If there was some requirement to play survivor to unlock killers that would force killers to potentially have to see first hand how unfun it is to be face camped. Then maybe they will play in a more positive way.
-
Jane? what about Kate??
-
Punish people for breathing.
- It's out of BE control.
- If you don't want someone to watch or "snipe" you, don't stream.
- If you are going to be streaming, use your brain, give them something to watch. Mislead them.
- The obvious reason it's not bannable, is because it's not even DBD. You're whining about people using other software, or companies products and complaining that such information is used in DBD plays. Well guess what, even if it were bannable, which it won't be, then they will just do it and not post videos about it. The only way you know that people are stream sniping is because they publish about it. If someone is stream sniping and doesn't stream themselves, you have absolutely no way of finding that out.

We have Kate and Jake

I'd have no problem with a "survival of the fittest" type of thing, but I think what the biggest problem could be is griefing - it would be hard to distinguish what is griefing in the game if something like this was implemented.
Good premise for another game, not to be implemented in DBD.

So, I'm not gay, but I understand that opinions are very different. Of the current male survivors, I'm thinking Jake, David, Adam, Ash -(If he were the younger version of Ash - possible cosmetic in the future?) Adam already has some cosmetics that make him better looking, but it still depends on what you're into.
Really, there's a pretty wide variety already, what are you into? A Soy Boy? A hipster? Please NO, All we need is some hipster that the killer wants to tunnel just because of what they represent.

Survivor health progress is already slowed down if killer is in a certain range. Stopping it just gets abused by survivors who are more likely to hook camp than the killer. What BHVR should actually do is make the 8 meter killer aura reveal from Kindred baseline and then rework Kindred to where the hooked survivor gets a percentage of objective points from all generator repairs while on the hook, and all other survivors get 15/20/25% faster gen repair speed while the killer is in 8 meters of a survivor hooked using Kindred.
This is a realistic fix.^^^

@DrDeepwound said:
devs have tested things like this and stated that survivors abused it even during testing and "they camped the hooks to stop killer from being able to do anything"
sorry but survivors camp hooks as much as killers, according to devs tests.
That's a pretty stupid claim. Survivors aren't "camping" hooks. They are waiting for the killer to leave so they can get a "safe unhook" without penalties, and farming their teammate.
-
I always accept a heal from a teammate, except, you slap me while healing, and then follow me to my new location and try to heal, you'll just be waiting. I'm not down for that "here killer killer, get the wounded guy" garbage.

Someone tell him, he can't farm down votes anymore.

I was this streamers killer in that game, hooked 2 different survivors after and got ds'ed by the streamer.
Shouldnt have tunneled I quess then.
You only hooked one after, and no you didn't tunnel either. 5 more seconds and DS wouldn't have hit you. But you were slugging with no gens done, and many hooks already, which is pretty sweaty and toxic of you. At the same time, they are bum rushing the hooks, or you wouldn't have had that many hooks so fast.
-
DS should affect all survivors if anyone brings it in. It doesn't make sense as is that you can be Obsession but not have obsession perks, just because someone brought DS in. As far as Ruin, that's far too OP and would completely cripple new players. DS has a timer and only works if you are tunneled, a game mechanic being abused anyway.
-
Small game is strong against Trapper.
Urban Evasion is strong against Hag.
OoO is strong against Ghostface.
suck it up buttercup, I don't want to play a game where every game is the same, and there are no strong perks or combinations and all perks are nerfed into the ground so they affect all killers the same.

@Sluzzy said:
Her backstory is that she fights back against the killer ... The devs have actually made her somewhat weak in the game but is still hated. Decisive Strike for example should be allowed to be used whenever necessary, not on a timer that the killer can workaround...
This makes me wish characters had unique abilities. Laurie could DS anytime whereas the teachables has a nerfed DS. Claudette could heal faster, Meg has a shorter exhaustion, Jake can sabo much faster.
So much This^^ There needs to be more customization in survivors, instead of, here's a jake skin, here's a dwight skin, here's a laurie skin etc.
-
DS makes obsession random? Instead of being the obsession now?
-
Nope, and I checked addons and everything. I was running Balanced landing, self care, spine chill, and urban. I forget who the killer was now, but they had BBQ, and some other perks, but none of the perks or addons were obsession. Even though I recognized them at the time, I hovered over each to make sure.
-
SWF was intended since the inception of DBD, Devs have stated this many times. It was not on the initial release due to technological issues and deadlines, but was part of the concept from the beginning. Please stop misrepresenting the history and DBD with your ignorance.

Adrenaline is a very powerful survivor perk.
NOED counters Adrenaline. Adrenaline does not counter NOED. NOED counters Adrenaline.
NOED allows killers to still be dangerous even after the gates are powered. An uninjured survivor sprinting towards an open exit gate feels no fear. An uninjured survivor sprinting towards an open exit gate with NOED active... that's a different story. It makes the killer a threat again. Does it suck to go down to NOED? Absolutely. But should an uninjured survivor running towards an open exit gate have a guaranteed escape every single time? Should the killer always have to feel helpless once a gate is open?
NOED counters an open exit gate.
Cleansing the NOED hex totem deactivates it. Cleansing all dull totems before the exit gates are powered stops NOED from activating in the first place. Survivors can counter NOED without needing another perk to do so. Small Game helps, but it's not necessary.
It can no longer even be said "Killers preventing survivors from doing gens counters Adrenaline." It doesn't. Adrenaline can also kick in when the killer closes the hatch. That means slugging for the 4k is now the preemptive counter to Adrenaline.
You basically repeated me, so of course I agree. The only thing wrong with your examples are NOED and an open gate. NOED procs before the gates are opened, therefore survivors do have "fear" as you put it as they have to get the gates open without being one shot downed first. Otherwise, I agree, Adrenaline is NOT a counter to NOED, that was my whole point earlier, nor is it equivalent.

@HURRI_KAIN could you point out where exactly i said, that Adrenaline counters NOED?
I said it is the survivor Equivalent of NOED.
Equivalent doens´t mean counter.
Even equivalent, NOED = 2 health states. Adrenaline = one health state, only if not uninjured. Not equivalent.
-
@Tsulan said:
As far as i´m aware, the survivor equivalent of NOED has been untouched for a long time: Adrenaline.
Adrenaline is completely null vs NOED. It's ignorant to claim that it's equivalent to NOED.
If you are wounded and adrenaline pops, good you're healthy, if you get hit once your dying.
If you are healthy and NOED pops, if you get hit once, your dying...
Wait, I thought Adrenaline countered NOED?....
If you're hooked and adrenaline pops, then you are unhooked, you, oh wait, there's a second before you can move and if the killer hits you you go back to dying....
The only counselation is if you can find all 5 secondary objectives (totems) and destroy them before the 5th generator, it will not proc.
-
GF's mori is lighthearted, a tongue mask would fit perfectly with the GF they have put into the game.
-
Bus window vault between busses is still busted, when will you fix broken vaults, and chase music?! It's been months....
-
Hook camping is the most toxic, but with the gates spawning so close together, so often, and assuming the killer closes the hatch, they can readily camp both exit gates at once without any effort.
-
Ping shouldn't go from 100 or better at start of lobby, to red >300 once the game starts. period.
-
Killer lobby DC needs punishable as well. Can't tell you how many times I get dodged, often before my ping even shows. I've had to use a survivor that is low level, and switch out to one I want to use at then end of the timer just to have a chance at not being dodged.
-
Only pathetic, no skill killers camp. period. If you are a camper, you're toxic and are misusing game mechanics.
-
Badham needs fixed just because of a tile glitch, allowing players to fall through the ground. - Otherwise, please don't mess with it.
Game map is imbalanced, but it's cool, we don't want every map the same.
Cowshed was already nerfed big time, twice. Please give us new maps, current maps are pretty good. Well, as is pretty good, once GF drops, if he's still the buff daddy as in PTB, we'll need more pallets, you underestimate just how strong no red stain is during chase.
-
He's wearing special gloves.
-
Camping and hooking is toxic, spamming crouch/tea bagging is, and flashlight flicking after a pallet stun is toxic.
-
@AetherBytes said:
I want you to think about this from the Entity's view.
"My killers are about to feed me. Let's give the survivors a ######### gun."
Many killer's already spend like 30% of the game eating pallets, needing Nurse to pull the knife out of our backs, and going temporarily blind. We don't need more stuns.
You seem to be confused, the Entity feeds off fear, not kills. As the devs said long ago "We don't care about how scared the character is, we want the player to be scared" Therefore, a one shot gun, would contribute to the anticipation, the hope, of finding it, the fear in not finding it, or of missing and fits into the story of DBD just fine.
-
All crouching is not toxic, all flashlight use is not toxic. Camping/Tunnelling is toxic, UNLESS they are doing it to a survivor that just ran them for 4-5 gens, then it's understandable.
-
Just had a game recently where I did the first gen with ruin, then a second, then 50% of a third, eliminated 4 totems, including a hex, while the team was literally rushing the hook taking turns. We ended up being 3 gen'd, I escaped a few chases, rescued, got caught, then tunnelled, so I was on my last hook.
Ended up, 3 gen'd, I'm on death hook, I did 4 if not 5 totems, facing hag, and not seeing the other survivor anywhere. They are injured. Hag isn't the best, but is now camping the 3 gens. I get one to 50%, but then she is camping heavily and I can avoid her with Urban, but I can't move very far and crow starts flying overhead. I see crows pop up, this is it, I return to my gen do a little work, she comes, I decide to take her to the far end of the map, see if I can lose her. The only thing I have going for me is that MoM is ready, and i'm uninjured.
I get her to the far end of the map, there I see it, my last teammate climbing into a locker. I loop her around, open the locker revealing his location, get hit while opening MoM, turn to run, get downed. Hag wisely downs the hatch camper and carrys off to hook. They DC right away. Hag doesn't seem to notice as she goes all the way to the hook. I hear the hatch, (Didn't know where it was previously) So I crawl for it. Hag must've understood what happened because they never returned to me.
After game, that survivor is accusing me of being mean revealing them. They tell me that they had Deliverance ready. - DELIVERANCE! I explain to them that it's a team game as survivor, if they had deliverance, they should've been the one to draw her away and get hooked, which would've given me the 30 seconds I needed to finish my gen, then they could've jumped off the hook. They kept complaining that they were injured and needed healed.... Right, you needed healed, so instead of the smart team play, you camp the hatch, while I'm selflessly doing a suicide play to give you a chance for the gen.
If it's down to you and me, and you're camping the hatch instead of helping the team, I start rooting for the killer. It's the only way such 'team' members will learn.
-
I had SWF group of Feng Mins, as Hag, I'm not a good Hag, but it was really fun, I ignored gens, got two dead, Devour was at 4 tokens, I downed one in the open exit gate, looked at the other standing next to the point of no return, and picked up the next to last, went and hooked, turn around, that last one did a yolo save, I downed them both, hooked one and pulled the other a little from the gate and dropped since I couldn't carry to hook before wiggle ended, and EGC ate her. easy 4k. lol. Instead of protecting gens, I protected my totems, and returned after unhooks. Several times I had 2, or 3 downed at once.
-
Eliminate SC, and all killers will have to hit 3x to down a survivor.
-
SC has already been nerfed, heavily. all healing has been. If they gut SC, they will have to weaken all killers as well to rebalance. Are you really asking BE to nerf all killers?
-
Okay, one thing I'd like to see added to the update, is to allow more than one protection hit per carried survivor.
-
I haven't seen any PTB gameplay of ghostface yet, but i'm sure they'll get him figured out. I love all the other changes, they sound very reasonable! Too bad, Left Behind hasn't gotten love yet.
-
If doors spawn on same side of map, and only one survivor is left, you could open both doors at once, that would make the game interesting, the killer would see the lights on both at the same progression and would give a stealthy survivor a slim chance to escape, instead of NO chance.
-
The killer has closed the hatch and endgame has started. The only possible way of escaping is via exit gate.
So, I'm giving away the best option that a survivor has, but i'll tell it to you, even though killers dominate the forums,....
When you know the other survivor is about to die on hook, DO NOT LOOK FOR HATCH! your best chance is to stand by a door, wait 5 seconds and the killer will close the hatch, then start opening the gate, and PRAY that he checks the other one first, you've got a 50% chance. That is a general rule of thumb recommendation. It is possible to find the hatch first, but not probable, you can save yourself some time by standing by the door exactly when hatch is closed, that gives you a chance to get it started before the killer gets there. Another tip, start the door, but release before it lights the first light, then hide, when the killer leaves your door, then go finish it.
These tips are your best chance, UNLESS, you're against a hillbilly, or nurse, or a hag that already trapped the door, or a trapper that already trapped the doors, or if, the most common issue, the doors spawn SO close together the killer can basically watch them both at once, in any of these situations, you're just dead. Get used to playing DBD-favoring killers is our motto!
-
What killer is that? That shadow looks menacing.

I agree with all that you said except this:
"There is literally no counter play."
So I'll list the counters now:
- The Huntress with good aim. (MoM activates with basic attacks)
- Leatherface's Chainsaw
- The Hillbilly's Chainsaw
- The Plague (If sick the ash to injured, then hit. Do this til 3 hooks. By hitting them exactly 3 times, the MoM isn't active)
- The Legion (Same reasoning with PLAG, use feral frenzy, not basic attack, then hit them exactly 3 times whie already injured. MoM won't activate.)
- Camp em on first hook (not recommended to camp, but it is a counter)
I agree, and I've posted many counters as well, there are only about 4 killers that don't have a strong counter to MoM. Freddy is one of them, but he's getting buffed soon, so we'll see. Even so, even with just a couple that don't have strong counters, A perk shouldn't be countered by every killer, or why would anyone use it? Survivors don't know what killer their against, so it's stupid to whine about the 3-4 that don't have strong counters.
-
It's not a matter of being too far, it's a matter of default controls. Make it so you can't self care when within unhooking distance from a hooked survivor. Make it so you don't self heal until you've held down R1 for half a second, if you are by a pallet and hit R1 and release faster than half a second then it will pull pallet, same with window. If you are next to a window and tap heal, you vault, but if you hold it for at least half a second you begin healing.
That will be fairly simple to code, and will be a wonderful quality of life for survivors on console.
For example, If you are full health, and try start to unhook a survivor, but get hit by killer, and then you try to R1 to unhook again while the killer is wiping their weapon, guess what, right now you'll most likely stand there as an idiot self caring right next to your dying teammate and the killer smiling only to hit you again. I've tried holding L1 to keep from healing in these situations, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

@Peanits It is your (BHVR) duty to punish people for griefing, not the killer's arbitrary choice. Furthermore, survivors can't leave in the lobby because they can't see the killer's profile. We have established this. This is why they turn to D/Cing. It is the survivor's only way of dodging killers.
Again, answer me this: why are KILLERS allowed to leave against griefing survivors when SURVIVORS are not allowed to leave against griefing killers? You need to stop using that as an excuse. Why can't survivors view killer profiles if you wish to prevent griefing? And why are you simplifying the issue to just ping and griefing? You know for a fact that those are not the sole resaons why killers lobby dodge.
Your priority should be developing a feature where the Leave Lobby button until a player has over 150ms, if you want to stick by your guns in pretending this is a ping issue. Stop using D/Cing survivors as a scapegoat; both are problems that you are capable of acknowledging.
I know your team will not address dodging lobbies because you have been defending it using faulty reasoning this entire time. You have never even admitted that it was a problem to begin with, and it appears that you never will.
Ouch,... I wasn't even going to go there, but he's got a point or two.....
-
Sigh, and everyone just assumes I have a million ping. I give up.
-
That's an ignorant statement. SWF altogether, 2-4 is less than 50% of matches. The fewest at 4 man SWF, view the statistics the devs put out it's all there.
Also, the game was always meant to have SWF, devs have confirmed this, they only didn't have it in the initial game because of the rush to release and the limitations at the time.
3rd, I play solo, 99% of the time and was playing solo when this happened. So your smokescreen argument fails on all levels.
-
Ordinarily it's not an issue, but half a dozen in a row is a bit excessive.
-
Some of these are funny, but most go to show just how overconfident killers are and whining about anything a survivor could do to,... survive.

That has happened to me several times.

I'm a stealth player, and I can tell you that you get points much faster by looping with the killer.
