  • Not a fan of going against Huntress, really. I don't like having Cadillac's thrown at me. Unpopular opinion, but until her hitboxes and dedicated server desync is fixed, I really have no real respect for Huntress mains who play her and act like the cock of the walk while she's in the state she's in, getting so much praise. You know 90% of those hatchets, on the survivors screen, were 10 feet to their left or right.

Hell, even when I play Huntress, there's a LOT of shots that hit, and shouldn't even from my point of view.

Other than that, I don't like going against Oni, because his hitbox for his demon strike...oof. Like, he'll slam his club down way over to my left, nowhere near me, but somehow, it counts as a hit. Not to mention, every Oni I encounter is a sweatlord.

Deathslinger can be annoying cause he's just a ranged Legion...who was already annoying....but eh.

  • Really, it's just SURVIVOR rank that doesn't matter. It's so blindly and ridiculously simple to rank up as survivor.

Killer isn't really "hard", but it's not the walk in the park Survivor is.

Why should people spend hundreds of dollars to upgrade their pc if the devs can just give us fps for free with a simple setting to turn of the most powerhungry effect in the game?

Despite, what are consoles supposed to do? Slap a NVIDIA 1080TI on the ps4 or what?

    U r such a bitter loser, honestly.

A bitter loser? How am I a bitter loser? I haven't lost anything o.O. Must be talking about yourself. You're the one who needs a new PC.

The fog is there for a reason, as are most of the other artistic choices in the game. To make sure everyone has relatively the same experience.

As for consoles, they should expect $400 performance. Which is more or less what they get. I play on PS4 pretty frequently.

  • BHVR in a nutshell. Spout hate speech in game, hack, do whatever you want...just don't disconnect from their game. Immediate action.

  • Imagine thinking people should be penalized/punished for playing with their friends. 90% of SWF's (probably more like 95%) are just people shooting the proverbial ######### with their friends. This "every SWF is a Seal Team 6 coordinated death squad of ultimate rectal reckoning" is absolute nonsense. Like honestly, there's an element of truth to the whole "git gud" mindset here.

I've seen this ones way to much in noob survs and killers, which ones do YOU think are noob perks?

This means that the perks in this list, for me, if you use them it's a waste of a perk slot.

    This are the ones, imo:

    Killer:

    • NOED in any killer except Legion, Clown, Plague and Micah the Cowboy. AND except for endgame or full hexes builds.

    Survivor:

    • Selfcare
    • DS (If you know how not to get hit you won't get tunneled)
    • Urban Evation (Fixated is faster and better)

Rank 1 killer and survivor, Xbox, Trapper, GF, Bill and Kate mains.

Self care - agree. It only really helps the killer, to be honest.

DS - agree. You can always tell who the DS users are. They go down first, and DC when they miss their skillcheck.

Urban - eh, not really noob, stealth is a playstyle.

NOED has a hard counter, and a soft counter. The hard counter can be completed before it even comes into play (destroy totems derp) and has perks/items to facilitate (small game, detectives hunch, maps). The soft counter is literally Hope. One of the most underused, undervalued and underrated perks in the game. Basically offsets the speed boost they get when NOED is active. It may be a noob perk, but it only really works on noobs. If you get hit by noed...well, there ya go.

  • Yeah, no. Get a better PC.

  • Basically "I can't loop or dodge dream snares, pls nerf".

Freddy is nowhere close to unbalanced or OP.

  • DS/BT/DH/AD need a "nerf" to fix how boring they are.

I have played this game since 2016 so you don't need to tell me about dilligence. I have encountered it when there were no dedicated servers and I know what it is though it was mostly used by killers. If you haven't encountared it in your whole playtime it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

You just saw an example of how it works and how survivors benefit from it. Do you want to say that being able to 1. wiggle free any time 2. Lock killer preventing him from interacting with anything - is a disadvantage??? I left the game after that because there was no use playing with this BS. I only regret not saving the end game chat.

And I am still waiting for some response from @Peanits at least. Maybe he could clear it up.

There's nothing to clear up. It is a SERVER or CONNECTION bug. It is IMPOSSIBLE for a lag switch to work in that way on a dedicated server. It would literally only work against the survivor, it would give them zero advantage.

I can guarantee you I have more networking experience than Peanits. That's why he's a community manager, and I work in Laval, administering a network for a medical outlet.

My next question would be... why are survivor statuses shown in the bottom left of the HUD? Do we REALLY not know that the game starts with 4 survivors?

It’s a quality of life request, not a counting issue.

It would have to be a counting issue in order for it to be a QoL issue; since it's literally only up to 3.

  • @MrCookie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1322323#Comment_1322323

It could have been BUT only if it happened to every survivor in the match. When it's a specific survivor at specific convenient times I can't understand how you can account it to "potato servers".

That's not how dedicated servers work. Not every survivor is on the same connection, using the same line to connect to said server. It could also be something broken in the link between the survivor and the server; and yes it can happen to just one survivor.

All the convenient times seem to be when more network activity would happen that needs registering, like score events during chases.

Perhaps do some due diligence before accusing people of lag switching. There are a number of plausible explanations. Especially since lag switching literally doesn't work that way on dedicated servers; and no survivor would do it intentionally because it would only put them at a disadvantage.

  • I think if you're offended by a person hitting the crouch button repeatedly, the issue is you, and not the player. Legit, harden up, ya big softie.

  • My first question would be...can you really not count to 3?

  • New killer: The Patriarch.

    I love this.

Could you watch the video and see for yourself? The same for @Frankie

As I said, that could have EASILY been down to the potato servers BHVR has deployed for their game. I've literally been told that I did the same thing by killers.

  • So, having worked with Unreal Engine in the past - what I can say here is this doesn't look like a survivor lag switching. A survivor lag switching wouldn't effect your own actions or movement. This sounds more like BHVR and their potato dedicated servers, or even your own connection.

I disagree. I get ready when I start hearing her lullaby, not her terror radius and I'm sure a lot of people do the same. I very rarely see anyone actually use M&A on huntress.

You can disagree - but this is the elusive example of an opinion actually being wrong. The point is, you can "get" ready when you hear her lullaby (if you're that immersed/scared), but it's non directional. So you're not going to know where she's coming from.

M&A is very common on Huntress - as it is on any other killer than isn't full movement speed.

  • I don't see why you couldn't just...use their teachable perks, then. Survivors are meant to appeal to identities, not to skills.

  • So, in posting that, you're proving exactly why they don't need nerfs. Most people who play a lot of killer have HOARDS of mori's. How do you get HOARDS of them...if you use them?

The truth is, they aren't that commonly used.

  • Yes and no. Yes, because it would offer variety. No because it would split the community amidst the already abysmal queue times.

BHVR would never do it though; because you can't justifiably sell a new game mode. So they wouldn't make a lot of money on it.

  • To be fair, OP, you were Legion.

  • @Jb94 said:

I don't know what the general consensus on the newer maps is, but I'm personally a fan of more complex structures and additions such as breakable walls. With each release I've become increasingly bored of older maps when I load into a game. Three in particular stand out as having outlived their usefulness. Each of the three default realms has an 'empty' map- one without a distinctive structure (shelter Woods, rotten fields and wreckers yard)- while these maps are classic, they just don't offer anything to the game that other maps don't (well OK, shelter woods tree should be uprooted and placed into the coal tower map so that balanced landing users finally stand a chance there).

I really think it would be cool if the map update could improve the complexity of the older maps in a similar way to the recent alterations to Thompson House (hell, I'd love to see this taken even further and having more structures and verticality added to older maps- lose half of suffocation pit and make it a proper 2 story map with a mine for example), but I realise this is asking a bit much. This certainly wouldn't be possible in (for Example) shelter woods- beyond a breakable wall in the shack there's no way to add complexity to this relatively barren map.

Back to my point though- the three maps mentioned above feel superfluous to the current game. I'd personally like to see them taken out of rotation so that I don't feel like I'm getting a dud game when I roll one of them.

Anyone agree or vehemently disagree on this front? I dunno if this is something that could be put into action but discussing it seems like the first step.

They're updating all the maps in year 4 (this year of the games life time). Complete with new assets etc, even more due to the graphics update.

In my opinion, I believe the DC system should start off easy then escalate rapidly.

    1. Warning Message
    2. 5 Minutes
    3. 10 Minutes
    4. 1 hour
    5. 2 hours
    6. 3 hours
    7. 12 hours
    8. 24 Hours
    9. Game Ban (follows DC ban esculation)

I like this idea; though I don't think there should be any sort of permanent ban for disconnecting from a game. So I'd go from 24 to 48, to a week, to a month. The longer the timeout is, the longer it takes to reset (like, a month time out right take 2 months to reset back to 0).

An idea that allows people to be paired with people who are prone to disconnecting and now each get one freebie DAILY sounds fairly outlandish to me.

It's not one per day - it's one per cooldown cycle.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1319288#Comment_1319288

It is not just one DC. It is one DC per day per player. That is A LOT of free DCs.

I mean, maybe it's not such an outlandish idea given the state of the game.

  • I should point out - you don't need a program to do this. BHVR in their infinite wisdom decided it was a good idea to store the killers ID in plain text, where anyone can open the file in notepad and find out who it is before the game starts. The programs just make the process easier. Does that make it right? No, of course not; but the problem is on BHVR, and them alone.

  • @Orion said:

    Is 5 minutes too long?

10 seconds would be too long if you didn't deserve it. Which is why they need to implement one free DC while their game is in the state it's in. People crashing during game, people unable to continue the game due to a bug (stuck in healing animation etc where EGC doesn't even end the game)...you don't add DC penalties to a game in the shape this one is in.

The second rate devs at BHVR need to get into the game, fix the broken spaghetti code, among MANY other technical issues, and THEN we can get rid of any free DC's. Until then, it's just a bunch of garbage.

  • @arslaN said:

As far as I know her lullaby isn't effected by M&A at all which makes it a pretty bad perk to use on her.

    WAT lol

M&A is awesome on Huntress. It doesn't effect the Lullaby, but being that her Lullaby is non-directional and gives no location of where she's coming from, M&A effecting the actual terror radius (heartbeat) allows her to get SO close to survivors.

  • I'm inclined to agree. With the penalties, as the cooldown happens, there should be one unpunished DC that should regenerate with the cooldown, simply due to the bugs in the game alone.

You literally said "I don't play a lot of survivor."

Using our thinking caps we can assume 50/50 is still a lot. So since you said you don't do that, a lot thing, it has to be under that. Which would then put you playing killer on the greater than 50% side. Which wait for it, would make that your main or go to side. So yes my friend, you did say you are a killer main. And you doubled down on it just now by citing your killer sided post history. jesus

I never said I was a killer main; and that doesn't even invalidate that you were too intent on looking witty to look at my post history and see "Oh, wait, he's not just saying it for status.". You were in the wrong here, period.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1318048#Comment_1318048

    Not really?

'...and just slug everyone early on' isn't descriptive enough. Sometimes I'll slug the first person I down in a match if I see a better target. I may even slug two if I see a third healing the first. I don't aim for them to bleed out, but opportunities present themselves, I need to take them. Slugging can be a lot more powerful than hooking when used right. Does that mean I'm playing badly?

If you said 'just slug everyone early on and force a bleed out,' then we'd be talking. It's the bleed out with no intention of ending it that is toxic.

Oh okay. Something that couldn't be taken any other way isn't descriptive enough.

Honestly, bud. Reach further. It's DBD. Early on means early on. Games are short. Good lord.

  • @Rivyn said:

There are two different types of slugging you failed to separate.

The first is when you slug for pressure. This is fine, and is a great slow down tool killers have.

The second is to slug, just to let them bleed out. I consider this toxic, and have suggested a 'suicide' option in the past. If you're at half of the bleed out timer or less, you can simply give up and die, moving on to another match.

I literally specified slugging at the beginning of the game. "There's one thing you failed to read" - and it was the OP.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Listen, Slugging is a choice and Games are about making choices, You are ALREADY getting a new perk tool to deal with slugging next patch.

You cannot seriously be talking about limiting Killer choices more at this time?

Apparently you either didn't read the post or were incapable. Either way, I urge you to either learn to, or actually read it. I said nothing about limiting choices.

Yes but at a certain point logic has to come into play here. Or else what are doing. He attempted to add more relevance to his statement by saying he was a killer main. So it is perfectly fine to challenge that fact.

Your logic would be valid...actually, no it wouldn't, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say it would, if you looked at my post history and seen how pro killer I am, and the numerous times I've fought on killer issues. But okay, sure. I used it this one time for relevance. Except...I didn't. I didn't even say I was a killer main in the original post. What's that you say? You lost your logic? Yeah, that's what I thought, boyo. Please, exit the thread and do your due diligence, then come back. Okay pumpkin?

It is possible for someone can play the same role as you and still disagree with your opinions about certain mechanics, as well as empathising with those who find those mechanics unenjoyable. It doesn't make them a liar.

This. I actually am a killer main; and I don't need to slug to get the job done; but maybe I should clarify, I am specifically talking about slugging before a gen has been done. It's just ridiculous.

What should NEVER happen (EVER) is a killer-player who is incapable of catching a survivor sticking to them for over a minute and a half, while they get looped to hell, and then coming to the forums and blaming the map design for their chase...not their own choices.

.ttv’s are streamers that usually bring 3 of the strongest loopers on their friends list and then go out and actively bully killers.

    Mori’s stop them having fun

Most of the biggest and most skilled streamers play solo survivor for the most part; and when they do SWF, they aren't super tryhard. They're just meming and having fun. If this makes you mori them...well, I'd say you have a personal issue.

  • I really don't see why anyone would make a list like that. Kind of makes you as bad as the person you target. Also, pretty sure targeting specific players is literally against the rules and reportable. Imagine admitting to it here.

Nice statistics. Where did you get them from? Or did you make them up?

Either way, I guess two of my friends who are currently in the hospitals and have a real chance of not making it must be a part of that "0.000001%" figure. Right?

    I'm also one of those people with a weak immune system. My mother is even more at risk than I am, but I digress;

Look, I'm not really interested in discussing the severity of the virus with you. Yes, I understand there's mass hysteria going on. Yes, I've seen people even buying like, 15 loafs of bread at once (don't know why bread; it expires really fast). People will freak out over any little thing at times. That doesn't mean the virus isn't a threat at all, especially if it mutates. If it mutates, we are going to have a major problem on our hands. Let's minimize that risk and the damage it could potentially do as best as we can, yes?

Just because it may not be a threat to you specifically, doesn't mean it's not a threat to others who's hysteria may be quite reasonable if they may be vulnerable to the virus, or know someone who is and just want to make sure they stay safe. And just because it may not be a threat now doesn't mean it cannot be a threat in the future, either.

At the end of the day, everyone lives in all sorts of environments and nobody's two living situations are the same. No doubt a lot of people are just being selfish; that's unfortunately a common trait with people. But for some people that hysteria may be very real and grounded.

At the end of the day, I'm going to be doing my part to stay safe because for one, I don't feel like getting infected because why would I (it's still probably going to happen with how bad it's getting where I live though), and two, to not spread the virus, because the last thing I want to do is unwittingly spread the virus and be partially responsible for someone ending up in the hospital or even worse, dead. If it's "0.000001%" as you say it is, then let's do our best to keep it that low or even make it lower, because if someone needs medical attention and they can't receive it because the hospitals are too flooded, then that's a needless death that could have been prevented, and to me, human life is something we should all be doing our best to try and preserve.

You're getting overly aggressive. I clearly said precautions need to be taken. Your cop out "I have two dying friends" argument is just that, a strong arm, BS, cop out argument. I'm sorry for your friends, I really am, but don't throw that crap at me.

You're like that person in line at the grocery store who says "let me go ahead of you, I have cancer". That's a garbage move and I'm done with you. Cool it, bucko.

I have had game after game after game of a mori in every game. Don't lie when you say that isn't normal. There are far too many moris and the requirements are far too lax in regards to being able to use them andmore often than not they are used in the same manner. Hook someone, pretend to leave, see unhook, tunnel, mori.

As for survivors taking the loss. I am happy to take the loss as a survivor when the killer hasn't played in a desperately pathetic manner. Doesn't bother me. I'm there to have a game not get hooked and stare at the doctor hitting me repeatedly for a couple of minutes because he can't risk someone getting unhooked.

Killers get to stay for the length of all games so a game never actually ends early for them and it certainly never ends in a minute like it can for a survivor.

If you're getting mori's every game, I'm either going to straight up call you a liar, or say get out of yellow/brown ranks, where mori's are most common. Keys are a much bigger problem than mori's. If mori's are "every game", the killer isn't ranking up. You don't rank up with a mori. Poof, it was that easy to destroy your argument. Gone. Just like that. I'm not a liar. You're a liar.

Either way, what you're saying is nonsense.

Essentially all you are is a survivor main pretending to be versed, at all, in killer gameplay. As evidenced by your quite blatant double standard. Somehow it's okay in your head for a survivor to do whatever they need to in order to win, but if a killer camps someone out to get a kill which could make the difference between win and loss (especially if you and your team are boosted enough to keep trying to save instead of doing gens, which sounds like the case from your outrage KEKW), then gosh darn they are scum.

As someone who plays killer a lot. If that happens to me I take the loss and move on. I don't have a tantrum and go out of my way to ruin games for people. If you can only enjoy a game if you're winning then you're playing the wrong game.

The other night I played a game against a tunnelling doctor with a mori. The first person dead left that game within a minute with 2500 points.

Killers don't mind doing that do they? They don't mind games ending early when it is because the survivors are dead but if the survivors get gens done it is tantrum time. Wah wah nerf toolboxes wah wah get rid of survivor perks wah wah gen times need to be quadrupled because I'm not winning.

I asked him why he had been such a dick with that guy from the start of the game and I got a load of ######### back about how he has only played against SWF tonight and everyone had been really toxic to him.

Yet in our group nobody had done anything and he was a piece of ######### to the us. Don't make out like killer mains are these wonderfully fun and inclusive players. They tend to be the biggest dicks playing the game. Hence the endless complaints about SWF, survivor items, survivor addons, survivor offerings pallets, windows and perks. It is constant moaning by them about absolutely everything.

So, as a killer you just take the loss and move on. Okay, if a survivor gets camped, they need to just take the loss and move on. Your mori argument is a strawman of epic proportions. It's not representative of normal gameplay. Mori's aren't that common. Killers don't have hoards of mori offerings because they "use them all the time".

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 14
