  • She feels horrible to play, didn’t check much during the ptb since I had other things going on but I can say with certainty she is much worse to play now

old Sadako (the first one) had the problem of too long tv cooldowns, condemed not building fast enough, and the counterplay being far too easy

Super Sadako had the problem of the fact that she dis encouraged chasing with destroying tape on hit and map wide

Current Sadako now feels exactly like the first Sadako only with semi better tv cooldowns and tapes being EVEN SAFER then both iterations

My solution would be firstly undoing the post PTB changes then additionally bringging back the stack + passive condemed that holding a tape gave, as tapes are now the safest they have ever been as they essentially do what they did with super Sadako with none of the downsides, since turning a tv off protects you from condemed but now the only way to give them condemed is if they run by another tv while holding the tape

Honestly no, I didn't realize that lol. Do you still get auras from inactive TVs when you're close? I don't think I remember seeing them but I could be misremembering.

Yea you can see Aruas as well, the only problem I have with inactive TVs is that you can just permanently keep 4 of them shut off and make it hard to actually grab a tape, but if you get one it shouldn’t be difficult to put it away as long as you don’t make it obvious to where your taking it, don’t take it to the closest one, take it to the second closest

I haven’t had enough games with her to agree she’s super oppressive but the 1 I played as her and 3 against her have all gone in Sadako’s favor. The tricky part about cleansing with a tape is finding an active TV to put it in before she hits you.

The best counter I can think of would be for all players in a match to focus on moving tapes around whenever she’s not right there on you and do gens as a secondary objective. Shut down as many TVs as possible and keep your stacks as low as possible so you can take a hit while holding a tape without becoming fully condemned. The trouble there is getting everyone on the same page - most matches are solo q and I can only t bag out directions in Morse code so quickly.

Been seeing this a lot, you know you can put it in any tv right? You can only GRAB a tape from an active one but you can put it in any tv on or off

  • i think this will turn out to be like pinhead, at first no one knows how to properly do the box, so he’s super oppressive, then overtime more people learn to doge the 3 chains and get far from the killer, but if only 2 out of 4 people know how to do this it still leaves a strong chance the box won’t get done, now though almost everyone knows how to do the box making it much more bare able in solo que, with some minor changes to TV cooldowns to make tapes easier to grab and some time to let people figure out that holding tapes and depositing them when you get to 2-3 stacks she’ll drop down to a much more bareable and average state

We are about to experience a freddy rework 2.0 were everyone swears the killer is op, it gets nerfed and then people realize that they were just kinda bad at the game, like people unnironically tought freddy was on par with nurse at some point lmao.

Don’t forget what they did to wraith as well, I fear we’re about to see it happen again with Sadako,

I don't know, I think these changes might bear out pretty well.

Think about it, survivors now cannot just hold tapes to be completely safe from Condemned. If Sadako finds them, not only is the Condemned gain from a hit larger, but the tape is also destroyed, so they can't go remove the Condemned in that chase, they have to be 100% safe from Sadako before they can even start the process again.

I don't think Sadako's gonna be perfect after these changes, but there's some big stuff in this dev update. Destroying the tape on hit and being able to teleport more are pretty big buffs. It's definitely worth testing it out on live and seeing where it goes from there.

The biggest issue I have is how easy it is to remove tapes and in turn condemed, this did nothing to address the fact that survivors only have to walk 3 feet to remove half their condemed and made it more difficult to spread more condemed to other survivors because once survivors figure out that placing a tape is a simple as logging in to the game they’ll understand that there is no risk to picking one up
