God Old Ormond I’ve heard the horror stories of that place
People tend to exaggerate their stories about Old Ormond far too much.
Was it survivor sided? Extremely.
Was it any different then what we are used to? No.
Was it impossible to win there as killer? Nope.
Ormond was the newest map in the game when I started playing, and I got it many times, both as survivor and killer.
I would choose it over New Ormond without thinking twice.
-
Map reworks were a huge failure that destroyed what we loved and ruined everything they touched but, among these monsters, The Game really stands out as one of the worst.
This map used to be a paradise for stealth killers, filled with dangerous areas while also giving Survivors resources to survive. It was also one of my favorite maps.
And now...now the map looks like #########, and its balance can be resumed as "worse than the older old Blood Lodge, A.K.A Pallet Town".
Why, devs?
Why?
-
First of all, let me tell you that it warms my heart to see the pre-rework icons that you used, but it disheartens me to see that Léry's (my favorite map) is the only one that has a reworked icon :(
Second, here is mine:
It is pretty similar to yours, but there are one or two differences that I think it is worth looking at.
I know I am missing a few maps, but they are irrelevant since their ranking on my list would be the same as their ranking on yours. Also, this was done thinking about their reworked versions (which wasn't pleasant at all), so take that into account too.
-
MMR has countless problems, obviously, but 3.1.0 and the infamous 1.9.2 will always be the worst Patches, imho.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I really miss them. I still get confused on the current maps for some reason. I should know them but they feel so wrong.
So do I, my friend.
And I dare say I miss the old maps more than anyone ever will.
They really ought to come back, as unlikely as it is.
If only it was up to me...

Why? He looked like a goblin.
He looked the way he should look: tired, sleep deprived.
Quentin's old model might have displeased his actor, but it was extremely faithful to what the character should be. Not to mention that his P3 with Freddy's claw marks was easily the best in the game.
Additionally, he was my first DLC Survivor and I mained him for a very long time.
I will always cherish that survivor. Always.

Well in the endgame where you've closed the hatch, the only objective you really have is to patrol the exit gate switches, what else is the killer supposed to do?
As survivor most of the time there just isn't enough time to open the gates so the only option not to get killed is to hide.
Both of those shouldn't be bannable offenses...
Again, that is why I said each case would be looked at ;-;
What the Survivor could do is: try one of those strategies to open the gate, or search for a key in a chest, for example.

every time mmr decides that i deserve to face these people as killers im learning (yes my level 32 demo will be perfectly suited for this task) it's just one more reason for me to quit, uninstall, and never look back
Wanting to leave the Fog is a feeling which I know far too well, my friend.

So survivors would have to go to the exit gates where's there's no hope otherwise they will get banned? I think that's a terrible alternative...
Uhhhh...no?
Killers and Survivors would only get banned if they were actively holding the game hostage.
That is why people would carefully look at those reports and analyse each case.
-
The Entity is not one for forgiveness, my friend.
It gave you the rightful punishment for your sins.

Yeah but without endgame collapse in that scenario the survivor could just hide forever, you want that?
They could, alternatively, make "holding the game hostage" a highly bannable offense and hire people to look at those reports specifically.
It is easily within BHVR's capacity and budget to do it, and in my honest opinion it is better than the EGC.

The thing is, people back in the day had no incentive to Prestige. They played the game, suffered the enormous Bloodwebs, and Prestiged because they genuinely enjoyed the game, wanted to support it and see it succeed.
There was a very short period of time (a couple of weeks iirc) between the announcement of Legacy and the cut off date. The majority of players who have Legacy didn't Prestige specifically for it, but for the reasons I mentioned above.
Making Legacy a permanent reward for Prestiging removes literally everything unique about it. It just becomes another piece of Prestige gear, just glowing instead of blood. Removes the whole point (wouldn't make sense to be called Legacy either), and just spits on the players who actually earned them back in the day.
The only players who should get Legacy now are ones that actually used to have them but lost them to the glitch you mentioned. No one new should get it because that would defeat the whole point of it being 'Legacy', and fortunately the developers seem to agree with this assessment (as they have mentioned time and time again over the years).
As I've said, my friend, this suggestion isn't mine.
However, if actual OG players supported it, I believe it should be introduced like this.

I like this idea I'd also like to suggest removing the cap off BPs to help since it's a different version of legacy.
I believe it should be the same Legacy, within the same circumstances.

Hatch: The version where it spawns before the endgame so also the key is actually a way to escape.
Toolboxes: Yes, completely reverting all their nerfs. Sabotage is also basically useless now. It needs buffed.
Decisive Strike: All the way back so the obsession is actually meaningful, and decisive strike was actually decisive. It is not a decisive strike now no matter how much the devs want to claim it is. You shouldn't lose it for playing the game either.
Yes, great skill checks should give a little progress bonus for hitting a hard skillcheck. It basically gives no reward now which was an unhealthy nerf.
Endgame can be deleted. It just favors killers too much. What do you do when a Huntress stands on a hill and can see both exit gates? That's a lose lose situation for survivor. It's unhealthy when you basically have to walk up to the killer and asked to be killed.
I see.
Though I have a few objections, be assured that your ideas have been noted, my friend.
I am confident we would reach an agreement.
-
I believe Legacy should be available for everyone to earn, instead of giving it for free.
Perhaps after you reached P3, you would get the option to Prestige again, but for Legacy cosmetics instead of the regular bloody prestige ones that you've already collected.
However, that also meant that your Bloodweb would be the same from 2016, and your Bloodpoint gains would be reduced. Earning Legacy just like the OG players did sounds fair in my book.
And no, this suggestion isn't mine. I actually heard it from a Legacy owner who lost it because of the devastating "loss of progress" glitch that happened back in the day.

Bringing me back to the old days there! I like it! What if instead of opening the gates you had to light a giant charcoal grill that took the same time as the opening animation and opened the gate when the flame was fully ignited lol the game needs to bring stuff like this back and add a few changes like you suggested
You will never find someone as old-fashioned as I am, my friend. Taking people back to the old, better days was indeed the intention :)
At the very least, I think it would be nice if a "burning" sound effect played when you opened the exit gate, kinda like that sound effect when you hooked a survivor on a Grill Hook.

The only thing I miss from that time, is the community not being nearly as hostile
That is why I said it would surprise you.
I assure you that it would (will) be an extremely fun experience, for both killers and survivors.
And that, obviously, includes you.
-
Believe it or not, this isn't as bad as it seems.
-
This sounds like fun! (TL;DR in the bottom)
Alright, so my event would be called:
Infernal Summer BBQ.
Veterans and old-fashioned players might find the name a bit familiar, and they are absolutely correct! My event would be a direct sequel to the legendary Scorching Summer BBQ event, which took place between 7 and 23 August 2018.
It wold also take place in August.
Menu
The very first features of the event would be the menu itself and the theme. Both of which can be found on this video right here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypPGg8borKw&ab_channel=AeulasTo honor its predecessor, the Infernal Summer BBQ would use the same menu and theme that the Scorching Summer BBQ used, all the way back in 2018.
In-game changes
The Infernal Summer BBQ would re-enable the following assets:
1-) Grill Hooks, which would highlighted in a blue aura:
2-) Frozen Cocktail Machine Generators
3-) BBQ Invitation Offering:
Challenge
The Infernal Summer BBQ would feature personal Challenges that require the Player to collect special Tokens in order to unlock the Cosmetic Rewards.
Each Map spawns with 2 Frozen Cocktail Machines and 2 Grill Hooks by default.
The Player can to find and burn a Offering called the BBQ Invitation, calling upon The Entity for additional Machines and Hooks, up to a total of 7 Machines and Hooks.
The Player earns Frosty Margaritas and Survivor Chops when they fix Frozen Cocktail Machines or hook Survivors for the first time on Grill Hooks. They also gain bonus Bloodpoints for doing so, even though Survivors will be unable to earn 7 Frosty Margaritas in a single trial due to the limit of only 5 Generators being fully repairable. However, the bonus Bloodpoints gained from completing a Frozen Cocktail Machine are global and awarded to all Survivors. All other bonus Bloodpoints are awarded post-trial during the tally screen and only if the Player had burnt a BBQ Invitation.
A Blood Hunt would last for the entire duration of the event.
Rewards
The rewards are the trickiest part. First of all, I would like for the rewards to be a full collections instead of singular pieces, like The Hallowed Blight. Players would be able to earn enough tokens for 2 full outfits.
Second, I wouldn't like them to be "beach" themed. Instead, I would like my rewards to be close to the "Scorching / Infernal" theme. Things like these 2 cosmetics right here:
And I believe that is it! That, my dear friends, is the event that we never got in 2019.
That is the Infernal Summer BBQ.
TL;DR: A sequel for the 2018 Scorching Summer BBQ event, with a Blood Hunt and more rewards.
-
This game is only "beyond repair" if it stays in BHVR's hands.
They do not know what must be done to fix it.
But I do.

The hatch, toolboxes, decisive strike, balanced landing.
Revert the unnecessary nerf where you get a slight reward for hitting a great skillcheck.
Add in more pallets to fix the deadzones. Maps are generally too killer sided now.
Endgame collapse.
Ok, there are quite a few things here to cover.
The Hatch:
Which version of it? The one we had until recent Patches or the older Hatch mechanics?
Toolboxes:
I presume you mean reverting their change.
Decisive Strike:
Uhhh...Which one of its 6 versions would you like to see in-game again?
Balanced Landing:
Agreed.
"the unnecessary nerf where you get a slight reward for hitting a great skillcheck."
You mean this one?
Add in more pallets to fix the deadzones
Tbh, I would prefer full map reversions instead of that, but mostly because of the visuals.
Endgame collapse.
You mean deleting it? If so, then I am happy to have found someone who shares my thoughts on the matter.
Now, I don't think those things could be simply reverted without compensations for the killer side. However, it is nice to see the things you actually want for the game.
Now I am confident that, if (when) DBD belonged (belongs) to me, I can make you and everyone else happy.
-
Nah, Iron Will doesn't need a nerf.
It never did and never will.
-
From what I've heard...yes, but barely.
Still, I haven't played as nor against this current Spirit and, most likely, never will. At least not in the near future.
So what I've said is based on other people's analysis.
-
Are there any survivor changes you would like to see reverted?
EDIT: Please answer this time :(

And here you prove exactly the problem with DbD today, survivors dont want to adapt or learn new techs, they want every single killer to be loopable all day, run around like headless chickens around a structure with little chance of the killer to do something about it.
Anti loop killers nowdays are a must, survivors need to be literally kicked out of their confort zone and try new things, much like killers who constantly have to adapt to new perks and metas. If anything whe need more killers that hard shut down diferent aspects of the game to make each trial more interesting aside from "hi hi ha ha i loop killer all day".
Whe need more anti loopers, more anti gen rushers, more anti stealth ones and so on, killers that can put heavy preassure on every diferent tactic, THAT would make the game way more interesting as every trial would have a diferent flavor and way of be played.
We already have enough of them.
It is alright to have a few killers with the "anti-loop no mobility" kit, but this should've stopped after Pyramid Head's release.
Now it seems to be the only thing that we are getting, and this is definitely not good. No wonder why people call many recent killers "boring", myself included.
-
This is not that bad, actually.
Just please change this disgusting reworked Shelter Woods picture for the old one.
-
Not, it wasn't.
However, do not forget that BHVR also nerfed Billy, nerfed Freddy within a week of his release, nerfed Twins, almost nerfed Demo's best add-on, and this list goes on.
Unnecessary changes are their specialty.
-
Anything that is done with the sole purpose of annoying the other side.

I underestimated the fallout from the NFT situation, as I imagine the devs did as well.
Though I've only been around here for something over a year I've seen so many disappear for one reason or another. But that issue seemed to be that proverbial last straw.
My few interactions with Boss were fun & awesome and usually insightful, and now are kinda treasured.
I'm slowly learning to remember all interactions now both positive and negative, believing the root of the dispute is still passion for this game & its potential. But hug your dear ones, we rarely get a goodbye we would want, if we get one at all.
On a side note i would still like to see @Pulsar as Console President, @bm33 as Executive VP, and perhaps @Shaped as VP in charge of Mountain Dew Procurement. @GoodBoyKaru will keep us honest, and @GeneralV will keep us together.
Me keeping the community together?

I started to get bored of Freddy ever since I realized how boring his chases were.
You put a snare at a loop, force the survivors to go through it. You either get a hit or they leave.
The only thing I liked and thought was cool was the dream projection.
I think it would be great if he just had his sleepiness meter reworked and a different chasing ability.
All we need is his on-release version, my friend.
It is all we need.

Anti-loop killers are extremely displeasing, imho.
I don't mind having one or two, but current DBD has way too many of them.
I like loops. I am from a time when the absolute majority of the cast could be looped in the regular manner, and I would've liked if it stayed that way.
