BHVR has made it clear they are apparently ok with certain things having no counterplay in their game. This, camping, other forms of tunneling, Legion getting his Feral Frenzy downs again, you name it.
-
I would want it just to silence all these ignorant people saying this in the forums:
-
You won't be banned for others cheating.
-
If I’m going just based off what you’ve said here: bugged.

Here I was thinking Prove Thyself was amazing. I'm gonna swap it out then.
Prove Thyself is amazing. It removes the speed penalty for working on gens co-op, while also granting an absorbent amount of extra objective points. Situational Awareness is not a bad perk, but there are much better perks to run.

she is a Trap killer she is fine i guess that you got clapped by a good Hag and then came here to cry about it
"Clapped" - reading comprehension is not your suit. Her first down against me was with NOED in solo queue. Yes, very much skilled killer. The biased killer mains on this forum are unreal.

Crouch and/or use a flashlight?
See meme above. Flashlights are an item not always available to a survivor. Plus, flashlight = limited use vs. unlimited traps. Which it also alerts the Hag when traps are disarmed from flashlights.
-
@PanicSquid said:
Hag's counterplay is similar to Trapper's. She needs her traps.
If you bait her to a zone where she has no traps, she has no power.
If you harry her and activate her traps on your own terms, she has no power.
If you go for the unhook when she is animation locked, she can't immediately teleport back.
She has up to 10 traps on demand. If there are no traps already in that area, she takes a couple seconds to set one, forcing the survivor to the next loop.
Animation lock accounts for very little of a game and isn't always available. Plus she can just slug.
Survivors need a basekit way to wipe away her traps, or have them automatically disarm around a hooked survivor.
-
Just had this happen again.
-
Much counterplay.

I’m assuming you just got clapped by a good Hag and then came to forums to whine about it.
You know what they say about assuming. I wouldn't consider any killer good or bad based on them playing Hag. She first hooked me after a down with NOED, much skill. And, who cares if that's what prompted me to write the post? If something is broken, it is broken.

You could make the same argument about Leatherface.
He only needs a single down to snowball the entire game.
Yep, which is why I advocate for no killer powers being activatable within a small radius of a hooked survivor. Enough with this crap already!
-
@GannTM said:
Only thing she needs is traps deactivating around the hook. Saying she takes no skill is a bit of a reach though.
No skill in chase. Her whole power is premised around proxy camping. Awful design.

@JawsIsTheNextKiller would seem to think so.

People aren't even grasping the OP's point. Disconnecting is simply one way out of a match a player refuses to participate in any longer, for whatever reason. The result is the same as if the player stays idle in the match, or even worse if they go around trolling by throwing pallets, failing skill checks where teammates are, etc. The funny thing is, those players will never see any punishment. The point is, you can't force someone to participate in a trial they no longer want to.
The DC penalty is also holding players hostage, including streamers who have cheaters that have ways to prevent themselves from dying - even after EGC is over. The DC penalty has no place in DbD, at the very least until the cheating issue is resolved.
-
I have a better idea. Add a secondary effect to Blood Warden that blocks the exit gate of the exit gate area the killer is standing in. That would put a stop to exit gate teabagging immediately (or survivors will suffer the consequences).
-
If anything for consuming the medkit, which means you really only want to use it on a Camping Medkit that you've used up most of the charges on.. for an effect that may not do anything for you while injured and in a chase.
I guess you could combo it with the ultra-rare add-on, which will be taking away your medkit anyways. Lol.
-
I don't know what can really be done about Haddonfield, but the other realms definitely need reworks. Both swamp maps are nothing but dead zones and three gens, and the Red Forest maps are the largest with the safest tiles you'll ever see. They are both ridiculously unbalanced and unfun.

Yeah, and presumably on consoles too.

Achievement, the prestige.

Only for graphics and maps.

not saying your point isn't fair, but behaviour interactive decides that, and you can choose to not see this in the future
If they appropriately punished evil comments like this, then everyone else could enjoy the end game chat. Notwithstanding there is no option to permanently disable the end game chat.

That doesn't change that what the person said was sinful and hateful, and should be punished.

Yeah, you can replace the title with dozens of perk names and the question is still the same.

No the first thing he did was close the hatch while I was on it. WHICH IS ANOTHER BIG COMPLAINT. why tf can survivors not jump in hatch when killer is standing on it (while it’s still open); but killers can close hatch even if survivor is standing right on it?
Killers are given priority in closing the hatch, and can even prevent key usage by standing on the right spot.

It prevents all other item usage, so assuming it follows suite even today.

I mean the reality is technically the hatch was open. If a survivor in the dying state could interact with it and fall in, why couldn’t a (I was) fully healthy tier 3 madness survivor interact with an open hatch
I’m fairly certain from personal experience, and other posts, the hatch escape prompt has been buggy lately. Not sure if it was ever addressed.
-
Doubtful, as they would only be able to be earned for free by playing the game. No income generated for BHVR.
-
I’ve had this open as a bug report since May, no mod acknowledgement or response. You’ll just have to consider it the norm at this point, sorry mate.

No.

@Yords said:
Are you sure a doctor didn't shock you as you got to the hatch while also making you hit tier 3? The doctor's shock can also make you not jump in hatch.
It was most likely this. Happened to me once, never again.
-
I’d recommend limiting it to being in the exit gates! Or else you might end up on YouTube (in a bad way).
-
Yeah, whatever MMR is it is not the solution to replace old matchmaking. I never know what I’m going to get in either role.

Im gonna be the controversial one again and say people in this entire thread are massively understating the power of this build. A good nurse doesn't NEED aura reading perks, she just needs an approximate location. Once a good nurse finds you, you are pretty much dead. Especially with starstruck. So an approximate location is more than enough to simply blink over and survey the area, if you spot a survivor welp guess they're dead. if you don't, you still downed somebody and have a solid amount of exposed on usually least 1 or more survivors. No matter what the survivor team does against this build, they will always be in a bad spot. And unless they are a coordinated SWF very experienced in dealing with agi startstruck nurses, they're gonna die and they're gonna die fast. it doesn't feel good as a solo queue player to go against that type of nurse, since you spend so little of the match actually playing the game and spend most of it dangling on a hook or bleeding out on the ground. The only time this build sucks is when a wannabe nurse uses it, of which thankfully comprises the majority.
You can’t tell me that survivors can’t get huge distance while the Nurse is carrying a survivor. Unless she’s picking up then immediately dropping, she still has to hook that survivor then begin looking for others. By then you best be on your way. Starstruck only has a surprise factor at most once in a trial either way.
-
Have you tried separating from other survivors, as is generally the best strategy for almost all killers anyways?
-
No.

So, the usual counter to the killer facecamping someone is to just let them die on first hook and do gens. Balanced as far as number of kills or the killer's score goes, terrible for that one person who barely got to play that game at all. So I'm just throwing this idea out there (I'm sure there are many), because there's always room for improvement:
What if you encouraged that counter by having the sacrifice meter go, let's say, 80% slower if the killer is facecamping and regain 20% every 6 meters away they are, back to normal speed at 24 meters (chosen to match Devour's activation range).
Doesn't take the option out of the game, but does give the killer a lot of time to consider if it's really a good idea as potential rescuers heal up and/or gens start popping. It would also be a useful indicator for teams without Kindred whether or not it's safe to approach (not that they need one, but it would be an unavoidable result of this idea).
I'd recommend only doing a change like this if killers were universally made better at chases or gen regression, though. Make them feel like playing "politely" is the way to go, and not that their options are all being taken away. But I think it would fit comfortably into the game's base mechanics without obsoleting existing perks (except Kinship/Camaraderie, I guess)
Great suggestion I vouch for myself mate. You don’t need to edit in an apology because one person says the devs already tried it. It must have been a PTB or something, I’ve been playing since late 2016 and remember no such in-game change myself. The point stands that there are currently no penalties to camping or tunneling, people are fed up waiting on the devs to make decent base kit changes or perks to counter these. Your suggestion is totally fair, killers will leave the hook if the progression is massively slowed (not stopped).
That and disable killer powers from being activated within a small radius of a hooked survivor. Mostly because of you know who.

ok so I realise that camping is a legit choice and I have no issues with doing it or being on the receiving end.
getting upset about game mechanics is silly.
But you often make the decision to camp based on info when you hook someone.
In shadow step games there is often no info so it kinda makes me want to hang out at the hook. A lot of players tell me to uninstall, get cancer or kill myself if I do that.
Maybe if camping upsets people shadowstep isn’t the boon to run. That is all.
No excuse for vile comments, I’m sorry you experienced that and please report them. But as said above, it could be anything: Shadow Step, Distortion, Sole Survivor, lockers, or being within 40m of the hook. Shadow Step also has the fierce ability of hiding scratch marks, so it’s not only for the aura blocking.

DbD mobile actually does allow you to create a custom match against bots which is nice. I just unfortunately don’t like playing on mobile because controls on a tablet aren’t that great, PC is much better for control.
It’s a shame because the PC tutorial does allow you to play against bots with Trapper as the killer on a specific map. If they could expand that out to more maps and more killers it would be a decent practice mode.
When mobile has weekly events and better features than the base game... 😕
-
TLDR version: ‘I hate survivors BMing at the exit gates.’
Just push them out or ignore them, real easy.
-
It’s a miracle people ever played killer before BBQ was released, isn’t it? /s
-
More consistent and helpful would be for the hex to not apply to a dull totem until the effect takes place. And the killer get very clear audio and visual notifications of when this happens (such as when a survivor lets go of a gen with Ruin for the first time).
-
I don’t think Surge needs to be changed at all, but yeah Oppression could be brought down to half of its current cool down. Or at most 60 seconds at max tier.

I seriously doubt any Nurse defenders have played against really good Nurse (so called tournament Nurse) even once.
I don’t play in tournaments, so no I haven’t. Should tournament players be the standard for DbD balance?
-
I seriously doubt any complainers against Nurse have even tried to play her once. Nurse is fine (minus her continual bugs), leave her alone.
-
WoO, because your exhaustion perk should be Sprint Burst.
