If they didn’t… they probably wouldn’t still play the game.

Just keep going. They always die to altruism.

So then old OoO was fine because it actually lowered escape rates. Flashlights should never have been changed to stop clicking. Locker saves shouldn't have been removed.
I suspect the only reason you hold to that logic is because it's the only way you could possibly justify keeping Blight as he is.
You’re reaching. What does being able to click flashlights have to do with my point? It’s not a nerf / buff to beams?… No, I don’t think locker saves should have been removed.
Again… you’re reaching. I keep this logic… because it makes sense. Where have I said that blight should remain the same as is? I have said before I think alch ring and c33 are OP (for good blights). Alch ring probably let’s me 4k at a 90-95% rate.

This 65% data took before survivor nerfs. Dead Hard and CoH are no longer with us. Med-kits nerfed as well.
Before you say to me "But killer perks nerfed too", let me say this. Yes, i know. But i am really hardly seeing Blights are using anti-gen perks. They are using information - aura builds usually. So probably this anti-gen changes hardly affected Blights.
Blight and Nurse are only killers who don't need anti-gen perks on their builds. And that's already explain so much how busted they are.
And do you just saying leave Blight how as he is because people will always complain about different topics?
The data I gave was hypothetical. I don’t know what those rates would be. Nowhere did I say to leave blight alone. I said to not make changes solely based on people complaining.

@Pulsar said:

That's not what I'm saying at all.
What I thought you were arguing is that because some people will always complain, we shouldn't bother to make ANY changes to anything in the first place.
Example: DH. People will always complain about Exhaustion perks or some other perk, so there's really no point in nerfing DH.
No man. Changes should always be made, I just don’t justify changes, especially nerfs, simply because people complain about it being challenging to play against. I believe everything should be driven by standards, I.e a 60% kill rate, the standard set by BHVR, and then super in depth data collected.
Blight for example, comparing his basekit kill rate vs kill rate with alch ring and C33 equipped (if BHVR tracks data to that extent). If the kill rate is jumping to say like, 90% from 55% (made up of course), then a change should absolutely be employed. But if it’s goes from say 55% to 65%, then I’d say a change is not warranted despite a group of people complaining about it.

I don't think we can, actually.
If I'm understanding correctly, you've essentially just said that because people will always complain, we shouldn't make any changes.
Umm, yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying. You don’t make changes because of a minority group wanting a change the majority doesn’t agree with, simply because they are the loudest. Changes should be made off of standards, collected data, and what the majority is calling for.
Idk why we wouldn’t be able to “agree to disagree”… it’s quite simple as you not agreeing with what I believe, and we leave it at that. Lol

Agree to disagree.

Uh huh.
That doesn't detract from the point though? Those things are still busted on a Killed whose basekit is stronger than every other Killer bar one.
That’s besides the point. It doesn’t matter if it’s busted or not, it’s always going to be “on to the next” mentality. It could be “just strong”, but there will be cries for nerfs.

You can't seriously be defending Blights current strength?
There's no excuse for stuff like C33, Alc Ring or some other addons to exist on a Killer as strong as Blight.
Take the addons out of the equation. Take blight out of the equation. The statement is still true. You really think it would stop at alch ring and c33? Lmao

Since I already explained low MMR (predominantly new players) all I need to explain is high MMR. Since MMR will prefer more closely ranked matches (eg. 1900 2000 2100 2200 vs 1800 2200 2600 3000 each would go against the sequential preference) there is a tendency of the sweatiest to go against the sweatiest. In this case, there will be the increased incidence of BNP inflated MMR (among others) and would thus make the match overall sweatier in general. That 2200 Blight will go against the 3000 SWF, while the 1900 Clown would go against the 1800 soloq.
Also matchmaking is roughly balanced around that 60% marker, as you mentioned, and most skill-based matchmaking systems set you up for failure when on a hot streak. DBD hasn't explicitly stated it uses that type of system, but it is an industry standard in gaming. Essentially if you get too far from the expectation, it will send you to fight harder matches (higher elo/mmr opponents in relation to you). There is also what I think is a conspiracy theory, but it might be true, and that is the game will send you to unfavorable maps on hot streaks too. I think someone in a twitch stream said that a dev said it, but I can't find the original dev quote so I'm leaving this in conspiracy level 'maybe'.
Even if you take the matchmaking system on its face, there are glaring flaws with such mismatched killers. This is most evident when playing at off-hours. It will give you any match that can be found in your region, so if a 1900 v 3000 match is the only match available, it sends you in. I have an irregular schedule, so more of my matches than not are on what is normally considered 'off-hours'. Blight is free wins for days at a time with that, but I actually have to try as C/D tier killers for a 'positive K/E', making them the only ones fun for me. Now theoretically should someone be at such an extreme of MMR (from the combination of skill, tactics, and tools) like whoever got the bajillion win streak as Blight, it is evident how imbalanced the best killer(s) and best survivors are in normal matchmaking.
The foundation of my argument here is that MMR is derived from that parenthetical 3 items above: skill, tactics, and tools. A killer pick alone (such as Blight) provides so much of the heft in that MMR rating, that they are actually less skilled than their opponents, due to being carried by tools. The Blight stream streak also included tactics more heavily into the equation, as I believe the streamer abused the average psychology of players as well as intentionally tunneling off hook immediately.
TL:DR a 1900 MMR Blight and 1900 MMR Clown have their 1900 built up differently, from we'll say 500 Skill, 400 Tactics, 1000 Tools for the Blight, and 1000 Skill, 500 Tactics, 400 Tools being factored in. The effectiveness floor is the tools value in the equation essentially.
I appreciate the effort of typing that out, but there’s no concrete evidence of that.

Blight has everything for no cost.
Great mobility.
Strong chase power.
Abusing mechanics.
Best add-ons.
His power allows to break pallet even he miss to hit survivors.
His cooldown is so short.
He is 115% killer, so even baby Blights can get some kills.
This killer is insanely busted but the fact ignored by BHVR.
I’m a man of statistics and facts. And as of the last posted facts, blight is slightly under performing everywhere other than top mmr. You can call him busted all you want, but stats don’t lie. I’m not saying he needs buffs, but he is not “insanely busted”.

People love bringing up the skill ceiling, but always disregard the effectiveness floor. Even when I was learning Blight, I was easily getting 4ks (or 3k+hatch) that weren't deserved. Honestly I get frustrated playing Blight, because nearly any Survivor without a minimum of 1k hours is basically dead on arrival in the match, and the matchmaking isn't good enough to prevent newer players from going against that. Heck, bringing a Blight pick alone (regardless of add-ons) is almost like everyone bringing a BNP, then the add-ons are the equivalent of everyone bringing Meta perks designed to fight him on top of that.
The only time Blights are failing, is when the player lacks general gamesense/skill/perks, as using Blight's power strictly for mobility can still win games alone. They hear that Blight is a free-win killer, but they also don't know what the spacebar does. No one at that level of skill is winning a normal match. That's the only reason 'baby-Blights' get bullied, and it's the same issue with baby-Nurses. That doesn't negate the overwhelming power of their kits.
Gonna have to agree to disagree. If what you said was true, the kill rate on blight would be well above 60%.

A good killer is far more important than having a “good” survivor.

You're really reaching with this one. If you're a blight main, great. Enjoy it. Blight does rely on collision and no it's not as bad as you're trying to spin it. A survivor making massive distance isn't, and won't ever be, a problem for Blight.
Collision is absolutely horrible on many maps. What exactly am I reaching for?
@Shroompy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3441399#Comment_3441399
Forgiving doesnt mean bad map interactions, it means how badly hes affected by a mistake
0 Drawbacks also doesnt mean bad map interactions, (which btw, arent intended) it means having a downside for such a big upside such as Spirit or Nurse having a slower movement speed for having such a strong power
I literally gave you a drawback. Mistakes on blight are punishing. Spirit and nurse can both use their powers at every single loop / tile in the game on any map. The same cannot be said about blight.
-
@Shroompy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3441271#Comment_3441271
Doesnt matter if he has a high skill ceiling. When people talk about Nurse they dont talk about beginners or amateurs. (And dont worry, I think shes a problem as well)
The problem lies in his power being VERY versatile and forgiving and having quite literally 0 drawbacks. Thats not even taking into account add ons.
forgiving and zero draw backs? Now that is false. His power solely relies on collision. Collision in this game is not guaranteed or constant. It’s changed so many times with updates. You go for a rush and slide, leading to fatigue, and the survivor makes massive distance. Maps like red forest, GOJ, swamp, and now the autohaven maps that were murdered with garbage updates, render his power useless on a good portion of the map.
-

And its also miserable to play against on smaller maps
There needs to be SOME sort of limit. The fact that he can bounce around the map faster than any killer all while having a shorter charge time at literally 0 cost is pretty stupid
Stupid how? He has the highest skill ceiling of any killer. If you can’t use his rushes successfully, it punishes you more than it helps. Baby blights get bullied all the time.
-
Why would that matter? You learn if it’s a hit or miss in seconds…. Either they get injured / downed or they don’t.

And it feels miserably slow.
-
@Shroompy said:
Thing is I dont think he has any business having a recharge as fast as he does considering how insane his mobility and lethality is.
Long recharges are miserable on any killer. Nobody likes having to play m1 for 20+ seconds. 10-15 seconds should be the max recharge time. Part of the reason I don’t care to play spirit much.

Not a survivor out there I can’t catch. 👀

That isn't the point. If there are situations where half your team is still alive but escaping feels impossible then there should be some balance around that. The problem is that there are too many moments like this and its entirely based on the killer's power. Had this been another killer, say Trapper for example, the situation probably wouldn't have felt like this. The killer's power in this situation made doing gens impossible because of the constant back and forth to the last 3 remaining generators on the map. The killer didn't even have to be at the generator. They were able to interrupt gen progress from a long distance which in my opinion is too much in the killer's favor.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3440028#Comment_3440028
Artist should not be able to endlessly pressure gens from a distance. That particular power is too much. A few times is fine, but there should be some kind of cool down after so many uses so they have to patrol the gens like most other killers. Maybe 10 charges then it goes on a 30 second cool down.
Almost like the game is balanced around a 1v4…. A 1v2 situation is supposed to be difficult.
-
Sounds like the killer won the game fair and square.
We cannot keep requesting nerfs for every single inconveniencing thing that we find. Just take the L and go next.

Its not even the rarity of giving david outfits that bothers me tho. Its just so disappointing that you have a character you put time and effort to be the only lgbt representative of your game. Then when pride month is close by, you just decide to not give or acknowledge that character at all. Its a slap in the face. Its almost like they just used the character for points at the time then threw him away.
If thats how they gonna treat newly lgbt release characters, id rather them not release anymore because its heartbreaking when they do that and instead give cosmetics to their moneymakers survivors every update.
I mean.. from a strictly business and statistics view, why would they NOT focus on the survivors that make them most profit?

I am not good Blight. So i can't do this but i would watch it if you make video how to counter good Blight.
I can absolutely do that. I’ve got a buddy that has gotten pretty good at countering me (we 1v1 all the time). I will work with him to make a video showcasing the most common mistakes I see, and how to counter a lot of what blight does.
-
I would love to extend an invitation to you guys who think blight is “broken” to run a friendly custom match. I want to see how you try to counter a good blight, and I will be happy to give feedback and tips.
The only people that usually complain that blight is “broken” are the same people that still try to hold W in the open or camp unsafe pallets against a hug tech. I’d be happy to help with learning correct counterplay.

Because I have close to 2 thousand hours on Blight. I know the ins and outs of his power, and all of his counterplay.
There is a big difference between OP and strong. Blight as he is not OP. (Excluding alch ring)

The problem is speed add-ons removes "Leave the loop" counterplay. He just hits you before you react and leave.
It doesn’t. If you go to a tile that you know can he hug teched, and the blight you are facing has already done it before, you should be expecting it. If they bump on the opposite side of the loop, then you know it’s coming.
Leaving the loop is not the only counter. Depending on your positioning on a tile, you can swing out wide as the blight crosses the short sides of loops during a hug tech (for example the pickup truck tiles, tailgate and hood sides) when they are about to swing. They will go right past you. I have met survivors who can consistently pull this off, and it forces me to stop hug teching because it simply does not work against them.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3435558#Comment_3435558
Not true.
If you have speed add-ons hug-tech is pretty busted.
It’s really not. It’s even less busted with speed because of how long it takes to setup. It’s only busted against the typical survivors who just sit there and WAIT as the blight sets up for a hug tech. Don’t be that survivor.
-
Cannot fix the hug tech unless you fix the collision issues that hinder his performance. Messing with collision is tricky, and in the past has created more issues than solved. I don’t expect the hug tech to go anywhere.
Besides, it’s silly to think removing the hug tech is a nerf. I’ll just use bump logic and guarantee every single hit, rather than going for fun hits that are easily countered.
The hug tech is the easiest thing to counter in blight’s basekit.
-
Makes the killer predictable. You expect the vault so just hold - w.

some addons "survivor" and "killer" can make the chair burn under me, which can fly to the moon. but I'm talking specifically about the power of these killers, who since they were released, have become like legal cheats. one flies through all the textures, instantly reducing the distance and leaving no chance of at least some kind of chase, the other has not yet been corrected by sliding and dpi
A slide mechanic was added to blight on purpose.
Dpi is not even related to the game… it’s something set using mouse software…

No. That’s boring. No good nurse or blight is playing those killers to camp and tunnel.

Charms are very small and are placed in a way were they don’t really break immersion that much. There is also plenty of other charms and even skins/cosmetics that might be considered ‚un-immersive‘ by others. I don’t mean to tell you to feel different about these flags - but maybe look at it from another pov and see how this isn’t an argument against them.
as to unequal rights - DbD isn’t only played in Canada and equal rights do not start or end with just marriage. Just look at whatever is happening currently in the USA in terms of anti-LGBT laws…
What “anti LGBT” laws in the US are you referring to? Lol

Wesker - infection rate addons
Perks: third seal, undying, pentimento, plaything
An absolute diabolical build. I have not lost with it yet.

As somebody said above, I’ve seen countless times a team of high hour survivors bully the life out of a newbie killer; staying in the match well past 5 gens to continue bullying.
This goes both ways.
-
Both sides are equally as toxic. I get toxic killers when I play survivor, but..
Although in my experience playing killer, the survivors I go against ALWAYS start BM’ing from the rip. I just ignore it and play like I always do but they will BM all game, and then throw insults in post game when they lose.
-
So me as a blight main will never get to play again? Yea no.
Killer ban system will NEVER work.
