Yeah, I also noticed that. But I cannot really make anything from the images. (To be fair, I was also not really able to make anything from the letters either. I noticed that some were highlighted immediatly, but I did not spot all of them and I also did not know what "The Ones Who Live" is, since I am not that deep into TWD anymore)

FNAF-Fans are something else. After speculating for years that specific Chapters might be FNAF, they get one and the first thing they do, they want more FNAF-Chapters. Sigh. It would also not really make sense to make a second FNAF-Chapter right after the first. I mean, Springtrap comes without a Survivor, having a double Survivor-Chapter for FNAF right after that would just be weird.
There are clearly letters highlighted. And they dont spell FNAF or anything.

When I started on PS4, I bought the chapters that had been already released all at once with actual money. The original chapters since are all shard purchases.
I did the same thing later when I bought the game on Nintendo Switch. God did that one bite me in the ass, all the chapters I bought with money are tied to the Switch exclusively. :(
But yeah, shards take a while to earn. A lot of people pay money for original chapters.
my condolences on your switch buyers remorse 💐 yeah same I’m sure a lot of people do. There’s no way most people are saving shards to get org cont

Even if that's true, why does it matter?
Because they're a business. They need to make money if they want to keep the lights on. Making chapters based on content that underperformed is antithetical to that.
it's not like people get original chapters with real money anyway
Lots of people pay real money for the original chapters. If they didn't then BHVR would go bankrupt lol.
yep that’s me, right here, raises hand. I think I’ve bought 1 survivor ever with shards. Everything else I’ve paid money for bc I can’t be bothered. I use all my shards on cosmetics, bp, or killer perks in the shrine.

Kind of the other way around. Legendaries are more expensive than ascended skins.
From the dev stream a while back they said Ascended skins feature extra VFX but aren't quite "Ultra Rare", not sure what makes a skin qualify for a Legendary exactly, but my guess would be significant model changes or very unique appearances.oh okay thank you 😊

That's still not the point. It is more complicated than it was, when one of the stated goals for the rework is to make the power more intuitive to understand. They are adding a bunch of different layers that can add a different point of confusion for new players. Do I think it would be that hard to understand as a long time player? No. I understand it. But new players will have no IDEA what anything is. All of that is way more complicated than "Don't get scanned by the drone." And you can't really blame them for being ignorant— Nobody just looks up what every killer does when they start the game, it's not a thing people do.
But people will look at a skull that shines a light around and say "Oh, I probably shouldn't let that see me." People won't go "Oh, that might start flying at me and tackle me, oh, I have a trap on me I need to take off, I'm being chased and now have to juke a delayed-blast projectile that relies on me having this weird thing that drone put on me." That's way more to figure out.
Edit, because I forgot about the Global Detection power:That's also another random layer of stuff survivors just, have to guess at? They suddenly have an eye on their screen. They probably won't even know they've been detected by it, just that it… Happened. Suddenly the killer goes over to them. Maybe. How are they supposed to know how to crouch or stand still? They're not gonna, probably not even if the indicator is colored. It's all a bunch of different places new survivors can fail to understand, compared to "Drones can scan you if you don't stand still or crouch while they look in your direction. Don't let them do that."
there’s also the loading screen that gives you hints when facing killers when you’re loading in, that’s something to consider as well. New players are new players, they don’t know much of anything anyways knowledge comes with time, information sharing, and research.
I once got my bum handed to me repeatedly playing Nioh fighting Umi Bozu, then I looked up how to fight umi bozu, only to find out I hadn’t been lighting bon fires that debuff them, and made the fight easier. They’ll either search for information or they won’t to get better. Some people beat their head against a wall until they learn or don’t, and others outsource for help. That’s just how people are.

I don't necessarily think it is that hard to understand, but it is objectively more complex, and looking at it from a new survivor's perspective, all the things that you have to do against the current proposal are far less intuitive than "Just don't get scanned by the drones." If the intent is to make it more intuitive, they have failed and made it worse. If the drones are weak enough that knowing the counterplay isn't necessary anyway, then that's not actually a good thing.
I don’t play SM so I have no real input on performance, I don’t feel like it’s my place. I’m just saying as someone that mostly plays survivor it doesn’t seem that complicated to understand counterplay duck walk, don’t move during alarm, and try to dodge drone in chase. Go into injured but not downed unless the drone is powered up on you if you got got, also mend from drone attack when you can. To me it does not seem that complicated to understand counterplay. If someone doesn’t take the time to read because they play solo, or people are grouping and not sharing the information they know it seems like a game knowledge issue, and not a “this killer is too complicated issue” they’ve got fog whispers that can spread this information.
-
ya know I read through it and it does not seem that hard to understand what to do as survivor.

the bots that remain can end up jumping off the hook or using unbreakable to get back up. 1 second its clear cut 4k, all players abandon and turn to bots. The next min a bot is somehow up and running around possibly unhooking other bots or heading for hatch (which has happened to me). IV even had a bot use DS on me when I'm picking up seconds after the survivor abandoned. I've had a few matches like that so I wouldn't say it's that strict. It would be nice to know if MMR is effected for killer in these situations. Does it get effected if killer abandons when all are bots? Does it get effected if a bot escapes the hatch? Is it worth wasting time playing with bots?
On a side note, survivors can skip the mori/hook animation because they want to save time and don't want to see it again... Personally I would like the same for killer. An option to abandon when all gens are done and everyone is at the gate so I don't have to waste time going to the exit to force them out and seeing the t bagging again.
My condolences 💐 if only they played that well and stuck it through not being a bot.

Alright, alright — enough already! I jest — I'm just jesting, of course. I'm sure your breath is fine… console player. 😏
I'll keep an eye out for your name in the Trials! We can be friends 'til the end! :3
Can't fix what was never broken, darling. I stay up.
I will acknowledge your stellar team play if you truly do wait at the gate for friends and family to make it out safely. Typically, that isn't the case — and we both know it.
Thank you for trying to understand. 9-5 killering is hard work no lie, everyday I bust my ass for this family and come home to ungrateful children at the exit gate! I cut the crust off your escape and you wont touch it unless I get in your face about it? Why can't we all just work together and make things easier for everyone?
I look forward to you being absolutely obsessed with me then. It feels like we’re building a -bond- pretty sure I’m the only TheHeroLives running around on dbd like a chicken with their head cut off.
What’s it like staying up? I feel like I’m always down busting the worm.
Yeah there’s some sore winners out there, but it couldn’t be me. I’m just making sure people are marked safe, there’s a killer on the loose! Also I don’t want my friend to die, or maybe they were a great teammate so I want to go get them because they risked their life for me, so I wanna go get them. If it means it’s my time to go, then it’s my time to go, I understand.
It is hard work, and you guys don’t get enough credit for doing your part. Thank you 🥺👉👈

If you're not mouth breathing, then why does the whole exit smell like stank ahh survivor breath? Huh!? You can celebrate together in the end game chat I know you will anyway. I'll celebrate with you even, as long as you deserve such grace.
2nd | You best believe that if I get a hook during collapse - one of you is going to stay with me forever. Go for the save I like to have options. :3
3rd | I'm sorry if I had implied that this is all about me exclusively - there are likely >1000 killer players who share my opinion.
You raise some good points but I think personally I'd prefer if killers did have the the ability to trap you in if you refuse to leave appropriately. Go ahead and cancel me 💁♀️
Sorry I forgot to use mouthwash before the match, my bad. You have a mint? I can’t celebrate in End Chat because I’m a lowly console scrub🫣
That’s the spirit! listen between you and me if one of us has to stay forever with you, choose me, let me be the one you want to keep with you forever. I can fix you.
Don’t I know it, I was just saying because I know a lot of people think survivors are waiting around for the killers attention or to be negative but it’s mostly just survivors making sure everyone is safe or seeing what happens so they don’t leave someone behind, and celebratory butt dances amongst each other. Why would I cancel you? You want people out that’s understandable. Also my apologies Mrs. Killer.

I thought that this was a somewhat subtle way for the devs to mitigate survivor toxicity and I was all for it with houndmaster, it's not like you could somehow clutch the game and 4k at the exit gate… I understand why it could be frustrating on survivor side but it's only punishing if you are standing at the exit like a mouth breather. As for the newer implementation of this mechanic with the ghoul… Yeah it's nice to get free hits off for a lil extra bp at the end of the trial but if anything it's even more frustrating for killer players to think they have gotten someone at the exit gate just to watch them run out… It has potential to feed into survivor toxicity which in turn makes killers more toxic and then we have an even worse us vs them mentality going on and I think we can all agree that up to a certain extent we could try to avoid that.
first of all I’m not mouth breathing, why are you running in here? This teabag show isn’t for you, it’s a celebration with my teammates, that we did it, again what are you doing here?unless you’re trying to do cute stuff with us. We teabag each other, spin in circles, point, wave, and nod at each other. It’s a happy dance. We’re just clowning with each other at the exit gates.
secondly I’m hoping you don’t run over here and get someone not marked safe outside the exit gates, maybe get more altruism points from a save once you hook them.
Third of all it’s not about you Mr? Mr. Killer. I’m trying to see if everyone else is at a gate or going to make it out while being safe myself. It’s teammate things -flips hair -you wouldn’t understand.
-maybe some groups are trying to be weird and toxic but it’s mostly points 1,2, and 3-

Indeed the option for survivor to abandon is instant when last survivor is downed. I've had many matches where 2 remain, I downed one and the other was right next to them so I downed them both. I don't even have enough time to put 1 of them on hook before they turn into bots.
yes because it triggers in scenarios where everyone is down(pure slugged across the board) or hooked mix of the two. Whether or not it’s a bot the last 5 seconds of the game on the down isn’t going going to mess with mmr for you as killer. The player just said “nope I don’t want to see the Mori again” basically and you’re going to Mori the bot instead. Anything that means all players are “out of commission” triggers abandon. It’s pretty strict on the survivor end for when it allows it, and if they abandon it still counts as a loss for them(but they were losing anyways).
Don’t just take my word for it though, go play survivor and see for yourself. -

As far as I’m aware it’s instant, no time requirement.
I’m pretty sure it’s not instant and that’s just some residual survivor “i don’t want to play” mentality. It literally has only triggered for me less than a handful of times.

Right those people caused this I agree. It doesn’t change the problem though. Even just adding like 30 seconds to the timer before it pops up would help.
does anyone know how much time has to be accumulated on the ground for the anti slug mechanic to kick in for survivor? Or do I need to get a friend to go test this?

There is no "too long". They can abandon instantly.
it’s part of the anti-slug mechanic because killers were just slugging survivors and letting them bleed out. You can thank them for this. The only time it’s triggered for me is when I’ve been repeatedly slugged and not picked up.

This is exactly what I want to know. The killer shouldn't be forced to stay in a match of all bots to get their win. If only bots are left in the game the abandon should give the "4k" to the killer and count as a win for mmr purposes.
you gotta kill the bots to get the kill to count towards mmr.

Not to mention, Lightborn can be a waste of a perk slot. I've equipped LB so many times against what I thought would be a flashlight sabbo squad, only to find that none of them attempted blinds, outside of maybe one or two poorly aimed blinds during pick-up. So I don't understand why some survivor players are so up in arms over the perk, unless they're just tthe type to complain any time killer gets to have some semblance of power over survivors.
I think it’s at best like Smurf said a “QoL perk”, and at worst a waste of a perk slot. Lightborn is not a hill I care to die on as a survivor. It’s the least of my soloQ worries, and it would just buff swf to touch it in a negative way.

I do know that, I'm just saying, people are going to be more inclined to do it if there's a serious cosmetic reward at the end. It's at the very least something to be concerned about when designing potential rewards.
🤷🏻♀️ I’m just spitballing out here. At the end of the day idc what they give players. Could be a
Charm for all I care lol if I’m being honest on where stand on p100 rewards. I don’t really know what they can do outside of bp, shards, charm, banner, badge, or cosmetic. Maybe a boost on a rift on the free track at your choosing? Idk. Not really a ton of options that wouldn’t result in lobby dodging via some cool cosmetic you get for reaching p100 on a character as survivor.

fr what does it even matter
to some people the invisible number has a death grip on them because:
holding a three gen until people quit though doesn’t really make you the very best(they think it should boost their mmr). Slow clap you figured out the easiest way to play killer, and one of the hardest things for survivors to break. I would call it a mechanic flaw.

At the cost of them being frustrated and burnt out because of how long the P100 grind is when you're actively pursuing it, though. That sounds more like a downside to me, personally.
nobody is holding a gun to your head telling you to p100 a character. There’s also the option of just saving up shards or buying the outfit you want. I don’t really care if there’s p100 rewards or not. It doesn’t really mean anything other than you’ve been playing the game and dumped all your points in a singular character.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3917970#Comment_3917970
Wouldn't the free choice of outfit be a really heavy incentive for people to get characters to P100?
it would keep them playing the game wouldn’t it? Plus it solves the lobby dodging from a special outfit because it’s a pick from one that already exists.
-
a badge, a banner; and 1 free choice of outfit for that character from the store, unless licensed of course, and if licensed then 21000 shards so they can choose an outfit elsewhere.
