I’m guessing they want it slightly above 50% so that on average new players are getting 2-3 kills. This will probably make them play longer
New players rake in 4K after 4K because at beginer MMR Killer is so much easier than Survivor, at intermediate is where Survivors start putting up a semblance of a challenge with windows, throwing more pallets, not missing every single skillcheck etc.

If tunneling and camping was a serious problem wouldn't overzealous be meta? If all the killers do is tunnel and camp then overzealous is a permenent increase to repair speed that only switches off if the killer stops tunneling/camping!
Do the math, Overzealous is actually a hindrance to your team as it needs at least 2 whole gens worth of work (180 charges) to start paying off (and thats assuming an ideal situation where you find a totem and dont have travel time), thats the reason nobody uses it, because its utter garbage and it benefits the Killer, not the Survivors.
If camping and tunneling are such a problem why arent DS and BT (the real counters) used more?.... wait a second, they are actually 2 of the 5 most used perks....

The wiggle didnt reset instantly, it would regress VERY slowly, I think it took you like 1min to get rid of half of the wiggle progress. It wasnt a counter to sabo or something. It had actually not big of an impact ingame except... that one survivors you slugged like 2min ago and no one picked this guy up and since he is literally the last guy on the ground you have to let him bleed out... seems like a pointless time waste to me.
No, it took much more, 5 minutes and 20 seconds was the time needed to regress from 99% to 0%, half a bar would be 3 minutes and 10 seconds not 1 minute. Sabo had almost the same impact because hooks reappared after 30 seconds which translated into roughly 10% of the wiggle bar.
The wiggle regression was so tiny and so unconsequential most people (both Killers and Survivors) didnt even know it existed, your memories are just distorted about the whole mechanic.

A movie about this game would never have any kind of success, 90 minutes of seeing someone hanging on a hook while a guy with a machete nods is boring, only people who are into artsy stuff like that movie which lasts 8 hours and its just the Empire State building filmed from a distance.

Some perks are pretty good, Overzealous wth the buff for example gives you an 8% increase gen repair time if you cleansed a dull totem or 16% if you cleansed a hex.
Obviously it doesn't go well with boons but it works well with other perks like Inner Strength / Inner Healing.
Overzealous is the worst perk right now and its probably going to be still very bad after the patch.
Lets use patch numbers since its going to get changed very soon
Cleansing a Totem takes 14 seconds and the perk will increase your gen speeds by 8% which means you put 1,08 charges instead of 1 when fixing, to make up for those 14 seconds you spent cleansing you have to fix roughly 180 charges of a gen (1,08*180=194,4 then 194,4-180=14,4 extra seconds now you broke even with the time it took cleansing) which is 2 whole gens of work and you must do it without getting hit since you lose the buff, if you cleanse a Hex you need 90 seconds of gen work without getting injured, this is less bad but Hexes are not something you see every game and usually the only ones you see are Ruin and maybe Undying, Ruin is getting nerfed after the patch which means its use is going to decrease quite a bit plus you actually need to be the one cleansing, other people can beat you to it.
Now this doesnt even take on account the time it takes to find a totem and then going back to a gen, this time can easily exceed more 20 seconds which then you have to repay by fixing gens, with a 8% increase every second you put to activate the perk needs 12,5 seconds of work to make up for it (6,25 if you find a hex) which means if it takes 10 seconds to find a totem, 14 to cleanse and 5 to go to a gen you will end with 29 seconds, 29*12.5=~360 seconds (4 gens of full work or 2 if you find a hex), you could have gone to a gen from the start and start fixing it.
Now, why do I believe this perk is the worst one for Survivors when stuff like Slippery Meat exists? because other really bad perks dont trick anyone, you can see how bad they are, noone falls for Slippery Meat, Buckle Up or Sole Survivor because everyone reads the effect and thinks "ok this is garbage" but this one can trick people who dont do the math into equiping it and then hindering the repair speeds.
-
Right now is a worse version of Bond so there isnt much use to it, after the patch it may be a bit better since you can see scratch marks from across the map but I believe it will be very useless still.
-
Except Hexes which are quite strong, regular perks shouldnt, especially if the perk doesnt give value always, the biggest example is going to be Calm Spirit, if the Killer isnt around when you cleanse you dont get any value out of doing it silently because he wouldnt hear you anyway yet you still eat a 30% speed penalty.
-
In my opinion as someone who plays both roles (lately more Killer) my main concern is they adressed why gen slowdown was meta in a not very good way and didnt adress camping and tunneling in a meaningful way while they nerfed the tools Survivors have against that.
Plus, except OTR and Lightweight, the promised buffs for perks arent anything of note or direct nerfs (Calm Spirit or Pharmacy), most of the changed perks have little use now and will have little use then.
-
@SekiSeki said:
Lightweight meta, I just realized. So Q&Q, Head On, and uhh. Time to get Meg and Jane.
Lightweight synergizes much much better with Sprint Burst than with Head On, if you use it and run towards a big LoS tile by the time the Killer reaches it the scratch marks will be all but gone, its already a decent combo right now so after the patch it will be stronger (I actually believe LW is going to be one of the 8 meta perks).
-
You know whats the worst part about Solo?.
If you are a Killer and you are having problems you can always tank your MMR, go easy on a few games and suddenly you are against overall worse Survivors, then you can chill and stay on the same MMR or stomp, get raised, tank, rinse and repeat.
As SWF? same thing your SWF is having trouble? just suicide on first hooks until you get worse Killers then as stated above.
As Solo? if you are getting very tough Killers and you want chill games if you tank your MMR you will get worse Killers true, but you also get worse Survivors which will make your trials a living hell even if the Killer is bad, you can loop a bad Killer for a certain amount of time, eventually theyll catch you but if your teammates do nothing in that time, there is no way to have simpler, less sweaty games as Solo, either the Killers are sweating or the teammates are so bad its impossible for the Killer to not get at least 2K, the game motto is right, there is literally no escape for Solos.
-
You should wait, use this time to try to reach the rest of the characters to lvl 50 and then prestige them all in bulk the day before the update so they all get pushed to P3 and you get all the teachables at rank3 on whoever you main.
-
Zarina for OTR, Dwight for Prove Thyself and Meg for Sprint Burst, maybe Bill for BT (this is a maybe because OTR overrides BT and I assume absolutely everyone will be using OTR anyway), other than those there isnt anything left worthwhile on the teachables table except memes and/or whacky one trick pony builds.

Super sonic games, not even the full meta I use on Leatherface (my main) helps, and I'm getting downs really fast.
Leatherface makes Survivors go into full gen rush since most of them facecamp and they want to have the biggest headstart possible, when I hear the chainsaw if Im not on a gen I stop anything Im doing and go to nearest one.
-
If they decide to not end the game and hold you hostage either you go AFK and wait until they get bored or you DC and eat a penalty, if you havent DCd lately it will 5 minutes and it will reset in around 24 hours or so.
Its up to you but in my case I would eat the 5 minutes penalty.

If they have a self unhook system it's going to come with risks and that's what the risk is, killing yourself. If they didn't want to force you they would take out the DC penalty
Its not the exact same, first of all if you suicide on hook at least the Killer had to catch you and first he has to find you in that time you may have changed your mind and decide to not suicide, unlike DCing which can be done 5 seconds into a game after you heard or saw something you didnt like.
If they really wanted to stop suicides on first hook they would just disable the self unhook and the skill check on second stage mechanics.

It would take like 80 seconds before the gen lost the same progress the pop would have done so yeah watching the gen lose progress is the right move here.
The perks technically don't stack. Survivors allow them to stack
It is a good change that they are removing the notification though, you can still get something simular if you add surveilance but atleast it takes a perk slot more
So? The Killer gets to kick another gen and still gets the base regression for the one that you let go, its a lose lose situation but this thread is moot since this combo will be gone when Pain Resonance no longer gives the noise notificatio and PGTW is severely nerfed.

I dont think there is no way to nerf her basekit that will make it more fair. But there are few other things that can make her less too oppressive
- Range addons
- Her blink attack counted as special attack. Exposed perks on her is too much to face.
In my opinion there is only 2 ways to nerf Nurse, first is reworking her entirely, second is since she plays by her own rules around Survivors defense tools she should play by her own rules around everything else too, stuff like scratch marks, noise notifications and even perks should have "Nurse only" valuables.

I feel like people are a little over-paranoid about hacks. Even before the hatch change, there would be times when the hatch spawned under my feet. While it is mostly luck, after you play a certain number of matches on a map, you get a feel for where the hatch does and doesn't spawn, so you know where to start looking to better your odds. I highly doubt there was any funny business going on.
Yep, besides someone hacking to get hatch makes no sense, cheaters tend to get more juice out of their cheats, even the subtle ones you notice there is something off because they either get too many extra loops or you have to throw the pallet much sooner than you tought.

BNP's,toolboxes,Perks
Are you telling me someone gets 3 BNPs with engineer toolboxes every single game? Yeah... Im not buying it. I have 2000 hours in this game, around half of my playtime as Killer, I cant recall the last time I faced 3 BNPs or more and Im sure I havent seen that more than a couple of times.
Perks? except Prove Thyself the rest of the gen speed perks dont give much value at the start, either you need to be hurt, people hooked, stay in the TR for some time or the Killer looking at you for an absurd amount of time (Spine Chill flaring for ~5 seconds wont make the gen be finished in 60 seconds).
The whole "3 gens in 60/80 seconds" is a lie told by a lot of people who either have an awful perception of time and dont notice how much real time has passed or by people intentionally lying to demand changes so they can be spoonfed.
-
As a Myers main I admit is weird you can run out of stalk but honestly is something almost never happens to me, you have 7 EW3 tier ups, I rarely need that many in a game to win.
On a sidenote, EW2 with 16 (8 with M&A) TR is a force to recon with if used wisely, you still have that power even if for some reason you ran out of stalk.

I hate to be negative but from experience even if people cry enough about something the devs have too much pride to understand when they overdid something.
Just look at billy and deathslinger nerfs, when old animations and UI came out etc. PTB is just a showcase, they barely change anything from PTB to live.
Yeah I dont think the PTB will change much on release, probably the Endurance stacking and Overcharge are going to get toned down but the rest is going to be left as is. But if enough people complain over and over and over theyll have to listen, with the HUD worked and Killer mains have been crying their eyes out here since, well since forever, but the last year has been especially weepy, they eventually gave them the world.
P.D. I hope, as in a monkey paw karmic wish, Killer mains will have to face only SWFs after the patch because all Solos quit the game.
-
I would wait for the patch, maybe they backpedal in some decissions or decide to push stuff that wasnt supposed to be released yet because backlash, I strongly recomend keep making the "I FEEL MISERABLE AND I WANT TO CRY WHILE SOLO!!" threads going, they worked for Killers so theyll work for us Solos too eventually, we have a saying here "those who dont cry dont get breastfeed" (essentially those who dont/wont complain wont get attention).
Other than that and seeing the last survey I would be kissing Solo byebye, mainly because there were a lot of questions related to "an option to keep playing with random Survivors Ive been paired with" and stuff like that, like they intend to "force" people to SWF or at least a patched-up watered down version of SWF.
-
All of them. I would change the addon system entirely and prune them into something easier to balance.

No offense but one .ttv doesnt represent the whole comunity in the slightest, Clown gets very little flak in these forums, reddit, steam or the imageboards.
Even if he riled the viewers it doesnt mean anything, .ttv viewers tend to parrot what Streamer™ said because its the way echo chambers work.

And then we have of course the 5 million pallets and lokkers all over the place. They don't fit into the ambient at all.
Those are neccessary for gameplay, as I said, gameplay almost always takes over accuracy, even close real life simulators like ARMA games have to make some concessions for the sake of gameplay.
Plus it can be reasoned the asylum burned down but we may be playing in its ruins after 50 years since the fire, that gives enough time for trees to grow and nature to bury the floor, this is a real occurence, you can go to a house ruin after many years and see the floor is regular soil with grass and some weeds, if you dig a few cms you will find the tiles buried under the new soil, this is the reason we find ancient Roman or medieval structures when digging nowadays, nature buries unocupied buildings and infrastructure since plants grow, they die, decay and start making layers of soil, for a whole house it may take centuries or milenia but for a few cms of soil its just a few decades.

Killers will gain more players and Survivors will see less players.
Then hopefully they will balance SoloQ and make it somewhat bearable to play.
But here is the kicker, Killers already have long queues most of the day in Europe and wouldnt be surprised its the same in the rest of the world, if Solos quit the queues will be longer and if they switch to Killer then even longer, right now you can spend roughly 8-10 minutes between finishing a game and loading into the next as Killer (1 minute loading after exit screen, 3-6 minutes queue, 1 minute waiting for ready up, 30 seconds on offering screen, 1 minute loading the map) imagine if a third of the Solos quit, a third go Killer and the remaining third keep playing.
This will force Killers to quit too.

What about disturbed ward?
As far as I under stood it, it was supposed to be a run down massive complex with only the ward standing now. When you look at the map Ingame, it's just that building, random walls and vive versa. The new loop spots with the floor was good, but the rest just wasn't anything new.
Disturbed ward is actually one of the most accurate maps lorewise, it was supposed to be a somewhat big complex but it burned down, the jungle gyms outside of the main building could be whats left of the cells after the fire.
Anyway you cant have lore accurate stuff in games because gameplay always takes priority over accuracy plus the developers may not know a single thing about other jobs or jobs enviroments (which makes sense) and hiring an expert may not be worth it since general public wont even notice if its realistic or not.
I work in an oil refinery and I can guarantee any oil refinery Ive seen in games, TV, movies or wathever has nothing to do with the actual thing, from minute details to the layout of the place, not even the machinery is accurate but since its made for the general public who doesnt know anything about them either they get a pass, same here, I doubt real wrecking car yards look in the slightest like Autohaven maps and I know for a fact steel mills dont look like the McMillan maps either and Im talking about the main buildings.

It is not a strategy to t-bag infront of the exit
It is, if its one of those Killers who get mad theyll get 100% certified mad and then theyll jump into the next match in an state that will make them more prone to mistakes thus helping their Solo brethren in their harsh journey, remember folks, Solos watch over other Solos for they have noone else to rely upon, not the SWFs and not BHVR (especially not BHVR).
P.D. "Gaslight this, gaslight that"... someone has been watching way too much of certain streamer.

Saboteur got a nice buff tho.
Not really, Saboteur main thing is stopping Killers from hooking someone which is its main value (and almost only value), you wait on the hook, sabo it and they have to drop or risk a wiggle if they try to go for another, you will keep breaking the hook where the Killer is going which is almost universally the closest one, doesnt matter if you know its scourge or not, the only thing that matters is stopping a hook and forcing a wiggle.
If you sabo a scourge hook when the Killer isnt there to stop him from using it he will just use a normal one which is less bad but still a bad outcome.
-
Map design is probably the biggest problem in the game and its not easy to fix because many big problems emanate from very different minor problems. The first step to fixing map design is standardize the maps, right now there is way too much differences between them in many fields: size (big vs small), defense philosophy (pallet centric vs window centric), main buildings (strong vs weak), gen disposition (cluster/football vs spread) and a lot of other situations.
Lets take defense philosphy for example, you want to nerf windows and to compensate buffing pallets? then The Game or Ormond get unbearable for Killers because they have already a ton of pallets and then Haddonfield and Lery get unbearable for Survivors because they have barely any pallets but very strong windows. Now size, want to buff mobility on all Killers because in big maps everyone has a hard time? then Coal Tower becomes an even bigger cakewalk.
And this with all maps, now if they where more similar between them, not identical, just less disparity between them things could be fixed without making certain maps a chore for either side.
Now I doubt theyll standardize the maps because its a massive amount of work and they have never ever show any kind of acknowledgement the maps are the biggest issue, the reworks have fixed some minor stuff like some infinite loops or certain glaring flaws and nothing else but other reworks just made stuff way way worse.

That is like putting lipstick on a pig. Paying survivors extra BP to play at a miserable disadvantage is not really good balancing. I still don't think survivors will play.
100% agree, no amount of BPs are going to make me queue only to get facecamped. At first some people will actually be enticed but after noticing they are just punching bags for petty people to powertrip theyll notice its not worth it. If Killers are campy in their natural state imagine how bad they are going to behave once they are frustrated by long queues...
As I said in another thread, after the update hits Solo is going to feel like Berserk's fifth eclipse.

You can only hear the boon at 24 meters for survivors, if you played killer you should know its around 8-10 for them. So T1 Myers with monitor TR range. Basically you only hear it when it's already at your feet.
No, its 24 for everyone, at the edge you can still hear a very faint tune and you still see the blue aura, it works similar to how TR works, the closer the higher but you can still hear them at 24 meters and you most definitely can see the blue tint.

Let me quote it for you: "looking for the 1.5 meter circle around the Boon where the chime comes from?" Where the CHIME comes from. Did I say anything about its EFFECTS?
No, I'm not that bad. I'm busy pressuring gens because after I hit them, they made it to another loop and I decided pressuring gens was a better usage of my time. If I DIDN'T do that, I would get genrushed.
Seriously assuming I'm bad with no evidence just to say Circle of Healing is somehow in a good spot right now??
You can hear the boon at 24 meters.
And yes, you are THAT bad, Im assuming this because you cant even pinpoint Boon locations and current CoH is giving this you enough problems you had to come to the forum to demand an absurd nerf. Hell you even have a post like this in your history "Literally eat flashlights, walk right into a pallet stun and chase 1 person the entire game without scoring a single hit. Only way Survivors won't complain but they still will clown on you in Endgame chat for no reason" Really, getting looped for 5 gens and not scoring a single hit? Im sorry but... come on.

Why should it be easier FOR YOU to negate all the consequences of a chase in barely 2 seconds and for me to spend at least a solid minute looking for the 1.5 meter circle around the Boon where the chime comes from? Not even that, then I have to waste a perk destroying one of my OWN totems but you can literally instantly place another Boon if you feel like it.
Oh yeah highly skilled plays for sure my dude. Blessing a Totem, really earned that free Self-care and doubled healing speed.
What are you saying? Boon circles are 24 meters not 1,5 and healing in a Boon takes 21 seconds not 2, if you are going to demand absurd changes at least dont lie about stats everyone can look at the wiki.
If you are so bad someone you are chasing gets to heal inside a Boon without you being able to either down the Survivor or snuff the totem you really need to git gud because its a skill problem in your end.
