Be bombarded with hundreds of survivor videos, on how to loop this killer, how to loop this type of wall, what to do when X
In the meanwhile, there are like 2-3 good "How to killer" videos, and they're mostly older than 1 year
It's like every time i'm trying to improve as a killer, I only find outdated stuff or just basic bs like "be patient, plan carefully"
For example, until I started watching some particular Onryo main not a long time ago, I didn't even know that you always go invisible when you manifest and you can bait the survivor into thinking you're gonna go one way and then go the other
If you have any good videos/channels with explicit info on how to play as a killer please share them with me, I'm really an improvement junkie
I think some of the most well-known and biggest YouTubers are killer means like Otzdarva spooky loops, true talent, coconuts, Scott Jund as well as quite a few others I think there are more survivor videos because well more people play survivor it’s 4 versus 1 after all
-
I agree there are a lot of factors mentioned by others above and for me, ultimately this is an event mode - so just by not being the main mode, that distinction makes it less feel less stakes than 1 v 4.
i don’t play killer so I can’t comment on the specific stress factors but I think it probably applies for both sides - this game mode and the number of people involved can make some enjoy the chaos. The fact that you’re limited by who you can play and the perks you can choose means it’s nof enabling us to play the way we ideally would - therefore a loss is probably not gonna leave us feeling like our ideal loadout and strategy didn’t work.If this became an established main mode, I have no doubt stress would increase tenfold.

Demogorgon is a character that I really, really love, so I thought it would be a good idea to make a guide for them so new players or even experienced players can hopefully learn about aspects of Demogorgon that are not really talked about or known.
Brief Explanation of Demogorgon's Power:
Demogorgon has the ability to place Portals around the map. Portals act as a mobility tool and can be used to traverse the map to access areas you have already been to previously, via Portal to Portal. Emerging from a Portal grants Undetectable. Portals can be removed by Survivors, but this action takes some time.
Demogorgon has the ability to charge up Shred. Shred lunges the Demgorgon forwards and restricts turning, however the hitbox and distances gained in longer than an M1 which can result in getting hits you otherwise wouldnt, especially through windows. Shred can break Pallets and Breakable Walls, but cannot break Generators.
While charging Shred or holding a fully charged Shred, Demogorgon uses Of The Abyss which allows them to get Killer instinct on near activated Portals. Portals are activated by teleporting to them, and will debuff Survivors close by the Portals.
Application of Demogorgon's Portals:
To start, Portals are a really good tool at your disposal. For some reason a lot of players have this idea that Demogorgon's Portals are "bad" and "are a waste of time" since "Survivors can just destroy them anytime, so what is the point in setting them up?" but in reality, they can be a really good tool.
Demogorgon's Portals provide mobility and slowdown, and knowing WHEN and WHERE to set them up is an important part of his power.
If you want mobility, it is more ideal to try and hide your portals with as much Line of Sight (LOS) breakers as possible, meaning you what direction vision of the portals to be obstructed. Another important part is to considering how Activated Portals will reveal it's location to Survivors, since they are notified via debuffs for getting too close to them. Placement is really important, and poor placement will result in your mobility Portals getting shut down often.
To put it bluntly, mobility Portals are the WHERE.
If you want slowdown, it is more ideal to try and make your portals obvious while also having back up mobility Portals to traverse if needed. Slowdown Portals on their own are pretty weak, and they really rely on having mobility Portals as a backing so you can consistently having Activated Portals by a Generator. Slowdown Portals are also useless if you dont teleport a lot, Survivors need to understand the idea that you are going to actually use the Portals, otherwise they wont cleanse them.
To put it bluntly, slowdown Portals are the WHEN.
Determining WHEN and WHERE to put Portals is borderline impossible to explain in a single thread with the amount of tile sets and maps within the game, it is incredibly nuanced; as a result, I recommend experimenting and just playing the game to get a feel for Portals.
Application of Demogorgon's Shred:
Shred is probably the aspect of Demogorgon that most people are familiar with.
Shred is more ideal to use near Pallets and Windows.
- Pallets provide a choke point between two objects that you can easily hit Survivors, and even if you dont hit them, you might get a pallet out of the way in the process.
- Windows can provide easy hits on Survivors since they can get locked into the vault animation, with the extended hitbox of Shred, you can even hit Survivors near the end of the vault animation when most Killer otherwise wouldnt.
Because of this, Id like to introduce you to: A.B.S, also known as, Always Be Shredding.
One of the best ways to learn the basics of Shred is to actually use it. You will make mistakes, you will miss a lot, and you will probably lose games, but the only way to learn is to take risks, experiment, and practice, so always be Shredding.
Shred's hitbox is more of a plus or diamond shape, so crouching Survivors will not be hit by the outer edge of your hitbox. Furthermore, a Survivor on a lower elevation than you cannot be hit with Shred unless you are directly next to them and looking down. If a Survivor keeps crouching to avoid your Shreds, either hold your Shred or aim directly for the Survivor instead of their rough direction.
There are also a few other quarks with Demogorgon's Shred that give some extra utility.
- Performing Shred while having the edges of your hitbox next to an object messes with the collision detection and allows your Shred to "bounce" off of objects much easier. This can be seen really well with the "Hole Pallet" on Gideon's Meat Plant since you can just Shred across, bounce off the ledge, and land next to or onto the boxes.
- Hitting a Survivor at the very edge of your Shred hitbox near the end of the Shred animation can still result in a hit but brings your free movement back slightly faster, it is effectively a mini-STBFL (Save The Best For Last) but is insanely difficult to pull off consistently.
Perk Recommendations:
This will be brief and small but here are some perk recommendations that synergize with Demogorgon's power.
- Spies From The Shadows: Having information to get into chases fast can help a lot since Demogorgon has decent chases. Spies From The Shadows get a special exception compared to other information perks since it works while Portaling and outside of Portaling in a way that is really fluid with gameplay.
- Enduring: Sometimes when Shredding through Pallets, youll hit (or miss) a Survivor and get stunned on the same side of the Pallet that the Survivor is on. Enduring can result in getting a double hit (or hit) you otherwise wouldnt.
- Barbecue And Chili/Thrilling Tremors: Get a hook, get information, use Portals. Simple and straight forwards.
- THWACK!: Similar to Barbecue and Chili/Thrilling Tremors but provides more chase related information, can be used as a sudo Ultimate Weapon on Breakable Walls or dropped Pallets.
Ideally, just use whatever works best for you. Demogorgon is really flexible and there are not really "must-use" perks for him.
I only play survivor but just want to drop an acknowledgment for how well written and comprehensive this is! Great work :)
-
I got accused of being a cheater and for running meta perks recently because the killer slugged us and I kept getting up..had boon exponential up!
I found this quite funny because I’m known among friends for never running meta perks (not that I have any dislike for them or players who use them at all but I always run a specific build that I enjoy - for the people, boon expo, plot twist and mirrored illusion)

Slugging For the 4k is sweaty. I usually don't bother and just race for hatch and see who wins. I don't care about a 4k unless the survivors take me too garden of joy or the game. That being said slugging for the 4k has a point. Tbagging in exit is just a toxic waste of time that gives no purpose. I honestly don't really do either…unless the killer stood there hitting me on hook or the survivors were intentionally super toxic I don't bother with either.

Finally received a reply and it seems to be an email issue (according to them!)
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/85YXXO5O0VSW/screenshot-20240810-060611-outlook.jpg
However, there genuinely are only 3 emails that I use (for the past 10+ years) and apparently none of them are the correct one. This is astonishing to me because to my quite clear memory, I have only created a BHVR account with my main email address, and like I said, I was not prompted for an email, password or username creation when BHVR originally asked for permission to create an account upon logging into DBD on my Switch in 2020. The email that was in use at the time was also the main one I still currently use, anyways
I’m sorry to hear that :(
I know the feeling in general when a email issue has prevented me proceeding with something important.
Are you an iPhone user by the way? Is there a chance the password can be found in the ‘password’ settingI’m guessing there is an Android equivalent to this as well but sadly I’m not familiar with the steps on it.
Not sure what other options there may be but I genuinely hope it works out somehow :(

ok so I’ll start off by saying that I’m not the biggest fan of castlevania besides for playing 2 games in the past (being symphony of the night and rondo of blood which I didn’t play much of) but I’ve been a fan of vampire horror movies and classic monsters.
one of those being Dracula in those movies and as someone who’s ALOT familiar with those (I’ve seen many different iterations of Dracula like Nosferatu ‘22, dracula ‘31 , dracula ‘91 and other titles)This killer is legit perfect for me he’s literally beyond fun! So thank you for this killer devs!
have you seen the animated series? It’s pretty good - not perfect but it’s pretty worth watching I’d say!

I know that the odds are low since he’s a Licensed Character, but do you think we can have a full powered Nemesis as an alternative mode. I’ve seen this video a while ago and I think this would be fun as an alternate mode:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wtnO2y7uiBI
Obviously, there needs to be some work so Survivors aren’t total playthings. Heck, I’d be all for the devs to make it where there are no gens but there are weapons and if Survivors work together, they can take Nemesis down or at least slow him down enough for one or two to escape. It could also be an every man for himself to where Survivors have to outlast their teammates by hiding or using weapons and items to break chase or redirect him to a teammate.
Anyone else think it would be fun? I personally just want to experience that fear and adrenaline I got when I first played this game, even if it’s for a little while. And think this would be a good way to get it.
I actually think giving him an add on for the bazooka would be so cool!

Sad to see that Freddy still isn't in the roadmap. When the AMA said Freddy had an update planned soon, I thought that meant the next dev update, or the next roadmap for that matter.
But then again, I've already waited 5 years for something amazing to happen to Freddy. I can wait a few more months.
It is what it is.
What do the Freddy main community want from Freddie the most? Completely new power/rework or tweaks to number for existing ones?

A tutorial, for both sides
Not the joke we currently have.
yes also something that explains killer perks and something for the concept of macro play and strategies. It’s super unfair for people getting mad at newer players in endgame (which I saw twice since coming onto steam from switch) for cleansing against vomit lady - how are they supposed to know that’s a ‘known’ strategy? Or that Myers can insta kill or huntress has an iri hatchet and so on.
There are so many killers and perks combinations that not many will have the understanding to read through them all and/or the patience to get steamroller til ‘they get it’ as the roster is much bigger now.
I remember being super confused when I first played the game and was terrified at touching gens cos when I blew it, I’d have teammates upset with me and so on.
Of course we don’t need to have things spoon fed but I remember when I started maps aware much bigger, CoH was a thing, exhaustion perks were in their pomp and the game wasn’t chase-oriented as much and I STILL needed time to acclimatise. For babies now, I can only inagine how steep the learning curve is.
Edit: ..and this is probably best done via a tutorial or separate game mode to avoid unbalancing the game as others have suggested :)

When we had this utterly failure of the Mori/unlimitedUnbreakable PTB, I was actually surprised how elaborate the whole thing was, with all this unlimited unbreakable, literal tunnel vision and tinkered perks.
When I heared Finisher Mori back then, I thought "oh yeah, when all survivors are slugged and no one has an unbreakable left, the killer gets an autowin, so he can't slug them for 4min and everyone moves on", something as simple as that. I never understood why we needed this complex sudden-death mechanic, just let the game end when the survivors chance of, well surviving, are less then 1% without anyone extending the game to griefe.
Back in the days before we had regeneration hooks there often were this situations where you, as the killer, might not have wanted THAT particular survivor to escape, maybe they BMed you or whatever, but they crawled into a deadzone/comp corner, and you could either risk that they escaped and mock you severely in chat, or bleed them out while you occasionally slashed your weapon in the direction of a hook.
In my eyes, the Finisher Mori should have just ended the game in such a situation with a nice finisher and everyone could move on. Does any survivor have an unused unbreakable or is on hook stage 1? Well, then the clock keeps ticking. Is everyone involved on hook stage 2 and got no perk to help? Just end the game. Thats what a Finisher Mori update should do. Maybe even give the slugged survivors without hookstages an option to resign and let them all move on to the Mori. But the whole thing should not offer any tangible benefit to either side, it should just be there to limit griefing and abuse opportunities.
Even as a survivor main, I’d be happy for your idea to not just be a perk but become base kit for killers. Unnecessary lingering beyond a certain timeframe (that can account for waiting to help a teammate etc) should just be outright punished as a base kit. Also removing crouch button when killer is within radius of exit too perhaps - but keeping in other gestures for ‘point tech’ could be a thing.

For anyone saying, "I can't show off my prestige anymore", note that the only time anyone ever sees the Killer's prestige is in this same end-game screen. And I'm sure they too like to show their dedication to a certain character, but only have one moment to do so. Now the same is true again for the Survivors.
I don't see the issue with this change at all. Prestige does not equal skill and is just a badge of honour. Why does this look like artist taking a selfie with tourists in the background? lol

It does, so does the Xbox.
The technology is exactly the same as PS4/XBone... neither company updated it sadly 😒
To avoid it I would suggest getting into the habit of -
- Wash your hands with soap before you play.
- Buy some alcoholic wipes and wipe down the controller and around the sticks after each session.
(To be honest, this is also a good set of habits to get into for maintenance of a PC mouse as well... the crap that gets in between your buttons on a mouse... 💀).
If you do get stick drift, it's not too hard to disassemble and clean the contacts, though in my experience it's better to just replace the petentiometer completely, you can buy a pack of 8 PS5/Xbox joysticks with 2 potentiometers each for like £7.
This video explains it:
https://youtu.be/nrNnxcsVgz8?si=VWuujruj3mScdJpS
This video helps with disassembly:
I did used to get stick drift on my Nintendo switch before - I’m hoping the steam deck won’t get this especially as it isn’t as easy to change like with the switch or other controllers (I play pretty much exclusively hand held lol)
time to buy extra soap and wipes!
🧼✨
-
I would imagine for some it is just habits. Those who tunnel regularly in normal matches probably do so. I think for some they may see it as genuine efficiency (I’ll let others debate that one) but for some I suspect they enjoy the feeling of power in tormenting someone else. It’s kind of like that player who knows they’re throwing the match but as long as they kill that one person they have set their mind to, they don’t care.
-
I’m a Survivor main and personally, I wouldn’t mind buffs to any and all killers in principle. The issues isn’t so much the buffs, more the residual and connective impacts.
That is why my personal idea would be that the MMR of a killer and the MMR of a survivor could perhaps affect the potency of their buffs. So for example, if a low mobility killer faces a higher MMR group of survivors, they get basekit speed buffs or individual buffs (trapper with extra traps, or the survivors only being able to yellow versions of their perks).
I think this idea would obviously have some big challenges to navigate getting right and may be full of holes but a dynamic system is the only solution I can think of (in current circumstances) that wouldn’t give a blanket buff/nerf that will open up the whole ‘solos will get stomped by buffs to killers’ conundrum

It could work with 2v8 setup.
You can use all changes in 2v8 and make it work with it imo.
Basically split gens into two groups (you can work only on your own gen) and team who either kills whole group or finish all gens first wins.
You would need to do some changes basically so survivors can snitch on other survivors to their killer somehow…
Probably display killer aura to their survivors too, so survivor can go for bodyblocking :D
I would like to see it and I don't think it's so difficult with tools we have now.Yes the 2 v 8 made me think it definitely has practical potential!
I’m sure it will need refinement and tinkering etc but your suggestions all sound great! And for once, it may give the killer and survivor player base an opportunity to play together and hopefully minimise some of the ‘us v them’ as both side will truly be equal!
-
I think considering the bad rep she has (I’m not commenting on whether that is deserved, but most games I face with her, almost all my teammates DC..) I think a complete rework might be the best to reinvent her image. Though not sure if that will be popular for SM players so it’s a difficult one

I don't know Chinese. All I know is that I've looked at the kanjis and the words "blood" "point" popped into my head.
But yes, I'd imagine katakanas would be the preferred way for the Japanese so it sounds like "buladdo poento" instead of the actual meaning.
Yes :)
I remember I started playing DBD for the first time while in Japan and most of the terminology is like you said, katakana versions of the English words for most things

Yes me too! I think this is written in Chinese Kanji (hanzi) which seems to literally be ‘blood point’ in its characters: 血点

Where is this information of Nintendo being the issue coming from? I don't doubt it, just curious. Maybe i need to see the showcase again?
It’s more the fact that all other platforms other than Nintendo Switch have allowed full crossover of all items monetary and dlc. The graphic below illustrates this:
This would imply it is Nintendo themselves as the main blocker. It is not likely that the public will be privy to the inner terms and conditions but it is probably safe to surmise that Nintendo are being unreasonable here.
That is not to say that I think there is no solution - either with time, either through alternative (reasonable and equivalent) bonus shards or cells etc for switch users can assuage the feelings of unfairness and disparity.
The problem for switch player base is we’re small and we don’t have a strong enough influence on the ‘surface’. But I would like to think BHVR can see our feelings and show the ultimate goodwill - and hopefully soon.

bump - waiting for an answer from DBD
Hi, as a fellow Nintendo Switch user - I know there have been many of us affected by this in various ways and degrees. I think because of the complex arrangements of contracts (and it would appear the biggest blocker here is Nintendo themselves) it is not an easy one to navigate.
I think BHVR probably won’t be able to give a definitive response but perhaps like you mentioned with leather face etc, over time, this may change and we may retroactively receive these or alternative bonus.
