Blood Moon is a very cool event. Bhvr put work to satisfy just for some people to talk negatively which obviously is gonna happen but I haven't seen much talk about how good it is accept the outfits. The outfits are great and the gameplay is wonderful on both sides, ( my opinion) I feel a lot of people who have negative thoughts for blood points but that's not the point. Just relax and enjoy yourself, games are for entertainment, not severe frustration, unless its your career than I can understand. Nothings perfect.
Well the event on its own is fine the problem is whenever there's an event people go out of their way to make the other side miserable.

Does. Not. Matter.
Okay so you are comparing it to a comp setting in a comp setting both people know they are in a comp game.. Its okay to admit that killer has every advantage in this game. Literally only a 2k against a cheating swf.

50/50 on whether the game will let you blind at pallets, windows or pick ups. Flashlights have been bugged for months and nothing has been done about it. Huge reddit post dedicated to posting clips of the issues happening and still nothing from BHVR about it. But thanks for the boring blood moon event.
Yea sometimes my flashlight just suddenly decides to turn of while I hold the button.

What? The Blight bringing their best things got matched against a team of 4 survivors running their best things and got a draw. That we're labeling a single instance of good matchmaking (albeit contrived) as "cheating" says everything about the DbD community. I've never seen a community with this large of a sucker punch mentality. People with a win streak mindset should want to go against players at their skill level. Otherwise, they can't be respected in the least.
I don't care if they won or lost they don't get respect either way since they pub stomped 2k people. You also missed the point that im saying the team cheated to only get a 2k and people swear that survivor is overpowered.

And you're missing the point that this "cheat" was nothing more than ensuring this competitive Blight went up against a competitive team.
The Blight played competitive every game. The "cheat" was to meet his competitive Killer playstyle with competitive Survivor playstyle. That is not a cheat that you can say "Killers are overpowered vs. Survivors", they met him on a level playing field, where his strongest and most broken stuff, was met with their strongest and most broken stuff.
You're getting too hung up on saying "cheated to win" to push a narrative my guy, and that narrative doesn't hold up.
Answer me this did he know he was going up against a competitive team?

Undone by the fact the streak was won by a player playing comp strats, against players who were playing public playstyles and had no idea who/what they were against.
So the point is moot. He was playing comp in pub games. The streak means nothing. Taking down a comp players public game winstreak using comp strats shows the game was even.
I think your missing the point that it took them cheating to only get a 2k thats what were talking about here.

You're overweighing man, dont be a smart ass, you know what I'm saying. They cheated in so far as they had exact knowledge of who they were facing. That was the only advantage they had... and in comp circles that isn't really an advantage.
Im pretty sure in a comp setting the killer knows who they are playing also and im pretty sure that's a HUGE advantage.
-
You'll do fine its still really easy to win.

By stream sniping him? They have callouts anyway in their regular comms.
What is watching his stream gonna do? They already know his perks, cause he runs the same things all the time. They already know his position and what he's doing by regular callouts. A comp team does not need to stream snipe to work out where he is. They already know.
The only cheating aspect here really is they built specifically to take him down with teh strongest stuff they possibly good. Once the game was underway they beat him legit.
Exactly that's cheating lol thank you for agreeing. Also even if he runs the same build every time you wouldn't know if it was him you are playing unless you stream sniped.

Oh sure, but my point is, any attempts to point at these and claim any kind of issues with "balance" is a useless barometer for balance.
As we saw with the Blight game, a fully coordinated comp team matching him at his own game, tied. Which is why I'm stating, that playing a comp playstyle in a public game lobby is not impressive.
You're forgetting the point where they had to cheat to even tie.
-
Nurse because the whole game has to be balanced around her and it ruins the game.
-
@UndeddJester said:
Personally a near 2000 kill winstreak on one of the strongest killers, using the most busted and powerful perks/add-ons/strategies against public teams, doesn't impress me.
In fact none of these win streaks impress me, and none of you should put any stock in results like this.
I used to go 70 kills to 3 deaths in public games regularly in Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and I was using competitive restrictions. I was a "rusher" so would sprint around the map trying to win every exchange I could while running as fast as possible at all times. Ea h of those deaths were to things like Claymores, Grenade Launchers or random Airstrikes/Helicopters.
Go onto a comp game, and I'd be fighting hard just to go even vs. pre-nades, snipers, and ofc the enemy rusher.
Crushing public players is not impressive if you're playing a game competitively.
Sure....But what it does do is make people want to quit playing and that's the problem.

No one was crying. They just asked if it was a balanced map. "Get better" doesn't add anything to discussion and is just a rude dismissal of their issues.
Yes it does it tells you how to make the map more balanced for you. Ive never had a issue getting 4ks on that map really any map for that matter killer is by far the easiest its ever been. If you wanna make things easier for you play more and get good. They also weren't asking if it was a balanced map they were talking about how hard the map is for them. Here's an example of how to ask if a map is balanced.
"Do you think (map name) is balanced?"
not
"I'm not sure why, but I REALLY HATE this map as killer, and Survivors seem to really like to go there with Offerings :(
Aren't some of the loops just too safe? I feel so powerless in this map LOL"

If anything, that's indicative of balance to me. Comp Blight playing for a win streak gets a draw against comp team playing their most broken loadouts. It's more a failure of matchmaking than anything else in my opinion. Why did it take nearly 2000 games for that Blight to be matched appropriately against survivors at their skill level? I feel like I'd want that happen more than once a year if I were a dev.
Yes the team having to basically cheat to get a 2k is balance lol.

A lot of players will argue that for some reason killers who win hundreds or thousands of matches in a row should not be talked about as far as balancing. For some reason the "best" killers incredible win streaks doesn't mean that the game is so ridiculously killer sided. Balance only matters if the game is balanced around your particular skill level, which in most cases is average at best. Most killers want the game so ridiculously easy that any game were they try to win they will. Momo actually was salty about losing (getting a draw) against a crack team that used certain perks. Lol, can you believe that someone that plays like that complain about anything? Momo is the embodiment of the DBD player base, and that's so incredibly pathetic.
a lot of killer players lol.
-
Crazy how they had to cheat to beat the killer. Maybe if you have to cheat to win something its kind of them cheating before you cheat to begin with.
-
@th3 said:
Clearly some things need to be adjusted for survivors. They shouldn't be breaking these streaks so easily.
🤣😂🤣😂 That was a good one
-
did the connection go down?
-
I do love the fact that I don't have to try hard to win as killer though i just kind of glide through the game guess because I don't tunnel and put myself in crazy mmr survivors usually end up screwing themselves so it not to hard.
-
@C3Tooth said:
I know stream snipping is breaking the rule.
But a comp team, stacking full meta and strongest item/addon, PLUS stream snipping to make the match tie (at 2K) against comp Blight. Shows there is something wrong with balance.
Facts killers hands get held all the time then they come here to complain about losing. Imagine if survivor had a 2k win streak every perk would be disabled lol.

My contribution is about the perspective of my survivor
If that's the case this is a anomaly and almost never happens how are you sure they are in a swf to begin with?
-
Noed is fine its for killers who suck at the game so they need something at least to make them feel better and want to continue playing or else the game would have no killers and que times would be like 30 min long. Its why the devs choose to keep killer in a healthier spot and hold their hand more because there's always going to be meat sacks to feed the machine but if you lose the machine operator the business dies.

If 4 gens are done and only 4 hook stages have been made, than at best Killer has only gotten 1 person out. Even in that situation, if a Killer hard tunnels and proxy camps one person that should only result in a 2 K as the other 2 can finish a gen and open the exit gate and survive.
Camping and tunneling only work because Survivors allow it to.
Camping and tunneling only work because they devs allow it because most killers are trash at the game and don't even try to learn how to play killer. That's also why they have bloodlust in 15 sec.
-
Most killers arent good so they tunnel then when their mmr goes up and it doesn't work anymore and they get stomped to the ground they come here and start complaining about everything else lol. One dude was on a almost 2k win streak as blight lost to a good team and started acting like a little cry baby because he finally lost 1 game out of almost 2000 which in no other game would ever happen.
-
Survivor knowing that in certain situations you can do everything right and still lose is super annoying and that's why people turn to swf.

Nope just note pad counting how many games it took I don't have any way to record gameplay. Was just curious one day and tried it and those were my results.

I personally think the side quest killers like Xeno and Singularity are great, everyone complains about gens being boring. Here are killers that give you something else to do to be useful to your team and people don't wanna do that either. I truly do not know what some people expect.
The side quests are fun but if the killer is good they counter the side quest immediately. Its very rare to see a xeno stand up from a turret or 2 unless the are completely new to the killer.

236 attempts, @popoles can correct me if I mess this up, but I think that's like 1 in 74 million (0.000000036).
Not quite as unlikely as winning the lottery, but still not really reflective of what the perk will give you.
well that's what it gave me so idk what else to tell you.

Probably my ranking based on consistency.
My personal build at the moment is Overcome and I use it with Shadowstep to lose the killer then heal up with botany/self-care to do it all again. It's a little shocking that most of the time my boon stays up all game cuz the killer can't be bothered to put it out.
Head on last? whattttt head ons the best unless your try so hard at this game sweat is dripping off of your balls

Many people claim that Ultimate Weapon is the "strongest info" perk but the data doesn't support this. I've highlighted the most used info perks below, and 3 info perks are used significantly more than Ultimate Weapon:
- BBQ and Lethal Persuer have double the usage rate of Ultimate Weapon
- No Where to Hide has somewhat higher usage.
- Discordance and A Nurse's Calling has similar usage
If UW was really the best info perk, its usage rate should be at the top not lower than 3 info perks.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JNYIOMZQKEGJ/image.png
https://nightlight.gg/perks/viewer?role=killer&sort=pick&shown=pick&start_days=28
The reality is that UW is a perk used specificaly by killers synergise with it and is not a generic strong info perk:
- Alien: ran due to base kit perk
- Trickster and Huntress: locker synergy
- Wesker: 40 m terror radius synergy
- Oni, Nurse, and Blight: high mobility let's them easily proc Ultimate Weapon
thats why the devs have problems fixing the game percent picked means nothing its the combos that work on perks. just like ftp+bu

Yeah chances are they did this once and went ‘nope useless combo never again’ after it wasn’t basically no unhook required deliverance. To be fair I did say with luck offerings and multiple people running Ace’s luck perk up the ante as well.
To be even fairer, both perks alone with no luck offering is pretty bad. It’s only a 35% chance you get off the hook and you’ve wasted two perks. You really need friends running up the ante+slippery meat as well for it to work and honestly most teams don’t know how to take advantage of the precious seconds a team gains from not having to unhook someone. Still on topic, Slippery meat still has a theoretical use. No matter how you spin the math weaving spiders is dog poo.
no I actually ran it as a test
-
@Nebula said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3677463#Comment_3677463
Just did the math
Your odds of successfully not escaping from the hook using slippery meat 6 times a game paired with ante up (a 7% chance to escape) is 1.645 x 10 ^-17 power, aka a literal statistical anomaly.
I’ll even be nice and assume you’re just grossly hyperbolizing, let’s say you ran it 10 games in a row with up the ante and tried 6 times per game to get off the hook.
You have a 0.00134% chance to not get off the hook…
Theres no need to lie about this bro lol
whelp then I didn't get off the hook with a 0.00134% cause I did it as a test. Also the % doesn't stack so if you have 6 attempts and each is 7 % its 7% each time it doesn't add on itself to a 42% it finally worked on my 236th try so figure the odds for that and that was the percentage. call it what you want bad rng bad luck I don't know but it worked after the 236th try.

It's not actively harmful and it's not as much of a beginners trap. In SWF with an offering and Ace's luck perk you can pretty much guarantee 100% you get off the hook without needing a rescue. That can be very powerful. Yes that's a lot of ifs but the amount of time it saves by making it so nobody has to rescue you is immense.
Though I think in general 'escape from hook' IS a beginners trap and probably should be removed and players can DC while on hook to be replaced by a bot so they don't ruin the game for anyone else.
In any case Slippery Meat has an extremely small niche. Weaving Spiders is actively harmful and grossly inefficient.
try it I ran both perks for over 200 games and never kobe

Lets not lie though slippery meat is still the worst perk in the game.

But spirit has terror radius when it is close to you, my mention to the loud noises on Toba Landing is the difficult to hear the breath of the survivor. There are no point of comparison between terror radius of spirit and the breathing of a survivor when is not injured, is injured and crouch or is a specific character like ace visconti, ada wong. If you miss the hit they can throw a pallet, jump a window, run away, etc. Miss the hit with a spirit has a lot of penalty.
Well that loud noises is suppressed for survivor also on that map when it makes that sound. There is no terror radius when the spirit teleports just a little sound.

The only way this game could grow it's playerbase and retain them would be if the game was actually welcoming to new players.
This system could work in DBD, but it would not benefit newer or more casual players. Their experience would still be miserable.
I don't think so honestly it would stop some of the oppressive meta (obviously there will be a new meta but hopefully not as oppressive) I think this is really worth a try as a test for a month on the ptb.
