If the hatch is closed once, it shouldn't be able to open again. Would get rid of some major problems with keys.

I’d recommend watching streams or youtube videos of the killers before buying them so you have an idea if you’d like their playstyle or not.
The best killer is the one you enjoy playing as.
That's totally right. I don't enjoy spirit at all, so i don't play her. I enjoy legion, so i play them.

Leatherface used to be at the top of the list of killers I hate playing against, now Spirit is at the top. She has the ultimate mind game strategies and her only flaw is that she's a bit slow. Her passive phasing add-ons makes her even more confusing. Idk, all I go against are majority Spirits and I'm just getting tired of it.
One side of me wants a phasing start-up animation from the survivor perspective to know when she's using her power but I know DBD players will probably hate that to even the playing field.
Any good, respectful tips?
Use "Spine Chill". It's one of the best perks against spirit and literally all stealth killers.
-
It's big brain. Not as much as running only "Thrill of the Hunt",, but pretty good.
-
Never. It' toxic and annoying.
-
Honestly Spirit. She's the only one left after the upcoming nurse massacre on tuesday.

show me gameplay
How m8. Just stun the killer with the pallet and run to the next one. I don't think i need to explain basic looping to you.

Trapper requires set up I use Corrupt Intervention instead on him. Honestly I dont think I ever used ruin on him now that I think about it.
Ruin with darkend traps plus Corrupt works well for me.

In combination with duration addons, sloppy and nurses it's pretty lit.

Try Discordance over STBFL that's my ideal build I just haven't got it in a non top tier killer yet.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/774519#Comment_774519
I promise you can do it man with practice, experience, and time, but it is not a easy feat. How long it might take you might be 2 weeks or 3 years, but if you keep trying you can eventually.
I dropped Ruin for several reasons build variation was the biggest. Though the fact ruin is not useful against the survivors I wanted it against was another big factor. So my thought process was "if ruin is useless against who I want it against what's next?"
Dropped it on Nurse too, but only because it's Nurse. On Trapper? Never.
-
Depends on the killer honestly.

I haven't used BBQ&C or Ruin outside of farming in matches for well over a year honestly. When I farm I use those both because it means I can make the game take longer aka more BP.
On PC I play exclusively killer at red ranks except on rank reset. I'm sure at some point I have dealt with sweaty SWF or survivors in general. They just dont matter enough for me to care.
On PS4 I play killer at any rank and am not nearly as try hard. I mostly enjoy survivor on PS4 since almost all my friends play PS4 version of DBD.
Top tier or low tier survivors I have put my time in on learning without those 2 perks. Yes I failed a lot of the time at the start, but I decided I personally didnt want to be limited in my builds. So over the course of time I realized both of these perks created bad habits as a killer. Realizing this I basically started from scratch and relearned killer.
As long as you dont Tilt easily playing without Ruin is honestly very easy. If you Tilt easy and get annoyed over petty stuff. Then honestly its possible, but Ruin might be a better alternative. Nowadays if I use Ruin it feels borderline abusive because it turns it pretty easy.
Against really good teams i don't get a use out of ruin. But most times there's one potato that can't hit ruin skillchecks so it's worth it after all. Teams that hit greats without problems, you can't win against em with non viable killers.

do u preffer hopping back and forth on pallets because someone wont break it? like ######### lmao
If you dropped it early cuz u scared then that happens yes. Usually nlt happens to me as survivor.
-
Keys, as broken as moris. I would've liked to see a nerf to keys instead of instas.

I do both regularly with killers that are bottom tier without ruin or bbq.
But not against top tier survivors. Usually in such rounds arr one or two weaklings.

Props to those killers (apart from nurse and spirit) who can win against a genrushing-looping SWF team without ruin (like 1% or less of the killers)
If you define winning by a 4k, yes they can. If you define winning with pipping, no the cannot.

seriously it takes alot of mental fortitude to not dc as a survivor on hawking. any anti looping killer aka clown doc spirit etc makes life miserable on that map just due to bloodlust/their abilities. its unfun and its skilless. sure balanced landing can be decent on there but eventually they WILL get you. looping/mind gaming isnt skill anymore with these layouts. its just hold W as a killer and stack bloodlust.
Skillless huh? I mean i prefer unsafe pallets as survivor and killer, because it's not as boring as running around some tiles forever, because it's no mindgame.
-
She's good as she is. She can end chases very quickly and counterplay is heavily supported by specific perks. That's what a good killer is about.
-
gg wp my friend!
-
It's Plague. Actually it's plague.
-
I think they need skill to be used and can break the Bloodlust of a killer if you are in a longer chase. The addons need to be reworked tho.
-
I would love to see a potent alternative to Ruin, but there's just none. Ruin is a crutch, nobody likes it, everybody uses it.
-
I'm currently purple after rank reset and i keep getting green and yellow mates. I mean i pip but i never escape or got the possibility to escape.
-
Good change, dc penalties on top and the hatch mechanic won't be that bs.

Yeah a lot of adjustments too. I think some of the Altruism perks need a little bonus for the person using them. Babysitter could provide some bonus BPs so it has some benefit to the owner of the perk. And some perks need an adjustment to the conditions needed to work, like Diversion.
Yeah smth like that!
-
Seems like some good changes. Survivor perks need some buffs too tho.
-
Most killers are playthings for good survivors. You got a very high skillcap as survivor. And there are four of em in every match.

OK, so on what situations it is not useless?
First of all, you can't use it for instadowns, if you are healthy.
Second of all, it only gives you a 15 seconds grace, you basically PREDICT you are going to get downed during those 15 seconds.
It's only good on far out situations where, like, you get unhooked in the basement and you know you have nowhere to run.
So please do tell me, how is it far from useless?
You can no longer effectively use it on other people, since you know, they have to be standing still and if the killer is around, the chances a random dude will just stand still is like... non existent.
I mean really, please do tell me how to make good use of it?
Take another hit in a chase? Only one example. And yeah you have to predict it. Imagine. Predicting. Things killers do all day. And it wasn't meant as a buff so you can't use it against instadowns.

Wait, did you read my post?
I am talking about the new Septic purple thing, which gives you borrowed time.
Can I use it on myself when I'm healthy to prevent instadown, or not and it works the same as now - i.e. I need to be injured to use it, and then its like mostly useless?
You need to be injured to use it. And it's far from useless.

In fact I think that too strong is just boring, yes. I like the competition. Nurse addons are weak, but that has nothing to do with this topic. I don't see how Huntress is "slightly above average killer" while you can play her easily on red ranks without addons.
I'm saying that iri heads are fine. No need to make useful killer addons useless.
And about the viability. 50% of the maps are not winnable as huntress against good survivors. Straightout not winnable.
-
Desicated servers. I noticed it too when playing survivor. The killer got a completely different view on his screen.
-
@Satsui said:
In the Dedicated Servers, can you use it while you are uninjured? So it will prevent instadowns?
Or can you still use it only for injured self / other survivors, which means its almost entirely useless most of the time?
I think none of the old instaheals could be used against instadowns. So the purple one basically remaines the same in chases and is actually better against plague.
-
Definitly.

@PalletOrWhat said:
They should just change the addon. Every Killer should have strong addons imo, but this one is just boring.
Strong is boring i guess. Survivors want killer URs to be like the new Nurse ones. Seriously, Huntress is an slightly above average killer due to her movement speed and no mobility. No cooldown needed, no addon changes needed.
-
Shelter Woods is one of the few killer sided maps. After fixing Haddonfield and all the farm maps we can talk about Shelter Woods.
-
They need to balance that out. Demo is average atm.
-
Billy is op. Ah ######### here we go again.
-
Her addons needed a rework, base nurse was fine. Atm i only see her being viable with double cooldown addons or MAYBE Campbells + Kavanaghs.
-
I love it. Makes a 110% killer scary.
-
Solo survivors and bad killers buffs are cool. Maybe no nerfs for spirit.
-
Better nerf nurse after one map rework. Half of the work is done lmao.
-
Because you can't repair, heal or open gates when downed.

@Frosty said:
Now, I know there are going to be strong opinions both ways (hopefully) let's stay constructive and civil.
Should there be a maximum amount of times a survivor can be hit and healed? After which the broken status is applied.
There have been games where it's just not in the cards to chase and down a survivor. Like if they are trying to bait you away from a gen or a hooked team mate. I can usually get the initial hit in but then it's back to the gen to scare off who's working on it, usually landing the hit just to have them start the bait game. Mean while the other bloke has healed and is coming back with the same plan in mind.
Im not saying that this needs to be implemented to punish the majority of the population, but some sort of limit on how many times you can recover to full health would be nice.
No, i don't think that's a nice idea.

^^ idk how staying still is a mindgame
Tru3 said something funny about it. Some survivors want collision to be removed. So standing still will become a mindgame for them. Hilarous.

Honest question. Survivor perks seem to get nerfed all the time in this game in the name "balance" but killer perks never get nerfed no matter how powerful they are. MoM was not that big of a deal and I rarely ran it, but now its just another of the many completely useless perks. The DS nerf was even bigger, but at least that is sort of anti-tunnel now I guess? Seriously though it does seem like the killer community is much more vocal in this game and they seem to always get their way. It is no wonder the queue time suck so bad and why I rarely play killer even though its easy mode at least at mid to high ranks. The only challenge is waiting for a game.
I've played off and on for a while and I can't understand why the game still isn't balanced at all. The main issue I'm talking about is playing SWF vs. running solo. SWF games(when my friends do play) I can sport an 80-90% win/escape ratio, but solo its 15-20% maybe and honestly if I don't survive usually no one in the game survives. I would estimate a full 80% of non SWF games end with the killer getting 4 kills. Everyone always talks about camping like JUST DO GENS AND WIN EZ. But is it for a non SWF game? Sure in SWF a camper will pretty much always just get 1 kill, but in solo games camping is pretty much an automatic win for killer because by the time other survivors know a camp is occurring its really too late to get on gens and win the game. I propose to combat this situation the Devs either make voice chat available for survivors to even the playing field for non SWF or make it only in non SWF games so that the sacrificial timer either dramatically slows or altogether stops when a killer is within X meters of the hook. Maybe even make it a perk so we lose a perk slot for it, but something anti camp besides just kindred which has a short range we can run.
Camping is totally fine in SWF, because you can counter it, but in NON SWF it is game breaking and something should be done to make it a losing strategy in both instances not just SWF. I know I'm about to get flamed by the toxic killer community here(most toxic community I've seen in 20 years of online gaming anywhere), but every survivor main know camping is the biggest issue in this game for non SWF players. The DEVs should do something to discourage it. I'm not saying against the rules, but just make it so it isn't such a great winning strategy vs non SWF. There has to be something you can do to balance it out and make the game fun to play even when a killer decides to camp. I know it isn't the killers job to make the game fun, but it IS THE job of the devs if they want people to keep playing. I'm not saying that survivors should escape every game or even 70% of the time, but there should be balance between SWF and non SWF.
I mean, if the game was heavily survivor sided, what would you do? I think nerf survivors. Oh that's exactly what they did, big surprise.
And MoM. That perk was used very often in high ranks. It was a Dead Hard without the possibility to predict plus a sprintburst. It was op, it got a nerf.
You are right about the swf vs solos thing. As a solo player you don't got the additional information swf get for free. So you have to "waste" a perk slot for things like "Kindred" or "Bond". At least one of the survivor aura reading perks should be build-in to bring swf near solo players.
-
How bout a blindness buff, that let survivors don't see hex totems as lit anymore.
-
Haddonfield got infinites. With "Balances Landing" the whole map is an infinite. It's the worst map by far right now.
