Big disagree, surge has barely gets any real value if a survivor runs away from the gen they were just on. It's also procs even if no gens are in range. Plus it only takes away 6 seconds of gen regression.
32 meters is a pretty generous radius, and it has the potential to affect multiple gens. Perhaps it's not the one they were working on, but one you chased them toward too.
It also does not proc and enter cooldown unless at least one generator is affected. It additionally applies to already regressing gens, which I didn't learn until a recent Otz video (thanks for that Otz!). I use it as an added help to Ruin, and in the case Ruin gets destroyed.
Also when you say six seconds, keep in mind it's also preventing you from needing to damage the generator(s) yourself - which in itself takes precious time to do.
-
No... tell me they did not make the new worst challenge in the game so soon again. Man it's better for my mental health I don't read ahead on these Rift challenges.

i have insider info. after reading your post, the devs have decided to delete hag from the game and replace her with another clown. he functions exactly the same, there's just now 2 clowns to level up/unlock
I'll take it!

I agree with OP. While BBQ does have counters, they are not always readily available to survivors. Heck, sometimes you don't even make it all the way into the locker (if a locker is even nearby and unoccupied) with a slow entrance quickly enough while trying to avoid the aura read. And even if the other remaining survivors do avoid the aura reading via locker, some killers assume that means 'survivors have to be nearby' - as shown by prior commenters on this post. (No way it could be Distortion, right?) And as we're all aware, the new meta is for BHVR to make map reworks that are replete with dead zones - including generators in some of them.
Killer used to be a more skillful role prior to Bubba, but not very much these days. Almost all tracking is done for you simply by equipping these: BBQ, Discordance, and/or Tinkerer. (Or play Doctor or Legion...)
As for what to do with BBQ? You could make it do the opposite of Thrilling Tremors: reveal the aura of survivors not working on generators for four seconds upon a hook 40+ meters away. That way it at least won't punish survivors doing their primary objective, and still not conflict with Thrilling Tremors.

Being completely technical about this, Iron Will does have a condition to it - the fact that you have to be injured to use it, so it automatically means you're down one health state. And it's countered by Stridor.
I personally don't think the perk needs reworking at the present time, I think it's in a good spot.
Is there a chance it can be buffed to silence coughing too? It’s pretty unfair that Plague already completely negates any healing perks and counters Iron Will with just her power.
-
@mod Please acknowledge this bug is being worked on.
-
Surge is fine as is. The basic attack requirement is most likely so that the game bases the regression on where the killer is physically positioned vs. a ranged down.
-
To me, just another teachable clogging the bloodweb. Many other things get the job done better: most notably, Prove Thyself.

So maybe they should update achievements and delete this one? For example we still have (now) almost impossible achievements like "3 teleports and grab" as Nurse, or "fix last gen and escape thru gate".
Easier said than done. Companies like Microsoft and Sony don’t really allow for achievement/trophy changes unless they are 100% no longer attainable.
Keys really aren’t as bad as they’re made out to be anyways. They typically don’t result in more than one survivor escaping that way, in my killer gameplay experiences.
-
They can’t do that, because there is an achievement tied to all four survivors escaping through the hatch.

Only Off the Record and Self-Preservation have additional effects. I don't believe Bite The Bullet does (unless I'm wrong then please correct me.) But again, I was talking more along the lines of the reduction of grunts than the other effects. As for NOED and Iron Maiden they kinda are similar since they both activate when a condition is met and the both only last for a duration of the match (and NOED might not even be active if totems are cleansed early on) But I do get what you mean. Do you not think that Iron Will needs to be changed then?
Bite The Bullet also completely removes the healing animation sounds - something Iron Will doesn’t.

Now that you think about it, are there any areas that are only accessible by windows?
Just one... if the killer doesn’t break the breakable walls around it. The infamous room in Dead Dawg Saloon.
-
I think they should lower the invigorated bottle activation time by half a second, it’s silly when you throw it as far as you can yet don’t get hit by it by the time you go all the way through it.
-
Just went against a camping Legion this morning. We worked on gens until the last possible second required to rescue before the next hook state. He hard camped every single hook until a survivor was dead, then came for the last survivor and I working on the fifth gen with Discordance. With Pop and Thana, we weren’t able to get the gens done even working as optimally as possible. No Kindred or comms to assist the situation either.
And people on here think camping doesn’t need limitations? Hilarious.
-
Breakout is fine as is. If you buff it any further it’ll be broken.

Honestly, this problem would be solved by letting survivors see each other's perks in the lobby.
This, and items with addons. DbD mobile does this. They should also display offerings.
-
No synergy with Deliverance, no guarantee you’ll get the second half of the heal off... garbage IMO.
-
Entered a new bloodweb and the same thing. Can a mod please acknowledge?
-
When and how was Bloodlust nerfed?
-
+1 to OP's suggestion! It would make sense if it was still a single-use perk as it was initially going to be; but now that it is not, I think this is a worthwhile change that could potentially add more value to an already circumstantial perk.
-
I might be in the minority, but I think Fire Up is criminally underrated. Sure I'd pick other perks first, but you have to look at all the actions it's speeding up. There's been a number of times it's thrown off a survivor attempting to flashlight save a teammate of theirs I'm picking up.

Because it's consistent with how all perks that directly affect the other side.
Lightborn.
-
At the very least, one killer and one survivor challenge at the same time. But it would be a very nice QoL change if you could do two of each. Man does it suck going into a match for just one more generator kick out of 15 total.
-
Hag. The counterplay options to her are mediocre, and her power just encourages everyone’s favorite playstyles.
-
I like it!
-
Yep. Hag used to be the worst adept, but I think Trickster finally dethroned her.

Tell me the last time you had fun against a good nurse
On Blood Lodge a few days ago. I think I was the only one to escape through a gate after all gens were done. One other person might have as well. Almost died going for another hooked survivor end game, juked her at a jungle gym by the gate though.
-
Killers want to be able to camp and tunnel with very little counter-play? Then survivors will just continue to slam gens.

The survivor won't get punished it would just be slightly more difficult to break him out of stealth.
I’m referring to the current lose-lose mechanic where survivors are revealed just for attempting to pull him out of Night Shroud - even if they don’t succeed.
-
Sure, as long as it actually pulls him out of Night Shroud now - and doesn’t punish a survivor for doing so.
-
Not to mention a killer would have to keep track of each survivor’s unique traits. That’s not fair.
-
Hillbilly, and no other killer comes close.
-
Most killer-sided it’s ever been. Been playing since late 2016.

Hey! I am currently still in mourning and am in the "grr im so angrey" stage:
ADDITIONAL STEALTH NERFS TO TWINS NOT MENTIONED IN ANY PATCH NOTES:
-No longer have collision. Remember how you could block door ways with Charlotte? No longer! This was deemed too "creative" by the Devs, so that has been taken away. You can now glide through Charlotte like a specter or something
-Back to Back view. Remember a couple patches ago, when you latched on to a Survivor you switched back to Charlotte right away. That's gone. Now we are back to Victor View after he latches on, adding another 1.5 secs to Charlottes "awaken" time.
-Victor now consumes PWYF stacks. Dev's are insistent that bab- err I mean brother Victor is not a Killer, but a Power. A Power that can be blinded with flashlights. And destroyed by pallets. Right.
Still testing all Add-ons and bugs. I will update this when I discover more.
Did I really upset that many people playing Twins with PWYF? Were there actually others? ROFL. Just sad I didn’t get to use all my BPS and Puddings on them before the nerfs.
-
OG as killer and survivor. Way more unique than what we have now.

You’re right, I should clarify better. The backpack is found in a chest, so it can only be equipped during the trial. When equipped, it is purely cosmetic so that people can see that you have it.
As for the items themselves, you only earn these AFTER the match if you escape with the backpack. During the match, you can use the items you bring or find as you normally would, but you can NOT retrieve or use items from a backpack.
In other words, it makes you look different, but doesn’t affect the match. You must survive to benefit from it and have items added to your inventory.
Sounds reasonably balanced and fun! Thank you for clarifying!
-
If it paused the timer while the user was being healed, we might have a perk worth talking about. The fact it drains while in the process of being healed is ridiculously draining on the timer.
-
Something unaccounted for in your post: when and by whom can these items be used? During the trial? By the survivor with the backpack equipped, other survivors, or both? Only by escaping with it?
-
Nurse is fine as is (minus her bugs), there are many other things needing tuning and reworking besides Nurse.
-
I would save Hag and Elodie so they are removed from the roster as playable characters.
-
These are commonly referred to as phantom skill checks. They happen way too often to be coincidence, seems to be an intended feature at this point.
-
Doctor is so stupidly easy that you’ve gotta be an absolute noob and straight up bad killer if you resort to this first thing. Yeah there might be exceptions like Springwood or Haddonfield, but generally speaking.
-
No, because it normally takes 14 seconds to cleanse a totem! 😏
But, I do advocate for stronger protection of token hex perks. Made a thread here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/244410/token-hex-perks-buff#latest
-
I wouldn't mind it as an additional bonus BP gain; but do not take away the BP gain from WGLF either. Survivors almost always get outscored by killers even when outperforming them, so I'm good with that.
-
There’s been times I hit 400 wiggle points and still get hooked at a full wiggle bar. Those moments are infuriating.
-
What does that abbreviation stand for? Dare I ask such a thing in 2021...
-
Tenacity! Though I haven’t used it at all since the DS nerf. Doesn’t help every match but when it does, man oh man!
-
Doctor's kit is already bloated, much like Freddy's. And almost all of his addons are very powerful. No way.
-
@FancyMrB said:
Its an amazing perk and pairs well with many others.
I think its extra useful on certain killers that can move quickly around the map (Freddy, Demo, Blight, even the Twins). Really it works for all tho.
If you get it make sure you keep it in tier 1! At tier 3 its not as good. Same goes for discordant.
Not true for Discordance anymore. Now each tier increases its aura reading range.
