"Wow... so you're complaining about hitting a cap of blood points?"
No not at all. Re-read what I said, it's obvious you don't get the issue. Even better I'll make it clear...
As killer I can make sure I have an infinite supply of whatever add-ons I want.
As survivor this is impossible.
This is because I can earned BP at a significantly faster rate as killer, I can find games at a significantly faster rate as killer, and I have way less objects that can spawn per bloodweb meaning I have a higher chance to get the exact things I want in fewer bloodwebs.
WGLF is not the same as BBQ. BBQ is super easy to get stacks AND has value outside of extra BP. WGLF is not as easy to get 4 stacks AND has no value other than BP boost.
You clearly don't play survivor or this discrepancy would be crystal clear to you.
wow you are still arguing this? I countered each argument you had according to your ORIGINAL comment. You keep changing it every time to get me to "UNDERSTAND". I can not help it if you decide to say something that leads someone else to the conclusion that you didn't want. You said and I will quote "but one of their primary perks give you 2x bloodpoints so the average killer gets more than 2x bloodpoints that a survivor gets." you are talking about a single part of ONE PERK. this is what I replied to and you decided to change that to the fact that BBQ has a secondary aspect yet WGLF does not. which I even told you IF that is how you had said it I'd have agreed with you that WGLF should have something else other than just blood points. but you keep running on about anything and everything BUT the fact I answered your original complaint. with this I, myself, am DONE. Your arguments hold no weight and are countered by one comment after another.
i could and have shown where the sheer fact that your survivor add-ons have no visible effect in the game that survivors know more about a killer at all times than a killer ever knows about survivors. I don't give a damn you have to spend more blood points to keep your reserves high, why? because it's not even part of your argument and countered by almost 4 years of survivors keeping their add-ons when the killers have always lost theirs. I don't care, the killers have one way to hold on to their add-ons since the game began and that is to use a black ward. survivors before now could walk out the trial with the add-ons in their pockets and could use white wards to even protect them when they died. NOW you can use white wards (once this issue is FIXED) OR USE ACE IN THE HOLE a perk none the less! that now lets you keep your add-ons! when will the killers get a perk to keep their add-ons... oh wait that's a perk with a function that's secondary, much like your complaint about BBQ! wow.... what do you know, survivors STILL have one up on the killers in keeping their stuff! and killers have one up on survivors in knowing where you are... shall we go into perks like kindred and even dark sense? sure why not... dark sense allows any survivor to see where the killer is no matter where the killer is when ANY gen is complete (detection perk OP!) killer's version: bitter murmir where the killer can only see survivors within a certain distance to the gen completed (detection perk not even close to OP!).
GET used to loosing your add-ons and saving your blood points for the survivors you want, and stop spreading them amongst the other survivors... you don't need to P1,P2,or P3 anyone anymore anyways! I'm done here, I've proven your original point null and void, countered every time. your new points I am not even trying to counter because it's pointless to argue something when that something keeps changing.

You can see the Killer’s username (at least on PS4). I’ve gotten messaged in the past by Survivors while in the pre-game lobby.
I’m not in favor of removing the usernames from the lobby because you wouldn’t be able to dodge toxic Survivors. I’d rather let everyone see usernames than hide them.
This is the difference between pc and console gaming. The thread really exists because pc gaming you don't know who it is you are facing as a survivor, yet if people did i'm sure killers would be in for a much longer wait for lobbies.

If a survivor hacks, one person reports them.
A killer hacks 4 people report them.
Im not saying killers dont hack but there's probably less hacking killers because of the amount of reports.
Not necessarily true. many people will just click the thumbs up and down button one the score board. if it is hacking you need to provide video proof and that requires the use of the second system called the ticket system. this is what most won't do even when it's there because it requires the knowledge of your ID64 tag (steam id), dbd's cloud ID (astronomically long hexadecimal number that can not be copy and pasted) and the offender's ID64 tag (steam id again) plus a link for the video, time codes etc to give the devs the proof of your accusation. since most don't record their matches, and don't care to do any extra work the reports don't get filed and those quick "killer wall hacked" blurps on the scoreboard system get thrown in the trash can.

Survivs can see the killers name as well In the end have over 30 -rep camper comments on my steam I’m keeping it as a wall of salt
the point is it is needed to know who it is BEFORE going into a match. and the -rep on profiles don't mean squat. i can get my friends to go to anyone's profile and put a -rep or a +rep without anything that deserved it. most people don't go to steam profiles before the match anyways.

You completely missed the point that it is very easy for killers to sustain add-ons while it is near impossible for survivors to sustain items AND add-ons. Both in terms of average bloodpoint earnings and in terms of the sheer volume of things that can spawn in a bloodweb.
I regularly have to spend bloodpoints every maybe 10 games as killer to avoid hitting the cap. I can play all day as survivor and MAYBE have to spend about 100k once to avoid it.
Wow... so you're complaining about hitting a cap of blood points? I have to spend blood points to avoid hitting a cap about every 3-4 matches survivor OR Killer. that still does not invalidate my points, and rebuttals to yours. you are all about points points points. when it's not that. you obviously are lightyears ahead of me in killer and survivor skill. You know what? I know so many survivors that have so many add ons it's not even funny! they are litterally begging people to take their stuff just to get rid of items and add ons they don't want. killers don't even get to do that. alright, we now need to remove survivor's abilities to give items to other survivors except by leaving what they find in a chest there for others' to pick up.
STILL does not invalidate that the answer to your charge that killers have a perk that gives 2X blood points and survivors do not have a perk that gives 2X bloodpoints. your actual argument here is not that the white ward isn't protecting the things you want, but that you don't like that you can't get a secondary use out of We're going to live together like BBQ and if you had phrased it that way I'd have 100% agreed with you. but no you had to make it "killers get a perk for 2X blood points, while us poor, poor survivors do not get 2X blood points" Guess what YOU HAVE IT! thus your complaint was resolved by what I said. you however didn't like that and changed what you said and yet I STILL countered every comment you made.

Since I can't post due to people getting hurt off a meme, what I don't like is how killers can see who survivors are and choose to lobby dodge. As survivors we should be able to see the killers name, since I've played some toxic killers and I mean really toxic lmao
just so you know, NOW if you get a killer that lobby dodges, they don't get rewarded, they get penalized, and the survivors are as they stay in the "killer" lobby and another fills their spot. The original killer has to get back into the queue and hope they get a match. HOW EVER it is true if survivors dodge, it can take them a bit longer thank killers in the "HIGH RANKS" but again not always. but lower level killers who dodge as they see a group of p3 clauds and they are rank 16 and just starting out they have to get beat down, loose their offerings and add ons and then sit in queue again to chance getting another group of seasoned people and they have 5-10 minute queue times that low ranking...

I would actually go to the other side of the spectrum and remove the names and instead add their character names, to avoid for example streamsniping and such, BUT if that doesn't work, then I would like that smoll name tag on their head. Lorewise, doesn't fit tho, sry :'3
ok you're the killer and you're playing rancor, you have 4 claudettes in the match, all wearing the same outfit (p3 blendette) now who will you down and mori? no same characters make it impossible to know and hell the game can't work right when the players DO name themselves the exact same: injured icon/hooked icon on the wrong person becuase it can't figure that out. imagine that constantly.

What if a survivor is hacking? How do we report them? If its a known hacker you should have the right to refuse to play with them.
same goes for killers that hack. and the survivors can not know who it is till they are out of the game. I don't know the fix, but it certainly is not "remove the gamer tag" and killer's used to be known because of how STEAM matched them up. personally I am tired of stupid and offensive names by both killer and survivor. I report all such offensive names (and not the stupid ones like "corona virus" but the ones that are truly offensive) to STEAM as behavior can't do much about that unless they changed it so that there was a name attached on their end so it doesn't bring in their steam profile name.

1) Getting 4 hooks is infinitely easier than getting 4 safe rescues consistently.
2) BBQ has value as a tracking perk. WGLF has no value other than BP boost.
3) Play Legion or Freddy. You will easily earn 25k or more per game whether you aim for it or not (unless you suck THAT BAD as killer).
4) Regardless of #3, you can consistently earn 20k BP or more per game as killer if that is your goal. You cannot do this as survivor consistently.
5) If the killer sucks, you will get 10k BP max assuming you do all the gens AND get chased for a long time. If survivors suck you are walking out with 15k BP or more, plus 4 stacks of BBQ.
6) Did you miss the part where I mentioned above that killers have 20 add-ons while survivors have 55 add-ons PLUS 18 items, for a total of 73 (SEVENTY THREE!!!) possible objects that can appear in a bloodweb. It is insanely easy to sustain add-ons as killer. It is NOT easy to sustain add-ons or items as survivor. You'd be lucky to get the things you want once per 5 webs as survivor at p3 50. I get Mother Daughter Ring or Yakuyoke Amulet at least once every other web, usually more than 1 of each per web at p3 50.
7) White Ward states "Protection against loss of item or add-ons", yet when you escape you lose your add-ons. Basically false advertising.
If you completely use an item, I can see a valid reason to lose the add-ons even if you escape. But if you have charges left, or use a White Ward, you should keep your add-ons.
1) you can get protection hits as well.
2) you mentioned nothing but the blood points so i kept with that. sorry you didn't make your argument that way at first, my point still remains, YOU CAN GET 2X blood points if you desire.
3) I play them i earn between 10-25K and it varies. as I said, if you have evenly matched players in the match my comments stand, even with freddy or legion.
4) I guess my efforts are not up to your red rank 1-4 killer standards. again my comments on #3 stand even the odds the killer will over all be in between the 4 survivors in point total, if you have disparet skill levels killer will have way more points or way less points.
5) again you are proving exactly what I said about skill levels
6) so? you have more add ons so you can get different powers.. killers are limited to what power they are designed with (a much narrower way of playing than the survivors), the killers add ons are instantly known when observed (darkened traps, 3 blinks, speed walking nurse, multiple traps instead of one, pallet freddy, swing chains, and even more) yet killers have the idea oh you have a med kit, no indication a styptic agent, extra charges, syringe. how about a tool box! hey who knows what's in there! flashlight is it a battery? is it an odd bulb? Oh what kind of tool box is it? what type of med kit? is that a broken key or a dull or even a skeleton key? Take into account 3 years of killers loosing their add-ons and constantly having to re-buy them, your argument here holds no water.
7) that was never anything I disputed. perhaps there is an issue, and because before it was "if you die" and YES I verified that the ward says add-ons are to be kept. THIS IS A RECENT CHANGE and they have since that edited the description, and there is a mid chapter patch coming perhaps this will be fixed as things have not been specific about the mid chapter patch and the PTB does not encompass the whole of all the changes they have made and even changes after.
If killers don't completely use an item, then they should not loose it. oh wait they are forced as it applies directly to the item used. so in your instance ONLY time i'd accept your description is if you didn't use your "POWER" at all. I'd be happy that if the item has 100% of the charges it went in with this means add-ons are not lost. this includes not being affected by franklin's demise, nor being exchanged for an item in a chest. once the item leaves the original surivor's hands or even used for a micro second then the add-ons are toast. You will also notice my response to you was not in reference to the white ward but your complaint about a perk that killers can use (if they have it) that gives 100% blood points, which survivors ALSO have... I will also say this: killers are required to purchase a DLC, spend blood points to get Leatherface to level 35 (bbq's teachable level) or purchase the perk in the shrine for 2000 shards. Survivors get David in the default game without purchasing a DLC so they are only out the time it takes to use blood points to get we're going to live for ever (I think level 30, but i'm not sure).

Yes, they did it to 'bring it more in line with killers' but not only do killers get more bloodpoints in general but one of their primary perks give you 2x bloodpoints so the average killer gets more than 2x bloodpoints that a survivor gets. It was a stupid change that they should never have done because its stupid. If they want less addons balance the bloodweb, dont take them from us
if you are talking about BBQ and Chili, then I will also say survivors have the exact same idea in We're going to live forever. this can give you 100% more blood points just like BBQ does. so you want more points, dedicate a perk slot to it, don't try to make it out to being that you don't have anything like it. nice try, also killers do not get more blood points than survivors i've seen survivors get 28-32K bps when the killer only got 20K or even less. If you come out and say well that's not the norm, I'll inform you that killers do not always get more than the survivors. and generally when the killer and survivors are evenly matched, the killers fall in the middle of most survivor groups. so two survivors are above and two below the killer in points. Now if you get a killer that has the skill of a rank 8 versus a group of rank 16's, YES the killers are going to smash the survivors.and when you get a group of survivors that are the skill of a rank 8 versus a killer rank 16, the survivors are going to smash the killer and they might be lucky to pull 12K!

The emblem specifically states (paraphrased) "Shows how well the player was able to avoid the killer" and like you say don't deal with the killer at all you get bronze or NONE... doesn't make sense.

interesting, i haven't seen that on my screen but i don't always see what hapens on the edge and corners of the screen when i'm paying attention to the active part of the screen to be honest so i can't say it has or hasn't happened.

Please show me where I said that? Almost everyone understands there will be lag. But getting hit from 20 meters away because a Chinese person wants to play on NA servers with no way of knowing is ridiculous. Hits should be server side to fix this because its ruining about 20% of my games at this point, and I can't even DC without getting a ban, nor do I even get a warning of the killers connection to the server, which is what matters.
this statement is what I was commenting about "Today I played against a Chinese VPNer and I literally got hit after I hit the ground after jumping out of a window on Haddonfield" that is the SAME as what you said that it was not an issue.... but keep talking in circles maybe you'll answer your own answers with what you think are the only answers... I will bow out since i will not be able to convince you otherwise.

That isn't the point. No one is asking for a cure for latency. The server should confirm hits instead of it being on the killer side. Today I played against a Chinese VPNer and I literally got hit after I hit the ground after jumping out of a window on Haddonfield. There's no counterplay to this and considering the ping indicator in lobby is useless I have to guess how much lag the killer has.
well you JUST said it was the issue after saying it is not. and using a VPN introduces even more lag because it take a long time to get to the dedicated server but the server only sees the FINAL connection not everyone in between due to the effects of the VPN. I did not say that there was not an issue, nor that there was not ANY sembelance of a resolution. but the server is just a glorified connector, it is not the one running the game itself, how ever the logs of the game are still going through it and can be looked at for what happens. unlike MMO's where the issue in PVE you only deal with client to server issues but these issues even affect PVP in MMO's as well as other MOBAs and even Battle Royale. depends on how things are done and What I am seeing here is that the servers are just connection servers the clients are still only on the player's side and that is why things are as they are and that is how I see it from the technical side.

Unfortunately the devs don't care about this because fixing it would benefit survivors.
You do realize how assanine your statement is? the issues being discussed here are not easy to fix and there is little that can be done to fix latency what so ever? If you think they can apply a fix to make everyone not have latency you might just want to put down what you're smoking because even marajuana isn't that good thus it's definitely illegal in the US.

I know he didn't mention lagback but that's what causes it from my experience. It happens on 60ms for me and everyone else,it's that bad in live that you need to do a certain tech to not make ur character lagback lmfao. I could record a vid if you want to show what i mean by lagback.

But 60 Ping must be amazing when 150 Ping is "pretty good ping"...
You both realize that "PING" can change from millisecond to millisecond? you do know that it can easily go from "60 ping" to "500ping" in the span of a millisecond and then right back to "60 ping" in the next and you'd never see it change because you could not see the changes and the display could not update that fast? Also PING is a term that is misused in this time, it does represent what ideas are there and even my statement above about it changing uses that "misuse" of the term.
PING is actually a command in all types of operating systems, IOS, MacOS, Windows, Linux, Unix etc. it causes the OS to send a set of packets out to a specific destination and then it is sent back. This returns a TIME (60ms, 150ms, 600ms, etc) which tells the user how "speedy" or "fast" their connection is, and if you would be experiencing major latency (or lag) or not. The higher the time (ms = milliseconds) the long it takes for something to reach you. YES we are talking fractions of a second. if you think you can experience this you are wrong, but that is how computers work. Now you and the killer both have a "PING" and if it is 60 at one moment on both ends it takes 60 ms for you to send to the server, 60 ms for your information to move to the killer, then 60 ms for it to return to the dedicated server and another 60ms to return to you resulting in a total of 240 ms passing. during that time, your game has updated the server, their game has updated the server, and at a low turn time as 120 ms (from system to server and then back with updates) it's not that bad but something may cause one leg of this overall journey to go from 60ms to 500ms or longer for a short period of time and this is where you see the most agregious effects and this is something that happens even without either person known or it could be because they started a download, or something else is taking priority over that information or it is intentionally done by doing one of the above or something else like lag switching was before dedicated servers.

Actually it's the garbage lagback caused when vaulting which makes you take a bs hit. In the ptb they luckily fixed vaulting after months of taking bs hits miles through windows.
this is not what the OP was describing the "LAG BACK" I never saw on my pc. dedicated servers did introduce lag issues that were not there but elimiated more lag issues than it created. noting is 100% perfect and there will always be lag when you are dealing with two people that are continents away, or even the next state over. There is a point where you CAN hit someone logically through a window and if you think that's impossible. have someone stand across a 3-4 ft high fence and you and one other stand on either side of the window one reaches out with a stick and see what that distance is (stick should be 2-3 feet in length generally but some smaller than others but use the average of a short sword length of blade (from the top of the crosshilt to the tip of the blade) and see if it is possible you will find it is quite possible.
there are other instances of lag happening that is intentionally caused by the killer's pc (downloading etc) where you will also find that that "lag back" will happen or the fact that myers hits you 2 meters from a downed pallet on the OTHER side of you. you should report instances that seem suspicious even if you think it might have been lag, it is possible that something hinky is going on on one end or the other.

I don't think people should lose add one if they weren't used. Also I don't know how you make an assumption of how I play the game if I didn't completely use my item or it's add-ons. Like #########, get help you take this way to serious
oh so now you assume i take this game way too serious? I guess my comments hit way to close to home for you that you have to TELL ME to get help... why don't you get help?
first of all you USED them when you added them to your item. if you don't want to loose em don't use em! the killer add ons work just that way. they are used when you enter the match. so are yours. so what if you accidentally hit the heal with your med kit and only did it for a fraction of a second? should they go away then? ALL I suggested here is that survivor's POWER (their items) are being brought into parity with the killer's add-ons for their POWER. You now keep the POWER if you escape, just loose those add-ons because you used them when you walked in with them equipped. why is this a hard concept? for years survivors could keep their add-ons allowing them to put blood points to other characters for what ever reason, killers for the same time had to continually replace their add-ons since 2016 and launch of the game.
I can see the idea that survivors were not expected to survive more than maybe 5-10% of the time originally and thus it was a great reward to let them keep the items and add-ons when they escaped. now survivors are surviving much more than before so it puts those that play killer at the huge disadvantage of not having the add-ons. Stop complaining, perhaps we should let killers keep their add-ons if they get 4k's for the next 3 years and let them relax and spend blood points in other cases. (I'm being sarcastic, I think it's good where it is now with both sides not keeping add-ons)
-
Honestly I agree with the OP, it seems to be off here. he did not go after the one in the distance doing who knows what. got another hook, then downed one then a second. the last one on the other side now going after why? who knows what they are doing. that person was only trying to avoid once they had been found. and he got ds'd for that and I think that's crap, he did not tunnel what so ever. didn't go after them for a while and that person hadn't healed in any way (possible they can't on their own).
NOW I also agree with Peanits here that he did make the mistake of picking that person up just a tad early... I disagree, the first down if had unbreakable would be getting up before he got back and the other as well if he were to have gone back so I think the smart play would have wait by jane for 10 more seconds then pickup.
TO THE OP: you didn't do anything wrong, DS punishes killers for being too efficient. I've been punished for this myself I hook survivor#1, and then I get another hooked, and chasing a third, hook third just after #1 gets unhooked, go after the unhooker and get that one hooked (3 on hook one not) what am I supposed to do? go into a corner now and wait for the first hooked to unhook all of them with BT or take them down. I took them down, they had DS, and all 4 got out the hatch (gens had just gotten done as i was hooking #2 as well) .... #1 had BT and as i was chasing them i couldn't get a hit as they kept shielding #1 (key as well) with their BT and hatch was right there couldn't get in to close it. so YES it needs to be re-worked but over all it's in a better state than it was before still a pita when you are effecient... oh might i mention they were all rank 15-17 (I was rank 14) at the time with BT 3 on characters other than bill.

So before anyone say This isn’t a get rid of dc penalty thread it’s more of a some changes need to be made because I have gotten dc because of internet connection bs and suffered from both not getting bp, deranking, and going through the penalty. The change I think need to happen is a check to see if the dc was manually or if it was because connect to server was lost because this is bs for me to not have any control over my internet and get punished because it made me dc. Please fix and do something to stop this because it’s bs sitting through a 15 minute matchmaking lock after my games connection dc’s me
as people have stated there are ways to just disconnect via networking via pc, physical router cable being pulled/powered off and other ways. NO I think the penalty time is too light, first one 5 minutes ok but conesuctives should be that way, and the timer should reset EVERYTIME there is a DC. and it should not decay in 1 day it should be random depending on how many times the person has dc'd in say a 60 day period. ALSO there should be a way you could petition to have some dc's removed if you can prove it was an ISP outage, or a power outage etc.

DEVS have stated FARMING is not a banable offense! HOWEVER forcing someone to participate is. can this player hold shift and not let them heal him/her? sure... is that what it'll come down to holding shift to stop people healing but doesn't stop a killer from picking you up and dropping you then downing you when you try to leave (<<< happened to me). Record the match, report them, make sure behavior can see the video (youtube, google drive etc) then make sure to submit the ticket from the support section of the game (you will need steam ID64 of the offenders and this form is also a "TICKET")
-
Anytime someone makes the statement online to another of "go #########" (not to anyone just to make sure people know what I'm talking about) it is a known CYBER BULLYING action, as well as a BULLYING (if in person). it is punishable by federal and state law. this is not something to make a jest about. look at what happened with those that "SWATTED" others. where they contacted authorities in another state, said this other person (usually someone they didn't like or were just playing against) and said they have intentions to use weapons. for instance terroristic ways etc, thus causing a SWAT team to be sent to a place thinking there were heavily armed people breaking in and when people move it's possible and has happened that people DIE in this instance.
This should be seen as a THREAT and should be reported as such. there are people serving time for swatting and more need to be shown that if you threaten people over the internet you are not immune to the law. It is petty and silly to use that phrase to someone for any reason, there are people that play games to get over anxieties and this could easily push them over the edge. STOP THINKING that they shouldn't be playing dbd because of this, that is not your call and theirs. it how ever IS your responsibility to not be a jerk and say crap like that.

This seems like more than simple latency.
then report it to be investigated with sever data and your video proof. if you don't do that then it's mere latency. you might notice i mentioned the same thing as well

Ruin didn't affect every person, where as this does. To be honest, it's about time to remove things like big maps and infinites. What is problematic with this update is the amount of dead zones there are. I get they don't want jungle gyms to spawn around other structures to create easy loops, but dead zones should not exist to this extent. On the live client, Ormond already has tons of dead zones, now there are more. It's a step in the right direction, but until they nerf hook spawns and killer mobility, as well as remove bloodlust, then it will be more tolerable. Did I mention, dead zones are problematic?
make sure to give feedback to the devs in the proper places about the dead zones and constructive ideas. don't just say it and whine when it happens without your input they can't make it better.

For starters, Ruin wasn't ruined (no pun intended). LOTS of people still use it, and use it effectively. In addition there are other, strong perks that work to do the same thing - slow down gen progression - and are very effective. This comparison is not even remotely a comparison. People who say "gitgud" about the changes that are occurring are making an ignorant statement and drawing a comparison akin to apples and basketballs.
Obviously survivors will learn to adapt, because we have every single patch for the last 12+ months that have changed or nerfed how we have to interact with the game. But that doesn't negate the fact that for a large portion of the survivor population, that doesn't fall under the hated "SWF group" category (the catalyst for these changes), these changes will have increasingly negative effects on their matches. Which is rightful upsetting in a game you paid money to play.
Survivors are already good, sir. That's why killer crying just resulted in a huge boost to your ability to win a game. 🖕
first of all when ruin was nerfed (changed but it's a nerf becuase now it's completely what people don't expect anymore. it's A NERF!) killers cried here on the forums and survivors cried back "GET GUD" chase off of gens etc. didn't matter what was brought up (hag, huntress at 110% or trapper with no mobility to cross maps fast) it was just "GET GUD" now these changes happen and survivors are crying and no matter what is brought up it's "GET GUD" this is the problem people don't realize why it's so bad. survivors have not been continually shat upon, nor have killers. but your suggestion to remove mobility to killers ???? #########?? maybe blood lust, ONCE the maps are set right sure since that was a band-aid put on for these issues now being fixed. so what mobility must be removed? shall we make the nurse blink only 8 meters at a time, give her one blink before the exhaustion hits? oh how about billy... lets make his chainsaw move him slower than his normal movement speed... oh that'd be grand for survivors wouldn't it.
remember this game relies more on killer players staying in and playing. in 100 matches there are 100 killers and 400 survivors. if you loose 30 killers but no survivors, that means only 70 matches can happen at any given time thus only 280 survivors can be in a match at anyone time. that's 120 survivors that are out of a match for how ever long. (used 100 matches as an easy number to show the problem) now expand that to 1000 matches, that's 1000 killers and 4000 survivors. lose 300 killers, you have 1200 survivors sitting out matches.... it's a matter of numbers if you try to say but it's survivors that make up the bulk and thus are more important, you are correct that survivors are the largest numbers, but you have to get more than 30% leaving at any one time to affect the killers that much. so by the numbers if the killers leave, and no survivors then you end up with no one getting matches.
this MEANS that both sides have to be happy but they need to realize it's a compromise. Also everyone needs to stop saying any change you didn't want is a nerf. this is the other problem... everyone thinks that they are the most important!!! nope you aren't everyone is just as important as the other and if you don't like something you have a choice: 1) live with it or 2) leave and move on.

So currently when the end game collapse happens, the generators become locked and you are able to open the doors. When there is only one survivor remaining, and the killer closes the hatch, the end game collapse begins. During this phase the survivor's only way of survival is to open a door. The door takes 20 seconds and the killer is able to position themselves (in some maps) to where they do not have to walk far to see the red light of the door, making it almost impossible to open the door. I would suggest changing it to where the red light does not exist when there is only one survivor or making the door open faster.
so your first objective is to get gens done, and you can't get that done. failure of objective #1
3 survivors dead, hatch opens. killer closes it (causing failure #1) thus you have now failure #2 as you did not get to the hatch in time.
NOW you want to open a door and the killer is there and you die (failure #3).
you want to be rewarded by faster opening doors or indications different than normal because you failed 2 times to escape???? great mentality there....
so with that mentality in mind killers objective is to kill survivors and they get all 5 gens done. this is failure #1 and #2 for killers.
now survivors have to open the door... so by your thoughts, it should take 4 times as long to open a door because the killer didn't get to kill you. oh how about we make that 2 times as long and let the killer see all survivor auras no matter what perks they have till the last survivor leaves or is sac'd.
how about that? is that also a good idea? no? then stop trying to get 3rd chance buffs just because you are unlucky.
-
this is not about internet priority. it is about the fact that there is latency involved. if you don't like it leave the match how ever you like just take what ever penalty you want. survivors can have just as bad of a latency issue and killers swing and suddenly the survivor isn't there or ghosts through because before the hit was registered the update game and survivor wasn't there. it goes both ways. if you think someone was intentionally doing this you best report them at the scoreboard and then send the proof via a ticket (two reports basically) otherwise suck it up you won't get anything changed by just posting here.
-
I would limitedly agree with the OP. I do not agree on the perks because that is way too much information to know before the match. but for the items (tool box, flashlight, medkit, key, etc) the information really isnt there but the survivors can find out you're a trapper because they spawned next to a bear trap, you're a pig because they spawned at a jigsaw box...... lots of information there. now the add ons, it's easy for survivors to know what add-ons you have. for instance on the ground at spawn in you see a bear trap that is dark as can be, you know they have used the green add on to darken the traps. that's power plus one add-on, shortly there after they observe you setting two traps in a row, now they know you have atleast a brown bag, could be yellow or purple, but know that you can carry more than one trap at a time. and within minutes they know more than you do of the survivors. there should be a way the killer can determine what the add-ons and items of the survivors are.
Also at the end of the match, you should be able to know what character each person played just as they know who you are by your power in the scoreboard. (that's just so you know easily who needs to be given a report or a great job etc.

That's what I wanted to know. Like why do I lose add-ons even if I don't use them but keep the item. Who asked for that?
also why do the killers loose their add ons every match since 2016 but survivors didnt? lots of balancing happening and for 3 years you got add ons staying just because you hid and walked out a gate, or did all the gens and opened the door then walked out. mmm hmm.... not broken at all.

I love how you get so upset by a small analysis of a perks use from my experience, but hey that's fine it doesn't change the fact the majority of users who use NoeD are typically bad players. Funny thing is you act like I'm the sole person who says this as well. Many many players say this on both sides. Probably hundreds if not more threads on this topic. Some killers refuse to use NoeD because either they find it cheap/unearned/waste of a slot. Some Survivors have the same feelings for Adrenaline and DS.
So when I say I think it's a good perk used by bad players no I'm not a part of a problem it's an opinion. There's significantly better perks for end game or in general so why bother wasting a slot.
you are so self absorbed that you can't see that your opinion was stated to put people down, you didn't even state what you just now stated what so ever. the part that I was talking about is this: "Most people who use it tend to solely rely on it to win games that they honestly don't deserve to win." Yes the saying goes: "Opinions are like crap holes... (modified for censors) Everyone has them!" but some like you are both as well and think that I care about your opinion, my opinion is you like to redirect things by changing what you think you said because you want to be seen in a different light. enjoy being who you are and know everyone here sees exactly how you are. good bye.

Not really I just have come down to saying
NoeD is a good perk, Used by bad players.
Most people who use it tend to solely rely on it to win games that they honestly don't deserve to win.
I get what you mean though.
I don't rely on it, but it's used just in case the match gets there. I'm still working through the match. the same can be said of adrenaline, if you have it more than likely you are relying on that instant heal and speed boost when the last gen is done. Don't be lumping everyone into one group when you don't know what you're talking about. you say it's bad killers that use it because that's how you see it if it is used. no, you are part of the problem by thinking this.

I do think killers take a pretty substantial BP and thus rank hit if they camp most of the time, but I could be wrong.
In theory, the counter to camping is to just gen rush once you determine the killer is camping, though in practice it's seldom that simple and unless everyone is in on it, it's not a very beneficial tactic. At higher ranks, players seem more capable of countering a camper, but at lower ranks camping is honestly a pretty fail proof method of getting a 4K - especially if you have perks or a killer that can easily abuse it.
killers do not take a penalty of BP just for camping, only what they wouldn't get by chasing and pushing off gens etc. they get minorly hit in the emblems (which determine rank, BP no longer determines rank)
@Chmurkaz said:
I think they could make it, so if you hook the same survivor within certain amount of time and without hooking another survivor between, you'll get less bloodpoints for hook.
It might encourage some people to go after unhooker for more bloodpoints.
(even if most people tunnel not because of bloodpoints it would be nice touch)
hmmm so if you hook someone, and then go off, the someone goes and starts jumping in and out of lockers you go in grab them and put them on the hook you get LESS bloodpoints?!! oh yea lets punish someone for another's toxic and harassing behavior. that'd be PERFECT yea sign me up for this BS right now... NOT!
also i'm not going to quote ever post you put in here but you know what? unfortunately it seems that match you had a team that was acting like potatoes. they were not making good choices just to get in. I did the same thing TODAY and it was because I was trying to get a protection hit and escape as david (YES that challenge) I felt bad for it because I got hooked and then the one i unhooked went down, and well we both died on hook. me on first hook her on second but essentially first hook because I was being greedy. I of course apologized. I'm sorry if you have a 4 stack and 90% of your matches you get campers and tunnelers you probably were doing something in general that pissed someone off. It might not have been intentional but I have never had more than 50% of my matches over a time period be campers and tunnelers without us doing something intentional or even indavertantly toxic seeming to the killer. This is not true for a small subset of games.... if you play 2 games in a night then you can't say well i had 100% campers and tunnelers just because, the sample size needs to be sizable for me that tends to be aproximately within 48 hours where i'd get 15-20 matches in maybe 30 in that period.
This topic is certainly one that is repeated here day in and day out. Killers AND Survivors need to realize as well that one previous match can make the same killer who was being nice turn 100% nasty. you may get an easy game... you may love to tease with the GG EZ BB KILLER.... or something similar, but that killer might have just left the game/chat and the next one they get their aggressions out on the unsuspecting group that comes next. YES I am guilty of this on both sides, also survivors can have a toxic game before and end up with a killer being cool and wanting to do a running game farming session (basically running the game fairly normally but not killing the survivors) and those survivors bring flashlights, and everything to harass the unsuspecting killer and blamo the next match the killer does the same to the survivor. the chain needs to STOP some where, we are only human.

So I mostly care ######### on reporting, but yeah, maybe I should have done that, but for when I found the part of the vod where he hitted me to check it, the server closed the match, and if that happens, you bassically can't report.
not true what so ever. the scoreboard is still available to interact with including getting their steam information. and the second report uses web functionality not ingame so if you can't get there in time to do the thumbs up or down you can STILL make that ticket as well. just tell them what happened. yes it takes them time to wade through the many reports they are getting but you should still be able to. I report anyone this way when I see it, doesn't mean they'll be banned but it'll be there.

You need to do gens. I need to down you, hook you and down you. My problem is when I kill a survivor and the last three survivors can just leave at 4 gens done. (like the nice gentleman already said) Patrolling becomes easier and easier the more gens are done, and that fact that you can just escape willy-nilly when it's the killers strongest time is the problem
sure that's correct and you can with any mori kill ANYONE (or more if ebony vice ivory) before even 2 gens are done depending on how good you are. don't get me wrong I like mori's like anyone else, I also like keys but you as a killer do not have to work as hard as the survivors have to to get their escape through the hatch with the key. This doesn't mean keys are not as powerful as mori's, but there is reason that mori's are getting a great deal of hate and the return hate is more empty because of the extra work needed.

I don't believe so. As far as I'm aware, it's exactly like getting hooked as the last survivor.
Honestly if you could get that many normally and the game just ends it, it should be awarded. (if last survivor that isn't the case so no award there) this also allows the killer to close the hatch, get the 250 and the survivors in struggle to get the 250 points of pressure. that really is a cheat to rob people of potential points, sure that won't be a node on the blood web but it might bring them up to the point of getting an extra one with the points in the game. I will honestly say this change is actually a bad idea because now it will futher encourage the slugging that happens now.

Does it really matter what the PTB results are? The Devs made almost no changes after the last PTB happened.
you never know what will happen. they delayed the chapter patch a week for that reason PLUS trying to get them into a window of two weeks after ptb before in case there are needed changes. what you or I see as a needed change may not be what the devs see as a needed change, and assuming they make no changes from the ptb is a fallacy that makes assume it's moniker "make an ass out of u and me" so dont' assume nothing changes, there was a change where the ptb came out and it was up then down and they changed things then the PTB went back out. I want to say that was freddy's re-work, but still if you don't participate in the PTB because you think your information doesn't count you just lost your right to complain. why? because you had a chance to tell them what you found wrong.

just because you report it doesn't mean that proof isn't there. they can still get the logs of the match but you do have to send the first report on the scoreboard and then send the second report through the ticket system, pointing them to that video. they then will look into it and take action if needed. doesn't mean you know they did it or not, but let the dev team make the decision as they have access to data you do not.

PTB RESULT as your title then is misleading "MY" PTB RESULT would be more accurate. and your description and your response is that you don't expect it to change. well you know if you don't act to change it and just post here then there is nothing to be gotten from this thread. it says to me hey I need more blood points because my characters aren't in the shape i want them in so i'll get in and do a few matches, get out quickly without wasting items thus what you are seeing here. you came here expecting people to read your post saying it's doom and gloom because of the first 4 hours, hell hey i want to play on map X I didn't get it so I'll just get out till I get it to try and get the one I want is another possible answer to why it's "doom and gloom in the first 4 hours"
-
did you report this guy? sure it's lag but it is using lag to 100% intentionally circumvent the game rules
-
yes after 4 hours we have ptb results in a hand full of people have the pulse of the game 100% correct in a very short time. gotta love it... give it time to work and people to get used to the new stuff and then talk to us.

My comments about this (and the other) dumpster fire of a thread.....
1) every change ANYONE doesn't like is a nerf, and if they like it is a buff!
2) windows: factor in the rank resets that push red ranks out to purple ranks pushes you out to be able to be paired against GREEN and Yellow ranks (if the rank system was even working). this means you are taking new killers and facing them off of seasoned rank 1-4's who end up destroying them when you bully them in game and use the infinites.. I will relish them going away as survivor AND as killer.
3) it's soooooooo funny when someone watches the majority of the threads exponentially greater than the number that the killers put up because of a) proposed and b) not even on the PTB reworks that haven't been tested by ANYONE here besides the devs yet you talk about them as if you've played with them hundreds of times.
4) DS is a perk that survivors whined about since I started playing in 2018, and i'm sure before, it got changed and before if you were running DS and solo queue some how you didn't get the obsession tag you had to go 30-40% wiggle meter making ds not even worth it. NOW everyone can have DS and it can give you 60 seconds of immunity from the killer. even when the killer isn't tunneling and you are the last up you stun them, rescue everyone and you all get out that's balanced perfectly!! oh yea it is... but that's what the killers have to deal with even at rank 17, people playing against them that have rank 3 DS and they are still learning the game, let alone come close to mastering their favorite killer.
5) BT mentioned in this thread was said to work only once. This is objectively untrue. it works two times per person that is HOOKED.
6) also it is hilarious that everyone cries about gens being slowed down and forgets that the description only assesses a penalty if there are other players there, yet Prove Thy Self is being buffed to COUNTER this. SO USE THAT PERK..... or do the smart thing: 1 killer, 4 survivors. everyone get on different gens, let the killer chase one off a gen, get 3 gens done in 80 seconds since solo gen time has not been TOUCHED! I'm laughing at the better survivors here that missed that tidbit in order to make your whine more powerful. here's a hint lies are easily exposed: "Going forward, the speed reduction for each additional Survivor is being raised to 15%. While this may sound like a small change, it is the difference between four Survivors finishing a generator in about 36 seconds compared to the current 28 seconds." (from the dev notes)
7) Survivors loosing their addons: as it has been said, killers have lost their add-ons EVERY match since the begining unless using a black ward. this brings them within parity to the killers. enjoy!!!
8) also DC penalties affect killers worse than survivors. (assumes 0 DC's on record at the time of the infraction) if survivor is alone it's closer to the affect the killer has, but currently a survivor dc's they wait for their group to be finished and only have 2-3 minutes left if not less of the time out when in a SWF depending on how much longer the match takes. if a killer dc's they then have to wait 5 minutes to even queue up again and then wait 2-10 minutes for a match to form around them so they are out 7-17 minutes.
9) Finally you want to know what is the laughing stock here? everyone is saying survivors (only) are needed to keep this game afloat. if you take one match 1 killer, 4 survivors you are correct, if that is all that happens at one time (5 people playing the game) yes it will never go without any ONE person from those 5 players. Now lets move this to 10 matches going on at any ONE time. that's 10 killers and 40 survivors. lets say 10 survivors quit the game and are not replaced leaving 10 killers and 30 surivivors, this means 3 killers will be waiting till the other 7 matches end (also 2 survivors will as well) NOW if ONE killer leaves, there now 9 killers and 40 survivors. this means 4 suvivors are waiting and 9 matches going on. Take it even better... 3 Killers go, leaving 7 killers and 40 survivors. this means 7 matches will be happening and 12 survivors will wait. so honestly the killers are the ones that need to stay, even 1 leaving hurts the game that much more. (YES this is assuming that people like myself do not play, that is those who play both killer and survivor) You would have to have survivors leaving in groups of 4-7 to truly hurt the game. keep ramping the numbers up and see what you get, you'll find the role of killer is what drives this game and keeps the lights on (well assuming there is a healthy player base)
-
All i can say is I have fun with the killers, doesn't matter, freddy or anything else. what I find boring is the killers that play a specific way, doesn't matter they only play this way but even worse is the survivors that only want to do gens, then get out. usually what happens is i get nailed with noed, and they leave because of noed... don't want to risk it yet no one does totems anymore because oh my they take time away from doing gens! oh yea gotta finish the match in minutes.
-

You shouldn't be able to quit the first time anything doesn't go your way
but you need a way to leave a match that is locked in a loop or in a bugged state. it's known that if some bugs happen there is no way to get out except close the program, or use the leave match button in the menu. If people didn't decide this would be a fun thing to continue to use we'd not be here. I have seen people who would disconnect because they didn't like how a killer player would nod their head when they downed them, how they would do x or y or hey i'm rubberbanding I'm out. One streamer would do this 5-10 times a night! in some of these I was playing as a survivor with her, sure i accepted it but what am i going to say? just didn't like it personally.

she didn't find a pallet and none of the gens were repaired?
what does not finding a pallet have to do with what I said, and if the gens weren't being worked on that's on the survivors not the camping killer. still what else do you wish to say as a non-sequiter?
-
It is mostly latency that you are talking about and they are working on what little they can do to improve that but if it taks 60 milliseconds to get information from the killer to the server then another 60 milliseconds to go from server to you, you will see things that happened 120 milliseconds when you think you are clear.
Also it is known the killer can smack you through a window an over low fences. do you blame hit boxes when the killer is on one side of the window and you are on the other side playing peak-a-boo with them (say at shack window) trying to bait them to attack and hope you are far enough away in time? no. this is what people don't think about if the killer is at the window when they attack and you're just the other side you end up getting hit and you might see yourself several steps from the window but downed but 120 milliseconds before you weren't.
I used numbers here just to make it simple, it will vary from person to person and second to second.

Im literally not being toxic and literally just standing there for 2 minutes making you depip and not have ANY fun shouldn't be the only viable counter,
I never said that you were 100% being toxic, I just said that if this is happening to you more than 50% of the time there is a chance that though you think you are not being toxic you might actually be being toxic. I rarely get face camped. camped sure but proxy camping and I've been accused of camping when I just ran around the area making sure they were going to be on the hook before leaving the area and seeking out the other survivors. I also love how "making you depip" is a punishment. I don't care if I depip. the ranking system is busted to the point there is no real reason to worry about rank. it's no big deal for you to REPIP the next match, especially when you're ranked against killers that are truly baby killers. OR maybe that is when you are face camped, and what you see as normal game play to them is toxic as crap because they get frustrated so they stop and watch you die because you kept palleting them and looping them for 3 gens they feel accomplished. It is all a matter of perspective.
-
hmmm I didn't play dbd for 50 hours past completing the rift, I played it for about 70 hours for the 70 days it was open, that is 1 hour a day, average or so. I got tier 70 before i finished the tome levels, I also paid for the battle pass with the 1000 auric cells I got from the first rift.
You forget that some of these required 3-5 times if you got what you needed each mach. so not only would you get at minimum 3 rift shards (I'd get about 400 xp maybe 500 per match). In addition to the 3 shards for completing the challenge. then say it took another 2 matches to get the next 3 rift shard challenge and one more shard plus more towards another shard, that is 3+3+4 = 10 shards in 5 matches.
For instance 5 unbroken emblems of gold or better takes atleast 5 matches, at minimum in a general sense that will be 3 shards from match XP, then another 3 shards for the challenge. Now next challenge being done is escape the trial 2 times through the hatch, this is done in 2 matches which will at minimum get you generally 1 more shard. so that's 4 shards ontop of the 6 shards just for the 2 challenges. Your math IS correct, but your logic is flawed. you forgot to add up how many optimal matches where you got everything you needed without missing while working on the tome itself. I ended up having to grind out another 50 shards max because I don't play optimally every match after I completed the tome.

No because body blocking doesn't force the killer to lose, can be 100% hard countered with perks, doesn't hold one player hostage for 2 minutes, and overall doesn't force another player to just lose all fun and then punish them on top of that.
ok first of all face camping does not hold the game hostage, the player can 1) wait it out, 2) not struggle on hook and move on, 3) teammates can come distract the killer and rescue you with borrowed time etc. and 4) wait it out like a champ and keep the killer there while the rest of the gens are done being a GREAT teammate. if not look at my previous post and realize that if this is happening more than 50% of your matches it may not be the killer intending on it but getting upset at your play style.

first of all, it IS part of the game. you just don't like it, we get it and everyone here agrees with you that it's just not a good thing to do for the killer. it's not for the reasons stated above. being that close to the hook they are loosing emblem points, as well as not gaining new blood points by chasing and killing the others.
a point here though is you may not like it but does it happen to you all the time? every time? perhaps there is a reason behind that. something else is there may be other reasons that don't even involve you but if it's every match or more than 50% of your matches perhaps they see what you do as toxic so they do that to you. (I am in no way saying this is true but it IS a possibility)

That is correct, but it still encourages the use of a Mori.
I was confident enough in my ability as Doctor to do it without a Mori, and won't do it when I get to Spirit either, but someone who isn't as confident in their ability as these Killers will likely bring a Mori to increase their chances of getting it done.
hell mori's are used commonly already. people will do it because of the rift, and people will do it without the rift challenges. it's part of the game, as are keys. I challenge you all to come up with better challenges.

first of all to get the "coin" you can do that at any time if you do the tome, even after the rift is closed. The tomes are not "grindy" and it is not meant that EVERYONE will get to the end, you've gotta work at it to get to tier 70. do all the challenges and you get most of the rift done.

Regardless of if you read what I said or not you still seem to be treating it like I'm saying that the developers have to listen to every opinion of every person, and consider every single person banning a character. That isn't what I'm saying.
Somebody else brought up League of Legends, and I used to play that a lot and remember a time a character named Kassadin had literally a 99% ban rate or something crazy like that because he was just too much for other people to go against and it was blatantly unfair. The numbers spoke in that situation pretty clearly. If a similar situation were to happen in DbD and the devs had the data, they wouldn't have to change every killer just because somebody bans them. It would just be another piece of data they could look at, like the stuff they do now.
As for the consequences of longer queue times and all that I already stated how I feel about that. Trying to play a stronger killer, or annoying killer for that matter, even without any "bans" or anything you'll still run into more games where people are less inclined to try if they don't want to. I'm also personally into playing many different killers and I'm of the opinion that if somebody wants to "main" a character and only play that character in most game's they'd be setting themselves up for disappointment. As a result, I think it's healthy to get into several characters and try different things out. Naturally the system would punish players who only like to abuse the most strong or toxic things, as the system would end up banning those sorts of things, but that's the kind of price a highly contested pick would have to pay sometimes. And I think it's a small price to pay personally.
And no, I don't just want to only play with a couple friends for the rest of my time playing DbD, thank you very much. I'm not much of a people person anyway.
But once again, don't try to twist what I'm saying to make it sound like I think "every killer that gets banned must have a problem and has to be looked at. I don't even understand where you're getting that stuff from.
I did NOT say you were saying that, I said that would end up being the end result of your suggestions. You taking it that way is all your doing. I never touched league of legends and i never commented on anything about league because i know next to nothing about it. obviously you don't like what you think you read into what i said. so you will never back down from a position that is not tenable and an idea that isn't going to work in this game.
