I think they need adjustements because the Ebony Mori while juicy only gives you points if you get a 4K which is not always possible, I believe the new Moris should behave like perks.
- Cypress remains as it is (rank1).
- Ivory is Cypress + 3Kill bonus (rank2).
- Ebony is Ivory+Cypress+ 4Kill bonus (rank3).
This way if you get a 2K with an Ebony you get the 8000 (Cypress), if you get 3K you get 12000 (Ivory) return and 4K nets you the 20000 extra BPs. This way if you underperform for wathever reasons you dont waste the Ebony.

True, but twins are really well known for it because it takes like five seconds to respwan Victor basically rendering kicking Victor next to Charlotte, completely useless because she can literally just sent them back out again unlike someone like oni once he cancels his power, he hast to gather blood again, which can take some time, depending how much of his powerswas used
True, but if I have to pin this change on a Killer I would go with Starstruck + Infectious + Agitation Nurses/Blights, those are very common and play mostly by going for mass slugs, with these changes they have 45 seconds from the first down to get everyone or people will start getting up.
Altough I dont think they had a single Killer or situation in mind with this change but a lot of factors, Twins, Nurses/Blights, people slugging the last Survivor, the dullness of being slugged for extended periods of time etc, everything adds and they came up with these change to mitigate everything.
-
They didnt exactly remove the Mori from Devour, if you hook someone at 5 tokens they get sacrificed instantly which has pretty much the same effect as using a Mori (getting rid of someone bypassing hook states).
-
Twins are not the only ones slugging like crazy plus they have like a 1% pick rate.
-
Its not up to BHVR, its up to the license holders and hearsay says Freddy license holders are the hardest and most unreasonable to deal with which I believe its true seeing they had problems releasing the whole chapter on Nintendo Switch and lack of any extra content unlike any other license.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3195859#Comment_3195859
Cheaters are a problem, yes, but he is still able to stream and DCing wont hurt, we all do it. He still can get money easily from it without much effort, even playing as survivor he still is doing well, he dont need to perform on killer games every time to be paid, Brad pitt is performing every time, his case is actually bad if happens.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3195867#Comment_3195867
I bet you would love to be in his place and would not complain. His problem is so bad that now today he was upset that the killer was camping and that a killer hit him on hook, he spend then some time talking about killers who camp, so the DDOS is such a big problem that he spends most of his time whining about camping, okay. He is doing perfectly well.
He is not able to deliver the content he wants to his costumers tho. A baker can still make bread even if someone enters the bakery and sets the oven at twice the temperature albeit it will be burnt overbaked bread, the costumers may buy it or they may go to another bakery to get the bread they want, and yes, there is a public for streamers getting angry and raging at cheaters/losing his angry reactions are not really that funny (unlike others who are comedy gold), I dont think he can make a fandom out of his frustration.
I bet you would love to be in his place and would not complain
I can guarantee you I wouldnt love to be a streamer and have to entertain a bunch of people, streamers not only play the game, they also entertain their public, talk with them, engage with them, having to "Hey randomperson thanks for your X subs, have a good day" every 2 minutes, having to think every single word you say so absolutely nobody gets ofended and you get canceled, etc. Not everyone wants to make a job out of their hobby.
And for the record, I dont really like the "streamer" profesion for a bunch of reasons I wont cite since the thread isnt about it so Im not defending them because I feel sympathy, but he has valid complains and they are messing with their source of income.

@INoLuv said:
He is rich through his streams, he dont deserve to complain when it is literally his job and a easy one compared to many other jobs. Stream sniping is bad, yes, but he gets money from it so no need to be sore, hacks are annoying and should be banned but he is paid to endure that, DBD gave him A LOT of money through views, donations and increase in popularity. He is using vpn, good, DDOS is awful, but he surely wont quit of course, why would he? Either way there is no need to feel bad for him, yes the issues are glaring, cheaters, sniping and DDOS attacks are bad especially DDOS, but gaining THAT MUCH MONEY he gets from it i would not complain at all.
He is rich through his streams, he dont deserve to complain when it is literally his job
You are making it worse, since streaming is his source of income and they are not letting him earn a living. Anyone who gets to his workplace and finds someone not letting them perform it would call the cops and they would deal with the situation but alas, the cops in this case are using an anticheat that doesnt work instead of handcuffs and nighsticks...

As someone who's gotten fed up with the cheater paranoia, I will say it's not completely Otz's fault.
For starters, he has started encountering cheaters way more than he used to, especially since anonymous mode was added. Not only that but he actually had a stream or two where a specific cheater was going out of their way to target him but they were doing it in a subtle way until the end
Another thing is his chat. His chat makes the issue 10x worse because even if Otz goes like "huh that was odd" his chat is there spamming stuff like "lol obvious auto DH" "obvious cheater lol" and it just creates a really bad environment. I don't blame him for being a bit paranoid about it but when you're a big streamer it goes from "huh that was weird" to walls of messages saying "lol that's not legit"
@Crowman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3195681#Comment_3195681
On the last bit, that's an issue with any large streamer.
I faced a big streamer a while back and their chat was so insisted that I was cheating because I was able to sneak away injured without Iron Will largely due to Shadow Step.
Yeah most streamer chats are echo-chambers, Ive been accused like five times of subtle cheating as Myers by increasing my speed, it always goes as this "Uh this Myers looks fast" then the chat starts "he is cheating, either PWYF or he is cheating" and then "lol obvious subtle cheater", if they bring the accusation in post game chat I try to reason with them due to Myers animations he seems slower than he really is, even if the streamer ends up convinced the chat still spams "cheater, cheater, cheater".
Being sorrounded by people bombarding you with the same ideas over and over cant be good for your own perception of the world, happens a lot in real world, sometimes Something™ gets blown out of proportion by the press and suddenly everyone is afraid of Something™, even when the cops go out and say there was only one case in the last year people are still super scared of being victims of Something™.

Its fixing the equivalent of gens not a single gen on itself.
You can fix one gen to 99%, then the Killer comes, kicks it, regresses to 0%, you fix it to 99% again and you will have progressed the challenge by almost 2 gens because you fixed the equivalent of almost 2 gens.
EDIT: My bad, I read the challenge the wrong way, what I wrote doesnt apply to it, yes its weird it counts the gens powered when the gates get powered.

Honestly dont know why he didnt sooner. Different stroke for different folks i guess. Inevitably we all need a change of scenary. Farmet john did the same and he was much better for it.
Changing game as streamer is dangerous if being a streamer is your main/only source of income, some people manage to make the switch and maintain the same or even bigger fanbase but others lose way too many spectators/revenue and are forced to go back or quit streaming altogether and find a job, I can understand why some of them force themselves to stream stuff they no longer enjoy, its like going to work a place you no longer enjoy but since it pays the bills you swallow it up and keep going in.

They need to just wall off Epic Games from the rest of the player pool. The cheater wave started after the game was given away for free on Epic, so these guys made account after account to cheat with. They need to recognize the mistake and correct it. Make console only crossplay while you're at it
Not a bad solution but I doubt it will ever happen, Im not sure 100% how EPIC games works exactly but as far as I know every free game they give away the creator receives money from EPIC like if it was a sale, even if they never launch the game, so making it less appealing will make less people getting it and thus less free money for BHVR in future giveaways. Funny side effect of a marketing campaign.

But you're not listening to the same song on repeat. You're not reading the same book. You're not cooking the same thing(not to mention you sort of need to. To literally live)
Your brother enjoys chess after 35 years. But is he in love with it. The same way he was when he started ? Maybe ? But that's a rarity. Living species(not just humans) are literally designed to get bored of the same things. Otherwise we would never have that feeling.
You dont play the same Killer, same perks, same maps, same powers and against the same people either. My brother enjoys chess the same as he did 35 years ago. Its not a rarity for people to enjoy their hobbies for their entire life, my grandfather made puzzles for 60 years. I listen to the same groups every single week and those are not new songs since most of them are not active anymore.
P.D. you need to eat to live, not to cook and there is a difference between cooking something easy and fast like steak and making complex dishes, people who love to cook tend to make elaborated stuff, people who dont love it just cook wathever takes the less amount of time.

Okay but why does the incentive pop up for all Killers on the menu?
It can't be taking my MMR into account there, right?
The only reason I see for incentives applying to MMR is because some bracket may lack Killers, for example 150-200 MMR bracket, and it happens you have 1 Killer in that bracket and they want to entice you to play it to help with the queues, so you get incentive on one Killer and not the rest.
That being said I dont think it works as intended or the MMR brackets are so big it just engulfs all Killers alltogether.

Name literally anything you've ever done. Where after 8k + hours....You're still having the same amount of fun as the beggining stages that hooked you to begin with....?
One thing I notice about otz, and other streamers I seen who took a break at some point or another. They are people who refuse to adapt and just play what they need to. To have fun in this game.
Do I want to stack slowdown to match what DBD requires currently ? Not really, but it's mostly required against people who arnt total bots. It helps the game be much more enjoyable, and gives me a kill rate I'm good with.
Cooking, reading and listening to music.
My brother still plays chess almost every day and has been doing it for like 35 years, Im sure he has more than 8000 hours in chess.
-
@Bran said:
If a loyal player takes a break, then it probably shows there are issues. I may not agree with everything Otz says, but hey...we all have our limits I suppose.
While one streamer taking a break is not that serious (no0b3 for example quitted like 1 or 2 years ago and nothing happened) if you pair it with plenty "I dont have as much fun as I did" threads and the fact nobody can exactly pinpoint whats wrong with the game paints a big problem because it looks like there are a lot of small/medium problems piling up instead of a huge one like a gamebreaking bug or perk like first iteration MoM/Undying (which could be solved with a massive nerf or killswitch, unlike a pile of small stuff which is much much harder to identify and fix).
-
Not a bad idea, the change isnt really anything powerful and while most players will have no trouble finding a locker once they have spend some hours it can help newcomers a bit.

How about if someone DC during the first minute, gens required are adjusted accordingly (perhaps 1 gen per DC) ?
Doesnt work, years ago if a Survivor DCd while loading in the game instead of canceling the match it would start with only 3 but they would have to fix 4 gens to power the gates instead of 5.
Didnt matter, those games where almost universally unwinnable for the Survivors, people usually just DCd right off the bat (there were no DCs penalties back then), went AFK or alerted the Killer to get hooked asap.

But he is actually right.
-
The incentives are related to the queue times, the longer the queues the higher the bonus up to a 100% max. MMR shouldnt affect it in any way. If Killers have a long queue because there arent enough Survivors to fill the lobbies then the bonus point will start appearing for Survivors to entice players to switch role so Killer queues get shorter and vice versa.
That being said, I wouldnt be surprised the bonus bugs sometimes and still apllies even when the queues timers shouldnt allow it.

The status effect is newest and preventing survivors from doing nearly all actions is really strong that it shouldn't be a widely available status effect. If anything Eruption applying a 25 second incapacitated is too much.
Its insane, you get 4 prompts of Eruption in a single game, which isnt hard to achieve really, and you gained 100 seconds of someone not working on gens which amounts to more than 1 gen worth of progress, add to that every time it activates you regress any generator kicked by 10%, even if those 4 prompts only affected 1 gen it would be a 40% regression, adding 45 extra seconds of gen fixing over.
I believe Incapacitated should just add a big gen fixing penalty and thats it, either that or Eruption needs to get tweaked.

It's very unfun on the survivor side. But so are all the other negative status effects.
You would repair generators with a gremlin attached to your back?
🤣
Problem with this status is it doesnt let you do anything at all, you cant repair, heal, open chests, nothing except opening the Exit Gates, being hit by Huntress, Victor or Pinhead chains is not as bad because it means you are being chased and you wouldnt be able to do anything anyway or are easy to void by performing a fast action like getting rid of Victor or breaking the chains.
On Eruption is a whole different thing because you get hit by it and you are left 25 seconds without doing anything at all without being chased by the Killer, you may aswell go to a locker get inside and wait for it to go away, pair it with several prompts in the span of a trial and the time people are sitting there doing nothing mounts and becomes dull, after all people want to play a game not sit there waiting for some dumb status to go away so they can resume gameplay.

Trust me.....You still get hate no matter what. Hell a lot of the times it's from assumptions and misunderstanding alone.
I was told I camped from the first hook...Just because they could hear my terror radius on dead dawg....? I hooked them at the corner of main...Seen someone at gallows...They ran to main. I proceeded to chase them, and not even bother the unhook or heal...Which I should have. But I was camping....And got bitched at after
I already said you can still get hate from time to time while playing nice as both sides, my main point is people complaining they get a ton of heat on post chat as wathever side they play its because they are actively earning it, consciusly or not.
-
@EvilSerje said:
Interesting thing is that I met toxic survivors 5-10 times in all my DbD life, although I saw a lot of "bully" squads. Maybe it somehow connected to my server, or because I don't camp, or some other reason. But it's either gg, or love letters if I let someone go.
But as survivor there are plenty of toxic killers, every 3rd or 4th will be angry kid. Thats my experience.
As Killer if you dont camp and tunnel is rare to get hate, I dont play like that and I almost never get hate on postchat, same as Survivors, if you dont tbag or try to the be obnoxious Killers rarely will diss you on chat either.
I honestly believe people who get that much hate is because they do something to earn it, its like the "I got a 48H DC penalty and I ragequitted only once! I swear!!" threads you see from time to time here, like inmates being there because their lawyer messed up or they are victims of a huge legal mistake.

Some insight there: All Killers are within at 12% range when it comes to kill rates (the lowest being Nurse, as it tradition, so another point to "don't draw conclusions from these stats alone"). As for the escape rates of SWF groups, last I've checked, they are within +/- 15% of the average, and that's in the absolute most extreme cases - e.g. the high end of the rating spectrum, which itself is comprised of very few people. In most cases, the difference in escape rate for groups is within a few percent.
My numbers were gross exaggerations because its much easier to do the math with them and just used to show percentiles are not trusthworthy as they are easy to skew. But a -8% deviance rate on a Survivor means he is getting out only 31 out of 100 matches which is abysmal, Im willing to bet negative survival deviances are mostly skewed towards Solos mainly because Solo queue is the one getting the short end of the stick lately.
-8 deviance isnt that extreme either, it sits roughly at middle of the spectrum.
-
Either cheating or the Survivor ended up bugged on the Exit Gates after a clipping bug, which can happen but its super rare. Odds are it was a cheater.
@kizuati said:
I've loaded into several matches in a row with cheaters who insta did 5 gens and left. I am tempted to try and fish for them, while running Corrupt Dead Lock And No Way Out just to mess with them. I really want to see their faces when all the gens get blocked and they cant do them KEKW.
Cheaters have absolute control of the match, they can activate/deactivate perks, open the Exit Gates without even fixing a gen, make Jigsaw traps last 1 second, make gens go slow they cant ever be finished etc, I dont think you can stop them from doing wathever they want by any non cheating means.
One advice, if you find cheaters ignore them and dont react, best case scenario they escape/kill everyone in the first 30 seconds, worst case scenario they notice you are getting frustrated because of their antics and hold you hostage for wathever time they want, is better to just let em go.
-
@Brokenbones said:
Personally I wonder what the escape rate would look like if all SWF matches with 3/4 mans were seperated
I wonder if there would be a big disparity there or if we would see that SWF doesn't create a huge disparity as people claim it does (Personally I think the difference would be at least 10%, maybe more)
Bad thing about percentiles is if I eat two steaks and you eat none we both eat one steak each.
Some Killers could be sitting at a comfortable 80% killrate while others having only 40%, SWF could be having a 70% escape rate and Solo a 10% and it would still be a 60/40 kill/escape rate but in reality a group of people are getting the short end of the stick while others are enjoying the ride of their lives.

The perks may change names and how they work but the function is the same, Eruption and Overcharge are stalling/regression perks same as Ruin and PTGW which were the meta before the supposed shake up.

Whataboutism is also raising a different issue, which is exactly what you're doing. It's so cringe; this is how every forum post goes, and people wonder why it takes forever for anything to get done around here.
You continue to disregard the argument I'm trying to make. So much so, that I've needed to clarify what I'm talking about (despite it being quite clear) multiple times now.
Instead of addressing the points I've brought forth, you cherry picked half of my statement and pivoted to another theoretical, then rounded out your response with "suck it up."
---
None of what you've said has been constructive, while I'm raising a real issue here.
---
I'll say it for the nth time. Maybe you'll finally to respond to it, maybe you'll ignore it again, or maybe you'll decide to walk away.
Survivors are designed to work together. BY DESIGN, they cannot all survive without working as a team. They are NOT DESIGNED to FFA, therefore the FFA incentives in this game are unhealthy. BHVR is trying to have it both ways here, and their indifference towards this issue creates a ton of animosity between survivors.
What are you on about? Your main argument is that being left on hook by someone sucks, especially if that person gets rewarded with hatch which is true. My argument is "that game was doomed, there was no point in rescuing you and dragging it" which also holds true. I didnt raise a different issue, Im just telling you why what Dwight did is justified.
Also
Survivors are designed to work together
They are also designed to ditch each other if the need arises, this is taken LITERALLY from DBD Steam store page.

Between the devs not playing their own game and no one thinking that Blast Mine was bugged, it's very easy for Blast Mine's bug to be swept under the radar until the devs looked at the code to introduce a new perk.
Surveillance was bugged in a way that made it more useful thus no one complained about it so the devs likely weren't aware of it for the longest time.
I believe they were aware of Surveillance because it was talked on the forum when it released (not sure but I believe even someone from the team acknowledge the bug) I think they just gave the bug 0 priority since it wasnt THAT broken.
The whole Blast Mine I think the code was there but it didnt work and whoever coded the perk either doesnt work on DBD anymore, didnt care or didnt use the perk more than a few times and didnt realize but once someone looked at it realized "hey this perk isnt doing what the code tells it should be doing".
-
It sucks because Hag is one of the strongest proxy campers in the whole game and thats what most Hags do, hook someone, lay a minefield around the hook and wait until someone triggers one and while there is some counterplay by crouching its not really counterplay because either you run and activate a trap or you crouch and she arrives before you get out of the minefield after an unhook.
I honestly believe Hag should be one of the few Killers to not be able to use her power at least 16 meters of a hooked Survivor.

Stop whataboutism'ing me. We're not talking about 1 or 2 gens left. We're talking about the fact that survivors can deliberately sabotage their teammate's game, from the outset, with zero repurcussions to their behavior.
Keep up, please.
The "every man for themself" element of DBD is bad for the game. Period.
DBD is not a FFA. It is a team game for survivors, and BHVR needs to get in that lane.
Whataboutism is when someone exposes an argument and someone else retorts with "yeah sure, but what about this different thing?", biggest example on this forum is "X is busted" "yeah sure, but Y is busted too".
You are complaining someone got rewarded for letting you die on hook and some of us are arguing back its normal when the game is in an unwinnable situation, some people value getting out of unwinnable games sooner than fighting to the bitter end, that Dwight was the first kind of player and you were on the receving end, thats all there is too this thread.

So he was doing something then. It just wasn't helpful to anyone. He played poorly, I do not disagree, especially since even with a hatch escape giving 7000 bp for escape and 2500 for hatch, you still outscored him. But 1) there is a challenge that requires escaping through hatch right now, and 2) he is not under any obligation to save anyone. Welcome to playing games with random people on the internet. Be glad he wasn't just following you around, blowing up every gen you worked on and body blocking you at pallets and windows to get you killed. Trust me when I tell you I've had far worse teammates.

You're completely missing the point here.
@pseudechis your "it's just part of the game" attitude completely disregards my message. It shouldn't be part of the game. That is the point.
Survivors cannot win a 3v1 against an adequately matched killer. I assume you accept that as fact, because you support the Dwight for declaring our 3v1 to be a "hatch game," even though you have no information about how far into the match we were, and how much gen progress was made on any other generator (for all you know, we could have had 3+ gens over 50% progress, but only 1 complete).
Any one survivor can enter the trial deciding not to advance the objective, and play solely for hatch (as it appears this Dwight did). This strategy has been made even more viable in recent patches, with perks like Sole Survivor, Wake Up, Low Profile, Left Behind, and a key in-hand.
The two above sentences;
Survivors cannot win a 3v1 against an adequately matched killer.
and
Any one survivor can enter the trial deciding not to advance the objective, and play solely for hatch
are glaring design issues.
If survivors cannot win a 3v1 against an adequately matched killer, than the game should NEVER motivate any one survivor to do anything but help their team.
Survivors cannot win a 3v1 against an adequately matched killer
You are leaving out important information, Survivors cannot win a 3vs1 against an adequately matched killer WHEN there are 4 gens left. Survivors can win 3vs1 with 1 or 2 gens left, its quite common actually.
And to be honest, Survivors can win 3vs1 against 4 gens too but is rare, so rare its not worth trying, there is a point where the match is so heavily skewed towards one side is not worth keep trying, especially when you dont have queues, just get it over fast and jump onto the next.
Being able to count your loses and calling quits then restart again before wasting more time is a part of playing games, not everything has to be a fight to the last drop of blood.

Guys, I understand the Dwight's line of thinking.
Dude is equipped to save his own hide--I see why this was a no-brainer for him. It's not what I would do 99.9% percent of the time, but I get it.
That said...
This post ain't about whether or not Dwight made the right play.
This post is about the impact Dwight's decision had on other players' experience, and the fact that his decision was well rewarded, despite the negative impact it had on others.
@pseudechis I'm not here to dictate how people should be playing the game. Dwight should be able to maintain his agency. If he wants to leave my ass on hook, so be it. My quarrel is with this gameplay being rewarded.
As @TragicSolitude noted, BHVR is trying to have their cake and eat it to. This "we're teammates, but oh... I'm going to abandon you at the moment its most convenient for me," gameplay is problematic for the game's health. The whole game becomes a giant prisoner's dilemma, unless the killer is extremely incompetent.
And I understand your line of thinking, the guy was egotistical it that affected your survival options and he got rewarded for his egoism but the truth is, the game was already over and it was either rescuing you and then someone dying after god knows how many minutes or just let you die and go for hatch, that match was going to end with 1 person looking for hatch anyway, may aswell make it faster and you just happened to be caught instead of him.
From my point of view he made you a favor by letting you go sooner so you could hop in a new match.

Why would you use No Mither as chase practice when not using it gives you longer chases which means more time practicing? Makes no sense its like saying "to train your aim shot only 5 times instead of 10 times".

I usually make sure they are the first to go, depending on how the game went and the extent of the Survivor sabotage I may resume normal gameplay or let the others escape.

4 gens left and 2 alive? Yeah I wouldnt unhook as Dwight and I wouldnt struggle on hook as you either, its over the Killer won, no reason to keep slowing the inevitable.

So does the killer buff fall along the idea that they don't understand the game or?
I know, I was showing support to your argument and expanding on it.

That implies they ever did?
🤣
I do believe they had a better grasp of the game at least 1 year ago and before, its true they usually made very controversial changes the community hated BUT they were usually good in the long term.
For example changing Hex:Ruin from the old red skillcheck system to the autoregression system and changing 95% wiggle DS to the "out of hook" version. Each side hated those when they first read them on the patch notes but they proved to make the game better, now the changes dont make any sense at all, they seem out of touch and random.

I'm considering Calm Spirit to be nerfed. Technically the buff did do some things in addition to the silent screaming but once you consider all the drawbacks to the perk, calling it a buff feels like a stretch
Its a nerf, the amount of times you cleanse a Hex where the Killer can hear you are very low, on the other hand the amount of times you are going to cleanse slower is always.
The worst part is they tought they were buffing it which shows they dont understand their game anymore.

How can you FOMO in this situation, though? Someone fear that they can't use Reassurance for 3 games or something?
They didn't announce the puctual arrival date, but is was pretty clear that once the update dropped it was just a matter of a very, very short time.
People affected by FOMO dont react to this stuff the same way people who arent react, sometimes FOMO people cant help themselves, like people suffering kleptomania cant help themselves either, its an impulse control problem.
