For me this has always been a buff.
Even when at first it was no longer able to counter a key I considered this change a good buff to the perk. Like you said it helps in many situations now and that far better than befor. I rather like to counter Medkits, Maps, Toolboxes and Flashlights and leave keys alone.
Yes, keys are frustrating to play against. However I face far more flashlights and other items. As such a perk that counter those other items is more helpful than a perk that counters a key. I now bring Franklys along when I face a lobby with 3 items and get my value out of this perk. much better then just playing item shuffle M1 man for the survivors.

You are not being whiney because you admit that you need to work on your skill. Sure you complain a bit but that is fine as you put blame where it is in due. Blight has issues with buttered walls and he needs skill. You empathise both of those aspects so it is not whiney. Ranting is fine this is why forums like this exist.
I used to get headachs too when I was acting more tryhard. However I since found peace by playing to different objectives with each Killer, getting a bit more of the immersion by choosing fitting perks and taking a few more losses because of suboptimal perks choices.
As an example I run Myers with Monitor, Infectious, Safe the Best and Bamboozle/Lightborn. I discard all regression perks as I can not see Myers using a Hex:Ruin without ruining his image. Sure I loose matches with this setup but it is worth it for cheap jumpscares with your 8m terror radius in T2.
I run BBQ quiet often and play the minigame to first fully stack my BBQ befor the first survivor dies. And in general I set the goals of the game for myself. A 4k has no meaning for me if I archive it with tunneling or camping (not counting survivor induced version of those).
However I do not know if this mindset can help you. However if you try to learn and perfect Blight maybe you could set a similar goal: One very sick hit around a corner per match maybe? When I play Bubba as an example my goal is to get one sick chainsaw done where I mindgame the survivor to think I come from one side but sprint to the other side of the loop and down them.

A complain about Nemesis zombies that is not about how weak they are. Where am I, in some weired upside down universe?
No seriously, let the zombies be. They are usless enough and most times they only end up as Nemesis food to evolve. Sure they are supposed to be brainless but they sometimes underperfome even against my survivor teammates.
When they give Nemesis some pressure on generators thats just fine and the way it should be. Nemesis is lacking and could do a bit better with some more zombies to keep survivors off the generators while their boss tries to run from one end of the Red Forest to the other...

To be fair we need a harder pip and rank system again.
The best and quickest solution I heard was to just make the Rank Reset harder. Make people drop not only one color but 10 Ranks (safe for rank 20 and 19 for absulte beginners). Because it takes some time to move up the ladder again this would make a difference in playtime matter and for the most time playtime is equal experience and skill in this game.
Quicker climb for Killers would just be sad. If I would try to learn Nurse right now I would have to derank quiet a bit befor I reach a region where I get survivors who are maybe evenly matched with me because I am that bad at Nurse. Now if I would climb faster then this would be in no way representative for the ammount of skill I gain.
-
I do not think it is that bad of a problem.
You are mostly complaining about cheating or abuse of other "hacks". Those are not the norm as most PC players are just the same as consol players: They want to enjoy the game. Sure you have a bad apple here and there but I do not think this should be a reason to push PC out of crossplay. You would punish decent players for the misbehaivor of others and that just sounds unfair to me.
Not saying that poor optimization and lower FPS rates are not a problem. This should be fixed asap.
However I think one of the strong points of this game is its easy accessibility. You can play it everywhere on nearly every device.
Maybe a small fix could be that console preferes consoles in matchmaking.

It is funny how many people complain about Wraith now because they can not bear with the fact that the guy got a good buff. It is like survivors are crying because they now have to put some work into beating a Killer and can not just play the same against any opponent on the roster.
Wraith even tells you when he is going for the hit and his tell is so obvious that you can not miss it. Also he is not completly invisible once he is near you so you have plenty of time to get to safety. However if you try to finish the generator in his face, surprice, he is going to hit you. You are not supposed to finish the generator in the Killers face without some kind of risk.
Sure Wraith runs Sloppy Butcher. But if you Self Care through that or the Claudette in your team does...well, why try to defend a bad play?
Overall Wraith is fine and can be outplayed quit well. He gets his hits in the open, sure, but every Killer is supposed to get you out in the open. Thats what Killers do.

I had a pretty funny build with this perk on Myers.
His addon that inceases his stalking against the obsession is quiet nice and I first tried it for the "hook the obsession 4 times" challenge. It was a pretty fun game and since then I take out this build sometimes, not the best but it is very funny. TheClownisKing said all there is to say about it, this perk can trip survivors off pretty easy.
Another fun build I had with this was to combinde it with Rancor and Blood Warden. I go out of my way to hook the survivor and then wait if somebody dares to rescue them and risks getting killed. Blood Warden is needed so that I can go an hunt survivor and play this scenario without camping. Makes for a tense endgame without using NOED. You can even decide how long you want to play this game, because nothing forces you to kill you obsession it is your choice.
However you should bring Lightborne as flashlights can ruin your plan.
-
Myers is fine in my opinion.
Sure I would love to see a buff to him but his low terror radius in tier 2 is quiet nice and when you play him with Monitore and Abuse you get a pretty nice set up. Also his quicker vaulting speed is pretty good and can be upgraded with Bamboozle, giving survivors almost no space from a vault.
His stalking is sometimes a bit strange when you want to stare over small loops but you can not stalk the survivor because that pile of rubbish that goes to the survivors chest is to big.
This would be my wish for Myers: Give him a bit more consistence with his stalking.
And yes, I know that Tombstone Piece is bonkers. However as long as Myers has to deal with Key he should be able to Tomestone Piece a survivor from time to time. This keeps the fear alive and makes him not as much as a joke as a normal M1 Killer would be.
-
I do not think it is that bad.
Most people I get are pretty okay with one or two toxic outcasts among them. However when I compare DbD to LoL then this community is heaven. I clearly remember my first match LoL against bots where players flamed me and my first game against real people was just worse. Way to keep new players by the way...
In DbD I get some bad people but mostly people who are quiet and just play the game or who just write "gg wp" and leave. As soon as you do not consider flashlight clickering or something like that an insult to you but rather a strategy to get the Killers attention everything become fine.
I think this community is not that bad. You just have the normal ammount of bad people that you will get in any community. However you will feel the impact of those people a bit more when they are Killer because then they ruin the game for 4 other people.
-
Botany Knowledge and Leader are my perks of choice.
Leader is grossly underrated as it give survivors healing with you or near you a good boost. While not directly influencing your healing it speeds up healing a lot when near another survivor. You can add Second Wind to this as it will heal you after some time and when you heal others with Botany Knowledge you get a good speedbost to your healing as well.
Then just add a randome perk like Sprint Burst or Dead Hard and you are good to go.
-
Huntress and Spirit are the two Killer who play the hardest to get the 4k in my opinion.
They bring the most optimal set-ups in add-ons and perks (lots of slowdown) and play the most efficient. Huntresses sadly tend to camp often in my games but it seems that this was the optimal plan for them as they hit 4ks against me my friends quiet often.
I do not mind those games as they are few. However Huntress sticks out for me.
Spirits are also very competitive and try the hardest to win. Their add-ons are bonkers and they never fail to bring them.
The most gimmicky and meme Killers are Myers and Doctor from my point of view. Funniest match was against a Myers who was faking to be afk. He leveled up to Tier 2 and then did not move any more. However once all gens where done and the exit gates were open one of my teammates tried to finish her quest "Blind the Killer". Well, guess what: Myers had Lightborn and a Tombstone Piece. He murdred her and let all other survivors escape.
-
When I play Myers I do not have mercy, no hatch, no slow game and if they bring a Key I bring a Tombstone piece. However I will not use any slowdown perks on Myers as they do not fit his style in my opinion. Also I will not tunnel or camp because thats no fun for me. Myers has no mercy.
When I play Ghostface and a player tbags me, I tbag right back at them all the time. And I always play him to stalk and not just a hit and run style. Also if you break me out of stealth I will hunt you until I get my power back even if this means to tunnle you, because by revealing me you just signed up for Ghostys bad-guy-list.
In general I give the last survivor hatch if they did not flicker a flashlight and where not a sandback to their team. That selfcaring Claudette in the corner is going to die, that godlike Steve who looped me for two minutes while his team did not do any gens gets to live.
-
I play Wraith and I know what you mean.
However Flashbang is not up that often and I just consider it bad luck when I run into one. While it is pretty strong as it is a stun bomb against him I think we need to give this more time. Let Wraith players adept and get used to Flashbang and see with what counters they come up.
I always tell survivors that they need to adapt to the new Wraith and as such it is only fair game to say that the Wraith also has to improve his game.

I keep hearing this from killer mains, yet I sit and watch the killer come back to the hook constantly, even when no one is around or leading them back.
You know. I get this often from survivors: I go away from the hook, I start to chase somebody and they run straight for the hook. Now what do you think I do? Leave them be? Only when I have Devoure Hope.
So it is getting flamed either for "camping" or for using a Killer perk. Nice.
I purposly use BBQ to go and hunt other people, yet time and time again they lead me back to the hook or the one going for the unhook is the first person to cross my path because they assume that I will just leave them be. Honestly, I play a "Killer". I am not a fluffy pony that sparkles rainbows...

Name another killer that uses Stridor.
Adept Nurses or people who were annoyed with Iron Will.
I also do not get the complain that Deathslinger takes no skill. Quickscoping and ranged shots are pretty difficult to hit on moving targets. Even if you consider him a hitscan and not a projectile hero you should know this from other shoter games that playing hitscan can be quiet hard.
Also there is counterplay to him. Stealth is quiet viable and makes a 110 killer wast tons of time.
Not that I do not agree that a different buff to trickster would have been nice. A slight buff to his chase was also needed. Trickster takes less skill than Slinger or huntress, sure. However he can still be outplayed and you should wait for the final version when he comes off the PTB.
-
The problem is that you complain about the game not being scary and Killers not being blood thirsty monsters while other people complain about Killers being OP and too oppressive. Those arguments go into different directions as making the Killer more dangerous would make him more oppressive.
Take Moris as an example. It is quiet scary when you go against a Killer with 5 stacks Devoure Hope, right? You can die any moment, one mistake and its over. Not just to the hook but over. You see you chacter die and...well, I guess you get it.
The problem is that people were complaining about Moris all day. The old Ebony Mori was a scary think. You got one hook as a warning and after that you were in for the death scentence. Yet people complained about the old Mori as it gave the Killer to much power.
You see the complains about Spirit, Bubba, Deathslinger and other Killers, all asking for them to be less powerful.
But how are you going to be afraid of something that has little to no power?
-
While I agree with the Skill Checks for the escape and I support it, I would like to make his buff a two step plan because that idea needs a bit more time. I think they should let him carry two traps baseline is the most pressing matter. Also make the trap able to down survivors who are injured. Both should be easier than the Skill Check and give him a significant buff.

lemme know what survivor meta perk is too strong cos the only one i'll give you is dead hard for distance. Other ones just counter ######### killer tactics and if you don't play like that you don't see them anyway.
idk what you expect to be done about swf, there is no acceptable reason to punish people for playing with their friends.
While I also disagree with punishing SWF especialy because they come into so many different patterns (1 / 3 lobby, 2 / 2 lobby 1 / 1 / 2 lobby). By nerfing them one would just hurt the players without a good reason.
However I do not think that it is a bad thing that Killers dictate the pace of the game and that survivors have perks to counter them. Spine Chilly to counter Stealth, UnbreakaBill to counter sluggers, Small Game/Counterforce against hexes and so on. One side will always be the dictating one.
If Killers bring more hexes, then survivor will bring Small Game, Counterforce, Detectives Hunch and maps. If killers go for Pop because their hexes do not work then survivors will bring Blast Mine, Repressed Alliance and better Toolboxes. If Killers bring Sloppy Butcher survivors will still use Self Care like...well you get the overall pattern. Its a competition where Meta and Anti-Meta counter each other. Both sides have to adept at some point instead of crying that the other is to OP.
Survivors bring Flashlights and clicky, clicky you? Bring Lightborn and Franklins.
Killers use Tinkerer or Trail of Tourments? Bring Spine Chill or Blast Mine.
Survivors run back to the gen every time? Bring Dragons Grip.
...this is part of the game...and honestly, I like it and I would wish it got encouraged more. Countering perks with perks is fine. And Killers have to deal with 16 perks so their perks are a bit stronger to keep up.

Does the 6% speed boost actually helps to vault? I'm really hesitating between Adrenaline and Spine Chill for my build now.
It counters stealth, but honestly, looking around counter stealth as well. Without Spine Chill, I can already spot Myers, GF or Pig away. And Wraith is noisy enough.
You can much more with that. If you can multitask then you can use Spine Chill to know where a Killer is looking when he is chasing you. This can be very useful for shack and many other tiles. The speed bonus can help with vaulting evading some hit. However I do not think that you can rely on that.
I would recomment Spin Chill over Adrenaline because you will more often have a benefit from it than from Adrenaline.
Do not get me wrong, Adrenaline is very strong and can safe you especialy if you are a bit coordinated with a team. Spine Chill is just more of a general perk.

Title. Because most of maps are survivorside and unfun.
Coldwind, The Game, Swamp, Haddonfield, Red Forest, Half of MacMillian maps, Badham etc.
Only Autohaven, Hawkins, Dead Dawg and Midwich are balanced maps. I really only have fun on this maps. Other maps are sweaty for killers. If you face with good survivors team, you will show more effort. Why most maps are survivorside. Even reworked maps are survivorside.
Where is fun and justice for killers?
I would disagree a bit with this list. Maps and their interaction depend very much on the Killer you play.
As an example take Trapper: He is utterly crappy on Hawkins but the Swamp benefits his power very much. Or Hillbilly, I strongly dislike playing him on the game but Red Forest and McMillan are quiet nice as is Autoheaven. Meanwhile on Ghostface I hate most Autoheaven maps as they are to open, while I have quiet a good time on Haddonfence because of my stealthy nature.
I do not think that there is a imbalance in the game when you look at maps. Yes only a few can be called balanced (Coal Tower as an example). But for every survivor sided map there is a Killer sided map. While Haddonfield is terrible many Killers can dominate on The Game with a easy 3 Gen. While Red Forest is very wide and a low mobility Killer will loose here you have Dead Dawg Saloon where those Killers have their chance.
It is in the nature of playing multiple maps in a asymetric game that not all of them are balanced for both sides. The question should be how many of them are Killer and how many are survivor sided and most importantly: How often do you play on them.
-
@Kata said:
"Oh no, the item I brought was useless!"
Well yeah.... y'all do realize that the killer is supposed to be the dominate force right? Like... survivors shouldn't have anything that straight up counters anything the killer can bring.
Now this changes with things like maps and totems but that's because sometimes it can be unfair and they're good for learning spawns.
I think this complain about Lightborn is very funny. You made a good point here.
If you consider Items the survivors "power" then it is the same for them as for some Killers. All stealth Killers suffer from Spine Chill, all M1 Killers suffer from Iron Will and all flashlights directly counter 3 Killers: Hag, Nurse and Wraith.
As such it is just fair balance that Killers have Lightborn. It is a counter against 3-4 flashlights who can make the game quiet annoying and unfun for a Killer, especialy with chain lightburns. However that perk becomes utterly useless when survivors drop their flashlights for other items.
-
I personaly think that Nurse is fine.
There are so few Nurses who are that good that you have to write them off the same way as 4 SWF with brand new parts. She also is quiet hard to learn and hard to master. People who invest that time and skill should be rewarded with a strong Killer.
Also it is the same as with most complains about Killers: People have to play in a different way against a Nurse. Most people however do not want to adapt and get kill for that very reason. Especialy against your regular Nurse there is plenty of counterplay and even Omega Blink is not that often.

If it comes from your immersion, the game could at least provide you the resources. And currently, it doesn't do that anymore.
I think that is a very personal matter.
For me and my friends the game does retain its horror feeling. However we do not play it "to win". Sure we play to escape but we also play it for the immersion.

This game stopped being horror a week after it came out. In what horror game/movie is a bloodthirsty killer stopped by running around a low wall that they could easily climb or swing over?
And yet people complain about Huntress, Deathslinger and Trickster who do just that. Its kinda funny.
-
Otz has his own opinion based on his experience.
While we can take into account what he says we may have different matches where Killer use other tactics.
I got the effect of Soul Guard quiet often. Not the self pick-up but the enduring effect. This had far more impact for me.
Every time I run Unbreakable or Soul Guard I never run into a Killer that sluggs. Its always straight to the hook for me with no recovery at all. I just do not get slugged that often and I do not know why. This is why I dropped both of these perks. For me they have little use. However I am a big fan of Inner Strengh that bought me tons of healing...
You see your own experience should guide your choice of perks. Otz is a general view on those things, you have a special view just for your case. Take him as an inspiration what perks you should try in which order. He rates their utility over all, you need to figure out how much value they have for you.
I mean...you could even say that Blast Mine was a good perk and had a 5/5 rating in your book just because you like seeing a Killer getting blown up by it. Or you could experience that Smash Hit is a 5/5 for you because you are the god of pallet stuns. Its all up to you.

I feel like people need to specify what they mean when they say slowdown perks.
There's nothing wrong with bringing corrupt ruin, corrupt ruin undying or corrupt ruin pop. Sure it's a bit yikes on spirit blight and nurse but on literally every other killer it's fine.
It's when they stack 4 slowdowns it becomes a bit concerning. Corrupt, ruin, undying, thana/tinkerer/pop is just annoying and you are waaaay better off running a perk that synergises with the killers ability like enduring or save.
I would like to add that these options are little to no fun for me (as a Killer). Just stacking those perks when they do not fit the Killer makes me lose fun and not have more. I bought up the example of Myers however I still like running him with Monitor, Infectious, Safe the Best and Bamboozle more than with any slowdown perks. Sure it would be more effektive but I do not associate Myers with a Hex.
As such those perks are blocking a better game experience for me as a survivor. I would rather go against a immersed Ghostface with tons of tracking perks, Freddy with Mindbreaker, Surge, Sloppy and Devoure and then a Bubba with Knockout, Infectious, BBQ and Deerstalker than 3 times Legion with Ruin, Undying, Pop and Corrupt. I would take a general slower Game or longer Endgame for this any time.
I would like more diversy set of unstackable slowdown perks and Killers who bring perks that compliment their power or balance their weaknesses.
-
Well it is no fun to get genrushed either. Not saying ther survivors should not do that as it is their objective to make gens fly as fast as possible to escape me. However when you play a Killer like Myers or Ghostface you need some kind of slowdown. Playing without that is pretty hard.
As an example Myers usualy sees 1 gen fly when he comes out of T1. Due to his standart mobility he can not pressure people that well and for his power he needs time to stalk. This makes a slowdown perk almost mandatory when you want to play Myers without having 3-4 people escape at regular base.
I would adivce more diverse slowdown perks who can not be stacked to solve this problem. Different slowdown perks that add some kind of side objective for survivors would be great.

@BioX said:
dear lord you make it all seem so simple, if you truely believe what you are writing here then idk...yikez I guess.
Then tell me what is wrong about it?
Ruin is supposed to get cleansed. With the new Small Game, Maps (+ Addons) and Counterforce survivors have plenty of arsenal to get ride of that totem. Also you can push through Ruin at the beginning.
Tinkerer could be problem but then again it only triggers that often and only gives 12 seconds of undetectable. Trackingwise Discordance is better and a Killer with Tinkerer can still be outplayed. Also maybe people should heal more when they notice that Tinkerer is a thing. Also you know when to expect a Tinkerer after you first noticed that the Killer had it.
Yes, Tinkerer + Pop is a huge combo. However the timing of both perks can desync so much that you get little value.
Most slowdown perks are pretty counterable, some even add gameplay. Not to say that they are all fine. However there are countermessures and Northener1907 made some suggestions for those maybe even helping people. Sounds fine to me.

I'm not gonna ######### on the devs and tell them that their game is terrible, but the game itself just doesn't feel like a horror game anymore. The maps are too bright, and they care more about competitiveness instead of actual scare factor. Make the maps darker, add some fog, add creepy sfx, add more blood/gore, anything to make the game scarier and not just sweaty and competitive.
I think this is not true at a general level.
Horror comes from your immersion into the game. You can play Outlast as a running game or Silent Hill as a speed run and it will loose all of its feeling. Same for DbD: If you play it to bully a Killer or something like that, it will loose its horror feeling.
Bright maps are not the problem. Bright places can be scary too as they appeal to a different kind of horror. For me those maps, especialy Tompson House and Raccoon City are a huge step up in the horror aspect. Just using darkness and fog is lazy horror the same kind they do in movies where everything is a jump scare.
Darkness has its place but just because it is bright does not mean it is less scary. Most of it comes from immersion.

1v1 antiloop Killer areunplayable to go against
what now? Man you guys are annoying. You only review your favorite side instead of watching it as a whole, it's frustrating.
Recent Killer that got released all share one similarity. They will kill you in a chase over time and it doesn't really matter what you do, you will just die. The only way to not die is to hope that the Killer isn't able to use the ability the correct way.
Best examble: The Trickster. He's not a good Killer that's not the point. The 1v1 is just so frustrating and unfun. He will land a dagger and you will die over time.
How to counter those types of Killer, the new Killer Meta? W-Shift. Keep a high initial chase distance. Just keep stuff between you and the killer and run straight forward. No gameplay, no mikro gaming, no mindgames nothing than w shift. That's the only way to escape those types of killer.
The best way to counter those types of killer is to split out and do gens as efficient as possible. Because in a 4v1 those killer are just bad. Welcome to the new meta.
Instead of a Killer that requires mikro gameplay aka mindgames, decision making, predicting, analyzing, experience, game knowledge and also has a tool to slow down multiple survivors/gens or traveling the map very fast. Something to get map pressure as a whole. Instead of those types we get those boring unfun 1v1 press m2 and wait until the survivor will just die and be slow af Killer.
So stop complaining about the w shift meta if the killer meta is the hold m2 meta. You want the one thing, you have to take the other thing. Everyone wanted ez Killer that will win chases and here we are. And like every other KIlelr those need counterplay. W Shift is the counterplay. gg hf gl
Oh no, you need to do something other than looping! How terrible! Now you need to learn how to stealth or how to play around the Killers ability because he is not just M1 machete man Trapper...
Sorry but that complain about "unplayable" is just a weird statment. You have other options and you need to loop those Killers in a different way. Stealth is a mindgame and it is playable you just need to put some effort into it. They resently buffed Iron Will to encourage your stealth game even further.
Just beause your regular tactics that fooled a Trapper or a Ghostface did not work does not mean that there is no viable option.
Also Killers are supposed to get you sooner or later. That is the whole point. If you could outrun a Killer forever then you would be on equal footing with him. This is not supposed to happen as you are 4 players vs 1 because of the asymetric nature of this game, You must go down during the chase and it is your duty to wast as much time as possible.
Just to be clear: I do not understand the complain about the holding W+Shift either. On this point I agree: It is counterplay. The Killer can even counter that by chasing smart and not chasing you to a strong tile.
-
Why should it be bannable to kill the afk survivor?
They signed up for the game by pressing that sweet "ready" button and searching for a lobby. If they go afk then it is their fault. You should blame those people for ruining your games with their afk beauty.
However leaving people to bleed out when you had another option is bad manner. Still not bannable but bad mann non the less.
-
I play Freddy sometimes with Mindbreaker, BBQ, Safe the Best and Pop.
He always yields good results and makes the survivors life pretty hard while I do not break a sweat. It seems that people can not deal with the changes they get once they enter the dream world. Also his map presence makes him pretty strong.
He is a good Killer and with his mobility he does not get torn into pieces like other M1 Killers when facing maps like Red Forest or the Swamp. However he has counterplay as he is just another M1 Killer in the end. The nerf was fine and did not hurt him too bad and he still has the recovery speed add-ons for the projection.
Freddy shows that Killers with map presence are strong. Anti-Looping is fine, but map presence is better and more important.
So overall: Yes he lost some power, yes he is mostly a basic M1 Killer, BUT his map presence is his strongest point and that remained unchanged. Freddy is good.
-
Most people still do not know what to do against a decent Wraith.
He is not bad anymore and can finaly get some action. Survivors can no longer tbag and flashlight clicker him into oblivion and get triggered by that. But he has a descent ammount of counterplay and is still an M1 killer for the most. People just assume he is still the same old Wraith and try to finish a generator while he is uncloaking next to them.
I played a few rounds Wraith just yesterday and most times people try to do exactly the same stuff they did to him befor his buff. Of course they eat hits if they play that cocky way. They need to adjust a bit and then everything will be fine.
I like going against Wraith as a survivor. Playing him gave me enough informations what he can do and what he can not do to counter him. He can lunge around small loops that would be unsafe anyway. Big deal, you should leave those tiles anyway...
-
Did I get some good moves and moments? If the answere is "yes" then it is a win in my book. A good and clean chainsaw around a loop with Bubba, a good stalk with Ghostface or just being everytwhere and disrupting survivors as Wraith.
Did I get 4 stacks of BBQ? If the answere is yes then it was a win for me. I like my BBQ game.
4 kills are nice, 12 hooks are nice but they do not give me that much fun. I play for good moments and if it does not please the entity then so be it.
-
Well, if I bring Unbreakable I will never get slugged for some reason. Same with Soul Guard. Its like a curse.
As a Killer I slug when I see another survivor who is downable in range or if I see a flashlight or pallet rescue attempt. I will not just pick somebody up just to get stunned right away. This game can take a bit time depending on how these other survivor play around the slugged person.
Also I will slug when I get a T3 on Myers and Infectious Fright shows me somebody in range for another down. I will not wast my T3 momentum with a quick hook when I can get some more value.
-
Billy is not a bad Killer he just needs some minor tweaks.
Meaningful addons, a more consistent hitbox on the chainsaw and he would be perfect. Yes it is hard to play him but you are rewarded with a Killer that has map mobility, instadown, good background story and a cool chase music.
The problem is that you can always take Bubba. And Bubba works for lower ranks where most people play. Billys mobillyty only comes into play at higher levels where Bubba gets beaten with 1 hook because the survivors finished all the gens at the other side of the map.
-
@Marc_go_solo said:
Bubba + Tinkerer = Absolute nightmare fuel!
He can feel unfair, but he's also one of the few killers that genuinely instills a feeling of terror, and nerfing him could result in that aura vanishing. The game really needs some more horror aspects, so getting rid of one seems counter-productive.
Try "Trail of Torment".
You can chase a survivor away from a gen and if you do not get your down, go back, kick it and get Undetectable to start your next chase. Just Bubba things. If you want you can even "gen camp" and get flamed for that in the endgame chat.

Do not worry.
I got called "Tryhard" and swears for playing Myers because I used "Monitor and Abuse" . I had no good addons, I hooked everybody twice befor going for the kill and my other perks where Bamboozle, Infectios Fright and Safe the Best. No Ruin, no NOED, no Pop or anything.
Proof that you can play anything and people can get mad at you just for playing well.
Spirit is not the problem for most people. Most Sprits are not that good and do not have a headset that allows them to hear you rustling the gras. People just like to bandwagon on the hate without actualy experiencing a tryhard Spirit.

I have seen countless threads and twitch chats talking about this killer and that killer being S or A tier. Here is the reality, based on high level play:
Viable: Nurse and Spirit
Non-viable: the rest of the cast
Too many people base their opinions on a low level of play. The problem is that tier discussion based on people who don’t play the game at a high level is pointless. Against unoptimal players, any killer can win. It is pointless to put then in A or B tier when they all crush noobs.
I do not think that tierlists are pointless. However the tier list needs to point out what conditions it applies.
You are right for a competitive 4 people SWF squad with near perfect skill level.
However most people play simpler games. 3 people SWF with fun builds are not that rare and lobbies with 1/2/1 split are also very common. Now there are already two tier lists you can make. And it becomes worse then more factors you take into consideration. "Skill" is just another factor here.
I can make a tier list about "which killer is the strongest with 50 hourse of practise against normal lobbies". And I can even make useless tier lists about "how dateable is that Killer".
The problem is that most tier lists are done without ever telling the parameters to the audience thus rendering them useless.

What about the Pyramid Head treatment? his cages teleport somewhere else on the map if he remains close to it
Would be an idea. I never saw a Cage camping Pyramide Head. xp
But Pyramide Head should get something for his uniqueness in return. They allready took his skill check mechanic and made it baseline for all hooks. XP

I feel he should get a rework...
His ability is just BS if you dont have any pallet or good window near, and i dont even wanna start with Bubba basement or Agi/IronG/MadG build that makes impossible to escape him if you get caught
Bubba is fine, honestly.
With his last rework he got a certain level of skill while still being an "easy" Killer. He has a strong chase but gets beaten pretty badly by tight looping and windows. He also allows some good play by sprinting around the loop to hit you and when he misses he has his tantrum as a punishment for the Bubba.
As such you have a Killer with counterplay, skill and even a rescource system. Also he has very limited mobility as well as good maps and bad maps.
His face camp capability is a pain, yes. But Bubba is in a good spot right now. Strong teams demolish you, yes, but even against soloQ players he has a fair chance for both sides.
The thing is that Bubba can punish a mistake pretty harshly. You are 3 survivors trying to finish that Gen in Bubbas face? Get rekt because he will down you and you match is over. But this is fair as you had a pretty good chance at running away early.

Face camping the first hook is a scumback move.
I can understand proxy camping on certain Killers like Hag and Trapper. Also I understand people intercepting the rescuer which is often mistooken for camping. However standing right in front of the hooked survivor is a dirty move and should be punished.
The question how we do this is a big one however. Last time when the hook timer stopped while the Killer was nearby survivors were abusing it by looping the Killer next to the hook, eating the Killers time while not loosing any hook progress.
If you can offer a solution to the camping issue that is not going to be abused in such a way then I am all in for it.

It their choice.
I do not see any reason not go after the bodyblocker. Even thou it is pretty fun just to wait out BT if they are standing in your way forever. Some survivors can get baited very easy.
As long as they do not blame me for tunneling I am fine with that. After all if you consider it optimal to bodyblock (Rescuer is injured) then that is your decision. Some survivors are smart enough to bodyblock while running to safety and they deserve the reward for this play. Others are dumb and stand still trying to bodyblock and then BT runs out on them, they go back to the hook as punishment for a bad play.
Honestly, this is a fine mechanic: It rewards good survivors and punishes bad ones. Just do not blame the Killer for tunneling if they do this. Also for Killers: If you hate this so much, consider running Safe the Best.

Huntress. I always get a camping Huntress or a Iri-Huntress. Her hitboxes are strange as hell for me. I hate going against her for this reason alone.
No Huntress is not OP, no Huntress should not be nerfed. I just hate to go against her.

My advice would be to try stealth.
Deathslinger is very hard to outplay once he found you but he has zero map presence. You best bet to wast his time is to stealth around him and not let him get to you.
Also you can consider crouching sometimes. This can break line of sight and throw him off. Do not try the usual looping tactics as thos are quickly shut down by him. Especialy windows become a death trap when you vault them. Dead Hard is a pretty good perk against him because you can dodge through his spear and Sprint Burst can save you as well.
Additionaly you can keep track of his power. When he misses a shot he has to reload. You can notice when he reloads and play differently as long as his power is down.
I once managed to avoid his shot by going into a locker but I would not recomment that.

I like playing Freddy. Mostly because he is...relaxing.
You can play Freddy and it is a very simple but fun game. Most times I use Dreampallets because I like the meme.
I still think he is a bit blant. I want to pull survivors into a nightmare and not into a slightly more blant version of the realm. So yes, some changes would be nice but I never got to know "old Freddy". I only know current Freddy and I do not think he is bad. He is pretty basic but you can have some fun games with him.

What a grand idea! A killer who teleports through walls, misses her target and then bugs out for 3 seconds while they get away. Then we make her really, really slow so she can't hit anyone without using her terrible ability.
Why don't you make her not suck?
Or at least allow me to move the 22 freaking cakes off of her so I don't have to lose pips playing as the worst killer in the game.
Um...we greatly disagree here.
My cakes on Nurse made me play her a bit more. And while I am still at the stat of counting hits and not even hooks I archive during a game she is tons of fun so far.
I like Nurse. And while a good Nurse is scary it is only when you face a God Nurse that is unbeatable. Still if you play at that level you should win against a guy like me.

Tunneling: Going after the same survivor while ignoring all distractions, bodyblocks and other attemts to get you to notice them.
Camping: Staying right next to the hooked survivor.
That said there are reasons to apply both of these tactics:
Tunneling when the unhooked guy bodyblocks with BT even when you want to go after the rescuer or when the survivor flickers their flashlight at you/ tbags after the unhook.
Camping when the gates are open and the only remaining objective is the one on the hook or if the hooked person is in the middle of your 3 gen.

I like this map and I like Midwich.
I get that some people dislike big maps because they put certain Killers in a bad spot and that people dislike indoor maps. I however love indoor maps and I like big maps. As such RCPD is a gift for me.
And I play Ghostface and Myers mostly. With some Bubba in the mix. Hunting somebody through this building is just cool even without the "novelty aspect".

The problem is the way these updates work.
I guess you are talking about consol as I have no problems at PC. BHVR can not just go and fix their game on consol, as they have to go through an approval process with these kind of things. They submit their game changes to the platform, they monitor the changes if it is going to meld their consol and then the platform allows the patch to be published.
Also consol has no PTB so there is no way to monitor any performance issues that well. It takes time.

Complaining about Myers aside from his Tombstone Piece is a strang thing to see.
He is one of the worst Killers you can pick and the Tombstone Piece is the only thing that make survivors see a Myers as a dangerous opponent at all. I see the problem with that addon thou and would suggest that it gets changed so that you cna only kill a survivor that has been stalked for a significant ammount of time. Becuase nothing sucks more than getting killed by Tombstone Piece Myers when you never saw him the entire match.
