I'm comparing the mechanics. We are talking about survivor sided events. That was a pretty killer sided one if you ask me.

We aren't talking about mechanics, we are talking about items that can directly impact a match and how one is limited while the other isn't.

These addons are pretty survivor sided, given that (I'm going off console controls here) Any ability that requires L2 to use, Clown bottles, huntress hatchets, doctors shock, stalking on Ghostace and Michael, aiming with deathslinger, etc, all those are unusable until AFTER you use the blight rush. During said blight rush you can't attack along with a big slowdown, as well as a cooldown before you can attack again, meaning half of the distance you gained is lost. But survivors just have to heal you and use the item and you get a free 20 second speedboost that is closer to a Sprint Burst than it is Hope.

And you're talking about a cosmetic item.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1695832#Comment_1695832

Because the killers got the event item no matter what and the survivors couldnt. This allowed killers to play like absolute ass holes.

Yes, compare a cosmetic item to an addon that you can get in abundance from the bloodweb and can have an ACTUAL impact on gameplay. That's big brain there Azame.

Some players will stockpile them, and saved them even more with black wards, really its annoying how everyone is complaining so much about this. I see no issues with how they are doing this little event. i am happy to see a opportunity for more bp and to see both new add ons in play. I agree with the fact that the killer add on might deserve to be limited to event only because it could be game breaking on certain killers for all we know. There is a bit more to think about then just crying like a child. Like ALL i am seeing right now is players crying why does Johnny get a lolipop and I don’t?? Killer main btw. ((I’m not responding to any replies I’m just throwing this out there.)

The killer addon is not worth being limited. It's a blight rush, you can't attack during it or at the end of it, you also get slowed down a lot when the rush ends. Majority of killers (If not all, I haven't tried many) can't use their powers until the rush token is gone. Ghostface can't stalk while he has a token, Doctor can't shock you unless it's static blast, Clown can't throw bottles, etc, etc. the addon can be more of a hindrance depending on if you use it right away or not.

It might be ok on some killers like ghostface while his power is on cooldown but otherwise it kinda sucks

Just used the new addon on ghostface, you can't stalk until you get rid of the blighted rush. Not to mention it slows you down a lot at the end of said rush

  • @BlueFang said:

The survivor addon is pretty bland and simple in comparison to the killer offering, all the survivor item does is increase repair speed for a few seconds while the offering can replace a killer's inherent power. Personally I would prefer both items didn't have a event restriction, but I see the rationale behind the decision.

They probably don't want to have new players in 6 months time asking why and how this one Huntress dashed and hit them, false reporting, etc. Because you know that will happen

did you just call 20 seconds a "Few"?? Do you realize how big of a difference 20 seconds (HELL even 11 seconds) can make in a match?

Edit: Just noticed you said it "increased repair speed". It doesn't increase repair speed, it increases movement speed.

I am not saying I am agreeing with this change, but pointing out the thought process that probably is taking place. What exactly does the survivor add on do?

It's an addon for medkits, and it gives the survivor being healed a 20 second speed boost. How big of a speed boost it will be is yet to be seen. If it's anywhere near sprint burst it will be beyond broken. If it's more like hope then no one will use it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1689370#Comment_1689370

idk, maybe one changes gameplay and power mechanics while the other is a status effect that’s already in the game

knowing dbd, the serum add on would be constantly bugged and i doubt they’d wanna fix it everytime it happens

Why would they need to bug fix an item that is only purchasable in the bloodweb for 2 weeks? After those 2 weeks any hording a killer does will eventually run out since they can't buy it after the event is over. And if the devs make a change to a killer that gets a different benefit from the addon the devs can put out a message stating that a player should use them before the change if they don't want a greyed out item.

  • @NursesBootie said:

Yo maybe the killer addons give a HUGE unbalanced advantage? Just sayin.

Here's a description of the killer add on.

A small amount of Compound Thirty-Four, the final serum The Blight

worked on before his transformation. Causes extreme mutations in high doses.

    • Unlocks 1 Token to use on the Blighted Rush ability, which replaces your Killer Power until consumed.

Press the Power button to initiate a Blighted Rush, allowing you to quickly dash forward, consuming 1 Token.

    • Cannot attack during a Blighted Rush.
    • 1 Token is recharged whenever a Survivor is hooked.
    • When used by The Blight
    • , instead increases available Rush Tokens by 1.

Blight Serum is only playable during the Eternal Blight Event.

Thanks for the details. Still, I fail to see how this is evidence of anti-killer bias. You have to take it in context with the rest of the updates that have been made to the game and then come to a conclusion. Is it more likely that they either made a bad decision, think the survivor add-on will be less OP than the killer one in normal play, etc. or that the devs just hate killers? C'mon now.

I believe there is a bias, to an extent. It isn't like I'm saying that they are out to ruin the game for killers (Although at times it feels like it.) But there is a sense that they want the game a little more in favor of the survivors. Granted we don't know how fast this 20 second speed boost is so we don't know if it's really op or if it's a garbage add on no one will use. If it's anywhere close to a sprint burst, yes this is HEAVILY biased. But if it's like Hope or something then no one will use it. We got another 2 days to know for sure though.

But still, event addons and offerings should be limited to ONLY the event they came with. That way it is fair from both perspectives. Then we wouldn't get the "If they keep theirs then I should keep mine" argument.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1689370#Comment_1689370

How about the fact that this game used to be unbelievably broken in favor of survivor and since then killer has been steadily buffed? How about the fact that they have a strong economic incentive to make the game fun for both sides?

I don't know anything about the event or what these add-ons even are. I'm just tired of constant unfounded claims of anti-killer bias.

Survivors have an addon for medkits that when used, the survivor being healed gets a 20 second speed boost. Killer gets an addon that gives them a blight rush, which they cannot attack during. Both addons give a spead boost. The problem is that the survivors can use theirs as long as they have the addon, where as the killer can ONLY use theirs DURING the event. These are both event addons so why is it that the survivors can use theirs months after the event is finished, where as the killer gets a greyed out unusable addon?

No, Blocking shouldn't stop Matchmaking from pairing you against a certain Player.

Why? Went against a really good Nurse? Block and never worry about them again.

Didn't like that a Survivor kept you in chase long enough for 3 gens to be completed? Just Block em.

    Any petty reason? Block.

Would be abused no matter what you say.

Fair, but there is still those actual exploiters out there that I'd rather not deal with ever again. Especially since I went through the whole process of sending in a ticket about them using an exploit yet nothing was done since I still played against them again.

  • @musefan said:

It's quite a small map, where else are they going to be?

The new Badham, small. Adds up as to why 4 pallets spawn in a straight line less than 10 meters away from each other.

It's not this bad on Dead Dawg for god sake, and that map is already tiny.

  • @Hopesfall said:

Is the Midwich issue where in the middle courtyard, there's a corner with a big pillar that has a pallet.. and it spawns with 2 pallets? thus making 2 completely safe pallets.

i had that happen yesterday, pretty garbage

Unfortunately no, It's an exploit allowing downed survivors to crawl out of reach of the killer.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

That isn't double pallets- that's just very very unlucky loop RNG. There's a key difference. These are double pallets:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/26OPH3HDUDPD/image.png

    And they're busted.

    (NOT MY SCREENSHOT)

EDIT: I love it when the image I paste doesn't paste the first time round.

That doesn't change the fact that this shouldn't happen to begin with. It's not as bad but it is nearly there. "Fail at looping 1 pallet? don't worry, you have 3 more directly in front of you all within 10 meters of eachother" "BALANCE"

  • Funny thing is it almost looks like pc on low settings. That’s really sad. Can’t wait to get a ps5 when they release

Actually hatch doesn’t spawn until there are at least 2 gens left with two survivors alive :)

Did they change it back to what it used to? or are you still playing on an outdated version?

This. If they want a 'EZ Escape' then let them have it. Who cares at this point? Too many people act super entitled to a 4k every match. I personally could care less if all 4 escape. I just want to go into a match, have fun, and move on. A simple Offering changes nothing. If anything, you now know where the last person who doesn't save or isn't doing a gen is going to be hovering around.

Here we go with the "EnTiTleD KiLlEr WaNt 4K"

Firstly: Where did I say I want 4ks? I remember saying I want survivors to EARN things.

Second: Nice job encouraging this play style.

Thirdly: The offering doesn't negatively effect only killers, it can effect survivors too.

Here's an example: No one has a key but the killer puts in the offering, you get down to only 2 survivors left. The killer can now herd one of the 2 remaining survivors closer to where the hatch will spawn, hook them, close hatch, then guard gates. You had a good game, you're close to earning the escape, but the offering ruined that.

Face it, no matter what way you cut it, a brown add on should NOT effect the game this much

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    Go ahead.

Not all of us that play killer get that bent up about keys.

What’s next? DC on map offerings? oh wait some of you already do that. I forgot.

Oh so you're just ok with a survivor escaping without doing anything. Making the game last longer because they won't do gens, are hiding the whole time, or won't get you off hook because "HaTcH!!!"

If there are 3 gens left and you can just go to and hop through the hatch without a care in the world, You. Didn't. Earn. It.

  • @28_stabs said:

Oh no, one survivor have a chance to escape without a need to grind Bill's perks. :)

Oh no my teammate left us on the hooks so they could get the hatch even though we did all the work.

Just because you escaped without needing Bills perks, does NOT mean you earned it. And you know what? Those same survivors will figure out "HeY dIs wOrK gUd" and they will slowly work their way up to red ranks WHERE THEY DON'T BELONG.

So have fun with the chance of a teammate not doing anything and just escaping while you actually did something to power the gates.

  • @The_Krapper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1605873#Comment_1605873

In that case you got a 3k because nobody was doing anything , how is this bad? You won the game and they died

It's not the fact that I won or lost, it's the fact that even if I do everything in my power, if there is a key with that stupid offering one person will ALWAYS get out. Low risk, high reward on the survivors part.

Edit: Hell, maybe even two if they got enough gens done.

  • @The_Krapper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/189483/im-gonna-have-to-lobby-dodge-keys-now

Gens still have to get done for the hatch to spawn otherwise it only spawns once all the gens are done if everyone is alive and in that case the match is already lost, I just run hag with Franklin's and trap the key up after I knock it out , you wouldn't believe how many people will die to try and get their item back

Not defending keys but offering a different approach to combat them

Or they just sit around doing nothing knowing where the hatch will spawn, with their key, waiting for their team to die. then when the killer closes is they can just run on over and open it. This offering shouldn't have made it past ptb

It's a game against other players fam, and with window blockers, no double pallets etc it has gotten easier for the killer than it used to be. Just roll with the punches. It'll come.

I'm not saying to make the game easier, I'm saying to fix matchmaking and ranking so I actually play against the people I'M SUPPOSED TO. "Roll with the punches" yeah, I'm currently the punching bag. Lastly "No double pallets" Did you ask the graphicly updated Badham about the double pallets? It might be getting changed but it doesn't change the fact that the devs thought about it.

  • Does this mean anything will be better on console? Probably not, grabs are still jacked all to hell. Unless they are yet to up the tick rate.

Edit: just checked, 60hz servers are live. So yeah, looks like nothing changed on console.

  • I didn't even get to test it. Knew something was up when I got hit through every pallet I dropped, even with the killer on the opposite side of it.

  • @AvisDeene said:

I didn’t know these were a thing. Does the Killer know when one is used? If so, I don’t see it to be too big of a deal. They would just have to sweat a little more. As long as we have Moris still available, I don’t think it’s worth complaining about.

If they add them after the ptb, they most likely will not be hidden given they aren't hidden in the ptb. But this game can already be a sweat fest, It really doesn't need another reason to be like that.

  • @vogit10102 said:

Play as you wish, as so many selfish killers do

So camping when the survivors have finished all the gens, and are teabagging, and clicking their little flashlights, makes me a selfish killer. Interesting

  • So no talking about the TWO pallets right NEXT to each other on Badham?

  • @Toybasher said:

Yeah I think it might be a bug. From survivor's perspective you seem taller than them but from the killer's viewpoint it's as if you're playing a tiny homicidal midget.

I kind of like the short viewpoint though. I am curious what it looks like if you ran shadowborn on him.

Would be neat if we got an actual dwarf killer.

    Chucky?

  • @Squirrel_Thicc said:

    There's no rule book.

It's a meme. Survivors complained so much in the past that it became a meme.

Rule number 213: Killer can not be within 200 meters of hooked survivor.

    or

Rule number 342: Killer must always let survivors blind them.

    That's all it is.

  • @MrLimonka said:

You can play however you want, just don't expect survivors to not be salty after dying on first hook because you decided to camp them. Plus what you are doing just encourages bringing DS/Unbreakable/Borrowed Time - just to escape these kinds of situations. So don't complain when survivors bring these perks if you want to camp.

Oh you mean camping when the last gen has popped and gates are powered is bad? I'm not scum, or new. I camp when necessary. Meaning when gates are powered and no one is dead, I'll camp. No other choice then.

  • "BeCaUsE dEvS jUsT cHaNgEd HiM O_o" is the response I've been getting from people.

  • It's pc entitlement. They think that just because they spent over $1000 on their pc that they can talk like their dick is bigger.

We are all doing the same thing, just in a different way. So it makes you think, do they not like things that are different? And if so, how far does that dislike of differences go?

Edit: If I get banned for saying "dick" then it is 100% the fault of the people that run functionality of the dbd forums for not thinking of every word they could censor.

  • Well bully for you son. You want to 1v1 random people because they disagree wit you. That is the most SINGLE sided thing I've ever heard of.

Its debatable, deathsligner has a quickshkt you vant react to, a smaller hitbox to shoot over almost every loop and through holes in the wall. A disgusting zoning that can win you chases in a second. You see he has great abilities.

But is he better than huntress? How many people will agree that he is "Stronger" than a killer that has been up near the top of the list with Hillbilly and Nurse?

  • @IMilkNobody said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1547045#Comment_1547045

most hits huntress can get slinger can do better and cross maps will never happen against good survivors

Huntress: Hits injured survivor over pallet, injured survivor goes down.

Deathslinger: Hits injured survivor over pallet, has to then work his way around the loop he shot over, passing his chain through parts of the loop causing his chain to break, survivor runs away.

Now tell me how he's better, because there really isn't anything that can be said that the community won't laugh at.

Oh yeah that's right, I forgot that even if you hit a survivor with the spear they'll still go down if you can't smack them, silly me. Play the game idiot. Deathslinger can't always secure a down if he hits you with his ranged attack, where Huntress can, from across the map too.

well this dead by daylight not GtaV or Modern Warfare 3 not saying there no hacker saying they are rare.

I'm with you I play on steam and ps4 I love crossplay and yes Hackers are extremely rare don't know where people get this game full of hackers.

They want to see a game full of hackers? give them an Xbox-360 and GtaV or Modern Warfare 3. Literally my first game on MW3 a couple years ago and a hacker boosted me to max prestige, next match an aimbot.

  • "Deathslinger and PH has no counterplay" You're joking right? XD. How bad do you have to be to not know how to counter deathslinger, he is literally a worse huntress, just block line of sight. As for PH he's a bit harder to explain but I have gone a full round only being downed and hooked once, escaping, all while being chased and not once getting tormented. (He was a purple rank PH btw)

ALL killers have counterplay, the devs are just getting better at making killers less predictable.

  • I think it's just the fact of more interaction. You can talk, roleplay, etc with both sides in F13. Dbd doesn't allow that privilege unless you are in a custom game.

  • I've always been a bigger fan of giving the survivors a first person option. Imagine how much scarier it would be if you're working on a gen and only being able to turn your head. You turn around and see Ghostface or Michael just staring at you from around a corner.

  • I thought legendary skins were supposed to also have some animation changes. Like with the Cheryl one, it completely changes the character and she even has different animations in the menu. Due to that when I bought the Minotaur I was expecting a little more than just a different skin.

  • I like it, just don't like how so many pc users have the BIGGEST egos and decide to rub it in our faces that they are better. Maybe it'd be a different story if the graphical update also optimizes console, allowing for better frames.

  • If you're gonna be scum and talk ######### because someone is doing the exact same as you but in a different way, don't do it AFTER you start playing with other side. Unless you don't like differences, and if that's the case, I feel so sorry for you.
