You're just reading into things that aren't there. Nowhere did I say every single killer that anybody were to "ban" would have to change. It's an obvious point that I'm not sure how you missed: high ban rates might indicate a certain problem at times. Stop trying to stretch what I'm trying to say.
oh I read it.. and with thousands of people that you alter one then they start saying alter x or revert the alterations. it's happened here too.... only because people didn't want the new changes. this is another reason allowing people to "ban" from their games certain killers or maps is a mistake. why? because 1) people are fickle and change their minds a great deal, 2) people as a rule are stupid when it comes to herd mentality much like lemmings (notice i used general terms not specific) and finally 3) it's pointless. you don't want to face one killer, then play with your friends, you get everything at all times so you don't need blood points and forget the "ranked" aspect. when you play only with your friends you can make that rule and it doesn't affect anyone else but them.

I think it's a good idea simply because if you're not for it then you're going to have to deal with people who don't want to play against you anyway and deal with *even more* queues and/or people disconnecting or letting themselves die on hook, or simply not trying.
I also agree with the idea that if a lot of people are "banning" something then that probably indicates that said thing needs to be changed. I don't see a ton of Nurse for example, but I still would rather just have the option to not play against her than have to get into a game with her and have that "sigh here we go again against her, time to hold m1 brainlessly on something until it's over." Because that's how Nurse games feel to me. And if a killer makes somebody feel like that for several people and is constantly getting banned... Well... I think you see the point.
The way I see it anyway, if somebody is so "bad" and that's the only reason they don't want to play against a killer, then they probably should be playing against easier killers anyway, and the people that are comfortable handling a killer will give that killer a better fight too. Would give a reason for people to play less popular killers as well, to not have to suffer through trash queue times for playing a boring killer.
Again, all just my opinion, but I just see it as, if you're not for something like this you're just accepting the other side of it, which is the decreased quality in your games.
"if someone is going to "ban" something then it needs to be changed. i know a great many survivors and each one has a different killer they don't want to face. so do we change every single one? or do we realize the real issue is that we are talking about catering to EVERYONE that doesn't like something. if we continue to cater to people like this then we'll change one thing one day then revert the change the next! I mean if you want to run a game like that please do so but i won't play it, why? because things will change on a whim and make game play unstable and unnecessarily hard in the fact that it will constantly change because someone didn't like X, Y or Z and then someone else didn't like that change so it got reverted.

Great mental gymnastics! I would say you are on Olympics mental gymnastics champion level! Just so you know, the part that you have quoted isn't the end of my post. There is a continuation and i highly recommend you to read it.
you responded to the comment where i mention ONLY "map avoids" screaming about "killer avoids". At least read full post before commenting something.
you know, I actually did both post and i responded because i did not like how you were dismissing everything, even then map avoidance is not a good thing either. don't like a map? put up an offering to go some place you like. simple as that, otherwise deal with it for the time you're on it and move on. (edit, added the rest) how will you deal with offerings to go to a certain map? I mean if only one person puts up an offering to go to say "the game" and no one else puts up a map offering and one of the 5 people say nope won't play on the game. now what? remove that one not wanting to go, take time WHILE loading to put another in their place? abort loading? what?
yes edited, why? i just thought of the last part i just added.

Honestly we need to get people on both sides of this to stop being crap heads about things. I played doctor last night, having rancor on I got to mori the obsession, I used a survivor pudding offering as well and at the end one person said "you are a gross doctor with a mori!" I was flabergasted they didn't even look to see what my load out was. the person played nea, so i said "you are a gross nea" being flippant and sarcastic they then proceeded to berate me publicly (on their live stream as well as their friend's live stream). This is what people are doing that is bad, they are not liking how someone plays a game and uses the tools given to them!
today i was playing and said something about noed on a nurse... didn't say it was crappy to use or good but another survivor decided I was being derogatory and then later they were the best survivor as they were the one to escape did 3 gens what were the rest of us doing? well running from the killer and keeping the nurse occupied. NO one was berating him for not being noticed as that happens. This thread shows the "ENTITLEMENT" that some people see survivors having. If you can avoid a single killer (or map) what do the killers get to avoid? just the map? I mean all survivors are really are skins. killers have a specific power and I like that in general it's great that you have to learn a good deal but stop making it all about the survivors. if you have 4 survivors and 1 killer in every match, and you loose 10 killers to attrition but all the same survivors in the game you'd have 40 survivors waiting in the wind for a match. however out of 10 killers and 40 survivors then lost 10 survivors you would have 3 killers waiting for matches. how does that math stand? stop being crap heads to each other on either side and just play the game.

Are you deprived of the eyes or suffering from severe case of dyslexia? How did you manage to see "avoid killer" in "avoid maps"?
from this part of your FIRST (OP) post here: "So i thought that implementation of "killer avoid" system might lower the amount of frustration. Let me explain: you will be able to avoid killer and you will not be matched with them. For example: you don't enjoy slugg-involving Oni's playstyle, so you avoid him as a killer and he will not appear in you games until you remove him from your list. Also time restriction is likely to be added to prevent permanent avoidance of certain killers for them not to have endless lobby simulator."
7th and 8th word is "killer avoid" thus we are still talking about both of them when I responded. guess you don't have as good of a memory as the written word.
-
@Seegson said:
Ok. I got it. You don't like waiting in the lobby as a killer but enjoy games where survivors kill themselves on the first hook and you get minuscule amount of BPs and lose pip. But what about the second part of my suggestion? Why no one is saying anything about "avoiding maps" this will benefit both sides.
how will letting people say i won't play against clown help the clown main get out of waiting for a lobby??? it WONT.
-
@Seegson said:
We all know that the implementation of the DC punishments has lead to drastic increase in the usage of the alternative way to prematurely leave the game also know as hook suicide.
Early hook suicides basically equal early DCs because those fractions of seconds while the killer transports the survivor to the hook mean virtually nothing to the survivor team.
So i thought that implementation of "killer avoid" system might lower the amount of frustration. Let me explain: you will be able to avoid killer and you will not be matched with them. For example: you don't enjoy slugg-involving Oni's playstyle, so you avoid him as a killer and he will not appear in you games until you remove him from your list. Also time restriction is likely to be added to prevent permanent avoidance of certain killers for them not to have endless lobby simulator.
We have 19 killers so having at least 2 avoid options will not be a big deal.
Alternative system that can be implemented is "avoid map". This will work for both killers and survivors. For example you hate Ormond being too big and having way to many safe pallets, so you add Ormond to your "avoid list" and you will not be playing on it as long as it stays in your "avoid list". If a map offering that contradicts your or any player in the lobby "map avoid list" is used it will not be burned and will just return to the inventory of the player who used it. I see no reasons to add time restriction to the "map avoids"
Furthermore, these systems will not only lower the frustration of playing Dead by Daylight, but will provide the dev team with the statistics of the most frustrating/unfun killer or map in the game that might lead to future rework/balance adjustment of particular killer/map
sure lets also add in avoid decisive strike and commodius tool boxes. lets completely make the survivors not play when they feel oppressed and make the killers play all the time and wait in long ass lobbies and say it's cool. with the quarantines going on and people on internet etc. lets just make it so you can select what perk load outs you will allow the killer to have too! oh yea that's a great one. the problem here is not the frustration the survivors have it's the frustration the players that actually want to play and have fun on either side can't because of entitlements like this OP post.
Basically the OP is hey lets let survivors play only what they want, and crap on the ones that play killers. good idea, REAL GOOD... NOT! (btw the good idea remark, it was sarcasm).

I had a different bug today, I grabbed a pink key with a weaved ring out of a chest today with plunderers + ace and then died keeping the key and the add-on.
hmmm must be because of the ace perk keeping the add ons specifically in the match. interesting, did you happen to report that bug?
-
did the killer have franlin's demise? if so the key was out of your hand when you died more than likely and thus the weaved ring wouldn't work. the key has to be in hand at death for that to work.
@p1ague said:
Apparently it's been a "bug" for at least 3 years now, so I think you have to call it intentional at this point. The rationale I can think of is, when you're hooked and the sacrifice completes, you lose this key and add on when you drop them, not when you die. 😝 So maybe it's only for Mori kills?
I've never encountered this except once and i found out about franklin's demise that day!
-
First of all if you have an issue with this, do you have an issue with the three generators that are so close together that unless a killer is close or very fast travel, three survivors can have them done before the killer get across the map?
Honestly the killer probably played a purple oak or a green oak to bring hooks closer to each other. hooks are randomly placed and there is a metric the game does to place them beyond the fact that a hook can not face outside of the map (spawing next to a wall and facing outside the play area and thus is unusable) they must not interfere with other structures on the tile as well as the final metric really that they can not be within X meters of each other without modification (the oaks). some maps are smaller and have a smaller X than others with a larger map and larger X so it's hard to say if this was due to a bug, or an offering.

Sence our DBD New Update players inventory has been getting low at a high cost. Inventory gets used up alot faster than it used to and it cost way to many blood points to buy, so we say if we lose our inventory that fast we should pay a lower blood cost to keep our inventory at least manageable. It make players not even want to spend blood points it is pointless.
First of all killers have for the last 4 years pretty much lost every single add on they have had, and survivors have kept their item (power) and add ons if they survive. I'd say it's about time for the game to catch up to the survivors. This means you have to be judicious of what add ons you use in each match, some times it's not worth it to bring them and sometimes it is, up to you how you play. at least NOW you keep your item (power) each match if you survive. Your choices are: use your blood points on one survivor and max out your holdings or spread your points on multiple survivors :)

The main issue I have is that the majority of the addons arent worth the cost now. Even BNP dont seem to do much (esp compared to what they were), some key addons are a nice bonus but again, not worth the cost and likelihood of being tunneled regardless of key quality.
While I do like that its balanced between killers and survivors both losing their addons, I feel that killer addons actually do something but survivors dont. I think the addons need to be re-evaluated (be it cost, rarity or function).
Speaking about a brand new part.... you get 25% progress on a gen by hitting the two skill checks. that's still very substantial on TOP of the box adding to the gen at the time as well. I'm sorry you can't bring 4 BNP's and get 4 of 5 gens done in 10 seconds over all. Survivor add ons do a great deal of things and can be very detremental to the killer's game as theirs is of yours. also the killer has one set of powers that the survivors learn about almost imediately. Seeing a trapper's trap, seeing a pig's RBT puzzle box, seeing the clock around your avatars at the bottom right for freddy, hearing the spirit's phasing, hearing doc's and oni's terror radius, hearing the nurse blink, hearing bubba and billy rev their chainsaw. Yet the killers can't know what power you have nor have any real indication of what add on's you have as you can change your power out.
There is a great deal of things a killer doesn't know about survivors and the survivors gain a great deal of knowledge on first seeing something example: Claudette having a tool box, what tool box is it? what add ons are on it? now that's one example of the fact all a killer knows is the claudette may be going to do gens or they might sabo hooks. Now take trapper: Survivor sees a trap and it's very dark they know the killer now (trapper) and one of two add ons a tar bottle to make traps darker. what next? you watch the trapper set a trap at the shack window and then suddenly around the corner he sets a second trap without reloading, and following a short time he sets a third trap this narrows his other item to a stitched bag (purple) especially if he hadn't picked one up before or a yellow bag. so now all the survivors know everything about the trapper and he knows you have 2 tool boxes, a medkit and a map. not much information at all.
-
Honestly if you are high rank, you are at the mercy of the other side to pip or even de-pip. the emblem system is not working perfectly but it's better than using blood points to determine if you pip or not. There are also issues with it on survivor side. one of the emblems survivors get assesed on specifically says "the ability of the survivor to not be seen by the killer" it only rewards you well if you are right next to the killer and he doesn't notice you. this should also reflect those that are on gen duty or end up on gens because they tend to get hooked across the map from where you are on a gen and others are right there for the save so why get off the gen when others will get it before you get there and thus a gen was not finished and ruin regressess it or the killer kicks it?
Thing is it should not be as easy as it is to pip up into the high ranks. It should progressively get harder to pip up and be hardest in the red ranks. sure you get people that suicide on hook but if you play a great deal it ends up not being such as big of an occurance till it is time for rank reset as seen in this past rank reset. you let someone get out that is why you didn't get a pip (you were 1 emblem level away from pipping. you had 12 out of 16 possible emblem points you needed 13 to pip up 1 pip.

Also all of those complaints seem like really biased opinions from a killer main... Just saying.
Aiming Down Sights is what it is called when you use M2 (or what ever button it is on your console/computer as you've assigned). You are looking down the barrel of the deathslinger's gun. (aiming down it's sights) there is no damage per second here really, nothing associated with an attack really
-
and causes the devs to lose dev time! and it is petty and they ignore it. I only report because of something breaking TOS... including DC (don't submit the second form just the scoreboard report as it's still listed there.) thing is people don't know what reporting is used for and think you can report someone to twitch because they didn't let you go for what ever reason.

Interesting what is this crash log thing you mention, how do i send such in? I've this happen to me several times, showing two dc's, one the killer and the other apparently me. I definitely do not wish to get dc penalties and/or banned once the ded servers are back up for Xbox.
If the game fully crashed as in completely stops a window pops up and you can ignore it or click send report. then there is a log you can get information oh where the other log is in the bug section here on the forum. also you would submit a ticket and attach that log there.

Let's be honest. The people who used to disconnect instead just kill themselves on the first hook now. That's IF they aren't just eating the first five minute penalty within a 24 hour period or a 15 minute penalty if they happened to disconnect twice. "But hey! They killer gets more bloodpoints this way at least!" not a lot more, and they could've solved that by just giving everyone more bloodpoints for a disconnect and maybe combined it with a 15 minute penalty instead of one that escalates.
I'd rather they use in match functionality than going out of the match to disconnect. survivors have a chance to save them even then. hell you can save someone suiciding on second hook if you're right there!

I was at the end of a game as survivor against death slinger and the doors got opened but the killer had a Dwight on his shoulder and I was going to try to get him , the game froze it said that I dc’d and that the killer dc’d . I know I didn’t and I have a hard time believing that the killer did and I got a ban for it. They need to fix this ASAP .
I am sorry this happened but others before abused the disconnect and thus the problem is not that you got dc'd but did you report the crash to behavior with your logs? or did you just not worry about it and relaunch like most people do? If you do not let them know when you crashed, give them your logs in order for them to look at they can't see what is going on. It is also possible the issue was your computer but without the logs I do not know.
-
you are supposed to report at the scoreboard screen first then you are to go to the customer support site (or in game settings then customer support) and select create a ticket. you can then select additional player information. fill out the form and what happened. you can give them links to the video or include it in an upload at the bottom of the ticket if it's small enough. this is the same for any issues you have in game (bug or player report). I do it all the time when i'm called the N word and other things just as bad.

I never said there was data or that they do dc. But in case of they'll be penalized. could you imagine being a new player hopping on killer being a bby and going against someone like noob3 or ayrun or ussylis just examples. I wouldn't want to play anymore if that happened to me. Ive got 5000 hours so I can still deal with it. but im just pointing out these devs cater to the newbies but allow matchmaking like this
this line says you know this is happening and why "they dc because of this or are just plain old discouraged from playing because of the nonsense matchmaking throws their way." the point of the dc penalty is to stop people from dcing. but guess what? you're looking for a way to remove the penalty to let others or yourself (not saying you would or not just throwing out all posibilities) can. I think there should be something that says why they can not queue up or something like that, but otherwise it's good over all.
-
@ill_Boston_lli said:
I totally understand why the penalty was implemented but you punish killers that are new because they are rank 17 with nothing but one or two general perks or the unique perks of the killer they use but they are getting teams that are all red ranks with meta builds and are getting stomped. If you truly wanted to keep new players you would figure out how to stop this. they dc because of this or are just plain old discouraged from playing because of the nonsense matchmaking throws their way. Why is this happening @Peanits
where is your data to support that killers rank 17 and lower are dcing because they are getting stomped and new? i didn't even know how to d/c when i was new!
-
also do your dailies. they net you 20K to 60K for doing it. 60K is mori, 20K are some of the easier challenges. also do the Tomes, tome 1 still exists but does not advance the rift, but blood points are still there. tome 2 is active now. good luck!
-
1) matching was altered in order to hide the swf there as killers were dodging lobbies that had people load in together. now they are loading in together if there are 4 people (3 people plus one rando, etc) they may or may not be a swf.
2) the only way to remove swf is to remove the capability to invite your friends and they made that easier than it was before, I doubt they are going to drop SWF all together. Many people would stop playing this game if they can't play with their friends. all other games SIMILAR (not the same) as dbd allow people to form teams before going in. I know I'd stop playing as much if not all together.
3) Servers are here and operating they have gone no where. sometimes there are not enough people in a queue to put 4 in with one killer so yes it is still possible to catch the 2 man and 3 man teams. Still if 4 load in at the same time it is possible but not guarented to be a 4 stack swf.

I don't have the answers. I won't claim to. The devs call it a "tactic" and half the community disagrees.
People will call on "the rulebook" but I just see it as not being a tool.
It'd be nice to have some hidden system that takes into account people who regulary DC, face camp, tunnel and all that other fun stuff and prioritise matchung those players together similar to the DC gell that one of the Street Fighter games implimented.
well we have a visible system for tunneling called DS. then we have the dc penalties, and if you look in the emblems killers loose emblem progress (not blood points) for being to close to the hook, this includes picking up traps, setting traps etc. so it's there. just probably not the "tool" you wanted. I understand people being upset by it but if they just want the one kill then they camp letting the other three do gens and totems the whole time. sucks for the one being camped but it's part of the whole. there is not much more to do against face camping. Slugging only has the mechanicof un-break-a-bill, or no mither getting up, or people healling the slugs up.

They can't, but we can band together as a community and try to put a stop to it. The devs have given us the tools, but we as a community now have to keep these people in check so we don't have another League of Legends or DOTA 2 case where the community is so toxic and the game hard to get into because of a few people spoiling the experience for eveeryone.
how can "WE" ban together and put a stop to something the devs have said is a tactic, though not so nice of one? I mean there isn't much the community can do but play the game... sure you don't like it leave the match some how, up to you how you do that. but what of the killer, unlike them you have a choice to struggle or not. their only way of "quitting" is to stop moving and just go afk while the survivors do what ever for 5, 10, 20 minutes. Or they could use the perks they have, just like you can choose to use or not use the perks you have. come on be realistic there isn't anything anyone can do about camping. the survivor rulebook does not exist except as comedic trope in samination's and other's minds.
I play both sides, I get tilted at game play every so often but I take a break from the game.

It does count, you may just be bugged.
I've gotten 20 sacrifices today and am at 3/13 sacrifices for a challenge. ######### happens.
if 1 is bugged more than one is affected and it needs to be known this is happening.
actually i probably should have put this in the bug section not here... wasn't thinking
-
-
two times in a row it did not count and there were intervening hours between them. so no it does not, as i would have completed it with this match i JUST did to proc B:. and I described another where I proc'd BL making the killer wiff that time but still didn't count.
-
IF you are having hard times getting a match contact the devs via the ticket time with video proof of what you say (would be best) and let them know your location and they may have other questions for you but they possibly could look to why you aren't getting a match quickly.
-
IF there is a bug that prevents the game from completing there are a few things you need to do, 1) get video/picture evidence, 2) you or killer dc's, 3) you report the incident via the ticket system in order to report the issue. will you get a penalty for this? yes, but you are also working to help them fix the issue with the evidence of the bug, especially in video so they know a time code to go to.

i mean if survivors had a bug where they couldnt walk i mean sure basekit urban would be fine. but fortunately they do not have that.
there is a bug that causes them to be stuck in the healing animation. this hasn't been addressed either. You are begging for something you already have. learn to use it, don't ask for more just because you can't play around a bug that is there till it gets found and is fixed. have you sent your computer logs and game logs to the devs when the bug happens? I would bet you haven't even tried because you think they won't touch it. well I'm telling you they WILL touch it and work with it and get more information. you just want more to play with you want a 5th perk with out it being called a perk. you want the survivors to be at a disadvantage, you don't even care that you are over powering the killers and allowing everyone playing a killer to take another perk instead of deerstalker. if you don't want to use what tools you have either 1) stop playing till it's fixed or 2) accept it and play as you are now. You offered the solution but it doesn't have to be programmed in by the devs, it has to be accepted by the players to use the perk you are offering as a bandaid fix that could easily break the game in ways you can't even fathom. I'm DONE with this silly thread, I notice that no dev has weighed in on this because they 1) as you said, don't have a fix yet and 2) see the solution already in the game and don't need to add more coding into the game. (those 2 are my thoughts only and not official responses).

You get a base kit addon, then the survivors get a base kit addon.
Why are you making this an "Us vs. Them?" This is about fixing a BUG.
I am so glad you didn't even mention the fact that I did agree I was wrong above.... interesting, most would have said thank you for acknowledging it but you are just that type of person it seems. this is why you don't see what is wrong with only one side having something extra.
because it's about balance. what you propose will further unbalance things as it is. example: survivors have 4 perks, killers have 4 perks plus a basekit deerstalker addon. normally these killers decide if they want deerstalker because hey it's huntress i need to see those i drop due to a snipe shot etc. now they can add a different 4th perk that synergizes with deer stalker and the other 3 perks so in essence the killers now have 5 perks they use and survivors have 4. this is why both sides have access to the same number of perk slots, to prevent this idea from being used.
FINE you want that added to the base kit. while the devs are at it we will have them remove one perk slot to make it balanced. oh but this is not a full perk it's only a portion of a perk. so you want to have something extra and not give something extra to those you go against, sounds like you are looking for a way to add the extra power so you can win! oh you are sooo slick.

That's not a solution. A solution fixes the problem. What you propose sidesteps it. At my expense.
Also:
you also did say that it doesn't always help you because you still don't find them all the time even with the perk on
No I didn't.
Then become a dev for Behavior and affect the change since you obviously know it's the only solution and you are right all the time. You get a base kit addon, then the survivors get a base kit addon. it's only fair, 5 perk killers are much more over powered than 4 perk killers with there is only 4 perks on each survivor. if it works for you then it works for everyone equally. you just can't deal with anything but your "normal" where as I am able to work with more than one situation, if I find I'm loosing people because I slug them I add deer stalker on instead of something else. I'm sorry you are locked in to 4 minuscule perks and can't play the game without just those 4.
Also YOU ARE CORRECT. my apologies it had been a while and it was not you that said you had an issue with it. I formally agree that statement is in error and I retract it.

I have a simple request , is it possible to stop injured people from doing gens except if you have a perk that allows it ?
Survivors who're injured shouldn't be able to repair (in all logic they shouldnt be able to use any sprint perks but well) their guts are about to spill on the floor but 'oh yeah lets repair' can we get some logic here please? :)
that then takes out perks that feed off an injured state. this is a video game simulating 80's horror style movies and they get injured and then they do lots of trap building and what not.no other reason.

matchmaking is a little iffy right now, i would suggest taking a break if it is that big of an issue.
I know it is. I just put this here so they could see it. and that it'd be in their sight how many it affects. I deal with it and play the matches even with the mismatched groups.

the devs have already stated that they have no idea what is causing this bug. meaning they have no clue how to fix it. i dont understand why you would be opposed to this bandaid fix.
because the fix is already in game, people just don't want to change and do something different. if the killers get a base kit change, then survivors get urban evasion as part of their base kit. or how about calm spirit??? would you accept that? no you wouldn't because it would change how you have to deal with things. I play killer and I play survivor. I don't care what my rank is because I get matched with rank 1's as my killer and i get matched with rank 1-4s as my survivors but I will gripe but understand it is working. I also know how over all hard this addition would be. once it's added no killer will use that perk, even those that use it already as now "HEY I'll have 5 perks on!!! WOOHOO!!!" but survivors have to stick to 4. no, this bug is not as wide spread as you think... I personally have never had the bug when I play so if the devs don't know what's causing it, it sounds like the issue is on the computers being affected, possibly it's a code interaction with their os set up or something like that. I can't say without even having that bug affect me.

I'm not wasting a perk slot, and I'm not accepting the existence of the bug. The only things I will accept are things that fix the issue without having to change how I play the game.
then you should stop playing if you won't take the solution you offered that was already in the damn game. sorry you don't like having to alter your game play to help you but you also did say that it doesn't always help you because you still don't find them all the time even with the perk on, so again adding the effect of the perk to all killer's base kits will net you no help what so ever I'd suggest finding a better bandaid fix.

then accept the bug is there, don't ask for extra programming time for a perk that you can use. I do.
No, because that is also not acceptable. Either fix the problem, or give us an acceptable substitute that doesn't come at the players' expense.
then use the perk that is available that you want to have devs take extra time away from working on the issues by programming in something that is already in game. you are the ones (those wanting something extra that is available) that would cause it to take even longer to fix.

This adds nothing to the discussion not even a reason why its their fault, this is a ideal band aid fix for broken sounds.
you know it is not an ideal fix because it involves taking too much of the dev's time when the perk is available to any killer already.

Going down a full perk slot is not an acceptable substitute.

Imagine being mad at default 5m deerstalker. Learn to gg
mad? nah not mad... laughing because you have access to the same perk already... if you don't like it then don't play till you confirm it is fixed. why take the dev's time in order to get a bandaid that is already available. let them work on the issue instead of wanting them to work on something that would delay the fix.

Sounds like a good idea honestly, but I honestly wonder what causes that bug. I mean its not the first time that the sounds are getting broken after a patch. I wonder why this is such a huge issue that comes up over and over again.
It would be great to know what is causing it but I doubt we'd ever know. it may not even be in the game either, it could be something else causing audio issues on a computer, i personally have never had an issue of my audio to be cut like is described here.

Ok, you got me.
I will admit your argument makes sense.
Thing is when people want devs to bandaid something like this in, usually they are hoping the devs just decide to leave it in because it's too much trouble to pull out. what they don't realize is everything they want (faster fixes) doesn't get helped by wanting something else added in.
I've seen people complain why games have bugs like mmo expansions, dbd dlcs etc. well honestly you have to look at a single program and realize that just the core program probably has millions of lines of code. each one with a potential interaction with something new that will break the content already there. when that happens everyone says "well it's not hard to code, they must be idiots or incompetents." no one realizes how hard it is to find one small typo that causes the program to just stop working right. I was working with a small micro controller where I wanted it to have lights blinking in a specific order but mine didn't work and it turned out i had one BYTE incorrect in another register that stopped it from working. took 4 people helping me find my error and almost 3 hours of trouble shooting. that was for about 500 lines of code (maybe even less because there was lots of white space in the program) not for a program that is a million lines long.
I look at these "demands" from the point of view of a programmer, not just a player, who has to make sure their piece of the pie is correct and then the qa has to look at it, and then they have to have the testers to test it, and hope they test every combination of variables. We players feel so entitled because we feel we know everything that goes on behind the scenes because we've seen documentaries and some have in field experience. this type of issue comes up as well when talking about disconnects (network/unintentional, not the intetntional dc's) many people don't understand that the network of computers/routers that one goes through just for a connection is more than two (user and the server). Also this comes in with people who complain that their game crashes but doesn't even look at the logs on their computer to see what the issue was, it has to be the dbd program instead of the open web browser that tried to access the memory set asside for the dbd game but causes dbd to "crash"

Jesus.
Please try reading my response properly, and remember that the OP original issue/complaint is the current bug where survivors can sometimes be 100% silent in the downed state, which is completely broken.
He is suggesting a TEMPORARY bandaid fix of base Deerstalker with a 5 metre range ONLY UNTIL the sound is fixed/restored.
I haven't encountered this bug myself, but till then equip deer stalker. simple solution, requires no intervention from the devs what so ever. what is being suggested here is that the devs write code, then proof it against millions of lines of other code to make sure it doesn't break anything else, then later after fixing the issue they then have to go back into the code and remove the lines they added in to "bandaid" fix the issue and hope they didn't remove the wrong information. This then has to be applied to each killer individually so that is a great deal of "bandaid" fixing TWICE each.
Yet what you both don't get is all you have to do in this case is equip the perk that was suggested to be added to the base kit. since hey deerstalker is a general perk, not a teachable perk from anyone killer. So with my solution, the devs only have to devote time to fixing the issue instead of devoting time to changing all killers twice plus fixing the issue in a manner that is much more streamlined way and takes no dev time from them.
ALSO: ln his own response to me, he said that he STILL looses them with deerstalker on, so again I say how is this any kind of bandaid fix for anything if this guy can't even reliably use the perk?

Those are subpar solutions.
The devs are all too aware how necessary it is for the killer that downed survivors still make grunts of pain. It entirely breaks the game and makes it almost close to impossible for a killer to find the survivor unless they intentionally stay idle and allow the crows to gather.
If it weren’t overpowered or broken, then Iron Will would be extended to the downed state, and they wouldn’t have limited No Mither to a 50% reduction in noise in the downed state. But the perks are as they are because the devs are 100% clear how broken that is without Deerstalker or Bloodhound (which No Mither still counters anyway).
Iron Will 3 will not stifle any grunts or moans of pain from the survivors. and it's subpar to suggest the deer stalker perk for the person wanting to add the same perk to the killer's base kit just because they can't find them? and then later tells me that with deer stalker he still looses them? what good is this suggestion then?
-
You want something that you get as a generic perk added to the base kit of a killer because ** YOU ** specifically have a hard time, yet others like me who have also had a hard time locating survivors have done, taken DEER STALKER. they can't crawl faster than you can walk even with tenacity so you watch where they are going and you can get them because deer stalker highlights their AURA! wow.... what a solution to your problem. please let me get in your killer lobby where you can't find me when i'm on the ground I want to laugh.

You can tell they're cheating by how they employ the lag. A normal lagging player isn't going to wait until they're rubberbanding to run past the killer and through a pallet like they are. It's clear from how they're playing that they now when they're going to lag
you know this how? It's almost as of you were there. I'm sure you weren't but you can't know that they are using it, there are times that this can happen and when in proximity of two network connected signals (killer and survivor) the server might be seeing lag due to the current ping between the two. it could easily just be something is fluxuating and happens just at the right time. sure you could know 100% it's cheating but then again so could 1 million people get the same lotto numbers with power ball.

it really isnt , especially if I'm right on top of them and still can't here em
again.... USE DEER STALKER look down occasionally lol.... look for the "pick up" prompt on your screen if they are near your feet. lots of things to worry about.

So I'm sure a lot of us have played games where we either couldnt find a slugged survivor because they were completely silent or were that survivor.
I have a temporary solution for this issue , make deerstalker at 5 meters basekit.
This would help find silent slugged survivors . it wouldnt be too op because if they were not silent then you would find them from their noises without this fix.
Thoughts ?? let me know down below, like I said this is just an idea and a bandaid fix .
no if you loose them that's your fault..... nothing to do but use deerstalker

Remove the button spam from struggle phase.
This way if someone uses their 3 attempts instead of dying they automatically struggle for the duration and their teammates don't get hurt as much by being down a player early.
NO this is not right. there is in match functionality to try to escape the hook, and then there is in match functionality to struggle. Disconnecting is not an in match functionality selection, you must EXIT the match interface and enter the menu interface in order to click "leave match". this was done to prevent issues that kept the match indefinitely like stuck in geometry etc. the DC penalty that was "quitter bonus" was a bit of points to try and make up for the player who did not stay in the match. it doesn't work well that way, no matter what you do but I'd rather have a match where people kill themselves on hook than dc.
