Translation I play to have fun

So you're playing survivor but you're not helping do the objective in order to survive and you want your team mates to go down instead of doing the objective they're supposed to do.
Is that what you're telling me?
100% yes I am sa ing them when they get picked up by the killer

Man, you really need to take a break from DBD and get a clear head. You’re getting way to angry over a video game.
Have a nice day!
lol I don’t even play to escape I love getting saves and memes so I doubt I need a break I don’t even do gens. I was just stating it’s crazy people kill survivors based on them wearing the same outfit pretty cringe and those people probably need a break. Since you are defending their position I would assume that equates to you taking this game way to seriously.

First off, the devs cant realistically emulate the advantage of consistent zeammates. You cant make your randoms care about you. The devs could tweak some challenges to not make them gamethrowing tho.
What I often see is the sentiment to give survivors the results of comms usage wirhout giving survivors comms.
The lazy and probably most welcomed way to do that would be slapping on lot's of free aura reading on survivors (or a mapscreen, minimap or radar): permanently knowing survivor positions, the position of interactable objects seen once by any survivor, the killer as long he's visible to others.
I say lazy because it's free and supporters skip the input needed to get the results when doing it with comms. Theres no need to gather and relay info when its just spoonfed to you instantly.
The most reasonable suggestion imo would be a chat wheel without ping. This adds only a weaker version of messages survivors convey with comms. So swf doesnt benefit as much as solo.
Adding a location ping tool (like highlighting the killer when you target him with it) may be helpful but a really huge bzff to both solo AND swf.
Super true I literally don't play to escape so my other 3 teammates are doomed I don't touch gens and only want to have fun getting saves and memes on the killer. So 100% your survivor teammates are not your teammates this is a 1v1v1v1v1.

Tbh if they are getting tunneled because they are wearing the same thing that is their own damn fault
Damn so now killers get to determine to tunnel based off the items we pay MONEY for that's CRAZY. Means that DBD is the first pay to lose game.

People say OTR alone is not enough. The plan I proposed would allow him to withstand one more rescue, and if the first rescue goes well, he would be able to return to work fully recovered. Please look carefully. The first survivor will go down in one hit, so the killer will want to target that.
However, if you keep this specification, no one will come to your rescue for fear of being defeated in one hit. Therefore, while someone is hooked, survivors will take a deep wound if receive a hit.
If this system is adopted, tunneled survivors will survive several extra hits, increasing their chances of survival. The Killer wastes a lot of time doing this, so it's easier to target and knock down Survivors who aren't already hanging, increasing overall control. In the first place, the purpose of building a tunnel is to permanently reduce power generation efficiency, and if it is possible to suppress power even temporarily, that is the choice.
I wasn't talking about otr I was talking about pain res and grim embrace. otr doesn't do anything I just tunnel the survivor after I hit them off hook. That literally wont do anything it will just incentivize the killer to tunnel more then get the other people out in one hit. You have a better chance of punishing the killers points for tunneling and keeping them in the low mmr they belong in and make them lose blood points. Most killers tunnel to play dirty and make people miserable not because they need it to win. Any capable killer can win with no bloodlust and no tunneling camping. Or figure out a way that if a killer tunnels it progresses gens to a point where the killer will not want to tunnel.
-
@xltechno said:
If tunneling should still be stopped, a system must be established that balances the merits of the killer distributing the survivors evenly and the demerits of tunneling.
Would you all here agree if I were to convert a Survivor's Hook State +1 directly into the number of hits they can withstand from a Killer?
At first, all survivors will fall with 1 hit, but when they are rescued from the hook, they will instantly recover 2 and fall with 2 hits. A Survivor whose hooked state has progressed to 2 will be rescued, healed to 1 hit, and will not fall until he receives 3 hits in total. Attacks from chainsaw and the like will hit him as 2 hit damages.
If things go well during the first rescue, the survivor will be able to escape fully recovered, and during the second escape, the survivor will be able to withstand at least one attack with only minor injuries. This makes it worth bringing OTR, and the killer will actively try to find survivors who will die in one hit to have a deterrent effect.
They've already tried this with perks but killers just tunnel one person out then use the rest of the perk against a 3v1 especially at 5 gens is almost a guarantee win unless you are a baby killer. One of the biggest problems is killers tunnel to get to high mmr then complain about everything survivors do because they aren't supposed to be in that mmr to begin with because BHVR holds the killers hand.

Team Based Ratings
With escapes being the win condition for Survivors, dying heroically to save your team can feel a little anti-climactic. We’re introducing Team Based Ratings to remedy this. Your rating will adjust based on not only your own performance, but the team’s performance as well. Sacrificing yourself to save the team won’t be nearly as punishing.
You still lose more then you gain.

so if a survivor who is in chase pretends they are not in chase they get to make the killer lose bloodlust for free, sounds like a gap in design that should be fixed
I mean to be fair bloodlust is a hand holding mechanic for killers who are new to the game and have low skill. Also the trade off is the survivor is walking which if the killer is good then he can mind game and catch them easily.

no. It's an advantage for survivors if they don't slack off, but this means that few people understand that. If the survivor is just immature, I'll point that out, but I won't blame them. Because it's your next opportunity to grow. That is included the team theme.
So explain if it is a team game how if I die on hook and 3 people get out my mmr goes down. Also just because people don't play the way you want to does not make them immature. They could say the same about you and say you need to learn to have fun and stop being so uptight.
-
@xltechno said:

Repeat. Yes, sometimes with selfish survivors. Sometimes that's not the case, and I just understand that to be the case. If the matches are consistently bad, it's obvious that the survivors are either immature or only interested in their own survival and don't understand that they are putting themselves in more danger.
I believe in the theory that human nature is evil, but I believe in my fellow survivors. This is because the gameplay can only be achieved on that basis.
So you acknowledge this is not a team game good.

If the survivors actually understand each other's roles and killer is chasing them, I will complete the generator without wasting a second and will not hesitate to hook trade to rescue them.
If I am being chased, the other survivors will waste no time in completing the generator and reward my chase.
If a lone survivor hasn't been rescued even though it's been a while since they left the generator, I'll head over there, join hands with the survivor who couldn't rescue them alone, rescue them together, and escape at three 1 hit-survivors. It will be.
It's a team play.
That's because YOU choose to play as a team. Most people don't and again AT ITS CORE its not a team game. I don't even touch gens anymore because its boring a win for me is getting saves and memeing on the killer. Escaping is not a win to me and a lot of people don't want to play the game the way you do and some do but that's a choice of gameplay at the core of it all you don't gain mmr from dying even if you helped all three people escape making it not a team game if you got mmr based on all the survivors that escape then it would be a team game.

I always hear about these previously long queue times for survivors, but I never experienced that ever. I've been playing for over 3 years, since before they made the switch to SBMM. I think the longest I've ever waited was maybe 2 or so min, and that wasn't the norm. Was it a regional thing?
not sure if it was but there were times where I could literally go upstairs take a shower and come back and still be in que lol

I’ve been suspicious of their matchmaking for a long time, even before MMR with the old ranking system. It always felt that they’d intentionally mix good players with bad ones so the bad ones can get carried.
I admit, it could just be that my tinfoil hat is messing with my brain, but I wouldn’t put the thought past them.
The MMR is broken because it prioritizes quick matchmaking over good matchmaking. The problem used to be there were que times of up to 15 min as survivor. So the new matchmaking system just gets you in games faster even if that means bad teammates or killers and resulting in a ######### experience.
-
@xltechno said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3666625#Comment_3666625
First, at high MMR, almost 50% of survivors escape. And the possibility that there are some survivors escaping more should be understood by the following arithmetic.
(45%+45%+50%+60%)/4=?
That math still doesn't add up to 60% also the math doesn't work because the SWF escape rate is only 48% not 50. You are just taking numbers out of blue and hoping they work with your explanation but none of your numbers are data based just numbers you wished were true.

No, that's not the case. All long-time Survivor players know that even soloQ has some bad matches and some great matches. I am also one of them.
HUD has greatly improved soloQ Survivor's coordination. Survivors just only need to know from experience who wants what. A team can be formed simply by gathering talented survivors.
I have 4k hours in the game in solo q it is not a team game if all of my teammates escape and I don't my mmr goes down. Explain to me how that is team based.

why would they change the perk when they could just make the chase requirements different
because the chase requirements are based around bloodlust any competent survivor knows on certain loops you don't hold shift you just walk that's why fixated is so underrated. When walking you get out of chase and the killer cant build bloodlust and will actualy make the timer go down and they will have to build it up again.
-
@xltechno said:
Even in such an environment, advanced survivors boast a 60% escape rate.
For those who don't, it might be a good idea to take a moment to think about why they are different.
By the way, these survivors all agree that tunnels and camps are tactics, and while it's true that they may not be fun for survivors sometimes, but counterattacks are possible.
Did you not read the new stats where do you get this 60% the devs have shown the kill rate is 60%. Both sides cant have 60%
-
@xltechno said:
It will continue unless the survivors learn how to force the killer into not wanting to tunnel or camp. And crouching in the grass from the beginning just encourages the killer to do whatever he wants, and they are completely unaware that they are giving up the advantage to the killer. This is the current standard survivors skill.
In other words, the fact that the middle layer of Survivor players is filled with beginners is the main reason why the killer tunnel cannot be stopped. And no one is aware of this and no one learns. This is because they believe that it is more beneficial to allocate time to requesting improvements to development than to learning.
That's completely not true. You can learn all you want but killers are going to tunnel its a much easier game 1v1v1v1 vs 1v1v1v1v1. Contrary to you're beliefs I don't know if you are new but unless you are in a swf this game is not a team game.

If it can happen at all, that is enough for it to be a problem. The buildings I listed offer little to no room for mind games, so it doesn't matter how good a killer is, they are all equal when it comes to these. Meaning, no matter how good the killer, if you can pull it off against one, then you can pull off against all.
That is never fine. We have the same issue with Nurse. She is hard to play and she has been for a while (though I disagree that she's the hardest killer in the game). Were all of these nerfs to her unwarranted? I don't think so.
It can already happen before the perk came out people do it all the time to make the killer lose blood lust literally only works against bad killers he even admitted the killers were new he was using yellow bamboozle did you even watch the whole video or did you just watch the intro. ... Nurse is not hard to play lol all it takers is like 10 hours of playing her. you cant do it at the places you named you will run out of flashlight to quickly.

Anything that allows survivors to loop without starting a chase is a problem. That includes CoL.
They only showcased it around shack but you need to think bigger. If that is possible around shack, then what does that mean for GoJ, the chapel, the asylum, the Groaning Storehouse, Suffocation Pit's main building, Blood Lodge and Azarov's Resting Place? We are not just talking about some niche scenarios that allow a survivor to get a few more seconds out of a loop but potential infinites.
Yea but it isn't easy to pull off these killers just sucked he could have done the same thing without CoL by just walking instead. Against a killer with an iq more then 2 its impossible to pull off. You can obviously see he is not in the correct MMR bracket.

I’m very happy with Survivor. It’s thrilling and suspenseful. Hiding around the map behind different objects trying to avoid the Killer is really fun.
As to the Devs caring? I mean, obviously they do. I think it’d be crazy to think that they don’t care about a role. We have base kit BT, anti-face camp, and now anti 3-gen. How does this not come from a place of caring about the experience of a role? On top of that we keep getting new perks that help build new play-styles like Sable’s invocation perk. If I was a Dev I would be excited to show my labor of love to the community. It’s actually kind of sad how much ingratitude gets thrown at them. Yes I believe 100% that they care about the role and the game.
Survivor is perfect right now at 40% escape rate. Again “survival is not guaranteed” but soo many Survivors act like it is. It’s a form of entitlement that’s proved with how much 4%ing happens.
As to teammates handicapping the match, then at that point it becomes a game of hiding and enduring. Waiting out the other Survivors and outlasting them hoping to get the hatch. And if you can’t get the hatch or don’t have a key then there’s one last face-off against the Killer for the gate. It’s so intense.
In the event that the Killer gets a 4K that’s great too because that means everyone got interaction time with the Killer with the chance to run pallets and windows. It’s a win-win in my eyes.
This is a troll post right?Or are you serious lol?

I'm still waiting for some good or at least interesting survivor perks to be added. All the recent perks seem like they are built so they aren't good enough to affect the game's balance. As if anything looks even remotely strong, the community reacts with hysteria.
The most recent ones are basement self-care, basement deliverance and two minutes of sitting in the basement doing nothing. The first two are just worse versions of perks we already have, and the third one is basically throwing the match whilst being extremely bored.
Don't hold your breath.

Sure. The removal of "locker techs", "window techs" and the FOV slider making "FOV techs" harder weren't complained about at all. Because survivors are shining beacons of virtue, who would never use something that is completely overpowered. It's definitely not like survivors are still people and people love winning.
Yea but this isn't easy to pull of especially vs any killer that has an iq more then 2. You can see these killers are completely new to the game. This is a match making problem not a perk problem.

Yeah but killer perks are totally fine right.
Why we don't see those small nerfs to killer perks.
For example DMS is no longer stacking with other anti-gen and scream perks.
Or Haemorrhage effect which destroying perks like Solidarity, Resurgence.
What about solo-q stomper Knock Out.
Or multiple anti-gen perks on strong killers like Nurse, Blight, Wesker.
I don't know why only survivor perks are talking and calling problematic while killers have similar problematic perks. Even perks like Lithe complained here. It feels like people just don't want survivors have anything useful.
So let's say they nerfed those perks. Will people stop complaining? No. WoO is most likely will be next target. Probably with OtR and Resilience.
Yea but Grim and DMS do now lol

After Adrenaline gets nerfed I can't imagine this perk will be allowed to stay they most used perk with the value it brings. MFT was nerfed because it extended chases by 20%, windows goes much further than that. It can turn a chase from 10 seconds into a minute plus with the amount of map awareness it gives.
Probably I mean anything a killer complains about on this forum gets nerfed.

I think it was actually. There have always been players that were more competitive. But people didn't bring as many items and addons as they do now, which could be explained by the bloodweb and prestige update.
I disagree you could adjust how hard your games were back then if you wanted to super sweat if you wanted to play casual then go to green rank. With MMR now I cant play with any of my friends I'm trying to get into dbd because they get thrown into sweat games due to my mmr and I've bought the game for about 15 people only 2 have stayed to play which is sad becaquse i want more people to enjoy the game.

Yea that's why I said it works ALSO it works better in pubs.

@Xernoton said:
That's just what happens in a PvP game. People will try to get competitive and at that point they'll start to use whatever gives them the biggest advantage so that they can win the most games.
If you don't want to deal with this too much, then I recommend you try to not let it get to you and play chill. You'll get better and better at the game until you can easily win against opponents with much better stuff. Because even the very best loadout can't completely make up for a lack of skill. Not anymore.
I don't see how the devs are to blame for this when this is exactly what we, the players, have called for.

Secondly, if one survivor is already out with 5 gens still up then those survivors probably need their mmr lowered because that isn’t happening unless they are significantly outclassed in skill.

I explained that many survivors do this even in normal play, the viewers too. Most of the viewers are amateurs.
Why does this happen? The participants in the tournament are, of course, experts. It is natural that the general public admires them. They model themselves on the masters and try to imitate them.
Why? There are people who try to play hero and if they fail, they get angry and commit suicide, and there are people who don't give up even when the odds are against them and sometimes turn things around. Because it's obvious which one looks better. Because I'd rather be a real hero than a false one.
They're literally not even playing the same game though.

What are some that you know? What’s the best way to play them from a Survivor POV?
It literally all depends on what killer you are going against.
