  • I just speak from experience and observation. I've watched many of the top streamers on youtube, and they're all rank 1 killers, and even as they 3 and 4 kill, they still whine about "my ruin is gone", "pallets, etc", "now he'll get the hatch". They are very good and the gameplay is great to watch, but their constant whining is annoying. Here they are getting 4 kills as freddy at rank 1 and they're whining about putting people to sleep. Even the devs are funny. I've watched the dev FAQs and streams, for instance they talk about how the ruined building on McMillian estate is loopable if the survivor hugs the square structure, however they are pandering to the killers even still, that building never is by itself, there are always interruptions, boxes, generators, rocks next to the building that breaks it up and then the example they gave wasn't even valid because the structure isn't only a square. Killers at rank 1 are salty and sweaty. As I've said earlier, They tunnel and camp. What I'm seeing is that is that the devs keep nerfing survivors to make killers dominate a 4 SWF where all 4 are excellent surivvors. That simply isn't the usual experience. SWF lobbies take so long I 99% play by myself. I prefer to be the only one on my part of the map, If 4 are on different gens, it's more efficient, gens also need done around the map to prevent the 3 gen strategy, which noone thinks ahead about.

Many people derank to have more competitive games. I also double pip as killer at rank 8, I just don't get the excitement out of chasing people down as a juggernaut as I do trying to outsmart the strongest character in the map.

Then..... LOOK AT A WALL. seriously whine much? It's not hard to avoid flashlights. Look at a tree, a wall, anything except the open where a survivor with a flashlight is. I like flashlight save attempts, It's an free extra 1, or 2 hits for me as killer. With the nerfs to flashlights it takes a lot of skill to do it right, which most don't have.

You sound like every Killer player always down Survivors next to a tall object every time.

Generally yes as a killer you loop something and then down the survivor. where are you downing them where there is nothing around? Are you playing in the corn? lol. The killer controls the game, stop acting like it's different. You can at any time decide what to do, you can corral the survivors, if you can't look at an object when picking them up, then slug them, or do a quick look around first, survivors are slower than you, if you check, you can ensure they can't reach you in time to do a save and if you know they are coming, fake a pickup, to bait the flashlight save then get your extra free hits. Am I talking to children or noob killers?

So you're saying Killers control the chase? They pick the paths for Survivors? That's news to me. Other than the obvious (Clown, Nurse, etc.), which Killers control where Survivors can and can't go?

They each have their mechanic, Hag, trapper use traps to cut off chases, but if you're at a structure, and you want to chase them counterclockwise verses clockwise then do it, they will either change to your direction or run into your arms, it's not difficult.

There are a lot of wrong statements in your post, but to quickly cover a few.

    "Self-care Nerf"

The nerfs to survivors are getting ridiculous. They should leave self care alone.

Self-care was BUFFED, not nerfed. It doesn't matter that they stated it was a nerf or that it was intended as a nerf. It's a very big buff.
For every survivor that gets healed slower, there's another survivor that gets healed faster, and for every survivor that runs an extra self-care they get closer to having a free built in botany knowledge.

Although I agree with you on; "It shouldn't be changed".

    The win-rate fallacy

There should be a 50% survival rate. Killers shouldn't expect to get all survivors. On one of the recent dev streams FAQs they stated how there was a 50% survival rate across maps, that's great, however in reality this doesn't account for farming killers, which means that the actual survival rate for non farming killers is closer to 40% or even less, considering that farming killers often allow 4 escapes which greatly skews this data. I enjoy survivor because it is more challenging, I have to try to survive.

    There is no 50% win-rate between killers and survivors. There's a 5% win-rate for killers and a 75%+ win-rate for survivors.

The numbers that show a 40% winrate for survivors are based out on the fake "ranking" statistics that do not represent a top x percentile of the playerbase, but instead shows the pool of frequently playing players within that rank-reset period.

That is why beHaviour and Marth88 get their numbers so differently.

Survivors are the overpowered role. The reason why they so often lose it because of the unequal learning-curve between survivors and killers, where it's a lot easier for a killer to chase a survivor in an unknown map, then it is for a survivor to loop in an unknown/non-mastered map:

Sabotage is a flashlights big brother

The re-spawning hooks is a joke, especially with all the perks surrounding them. If physical items such as toolboxes and med kits don't re-spawn, then why do trapper bear traps and hooks?? Congratulations you've broken a hook, in 2 minutes it will be back. Breakdown, please! Distortion, great, so the first 3x the killer won't see me, however after that he will. So in other words, the first three times BBQ hits, (when you have the best chance the killer won't come after you because the rest of the team is still alive) you're hidden, however after that you're out a perk. It shouldn't work the first three times, but then work the rest of the game.

The purpose of hooks is not to break then and after a while most likely win the game since the killer can no longer hook permanently, it's your job to sabotage them to 99% and break 1 hook when the killer tries to go for it.

It's a flashlight safe, but unlike the flashlight requiring less preparation, sabotaging can be done infinitely (with saboteur) and it's setup can quickened with toolboxes.

    "Git good"

(except for rank 1 SWF situations) As it stands if you don't have 3 great teammates then most of you are going down. I'm survivor rank 2 right now and most of my games always come down to a hatch or 4 death.

This is the type of delusion a pseudo ranking system produces. You are likely far from being a great player, and so was I when I first reached rank 1 (I didn't know where pallets would spawn by that time).

When you become better, you can start going on 10-50 survival win-streaks like Noob3 does.
    Yw.

    1. Self Care. - If the PTB goes through it is nerfed, Shouldn't have to rely on other perks to restore SC to it's current level. - At least we agree it shouldn't be nerfed, Again - don't forget it was just nerfed not long ago when they increased healing time.
    2. Nice chart, I'm referring here to the dev FAQ where they stated that the escape rate is 50% across just about any map. You can argue about this, but you're arguing with the dev's own numbers. killer rate 5%. LOL that's simply foolish if you believe that, do you ever play killer or do you just stink?
3.Right, so sabo the hook, and then somehow outrun a faster killer to the hook and break it first, all but useless- It requires SWF, and/or multiple sabo perks and toolboxes to get this to ever work or just sit at a hook and hope the killer comes there. = stupid.
    3. Map knowlege, If you're saying that survivors have a higher learning curve with maps because killers can just tunnel them down until they learn the map I would agree.
    4. Right go ahead and insult my skill. I'll admit, most of my deaths come from teammates farming me or tunneling and camping killers. I play on PS4, and I purchased the game and was playing before it went free. So of the players i'm against, I'm not new to the scene.

You need a TL;DR. Your text is way too long.

Nerfs are needed. Chases shouldn't be nearly as long as they are

Why's that then? If a survivor has the skill/ability/knowledge to have a long chase then why shouldn't it be long? Killers being outplayed shouldn't be something that's somehow removed from the game because of a bunch of whinging.

Exactly. Also, if the killer is chasing that survivor, guess what he's not doing gens. If you can't handle a good survivor, then hook a potato, there is generally only one good at looping, and running around the map also makes it easy to get hits off on other survivors who are doing gens or hiding hoping you'll run past. I've hid from so many killers and stood right next to them, you have to be more observant. I'm a stealth player if you can't tell.

  • @edgarpoop said:
Survivors are not weak. There is nothing a mid-tier killer of average skill can do if survivors just do gens and don't kamikaze at the hook. Think of how long it takes to find, chase, down, and hook someone. A gen takes 80 seconds (I think). Killers are at a mathematical disadvantage from the start of the game.

I'm shooting myself in the foot here, but I'll teach you something. It's called the 3 gen strategy. Just keep 3 gens together and patrol them. If you are having trouble finding or downing survivors, this easy strategy can grant you -usually a 3, sometimes a 4 kill with little effort.

  • @jackmadrox said:
I don't think changing the ability to hit a survivor as they're jumping through a window is very wise. There would be zero chance to stop the window loopers. Being able to hit survivors as they vault needs to stay.

It's not a matter of getting hit when going through a window, it's a matter of getting hit when you're "safe" on the other side of the wall. hit boxes are all over the place, if you watch anyone on youtube play survivor it won't be long until you see them getting hit around corners and all kinds of other messed up hits. As I've said I've been hoping dedicated servers will fix much of this, so i'm holding my breathe.

Also I'm not surprised at the grief I'm getting, it's common knowledge that killer mains dominate the forums whining to make their game easier. Killers can literally kill a survivor without ever hitting them. seriously, there is so much diversity in killers most of your complaints are just ignorant.

  • @fluffybunny said:
You need a TL;DR. Your text is way too long.

What rank is your killer? Maybe spend more time on them. It's best to play both equally so that you can understand stuff from both perspectives.

Respawning hooks and traps are necessary. Without them respawning, people would just sabbo them all and the killer would be without a power (traps) and having to take everyone to the basement from wherever they got downed on the map.

Wiggling is a joke unless you're far away enough from the hook and people take hits. They're increasing the distance between them I do believe.

Oh, did you join the forums 'cause seeing Legion can see people inside the locker pissed you off? o-o lol

My killer has been rank 8 before, I often 3,4x. It's seldom a challenge. Killer mains just don't understand if you have a strong survivor - (there generally is only one) you avoid them and go after a potatoe. Once you get some map pressure on them the rest are easier to interrupt. I easily 4 kill with Michael, spirit, trapper, legion, - I don't even use billy or nurse, what's that tell you? lol.

Wiggling is a joke, yes unless your team actively take hits, and with mad grit they do that even less often then they ever did. I repeat Wiggling is a joke. No I joined forums as I said, I'm getting tired of all the nerfs even the covert nerfs, - like the one they just did to borrowed time. I've kept my mouth shut because I've been hoping that dedicated servers would fix issues like getting hit through windows and teleporting killers -(except nurse lol)
Since they respawned hooks they made many perks just useless unless the whole team is SWF and sabotaging hooks, if not, it's useless. If they didn't respawn hooks, then that would give the killer something to patrol besides generators, and give the survivors something to do besides gen rush. - You can't take away incentive to sabo hooks, and then whine that survivors are gen rushing, that's literally the only thing left to do except open 1-2 chests a game or takeout a few totems. Removing the respawning will make hangman's trick useful as well instead of being useless as is.

This has been done, but I agree it should only be for SWF, b/c frankly I'm not interested in sitting around waiting to see their loadout and thus increasing the chances of ending up in their room again only to be tunneled and camped again by the same killer.

It should affect everyone because you can just add the SWF and tell them the Killer's perks.

I think most of you on here are on PC, it's not near as easy to add people to groups on console. That's one thing that could definitely be improved.

No, it should affect everyone. We don't know how easy it is to implement otherwise and it only really affects those who just feel like whining about any change. If you don't want to be in the lobby of a certain killer again, just block them. You were probably gonna wait around to flame them, anyway. Doesn't change anything.

I'm on console, How do I block a killer? I'm not aware of this option. I do know that once you reach rank 2 on PS4 killer lobbies are terrible, every other one either steamrolls 3 person teams or DCs, I've gone from one pip away from rank 1 back to beginning rank 2 and back almost daily because of these issues. If the killer DCs it shouldn't affect the survivors pips.

Weren't they supposed to include in a patch that killer BP would serverely be reduced if they were within a certain distance of a hooked survivor if they weren't in a chase? If this hasn't come through yet in a patch they need to hurry this one up to reduce camping.

No, they weren't and it wouldn't be a solution. Bloodpoints are low on the list of reasons a Killer might camp for.

Clearly you misunderstand, I'm not saying killers camp to get BP, but decreasing the killer's BP earnings would incentivize them to stop detrimental behavior such as camping.

  • It would also disrupt the game mechanics, what if a killer brought in add ons, then you would just switch to the new add ons when achieved? - It just makes more sense and saves the killer time to get them as a reward at the end, instead of taking up the killer's time during the trial.

  • @fluffybunny said:

How about this, an added challenge for each killer, if they 4 kill all in basement, or if they hook survivors on 8 different hooks then they will be rewarded with a gift chest at the end of the match with a new item or offering. A challenge that is doable, but not too easy.

Getting chests as survivor is easy. Why shouldn't it be easy for killers?

Killers have all advantages already, and yes getting chests is easy for survivors, Keeping* them is harder, there's franklin's there's skill checks at the end of items that make you use them or alert the killer, and you must survive to keep the item. So are you saying you just want the devs to give killers free stuff? killers already earn more BPs much easier, just buy your items with your free BPs! lol.

  • 1.) Legion, nerf. - shouldn't be able to proximity chase bleedout survivors until they fall. Make it so if you are in the killer's TR then the bleedout stops, proximity chasing makes Legion broken. Give cooldown to attacking while in frenzy, Legion can actually move even faster in frenzy if he attacks and "whiffs" while running = broken.
2.)Pig, proximity chasing and beartraps, similar to legion, if within Terror radius, then timer shouldn't countdown. As it stands there is barely enough time to run through the map and hit 4 boxes before the timer goes off, if the pig decides to mess with you, you're just out of luck unless you luckout and get it off before the 4th box.
3.) Increase the sound of his song, the worst thing about vs Freddy IMO is never knowing where he is, his song is often almost silent until you are going into transition. this is part of the reason why so many survivors "don't respect him" and run around the map. - They don't have any idea where he is until they're right in front of him. make his terror radius more noticeable. As far as does he need a buff. .... IDK..... Rank 1 Freddys are a beast. He just takes more skill than most and he is a late game killer.
4.) If they go ahead and decrease the BP for killers camping that would fix much of LF's problems. Collision does seem to be off a little bit with him when he's using his chainsaw, not hitting trees or tires when he clearly swings right through them.
5.) Trapper is pretty good where he's at, again just need to know how to play him, and where to place traps. I just 4x and 3x again yesterday with trapper and I used the addon to not injure survivors caught in traps. Come on people it's not hard and I we're talking rank 2 survivors.
6.) Clown boring,... - It's just not your play style, and that's ok. pick a different killer.
7.) Wraith was just buffed not too long ago and is now somewhat OP. When I play survivor at rank 2, if it's a wraith, 9/10 the whole team is going down. With his speed, and addons and speed increases when coming out he is becoming a very strong killer.
8.) Nurse.... I like to verse nurse honestly. I don't know what they would do with the absolute top tier nurse players. The trick with nurse (one that isn't running omega blink) is to be unpredictable. Even at high ranks it is rare for me to not enjoy playing against a nurse. If you make your movements sporatic and unpredictable you can have chases go on for awhile. - Until the nurse gets tired of it and just bloodlust tunnels you down, - which they usually end up doing to me.

  • I feel your pain, in the item conservation effort, however I just view it as part of the game, you have to plan for it. If you don't think you can make it to the end of the item without a skill check, just stop and tap the gen the last little bit, or just take the risk and make your decision. It adds to the stress/ anxiety of the game and I don't think the devs want to reduce the anxiety of the game.

  • How about this, an added challenge for each killer, if they 4 kill all in basement, or if they hook survivors on 8 different hooks then they will be rewarded with a gift chest at the end of the match with a new item or offering. A challenge that is doable, but not too easy.

  • somewhat unfair? LOL I usually see killers in 3 member teams just obliterate them, partly because survivors know it's seriously unbalanced at that point.

  • This has been done, but I agree it should only be for SWF, b/c frankly I'm not interested in sitting around waiting to see their loadout and thus increasing the chances of ending up in their room again only to be tunneled and camped again by the same killer.

  • Weren't they supposed to include in a patch that killer BP would serverely be reduced if they were within a certain distance of a hooked survivor if they weren't in a chase? If this hasn't come through yet in a patch they need to hurry this one up to reduce camping.

  • LOL it's ok for the killer to loadout based off the survivors but God forbid the survivors come in with their planned loadout. - Keep in mind, Killer has all the advantages, Survivors have no idea who they're up against. I know most of the time when I switch at the last second it is because I'm just advancing the BW in one survivor and then switch to the one that I'm actually going to play. It's smart for survivors to try to trick the killer, but it's not a strategy I will usually do. It typically just results in tunneling or face-camping by the obnoxious killer.

  • There should be no item/add on loss when DC happens during loadin screen. Can't tell you how many killer DC's have killed keys or purple items. There should also be no depip for loadin DC. It sucks when you're one pip away from rank 1, and then killers keep DCing.
