We know that it's DnD themed, that's it.
Do you know how much cool ######### exists within DnD??

This small advantage simply pales in comparison to the fact that the survivor who activated this perk made their chases with the killer much shorter. Especially because the advantage of a speed boost and bloodlust resetting upon taking a hit cannot be overstated, the survivor gets a small opportunity to pick where the chase goes and go to a strong loop. As a permanently injured survivor you have no such advantage, you always have to stick to areas where there are decent loops in order to avoid taking a free hit in the back and a down. People are just looking at raw numbers and jumping to conclusions in this thread.
Can you try to alleviate this downside by playing for stealth? You can. It brings its own risks like encouraging tunneling or losing gen effectiveness due to excessive stealth. That's why I started with "not defending the perk", because it's still bad and the only thing that will ever make it not bad would instead making it gamebreakingly OP, which we've seen with who knows however many other perks. It's just a funky little thing that I never see get mentioned and wanted to say because I think it's a cool little tidbit of information.
-
Not defending the perk but it's worth noting that it also makes all regression perks weaker by being activated, much like a BNP does. That's one thing I always see left out of these debates - every single regression event a killer has is worse, now, because it's all %based regression (with the exception ironically of Ruin, which will continue to regress at 0.25c/s) - PGTW, Pain Res, Surge, even the basekit 5% on kick, plus it takes less time to undo the regression because that's %based too.
The perk is still bad, but it's a damn sight better than it was, and while the maths isn't mathing prima facie it's still worth noting that you're also weakening the Quad Regression Randy's

My genuine reaction so far is you can tell this is the anniversary update because most of these changes are genuinely good. I haven't felt this happy with a dev update for the entirety of Year 7.
Where was this energy for the rest of the year because I'm actually excited for some balance again.
-
To be fair, Twins and Trickster's updates already broke the game in an innumerable number of ways, and I genuinely dread to think just how much worse it could've been if there were fewer resources on Blight (working on a map) to ruin every chapter that released between Silent Hill and Sadako Rising, and if there were fewer resources on Twins and Trickster respectively I unironically think BHVR's office would have somehow imploded despite people working from home.
No, in retrospect, and especially given the state of the game during that period of DBD, I think that there being no map released was for the best.

I can confirm PH has not been nerfed (I just tested in customs) meaning this is either an inconsistent bug or a minute simply had not passed. PH is a very efficient tunneler.

For some added context, she passed away from a complicated autoimmune disease - Nonparaneoplastic Limbic Autoimmune Encephalitis and GAD65 Stiff Person Syndrome - that she made the decision to permanently stop treatment for roughly 2 months ago due to the (incredibly extreme) side effects, and the fact that it was a temporary fix that would one day just stop working. Instead of stalling forever she decided to focus on living the rest of her life to the fullest. After that, her illness progressed incredibly quickly, and she tragically passed away April 30th, just 29 years old.
I know she was religious, so I hope she's in whatever afterlife she believed in, and I hope she can remain free from sickness forevermore. Rest in peace, Zoey Alexandria: you will never be forgotten.

As much as I love the Resident Evil games/content, we can’t forget the Wesker situation where every match was playing against him, that lingered for months, I think that two Resident Evil chapters is enough.
Theres is many more licenses that can be added, or continuations of ones we already have, like SAW.
To be fair Wesker is easily the most popular RE villain I think ever, so even if we were to get Lady D (the second most popular according to some polls and she's in one game for about 35 minutes) I don't think we'd get a repeat of the Wesker Effect. Hell, we didn't have that on Nemesis' drop and he's also up there with those two.

with 2 forgettable survivors (seriously I never bought them), with terrible map (garden of joy), with crappy perks and then one obnoxious perk (made for this). I also hate playing vs singularity it always a boring match imo. Plus his chase music is awful. I would say the only good thing about the chapters have been dredge.
The way this also applies to Alien Chucky and Alan Wake too.
-
And to answer your question no, you should really only use cages in very specific scenarios when you'd be more immediate pressure than just through hooking, like when you can immediately begin another chase.

Nah this is still a million times less frustrating than old DH. I don't think anyone actually believes this is worse.
Distortion itself isn't even the issue, it just makes the issue more obvious which is that killers don't have a lot of reasons to not run full slowdown. Aura perks are hard countered by Distortion, other forms of tracking are useless, chase perks are pretty mediocre and killer dependant and the only really good one (STBFL) was nerfed pretty hard. With all of that, why not run full slowdown when it is consistent and powerful while everything else is just meh. Distortion is a fair perk, it doesn't need any nerfs, but it does make the slowdown meta look more appealing and I think the gap between slowdown and everything else should be addressed.
Listen I will take being in a chase and actively doing things than slowly walking around the map for 3 minutes as gens slowly progress and I find absolutely nobody. At least during the chase centric meta I was actively doing things, the stealth meta we're currently hurtling towards will literally be doing nothing, get into a chase that lasts about 35 seconds, go back to doing nothing. It's so boring lol

POWER UPDATE | DREAM DEMON: REBORN
- Survivors who are awake do not see or hear The Nightmare.
- Survivors who are awake hear a 32m non-directional lullaby.
- Survivors who are awake cannot be hurt by The Nightmare.
- Hitting a Survivor who is awake will cause them to instantly fall asleep and suffer from 20% Hindered for 1.5 seconds. During this time, they can commence no actions except for dropping a pallet, vaulting a window, or entering and exiting a locker.
- This will be considered a Missed Attack.
- Survivors who are awake suffer a 30% action speed penalty to repairing, healing, sabotaging, cleansing or blessing a totem, and unlocking or searching a chest.
- Survivors who are awake also suffer a 100% bonus penalty to missing skill-checks.
- These effects apply only after they have fallen asleep at least once.
- Survivors can be targeted by The Nightmare within 15m to be pulled into the Dream Transition for 5 seconds.
- During the Dream Transition, Survivors are to be treated as awake.
- Survivors will automatically enter the Dream Transition after 45 seconds has passed.
- This Microsleep timer is reset upon missing a skill-check or having another Survivor who is awake performing the Refresh action.
- Refresh causes the Microsleep timer to reset by 30 seconds.
- This action progressively increases in the time it takes to complete, up to a maximum of 16 seconds.
- The Nightmare cannot see individual Microsleep timers.
- This Microsleep timer is reset upon missing a skill-check or having another Survivor who is awake performing the Refresh action.

SPECIAL ABILITY: DREAM PROJECTION
- The Nightmare is able to press and hold the Secondary Power Button to charge Dream Projection.
- Releasing the Secondary Power Button early cancels Dream Projection.
- This will consume a portion of Dream Projection's charge and will require it to go on cool-down.
- When fully charged, The Nightmare will teleport to any Generator he was charging Dream Projection on.
- Charging Dream Projection causes all Generators to spew blood.
- Sleeping Survivors will instead see only the relevant Generator spew blood.
- Dream Projection has a cool-down of 45 seconds.
- This cool-down is reduced by 10% for every sleeping Survivor, up to a maximum of 40%.
PERK UPDATES | FIRE UP THE BLOOD WARDEN

- If at 2 or fewer Tokens, all Survivors in a Chase have their Aura revealed for 10/12/14 seconds.
REMEMBER ME
Whenever the Obsession loses a Health State by any means, Remember Me gains 1 Token, up to a maximum of 4/5/6 Tokens.
For each Token, increase the opening time of the Exit Gates by 5 seconds, up to a maximum of 20/25/30 seconds.
The Obsession receives this penalty at a 50% reduced rate.
BLOOD WARDEN
Each time a Survivor is Hooked, Blood Warden gains 1 Token, up to a maximum of 6/7/8 Tokens. Tokens cannot be gained once the Exit Gates are powered.
When the Exit Gates are opened, Blood Warden consumes all Tokens. For each Token, call upon The Entity to block the exits for 11 seconds, up to a maximum of 66/77/88 seconds.
The Auras of all Survivors standing within the Exit-Gate Area are revealed to you.

And Ghost Face or Wraith are… Broken to you? When she De-manifests/Manifests she still takes a whole 1.5 seconds with a very LOUD announcement sound, and that is already more than enough in my book. Freaking GF doesn't even give you that! So why does a killer with Base-kit Stealth, and a loud/timed delay announcement sound when coming out of stealth mode NEED a Lullaby on top of all that?
I'd argue thag Ghost Face and Wraith don't have a map-wide teleport or built-in slowdown survivors have to interact with to avoid being mori'd in first down but maybe I've missed some buffs recently.

I will die on this hill btw.
Tunneling is good, it forces survivors to improve at their looping skill, i wouldn't be half the survivor i am now If i didn't get tunneled.
You also won't be tunneled as much if you can improve at looping, killers like tunneling weak links, it's smart easy pressure. If your getting tunneled your probably the weak link, or so good the killer has to prove to themselves or you they can down you, in which case you buy loads of time for your team, and if your the weak link you can improve.
Now, i know alot of people rage bc of tunneling and complain it's bad. They have a skill issue and are not willing to forcibly improve themselves at the game. If they get discouraged and uninstall or leave that's shows alot Abt them. They were never worthy of improving.
If you want to improve you will, if you get tunneled all the time you'll want to improve.
Each time a survivor gets tunneled it creates harder survivors for killers to go against.
Tunneling is ultimately incredible for the games health, i know when i first got tunneled i was like "damn, I'm never gonna let this happen again" and i improved and now killers abandon chase with me after 30 seconds and i sit on gens all match because they know I'm good.
Feel free to disagree. But you have to admit i do have a point. Tunneling creates good players
And no. This isn't bait. And no I'm not a killer main (i play both sides evenly)
"You also won't be tunneled as much if you can improve at looping, killers like tunneling weak links, it's smart easy pressure. If your getting tunneled your probably the weak link"
Counterpoint: The killer doesn't have any idea on how to spread pressure, overcommits to you, loses several gens in the process, and is now tunneling you anyway because they played poorly and this is their only way of potentially scoring a kill.
So if you're bad, and the killer's bad you get tunneled. If you're bad, and the killer's good, you get tunneled. If you're good and the killer's bad, you're tunneled. If you're good and the killer's good, you get tunneled anyway because it's the most efficient strategy to win right now and everyone and their mother is sweating like we've just had a heatwave and there's prize money on the line.
You literally cannot win. Tunneling is not good for the game and there is a reason everyone is quitting over it because every single match playing identically is just not fun.
-
If you use DS, then try and use Head On, you have to time it right. If Head On activates while the killer is still stunned from DS then it does nothing except waste time.

That is the version we have on live servers, isn't it? I knew that they reverted the aura change but there is nothing about the cooldown. It's still a perk that only works as a confirmation, that you already are where you need to be. So the utility (actually finding survivors) is pretty much non-existent.
The 32 metres change isn't great either (it further removes utility in niche builds, while adding nothing of value). Also, I'm not sure what perks synergize with screams (maybe hex perks?).
No (Sorry I'm using another screenshot lol)
Current live version reveals aura for 3 seconds, Blindness for 30, and duration is only 15. The version in the dev notes is still nerfed - I was wrong about the cooldown reduction - but now works within 32m of a locker instead of terror radius and, more importantly, makes Survivors scream again, meaning it is once more the only good tracking perk in the game that ignores Distortion outside of Infectious, which is less tracking and more snowballing. Like you've got… Deathbound? Iron Maiden? Thwack! if you're feeling quirky? Hardly amazing options here.

I don't think I've seen that anywhere. If so, that would be nice, though still a bit underwhelming because then it's only good for territorial play styles (which are not that fun to go against). The problem with this version of UW is that they removed the actual utility. It's not much use to activate a perk that tells you, you are already where you need to be, because otherwise you wouldn't go there in the first place and it doesn't help you find survivors, if you don't know where they are.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3706727#Comment_3706727
I'm not saying that UW was the best perk ever designed but I think this whole argument that it made the meta stale is dishonest. I didn't see it nearly as often as BBQ + Lethal Purser for example, which is not argued to make the meta more stale.
I think the issue with UW was, that it had pretty much no downside, so I think a change to the perk would be fine. Though I prefer perks that remain useful and not lose their entire purpose, which UW kind of did.
For example, I think a nerf to Nowhere To Hide (apply the range to the gen instead of the killer) would be justified and keep it useful.
Found it
Screenshots from mobile are so weird on forums lol I'll fix it when I get to my pc

Medkits don’t stack with Circle of Healing anymore (even if used on other survivors) so the 75% from the medkit has to be taken out giving us 564% total. Then we can also add in Better than New from a teammate bumping it up to 580% total and a 2.76 second heal. Everything else looks right
Medkits don't stack with COH?? Good lord I missed a lot.
-
@Xernoton said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3706581#Comment_3706581
According to Nightlight, the pick rate of UW was way below the BBQ and Lethal Pursuer. So, I disagree that it made the meta much more stale (probably less so).
It doesn't matter what I think though. UW is dead and goes straight into the void. Along with about 200 other perks. This is the actual problem. Instead of making it a good, if situational perk BHVR eradicated it.
Didn't they say they were already changing it again to lower the increased cooldown and return the scream but make it based on the locker location instead of moving with the killer? Like I swear I've read this somewhere.
-
Unless something has changed since I last did this, there is no cap, but effects will not stack on themselves. Let's go for the most extreme example: using a Ranger Med-Kit with Abdominal Dressing and Medical Scissors, We'll Make It, Desperate Measures with all 4 injured, Botany Knowledge, WGLF (on a slugged survivor) while the person you're healing has Leader and you're stood inside their boon, and the killer has Dying Light equipped while you happen to be the Obsession.
That's 100% from WGLF, We'll Make It, and COH each, 56% from DM, 50% from BK, 50% from the Med-Kit, 33% from Dying Light, 25% from the addons, and 25% from Leader.
That's a 539% action speed increase.
I made a mistake the first time; this action speed increase is then applied to the already existing 100% action speed, meaning it's actually 639% total, not 539% total.
16 charges / 6.39 charges per second = a 2.504 second heal. But I'll let you imagine the chances of this happening.
-
@Xernoton said:

And they destroyed it in the process. Even if old UW was overtuned (which I disagree with), this version is still bad. Good thing Deadlock, Pain Res, Nowhere To Hide, Pop, Grim Embrace, DMS, Surge and Corrupt Intervention are going nowhere. Because we like perk variety. This is not a good change. Killing perks does not help with a stale meta.
Having one perk far outclass every other perk making it the only option for an info perk also is not healthy for a stale meta.
-
"It was the perfect info perk" that was sort of the reason why it was nerfed..?
