I’d like to see an April Fool’s mode where the four Survivors have to hunt the tiny Killer. The Killer can get “hit” like ten times or something. Like an actual Survivor bully simulator.

I think it would be fun if DBD had an event called Deception where a killer had the ability to take the form of one of the survivors. Perhaps you could even change between the different ones, so you could pick the most effective time to turn into each survivor. As an added bonus, turning into that survivor also let's you see the survivor HUD, so you know as much as survivors do about what's going on. I think the level of paranoia involved going up to a generator, not knowing if the person sitting next to you is another survivor is actually the killer, would be interesting.
Yes, I realize swfs might have a leg up on solo players, but you have to admit the image of them screaming their exact locations constantly through out the entire match is rather entertaining.
I also like the idea of having an event where chests are hidden throughout maps that contain puzzle pieces one needs to assemble to open the exit gate. The killer can ALSO locate the chests and rob them, assembly their own puzzle that will lock the exit gate. If the killer acquires all the pieces, all survivors in the trial are automatically killed by the entity. No hooks. No generators. Winners take all.
I would love to play something like this.
Edit: Also, what about the game mode where Survivors are first person and the Killer is third person?

You're basically playing a different Killer! This playstyle is obviously way weaker then to just switch to whatever abillity suits the current situations, but I really enjoy just running around as the Wolf just puncing on people playing pac-man as I chase!
I sometimes wish the wolf was it's own Killer haha.
Pets? Pets?

Maybe there’s a way that slugging can be turned into another game for Survivors. I can’t recall who here mentioned it but someone here mentioned base-kit Tenacity. I’ve been thinking about it and I think it would be a healthy start. Because at least Survivors can reliably hide and recover at the same time if the Killer decides to slug.

I usually do about a 60/40 maybe 70/30 so I consider myself somewhere in the middle, but if we were gonna go on averages, I would probably be considered a survivor main.
I know my own reasoning for what I’m about to ask, but I want to ask the actual killer mains. In matches where things are being chill and everybody is just farming it is very common for the killer to grab their two hooks on everyone and let everyone go and this I understand. But where my question comes in is when the survivor wants to give back to the killer such as I just had a few matches where I wanted to give the killer the kill. They let me get my challenges they let me farm and get some points and I was very appreciative of this so in return I wanted to give them the final hook or Mori, but they refused. Both times that I tried to do this tonight they refused. And this is not just a tonight thing. It’s almost all the time when a killer does play in a chill way they literally just refused to take the kill. Killer mains why is this?i’m just trying to give back the same respect so I don’t understand why nobody ever wants to take it.
It’s too painful.

Happy Halloween! 🎃
We put out bowls for the trick or treaters and then stay inside watching horror movies. Before trick or treat started we watched Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, during trick or treat we watched the original Halloween, now we are watching Trick r Treat.
We do two candy bowls, one that's chocolates and the other fruit ones like gummie bears and Starburst. We also put out some little Halloween coloring books, Amazon has packs that are like 60 books and each one is a 10 page book for pretty cheap - figure if there's diabetic kids or kids that have parents that take away candy at end of night then they atleast have something they can keep from trick or treat.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/D8ZRIS1LVIIP/20241031-192033-jpg.jpg
Just took the bowls in since trick or treat ended some time ago, little less than half of the fruit candy is left and about half of the chocolate candies. Husband is trying to stick to a diet so the leftover candy isn't going to help. 😂
Oh my gosh how cute!!! 😍😍😍 What a great idea having the coloring books. The whole thing is so thoughtful wow. That was nice 😊 Thanks for sharing.

And would remove any pressure for other survivors to rescue them, after all they'll get themselves up eventually anyway.
Which was the problem with the basekit Unbreakable PTB.
Slugging exists for a reason, to generate pressure when it's not advantageous to hook. So regular slugging throughout the course of the match shouldn't be punished.
The problem is entirely; slugging for the 4K, and bleeding out to grief.
Both would be solved if the ability to pick yourself up only activated when all survivors are down. If all remaining survivors are in the dying state, one of them can get back up. After all there's no pressure to steal from the killer because there's no one else to pressure.
That would be a fair solution.

It was our last 18+ night, which generally means actors are expected to touch and interact with guests a lot more. I was still gunshy about moving around too much so I kind of went in a different direction with what I did since the train car is pretty wide open (so hard to do jump scares, it's much more designed for the guy who is normally in there, who has leg pads on and slides down the car to scare the crap out of people but I obviously could not do that :D)
I basically stood in the middle of the train car twirling the big lollipop in front of my face to try to really emphasise the wonderful makeup job the makeup team did. I then would boldly declare that before they are allowed to pass me, one of them must face me in one on one combat. When one of them stepped up, I put my arms out to do rock paper scissors.
If I won, I basically became a little teenage punk who just won at Fortnite. I'd call them losers, yell at them to get out of my train car cause I don't let losers be in there. Tell them they're on the loser train to losersville. Etc. etc.
If I lost, I sulked. I looked at their hand, looked down at mine, looked at their hand, back down at mine, slumped my shoulders, and then tucked myself behind one of the seats mumbling to myself about how this was a stupid game anyway and that they were just big meanies and bullies and that I hope that the clowns (as this is the beginning stage of The Circus) would eat them.
Once in a while a customer would adlib something before I did my challenge so I had to just wing it but I'm mostly good at improv kind of stuff. Like one guy did a mime action when I was standing there so I just reacted to his miming before he "put me in a box" and trapped me. No idea why he thought that up but hey, I'll work with what I get if the customer does something before I get a chance to challenge them.

Like last year, I was mostly behind the giant snake puppet. He lights up, his mouth moves, and he makes hissing noises.
Unfortunately for me, my chronic pain issues really flared up and I determined the snake was just too hard on my body to continue. Thankfully there was only one show left and I was taken out on the floor instead of of being behind the snake (though I feel like the actor who replaced me behind the snake was REALLY bitter about it but I did it for 90% of the shows so suck it up! 😅)
I went into the clowns train car instead. You can't see it in this light but it has black lights in there so the makeup around my eyes glowed.

We'll see how my health issues go but I do really enjoy working there so I hope to continue to do so.
🤩🤩🤩 Oh my gosh you look so creepy!!!! Oh how fun! Did you get to scare the people in the train car? I hope so 😂
Also hope the fun helped distract from the pain somewhat.

Been on a break from DBD for many months and back now seeing Knight was reworked. And also seen people having diffrent opinions about if he was buffed or nerfed, what is it? This guy Wolfe on youtube are on a 227 games win streak and said Knight is S-tier just that people don't understand how to play him. Now I guess any killer could be on a high win streak in the right hands but where would you put Knight in a killer tier list? Most seem to still have him as a pretty weak killer and mid-tier at the very best?
Looking forward to try him out now and Vecna + The Dark Lord neither of these killers was in the game last time I played.
Knight feels relentless like Dracula. Very thrilling to play against.

Killers are the marketing point of DBD. So it makes sense to keep them in the power role. The game is not survivor sided, nor should it be because the horror icon should be stronger. That being said, it is still a game. And if you want people to be okay with losing a game more often than winning, it needs to be fun. And solo isn’t fun right now.
I agree with you a lot. Especially on this.
This idea is off topic and maybe you’d like to discuss but I think a dying “consolation” prize of sorts could go a long way in making dying as a Survivor more tolerable.

I wanted to start out by saying that, in the end, there are really three different versions of Dead By Daylight, there's swf DBD, there solo DBD, and there's potato DBD. And each version has its own things going on and what you can and can't get away with. And you have to learn how to identify which version you're in and alter your gameplay accordingly.
When you're starting out solo q DBD, you get the double wammie of being solo q (which is hell anyway) AND playing potato Dead By Daylight. In potato land, playing with inexperienced or bad teammates, you're absolute main goal is to get out those exit gates. Leave the endgame heroics to swfs or players who are experienced enough to loop well and do hook trades. In fact, if you see that the last gen is going to pop, go to the exit gate early, pop it when it does and leave. Don't wait for the killer to run over and don't get hooked or risk dying so you're inexperienced teammates can leave while you die.
Because, in low MMR there's no real reward for dying on hook so other people can escape. Your MMR just stays low and potato DBD continues longer than it should. The higher your MMR, the better chance you have to get better teammates. And the more opportunities you have to make more complicated plays and do more complicated things.
Also, if a teammate misses a skill check on a generator, just leave. Don't hang around to take a hook for that person. And avoid doing generators with them the rest of the match if they continually miss. Again, the MAIN goal in low MMR is getting your ass through those exit doors.
When you're just starting out, I strongly suggest using the perk technician to learn how to do skill checks without the killer whacking you every three seconds because you fail. This is so you can stay in matches longer to begin with. Again, this is a way to learn, and not a perk I would suggest to always run. I know people get mad about technician and call it a crutch perk, but if it helps you learn early in the game, it has it's value. And I don't care who wants to cry about it.
Another tip that changed my gameplay from night to day was hugging walls as Survivor. I didn’t know that it was an intentional mechanic. I thought that it was just the older game code being exploited into normal gameplay.
Hugging corners turned me from getting downed in 5-10 sec to being able to make the Killer drop chase sometimes.
The importance of hugging walls cannot be overstated.

Listen, when you have one side of the game with more people, odds are you're going to have more people who DC, kill themselves on hook and/or bodyblock and willingly throw the game. This happens at any skill level because like I said, most survivors get salty that they got slammed and decide to DC or kill themselves on hook.
And then you have the trolls. The people who don't do gens, don't heal, don't unhook teammates and of course, bodyblock and "troll" their teammates.
What I'm saying is, when you have more people on one side of a match. That side will more than likely have terrible people on it.
I've played countless survivor/killer games and have seen so many instances of survivors DC'ing after one down or just blatantly not helping their teammates and people seem to wonder why the win rate for survivors is so low. It's because of you guys.
And don't even get me started on the survivors who say, "When i see [killer], I DC" Like cmon guys, give me a break.
United the Survivors stand, divided they fall.

Between the slugging ,the tunneling, and all the other playstyles that inherently make dbd so much easier for killers, how is it that that this game is survivior sided?
Did research and
-the escape rate of iri-1 -swf-4 survivors is 48%,anything below this exponentially depletes the escape rate
-the highest survivior escape streak is around 50-60, yet killer streaks with competent people get to the 3-4 digits
-survivor “second chance” perks are conditioned whilst killers “second chance” are mostly passive and promised value
Killers will complain survivors are to oppressive with flashbang, toolboxes, exc exc but they themselves will slug, tunnel and have access to addons.
Also. I know killer and survivior have two separate win conditions, but the escape rate practically provides with us at best; surviviors can tie whilst a killer is expected to get a 2k at worst, and with some skill a 3k
Well Survivors do have the best outfits…

You know how some folks say survivors should have basekit Unbreakable or killers should have basekit old BBQ? Well, what perks do YOU think should be basekit? They can also be mechanics that do not currently exist as perks.
Personally, I vouch for basekit Corrupt Intervention and Unbreakable. I think that survivors having access to one (1) instance of self pick-up would alleviate the slugging issue a lot. Whereas some killers struggle a lot with the early game and Corrupt Intervention is a necessary staple to their builds, leaving them with a permanently occupied perk slot. BEAR IN MIND that incorporating these two perks as basekit would require other adjustments to be implemented into the game so that they are balanced.
@jmwjmw27 said:
Basekit more chests, "bleed self out" or 120s basekit unbreakable, basekit 15s corrupt for gens and totems, basekit 5s decisive strike and no collision with killer for basekit BT, basekit 10% pop and 60s block for nearest gen upon unique hook seems like a decent start
@Tostapane said:
unbreakable and ds (with increased stun and can be used 2 times) for survivors and noed (without totem) and rancor for killers… since the devs are making all the strongest killer strategies weak (and others like hit and run were nerfed so much that are almost useless) because they are unfunny for the survivors they should get some compensations at least in the end game (mind you, at this point for implementing this change you should sod off statistics, which isn't a bad thing unlike people used to think)… in that way people won't be mercilessly tunneled out of the game from the start and can play without worrying too much (and to avoid possible exploits survivors should lost their hitbox for 15 seconds once they were unhooked, in that way they can't exploit bodyblocks with something that was supposed to protect you in case of hard tunneling)
@Juicyman said:
Decisive Strike - Can now guaranteed be found in chests, the perk just lets you start the match with one, but is consumed when used and can only hold one at a time (doesn't take an item slot). Still deactivates at end game but can perhaps be given a blood point event if you've held onto it until that time.
Unbreakable - The ability to lift yourself up from the ground once is now given to you after you break a totem. Perk functionality stays the same however circumventing the need for a totem and the increased recovery speed. Tempted to say this effect should last even in end game to match the perk.
As a result the game also slows down for the Killer as both finding and opening/cleansing takes time but hopefully weens them more to play in a traditional manner since these are global factors. Shattered Hope basekit for Killer and Boons can be risk/reward since it blocks off Unbreakable meaning they can be buffed accordingly.
I agree with you all on the Unbreakable.

BamboozleRework: Everytime you hit a survivor gain a token, up to 2/3/4. The next time you vault a window, consume all tokens and block the window for 5 seconds perk token
developer notes: Bamboozle is too strong at shutting down and ending chases as well as being incredibly easy use, all this just for a single perk slot! We are buffing the duration (and adding conditions so it isn’t free), while removing the vault speed, so you have to be careful and smart with how you use your vault!

High MMR at a killer who can't compete at that level has to single-handedly be one of the most exhausting experiences in Dead by Daylight.
I've played 13 games in a row, of which 9 had map offerings used, and no joke, every single game had styptics or syringes in. Every. single. game. What makes it worse is these aren't even difficult to get in the bloodweb, at the higher levels they appear every other web.
Like, I play Wraith and even running 3 slowdowns isn't enough, when, combined, survivors are running like 10+ second chance perks on top of the styptics/syringes and map offerings.
I don't need to win to have fun, close games where either side wins are fun, but there's literally zero room for any fun when you're getting stomped.
Sure, my MMR will adjust, but then you play at a different time of day or matchmaking expands the buffer and then you win a load of games and you're back where you were before.
I'm tired, and think map offerings, styptics and syringes in particular urgently need addressing because it's getting ridiculous
Survivors that have their act together are definitely a force. It’s okay to rant. One of the best ways I’ve learned to scare Survivors better than me is to pretend I didn’t see them. Another way I try to get them off guard is to pretend that I’m going to one gen but last minute head to another gen. I’m always surprised how often I catch them out of position.
Have you played since then? How have the games been?

Yes that’s the one 😊
The speed boost feels great. Also it’s funny to see Survivors not expecting it when the chase leads to a completed gen. When the end game starts I don’t like to camp the hook or the slugs so it’s nice as an end-game mobility tool.

So I just did something recently that I regret deeply aka I just broke my tv and have to buy a new one because no idea how to fix it. I kinda realized I need to have a way to basically remain calm or at least not pull that move again. I know there's the usually oh just turn the game off or oh it's just a game but dbd just for some reasons brings out that rage in me mostly due to matchmaking and well toxicity no other game I've played does that. So I need advice on how to just keep my cool properly when playing dbd since I stopped trying to see it as a competitive game but well that competive feel just lingers in me still.
This is serious advice for anything that frustrates you in case you actually need it:
- Turn the game off
- Close your eyes and imagine a relaxing place.
- Take deep breathes, slowly in and out.
- RELEASE. Try to relax the rage/tension
- More deep breathes
- Cry if you need to
- Listen to music that lowers your defenses
- Put into perspective that it is just a game.
- Be the change you want to see.
Take care and practice. It isn’t easy but with enough practice you can deal with many frustrating things in a way that is healthy for you and for others.
Edit: I would also stay away from solutions that direct your physical urges elsewhere. I think the goal is to remove the physical urges completely during your frustration. If you act physically in anger even if you’re directing it towards a pillow, the physical act of acting out these feelings is super addictive. The goal is to remove the physical urges by never acting on them.

Congratulations and thanks for helping keep this place somewhere I enjoy spending my time 😊

So killers get big aura reading powercreep and BHVR decides to gut Distortion, now there's rampant slugging and BHVR nerfs WGLF…
They also gave killers extra anti-chest/item perks after giving survivors chest perks, and buffed chase-breaking perks the patch before Predator rework and further aura read buffs.
Anyone else get the feeling BHVR's overarching philosophy for survivor perk design right now is: 'What would work best for the killer'?
I don’t understand why slugging perks get nerfed. I guess they work best for Killer if getting kills is what you consider best.
But it’s boring. Thriving slug perks (not to mention some basekit solutions) would be so healthy for this game. Slugging is so fun when Survivors have the tools to play around it. And I’m saying this from a Killer point of view. It’s easy mode to down all four. And oh no what if a Survivor dares get the 4%!!! Yeah this a rare rant. As a Killer I relish in the hunt and the bloodlust. It’s FUN chasing Survviors around the map tearing them up. Let them escape that’s fine!! Just let them be bleeding and hobbling by the time it’s over, like they’ve gone through an ordeal. I would rather hit and run shock endlessly with dr instead of getting a cheap 4k any day 24/7. Nerfing slugging perks just doesn’t make any real sense to me. End rant.

So we know the cliches, splitting up, people running up the stairs, no signal, no gas, stuck out in the middle of know where. So how would you direct a proper movie that contains good choices and decisions? would it still be classed as a horror or slasher, what if everyone in Saw actually was smart and figured stuff out? in horror movies do they make some characters a little dumb for the effect and feel? Do you have to be a not virgin to die? I just wonder what if someone directed a good horror with good choices would it be the same? do we live frm people making bad choices?
Drag me to Hell does this well where Christine makes mostly good decisions under pressure.
I think a movie can stay horror when the main character is smart as long as the character fails a critical test(s) or if the horror is always one step ahead/smarter than the already smart character.

What is everyone expectations of what it's going to change?
His dreamworld may change somehow so that he’s finally compatible with Light’s Out if it ever comes back again.

I know that a lot of survivors, especially those in solo q, feel like giving up when they find out they're playing against Pinhead. They fear that no one will solve the box and it will be endless chain hunts all around. So, as someone who plays Pinhead often, I wanted to share some advice in how to best deal with his main slowdown feature, the box.
The problem isn't just in finding the box, but knowing the most effective time to solve it. Don't just stumble upon the box and immediately start solving it. That's a rookie mistake. It gives Pinhead an opportunity to go right to you and get a hook. Ideally, you want to find the box (which is highlighted on the map from quite a distance unless Pinhead is running the iri box add on) And you want to run around with the box in your hands until Pinhead is distracted. This would be when Pinhead is either in a prolonged chase but it is ideally be when he is walking someone to a hook. This is where it's important to understand killer logic. And how killers get locked into certain actions, such as chasing and hooking. There may be a Pinhead here or there who will leave chase or drop a person, but many will not.
The best way to play against Pinhead is to have the box as much as possible, solve it when the risk for Pinhead to teleport is at its lowest, and keep the box out of Pinhead's hands as much as humanly possible. (He can reveal your location if he solves it.)
How funny you post this as I finally reached an epiphany playing against him a couple of days ago.
After holding onto the box and the gold meter fills up, how does all of that work? It seems like chain hunt starts after a while but just for the one holding the box?
I knew about solving the box while he is in chase. It never occurred to me to solve it while he is taking someone to the hook. I love to learn so thank you for teaching me that 😊

You guys realize this perk is so we can optimize finding each other when injured and heal quickly?
This isn't a perk for. Oh, anytime you're being chased. Just come over to the gen you see me working on and screw the whole match up.
Obviously, in a swf this COULD Be used to help body blocking plays. But for the love of whatever why are you bringing the killer over to my 90% done gen at the start of a match?
I almost hope the aura doesnt show when on a gen or somethng and these people arent actually doing this on purpose.
They’re just trying to get you to empathize with the Killer chasing them that’s all.

When they say that I expected the pumpkins to give more than the 500. They give the same amount…
When depositing Void energy you get 1,250 plus 1,000 for taking the Void Crystal. I think it used to be 750 and 500 but this is from memory. The exact numbers could be wrong but it’s something like this, double if you bring an Arcane Dowsing Rod.

I am glad they increased the BP for Haunted. It felt lackluster for an event.
Me too. I was running a Void Crystal operation over here.
