As long as we get a new map this time, it can be literally anything.
-
Mr.X, Nemesis, or Dimitrescu as killer.
Probably Leon or Claire as survivor. Or both. Jill is also a possibility.
-
Too late, pal. I am already too excited to think about possible problems.
-
Well, not exactly. My Dream chapter (intended pun) released back on October of 2017.
-
Hell yeah, I got this one right! The hype is real, my friend. The hype is real!
-
I think it probably was Capcom's decision. BHVR would probably wait a little bit more, if they could.
-
Yes, he is. And, honestly, that doesn't surprise me.
-
Yes, maps should be darker. But not in order to help survivors or killer. Maps should be darker because bright maps do not look like DBD at all.

You main the most hated characters in the game lmao after nea & spirit ofc
But yeah i wish freddy was framed and NOT being a pedo
"You main the most hated characters in the game lmao after nea & spirit ofc"
Well, I try my best to change their reputation and be the nicest Freddy main / Claudette main DBD has ever known.

Isn't freddy a pedo? Why would you be friends with a pedo lmao
In the original script for the Remake, Freddy was actually innocent and was framed for such terrible crimes. I consider it my own headcanon for him because it makes his story much better.
And besides, Freddy and Claudette are my mains.
-
Swingrowers - Midnight
Not sure if it is on Spotify, but it is worth checking it out. A very fun song.
-
Freddy and Claudette. They are my babies <3 I love them.
-
Old Freddy was a solid Mid Tier if you knew how to play him.
Ghostface is miserable to go against.
Pig doesn't need a full rework, but her previous nerfs should be reverted.
Myers isn't outdated.
Twins are overrated, including those that play with "scummy" tactics.
-
Most people have already suggested it, but I think Whispers is an excellent choice. I consider Huntress my "secondary main", even though I am terrible with her, and this perk helps a lot.

Bring back old Freddy but keep the teleport and the old addons + the teleport addons
Agreed. Old Freddy with Dream Projection. What a sweet combination!
-
As a long time Freddy main, I definitely agree. Although I don't dislike current Freddy, his old power was way more fun and a rework was unnecessary, not to mention extremely unfair to Old Freddy mains. All he needed were a few buffs and QoL improvements.
And now, we are doing our best to get our old killer back.

No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No.
I know a lot about DbD. I am a massive hypernerd. I love the numbers and I live the mechanics and I understand how they work and how they mesh together. Or how they don't mesh together. I'm like if you took an RPG minmaxer but they minmax random, weird shite that makes no sense and isn't useful at all.
That's my only real skill at this game. I know things real well. I'm not that good - okay, maybe as Blight, Legion and Plague, but none of the rest, and certainly not as survivor. I know things and that carries me but otherwise I'm pretty average. And yet I'm almost always in red ranks.
Technically, I am the same. But instead of learning about numbers and mechanics, I love to learn about the game's history. From old offerings to broken builds in the past, I love to learn about everything.
But, like you, that is my real skill. Other than that, I am pretty bad and definitely shouldn't be in Red Ranks. Sometimes I just do random stuff in-game and hope it works.
-
It has the potential to be scary again, but right now it definitely isn't.

I really hope this can get big enough for the devs to notice. Maybe, just maybe it doesnt have to be like this, loosing hope for my old love and only despair to follow. Maybe there is a shimmer of hope left. A small ray of light that shines in the dark.
I can say the same, my friend. If there is a chance of us getting our old killer back, I will take it. It is worth the shot.

I loved old Freddy, he was unique and had his own playstyle, different from anybody else. New Freddy just feels bland, like every other Killer.
I also find old Freddy to be way more fitting to A Nightmare on Elm Street. Only being able to attack sleeping survivors.
New Freddy lost his identity, in my eyes he is just like every other Killer and his flair is gone.
Same, my friend. One of the best things about Old Freddy was how unique he was, compared to the rest of the roaster.
I don't dislike his new power, but I would gladly leave it behind to play as Old Freddy again. I just want my main back.

Yes please, i rarely played Freddy after his change, even though he got stronger in general. He got more brain-dead as well. You only need to do the same stuff over and over again with new Freddy. Hook someone teleport to the gen thats being repaired with pop, kick it, chase the survivor/s that repaired the gen, rinse and repeat, place traps in the same spots on every loop and you are good to go.
I suspect BHVR has so much chaos in their assets/data that they probably cant manage to find and or implement old Freddy. Even though it wouldn't be that hard to bring him back. My view on their work ethic is declining day by day.
Although I never stopped playing Freddy, I know exactly how you feel. I still remember my first match with his new power, and everything just felt wrong.

I think the clock change was overkill. It wasn’t needed.
The change to snares was needed. I thought it was way too easy for him to place puddles while walking at normal speed.
I don’t understand who these developers are listening to for feedback anymore.
Same. At this point, there isn't a single balance change that I can understand.

The one thing I would keep about current freddy is fake pallets other than that I would love old freddy back with numer tweaks
I would rather keep Dream Projection, to be honest. Old Freddy with such mobility would be sweet!
-
My turn. Allow me to share with you a very old picture, which tells a macabre tale.
I present to you: "The Legend of the 5 survivors!"
-
Yeah, I know how it is. If there is one thing I absolutely despise, are fast-paced trials. And they happen way too often.

I loved and mained old Freddy back in the days. Was his power a bit weak? I mean, before they increased the time it took to Self Care then yes he was weak when Self Care was meta. Old Freddy was more entertaining to play as and against compared to new Freddy who spams snares or drops dream pallets like nobodies business. I wish there was a way to play him again :(
And there might still be one! Maybe the devs won't listen to us, maybe they will. It is worth the shot.

That's something I didn't mention but am also mad about. So not only does Victor still get kicked after a successful down on someone, but he's vulnerable for 5 whole seconds now. He did not need that. What he needed was a change so that he didn't override Dead Hard, and also more accurate kick timing for the survivors, because it seems like they would be halfway through the kick animation and then it would get cancelled. This time increase on his vulnerability I feel is just a plaster fix so that it's less likely we'll see that janky-looking cancelled animation. I recently started having fun with Twins too, but if these changes go live they're gonna be as bad and have as many drawbacks as Trickster.
At this point, there isn't a single balance change that I truly understand.
-
YES! Spread the word, my friend. It is time for us to get our old killer back!

Claudette, Kate and Meg are the ones I play most.

I am a 60/40, to be honest. Playing killer is way more fun than playing survivor, in my opinion.

What I don't get is why BHVR is so committed to making Freddy not work. It used to be he didn't do anything and had to wait 10 seconds to use his basic M1. Now that he has actual powers, that already aren't even always available, they've also thrown a +30 second total immunity from his powers to survivors.
Just let Freddy function like a normal killer! You don't see other killers having to deal with this kind of stuff, like survivors dousing themselves and anti-chainsaw lube.
Actually, it was 7 seconds of Dream Transition, which could be reduced with add-ons. And total invisibility to awake survivors. And 50% reduced action speed in the Dream World, which could reach 90% with add-ons and perks (including old Dying Light). Old Freddy was not the best among killers, but he had his advantages.
And his new nerf hurts him. It is not enough to make him garbage, but it does hurt.

Regarding Huntress, the flight speed add-ons, even when you combine yellow and brown together, are better than windup add-ons. So no, all of her good add-ons aren't nerfed into the ground or rare (she also still has double cooldown addons).
Also if you thought 90 seconds of Exhaustion were in any way fair and not a relic of the past I'm gonna have to ask you to just not think.
Edit: also regarding small game they buffed swf and nerfed solo with this. Swf can coordinate a build and ensure one person has the perk and the other 3 are free to use whatever perks they like whilst solos run the risk of someone else using the perk and it being effectively useless as they know that someone else will be doing totems too. Good job devs you ######### it up again.
90 seconds of exhaustion was fine, in my opinion. But then again, the only exhaustion perk I use is Sprint Burst, so it doesn't really affect me.
-
Because killers are clearly OP.
/s
-
I agree with pretty much everything you've said about Freddy. I don't exactly think that he was "fine", but that is just me being salty that I cannot play as Old Freddy.
As for his "new add-ons", they are literally useless. I've tested them and it was the same thing as playing without add-ons. One of the worst changes I've ever seen.
As for the other changes, I don't even know what to say. Lucky Break OP, Demogorgon nerfed, Victor Decisive Striking himself, Coldwind problems were not fixed, Breakable Walls... It is sad, to be honest.

Thank you I try my best to be as entertainingly accurate as I can be
Then let me tell you: you've succeeded.
And I agree completely with what you've said. To be honest, I miss the old visuals, especially Old Lery's. I cannot believe I will never see them in-game anymore.
-
In my experience, it is literally the opposite. Most people don't take the PTB seriously, and just mess around for a little bit before DCing.

It used to be pretty killer sided until... it came about. Corrupting our youth and killing our elders, the Curse of the Map Rework strikes once per major update. It takes what we love and twists them into something... worse.
The Game was hit particularly hard. We tried to save what we could but... it was never the same. Changed. A stranger where a beloved map for stealth killers universally (oh, and the Nurse too) used to stand.
"Corrupting our youth and killing our elders, the Curse of the Map Rework strikes once per major update. It takes what we love and twists them into something... worse."
This is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best and most accurate description of map reworks I've ever seen!
Well done, my friend.
-
It isn't.... not anymore. Old Game was a blessing for stealth killers and one of the deadliest maps in DBD. Now, it is just pallet town 2.0
If you want to make it killer sided, you have to get rid of most of the pallets, so the map becomes a little bit similar to its original version. But it is not that easy to do it during a trial.
-
If you wish to know the opinion of a long time Freddy main:
-Reduced movement speed while placing snares is a good change. It actually brings him somewhat closer to killers such as Trapper and Hag.
-Reduced the maximum number of pallets and snares is a weird change, to be honest. I can see it working for Snares, since it prevents you from literally spamming them during a chase (something that you should never do). But pallets are not that strong, and they do not give you any advantages until the very last second when a survivor drops it. Reducing the number of pallets is overkill.
-Alarm clocks tweaks are pointless, in my opinion. I mean, you don't have time to actually protect them, and it is very possible that you will take longer than 30 seconds to find a survivor that just woke up.
-Add-on changes are extremely bad. Black Box is now a joke, and why on Earth, or Entity's realm, would you use an add-on that makes actions louder? If you want to counter Iron Will, there is Stridor and a generator being repaired is a loud action by itself.
-No option to play as Old Freddy = sadness

It didn't happen with mories though because they got a stealth change.
Although I'm 100% sure this isn't happening with keys, so next midchapter is going to be a 4 keys every match.
My mistake then, but I certainly remember people going nuts with Moris. Maybe it was something else.

Yeah, I was afraid this was going to happen. Same thing thing happened with Insta-Heals and Moris. Very painful times.

Yeah, she barely released I've already seen toxic players. Same thing happened with Yui, in my experience.

No but breaking the meta by introducing an even more powerful perk that the current meta can be a problem. When the current meta is already very powerful. I still have Mettle of Man flashbacks.
Did you really have to mention old MoM? Now I am going to have flashbacks.
On a more serious note, I agree. Shifting the meta by buffing weaker perks our introducing new ones is a good idea, but it must be done carefully. Some things just literally break the game.
