it's probably abandons not counting or something if I had to guess? IDK or DC's rather
That still doesn’t explain how Artist, a notoriously little-played killer, somehow has a higher pickrate than Wesker.
-
By the simple notion of Krasue’s recent release, I strongly doubt her pickrate is that low.
Either the sample size is way too small, or way too big.
Also Artist being no. 8 is wild. Ain’t no way Artist is played more than Wesker.
-
Awesome! Tthat's great news!
-
Splitting the actions would make more sense, methinks.
-
I think this is a bit skewed due to how new these still are, compared to the game's life.
There's a massive amount of players who dropped somewhere along the line, and are probably never going to attempt these, yet they're still counted for these percentages.

That’s… going to be forever though, huh?
Either the Merchant mains are unhappy, or the general playerbase is unhappy. Pleasing both is a fool’s errand. They need to make a choice in who they want to please.

So to come back on this topic for those who have not seen the live stream yesterday.
They did cancel the skin but they say that they are revisiting how they will bring Frank Stone to the game.
This could be actual a Chapter release but we will have to wait on further upcomming updates. That's interesting. If not a skin, then what other options besides a killer are there?
Surely he's not gonna be relegated to a few badges and banners?
-
Kinda takes me back to how they announced changes in the old days.
-
I'd honestly say the minimum should be a full week.
You can't ask players to bend over backwards just because you really want them to watch a certain stream that doesn't even reveal anything new.
-
I used to frequent the Klei forums, and they had public reactions. Effectively, they did both.
Those reactions aren’t up or downvotes, they’re just thematic emoji’s and gifs, based on community memes.
I think you could even choose to get notifs of who reacted to your post, though that’s probs a bit much.

They were suppossed to have changed it in patch 8.7.2:
Changed the match outcome for the following scenario to count as a loss for the Survivor (was a draw):Survivor abandons the match while all remaining Survivors are in the Dying state.
Ah, that weird ‘draw’ thing that nobody knows what to make of to this day.
Although I was moreso referring to any game with a DC not being tracked as far as stats go. They’ve been pretty consistent in their communication about that at least.Even if I think it’s weird.
Personally, I still think they should’ve been way more careful with the abandon mechanic. It’s opened up a whole can of worms of what is or isn’t an ‘unwinnable’ match, and the way it’s been implemented is far too broad for what it was supposed to address: extended slugging. But they can’t go back now, ‘cause players have already gotten used to being able to dip the moment they go down.
I still wonder whether the Finisher Mori wasn’t a better solution, since it also removes the awkward ‘clean-up’ phase for the killer.
-
Not to defend this, but wasn’t this known already?

It's unique to the player, yeah.

deathslinger got pretty massive buffs since the ads nerfs (that was completely deserved). Only thing i would change about him is return his tr back to 24m
Especially now with the M&A update, meaning that he can't have a TR that's less than the redeemer's range anymore, just because of the perk.

They’re purchasable with iri shards because they’re all old. If there were new void outfits, those would only be available for auric cells this year. I bought the Haddie and Yun-Jin outfits last Halloween for shards.
Ah, my mistake.
Still, though. The lack of orange clocks seems to indicate they’re here to stay.

That'd be inconsistent with how the icons are used. As OP wrote, the orange clocks indicate that the item will leave the store after a while, but the green one is just a temporary sale. These lack the former.
Also, this would also be the first time in quite a while that event-exclusives were purchasable with Iri shards.

1: That's already the case. Though, for whatever reason, BHVR seems hesitant to add killer bots. Which means that if you don't have anyone to play with, you can only 'practice' killer.
2: Other than numerical values like % chance to hit or miss skillchecks, I'm not sure what this would even look like.
3: Again, already the case. Though a freecam might be nice for customs. Definitely not for public matches, though.

We could say the same for your interpretation.
My "interpretation" is an ironic take on yours
I'd also refer to the fact that I'm not the only one saying this, as there have been a fair few forum veterans who were opposed to downvotes from the moment they were reintroduced as a "test".
Sorry, but I'm not impressed by a "some other people also said what I said" argument. Also what is a forum veteran? Is that a person that basically lives here, but just has a couple hundred hours ingame?
The thing is that downvotes do that in a negative, and frankly rather lazy manner, whereas upvotes do it in a positive manner, that also encourage posters to make well-thought out posts.
Just statements, no explanations.
- Why do downvotes "do that in a negative, and frankly rather lazy manner"?
- What is negative about a sign of disagreement?
- Why is it "lazy"?
- Why are upvotes doing "it in a positive manner"?
- Why do upvotes "also encourage posters to make well-thought out posts"?
Furthermore, when someone agrees… I'm not sure what you would expect someone to add? If you fully agree with someone, it's pointless to just repeat their, well points.
What if one agrees just partially? What if people upvote posts just based on who made the post? You're assuming that everyone behaves like yourself, which is a bold assumption. And btw. you could just reply and say "fully agree", but almost nobody does that (compared to how many upvotes some comments have).
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4006538#Comment_4006538
Did people like the bird, or the statement? We can't know it. But I already explained this on page 1.
If you don't agree, you need to say why. And not just click a button.
Who made that rule? Where can I read it? Is this in the forum rules? People are just making up arbitrary rules and expect others to follow them. Where is this attitude coming from?
Your interpretation of what's happening here is as follows:
I find it frightening that people are demanding a person should single-handedly disable downvotes. It shows that some people have a strange worldview, where whatever a vocal minority seems to have decided is immediately carried out with the stroke of a pen (spoiler: nothing has been decided).
To which I say that that's your interpretation of our request. I could go even further and say 'it's not that deep', but that feels in poor taste here. I'm not sure what you're referring to with an ironic take on mine.
Sorry, but I'm not impressed by a "some other people also said what I said" argument. Also what is a forum veteran? Is that a person that basically lives here, but just has a couple hundred hours ingame?
Ad hominem, but that aside. I should think that what defines a forum veteran has been exemplified in this very thread. Post count is an obvious indicator, though you can also ask individual users for their playtime. A few that have responded have a playtime that vastly exceeds mine, yet still agree with me here.
Why do downvotes "do that in a negative, and frankly rather lazy manner"?
I already exlained this: because it allows people to go 'I don't like this' without saying why, which doesn't help anyone. People need to be encouraged to actually express themselves.
What is negative about a sign of disagreement?
This again assumes that downvotes are only used to say the user disagrees. Personal experience tells me that people will downvote you for the most random reasons, however. Not to mention that the people caught up in the killer-v-survivor tribalism often dogpile certain posts that go against the grain. You want to know why they disagree, not just that they do.
Why is it "lazy"?
See above.
Why are upvotes doing "it in a positive manner"?
Because it's a positive thing to see your own opinion be put into words by someone else. Someone expressing the same feelings you've had, but that you've not been able to express yourself, or felt stupid for thinking. That's a positive, is it not? It's also a positive, because in these times of polarisation in just about every aspect of society, it encourages a more positive engagement with the community as a whole. Furthermore, it's nice to give and receive positive encouragement every once in a while, etc.. Quite a few phsycological positives here. The entire point of OP was that the forums have been become a negative space. What's wrong with encouraging more positvity?
Why do upvotes "
alsoencourage posters to make well-thought out posts"?Is this not self-evident? Who's going to upvote an incoherent, emotion-fueled rant? If you for whatever reason want to 'farm' upvotes, you need to at the very least be amusing. Even if you're just posting bait, you need to put some effort into it.
What if one agrees just partially?
Then they upvote, and expand on it. Or just say why they partially disagree. Nothing changes in this regard? You're on the forums to discuss topics, are you not? If you see something that you partially agree with, that means you also see something you disagree with. You're welcome to voice what part you disagree with. It's not like this is mutually exclusive.
Or even if they fully agree, they could very well just add "fully agree" in a comment. Nothing's stopping you from doing that, if you want to emphasise something. I don't see how this relevant to the removal of downvotes, though.
You reference my bird post again, so I'll just say that I am fairly confident that it is because of the bird. I'm probably best known on here for having a habit of posting birds. But people like 'em, and I like 'em. Does it contribute to the discussion? Certainly not. Though you'll also not see me spam birds everywhere. I post birds because it brings a little levity into an otherwise rather hostile platform. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say it makes people smile, but I've nevertheless had various people say that they like what I do. This bird in particular was a stand-in for a goodbye. Again, levity.
Who made that rule? Where can I read it? Is this in the forum rules? People are just making up arbitrary rules and expect others to follow them. Where is this attitude coming from?
That's… how debates function? Are we not here to discuss? There's obviously no written rule here, but that doesn't mean there's no unwritten rule. I dunno about you, but I was taught to explain myself in school. Didn't anybody ever ask you to 'clarify your answer'? They did that for a reason.

The thing is that because of the downvote button, people stop feeling compelled to share why they don't like this.
You say that as if it were a fact, when in reality it's just an interpretation. Your interpretation.
Also, if we apply that logic, that same logic, to upvotes, should we ask why someone upvotes? The thing is that because of the upvote button, people stop feeling compelled to share why they like this.
We could say the same for your interpretation. I'd also refer to the fact that I'm not the only one saying this, as there have been a fair few forum veterans who were opposed to downvotes from the moment they were reintroduced as a "test".
As for the upvotes being meaningless, I might not even disagree with that as a concept, tbh. Though it must be said that a community manager stated that they tend to see upvote counts as a method to gauge what the current hot topics are among the community.
The thing is that downvotes do that in a negative, and frankly rather lazy manner, whereas upvotes do it in a positive manner, that also encourage posters to make well-thought out posts.

I don't understand the need for people to have dramatic exits, I just can't grasp the concept. Nevertheless I wish you all the best.
I find it frightening that people are demanding a person should single-handedly disable downvotes. It shows that some people have a strange worldview, where whatever a vocal minority seems to have decided is immediately carried out with the stroke of a pen (spoiler: nothing has been decided).
It's awkward, the mindset of people trying to remove a way to express for OTHER PEOPLE how they feel about a topic or a statement. People seem to use the argument that if you downvote, you're obliged to explain why you downvoted. Why? Who made that rule? Is this a chapter in the Upvoters Handbook for Downvoters? Nobody seems to expect an explanation on an upvote. Kinda strange if you think about it, you could like something but for a completely different reason (again: which nobody asks for, but when it's a downvote, then it's asked for). Or maybe you only agree partially. Maybe you just like the style of a post. Doesn't matter, right? For upvotes, there are different "rules". Yeah, it doesn't make sense. Ok ok ok, but anyway, when can we remove downvotes?
Take this comment as an example:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4006538#Comment_4006538
Did people upvote because they like the "The downvotes should never have returned" comment or because they just like the bird picture? It's not clear. Simple as that. Ok ok ok, but anyway, when can we remove downvotes?Upvotes can be as ambiguous as downvotes. A fact nobody wants to see or mention. Enough with the facts, let's bash downvotes. Let's call for their removal. dOwnvoteS aRE juST promOTing ToxIciTY ANd nEGATivIty AnYwaY.
We almost forgot the elephant in the room: one does not remove "negativity" by removing a downvote button. That's not how it works. There are reasons why people do not agree, and they should be able to (even if you think they should not). There could be underlying issues that make people downvote and those would need to be addressed and solved. Applying your own logic, you'd literally be removing the symptom instead of the root cause. But apparently, that's a big thing in today's society, which is: make the symptom invisible so we don't even have to acknowledge that there is a root cause. Ok ok ok, but anyway, when can we remove downvotes? Seriously when?
Downvotes should never have been removed to begin with. I appreciate upvotes and downvotes. I consider both as interaction.
So you have a great day. And by the way, you can always just downvote this response. After all, it's your right (for now), and I would never even try to take that away from you. Despite the fact that some people want to take it away from me and other likeminded people.
We almost forgot the elephant in the room: one does not remove "negativity" by removing a downvote button. That's not how it works. There are reasons why people do not agree, and they should be able to (even if you think they should not). There could be underlying issues that make people downvote and those would need to be addressed and solved.
That's all well and good, but the vast majority of the time, the downvote is used as a mere "I don't like this" button. No one's saying people can't disagree on things, that's why we have a forum to begin with. The thing is that because of the downvote button, people stop feeling compelled to share why they don't like this.

Absolutely agree. I’ve been around these forums long enough to remember their removal way back when and that they said they would “never” bring them back. I don’t understand why they’ve reverted course.
All it does is foster negativity and discourage discussion, which is antithetical to a discussion board. Seriously, the number of times I’ll try and offer a measured opinion and get hit with 5, 10, 20+ downvotes but zero replies is so demoralising. Like what happened to the actual discussion? Everyone just downvotes and moves on.
Not to mention that, for whatever reason, threads that get some arbitrary amount of downvotes simply do not get pushed back up anymore.
Like, that's borderline censorship?

They're punishing it like a ranked PVP game, even though it's not. I think they're trying to send a message too. Either way, it's totally inappropriate. Players with a higher penalty weren't playing the game anyway and had to wait a few days for the timer to reset.
Wait I’m confused.
The way I understood what you’re saying is that, in an extreme case, a player with say a 72h penalty would need to keep their PC running for 3 full days?? On such a demanding game??‘Cause that’s absurd. But now I’m not sure if that’s what you meant.
