Mostly because you are level 50 and presti\ge 3 on every survivor and every killers, so any issue does not affect you... you have to think of when you were grinding the game... its impossible for me to grind killer right now, i would love to get my Spirit from 15 up to 40 but with 10k a game because i got 4-4-4-4 againts a 12 its just not possible

If I was P3-50 on all my Killers/Survivors, I'd have nothing left to do HA HA!

No, I still grind, and no, I don't have all my Killers/Survivors at level 50 and or P3-50. The Killers that're not P3-50 are level 50 yes, but that's just to get them ready for P3-50... they still need to be grinded out to P3-50.

I only have one Survivor that's P3-50, and that's Claudette. I don't even have any other Survivor at Level 50, mainly because I don't main Survivor despite playing both sides (mainly as Claudette for Survivor...)

Some Survivors are close to level 50, but that's to just unlock their teachables... nobody else is level 50 in my Survivor list.

    anyways...

I still grind my Killers out, I currently only have 13 of the 18 Killers at P3-50, and only 3-4 are max perks.

My next P3-50 (Trapper) is only at P2 at the moment. Regardless, I still have to finish him up, than I have to max out all my Killers to keep the longevity of the grind going (its so I don't run out of things to do in-game and get bored) and than I can move onto Survivors if I so choose... or maybe cut it early and do some Survivors.

Either way, I don't even have all my teachables unlocked for Survivor... just the teachables I normally use and that's it (for Claudette). All my Killer teachables ARE unlocked, but to say I have everything Prestige 3 or saying level 50 is "done" is an understatement of the century for me ha ha ha!

I purposely avoid having all my Killers be P3-50 and Survivors as well, mainly because I want to have a goal still... this is why after Trapper is done, i'll be maxing out all my P3-50 Killers BEFORE moving onto another Killer to P3-50.

Which might I add, is a grind in itself for one P3-50... let alone maxing EVERY KILLER TO MAX PERKS!

    But back to the point

It doesn't affect me because I face Red Ranks all the time as a Killer, so this isn't any different if I was a Green Rank facing Red Ranks... it would be as if I was just in Red Ranks.

But because of the new rank reset, I face them all the time now. So... yeah... it doesn't affect me. But that's also why I said "I can see why it has an affect on you." Mainly because YOU don't face Red Ranks all the time as me, so I can see why this is a problem for you during average play-times.

The bottom line is, we'll see what the Rank Rework has in-store for DBD, and when the Rank Rework comes, so too will the match-making be changed... it's just common sense.

I still pay money for any DLC they get out and paid for the game...

I buy the DLC usually the first day, I don't really mind what bugs come from it personally.

They've never really had a massive impact on me, so that's kind of why I never really paid mind to it.

I don't know it for sure. I am just saying that the bug fixing team is clearly severaly underbudgeted right now. So Behaviour should hire more programmers to get stuff done.

The team isn't that big in-general, as some people believe.

It's understandable that things like these are not caught right out the door of release, so that's why I don't have an issue with it personally.

I'm sure that things will work out eventually, with the teams size and the issues that come from the bugs. Patients is key, this isn't a triple AAA game from a big company after all.

  • @ABannedCat said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/941558#Comment_941558

I am aware of that. No one works around the clock. I am just saying that right now the cosmetics team appears to get the bigger cake of the budget, than the bug fixing team does. This is clearly visible by the speed of how fast they get stuff done.

So right now, Behaviour prioritises cosmetics over bugfixing.

But how do you know that for sure? A bug that's hidden within years of code is harder to find than making cosmetics for the store. One is hidden under code, the other has no restrictions for production.

At least to me it is, so that's probably why it takes a bit longer to fix these issues.

  • @ABannedCat said:

Nah mate, pumping out more overpriced cosmetics is more important.

They don't work around the clock you know, everyone has a holiday break too you know...

That s the info i was looking for... fk the holiiday fix the game lol no im kidding, but its such a bad timming as most of the players will have free time to play at that moment.

Hope they fix it soon, also i dont know what happen my last post was delete from me by mistake

I hope they fix it as well, for your sake. Personally, it doesn't bother me since I already play with Red Ranks on the daily... but for you, I can see why it's an issue.

With the Rank Rework coming, i'm sure the match-making will also be changed to reflect the new ranking system.

You're right about Freddy, but according to the 3.4.0 Release Info, Leatherface the character is now available in the ingame store on Switch. The DLC itself may not be in the Nintendo Store yet, though.

Leatherface is available in game store, and has been since the beginning of December

Than my information was incorrect, I thought the information would be in the patch notes but apparently it's outside under the link itself... so...

Regardless, the Killer he wants isn't there so... yeah.

Ya i saw one of your post with the picutre of the road map, thanks for that. But the matchmaking for killer is totaly broke at the moment from green rank an under, i make a lots of test and send the report using DBD Help Center, They reply saying this:

We are very sorry for the inconvenience of your recent matchmaking experience. We are currently looking into internal changes to our lobby system to resolve this issue in the future. The information you've provided has been logged and is being reviewed by our developers to ensure an improvement to our players' matchmaking experience.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding while we work to improve our players' experiences in the fog.

They know its an issue and they working on it, because 13 and above the match making for me is super fair, as soon as i hit 12 its crazy, i goes from 13 againts 10-15-12-14, i hit 12 and i got 8-8-8-8, as long as i am in green i have purple and red and if i move back to yellow im back to normal matchmaking.

So as of right now im sorry for the players on PS4 that will get me but, im starting a game and go watch a movie. and just wait for it to be over and derank until i hit lower rank because its just not funny and stupid i cannot practice or grind any killer right now.

I wouldn't publicly announce that you're deranking in a post, especially on the forums.

I would advice against it period, since it just ruins the matchmaking even more, at least in my opinion.

This is what the issue boils down to...

You have to wait until it's resolved, and that's about it. They can't fix the issue like that snap and than everything is alright... there could be more to it than that, we don't know at all.

You just need to be patient and tough out... that's the best thing I can tell you. Once the rank rework comes in, i'm sure these issues will be resolved a long with it. Since the match-making issue does tie in with the current ranking system...

Well there's also that cog on it, but it's not a clock. 😜

Btw, i'm moreso...intrigued by the headpiece.

Wraith always had odd skin (you can see it's pretty much the actual color black on some torso pieces), but here he looks made of stone.

I love it btw, his cosmetics often make me feel he's one of the more supernatural Killers.

I mean, he wears wax and actually lights a candle on it. πŸ˜‚

I mean, Wraith does mean Ghost in some other terminology... so... I suppose it fits with the entire point of his character.

His backstory leads you to believe he's a mysterious figure, since he just magically fades away after the deed is done with Azarov.

The point is, he definitely acts like a ghost.

  • @Asegbloodtears

The Rank reset was changed a few weeks ago, where if you're in Red Rank, you'll be reset back to the previous rank before it (Purple Rank for Red).

So it would go Red to Purple, Purple to Green, Green to Yellow, and Yellow to Grey. So the Match-Making might provide some Survivors that're still in Red Ranks, since they only de-ranked back one rank.

But, besides that, the common Rank 10 against Red Ranks or the "Rainbow Rank issue" is still a thing at the moment, so you'll just have to be patient on a fix for it. The new ranking system that's scheduled with the next Chapter will be coming up soon, so perhaps there will be a fix with the match-making as well.

No promises though, I have no idea either. I just know that the road-map is scheduled to rework the ranking system when Chapter 15 is being worked on...

The description mentions a spine though, and branches are carved into it.

The hoof at the end of it misleads me to believe it's a spine.

  • T E C H N I C A L L Y !

But yeah, if he wants to do that than... he can. If we're talking right now from Tier l, than I don't think so. Maybe if he started when we had 18 days left, but not now no.

Unlike the standard weapon which has metal parts to keep the bones in place, this looks like just bone with 1 cog to keep the blade in place, which seems to be a sharp bit of bone.

It makes me wonder what kind of creature this could belong to.

I mean, the description says "branches", but that spine looks so jagged.

It just seems to the the leg of a Deer, that's why I use it with my Wraith skin combo.

I went for that, "Wendigo in a suit" type combo.

  • @Squid_Sacrifices

No, Freddy is not a part of the base-game for DBD (Switch Version).

This seems to just be an error with the Switch versions patch notes, since he's not in the Switch version of DBD.

So no, you won't be seeing him in the Switch version when you boot it up, same with LeatherFace and Quinton.

The only thing that the Switch version has from LeatherFace, Quinton, and Freddy, is that the Switch version has their perks in the Shrine of Secrets... that's it. They themselves are not in the Switch versions base-game, sorry.

    Edit

LeatherFace was apparently added in at the start of December, my bad.

  • @Boss said:

Technically yes, since you can simply buy all tiers.

That'll cost you a lot though.

Yeah but... that's like, 7k Auric Cells from tier 1?

I forget how much that is in real dollars, 70$ I think?

  • @Siren

You'll just have to condition yourself on how to loop Killers, or just wait at pallets when they're chasing you and drop them on the Killer to stun them.

This is the only way you'll really get this challenge done, there isn't a trick or anything like that, you just need to know how to use each loop to the fullest and know when to drop the pallet onto the Killer. You can just try hiding at the pallets in the corner and than dropping them onto the Killers head during the chase, that seems to work sometimes...

But, if you're having trouble with looping...

Than you can try this video i'll be providing below, it'll explain how to use every basic tile that spawns into all the maps... and it'll familiarize you with when to use pallets and when not to, it's a pretty dated video but it still holds up with todays current DBD.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6QYjInzLeM&t=17s

This guide should help you out a lot with basic structures or "tiles." These tiles are very common throughout every map, and it's good to learn how to loop around each one to maximize the chase, as well as know when to drop the pallet at the right times...

If you don't want to do this though...

You can just try baiting Killers into loops and drop the pallet onto their head. Just hide around the corner of the pallet, and once they're close you drop it on them.

You can also just sit at the pallet and trade a hit for a stun to gain more progress towards the challenge, but I advise against this unless you absolutely need to do this.

I'm level 62 and I just need to complete two survivor challenges to complete the tome.

I overall enjoyed the tome, I didn't find any challenges to be impossible and it made use a few new builds that I found that I enjoyed. I loved running a medic build for the healing challenges (too bad the bloodwebs hates me and won't give me any more med-kits).

I look forward to seeing what they do with tome 2.

I do as well, we'll see what happens in the future installments.

  • I don't personally think DS is needed, since if you're going to be tunneled... than they won't stop until you die, regardless of DS.

Something like Spine-Chill would be better for a generator build, plus it lets you know if the Killer is looking/coming to you.

  • Well, not at the moment since the test is over... so i'm sure plenty of people are DCing before it's finally implemented.

I'm not 100% on that, since my memory isn't the greatest to confirm this... but DCing isn't really that common anymore like it used to be, and the DC penalty system will definitely solve keep it from being more rampant!

  • @LegioPotatica

This was already answered, but i'll just add this as a bit more context.

The only perks that're "mandatory" in the blood web are perks that were leveled up in the previous level and through RNG come to the next blood-web level to gain another tier... but even that is RNG, so it's not 100% clear if this is an intentional feature, or just sheer luck.

Regardless, every perk is based off of RNG in the blood-web. Higher prestiges might bring out the more "valuable" perks over others, but some players have confirmed that this change is minor to P0 (no prestiged or Prestige 0).

Perks that're teachables during a level 30/35/40 level up on a P0 Killer/Survivor ARE mandatory, since they will always appear at level 30 and onward until you grab them in the blood-web. Otherwise no, there's nothing similar to that in the blood-web afterwards... it's completely random and based on luck going forward.

Same goes for item/offering drops, they're random and can be based on entirely random luck. For me, I once got 3 BPS in a row, never got that again afterwards... even to this day. I've also gotten BBQ in 3 blood-webs in a row once, but that again is RNG and or "dumb luck."

So yeah, that's how blood-webs work... if you're lucky, than you'll get what you need right from the start. But like said above also, just grab every perk you see to get them out of the way... once they're Tier lll than they'll stop showing up in the blood-web. It gets them out of the way and thins out the perks that'll show up in the blood-web for you.

I was able to do it in three matches. Would have been 1, but in the first match after we got 2 easily, the killer decide to tunnel the **** out of me. Hence DS as the 4th perk.

Was the DS added after that hard tunnel from that Killer?

  • @Kikki

There's still no word on Moris or Keys getting a change, so this question can't really be answered unless a dev pops in.

Due to the controversial nature of Moris and Keys, it's unknown if or when they'll be reworking them... you'll just have to wait if an update on that is made.

  • @Yogerman1997 said:

Well, the easy way to make KYF give u points without make u want farm it is make u get less points

like... u can only get a max of 2K on each category also maybe reduce every score event to the half

also, who dont want get a bit of bloodpoints while tryning help a friend who buy the game now, and u can't play with him regular matches because is gonna be destroyed XD

The whole point of a KYFs though is to "Kill your friends" in a friendly non-competitive/rewarding match.

It's also used to test perk combos, powers, perks themselves, and other various small details. It was never meant to reward players for a non-LIVE match with your friends...

This is why you don't gain points there, and i'm fairly sure it'll never do such a thing in the future.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/936260#Comment_936260

Yep. I was just trying to make the point that he will be basically guaranteed to get to at least tier 40, if he can complete every challenge in the Tome. Beyond that it's up to him.

Right, we have no idea how he'd do afterwards...

Time is ticking anyways, so who knows if he's working on it right now!... or not... idk.

  • I think the idea is to not make them equal and negate any progress a Survivor did on that generator.

Despite it looking like it's bad, every second in this game is very important... so if nobody comes back to a generator for 2 minutes when it was at 99%, than it just makes it easier to monitor and not worry about.

Sometimes it won't be at 99% though, it'll be at 50% or 20%... if not repaired again, it'll go back to 0% after about a minute or two.

This is why perks like "Pop Goes the Weasel" are currently meta, it takes 25% off that generator once kicked. While it doesn't regress the generator a lot faster than normal... it does make people believe that's the case, due to the red effect it gives off.

Whether that is a good thing or not is... subjective.

Sorry, but you shouldn't mind if you see similar outfits. There are so less parts to mix and other changing their outfits daily. ☺️

I don't follow, I shouldn't mind giving him all my combos because there are some Killers with limited cosmetics to choose from?

Cause, the entire point of why I didn't give him every combo... is mainly because it's better for him to decide that for himself on what he likes, he wanted some examples, so I gave him some. It's kind of boring if I gave him all of the examples and than he just used those combos...

It's good to give him inspiration, but it's better if he can figure out some combos that he likes for himself, at least that's how I feel anyways.

Yes, but this isn't the... right choices for how to counter-act the issue at the moment.

Plus, like I said, even if it is a choice people could still find a way to abuse it.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/936149#Comment_936149

Yeah, I get what you're saying. We're both agreed that it depends on OP.

On the maths part, though, you didn't take into account the fact that some challenges are impossible to complete in one game. That's why I said it would take a minimum of 104 matches to complete them all.

Also I'm not sure what you're counting from but I checked again and I believe Level 4 has 6 normal challenges and 9 master challenges, which is a total of 63 fragments (18 + 45), plus the 10 earned from the epilogue, so 73. Not that it really matters, it's a difference of 5 fragments so it doesn't change the answer to the question overall, but accuracy is always good πŸ™‚

It was an estimate, that's why I also said and I quote "To get the stats above would mean you're extremely lucky, but it would also mean you're one of the best players... mainly because these stats above are for an example and are not a realistic goal."

Meaning, the stats I gave above is just an example and not an actual thing that anyone could possible do... mainly because of how hard some challenges are, or some re-trys are needed.

For some reason when I counted up Lvl 4, I forgot to add one 5. Than I did it again and kept doing it until I somehow fixed what I was doing wrong... despite counting it correctly.

So yes, it's 73, and yes it's tier 34 not 33. Despite that, it really honestly does not matter. The point still stands above, it's something that isn't really realistic which we both agree on.

But despite all these estimates we're giving him, it isn't accurate to how he would do in-game himself... so its honestly meaningless, since we have no idea how he'd personally do with all 4 levels and gaining EXP in-game.

For all we know, he could be a Rank 20 or Rank 1 god, WHO KNOWS! Only he does...

Also, I edited above the actual amounts... but only the last comment I made, not the rest.

  • @Nexx

The bannable offenses are above and right here in this post as well: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest

But for context, here's a list of non-bannable offenses.

THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT CONSIDERED BANNABLE OFFENSES - PLEASE DO NOT REPORT

    * Camping

    * Slugging

    * Tunneling

    * Streamsniping

    * Teabagging

    * Bodyblocking

    * Looping

    * Tapping generators with ruin

When someone says "You're bad, you're going to be easily banned for this" or something like that, 90% of the time it's just someone who's upset with the outcome of the match. They're either not aware of what's bannable and what's not, or it's a scare tactic to make you worry... which I see worked.

Proxy camping, Tunneling, Slugging, these are some examples that're not bannable. They're hated heavily by the community, but they're not bannable... so don't worry about it.

Also, like Fibijean said, don't join a group chat with the players you just beat in a match. 95% of the time it's just someone who's planning on abusing you in a private section where they can say anything without any repercussions... (kinda)

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/935963#Comment_935963

I think you may have missed a master challenge in your calculations, because by my count completing all challenges, including the epilogues, will get you to tier 34 exactly.

It would take at least 104 games to complete all challenges, assuming you complete every challenge in the minimum number of games necessary. At a rate of 600XP per game on average, that would earn you 78 Rift Fragments, without even factoring in the first game of the day bonuses.

So by completing all challenges, you should get to tier 41 at an absolute minimum.

For most people I've seen, it seems to realistically take somewhere in the 150-200 hour ballpark to complete the Rift. So it wouldn't require any sleep loss, it would just require you to play DBD like it's a very demanding full time job, for like 8-12 hours a day, every single day until it closes. It's a lot, but technically doable. So it's up to OP whether they feel it's worth the trouble or not.

    we'll move onto the math

We'll say that the OP does every challenge in the first match they activate it. That's 74 challenges and 74 matches. On average, we'll say each match gave the OP 600 EXP each to be modest, that's only shy of 800 EXP (the total that gives a free Rift Fragment).

74 x 600 = 44,400 thousand EXP. If it was 800 each game, it would be 59,200 thousand.

Since it isn't though, this is only about 55 Rift Fragments. If it was 800 each game, that would be 74 Rift Fragments.

Anyways, 55 Rift Fragments added onto the 340 Rift Fragments that the challenges gave would give the OP only 395 Rift Fragments... so that's only 39 and a half tiers they would get. So I was basically almost right with my guess, I was only 1 and a half Tiers off! (That's pretty cool imo).

Anyways, the minimum would be 39 and a half Tiers, not 41... only 2 off from the actual estimate. So, unless my math is off for some reason, than this is about all he'd get in The Rift after completing 74 challenges AND getting an average of 600 EXP for each of the 74 matches it took.

But of course this isn't always the case and each match is unpredictable. Some matches you can get absolutely destroyed, other matches can yield a perfect or near perfect score. It's entirely unknown how OP would do if he started RIGHT NOW at this very second of my reply.

The match can definitely be skewed depending on the OPs skill-set as a Survivor, Killer, or both! So it's hard to pin-point a minimum EXP gain that they would get, and or how many matches it'll take to complete every challenge. To get the stats above would mean you're extremely lucky, but it would also mean you're one of the best players... mainly because these stats above are for an example and are not a realistic goal.

The match can change depending on the first game of the day bonuses, but we'll leave those out for the sake of... something.

    it boils down to this...

Time, the OPs skill set, their luck with challenges, and how often they play. If they play 2 hours a day, than they won't get to tier 70... it just isn't possible.

Me saying "It would take sleepless nights and days" was kind of a joke, but realistically, it would take them about a minimum of 5 hours each day, every day, for 18 days straight... this includes Christmas, New Years, and a bit into the start of January to do.

We also don't know if they have school, if they work a lot, etc. It really, really, REALLY, depends on their availability and willingness to do this.

But like I and you said, it's do-able... but it's unrealistically do-able... if that makes sense.

[edit] APPARENTLY I forgot to carry a 5 when counting...

So I changed what I wrote above to reflect the accurate amounts...

  • That's why other similar cosmetics that go with the combo exists!

I've nearly finished the Rift, and it's taken me about 150 hours. Even if you were very lucky with disconnects and queue times and fast games, I estimate it would take you at least 100 hours. So you would have to spend a minimum of 5.5 hours a day, every single day for the next 18 days, Christmas included, to even hope to unlock the Rift Pass.

Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely to be realistically achievable? No.

If you managed to complete all challenges in the Tome in that time, though, it would probably get you to at least tier 40 or maybe even 50, which is a fair way along the track. I'd say it definitely took me less than 18 days in total to complete all the challenges, so that part is definitely doable. You can also buy Rift tiers for 100 auric cells (1USD) each, so if you see how far you get in the next 17 days and then buy the rest that would be one way you could complete the Rift in time.

If you don't manage to complete the Rift and/or don't want to spend money buying tiers, you can almost certainly still acquire the outfits. The devs have stated that almost all of the cosmetics from the Rift will arrive in the Store in the future, to give players like you who missed out the opportunity to enjoy them. However, it will be at least 6-12 months before that happens, so you'll have to wait a while.

All challenges get you to tier 33, I counted it (yes I actually went back to count it).

It could get you to 40 because of the 800XP Rift Fragment bonuses... but it's more like 38 or so.

It's possible, it's just highly unrealistic and would require sleepless days and nights to get ahead. It isn't worth the trouble...

Its not really an original combo, but its still my favourite cosmetic. Barely anyone nowadays seems to run it, so I can feel kind of unique too.

I don't see many Nurses anymore.

I never saw them much before the nerf anyways, so nothing new.

Can't give you all my secrets, but most of these have been copied by other Killers by now sadly. Especially the pig one, which I like the most out of all her other combos.

But yeah, here's some examples, but I don't really want to give you all my secret combos... well... "secret" until someone starts copying my other ones.

This should be enough inspiration I suppose. (From me anyways)

God, that really triggers my completionist brain.

It's pretty weird yeah, but it is how it is.

Well, i do it at my first try, because i have a bit of lucky.

On the lobby i ask if someone need do it, or no, also, tell them if please can let all the gens at 99%.

This is the first thing u had to do... i guess...

But no one aswer, and they finish a gen without me..

Atleast i pick Bond to see where the survivors are doing gens so... i manage to find the other 4 gens before they finish it...

About the luck part, is because the killer dont chase me during all the match and take the survivors out of their gens before they finish it all the time, and i can steal them XD

If you just ask people than they might help out.

Some people are willing to help yeah, others... sometimes don't.

Dont take the what i gonna say seriusly

    BUUUUT

the name can have more sense if the Entity instakill survivors who try escape without broken the Hex: Totem first

like with the Pig Traps but with the End Game Collapse animation

    XD

I won't take what you said seriously, but if we did, that'd be extremely OP... in the right scenarios.

yeah but I mean his attack is really weak compared to other killers he is the shortest range of all of them , even shorter then leatherface's basic hit , I know that in tier 3 he can put you in dying state but so can hillbilly and leatherface with their special attacks I think his speed needs to be increased at least because in a chase he seems slower then other killers or the range of his weapon because it has the shortest range and if you miss that will give a lot of space to the survivor

For Tier l yes, for the other Tiers no. Tier l isn't made to have you chase people down at the start of the game, the concept is to stalk someone and than going into Tier ll to do this... or continue to stalk into Tier lll.

Tier lll is one of the longest lunges in-game, it also has the added bonus of an increase vaulting speed with windows.

Tier ll is the same lunge that every Killer has, all basic lunges for every Killer is the same EXCEPT some like Tier lll Myers or Pigs Dash attack for example.
