Idk any characters that could fit as killers or survivors so that's why i'm asking
There's plenty of horror themed animes that would fit dbd.
Tokyo ghoul would be a good one, ooh or parasyte.

Jeff. Because he likes metal and dogs. And just seems to be a nice guy

You’ve got time to spectate that but none to spare saving them, huh?
Oh I prevent these attempts as often as I can when I'm playing surv. But sometimes you're on the other side of the map or in chase. And I play killer a lot too, like I actively haul ass away from hook unless I know someone is nearby.
-
I hope so
Self unhooking is a pretty pointless mechanic. It's mostly used just to soft DC and circumvent the DC penalty.
So many times i see a surv try to self unhook 3 times then miss 2 skill checks and unalive themselves on their first hook, even when they are first caught.
Self unhook perks and offerings are universally bad except for deliverance.

I have no idea why pallets aren't treated like temporary windows. Probably due to bad coding.
But you can't medium vault a pallet, so it's always going to feel worse than a window because it'd be unbalanced otherwise. Especially post vault-change.
If you're saying it feels worse despite this, I'd wager something probably broke with vaults as a whole since it's a linked issue.
Yeah, like pallet vaults always felt quite fast and were always a consistent speed but they feel actively slower now.

Every match there are 4 survivors using WoO. If you check nightlight, you will see that the using rate of this perk is MORE than an exhaust perk!
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/XCTHZPLTE37T/image.png
You take away their looping crutch perk and watch how they all crumble down.
Sure, nerf every surv who doesn't know the maps inside out. I'm sure that will help the disparity between low mmr being a kill fest and high mmr being a surv fest.
Full disclosure I am average to bad at chase, and I use windows in practically every build I run. It allows me to run a decent chase occasionally, but more often than not I still get downed pretty rapidly. If windows got removed or nuked from orbit "like most of bhvrs balancing nerfs end up doing" then I'd probably stop playing survivor and I'd definitely never touch solo q surv again.
It is a crutch perk for sure, but in my higher mmr killer games I actually see it very rarely. It helps a weak chase runner become average. And provides very little advantage for an experienced survivor beyond knowing which pallets are gone. Plus it has counters, plenty of them in fact, there are so many perks and addons that cause blindness.
Remember you need 4 times as many surv players as killer players. And this one is a bread and butter perk for survivors, not an OP I win button like everybody claimed DH was. Nerf it too hard and killrates will rocket way too high.
Like maybe decrease the range a little bit, perhaps 25-28 metres max. But much more than that and the perk becomes effectively useless.
-
No need to remove a killer if they arent used much. Like unless there is a copyright issue there is no legitimate reason to take a killer out of the game. Just wait for the rework.
-
They all kill survivors?
-
It's why we should have a separate casual and competitive playlist.
-
Just play however you do well. If you want to be nice, let the last 1 or 2 survs go perhaps. If you play nice early survivors will just take advantage.
Like played yesterday and downed someone on their way out of basement after being unhooked, they were first hook, i downed them, looked at basement, shooky head and left them so they didn't feel too tunneled. They sweated the rest of the game and they got 4 out with only 3 hooks. A good adrenaline play stopped me from forcing a face camp stand off to get more hooks at the end.
Wait until you have control of the game by any means necessary, then you can play nice. Plus trapper is pretty weak so yh, he needs tontunnel a bit if the survs are decent at counterplaying bear traps.
-
Feel like this should be on the lore subforum?
But yh definitely clown, doctor, skull merchant, knight, trickster and knight.
Feel like clown is top of the list with skully and trickster close behind. the others have a compulsion or value of sorts. Even knight is very "survival of the fittest" and kills for a reason or purpose rather than just for pleasure
Even trickster and skully have kind of insecurity complexes they are trying to assuage by killing. Clown on the other hand, he's just the most hedonistic killer who takes the most pleasure in the kill and influcting torture. He kills simply for the joy of killing, even trickster uses it more for art and music, and skully is more about the hunt than the actual kill.

Thank you!
Edit: I see MFT is not on the list. Is that because its pick rate isn't as high or was it excluded because it's still relatively new?
It's a good perk but I think the usage isn't that high. Requires a good player to make true use of it and it does lock you out of using an exhaustion perk. Perhaps it's contributed to the dip in lithe and sprint burst?
-
Kill and eat people, acid for blood. A weird little tongue thing with a mouth on it they use to kill people. They've got all sorts of potential for gribbly ways to kill survivors lol

One thing this may mean is that the Nicolas Cage that was taken lives in the same world where The Dredge, The Blight and The Doctor all came from, so this particular world seems to be of stronger significance towards the plot.
It's possible they could be other worlds where the Stampers perhaps are a chosen bloodline throughout the multiverse - maybe even Entity-created and planted as agents on many worlds to help open the gateways up for it to seep through. However, from a narrative perspective the DBD story would probably benefit from keeping these particular significant events to this one version of Earth.
Yh if these stampers were for arguments sake from different universes it would be interesting to see how/why the characters name stamper are linked across different versions of earth
-
Feel like it'll be a pig like power of facehuggers that attach to survivors. Maybe they could do some interesting anti loop, like if you pallet stun an alien you get doused in acidic blood for a hindered status effect or something?

So, I won against a twitch streamer today (as killer). Went into their chat, they asked my why I tunneled, I said "if I see a potential kill or a potential hook, I'm gonna go for the kill". They responded "you must not play this game very often"
I really can't think of a reason why I wouldn't go for the kill here if anyone has advice it would be appreciated
Lol tunneling works. People just get salty about it which I do understand, particularly streamers, makes for good content which gets them engagement.
Had a streamer cussing me out on stream for tunneling a yui, after they uhooked her in my terror radius and then yui proceeded to crouch in a very sparse bush right next to hook 🤣
I have mixed feelings about tunneling. It's very effective if you can kill a surv before they've finished 2-3 gens, it can blow up in your face though if you try to tunnel a good chase runner.
On the survivor side it is mad frustrating when you get hard tunneled, particularly early game because you don't get chance to do anything. I hate it as survivor because I'm not great at chase.
Personally when I play killer I tend to gear my approach towards how the survivors are doing. If I'm clearly winning I dial back a notch and play around a bit more, everyone gets more bp. If survs are gen rushing and i struggle to catch one or two of them I will defo tunnel them out.
No one is saying you should lose, but tunneling out early is kinda harsh and a bit of a lazy tactic, tunneling is boring and kind of too easy. I will often deliberately chase an unhooker or initiate a new chase with someone who has no hook states rather than one who is injured and freshly unhooked. Hell sometimes I'll down someone with 2 hook states and just leave em slugged, not to be toxic and camp but to give them a bit more game time and it forces someone to heal them, bit more pressure.

Haunted Grounds doesn't apply cursed, only Exposed
Oh right, I'm not too familiar with sould guard. Thought OP was talking about perks with buffs while hexes were up in general.
-
I'm pretty ambivalent about it. Killers never expect it anymore because it doesn't see so much use. I actually hit it way more often now when i run it as surv.
And consequently I swing into it more as killer. Used to love dh as killer because I was good at baiting it out, but now I never expect it either 🤣
-
If perks like that became meta then you could kiss goodbye to haunted ground.
But I do like the idea of this when I'm running hex TOTH to bp farm lol.
-
Depends how much you vary your mind gaming. It's very easy to fall into a pattern and a good surv will work it out quite quickly. I'll sometimes notice myself doing this, then deliberately switch it up. Like I'll respect the F out of pallets, 2/3 times with the same surv then later I'll make a hail mary lunge when they're on a pallet and get a cheeky down because they don't expect me to just commit.
-
Funny to see a thread like this AFTER DH got nerfed into the ground lol. Tbh most endurance perks are super niche now and survs deserve that bonus is they manage it.
And removing endurance after being unhooked? Sounds like someone face camps a lot.
-
It's all in where you put the biodpods. I find that if you use them to moniter gens survs will emp them regularly.
What I've started doing is sticking mine up high to moniter open/high traffic areas and escape routes. Those ones get noticed and EMPd less. Like, chase a survivor off a gen and mark them as they run. They self emp and you can just switch ahead and remark then. Then keep teleporting and overclocking.
Singularity is very tough to get right but when you do? He scary and a lot of fun to play.

According to who?
Anyone who's played a solo q match against her. Srsly even my SWF games are struggling against her. You have to balance tapes extremely carefully, and if you don't do that? Insta mori'd at 3 gens.
Her power is easy to abuse atm. God tier swfs are having an easy time because they can loop her for days. But very few players are that good at chase. She is rofl stomping solo q games consistently.

It’s really hard to prove that someone intentional sandbags and sometimes that they’re working with the killer, though. A teammate could fail skill checks on a gen but how do you know they’re sandbagging vs distracted? You don’t. The devs don’t really punish sandbagging unless it’s extremely obvious—and even then, it’s super rare to see accountability. I understand why, though. A lot of players suck at the game. They might unintentionally sabotage and to punish them for that would really drive them away from the game. Making the game too oppressive for average/casual players would kill it, a la the dev’s other game, Death Garden.
I'm thinking more of afk ing, either way there's no excuse for players to be quitting out of games 30 seconds in. Sandbagging is in all honesty pretty rare and I doubt you'd see that many players doing it if devs removed the ability to kill oneself on hook.

It doesnt matter. It simply is not competitive. The devs even change the name “Ranks” to “Grades” (in patch 5.2) to precisely avoid the sort of confusion u are in rn.
btw OW is a hero shooter, and DBD is an assym. They hardly can be compared.
Semantics. Point is ppl shouldn't be ragequitting like toddlers having a tantrumn. Messes up the game experience for everyone else killer and survivor.
That's why we have DC penalties, and why we ahould have some way to prevent/punish ppl who work around it by deliberately dying on hook. Games are supposed to be played not given up at the first slight inconvenience.

Wrong. Pip means nothing and has meant nothing for a while now (since patch 5.2). Ur rank only reflects how much BP you’ll get on the 13th every month. So ur wrong
It's something ppl want to earn. And tbh the BP is a more tangible reward than most ranked modes. Players grind out pips in dbd like ranks in overwatch or whatever gamr.

Reported for what? Lmao not wanting to play? Don’t u think ir a lil entitled rn? Its just a game yet u want to FORCE people to play it for the full extent, like?? Get a grip bro.
Also dcs are in an all time high just fyi.
You have played dbd right? Every match is ranked and if you do badly you'll lose pips. Personally idgaf about rank anymore but a lot of players do.
Someone who ragequits early, totally throws the game, and survivors will 95% of the time lose. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a player to at least play the game they loaded into. If they didn't want to play, they shouldn't have loaded up in the first place. It's why DC band are a thing in the first place. In a 4 v 1 a single surv makes a hug difference. If they want to ruin other players experiences then perhaps they should play killer instead.

I've been thinking about it and I'm kind of torn now. Hook suicides do no one any favors. But if they are removed, can you imagine how people would play? They would straight up sandbag, go AFK, lead the killer to teammates, etc.
At the end of the day, the killer had to down them, carry them to a hook and hook them. Survivors may have gotten half a gen done by that time. At least it's something.
Sandbagging, AFKing and working with killer would simply lead to them being banned, so no loss there

I think on this forum people forget a great deal of players don’t have the knowledge many here do. I’ve often be with players that try to kobe, and while I don’t know for certain I get the impression they are actually trying to 4% and it’s not them just giving up.
People will do it once. And learn pretty quickly that it's a dumb idea. Even the loading screen tips tell you it's a last resort
-
Perhaps not bannable. I do agree with OP on the whole. But it's impossible to tell apart hook suicides with genuine attempts to either kobe when you won't get unhooked or dies to let last surv get hatch.
Remove the progress loss for kobe attempts and decrease the base self unhook chance to like 0.5%. It does 2 things, it prevents the soft DCing which let's be honest make up like 90% of hook suicides, and makes self unhook build a viable build to run instead of a 10 IQ stupid suicide gamble. And perhaps allow hook suicides if there is only 1 other survivor left so ppl aren't forced to hide longer to get hatch.
It's such a win win. Plus it makes facecamping less effective which would make life a bit better for survs in solo q.
-
Maybe the stars will align and we'll get stranger things back. Imagine it, a new chapter with vecna, eddie, hopper and or joyce. With demo, Steve's and Nancy's glorious return as a bonus. Hawkin's lab plus the trailer park or maybe vecna's nighmare realm 🤤 i can already feel my bank account sighing.
If we get fnaf I'm legit going to ######### uninstall the game tho

You can get injured for free by interacting with the killer lmao. Run an actual perk that benefits the team in some compacity instead of sacrificing a health state to run 3% faster from gen to gen. Resilience saves like 7 seconds on a gen, which isn't worth being permanently unable to go for risky saves and becoming much easier to down. Deja Vu is only like 2 seconds less yet has much better value, especially for solo queue.
Sure, and you'll probably end up giving the killer a hook state too. Plus if you're running solo q you could well end up wasting teammates time because they may try to heal you and can take a while to figure out that you want to be injured.
Besides I'm not saying the perk is good lol just not useless.

Someone told me No Mither doesn’t stack with Iron Will…
Looking at the perks, that's probably true not that I've tested it.
All the more space for another handy injured perk like this is not happening
-
Idk if the realms would even exist if the Entity died/was destroyed. The realms are all created by the Entity's will and without that to hold it together my best guess is that the realms would fall apart and dissolve into the void, destroying anyone left inside who couldn't escape. I.e. every survivor who couldn't manipulate auric cells to escape, and pretty much all of the killers except pinhead, freddy and maybe demo if it could travel to the upside down. Perhaps vittorio might be able to escape since canonically he can travel around realms if he learned how to leave the Entity's realm.
-
Probably because it's impossible to nerf it without making it a totally dead perk. Like what can you do with a 3% speed boost to make it balanced? And as with most things in this game. The reason 90% of players don't think it is broken is because 90% of players aren't good enough to utilise it that well.
Killer mains always seem to have one perk they constantly complain about, previously it was dead hard, now it's MFT. Firstly you literally have counterplay to it, a lot of killer arguments here are simply "I don't want to run exhaustion perks" like ok, you have multiple perks that help counter mft but you simply don't want to use them? Seems like self sabotage but ok. Another thing is that mft basically locks a surv out of using any other exhaustion perk. Plus a lot of killers have hard counters in their basekit or addons. MFT aint gonna help you if you step in a bear trap or get nailed with an exhasution hatchet.
Now this is not a survivor main perspective, I play both roles roughly equally, I've tried using mft and it's helped a bit but personally I still prefer lithe. And as killer I don't generally have much trouble with MFT, in fact I think with demo it's been helping me as more mft players are using the speed to commit to doorways and vaults and I'm landing more shreds as a result. Been using fear monger a bit more too. And mft is really not making my killer games much harder at all.
-
When playing with a decent swf it's possible to counterplay. But she is rofl stomping solo q teams atm and it's highly unpleasant to play against, doubly so because none of my old swf mates play the game much anymore. I'm also seeing her pretty constantly atm which is getting frustrating. I'm honestly getting to the point where I want to just unalive myself on hook the second I see a tv in a solo game because I know it's an instant loss.
I haven't had a single solo q game where we've actually finished gens against her. And if there is one thing this game didn't need it's another killer who auto wins solo q games.
Ty to OP tho I didn't realise locker hopping when you are carrying a tape prevents condemned, that helps, maybe it'll give me chance to escape through the odd hatch instead of getting morid.

The most trash weakest killer you guys EVER released. I absolutely HATE playing as him. I feel like I have ZERO control. The power does nothing. Takes too long to setup. Is so easily turned off by the survivors. It takes WAY TOO LONG to even be able to tag them THEN to teleport. There shouldn't even BE a heads up that he is looking through the camera if disabling them is going to be that trivial.
Worse I am doing the god awful challenge Overclock activate and I can't even get ONE hit let alone 4. How is this a challenge when the survivors can void it AT WILL? I've literally teleported to a survivor and had them run in a straight line and Overclock runs out juuusssttt prior to me landing the hit. I even wiffew a few times because the time is so close.
It just amazes me how this killers power is to basically get a weak out of range teleport that would be considered bad if you were playing Nurse. All the while the survivors can prevent you from using this SO EASILY.
He can be good, just depends how you play him. Out of interest how do you use the bio pods in a game? like do you use them as anti loop? To guard gens? What issues do you have with him? Chases taking too long? Losing gens too fast? Can maybe offer some tips. Because if his bio pods arent used right he can be ridiculously hard play.
He is lethal in a chase with a surv who is slipstreamed because he can constantly teleport to them and eat pallets super quick while still nailing hits.

How does one properly use No Mither? Please, educate us.
It actually has been made slightly less bad with the addition of made for this.
Not saying it's a good perk by any means but it can be useful in a stealth genrush build, I muck around with it occasionally.
No mither, mft, iron will and that perk that increases repair speed while injure ( i forget the name) sace you time vecause you won't be wasting time getting healed
Having mft up all the time is kinda handy if you know how to run chase well and you can use the endurance of healing another surv to actually take protection hits. High risk high reward. I've actually pulled off the mft endurance protection hit once or twice with it and it always surprises the hell out of killers 🤣
Like i said it's by no means a good build but it can work and it's kind of fun, change of pace from the usual gameplay style.

Once again, this is at mid-high mmr so you don't get baby killers up there. Of course I could dump my MMR to do this even solo but I'd rather not.
Even in higher mmr there must be the odd killer that your team just does well enough against to pull this off
-
I just cane up against a surv comboing plot twist with no mither. 🤣 mechanically it was pretty bad, I downed them easily and never lost track of them.
But i have a soft spot for anybody using no mither so I let them go, so i guess it kinda worked? 🤷♂️ but if I'd wanted them dead they were double hooked and ripe for mori at 4 gens 🤣
-
I don't have it yet, but if you swf with some understanding friends you could probably manage it. find a weak/baby killer. Finish 4 gens making sure to get 2 gens 99d far away from each other. Run adrenaline, sole survivor, low profile and spine chill. Get your mates to throw themselves at killer and be ready on the 99d gen. The perk combo should guarentee you get gate open quick enough to escape
-
Well i have a better idea of how to counterplay her now, but i doubt it'll do me much good while I'm in solo q for a while until everyone figures out they need to grab a tape straight away.
Still seems like a really bad change imo. She's essentially the new tombstone meyers. I.e. able to use an insta mori mechanic quickly regardless of hook states. Which I'm really not a fan of. I mean getting moris off of devour hope is fine because it takes a while to set up and you have to really work for it and hope survs don't find the hex.
But meyers and sada can mori players insanely quickly. I get this game won't be totally balanced but games where you get killed so quick you get less than 5k bp should not happen, at least not regularly.
Even meyers isn't that insane because he needs an iri addon to do this. Having it as a killer's basekit though? That's wildly insane and bad for the game. And yet another nail in the coffin for solo q players.

i think this will turn out to be like pinhead, at first no one knows how to properly do the box, so he’s super oppressive, then overtime more people learn to doge the 3 chains and get far from the killer, but if only 2 out of 4 people know how to do this it still leaves a strong chance the box won’t get done, now though almost everyone knows how to do the box making it much more bare able in solo que, with some minor changes to TV cooldowns to make tapes easier to grab and some time to let people figure out that holding tapes and depositing them when you get to 2-3 stacks she’ll drop down to a much more bareable and average state
Problem is pinhead only requires one person to do the box. And chain hunt isn't an instakill mechanic. As it stands you have to avoid doing gens and lose time to muck about with tapes and if you don't you get insta killed.
You need all 4 players to juggle their own tapes, whilst trying to get gens done and not getting caught with a tape because if they do, then oh look they get mori'd even faster.
And onryo players know exactly how to abuse the mechanics. They just spam projection as much as possible to gen condemned. A couple of regression/slowdown perks and there is no chance gens with get finished before they can mori ppl. Hit and run with sloppy butcher, slug with knockout. The second game the onryo literally didn't hook a single person until we were all on the floor.
-
Ok 4 games out of 7 against onryo. All 4ks. Think it's time to stop for the night.
-
I'm not quite sure why they felt the need to bump this dead thread lol
