  • I’ve tried it on PS4 and the wait times were way way way too long.

Bubba. But with Bunny Feng's pink hoodie. Why should she be the only one with such stylish outfits? It would look so much cuter on Bubba anyway.

I feel like I’ve seen this before… Does he have an actual bunny skin? Or maybe I’ve just seen it in memes… It sounds vaguely familiar.

  • I can understand how you feel. There are Killer ideas that I would like to see that I’m afraid might be too ambitious for the game.

Like what if we got a blob/slime Killer that was super slow, like think 2.0/3.0 m/s slow, but left a permanent trail of slime that injured you? Then when the slime catches you it’s an instant carry. The slime can go faster on its on slime trails. Add ons could adjust speed and slime interactions.

Or what if we got a Bigfoot Killer where the walls of the maps are replaced by tree walls that the Survivors can not go through but the Killer can? The Killer can go through one wall and appear on the opposite side of the map, kind of like a looped map for the Killer. That way the center of the map is technically the furthest part of the map.

My personal wish is for them to do the Devil but as a woman and with a pitchfork and everything. Her power could be something like making the whole map hotter for a period of time inflicting various debuffs map wide. Or maybe even like a 10 stage heat index that increases one stage every time a Survivor is injured.

There’s so many ideas I’d love to see.

  • This is so cool! It’ll be nice to see all the different combinations that people use.

Tbf we do need a laugh every now and then

Ironically in my matches the bots are usually better players than the person who actually dc’d hahaha

Pretty good changes, I think. Excited to try out the new Garden of Joy and Red Forest maps to see how much they're improved, for sure.

Trickster changes seem interesting. Making him 115% seems huge, that alone seems like it's going to help, let alone removing recoil entirely. Exciting stuff.

Made For This... it's not the change I wanted, but I think it's fair. It's still a very viable perk, it just requires a little bit of thought to use, as well as being useful against killers who tunnel and/or apply Deep Wound by default. I have no doubt people will stop using it entirely while claiming that BHVR have made yet another perk entirely useless, despite that not being even close to true, but that's fine. I care about what people can use, not what they are using.

I agree, it will be interesting to see Survivors play in a way that forces deep wounds.

The Trickster changes are also pretty exciting, I hope to see more of him in my matches. His chase music is so good.

Also, banners and badges?! That’s so freaking cool! Overall I’m super excited for this patch!

    Edit: Typos

It would be really useful to come to a common census on that. I also remember some teammates that after the match told me, they were just bored.

    We really need to know:

    • flap if i should come
    • flap if i should stay away

Maybe we should do a community voting or something.

    That’s a great idea!

  • They’re all so good. But there was one time I heard Renato do a scream when I hit him that was so funny I actually laughed out loud lol

  • Happy late Halloween :)

Those are nice pictures! They’re so clean! Your improvement looks great!

  • I have a couple of heartwarming/funny stories from last night playing on Halloween.

    • For the first story I wish CountoftheFog was here to read it as it was a game with 2 Nancys and 2 Steves. So it’s Halloween and I am playing Wraith with the full intention of getting jump-scares on people. The map that spawns is The Game. I patrol the upper floor generators until I find a Nancy and Steve working on a generator. I chase the Steve first and he leads me to a couple of pallets, okay no big deal. His adrenaline is pumping, I should leave him alone to cool off since he probably won’t get scared, so I go back to the Nancy. While cloaked I just stand right next to her and like a couple of seconds go by until she notices I’ve been there the whole time. The generator pops and she tries to leave but can’t because she runs right into my character. I injure her and then cloak and leave. As I go downstairs to patrol the lower level gens I get stunned out of nowhere by a pallet. It’s the same Steve from earlier. I chase him a little bit without injuring him. I break chase to continue trying to terrorize the other players. I get to the gen right by basement and noone is there. I pass by one of the basement pallets and guess what happens? I get hit again by a pallet! IT’S THE SAME STEVE! He stands there staring at me after the stun and I stare back. At this point the pieces start coming together. It’s not me terrorizing them, it’s this Steve who is terrorizing me! I went in with the intention of scaring them, and this Steve flips the script on me and is the one doing the tricks on Halloween night. I couldn’t believe how funny it was. I ended up chasing him the whole match and when I got close to hit him I would ring the bell as a substitute hit. After they open the exit gates he just stands there staring at me, no tea bags, no head nods, nothing. He just stares and turns his head in whatever direction I am in before he escapes the trial with barely any time left on the EGC timer. It was by far a 10/10 match, it was so perfect for Halloween.

    • The second match was more heartwarming. I was playing Wraith again and using the cat costume. My intention was to act like a giant cat who clings to the first Survivor I see and injure any other Survivors. I spawn into Dead Dog Saloon and immediately start looking for Survivors. The first Survivor I see is a Leon. He thinks I’m trying to kill him (and who could blame him with this giant cat chasing him) but as soon as I get close to hitting him I instead just stay as close as possible like I am physically clinging on. He catches on after a couple of pallets and windows and goes to the saloon. While there he immediately starts roleplaying bartender, jumping off the stairs and landing onto the bar top and tables etc. At this point other Survivors catch on and like the possessive cat that I was playing as, I hit any Survivor that isn’t him. I don’t put them into dying, just injury since they are cat scratches. Every time they heal each other I go and injure them. It seems they understand what is going on, that Leon is the “privileged” one lol. He goes to the piano and starts acting like he is playing the scales, I go next to him and use my bell in a rhythm, two single hits, then a double, over and over. I also make it look like I am playing the scales up and down the piano keys. Finally when the other Survivors get bored and escape I am there with the Leon in the exit gates and he is telling me to come with him. I hit the exit area to show that I can’t. I make my character cling to his and at this point omg lmao he stands still and looks deep into Cat Wraith’s eyes. He does this for literally like 5 seconds. Then as the EGC is 3/4 finished he takes us both back to the Saloon piano to play one last song LMAO!!!! He allows the EGC to kill him and I start violently shaking my character’s head back forth next to his being murdered body. Omg that was one of the funniest games I’ve had in a long time. And it fits with the Halloween theme too since technically a tragedy occurred LOL. The tragic story of a Cat Wraith and their Human lmao.

Did you really need to remind me of that? The horrors of DH hit validation are still fresh in my memories.

I think we all have a type of collective trauma with old DH lol. I can remember how crazy it was to be locked into missing a hit.

I got to do something this year that I've legit wanted to do since... basically forever. I love Halloween. It's my number one with a bullet holiday for me as I love dressing up in costume.

I joined a "professional" haunted house

Double edged sword, I was the puppeteer behind their big ass snake. I'd have liked to dress up more and be on the floor as an actor more but it's also a great feeling when the manager tells you that a lot of people's favorite part was the cool "animatronic" snake that scared the piss out of them :D

I fully intend to do it again next year

🤯🤯🤯 That’s so cool!!! Wow congrats! Hahaha oh my gosh it must have been so fun scaring people. Wow what an awesome thing to share :)

  • @Akumakaji said:

Awww. Yeah, in the spur of the moment we sometimes forget that we are all players and just see the others role or function, but it's nice that we still can sometimes connect.

When I started out, I had a very rough game on one of the swamp maps and got zero hooks. Eventually I got a single hook, while the last gen was slammed out. And in this instance I just lost my killer Instinct. I could fight tooth and nail for this one single kill, but would probably lose it due to swarming the hook and just nodded to everyone, stepped aside and let them unhook that Feng, while I opened the gates.

The swarm of survivors parted and Jeff, with his long, flowing hair and long coat, stepped up to me, nodded and sat down under a hook, sacrificing himself for me. I was in tears at this gesture.

Another time I had a tough, but manageable game at the groaning storehouse, but here was this extremely good, pink Bunny-Feng that foiled my plans and escaped me time and time again. When turning a corner in a jungle gym, I saw here standing there, lunged, realised that she was communing with a Glyph and looked away in the very last second.

Feng looked at me and we kinda stared at each other for like 10s, then I smacked her and the spell was broken a I chased and finally downed her. But during that trial we would not cross weapons again, but just nid and wave at each other. Eventually all her mates were on hook and we watched the last one struggle for a couple of seconds together, before looking for hatch, exchanging our last pleasantries and parting ways forever.

And then I got a Pig match this week. I had a couple really rough matches where I suffered a lot of abuse by the survivors. I found the whole bunch, obvious a SWF and surprised them, but they all expertly eluded me with perfect use of SB and this instantly kinda broke me and I was done for this match, not being ready to deal with such players for a full match. Somehow they understood and 20s later four survivors were surrounding my hiding spot where I had retracted to wallow in self pity and they all popped my snout. Afterwards we memed around and frolicked on the desolate auto haven, filling it with laughter and joy, 8 hooks and countless smashed pallets and cute Miss Piggy 🐷 gasps.

In the postgame chat they were like "rough couple of games?" and it was all so wholesome.

EDIT: and one last heartwarming story: I once played Basement Chest defender Insidious Bubba. The survivors did their gens, someone opened the gates and one cheeky Leon came down for some last minute looting. I shook my head, he insisted, touched my chest and went down and on the hook. His duo-SWF Jill mate tried to save him, I shook my head, she insisted and went on the hook, too.

One of the survivors just left, the last one (I think it was a Nancy) came down, pointed at the two, I shook my head, she pointed at my chest, I shook my head. She nodded and walked beside me and together we watched the two fools die. Afterwards I escorted her to the gates, she waved and we parted ways.

🥹 Lol oh my gosh. These stories! They’re so heartwarming lol

I just wanna know, do you all realize that flapping your arms like that speeds up your hook timer and puts you into second state faster?

  • It’s stories like this that I love so much. You’re right, it’s a game where we pretend to kill other people; and despite that there is still this sense of fairness/honor code.

This was really really nice to read. Thank you ☺️

Oh a positivity thread? That’s rare here. I like.

gotta point out BHVR as a company at this present time. While sure, they have the priorities not well set imo, the company per se seems to be a very good employer, especially with the gaming industry going through some tough times with layoffs BHvR is not one of those. They have presumably very good working conditions, work-life-balance, etc.

I wish the games direction was more dev-driven than management/sales-drive (at least it seems like it at times). But yeah. Overall, it seems very good.

Absolutely. Of course despite nothing truly being perfect it really does feel that the company is in a good place right now. It’s thoughtful that you think about the people who make this game for all of us to enjoy.

  • @The_Daydreamer said:

I simply enjoy Dead By Daylight for all it's additions and healthy balance changes, but as someone who started playing 2016, earning Legacy and all that stuff - there is something nostalgic about old Dead by Daylight, a feeling no game every gave me and I will love it for ever. Lowkey gave me one of the greatest times in my Life. And I will die on that hill but old DbD looked lowkey better lol

Here are some videos for people who are confused and want to see old DbD:

Bugs and Glitches, Old Nurse, Old Billy, Old Wraith, Infinite, 72Hrs Moonwalk, Old Survivor Gameplay and even more Gameplay!

I remember how scary the game felt with the older graphics. There was always this bleak feeling of despair. The Killers looked especially terrifying in the lighting. Don’t get me wrong I totally love the current color shades because I am a slave for beautiful color schemes, but I definitely get where you are coming from.

Nice avatar btw. I just watched the original 1998 Ring last night. Poor little Yoichi!

  • I love both of them as Survivor and Killer.

  • I’m not sure if I am remembering things correctly but when Ghost Face came out you were able to see where a Survivor was looking when they were on the generators. I think Survivor head movements were also more pronounced when crouched? Anyways I thought it was a neat feature. I do miss it.

PS: I remember the DH and DS days… lol

Even against a 4 man with flashlights, I am a master of Lookatawalljutsu and Lookawaykwondo

Being a master at both of these techniques have made my eyes safe from any danger from a mere torch.

That’s funny. It always makes me laugh when I see Killers look away super quickly lol.

Speaking of keeping eyes safe… Since I sit so close to the TV when I play, whenever Survivors blind me with a flashlight it sometimes is actually too bright for my actual eyes and I as the player get slightly stunned lmao

  • @ohheyitsbobcat said:

I use lightborn with 4 flashlights as well but otherwise I'll use Franklins. No feeling quite like seeing a white ward when running Franklins.

I’ve been thinking about playing as the “Flashlight Confiscator”. Only running Franklin’s and only hitting Survivors when they have flashlights 😂

Oh wow for reals? How cool! Thanks for the content! 😊

THIS is so annoying. I will no longer unhook until you stop. I am an Altruistic 'we'll make it' user but I am done with this crap.

I have Kindred on, I see you and the killer. I will decide when it is safe to save you and by the way, if you're waving your arms when you see me Sprinting to save you, I'm turning around.

There is a unhook delay for your rescuer when you do that animation so knock it off or die in 1st hook.

And the annoying "uh uh uh uh uh" sounds you make, especially Rebecca, are enough to send ya, they really are.

    That is all.

Okay Count I hear you… but what if it’s a Nancy or Steve waving their arms???

  • @Nazzzak said:

I love when I'm on a gen/cleansing a totem/whatever, and another survivor runs past and 'smacks' my behind and then runs off. It usually happens when I'm playing Thalita 🤣 it makes me laugh. I love tbag greetings. I love when the killer is good at pressure and I can't get anything done, so I point at them to go away and they do so lmao

Lmao! I’ve never heard of that! Pointing the Killer away and they listen! Lol that’s hilarious.

  • @CrypticGirl said:

I've had some wholesome moments, but one in particular is on my mind right now...

I was Rebecca going against Nemesis in RPD. The match went normally until two teammates were dead. Nemesis found me and I dropped down a hole, ran and vaulted through a window. I turned around to see Nemesis just standing there staring from afar and then he left.

I worked on the last gen while Nemesis would occasionally come in, kick it, and leave again. He knew I was there, too, but kept leaving me. Finally he found the other teammate and killed her as I finished the last gen. Nemesis continued to stare at me from afar. Then he took out the zombies that were getting in my way and then opened the gate, even leaving the gate so I could leave. Of all the people to spare, spare the S.T.A.R.S. member, I thought. I've been shipping Rebecca and Nemesis ever since, writing fanfics about them and everything. XD

And interestingly, this match happened one year ago today. XD

Gosh, I live for those games. Thank you so much for sharing!

  • @gnehehe said:

That kind of thread will not be tolerated 🤓

    🤪😄😎

  • @Xernoton said:

For me it's the all the different characters in one game. Where else will you see Laurie Strode, Ada Wong, Ash Williams and Nicholas Cage teaming up against Freddy Krueger, Nemesis, Leatherface, Pyramid Head or Xenomorph? Where else will you see some random guy in a white shirt come out of a locker to teabag Amanda Young? Where else will you see Ghostface chasing a random girl in a pink bunny sweater through Haddonfield and teabag her after slashing his knife across her back before taking a selfy with her, where some random dude shows up to pop his butt into the picture? That is all real. These are all things that happen in this "horror" game. 😂

Also, I like all the little things you can do in this game to throw off your opponent. Pretend to go left, then go right, turn 360°, teabag and DH before dropping a pallet. I'm pretty sure there is no other game where this is considered crazy good gameplay. 😄 Killers have their own equivalents.

Some of DBD's older realms have a distinct feeling to them. As much as I dislike some of the McMillans gameplaywise, I cannot deny that they do have a special kind of feeling to them. Same for the Azarov's maps. Even after their reworks they kept some of their original flair. Sadly, this is getting more and more rare as BHVR rework maps. The new maps all look kind of generic to me. Like they could be in any other game and I wouldn't notice, that they should be in DBD.

The community despite all its downs is also pretty cool. So many passionate people about a game that we all love and hate at the same time. But there are also many good things that come out of this community. Like Burger King Myers, Shirtless Myers, Locker Dwight (god, they are cute), Bunny Feng and the other many, many, many memes. Even the discussions on this forum, which for the most part are very reasonable.

I also love these games, when both sides are about even in terms of skill and loadout and can all agree on a good match. Sometimes I'll have the most wholesome post game interactions with a bit of genuine advice here and there as well as some nice words after a tough game. I try to spread that same kind of positivity but of course it won't always work or be understood in the way I meant it. All the better when it does.

I can tell you truly do love this game 😊

  • @Vanishlord said:

I love how altrusitic my SoloQ teamates have been recently how they always try to save everyone, take protection hits particularly since I've been going up against a lot of tunneling killers recently.

I used to be the Survivor that would escape and leave my teammates behind lol. But you’re right, teammates are super altruistic. It’s inspirational really because it makes me want to help them survive no matter what now.

  • @NewPlayer100102 said:

I like when a survivor has a practiced way to evade a killer's ability.

I always want the game to last forever, with just that repeated exchange, whatever it might be at whatever object the survivor is using.

It becomes like an enjoyable obsession that lasts until the match ends. I don't care about the outcome of the match, just that one player and the geometry they are using.

That's unique to this game and appreciated.

Here is the story of the cutest and most heroic Leon I ever met:

So I start my first chase on Erye when I spot him standing in the middle of the main road at the farther end. True P0 rookie. He's staring at me like he was in Western duel. I'm curious what he wants, so I drop my chase and start walking straight towards him.

He's not budging, but immediately drops the flashbang at his feet. It blows up out of range (I never even knew it had a range). Leon doesn't falter - he whips out the flashlight, aiming at me menacingly. Naturally I turn away without slowing down and get my hit.

Of course he survived the trial. He even got a flashlight save later - I only had to strafe a bit to correct his aim. :]

This is perfect. Wow, amazing. 😊😊😊

I love that it's two games in one, each with dozens of different combinations and ways that you can play. It's also kind of insane how many horror legends have been added to the game over time. It's truly become a "museum of horror".

I do miss the feeling of fear that I used to get when I first started playing, though. They've faded for me now unfortunately, but while they lasted they were a better adrenaline rush than watching any horror movie.

Thankfully, It will never stop being fun to run at Survivors with a chainsaw as Bubba, or give players a fright with a well executed Michael Myers jump scare.

We’re kindred spirits. I feel the exact same way. And Bubba still honestly scares the crap out of me as Survivor!

Only reason i even bother still coming back here is mostly checking for dev replies.

I love when survivors or killers are playful without taunting, I don't mind taunting at all but it always makes me smile to nod at eachother above windows, have survivors come bring me gifts or stop the chase to pet Maurice or show me something.

I remember having lots of fun with a Wesker after I disappeared using plot twist behind a window while staring straight at him.

The event is really great for fun stuff like that, I went against 4 Feng Mins yesterday and it was one of the best game I had in a long time, we played normally (borderline sweaty) but everytime the void opened we went in it and fooled around until it closed.

I couldn’t agree more. Those are my favorite interactions. One time I was playing Trapper on Haddonfield and a Survivor and I started playing house in one of the houses lmao. I would go to the kitchen and start hitting the oven with his weapon and they would go and pretend to turn the knobs and cook lol. The shenanigans went on all around the level.

Thank you for bringing up your examples. They reminded me of really nice memories.
