A Nurse's Calling. Apparently, It's a try hard perk (According to the Claudette that I kept downing with it).

I have 2 perks off the top of my head.

1 - Had 3 blendettes harass me on PS messages because they couldn't use their Self Care since I had Nurses Calling. Got mad that you couldn't use one of your perks? Imagine how Hex players feel once their totem(s) is broken!

2 - Everytime I run Rancor (sometimes with Nemesis), I either get "omg I was on edge the entire time" (my favorite because I feel the same way as survivor) or "lOl bABy kilLeR NeEdeD tHaT tO KiLL mE". Either way, it's fun to play cat and mouse.

Survivors who fall for Trail of Torment Every. Single. Time. are hilarious. I don't even play Killer and I find it funny. It's a good perk but it isn't, in any way, a crutch perk. lmao

  • imo it's Quentin. The creepiest thing about it is that it shows the player put MILLIONS of points into Quentin, not because they are prestiging every survivor but because they use him (otherwise you'd never see it). Spooky af.

  • I exclusively play Survivor. I do not think NoED should be nerfed.

I had my first match against a Forever Freddy earlier. That was the most agonizingly slow match I've ever had. I'd be 100% fine with them easing up his slowdown add-ons, especially since once he stacks them with the right perks, it basically takes you ten years to do a gen.

Forever Freddy doesn't even really exist anymore. Not that I'd be opposed to Freddy nerfs. But he's my least favourite Killer, so I'm biased.

  • They said when the first Rift was released that the cosmetics were timed exclusives and they would be sold in the shop eventually. We all knew this.

Besides, the rift is kind of new. Thinking that someone is part of the "older" playerbase because they cleared the first rift is hilarious, not going to lie.

  • Anyone who plays long enough will get to Red Rank (Survivor) easily. Survivor rank means little in terms of Skill. 🤷‍♀️

  • @Sluzzy said:

Survivor is the worst side to play because your chances of winning is strictly governed by how the killer plays. It has a much steeper learning curve than killer and your experience or effort has much less rewards than playing killer.

Killer is the more fair role to play because your skill matters. Git gud at it and you'll win 99.9% of your matches.

You can't say that about survivor. Winning as survivor is about luck and what perks the killer uses, his skill level.

"Winning as survivor is about luck and what perks the killer uses, his skill level." This honestly sounds like an excuse for bad Survivor play. There is definitely skill to playing Survivor, and that skill can make you extremely frustrating for the Killer.

  • People have been saying this forever, including when REsident Evil: Resistance was announced. And even during the time, it was being supported by Capcom.

"They recently confirmed that Resident Evil: Village will be released on May 7, 2021, just hovering around the dates of an official trailer and the fifth anniversary" Because DbD is so important that they decided to release RE: Village around the Anniversary and not around the same time they do every year for the past two years of Resident Evil releases? lmao

What do you mean by "any other competitive game"? I'm not used to see massive amounts of balance changes in competitive games, especially if they're mature.

Resident Evil: Resistance got (massive) changes like every month, with a bi-weekly Balance Patch. It's a mature game that got tons of balance patches. They were bad though, the game became basically unplayable.

The original version of DS had no wiggle bar requirement, no obsession requirement, and a five-second stun.

Nerf #1 was reducing the stun to four seconds.

Nerf #2 was adding the obsession mechanic, which gives the killer info about when DS might be in play, and which came with a wiggle percentage requirement for non-obsessions. This added an obvious counter for non-obsessions; just beeline for the nearest hook. In matches without an obsession, too, the killer knows that DS isn't in play and doesn't need to respect it.

Nerf #3 was the switch to the 60-second timer in exchange for pushing the stun back to five seconds. It is still abusable imo, but it can largely be avoided by not tunneling. Slugging is also a good counter, even if they have UB, due to the 60-second timer.

    ---

Enduring and Unnerving Presence were only soft counters and pale in comparison to the nerfs to the base perk.

How can you even act like the pre-rework version has any place in discussions about current DS. The perk functions completely differently now, and basically ignoring any buffs to the current version of DS while saying the perk has been nerfed because its previous version was nerfed is ridiculous. It was re-worked meaning the previous version is irrelevant.

Also, the change to DS was actually a buff to Aggressive play. You can force the Killer to waste time on you. It has little, to nothing, to do with tunneling.

DS has been nerfed three times already. I think it needs a fourth personally, but it's not really accurate to say they've done nothing.

    Nerfed? Three times? When?

It was reworked and then it was buffed three times. Once when they increased the stun time to 5 seconds from 3 seconds, and again when they made Enduring no longer work against it, and then again when Unnerving Presence no longer worked against it.

    Good point.

But now that the game is hosted on servers there should be a system in place that records games. For at the very least, catch hackers.

I dunno about you but I don't think BHVR has the time, resources, or desire to record every game. They should be recording them to catch bugs/hackers (instead of relying on the playerbase to provide recordings for them) but it doesn't really seem like they want to.

  • @SunderMun said:

Look, I've had plenty of grabs cucked by the servers, but I've also had plenty of times where I've been grabbed while running a good 2-3 seconds after I finished a fast vault.

This isn't an exploit; it's blind luck when it works in one's favour.

2-3 seconds? Where do you live?!?

  • A lot of people in this thread have more faith in BHVR than I do. They haven't directly stated they are changing the new HUD/UI anywhere (unless they did in the fire-side stream, something most don't watch) so I'm not sure how anyone believes they are.

If they do change it? Great. But I'm not expecting it.

Like I said, as a player I totally agree. But the last time they were transparent about their intentions regarding optimisation, it caused one of the biggest "devs are liars" blowups in the game's history because they were unable to turn their hopes into reality within the projected timeframe - and, to my knowledge, still haven't succeeded in that particular instance.

So I guess what I'm saying is I can see both sides. Particularly when it comes to things like accessibility options, I totally agree it would have been nice to hear something about it sooner - if not an explicit "we're working on it", then at least some more concrete assurance that they were taking it seriously and doing everything they could to find ways to make it happen. If they had done that, perhaps this whole incident with Almo could have been avoided, who knows. I've never been a Community Manager, and I've heard it's a lot harder than it looks, so I personally feel it would be presumptuous for me to tell them how to do their job. But at the same time, I can understand how situations like the one I mentioned above would make them hesitant to be transparent in their communication on any changes, just to be really safe. Not saying I think that's the right decision, just that I have some sympathy for it because I can see what led them to that conclusion.

Most of the blowup, at first, wasn't because they weren't optimizing it fast enough but because they had patches that would state "Improved optimization for consoles" or something along those lines and one of two things actually happened: 1. No frame change was obvious or 2. FPS was actually worse. It eventually turned into a "they are taking too long" thing but console is now much better than before, especially next gen (obviously).

    ---

Anyway, I do feel BHVR is secretive about things that don't really make sense and can easily let us know they are looking into things without giving an ETA. Most of the time they joke about how slow they are with changes, which is fine, but sometimes it kind of comes off as them not actually wanting to improve on how long things take. Many times during the Q&A they don't give much info at all for questions they answer.

  • "Like Overwatch and CSGO"

I shouldn't have to say more than: This is Dead By Daylight.

  • About the overcharge idea:

It doesn't matter what you do to it if this: (overcharged generators will have a electrical particle effect for the duration) becomes reality. This would make Overcharge basically useless. Survivors would know it's there and either avoid it, working another Gen, or work it knowing full well they are getting the Skillcheck so they've already prepared for it.

  • Mr. X wouldn't have worked because there was a competing game out that included him. It was specifically a Resident Evil game. He might be an idea to consider now that support for the game has ended. The same thing goes for Jason.

Chucky's size is an issue. Victor's isn't because he isn't the actual Killer. He doesn't take you to hooks, attack you and perks don't affect him.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/220047/will-we-have-a-ds-nerf-someday

You mean like these?.. How many times are you guys going to cry for a nerf? Simple solution is "Don't tunnel". DS/Unbreakable isn't even overpowered; it means you tunneled and had 1 player out of the game for 40+ seconds. They still have to recover, they have to heal, they aren't doing gens.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WV63TXXA66MK/image.png

Imagine thinking this list shows "nerfs" instead of a rework + buff to said rework. And also imagine thinking people who have DS don't play aggressively and try to force the Killer to deal with them (or even force a grab with a locker). It literally has nothing to do with tunneling.

  • Ethan said in one of his live streams when asked about it: "I don't care about DS." 🤷‍♀️

Have you ever played on Ormond? That's the true nightmare for Blight.

Around 70% of the map is unplayable for him, and we are talking about recently reworked map...

My fiance played the Blight and landed in Ormond. He was sliding everywhere and most things he slides along the side of, especially rocks (and there are a lot of damn rocks in Ormond), instead of bumping off them. I thought it was an add-on he was using (I don't play Killer) and it kind of was? He was running the Adrenaline Vial so his turning was greatly reduced but this doesn't affect the hitboxes, and running toward something seemed to have like a 50% chance that he'd bump off it. His other add-on was Compound Twenty-One so I was really confused.

It makes sense now, knowing that it is something other players have experienced.

  • Just noticed this is really old. Necroed thread lmao.

  • Yea, I feel the same. All negative for the event, the horror feel, and the chapter. Except for the character design of Elodie.

Strange how they didn't ask about the price of Legendary Cosmetics. 🤭

  • I still don't understand how it made it past the design phase with the placement of elements and the decision to not use the drawn survivor faces.

Basic game design tells you that as much information as possible should be visible with the least amount of eye movement as possible, as the player should be focusing on the game and not looking around for one piece of information. Early examples of this are Super Mario, Doom, Super Metroid, and Turok.

That is your opinion. Forcing players who spend good money on this to indulge toxic players who can't play and straight facecamp / tunnel should award no punishment.

They should reward you if you decide to put up with those suckers instead of punishing you for doing what a normal person does, and just ditch the #########.

People disconnected more often for other things including, but not limited too:

    1. Don't like the Map
    2. Mori
    3. Key
    4. Don't like the Killer
    5. First to be chased
    6. Failed a skill check
    7. Failed a chase
    8. Hooked first
    9. Multiple Gens done quickly
    10. Not enough Gens done

Those DCing due to toxic players were in the minority, and if it is so bad then just take the penalty. It's either better than the toxicity you want to dodge or it isn't.

  • It doesn't really matter. Once we as players get used to it the game loses basically all its ability to scare us. Every horror game is like this.

    @indieeden7 said:

I hope they don't resort to jump scares, they're extremely cheap.

Jump scares aren't even really horror. They cause your fight-or-flight response to "activate" and then "deactivate" immediately. After a jumpscare basically no one actually feels any fear.

  • 100% a bug.

Ethan said OoO is balanced (or even weak) so they aren't going to nerf it.

  • Very confused at how you consider him worse. The Tonic is literally the same.

He is current Clown with a faster Reload and the ability to move faster. I can think of ways to use the Antidote effectively just by thinking about it and all I do is play Survivor.

  • We have too many offerings (specifically green) and the webs are too large and expensive.

If they reduced the size of the webs, reduced the cost of everything by 500 or 1000 BP, and changed the rarity of map offerings to Iridescent (mainly to make Ultra-rare add-ons actually rare and make green add-ons/offerings easier to get) then I think it would be better.

    @bjorksnas said:

you can speed up the blood web pretty easily,

    hover over node 1

    hold m1

while holding m1 hover over to node 2

after node 1 is purchased click on node 2

    repeat basically doubles the speed

No one is talking about the actual process of buying things in it is the issue. Though honestly, I have 2 major issues with it. It takes too long to buy anything, even with the trick of what you list, and telling you about how to prestige when you complete a blood web at 50. Every. Single. Time.

  • Placing the Survivors in the upper left is so confusing. All the other information is at the bottom of the screen. It makes no sense.

You have to pay money for Inner Strength and you can only use it a max of 5 times. You also need to spend time doing the totem, so it's not an 8 second heal it's actually 24 seconds. You also need a locker, which makes you completely immobile while you heal. With Self Care you can relocate very quickly and easily if you need to and continue the heal. IS is all or nothing.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1849948#Comment_1849948

Visonary is actually very good for gen rushing and preventing a 3 gen. It's like a better version of Deja Vu. Desperate Measures is a strong healing perk. Built To Last is very good for toolboxes. Basically all his perks are good enough to just throw on a build, they just don't qualify as meta because they aren't so strong they single handedly win games.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1850039#Comment_1850039

    Right.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1849939#Comment_1849939

I said it's based on teachables. If you had to play with just a characters 3 teachables, who would be the best, and/or what survivor should you level first for their perks to make a build and/or how much of an impact do their perks have on the game.

Like Ace is quiet, but his perks are all complete ass. Ace In The Hole is the only one of value and even then it's not even that decent.

You do have to pay for it yes, that is an issue (since it's never been on the shrine).

Besides that cleansing a totem as a cost to heal is kind of a bonus since you should be cleansing them anyway. And once you do you have a quick heal you can carry with you until you need it. 24 seconds is still better than the 32 seconds it takes to flat self-care and it counters sloppy butcher.

If you ever had to heal yourself 5 times in a match and used Self-care for those 5 you are basically throwing the game.

Lower s tier is for s tier killers that require skill to play. Top is for the no skill ones

It's so weird seeing people say Spirit takes no skill when it is the exact opposite.

How does one play well as the Spirit if they are bad at tracking, predicting and mind gaming the survivors? Add on to that knowing how long her ability lasts + how to use her lunge correctly.

She takes as much skill as the Hag does and, honestly, probably more than the Oni.

  • @Marigoria said:

How is felix c tier? his perks are all garbage

Built to last is good if you use a high charge item. And Desperate Measures does what it needs to do and does it mostly well.

Visionary is the only perk I would consider garbage.

@thesuicidefox I don't see how Inner Strength is worse than Self Care (unless you take a medkit and botany) but Nancy's other two perks are just straight worse than Claudette's so I agree with this placement.

  • Add-Onless Trapper is literal garbage and basically just an M1 Killer since his power is so bad and time-consuming. With a few decent add-ons he can actually use his power but if no one steps in them you can;t snowball and you'll lose basically every game while wasting add-ons that make him an actual Killer. It's a lose-lose.

"Quite a bit faster" is strong wording here if you ask me.

A .6 increase is equal to a little more than 13%. I'd say this is closer to "barely" as the previous poster stated. Especially for a power with so many drawbacks.

  • @Claudette_Baguette said:

    "SeLfCaRe TaKeS ToO LoNg"...

Some guys are so dumb. If another survivor heals you it takes 16 seconds and 2 (!!!) survivors can’t do anything else.

If you selfcare you are ALONE and it takes 32 seconds and another survivor can sit on a gen. So its the same amount of time overall.... if another survivor only takes one second to get to you and heal you it's actually more efficient to selfcare since you can do it immediately.

And you are more versatile if you selfcare because spreading out is really important and another survivor can finish a gen while you heal yourself.

So stop the self-care hate, it also allows you to make plays (get out of the exit gate if everyone else left or killer is near it, save someone safely, etc) and... well you don't die in one shot and thus stay longer in the game which is the most important part.

I'd love if every of my teammates ran selfcare when I play solo survivor, they most of the time get ambushed by tinkerer or are unaware and die in one hit all the time or crouch in a bush waiting for someone else to show up and heal them... That's wasting time.

Your math doesn't actually work out. At all.

There's a difference between 2 survivors spending 16 seconds and one spending 32 seconds. They are not the same thing. A lot can happen in 16 seconds. Even more in 32. The main difference is that after 16 seconds you are both free to do what needs to be done. Otherwise for ~32 seconds you aren't doing anything. God forbid you heal yourself more than once a match. Healing yourself for over a minute is a losing move most of the time.

If someone pulls you off the hook it is immediately more effective and efficient for them to heal you right there instead of letting you go so you can find somewhere to heal. If you don't heal and go to a gen where another survivor is, they can heal you, and then you can both work the gen.

If you somehow think it is more efficient for you to heal yourself when another Survivor can heal then you don't understand this game at all. 32 seconds is a LONG time in DBD. Self Care can be useful but it is almost never worth the perk slot.

Take a Med-kit if you want to heal yourself. It's more efficient and effective. Or Inner Strength which is both more effective than Self Care in almost every way AND also gets you to clear totems.

  • So many Dead Hards. It's jank af and easy to bait out, sprint burst is a lot more annoying if you ask me.

Anyways, I would remove Object of Obsession for obvious reasons. Or Self-Care just because its annoying. Or Iron Will.

For Killers? Stridor if I removed Iron Will. Otherwise, I'd probably remove ... ??? I dunno tbh.

  • If they stay at Green rarity forever? Yes. This oversaturates this rarity tier and makes any single offering/add-on/tool in this tier rarer than any other rarity. It makes no sense and is overly confusing and frustrating.

  • The thing is though is that a lot of players don't care about pipping/ranking up anymore since Rank is meaningless. Those who hard camp/tunnel care even less because those actions already hurt your chance of pipping up. 🤷‍♀️

  • Legion needs a feral frenzy speed increase. Either in add-on form or a small base increase.

Either way, for a Killer who's whole thing is "run fast" they don't really run that fast.

  • Flashlights aren't even that hard to avoid if you know what you are doing. But sure let's get rid of something to make Flashlights even worse than they already are since they aren't Map-tier yet.

Or that he is so insanely easy to play.

I can probably teach my cat to play him. And once she got her first 4K, she decides to chase after her tail again, because Freddy was too boring for her to play with.

    This is pretty accurate.

  • Why would they cut any Killers? Reducing the variety would be a bad move on their part and many people would just continue to play DBD.

Also: "this might be controversial but I would remove those killers they are not very good even though nurse is strong she’s buggy and unfun to use and the others are just bad or unhealthy or the game. What are your thoughts?" And you list the Hag and Deathsling? lmao what?
