  • No lol. Trying to navigate with rushes once you get into the rooms is a nightmare. Main and outside is really it. Doorways and blight are not a match.

  • Blight w/ pain res, DMS, BBQ

    + adren vile and crow

Artist with the same perks can deny gens really well.

I’m curious if people think that maining one side will inevitably lead to biased opinions at some point.

I would say maybe some. But that would mostly apply to newer players who have stuck to one side. The bias comes from not experiencing the other side.

Most vet players have switched sides multiple times, so they know the struggles of both roles. I used to hard main survivor, then hard mained killer. Now I just play both.

  • That they primarily play that role?….

What else am I supposed to think?

  • Dude… 115 trickster would be absolutely miserable to play against. xD

If we ignore c33 and alch ring then blight is the pinnacle of this game. It's unfortunate so many players are less than even a casual level in this game.

The thing is, most blights are awful by my standard. Most being probably around 90% if I am putting it against my better estimation. But on the other hand at least 95% of survivors don't have any clue on what to do against a good blight. Some of that is from people not trying to learn and some of that is from how little survivors get to go against an actually good blight.

I get it, your teamates probably don't even know what collision is and thus they can't even do a basic pluto at most shacks, but that's really not your fault it's theirs.

The difference between something like league and dbd though is that way too many people are bad and are not trying to get better. "High mmr" isn't even good survivors for the most part, just people running the best stuff available in a swf. I can lower my mmr or raise it to the max and all I will receive is efficiency on the survivor side not a noticeable increase in chase skills, including comp players. I remember running alch ring/iri tag for the second time quite a while back, going into it expecting the easiest of games. But I went against a god tier survivor on Zarina who absolutely 1v9d the game for the survivors. Not because they had the capability to loop m1 killers which is beyond easy but because they were able to absolutely destroy me in so many ways as blight on suffo pit I wasn't even a little tilted. It's just these survivors are so few and far between this game lacks substance for me at the moment. I am simultaneously playing the most skilled killer in the game by far and giving survivors the highest possible ability to improve by playing blight with low tier add-ons.

Seriously, if I went against these god chasers and not these bots/efficient teams who lack the real skill I desire to play against I would be inclined to play this game much more. As it stands I just can't bring myself to care with the current player base.

Keep in mind I have maIned several killers before blight ranging between hag and blight which have opposite play styles. But if I play Bubba it's more on the survivors to make a mistake, more than it is for either of us to be in a skilled chase in which both of us can make a skilled play at the same time.

I'll probably pick up killer and not just survivor for a bit after the patch drops, but this is literally the only game I have ever complained about how terrible my opponents are(on boths sides).

It’s funny, my win streak was ended by a group of these survivors on suffo pit. They absolutely destroyed me in chase. Granted they had the nastiest RNG spawn of a middle I’ve ever seen; they never made mistakes that I could capitalize off. And they “caught” a blight a couple times. xD

  • Jumpscare bubba is by far the most terrifying thing in the game.

  • i’d rather see 4x clickies then 4x medkits / boxes.

Don’t need to waste a perk slot on LB. Just face a wall.

  • Plague, legion, skull merchant. Obvious reasons.

I’m really not a fan of Freddy either.

EDIT -Knight is absolutely terrible. So is artist.

  • Blight Blight Blight all around. Requires skillful play on both sides. Most killers are just a gen / ez loop fest. Blight can bring the challenge.

There's one in RPD near the main exit gate. The killer can stand there and if survivors decide to go for that last second save they can't because by the time they realize they have to go around, the teammate is dead.

This isn't that situation where there's only one entrance but the killer can bodyblock certain doors to make survivors go around and waste a lot of time. This promotes camping on RPD

Sure, but that hook has 2 other ways to get to it.

  • I can’t think of a single hook that only has one entrance to it. Where is this supposed hook at?

  • So SWF never gets matches? Absolutely not.

you're being selectively naive with their stats... if you honestly don't think that the majority of nurse and blight beginners are the only reason their win rates are brought down then you're either deluded or blinded by the hours that you've put into him.

when he has an ability to reset his charge on a hit.... that is stupid when he can COMFORTABLY 4k even good teams without any perks .... that is stupid

when you cant outplay a blight because his mobility (once learned) means he can hug tech corners and loops that is stupid

I compare him because as soon as the player has spent enough time learning his mechanics it is exactly the same as nurse, it comes down to pot luck on the killers decision of which way he will go, there's hardly any level of skill a survivor can bring to it you are going down if you don't GUESS which way he's going. Thats not a good game mechanic, that's just good for ego killers such as yourself that spend thousands of hours on the #2 killer and claim you're only winning because you're better than all the survivors and not because he's over tweaked especially in solo survivor games.

Ok buddy. There’s obviously no point in continuing this conversation with you. Have a good day. :)

so that comment there just proves that you're not bothered about actual facts and it's "i've spent thousands of hours getting sweaty with blight, so he is fine"

everyone and their dog knows that Nurse is broken ..... her mechanic cancels out anything a survivor can do as soon as the killer has put enough time in to learn her mechanics ...

but her kill ratio isn't 100% why ? because she takes time to learn. not HARD to learn all you have to do is spend time learning her and then she is broken, but the fact is that MOST nurses only play a few games and get destroyed by good survivor teams then just swap to another killer out of frustration when they can't be bothered to learn the mechanics. This keeps the figures more level because if we just took the win ratio from the top 5% of nurse killers the figures would be absolutely stupid and atleast 85% win rate.... EXACTLY the same as blight

When a Nurse killer hits the top they are literally ignoring game mechanics and there is no level of skill that a survivor can bring to escape, it is pure mind games and if the killer messes up. Blight isn't far behind this especially with his addons but you're just ignoring that because you've put thousands of hours into being sweaty with him.

“This comment proves you aren’t bothered by actual facts”……

As I talk about the actual facts from BHVR….. what?

Why do you keep bringing up nurse? We aren’t talking about nurse. Blight does not compare to nurse. Blight does not teleport through walls, pallets, windows, etc.

I’ll ask again for a 3rd time since you keep dodging the question. If you want to balance around the top of the MMR, where survivors hard dominate, what nerfs does that mean for them? Don’t talk about blight, nurse, or killers.

  • I don’t think a concede button to end a game early so you don’t have to see survivors in the exit gate is unnecessary. It is not hard to just push them out. Take the L and go next.

As for being slugged, I’m kind of impartial to it. I’m overall not a fan of giving concede / give up buttons, but being slugged for the whole timer can be annoying.

I've played comp for a year and blight is one of the few killers who has most good perks forbidden for him in tourneys. He is the only killer besides Nurse who regularly 4ks even the best teams. Yea it takes time and dedication to be that good but once you reached that level he is far from being "fine", either they nerf all of his add ons or they make his power not being available so fast after using it. For the regular pub survivors he is overtuned af and needs changes.

According to the last published stats from BHVR, that simply is not true. On the top MMR AND the average MMR.

  • @HugTheHag said:

"you don't balance a game around tournaments" the most successful games of all time have been balanced around tournaments because the top players are the ones that point out broken mechanics, things that need to be buffed etc... rather than listening to people who just assume everything is fine because they've dedicated time to it and like flexing in the majority of one sided games on the ladder vs alot of the time beginners. (you)

they chose blight because he's easier to get a 4k with than all other killers other than nurse, if you really don't understand that then you're just blinded by how much time you've spent beating on solo survivors, only having a hard time in the 1 of 10 games you come up against a SWF.

there's no such thing as a 1v1 in DBD because the entire game is MADE for killer advantage .... (your ego again)

Then I will ask again, if you want to balance around the top players, what do you think that means for survivors? Survivors dominate the top levels. So all survivors need to be nerfed? DBD is not like other games. It is a 1 of a kind. You cannot balance it the way you do other games.

There is such thing as a 1v1 lol, call it whatever you want. I’m offering you the chance to be coached / taught how to counter blight. 9/10 times a survivor complains, is simply because they lack the skill to handle the challenge. I want to see how you play against blight, and I will point out what you’re doing wrong.

Where do I have an ego? Lol

9 out of 10 would agree blight is fine ? LOL talk about deluded! where are these stats ? AGAIN there is a reason he is picked in tournament games and it's not because he's "fun" to play, if you can comfortably get a 4k against good teams without even using perks then you have something wrong with the killer.

they will never balance the game because killers won't react to the good teams because they hardly play against them so they just claim that it's survivor favoured. you keep claiming you put thousands of hours in so you deserve to win most of your games but even if i put double the time in if i get an awful team i've 100% lost against you as soon as the game starts THAT IS NOT FUN OR BALANCED. Even if its a team of 4 its a up hill battle against actual good killers and not killers that stomp ladder matches 99% of the time and then whine and complain when they get beat by the 1% that are actually really good and get lucky to escape.

theres alot you can take from tournament matches but again you seem to be just ignoring the fact that blight has the highest pick rate other than nurse. funny that isnt it ?

go look through blight forums. The large majority on here enjoys facing blight, and would agree he is fine at his basekit. Why do you keep bringing up tournaments? You don’t balance around your top players… where are you stats about pick rates? Lemme guess, some 3rd party site?

Tell you what, drop your tag, let’s 1v1 and I’ll point out exactly why you think blight is op. You just don’t know the counterplay.

  • @ElodieSimp said:

Funny thing is a lot of killers like to blow this out of proportion. Most of my killer games go fine, I might get a DC when I heatsink into a survivor right off the bat but most of the time they won't DC or give up on hook and just play normally, I do see a lot of survivors BMing other survivors so usually I'll go for the person doing it. Same with my survivor games, a killer might DC if we get 2 gens done right at the gate. It's all situational. Do I blame people? No, you do you boo-boo.

But going out of your way in the forums saying "I just want a normal game" insinuating that you never get any normal games is absurd. People will leave the game for any type of reason, even for a reason outside their control.

I am telling you, that a GOOD majority of my games, have somebody quit very early on. How is me talking about that absurd, but the actual action of them quitting isn’t?

  • @coolgue1 said:

As a new survivor is im put again high skill players playing any op killers myers, bubba nurse good nurse anyway we will legit force kill ourselfs we know we dont stand a chance in the first place if the chase ends short most new players just kill themselvs because what the point of playing if the killer is way better than the surivivor they already go faster than a survivor so at that point ot hopeless for a new player to comuinue with the match take the loss move on

The point is to get better…

Then don't play an over tuned killer that any player who dedicates the time to can easily 4k without using perks.... it's not a coincidence.... I'm guessing you used to play nurse and just thought people dc because you were too good ?

It's ironic that the people who think blight are fine are the ones that spend the time playing him ... funny that isn't it ?

Literally the only reason him and nurse don't get fixed is because the new players that play them keep the win ratio down and they're worried about SWF groups becoming too powerful (even though at top level blight still 4ks swf example tournaments)

Playing solo vs blight 99% of the time is a waste of time unless they're beginner blights, that's not good mechanics, that's just broken.

Yea, the issue is me playing the killer I enjoy. Not the survivors who throw in the towel as soon as they face a killer who isn’t just an m1 killer.

No, I never played nurse. Don’t enjoy her.

Literally 95% of the people on these forums will agree that blight is fine, outside of 2-3 addons.

Yea…. People that put the time and effort into learning his mechanics and skill are going to know that blight is fine… kinda uh… how that works. And the people who don’t think he’s fine are the people who have no clue about blight, how he works, or his counterplay. Perfect example being YOU.

    Gotta play during swf hours.

Actually, not even that. I had a 4 man bring Garden offering, and 4 BNP commodius. They dc'd one by one as I hooked them before they died.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. DCing needs to escalate to a perm ban if done too frequently. A DC ruins the game for both the killer and survs.

Idk, I’ve had SWF‘s insta give up when they see I’m a blight. They all run in and point at hooks, wanting to go next. It’s so annoying. I just want a normal game! Lol

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

It's been worse more recently, and I'm not sure why. Some days are better than others, and I've had a couple days where I just log out after two or three non-games in a row.

I'm sure it's a different excuse every time, but if I see someone giving up on hook as survivor I'll go unhook them. They might throw pallets in a tantrum, but a lot of people just stand there and wait to be rehooked for whatever reason.

A warm body is worth more to me than a broken hook, and I'll take anything I can get for what's likely a losing game at that point.

Yea, it’s strange. I haven’t been playing as much because of it. It’s almost every single game a survivor gives up really early on. I tried some survivor, same thing. Somebody insta dc’s or drops themselves on hook.

I always want someone who says something ignorant like slugging as a way to discourage it to give a logic decision chart on how they came to the conclusion that that's going to have any positive effect whatsoever. If the person gave up, they're done. Doesn't matter what state they're in in-game. They're not going to do anything but try to get out of the trial asap. If that's not a option, they'll load up their preferred streaming service and watch something enjoyable, or read through some websites. They're not there anymore to suffer, or whatever it is you think you're accomplishing.

Typically, slugging just means you're looking for them to DC right away instead of suicide out, giving you even less points.

I can keep them out of screwing over their next team for a couple more minutes. :)

I HOPE they DC. Maybe they do it a lot and get a 24 hour + ban. I’m at a point in the game where I could care less for points lol.

    Notice I said SURVIVORS'

In DBD, 4 = 1. When talking about the SURVIVORS' skill ceiling, I am talking about what they're cumulatively capable of. They share one skill ceiling.

You don't disagree with me, you misread. Unless you don't think that 4 Survivors should equal 1 Killer, in which case you would disagree. I think the devs disagree with me--at least it appears that way, with their target kill rate. They want the Killers to be slightly stronger than Survivors, so that on average there are more 4ks than 0ks.

That’s fair enough. I apologize for misreading. I would agree they should be able to, and they absolutely can. We’ve all faced / played with that team that just rock it. I’ve gotten rockstar solo q teammates and it ended up being a tremendously easy 4 man out. I’ve played against solo teams who absolutely killed it and gave me a really good game, even with blight.

Also I don't have a dog in this fight since I don't really dc and like looping blight but the logic here is exactly the parrot of darn near every killer on this board when solos complain about nerfs just because of the top players.

where has solo q received nerfs because of SWF? They have received buffs lately.

  • @KayTwoAyy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3394277#Comment_3394277

The issue with high-skill Killers in DBD is that Survivors do not have an equivalent. Every Survivor shares the same skill ceiling, and if the game is to be balanced, their ceiling should match that of the high-skill Killers.

So in theory, yes, Killers should be nerfed according to the performance of top individuals, if it becomes clear that their skill ceiling is higher than that of the Survivors'.

I strongly disagree. Their skill ceiling should be nowhere near the killers, because the killer is SUPPOSED to dominate in chase. If the survivors could match the skill ceiling of, say blight, survivors would have ZERO challenge.

  • Just accept that you may not win. You will probably come across some survivors that seem borderline impossible to catch, and gens will seem to fly way too fast.

It happens, and it’s not a big deal. Play a killer you enjoy, and play them in a fun way.

We are supposed to play games for fun and enjoyment, if you start to slip away from that, take a break and come back. :)

That's why people have 600+ win streaks on both of them. Totally fair and balanced. In a game with an MMR system no less. Pretty sure 600 win streaks are more than an issue of git gud.

Oh you wanna balance based off the top players? Don't forget what that would mean for survivors.

  • @smartemarte said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3394270#Comment_3394270

It's like playing counter strike at high level , one guy has a awm sniper and the other guy has an ak47 ... at long range 99% of the time the guy with the sniper is going to win regardless of how much extra time he has put into the game because he has the better tools for the situation IE blight charge with silly auto refresh add ons and blinking with nurse .... the ak player is fighting an up hill battle because he hasn't got the same tools. Yes there needs to be variety but you're just lucky there's not many people that can be bothered/want to waste their time mastering blight because they'd soon nerf him if the over all win ratio went up to what the players who play him alot have .... you're lucky there's lots of beginners losing with him to keep the ratio down.

mmm I don’t know that CSGO weapons is the right comparison. You have to look at the root of the game; the mechanics. A CSGO player with 1k hours is going to decimate somebody with a fraction of the hours 9/10 times. THAT IS NORMAL. That’s literally the essence of pvp games. Somebody with a thousand hours with wesker can have an extremely high kill rate, or nemesis, or huntress, or pinhead. You see the theme? In what sense should you NOT be compensated for your dedication to learning a killer to that depth?

  • @smartemarte said:

"So blight needs to be nerfed because I put 1600 hours into him to be good? GTFO.

“this killer requires me to actively think and use smart decisions to counter so I want him nerfed.”

    Get over yourself."

In another post you literally said that because you've put thousands of hours into him you don't think he needs to be changed... just because in hour head it's complete skill you've got a way above average win ratio doesn't mean that its actually true. The only reason that they don't nrf nurse and blight more is because a good portion of the players playing them are newer so end up losing and keep the overall win ratios down

So you’re saying to nerf killers based on the performance of the top individuals playing that killer? What sense does that make? Where is the logic in that? You literally just said that people lose with him all the time. The stats show. Should we nerf onryo because she has a higher kill rate than blight?

Come on dude, make it make sense. You’re heavily contradicting yourself right now.

massive difference between "smart decisions" and "oh this guy has dedicated to the point where i can't avoid his flick" your argument is basically "i've put more time into it so I should automatically win if i've put more into it" in Formula 1 who normally wins the championship ? the guy with the best car regardless of how good he is as a driver .... it's not a coincidence ??

AGAIN . there is a reason he is a go to killer against top tournament players and it's not because he's a challenge to win with ... (once you've put the time in to learn the mechanics)

if you put as much time into wesker or nemesis etc for example you'd win more games than you'd lose but you wouldn't be anywhere near the win ratio as you are with blight .... what does that say ? you can be protective over it all you want because of the amount of time you try to show of but facts are facts the killer is hard to lose with once you learn the mechanics and that is not BALANCE.

In what world am I not going to win at a much higher rate with 1600 hours in a certain character with a high skill ceiling, Vs somebody that has 20 hours? Name a game that’s doesn’t implement this.

You clearly just don’t know how to play against blight. I’ve met survivors that do, and they put up a really good chase.

exactly this, but this guy isn't getting the point... it's pretty much "i've spent thousands of hours playing Blight so regardless if his tool box is too strong I should still win most of my games"

Where have I said that? Now you’re simply putting words in my mouth. Don’t do that.

Dude people DC just because they got downed.

It's not that straight forward. People can cope with going down and being on a hook.

CSGO is the most popular PvP game rn, and it has people doing nothing for upwards of 1.5min several times over in a single game, without disconnecting.

Killers do d/c when they get gen rushed. They also d/c when you loop them for 3 gens, and they haven't even managed to take a healthstate.

But that’s why I’m referring to. I’ve had a solid increase in survivors killing themselves first hook for going down first, or too fast.

Probably because the match isn't fair. 95% of survivors are not equipped to deal with a sweaty blight. I'm assuming you also use alch ring whenever possible? An addon so ridiculous that even comp DBD bans it. It's almost impossible for a sufficiently skilled blight with a busted build to lose against randoms.

It’s not fair because people don’t want to learn to counter blight? Considering I’ve got 1,xxx alch rings; I could run one every game comfortably if I wanted to. But I don’t, I run meme builds or perkless / addonless, and they still give up nonetheless.

So you’re the type aye? Lol thanks for letting us know. I guess?… 😂

justifiably if you're abusing exploits with blight. other than that it's just survivors being survivors

No, I’m just a sweaty, good blight and survivors don’t like that. Lol

As a survivor, I haven't seen any noticeable change. If you are just talking about the first survivor down, maybe one in five games.

I’ve started slugging anybody who tries to give up early on as a way to discourage it

I doubt that will work. If you've given up on the game it's not like you're staring at the screen, you've either alt-tabbed or are doing something else. If anything you're just keeping yourself in the game longer than necessary.

It probably won’t work, but it’s what I can control. I just go chase the other survivors while they sit on the ground.

You just took the words right out of my mouth.

An interesting fact in addition: he began to tunnel hard when realized that he quite often loses his streak due to playing too "fair" with strong players. I think after nerf gen kicking perks he will struggle against good players again, even with tunneling. (I'm not talking about his skill, I'm talking about how much Blight is "unbeatable")

I agree. I did a blight win streak where I played fair. I made it to 150ish before I ran into a team that actually pushed my sh*t in.

You don't even need to be blight to make streaks with that kind of strat as long as you play correct timezone of correct regions lol

I 100% agree. That’s why I’m not impressed. Only thing hard about doing a streak like that is just committing to it.
