It is not actually cheating. You are not abusing a forbidden feature or an exploit.

    If we legalise everything, we no longer have to worry about criminals breaking the law (;

Edit: In games like Town of Salem, they actually ban for using 3rd party software, and yes, they have a friend inviting system there too! The question is; would that be the right approach for DBD?

You can make voice chats on your phone now

Using endgame perks is assuming defeat. What if you're using a normal killer build and run into a 4 man prove thyself SWF? You have no chance then, especially with 16 second gate times.

Don’t assume every game is a 4man SWF with Prove thyself. In fact, out of 10 games, less than 5 actually make it to the gates.

That's true. But I'm saying what if? Game balance always takes into consideration the highest skill level first.

If you were facing such swf group you would get stomped, or not...

Well now you're just copping out

The game won’t make everyone happy. That’s a fact. Hopefully it will be as balanced as possible but they can’t please us all.

So, I have to run around the map doing gens, avoiding your ruin, avoiding your hits, your camping and tunneling yet I manage to finish all 5 gens but door needs to be nerfed because... I haven’t earned it?

you got a lot of perks to help you gain advantage once all gens are finished, make better use of them. They even give you an opening time for gates that you can still alter with such perks but then again I should spend even way more time doing it so you can have a free kill. How about earning something once in a while?

What made you earn a 16 second gate opening time? No one has "earned" anything here.

If you couldn’t kill me during the time I got to complete 5 gens, then you totally don’t deserve a kill, at least not mine, and I earned my escape. But then again you got NOED, you can cheese your way to 4k then

Prime example of an entitled survivor main. No one deserves anything. Yeah killers have NOED, but YOU have DS. So just sit down, shut up, and stop being so damn entitled.

I’m no survivor main and my poor Feng Min still doesn’t hace DS, but sure, keep whining and asking for free kills.

I’m root to nothing, but whatever. My SWF games are 5 in 100. We hardly ever get a lobby so we disband and play solo while still on voice comm.

Well, I could say I’m fascinated by your logic too, because killers dodge everything they don’t like... swf, clothes, items, names, yet I have to endure such behavior on a daily basis, where’s that empathy.

I never claimed Killers are saints, I'm just providing legit explanations as to why Killers try to avoid SWFs and solely that. Yes, by playing in SWFs you automatically became part of the problem.

I'd bet my secondary control unit that at least one Killer reconsidered their lobby behaviour and started to pay more attention to the players in the lobby after they faced you. Almost guaranteed. Whenever you completly destroy a Killer with a SWF, that Killer is going to look for excuses and they'll find it in your SWF.... and TADAAA; one more Killer that tries to avoid SWFs - that's how fast this problem spreads.

For the record, I never dodge a lobby because of SWFs because I myself sometimes play in one - but I often regret not dodging them. The difference in my SWFs is that we usually play WITH the Killer AGAINST each other instead of playing TOGETHER AGAINST the Killer.

We put the Killer in a neutral position while we make ourselves our biggest enemies. They have fun, we have fun, perfect.

Still, SWF is not the problem, it is at least the means to another problem. Like I said before, my friends are bad and playing in SWF doesn’t make them any better. And good survivors will still be good even if playing solo. The problem is how some SWF groups use this feature. Blocking voice comms is stupid. I can pretty much make a voice chat on my phone and still talk to friends there. There’s no way to control that.
What should change tho is how solo and SWF work towards the goal. And what limits or handicaps you could add to SWF mode to keep it from having the same possibilities as a solo player.

    I don’t like the hatch.

And empathy for killers? After the last couple of weeks of 1 hour lobby waits? Nah, thank you...

    Where ignorance is bliss...

I hope you realize that you are the root of the problem you constantly face? And now you're basically asking Killers to have empathy with you for those waiting times.

Can't lie, I'm fascinated by that logic!

You're doing exactly what you want Killers to stop doing; you generalize based on YOUR behaviour / experience.

Just because YOU don't abuse voice communication, doesn't mean NO SWF does it.

We all know that both situations are very realistic so trying to talk it down with the "I never do that, I just want to have fun with friends" isn't exactly going to solve the issue for Killers because THEY will still face Cancer squads.

While I appreciate that you don't abuse voice communication, it would be nice if you could look a little bit further than just your own monitor & think about the Killers that have to deal with other types of SWFs. Maybe, just maybe you can even start to develop some sort of empathy for those? And agree to the fact that Voice communication CAN and WILL be abused? And that in that case, it DOES provide a significant advantage?

Maybe you might even come to the conclusion that voice communication - after thinking about all the possibilities and advantages it brings - actually does require some nerfs and balance adjustments?

Instead of just saying "I never abuse it, therefore is must be fine!".

At least voice comm gives me something to do while killers dodge by asuming everyone is SWF. And I didn’t generalize. I replied to a generalization by explaining my case.

Nah you know it is more like "he is headed back to you", "he is on me", "I am opening a gate", "I found his totem", " I am almost finished with the last gen head to the gate", ect ect ect ect.

I have admit, SWF no longer being able to call out perks after they get killed is pretty cool.

My friends are so bad at the game they don’t even care if they die... we play to do something together, not to win any tournament

BBQ can also make killer earn more booldpoints. Comparing to We're Gonna Live Forever, it is totally insane to survivors.
SWF is the only approach to raise up the survival rate. Killer is too easy in this game.

Ruin overpowered? Sir, how long do you play this game?

    2 years.
    It depends on LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am always unlucky. I just tried 1 time to demolish totem at start. Most of the time, we demolished the totem at the end of the game.

Ruin doesnt depend on luck at all.

It can be hard on PS4 but you will get there with practice

The fact that various people are posting about it will help get the devs attention as far doing something about it. One person voice is not enough compared to two+. It may take a while but a little effort is better than no effort.

I mean yeah there are some post that are ridiculous but as long as they are suggesting ways to make the game better than I am fine with it.
If posts really suggested ways to make the game better I wouldn’t have written this. Most of it is ranting and selfish whining.

You should just ignore those threads honestly. If you want to participate in so badly, you can always leave a comment and don't respond it later.

I do that to several type of threads. I don't even take a look at camping, tunneling, genrushing, remove DS and NOED, nurse is OP threads. Same ######### over and over again. People have the right to talk about it and there is not much reason to tell people to not talk about it.

The thing that they should do is to create pinned threads where people talk about hot topics like camping or SWF etc.

There are many very useful and beneficial threads but they get lost in this mess unfortunately.

That’s another thing. Useful threads get lost in meaningless rants

Will they really? They never have so far...
  • We don't like Cheat With Friends as much as you don't like hearing about Cheat With Friends, so the way I see it, we're all even.  :|
I never said I don’t like hearing about it. I have myself commented on how it should be changed in several posts. All I’m saying is that whining won’t progress as respected concern. People read people whining and move on.
  • Do people really lose time healing in SWF?
  • Casual mode! Open - for everyone KYF! All these SWF teams saying they only want to have fun need casual mode!

If KYF had a bp reward, even if minimum, people would play it more. Not only as a training mode.
  • Some perk effects and items should be solo-only or SWF-only. Problem solved.
  • I play with friends here and there and it’s mostly about having fun and making fun of each other. Like when you fast vault a window to draw the killer’s attention to your friend or so. I’d say We survive 5/10 games.
  • While SWF can be a hard opponent, saying you can’t kill anyone is rather curious. You should probably give that p3 Myers back.

Be the survivor you want to play with.

I see many here who say that everyone playing selfish anyways and then do the same thing. I am an altruistic player, have always been. I will be left behind. Sometimes. Do I stop because of that? Nope.

Whoever said I don’t? I’m making this post because I find myself saving people non-stop and I run by people on gens on my way to the hooks who were much closer to the hooked person but never made an attempt to leave the gen for a minute
  • Didn’t we have like 3 offerings per bloodweb during Hallowed Blight?
  • @MojoTheFabulous said:
Legit I would buy something like that because it looks pretty damn cool. Just add a 4th outfit slot for special things like that and i'd be all in.

I've said this before but for killers, however i guess survivors who want to play not stealthy could use it too. I also think you should be able to buy different moris but as if the devs would actually do it

Unless the effect goes off once you’re moving rapidly and dimishes as you stop to walk or crouch
  • So, that's like 6 or 7 lobbies in 12 minutes. It's still acceptable.

Not really considering after that it usually breaks the matchmaking system and you sit there for about an hour or two for one lobby after being dodged multiple times ,  ping is fine to dodge but items and cosmetics? At that point someone really should play a different game than make everyone wait until they think they've pulled noobs
    Indeed
  • Might take a break for 2 weeks. Im 60k for one envelope. Killers DCing at the end, losing everything. Survivors not making saves, more interested in rushing gens. Lobby waiting times worse because theyve screwed over the killers with points. These events sure do bring out the worst.
Last night I played around 6 games. 2 killers DC once we opened the gates. We got no bps, no event points, envelopes wasted.
  • It works for me as of now... until I get another ps4 blue screen of death and I go back to 0
  • I can’t frigging play. 8 dodges in a row, let alone get any bps at all haha
  • The most boring part of a hamburger haha
  • I just managed to find a game. We did all gens and escaped. I noticed you get points for every gen that’s repaired even if you didn’t take part. However, I tried to join the lobby again and got a ps4 error and the game restarted and I lost the 20 points I made

    @not_Queen any assistance on this?

From my perspective the game is focusing more and more into chasing and stealth gets less and less important. And tbh? I like that. Stealth is FOR ME boring and was only interesting in my first 10 hours of the game. After that I was actively searching for killer interaction. Same with Killer for me. Nothing more boring to search survivors who are stealth masters.
I love to stealth and to leave the game without having  been seen. Some games do require you to face chases (which I’m not really good at) but you can also ninja it thru. With the release of legion, stealth players have been affected a lot and there’s no real counter to it. They pretty much ruined a playstyle.

And I agree that lightweight should reduce footstep sounds. At least from a survivor perspective, steps are so much louder now after the patch than they used to be...
That's fine, every taste is different. Can I ask you how many hours you played survivor?
I started playing in August. Thats 5 months of daily playing, being weekends kinda when I play the most
  • They DC if they are found fast, if they carry ds but they are not the obsession, if a killer downs them after they’ve been unhook, if the wind blows, if the sun is high, idk
