  • Nope, I can confirm this isn't the case since I've been blinding people normally all day (yellow and green). It could be they were using the insta-blind tech, where they'd shine 2 flashlights at the same time, significantly reducing blinding time.

Why punish me for that tho? That’s like everyone bullying a legion who is susie or joey really.

I envy people who don't get bullied playing legion.

  • Okay so.

The devs have said, many times, that by stats alone SWF and solo aren't that far apart. Now everyone knows this to be false- a SWF death squad is so far apart from 4 exceptionally good solo players (but voice comms can't make you better at being chased, for example. If you're bad, you're bad), so they're taking this into account as well. Community feedback is important.

When the MMR system releases this will give them more metrics to judge survivors and killers on. For example, going by escapes and kills alone they're close. Going by game length, how long each person was hooked, how long each gen took, how long each chase was, who saved who, did they go down taking a protection hit, did they die unhooking, were the first hooked or three hooked, they'll be able to analyse this issue in a lot more depth.

If it continues to seem balanced, then I don't know what they'll do, probably nothing.

If it becomes unbalanced, they will take action.

This is what they've always done (eventually).

This was answered in their QNA from home which me and Fibijean did a summary of. I know you know this, since you took my paraphrased words as the devs' own ones and then tried to make false claims over this.

It isn't new information. The devs are aware.

EDIT: made it more clear what I meant by "everyone knows this to be false".

  • Gens, hooks, gates, and I believe cages cannot have a trail around them and will disappear 3 seconds after being placed, in comparison or the 75 seconds they usually spend on the ground. This is intended.

Unless you're trying to PO a Killer with a Head On/DS wombo combo or you're in a SWF's, I've never found Head On to be that useful honestly.

    Useful? No.

    Incredibly fun? Yes.

  • @Desh said:

And that's the risk of it. PH breaks the Meta better than Freddy by using a Power that instantly "hooks" people. It's a fun change because it requires you to run new and creative builds. I don't really see what the issue is.

    My bad lol

  • @Cheers said:

So it should show the killer the generator glowing in yellow for both better together and trial of Torment, just so the killer couldn't tell the difference! Its genius!

That'd nerf it more though :(

If the killer could see the better together aura then they know where (usually) 2 people are without needing discordance.

Just remove the yellow aura on TOT and buff both perks in doing so (or, un-"nerf" Better Together anyway).

  • AFAIK Leaks By Daylight posted a render of him without the Pyramid and there's literally nothing there lol.

The whole FOV change and the increased cooldown is what makes me think its a shadow nerf. Never heard of a bug making a specific killers FOV different.

Nah it happened to Wraith too lol and if they gotta shadow nerf Wraith someone's being fired

This is literally the first time I am hearing about any hillbilly bugs and I STILL don't know what exactly is bugged about him.

damn really? i saw tons of threads.

AFAIK his FOV was wrong, his lunges were bugged, chainsaw cooldown (normal) was longer, chainsaw cooldown hitting into objects didn't exist, ghost saws are still a thing despite having been an issue since P2P, and now apparently his chainsaw sound is broken too.

  • @quickreview said:

It's the perfect camping killer + negates all the gameplay related to hooks = less gameplay for survivors.

Frankly not understandable how they thought it would have been fun for survivors.

Feels more and more like survs are considered NPC bots in this game.

Yeah, perfect for camping. So long as you fancy walking across the entire map as a 115% killer with no movement ability just to do so, and hope the survivor doesn't get rescued by then.

If you're using his cages to camp, you're doing something horribly wrong.

Facing Pyramid Head is pretty fun imo.

######### where? red rank killers have entire campsites under the guise of "eating ds" and and most killers sub 9 actually play fair but aggressive.

Damn usually they evacuate the dancefloor ASAP at high ranks- sure they do enjoy a bit of tunnel vision into slugging but that's why people use DS so much. Most know camping is a sure-fire way to lose provided survivors have a cumulative braincell count of 5 (I know in solo q that's rare but still).

Oh I didn't know that, thanks for clarifying!

But my point still stands, any company would look respectful and professional if they support any kind of movement regardless of how big or small they are.

    Yeah without a doubt.

I do honestly think BHVR care- or care than most other corporations, purely for the fact they're showing their support in more than one way. They've released a statement, have said they'll give support to Hoodstock (a BLM charity in Montreal), have made Pride emotes free for everyone to use (and properly commisioned them so they did spend proper money on them), have said they're also planning to make BLM emotes, and their lore is pretty diverse and inclusive.

All power to BHVR, if this is just for profit you're making a lot of right calls.

  • Hi Max,

Unfortunately this section of the forums is in English, please head over to the Spanish sections of the forums (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/spanish) if you find it easier speaking in Spanish.

In terms of your question (if you feel comfortable speaking in English), please go to the Technical Issues section of the forums (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/technical-issues), since they should be able to help you out. My best guess is to re-install, but since you've tried that I don't know. It could be your hardware isn't up to scratch?

Sorry if I misinterpreted your message- I had to use google translate for it and we all know that can be unreliable.

Hopefully you get it sorted out soon :)

  • @Kate_cx said:

Well Behaviour is a huge company and a company supporting pride month makes it look like a respectful professional company. So yes I guess it is for support.

Actually you'd be surprised- BHVR isn't that huge. They have, like, 500 employees. Not 500 people for DBD, 500 employees- that's the marketing, PR, HR, devs, devs for other games (they make quite a few mobile games), according to their website they offer free hot meals to all staff so I'd guess catering staff too. In comparison to a lot of other companies BHVR is pretty small.

  • @TheOhioHutcH said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1355249#Comment_1355249

Because its inferior Hardware the people that own a switch should know that

And BHVR decided to sell their produce on said hardware. It is therefore their responsibility to provide a product that is able to be played. I'm not entirely sure how laws work in regards to selling video games but for all other products sold on the UK (where I purchased my switch copy of dbd) products be "Fit for purpose" under the Consumer Rights Act (2015), which does also include digital goods.

Having a game not work as advertised despite not officially cancelling support violates this law. Bearing in mind this was advertised at a solid 30fps, which the op complains it isn't. Bhvr should be aware of their own technical limitations and either optimise the game for 30fps or don't advertise it as such.

I am aware of the limited hardware and still bought the game on switch knowing the graphics would be sub par. I guessed the fps wouldn't be stellar but so many factors impacting performance is rediculous- everything you do basically breaks your framerate except running around on about 3 maps.

Having inferior hardware doesn't means a particular platform shouldn't matter. People still bought the game, let them play it as promised.

  • @TheOhioHutcH said:

    Switch don't matter imo

    Why not?

  • Spine chill is fine and shouldn't be nerfed. It has countwrplay if you fear a survivor is running it, and 36m advance warning isn't typically enough to make it very far without leaving scratches and therefore showing exactly where you are.

Let's not nerf one of the only non-meta survivor perks that's good, please. I don't want to see MORE people complain about seeing nothing but meta meta meta.

  • Okay but I don't care if this is a joke your faulty perk skills need to be called out. Scaling in 100/200/1000? Seriously?

It should clearly be 500/750/100 or its far too weak.

  • @thottiepippen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1352228#Comment_1352228

You make an awesome point. I pretty much run those 3 with everything now. Why? Any decent killer will literally follow scratch marks across an entire map (yes I see you huntress that just cant give it up). I run iW to counter all the post hit screaming. It too is extremely powerful. And then spine chill, it is what it is.

I was actually being sarcastic with the "very practical" part, sorry I should've clarified.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Adding a scalling effect would be nice

For example first hit aplies blindness

    Third hit mangled

    6th hit oblivious

    9th hit broken

In multiple or three's because the perk is called third seal

The only issue I have with this is in an ideal game you'd be hitting each survivor 6 times, that 6th hit being death. So you'd only really get blindness and mangled which, why not just run sloppy since blindness is useless vs a swf?

  • I'd say I'm average. I know how to play and my game knowledge is pretty big brain but putting it into practice I fall so hard you'd think I was in a LifeCall advert. I'd say I'm definitely a better killer than survivor, although that could be because I use Head On in 80% of my games lol.

  • The point of the EGC is to force survivors to leave, it is not meant as a way of getting kills.

If survivors refuse to leave then you, yourself, can open the exit gates to begin the collapse.

Just realised I basically said exactly what @Aven_Fallen did lol.

  • Yes. The devs have said they're looking into making hits server-sided so they can reduce the advantages of high ping.

  • Convoluted Escape:

While in the dying state, press and hold the active ability button for 80/79/78 seconds. Once the perk is fully charged, the next time you are picked up by the killer, succeed a tremendously difficult skillcheck every 10% of your wiggle progress. If you hit 9 skillchecks in a row, there is a 2% chance of you escaping.

Convoluted Escape can only be used by one member of the survivor team.

Failing any skillcheck instantly sacrifices you and award the killer full emblem scores and bloodpoints for a 3 hook late sacrifice.

  • Play normally and check them out at the end of the game. If they trash talk me just leave, if not then I say hi and wish em good luck in their games

  • @LordGlint said:

Surveillance already counters what technician does. Technician makes the sounds quieter while surveillance makes it louder. If theyre both in play they cancel each other out.

Yeah, but if this effect came through Technician would arguably be one of the best survivor perks in the game in terms of stealth, and surveillance would therefore be the best perk to counter this.

I hope it goes through so surveillance meta can finally exist :)

  • Hag is already such a good killer and her only real weaknesses are SWF teams (every killer has this) or flashlights. The devs put her in an amazing spot with her buff like a year and a bit ago- she's played rarely but when she is played damn she's good.

  • @Victor_hensley said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1352278#Comment_1352278

they would not do gens, and had so many second chance perks, and kept running into a hook dead zone, could have slugged them, but they were all rank 1s one day after rank reset.

So by this alone they didn't make you dc. They ran to a section you couldn't hook them however slugging still exists in the game. Unbreakable can only be used once per match.

It sucks you faced them but nobody made you dc since that game was entirely winnable.

  • @LordGlint said:

Thats not so much as a rework and just a straight buff. You enhanced the numbers on what it currently does and gave it further positive effects.

I mean, if this was a thing and became popular, surveillance would become a new meta perk. And honestly I'm all here for it.

  • Because devoting 3/4 perks in your build as a solo survivor (Fixated, Spine Chill, and Iron Will) then trying to choose between Sprint Burst, Inner Strength, Kindred, or any other perk to counter a single killer in the roster is very practical. I get it, Iron Will is amazing and I use it in all my builds, and inner strength is gorgeous. But this doesn't exactly encourage build diversity does it?

Also if you get hit then F.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

The Nurse Nerf was 100% justified.

The Bugs need to be fixed tho.

I'd honestly disagree. Base-kit nurse was incredibly fun to face, adding in the recharge just made her easier to verse and even worse to play. Add-ons, I agree, needed a change, but the main kit was fine imo.

But hey, the bugs need to be acknowledged at least lol.

  • @metalklok said:

isnt legion considered one of the worst killers

Legion on release was even worse. Just because they're bad doesn't mean they're fun or engaging to face. Billy and Nurse are regarded as some of the best in the game yet facing them is a blast (usually).

guarantee that the killer will tunnel and never leave me on ground.

Unbreakable + DS. That's literally your answer. Throw on Sprint Burst, Iron Will, anything that makes you an unattractive target to chase. Inner Strength to heal up quickly maybe.

  • Survivor:

    Perks:

    Iron Will

    Sprint Burst

    Inner Strength

    Decisive Strike.

    Item: Rangers Medkit

    Addons: Gel Dressings, Surgical Suture

    Killer: The Nightmare

    Perks:

    Surveillance

    Surge

    Thrilling Tremours

    Pop Goes The Weasel

    Addons: Jump Rope, Nancy's Masterpiece

  • No mither.

    Unbreakable.

    Soul Guard

    Have a friend.

  • Happy birthday to dbd!!

I'm boring and mine is just "Happy Birthday" but as I'm learning German, I think you'd say "Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag!" (though if I'm wrong please correct me lol).

  • For everyone curios about the interaction with OoO and Undetectable here's how it works:

When the killer is on your screen, the perk icon will light up in the bottom right corner. Your aura is now being shown to the killer. You cannot see their aura, only know they're somewhere on your screen and also constantly moving.

    It's like premonition but better.

  • If you've dced 10 games out of 100, that's still 1/10 games every dc. That's not good, has ruined 1/10 of the matches you've played, and you should be rightfully punished.

  • @Poweas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1350719#Comment_1350719

Honestly, as an Oni main who runs Sloppy (I don't have the meta build yet) I'd abuse the change, but I'd also hate facing it as a survivor.

Inner strength would be the new meta if that change went through, rather ironically making the perk a whole lot weaker.

  • Old ds without a doubt. Sure it had a counter but one thing is missing about your comparison.

Old DS prevented you from getting pressure. New DS prevents you from gaining it. Old DS was active at the start of the game and couldn't be switched off until hit or missed. I've had games where all 4 survivors used DS and I didn't see it once (yet, ironically, I was still a tunneler lol).

New DS stop you re-hooking someone, whilst old DS stopped you getting a single hook early-game. Not to mention people may try to go down to froce you to eat their DS stun when you can then just slug them, even with unbreakable that's a while they're not doing anything and then they've also used their one-time use unbreakable that could save them the game in other scenarios.

Old DS was so much stronger than new DS is, and I'm so glad it got changed.

Maybe an issue arose in the mean time. I'd rather they take their time to fix it.

I mean, definitely. It's like the release of the archives. A bit of communication somewhere else would've been nice though.

If it's a potential issue of "this might be delayed but we'll see what we can do to make it on time" then yeah, sure, of course no communication needed. But if they're setting the date as October, then...

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Flashlights are already weak as they currently are. There are counters to flashlights, such as looking away(up or down), look at a wall when picking a survivor or even baiting them to come out and get a free hit.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1349789#Comment_1349789

"Flashlights are fine and much better than medkits, keys or toolboxes." that's a stretch

    Is it?

A team with medkits will be healing very quickly, meaning they'll be on gens more often.

A team with toolboxes will either be sabotaging hooks, forcing an extreme slug game, or want to do gens ASAP.

    A team with keys, well...

A team with flashlights will be following you all game, can be baited by standing still over someones body, won't be on gens, and can be easily countered with 2 perks.
