels super easy to get a 4k (with certain add-ons), especially in comparison with some other killers.
1) Just because people say something is OP, does not make it true.
2) More us Vs them nonsense.

Well then it simply wouldn’t work for saves?

I agree in that regard. Blight is still very strong regardless of what add-ons he chooses.
C33 is still just ridiculous though an€ how it hasn’t be nerfed yet is beyond me (Apparently engravings were a bigger issue)
He is strong, especially in the hands of somebody who has put the hours in.
But I completely agree. C33 is nuts. I loveeee using it for bulldozer blight, but it a super op addon. Idk why they wanted to touch engravings. I truly cannot think of any reason that made sense. 😂

I highly doubt that. The ability to basically ignore pallets and quickly hit a survivor twice are something can somewhat do in his base kit but with C33 and Alch ring it becomes ridiculous
Not to mention C33 can even be used to track survivor due to the bloodpoints score event
You can doubt it all you want. Sava said it correct. I don’t use c33 unless I’m playing bulldozer blight. As he said, most survivors don’t know how to play against blight at all, and that is a large reason for not needing those addons. I just capitalize off survivors mistakes either way.

It's a bit outstanding how everyone is basically being deflected from the actual issue with this winstreak. I had heard most games he played he didn't even use blights super cracked add-ons. But I did hear that every single game he played he actively decided to hard tunnel the first survivor out. Yes, the fact he's playing blight plays into making tunneling easier, but all these people are so hard focused on nerfing blights add-ons that they don't see that he is literally going to continue to play the way he does and still win even if he does get his add-ons nerfed because all he does is tunnel and (camp?).
It's ridiculous how many people I see advocating for blight getting nerfed from this event when nobody is talking about how 1 particular playstyle got him this far to begin with. Stop ignoring the actual issue at hand and acknowledge that tunneling and camping are still as broken as ever and basekit borrowed time did absolutely nothing to stop that, especially against killers like blight who can just hit the survivor off hook and dash at them to hit them again. That is NOT a problem with his add-ons, that's a problem with tunneling and camping. I have zero respect for someone who takes advantage of a known, broken playstyle that is borderline impossible to beat. I'm not saying he's a bad blight, but it is entirely unnecessary to play that way. All for what? A win streak for some internet points? The fact he's at 1000 wins in a row PROVES that all these people who always talk about how "Easy" it is to beat campers and tunnelers just huff mad copium. Maybe with another killer it's easier yeah, but nerfing his add-ons won't do anything about this, so then what? Get rid of his mobility?
Agreed. If you see the first comment of the thread, that’s exactly what I brought up.

...sarcasm, right?
Ok but comp player does not = better. Because it’s relative. What exactly defines them as better? Are they better because they get kills in comp by tunneling? Or are they truly better at blight? Do they know all the ins and out, all of the game knowledge pertaining to blight? Or are they just good at playing comp style? There are more factors to it.

TBH the most impressive part of that win streak was his ability to tunnel every game from 5 gens without falter. I have tunneled twice in the last year as a blight main. Once for a really good team while I was tilted from league and once when I saw 4 med-kits with a garden offering. I guess a streamers chat is there to make up for the boredom hard tunneling every game as a good blight would create though. The only interesting part of dbd is chases. The macro can be learned easily and so can most mechanics. Chase is the hardest part of the game and tunneling half nullifies a survivors potential skill in chase.
That’s where I’m at too, I cannot fathom committing to that play style for THAT long. I would be bored out of my mind. Not to mention… if you can read chat all game during a winstreak, that says enough in itself. 😂
-
I promise you, my kill rate will be the same with or without Alch ring or c33 or vial or whatever addon you think is carrying blights lol. A good portion of my hours on blight were spent either addonless or using yellow and brown recovery.

I don't understand what you hope to support with that reply. It is absolutely incredibly difficult to win 1000 games in a row. It's why people are making a big deal that a guy did it. Video gamers love to act like nothing's impressive, nothing's a big deal. For a decade now I've heard gamers whine about how "people in diamond rank are trash" and other nonsense claims. What percentage of blight mains can win 1000 games in a row? .001%? When something incredibly rare happens that many attempt but very, very few succeed, that's called difficult. It's rare. It's unique in this situation.
"It's not difficult to win 1000 games in a row if you tunnel and use good perks" is nonsense. It's a nonsense statement. "It's not difficult to hit 100 home runs if you have a good bat".
You're just trying to crap on someone for his achievement. You don't get extra internet points for pushing others down just to try to make yourself look taller.
If you hold the streak high, that’s awesome. I do not, like many others. 250 or 500 wins without hard tunneling holds more merit in my eyes than a 1,000 winstreak hard tunneling somebody out every game.
Especially having a winstreak a bit ago using old eruption, CoB, Pain res, overcharge… c’mon dawg. I’m not buying into that. Any good killer main knows how easy games can be when you use the full meta and tunnel. It’s laughable. Now you throw in an S tier killer and as somebody said above, “it’s like bullying a box of kittens”.

That's the trick isn't it? How do you make him a little weaker on the upper-end while not affecting him on the lower-end.
I think you could adjust his addons and wait. It's entirely possible that Blight would be perfectly balanced without addons. I'd rather mess with his already too good addons than touch his basekit.
So I figure, get rid of Alc Ring, nerf C33 and don't let the speed addons stack. I think that would be a fine way to leave him for a couple months and see what happens.
I think that would be a fair 1st move. I agree on that 100%.

We certainly don't see Killers like Legion going on 1000 win streaks, do we?
So there must be something there.
I don’t think blight is the issue of the streak. I would argue it’s more tunneling, and maybe even more so matchmaking. I saw many of the games, and he would still get potatoes for survivors.
How would you balance blight for the top end without affecting the average?

Mhmmm.
Are you actually arguing that point or just pointing it out?
Both? The devs want a balance at 60% kill rate. At average mmr, performs under that. At top 5%, he performs just over that. So based on statistic, how are they outliers?

Maybe once or twice every few months when I was watching him a lot. That is a lot of fun to watch and anyone who didn't watch Lilith streams as much as I did would just look at his youtube videos or even just peep his stream to check.

KnightLight is on the world’s best DBD team and is an extremely skilled Nurse.
On stats alone, Lilith is the top blight in the world.
I’ll have to look into Knightlight. First I’ve heard of him.

Thanks for clarifying. I don't really agree with everything you have put down, but thanks for elaborating, pretty concisely, your position.
I don't have much longer of a break at work since it's crunch time but the gist of my thoughts is completely opposite to you - that you need to balance around average/low level play, with keeping in mind the high level play exists - meaning it's fine for nurse/blight/spirit to be strong but you can't go on 1k winstreaks.
I actually think a lot of your points are strictly a matchmaking and/or map issue and not even a balance issue (ie of perks and role), and that most issues would be solved by making maps smaller, and having a stricter matchmaking system. At the very least, it being an option. I think there is a sweet spot between waiting 2 hours in a queue and a match being found immediately that is completely inaccurate because you are in a backfill lobby, but we clearly aren't there, nor should I be thrown into lobbies of people who have absolutely no chance to deal with me.
Ok but the only reason the streak went that high, is because of how strong tunneling and slugging is. Is blight the root of the problem? Or hard tunneling? It would absolutely not be possible to get a streak that high without using those methods.

@Reinami said:

My opinion is quite simple.
If the devs want this to be a competitive game where esports potentially is a thing, tournaments, ranking systems that matter etc. Then obviously you need to balance around the best of the best players.
If the devs want this game to be a casual "goof around with friends a bit" party game, then you balance around average players.
The biggest problem is DBD seems like it does neither. They obviously don't balance around top level players or 1k win streaks would never be possible. And they don't balance around the "goof around with your friends" because there is so much toxic ######### that you can do in this game "AS BOTH SIDES" that make the game super unfun for other people. Additionally, often times, the most effective way to WIN the game, is to actually play in the least fun way possible. If this was a party game, they would figure out what is fun and double down on that.
I personally am biased towards the top of the top players for several reasons:
- If the game is not balanced around the capabilities of the highest level players, then the high level players will bully the low level players (even with matchmaking) and eventually the game will die off.
- If the game is unbalanced at the highest level, there is nothing to strive for, and the game will eventually die off. It may take a long time, but it will happen. Imagine if chess was balanced in way that, at the lowest levels of play, the game is balanced 50/50, but at the highest level, white wins 70% of the games. Do you think chess would be as big of a deal today still?
- The top players are able to push the game to the limits, and often times beyond. Allowing you to see what is possible, making it actually easier to make balance decisions with them in mind.
That isn't to say that you completely IGNORE the low level players. But i say, you balance FOR and AROUND the high level players, while keeping in mind low level players exist. I think this video sums it up very well IMO when talking about TF2 and the" BASE JUMPER" item:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1p42KtZOCw&t=203s
The whole video is a good watch, but the timestamped bit shows exactly what i'm talking about.
For example, in DBD:
- Look at some of the crazy, jungle gym, into crazy main building with multiple god pallets and god windows, into killer shack, into another jungle gym, loops that good survivors can use to waste several minutes of a killers time, meanwhile the rest of their team is doing all the gens. It is so bad on some maps that you literally just don't chase survivors around entire sections of a map because doing so would mean you automatically lose.
- But now look at low level players, they predrop god pallets, wasting them, then get hit through them anyway.
- What if we nerfed those god loops and crazy main buildings? Is that going to actually hurt low level players? Not really, because they aren't abusing those structures to their fullest potential anyway.
The types of changes they keep making are things that actually hurt low level players, or buff top tier survivors like the healing changes, when there are obviously plenty of things they can do to make the game more fair for all skill levels. Camping is another thing they could address. It really only works against low level and solo queue survivors because they can't communicate and deal with it. But the SWF kill squads don't really care. So why not remove camping as a strategy because you are only going to be helping low level players, and you won't really be hurting top tier killers because they aren't getting much use out of it anyway.
Actually an awesome take on that. I’d fully agree.
edit - grammar

Wouldn't the answer be nerf Blights busted addons and buff the lower tier killers?
As for regression being dead I have to disagree. Pain Res is still solid. Pop is still good despite claims to the contrary. Jolt has always been good for M1 killers. Deadlock and Corrupt help stall. Point being there are good options still there.
I would absolutely agree with that answer.
I said pain res was still decent, but ultimately subject to RNG. Pop is ok if you can catch gens at high progress. There are still good options, but they are much much weaker than old CoB, OC, pain res.
-
Blight is not OP. C33 and alch ring are OP.
-
I wonder if coupe works for a lethal rush on blight. That would be hilarious.
-
Yea let’s ignore that every single viable regression perk (pain res is still decent with some brain) was destroyed. M1 killers cannot hardly keep up with a semi decent group. Survivors were not the only nerfed party.
You wanna heal yourself all game? Bring self care + botany.

I’ve done blight streaks. It’s not difficult, especially playing like that. I didn’t say he wasn’t good, but it’s factual that the streak was heavily influenced by the play style and the old regression perks.
-
Here we go. 🤦🏻♂️
Go watch the Vods. It’s nothing but hard tunneling/slugging at 5 gens rinse and repeat. The only difficult thing about that is committing to a play style that boring for that many games.
That streak is not a representation of blight’s power, but more so how strong tunneling and slugging is at 5 gens with full slowdown.
So no, Blight should not be nerfed because of this “streak”.

" no justification " Double speed is so balanced that this streamer got 1000 wins in row with it.
But I know I can't take someone seriously that loves to exploit bugs and has it in name, surprised the mods still did not change your name.
Vial + Crow is even stronger than this. :)
MomoSeventh’s streak??😂😂 What a joke. The speed addon did not get him to 1,000. The hard tunnel and slugging at 5 gens every single game did. Not impressed.
Why would the mods change my name? The hug tech is not an exploit. Exploit and bug are two different things. And at this point, I don’t consider it either. Pretty much part of blight’s basekit now.

the man-seconds to repair 5 gens stays the same = not faster
Ok, but you can’t look at it at a grand overview. You have to break it down into the scenario that prove works well in.
For instance, there are countless times me and a buddy will spawn together and immediately hop on a gen w/ prove, and have it popped before the killer even has time to cross the map and pressure us off. God forbid you have 4 survivors spawn on a 4 side gen… it’ll be done in what, 25ish seconds with prove?
Boom, >40 seconds in the game and you’re already down a gen. Prove is also invaluable to breaking 3 gens early.
Prove allows you to hit gens at a rate that can be difficult to keep up with.

Does that not… make gens repair faster?…

Bad manners aren't bannable. The only things that can incur a ban during the game (not chat, not cheat) which can get a ban are completely refusing to progress the game or a survivor and killer working together. The main example of refusing to progress the game is body blocking a survivor into a corner and refusing to hit them and just letting the game timer run out.
I think some BHVR mods have said that refusing to pick up downed survivors (ie 4 slug bleed out), never leaving a 3 gen, or the survivors never attacking a 3 gen, are things that could be examples of refusing to progress the game, but I highly doubt anyone has ever actually been banned over that.
slugging does not count as “refusing to progress the game”, because the survivors will bleed out after 4 minutes.

“Most survivor mains complained about gen regression perks and now that they are gone all they do is gen rush. What else do we do besides tunnel?”
