I think lightborn is fine, it’s one of the least of survivor worries, and no where close to op. Just annoying if a survivor wanted to flashlight/flashbang saves. They won’t always get matched with someone running lightborn.

I think that if I bring a perk or item to the trial, I should be able to use it. Its effectiveness should range from 100% but never 0%.https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/CAHVOU7XQ0Y1/img-4284.jpeg
my medkit and full heal build v plague would also like to have a chat. If she puts on lightborn we’re double cooked. No, but what you said made me laugh fr and they should block totems from being broken for at least some x amount of time.

the devs said they’re going to buff things in the killers favor because there are no plans to move away from the 60% KR target. It’s okay to be skeptical, but I believe them.

I am trying really hard to do normal gens, as i believe event gens do not count towards lightbringer, so max i'm getting after repairing 2 normal gens, 1 event gen , cleansing totems and opening a gate, is silver, is this normal?
if you’re looking for normal scoring for gens do normal mode, because the scoring for event gens mostly went towards the community pool to boost bp rewards, and we’ve already met the highest tier. The bp bonus is for both modes so you’ll gain the most bp in normal mode.

Makes me sad to think about where the survivor role is currently tbh. Dbd was my favorite game with almost 5000 hours locked in, now it's just miserable to play.
did you fill out the in game survey and tell them what you find unbalanced about it? I love surveymonkey(the software application) they used.

They must be noticing survivors going on hiatus in decent amounts, me being one of the daily solo queue survivor players that haven't played in weeks.
yeah one of my friends straight up uninstalled recently over the direction survivor gameplay has been going down. I am not surprised the survey is geared towards survivors when they had to be hard bribed to even do 2v8.

ghoul op needed nerf most people couldn’t figure it out. Most of the player base is casual. Even long time vets were like this is kinda nutty. Even then the adjustments were a slap on the wrist.
-
probably just some tweaking, I’m hoping if you’ve got a decent amount of time as survivor when you pick up killer you don’t get matched with dbd fetus survivors because that felt really bad to go against. I’m not saying you should go against the best immediately but definitely at least people with some amount of hours in survivor. Maybe 500-1000 minimum as a starting point? I just, it felt awful crossing over because yeah as someone with most of my time in survivor it was wayyyyyy too easy.
probably do something similar for killers with a significant amount of time crossing over to survivor.
Nobody with a significant amount of play time should be matched up with the bottom picking up the other side. Too much in game knowledge that doesn’t translate well to starting skill point.
like if you have minimal hours in either side fair enough.

Like setting up channels in a way that only allows people within a server role to talk, and the general public being able to listen in.
Anyways, I am currently setting up the basis for a server. Still a work in progress, but anyone with interest could come and check it out. Feedback and suggestions are greatly approved. And I am going to need a lot of people for administrating and moderating once things gets going

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/443696/how-do-you-get-scamper-hits-now
It wasn't a well thought out change at all. That's why it feels that way. Something cool to separate Chucky from other rush attack killers like Demogorgon or Wesker would've been to give him actually control of his Slice & Dice attack, instead of having your movement locked. He's had that setback in every one of his iterations (except the 180° exploit), and people still called him OP.
The devs really think survivors are stupid, and they balance off that assumption. Because as you said, the only way this attack can possibly function after a Scamper is if the survivors simply run in a straight line, giving you a free hit for no good reason. If you had more control, as I suggested, then the situation would be different. But in its current state, it's literally a worse rush attack in every way compared to Hillbilly's, Demogorgon's, and Wesker's.
I did play Chucky when he released, and man was he crap. Who would've thought a 110% killer would end up being weak? With manual scampering, even with the 2% Haste add-on, you couldn't even get good survivors at loops (110% killer, remember?); they'd always make it around again to the pallet. Same thing can be said about Ghoul's pallet/window vault; that's not a free hit at all, just another chance for the survivor to get another go-around. But yeah, Chucky: Way overestimated on his strength, way overnerfed. Reminds me of old Freddy being put in S tier.
Ngl when I heard he got nerfed I was like what? Because he seemed pretty balanced around average maybe a little higher mmr survivors to begin with.

I mean, here's the question: should there be a viable counter to it? Especially one as easily accessible as one perk?
The answer's actually really simple: no, there shouldn't. Remember, the game is asymmetrical. The Killer does need some advantages, which includes "I don't get reduced to playing perkless while survivors have most of their build left because there's a perfect counter that gets amazing value". If distortion was strong enough to negate four perks, it's overwhelming against one perk, and then what? Spies has to be meta in an eight year throwback?
Even a full hex build, which can be disabled, does theoretically get value from wasting time (map spawns being what they are, though…)
I really don’t understand this logic. If I build into full stealth , I don’t get upset when I get a killer that has a bunch of haste and traversal that’s built as an anti-loop that opts for chase perks and gen slowdown , because I OPTED to not use any of my perk slots to help in chase with speed. Sure it would counter that one specific area SURVIVOR AURA READING. There’s more than spies for tracking. So what if it’s an 8yr old perk, a counter is a counter, you just had to swap out 1 singular spot?Spies is still good even if it is old. Distortion didn’t make you invincible. The devs said before the distortion users were still dying and it wasn’t some super advantageous perk that guaranteed escape, so if power is the arguement they weren’t escaping more…. I’m tired of going back and forth about this perk. It’s legit ### now, I guess unless you’re using it just to find out what the killer is running to counter that, not my style but do you. Better perks out there that buy the team time it’s F tier in my book. Time is king more than anything else in this game.

I really like this list, it feels right. Thank you for putting this together.

Naturally everyone will largely disagree, (subjective afterall) but after 8 years & 15,000 hours I feel i've played against & as all killers enough to put something reasonable together.
(I say reasonable, then its instantly mocked when trapper isn't in the bottom few 😂)
I still look forward to seeing it, trapper last or not. I won’t mock you. Every now and then similar to hag there’s a trapper that’s just built different and been scheming in a lab for like a decade. It makes me question seeing him that low when you’ve seen potential differences.

Aura reading can never be out of control. Dude, y'all are literally comparing it to gen defence, instadowns, hexes, everything, and still saying that mere information is the most outrageous thing. The information the killer gets on you is only as effective as his ability to do something with it. If the killer sees you on a gen across the map, who cares? Just run to the nearby loop and loop him. If you're at a broken spot like shack or long wall jungle gym, they could have constant wall hacks and literally nothing about the chase would change, because you can just react to their movements while waiting at check spots. If the killer sees you healing because of Nurse's, go heal further away next time. If he has one of those niche perks that shows your aura, when you're in basement or something random, maybe he should get that hit. I just don't see what's so unstoppable about aura perks. You can still loop, do gens, everything. Nothing about the core gameplay changes.
yeah my bone isn’t with full aura, but the lack of a viable counter to it. Because it eats into time to counter all the aura. Of course they’re coming for aura now that distortion can’t be blamed. Full aura is a heavy time advantage sure you can run other things that also buy time, but the problem is the lack of a viable counter to it. Because working at the steps to counter aura just takes too much time away from everything, and well you can’t control your whole team. If only there was a perk that countered it for everyone instead of self.

Thats nothing to do with stealth being a part of the game. Thats a issue with people doing nothing at all. Thats a big difference.
yeah I don’t mind stealth players if they know how to take a chase when they need to, and body block. Idc what anyone is running tbh as long as you’re making the best moves for the team. I’ve been on plenty of teams though where someone wasn’t using stealth and doesn’t understand this, they can nerf stealth to the ground and it wouldn’t fix the teamwork issue. Don’t just believe me though, look at the player that cost the team the matches build at every endgame and 8/10 times its not stealth related.
-
I remember when if you were a p3 Laurie you basically got lobby dodged because that meant you were a swf team and someone was ratting with original OoO. Killers often wouldn’t even chase you just for being a Laurie. I think it used to mean something because you lost everything when you would prestige and it took forever to get to 50. Now? Doesn’t mean anything.

They nerfed Prove because they didn't like the idea of perks giving BP bonuses.
Look what happened to BBQ, WGLF and Distressing to name a few.
All of which were perks that incentiviced a different playstyle, and offered a significant BP bonus.
BBQ incentiviced spreading hooks.
WGLF incentiviced going for saves and taking hits for your team.
Distressing was more a wildcard, but the larger terror radius opened up for some interesting builds.
And Prove Thyself incentiviced teamwork, with a double co-op BP bonus on gen repairing.I’m talking about when it stacked for repair speed and was nerfed, because everyone would bring it and had nothing to do with a bp bonus, but a speed bonus. Then legion came out with discordance, and survivors stopped ganging up on gens altogether. If I had to pick an exact point in time it was right here when survivors learned and the point was driven home that separation was best. This was back in like 2019.

Yeah, I kind of hope they try to nerf some of these things in the next health update and rebalance toward gameplay that's engaging and reasonable on both sides. But I do also worry that nerfs to certain playstyles will tilt SWF balance toward bully squads. Currently, I almost never do poorly against bully squads, though obviously a strong team that plays efficiently can give me a rough match.
But even if I 4k a bully squad, I feel like I need to relax after some of them because the matches can be so annoying. I don't want to see that playstyle inadvertently buffed. People talk about bm from the killer more than bm from survivors, and I tend to agree with a lot of those opinions. But ughhhhh... Sabo, flashy, locker hop, flashbang.
Anyway, I do understand where you're coming from. I just very much prefer to not intentionally take actions that will make my survivors have a bad experience, aside from just having all bad chases or something. I feel like any time we share a game with people, we owe it to other players not to intentionally give them an overly had time. But I know there are a variety of opinions on that topic :D
I think about you too so all my clickys die in my inventory. What does flashbang even do? Idk. 🤷♀️ 🫶

Nerfing prove was a mistake. How could killers want a perk nerfed that encouraged inefficiency? I don't get it
because all they saw was “gen speed buff” and the short sightedness made them lose sight of how beneficial it was to have multiple survivors in the same spot for pressure purposes. Kind of like how when survivors learned they could speed rush gens with resi a long time ago when killers demanded nerfs to healing, so healing got a nerf and anti healing got buffs, and well then it was not “they’re healing to quick” it turned into “they’re not healing and gens are flying” I can go on and on.

I'm mostly being insanely sarcastic tbh.
I said that people splitting up on gens was worse for the killer before the prove nerf, and nerfing that perk would just make gen rushing worse. At that time I was told I was an idiot, and it was 100% PT (and BNP) causing the problem.
Fast forward to today, and shocked Pikachu it looks like people are splitting up on gens more. Who could've seen this coming?
Ah gotcha.
I tried to tell them the same thing about distortion(it basically worked in the killers favor when not used right)now I see all the stealth players running more annoying things than distortion ever was. What can you do though?

I would not even bother trying to explain anything to any killer here. They only assume distortion was use to hide. Even though it was just more than hiding, it allowed for safe saves, finishing a gen that is important so some high mobile killer cant see you to pop it from 90% to 0%, or even prevent a would be 3/4 person slug and what not, or as you said help to rescue someone safely.
🤷♀️ what can you do? It freed me up to run a different annoying perk now that doesn’t benefit killers at all. So many options for a slot that was easily countered by literally picking even 1 non survivor aura info perk. It definitely got nerfed to pacify killers that thought they needed 4 survivor aura perks. Oh well, at least distortion can’t be blamed now for being a team killer now by either side.

You know, they should really give survivors a perk that encourages them to group up and work on gens together. Maybe even add a blood point bonus for team generator work to sweeten the pot.
Sounds like survivors would like it, and killers would benefit from people grouping up together. Big win all around.
I bet it would be meta.
technically I think we have 3 off the top of my head:
Friendly competition
Prove thyself
And potential energy(which isn’t technically a group up, but feels like one depending on how it’s used)
I think most prefer resi though, because gen splitting is still better for reasons. I don’t see those worms going back in that can.

I don't think it's the devs themselves who hate stealth, I think that they are simply "reflecting" what the playerbase thinks, and the playerbase does hate stealth.
As killer it's insanely boring to go around the map trying to find someone to chase, not to mention that taking a long time to find someone might equal many gens popping on the other side of the map, thus aura builds are extremely popular.
But most importantly, many survivors hate stealthy teammates because the fact that you, as a stealthy player, did not get found does not mean that the others won't, and most times stealthy teammates end up with zero hook states whereas everyone else who actually tries to distract the killer through chases ends up dying. Stealth is the kind of strategy that only works if everyone is doing it, otherwise the same survivors will be chased all the time and end up dying faster, turning the match into a 3v1 much more quickly than if the never-hooked stealthy survivors took the chase. Also, while not every stealthy survivor plays like this (some actually show their faces and take chase when it's needed) it doesn't help that it's very frequent to meet stealthy survs who play very selfishly.
agreed if you’re playing overly stealthy it’s bad for your team if you’re not stepping in as bait and don’t care about intervening. It is best as an “everyone’s doing it” and at worst if you don’t understand macro though it’s a pretty good way to accidentally get your entire team killed very early. It’s very gray. Not a blame the tool though but the user kind of thing, because it can be super beneficial to the team, but not when greeded like over altruism. You need it and it can buy time , but not to the point where nobody is touching gens and just being flies around the killer.

Now it sucks, bcs i can't even get one gen with randoms, who fall at 5 second of the match, and the killer immediately flies to me on bbq, because the first token was already eaten by the pursuer, let them at least return 3 tokens at the start like they did before.
it doesn’t buy your team any real time now, there’s no point in running it, I never thought I would say this but yeah waste of a perk slot to equip it. You’d be better off running a progression perk to buy the time in altruism, lightbringer, or even extend evader. Idk maybe if you’re good at breaking los then distortion but honestly the tokens get chewed through so quickly and go off when you don’t even want to use it(like when you’re giving a heal or at the start of a match). Too few tokens for how quick they’re cooked when you’re being a contributor. Honestly there’s much better perks now. Distortion really only bought a limited amount of time before anyways, now it buys like none if you were using it offensively.
-
@NarkoTri1er said:
Distortion is still decent, unless you are scared to enter in chase and actually want to spend 99% of your match hidden from the killer
I’m not scared, I would like to be able to finish a gen though before I’m out of tokens at least once, or be able to not be read at important moments when you don’t want to be. Rn you load in with a singular token and it’s ###. There’s literally no real reason to run it because I’m now not getting any of the coverage I was getting before to help the team out for saves or clutching a gen. I wasn’t using it to “avoid the killer” it does in fact suck atm, especially when lethal pops off right out the gate. It is in fact not decent at all. I see no real value in running it when there’s more solid picks now.

Hag being behind Trapper is a crime.
Like, I play Hag semi-frequently, and let me tell you: Once you set up a dense web, the injures and downs just keep coming.
And, if we count in her best add-ons (Rusty Shackles and Dried Cicada imo), you have a good chance.
Certainly better than Trapper.
I’ll say it I’ve been on teams that got absolutely destroyed by hag because they played that phenomenally, even when the team is playing really well. Every now and then there’s a hag out there that is breaking molds, and doing unthinkable things, and rocking my ####.They’re like unicorns though, so she can use a buff.
