lag switching tends to be really obvious. the killer stands still, you cease to be able to play the game, and you suddenly teleport next to him, usually on the ground
I just faced a Nurse in Yamaoka. She couldn't catch me. I was running around the killer shack and she lost me. There was a gen inside the shack, she left so I went back to touch it to stop the regression. She came back and started looking for me. She saw me and suddenly my game froze, then I could manage to run, or so I thought, I appeared right next to her, downed back at the place I was standing where she saw me haha

the only objection i have is with kate's p3 hair
it used to be more subtle but now she's just a redhead
not that there's anything wrong with being a redhead
I like it reddish, I can't complain.

Premonition works better against GF in terms of usefulness given it tells you what direction he is at the moment. Spine chill is awesome, I use it most of the time, but you have to guess where he could be coming from.

I want Kate's old hair back. I use her P3 hair, and it looks so weird, both the shape/style of it and the blood. I bought her because I like the way she looks, survivors are basically just skins, and the change is unwelcome and not what I paid for.
You didn't pay for P3 hair...

I'm playing GF now that the event is over and burning those 103% cakes but using a super sweaty build... I'm getting 2 to 3 DCs per trial... I don't know what's going on D:
-
Keep it civil, guys. We can all agree or disagree but we're in no place to look down on others or ban them from participating in the forums. If we don't like someone else's answer, we ignore it and move on.
-
Noooooooo.... Leave Britney alone!
I mean, Haddonfield D:
-
I was playing on my laptop last weekend and I was playing the trapper and two survivors got super mad because they said I was lag switching and they were from Brazil and I'm in Argentina. Ofc you're gonna be laggy if you're over 1000 km away xD
-
It's not about fairness, it's about being different. Like I said, it could be tweaked or changed to make it more viable for killers, without its losing its design essence.

Pinhead!
-
It's funny how it's all about winning or having a nice killing ratio and not about having fun. When I play survivor, Haddonfield is a map I love. You have so many places to run to to hide and stuff, and you don't have to rely on some tree or awkwardly positioned rocks on some random field... let alone the fact that you find walls at places where... why would you build a wall there... really? xD
-
I was rather excited when they started mentioning Pinhead as a possible addition to the game. I love Pinhead and I know how anxious I would be if I were to be chased by him.
Pyramid Head would also work.

Please no! I love this map on both sides.
Unlike all the other maps that look pretty much the same, this one has a different scenery and setup. Buildings you can actually go inside and stuff. It's different, it could be tweaked here and there, but removed? No, thank you. Unless you want another corn field map with nothing but wooden walls and windows

Same could be said for Shelter Woods, which is extremely killer sided, though. Like any game, people will have their maps they perform better on. That's just how it works. I'm not saying Haddonfield is perfect, cause it totally needs a rework, but it's not under any circumstance unmanageable. I just 4k'd on their as Billy not 10 minutes ago.
I just played on it and a nurse destroyed us, big time. Had a really hard time finding the ruin D:
-
Wait, you want a map reworked only because it's giving you a hard time? Then I want The Game reworked because every time I play it it's because some Legion or Nurse or Doctor or Spirit burned the offering because they know how much of an advantage they got there. Or maybe the Coal Tower, or any other open map because Billy goes from one side of the map to the other in 5 seconds. C'mon... xD
-
Ruin is more mainstream and helps slow down the game at the beginning of the trial but Nurse's can't be blown apart and you will have it till the game ends. You choose.
-
Nurses was on the shrines 2 to 3 weeks ago?

I was thinking about this as well.... and what if I hook my obsession then get DS'd? Will the unhooker still get the obsession or is the obsession pulled away from that hook?
I guess it depends on the order of occurrence. If you tunnel the unhooked guy then you are ruining it :(

Oh, I was unaware that flashlight and pallet saves gave you WGLF stacks. When did they add that? I totally missed the update notes.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/538238#Comment_538238
If you're consistently getting 4 WGLF stacks, I have to ask, how exactly are you playing? Do you race to the attacked survivor every time they go down or are about to go down? I'll admit that you can significantly increase your odds of getting WGLF if you abandon your standard objectives for them, but that would end up decreasing the amount of base bloodpoints you get that get multiplied post game.
I always run to the downed survivor to avoid BBQ and to save them if they are moderately close. I mostly leave with 4 stacks under normal conditions too. Sometimes 2 if the killer camps, I take a hit and unhook and hope for the other guy to run as fast as they can.
-
You would need to combine furtive chase with ds. You hook the obsession, they are unhooked. You kill the unhooker. You go back to the first obsession, you down them and they use ds and get to be the obsession again. You kill them. Twice.
-
@Dehitay said:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Furtive Chase changes the obsession from the person that got hooked to the person that unhooked them. Since you can't simultaneously hook and kill a survivor, would that work?
yes, I was thinking about that before. It's not viable either
-
I was late to do it anyway xD
-
It would work better with Furtive Chase I believe.
-
You really want killers to see your aura when you fail a skillcheck? Isn’t the sound notification enough? Do you want to give killers a radar too? What if Alert also shows the killer when they fail a hit? Let’s not go beyond the point of ridiculousness. There are a lot of new players and a lot of players with low specs computers that will fail skillchecks due to lag. You want to make it so new players quit after their first game? Lol

Does it also cramp anyone else's fingers? Or is that just a me thing? :O
My friend refuses to touch gens because getting chased is more fun (even though he fails at it). Then he complains about not pipping when I do. xD I'm usually the only one who braves through the pain, especially if there's ruin. So RIP my fingers.
Yes, I sometimes needto rest a bit

Pretty much what I keep saying. No matter how hard things like healing, DS, etc. are nerfed, there will loud mouths wanting more severe nerfs. I despise tunnelers even more than campers and DS is fine now. Anything less than 60 seconds and it would be worthless perk as the killer will just wait out the timer with no real penalty. Killer may spend half that time or longer anyway just trying to chase the injured unhooked. Time is the penalty if the killer doesn't have a pair.
Time is the penalty. I like that.

It brings out the worst in people. Sometimes double bp ends up being less than what I usually make a game normally because of prevalent tunneling/camping. Or because I get mori'd since people love to use them during events.
events makes people go ballistic

Ahhhh. Generally, someone getting slugged by the killer (unless it's the final two people) is probably because the killer may think the person has DS. The claw marks are also telling since most other obsession perks aren't getting used. The other thing is that I'm someone who goes for the save, so I notice how the person plays. If they're reckless, most likely DS (possibly BT). If not, it teaches them to not be reckless unless you want to be hooked.
It's more like an educated guess when you're solo. Just be prepared to save if it's wrong. It's sort of like being able to tell a killer has spirit fury/enduring. Survivors aren't as good at hiding it as they may think.

Can you just elaborate a bit more here? Not trying to be snarky or anything, I'm just not quite understanding (and that's all on me). Is this in reference to solos?
Yes, you said “if I know someone else has DS”. I never know what people have because I always play solo.
-
@Pike_Trickfoot said:
Being slugged means you won't get hooked. Not being hooked give you an extra chance, especially if someone comes and picks you up. If I know someone has DS as another survivor, I'll 'fake' go for the person to trick the killer into picking them up. You can literally do anything if you don't get slugged and not worry about being hooked.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/538087#Comment_538087
You have as many chances of knowing as the killer does unless you SWF

@Kebek said:
Ok let me ask you this. What do you think is DS purpose ? What skillful action did survivor do to deserve 1 minute of immunity from harm. Why should he get it. Since right now it certainly isn't antitunneling perk, it's 1 minute immunity for getting hooked perk.
I don't really mind new DS but I wonder what's wrong with asking about healthy changes to most controversial perk in DBD's existence.
How is it a 1 minute immunity perk? You can slug the survivor if you want. You choose what to do and what to expect.

I can come in and say I work 50 hours a week, have a fiance that requires my attention, work around the house that needs my attention.... ya know life but yet I've still found quite a bite of time to play the game quite a bit to make use of the "events" sooo...... I feel 2 weeks is long enough for an event.... it ain't even like theres anything to truly work for anyways in this event.... I want my bragging rights darn it!! Lol
Even if you took advantage of the event, the bp cap is 1 million. That would take your newly acquired gf to lvl37-38 on day 1 (June 18). Being p3 before today requires a lot of gaming.

I was honestly temped to at the question of how the Clown's mother died. I knew she died during labor (I'm a lore fanatic) but I actually didn't know that the right word for it was "Dystocia". I got it right by excluding the other answers.
I had to look up dystocia because I had no idea what it was. I was going to choose the Clown killed her because it was during labor

Don't bring logic into an argument when a survivor staring a generator can somehow have 360° vision.
It seems to me that you never watched The Exorcist :(

Wait, so you can just look up information while doing the quiz?
Cause that would make everyone's results suspicious.
That’s up to you. I didn't because I wanted to test my real knowledge.

I was thinking about this the other day: “why would I reveal my location to the killer doing gens when it doesn’t matter how many are repaired, I can escape anyway” but then trials would last an hour and I’m too old to wait that much haha

Say you’re kidnapped and taken to an abandoned building and your friends come to rescue you and you see the kidnapper with a knife hiding behind some boxes. As your friends approach he is ready to lunge. Wouldn’t you scream: watch out, the madguy is hiding there!? It sounds logic :P

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done it already, even with upwards of 10min queue times, playing solely GF since I bought him. I still have 20+ cakes left to use to farm up BP to spend on survivors (though I have no intention of doing so).The event was plenty long enough with enough people popping cakes to get one major goal accomplished that you can set for yourself, such as P3 a killer/survivor.
If you failed to do that, you're doing it wrong.
People have lives besides DbD. The killer came out 2 days ago... guess I did it wrong because I didn’t take two days off work to play a game \o/
-
I like GF because he can be confused with another survivor in the distance :3
-
It can’t detect the killer, that’s the answer to that one. You can detect the basement but not the killer itself

I wonder why Spanish was never a choice for the exam, a lot of people speak Spanish and play their game in Spanish and don’t even know what the perk names or item names are in English. I got a 90/100 because I had no idea what the cosmetic names were in English (neither in Spanish) and because I failed to guess the dev’s one and on Jeff’s question I chose discordance and it was distortion lol
-
Sometimes it’s the only way to get to save someone. You take a hit and unhook because the killer won’t leave the area, or you try to run the around and pallet stun them to run and unhook.
-
It’s random tho. I have had super nice p2 experiences (Kate for example) where I got all super nice perks right away, and awful experiences (Feng) where I can have a decent build and I’m already past lvl50

@FlamingkittyUmad fun facts:
WGLF was released before BBQ.
WGLF originally had a 200% BP bonus, but had to be nerfed, because survivors would farm each other.
BBQ has its aura reading to reduce camping.
It's easier to get WGLF tokens than BBQ tokens.
Is it? Some killers carry BBQ to see if there are survivors around to worry about that could endanger their kill xD
Let alone the fact that killers sometimes go for the unhooked person (and then complain about DS), negating the survivor the chance of a token. I don't mind the perk the way it is now but I could see a lot of farming attitude from survivors during the event. Farming attitude, aka, toxicity.
