Corrupt + pop is fair, in the sense that it's fairly small pp but no content creator called it that so it's all good. I run it on most on my m1 killers without a care in the world because this is dead by daylight, not measuring pps by daylight.

On strong killers it's overkill against the overwhelming majority of survivor teams, so it's something that one would run only if they're in the mood of not trying.

Well I think the DS + Unbreakable combo is named that for a reason, in my opinion Corrupt + Pop is at least more reasonable in regards to what can be done to work around it. But DS + Unbreakable is another discussion, the point is you're right, this is just a game and it doesn't really matter. We can all use what we want, we can all dislike what we dislike, the only issue that comes from that is when some start to be toxic about it... which unfortunately does happen I'm afraid.

How are you guys able to make threads on this specific forum? It won't let me.

Like SCP said you'll unfortunately have to wait on that issue my man. I'm facing the same issue when posting in General Discussions, this is the only place that was the most reasonable to work with, but it's not where I was originally going to post I'm afraid.

Edit: The post was moved to General so that's good, but I don't think I'm able to post in General still unfortunately.

Oh yeah, any perk that forces you to play right into the enemys hands or lose a lot of your work is bound to generate hate.

Yeah... like another perk that we all will never stop hearing about...

I mean most of this community just has a huge ego that doesn't match their delusions of how the game went. Played survivor vs a R1 Demogorgon today who got a total of 2 downs in a 9 minute match with myself looping him for almost 3 minutes of that alone without going down. I usually just type gg and move on but he started going off in chat to myself and the 2 other PC randoms (4th person being a console player) about "OP perks like Dead Hard, tryharding with brown medkits, people who can't loop but just gen rushing every killer to not being able to enjoy the game, etc etc" I asked how exactly we "gen rushed" him over a 9 minute match where he chased directly behind the survivor including vaulting through windows and applying no pressure to any objectives - also having his ruin stay up the entire match and never getting value from that on Ironworks. He of course called me a "moron entitled survivor main who only knows how to M1" though I was the one who was looping him most of the match.

Same thing comes up when I play killer hooking someone with BBQ - I purposely let the guys I see BEELINING for the hook get their rescue since I can see gens being worked on that I want to go Pop anyway. I'm fine with them rescuing and healing, no need to hover camp or face camp or come back to redown the easy down hook trade sometimes... I like treating survivors like bloodpoint produce... can't pick them too early you only get half the yield. This "should" be a healthy gameplay interaction - everyone gets to be chased fairly, everyone gets to play but you wouldn't know it from the amount of post chat vitrol I get in half the matches win or lose. It's funny enough to read but I wonder if small group of us are playing a completely different game from the majority

It does feel that way sometimes, how some players are playing a version of the game THEY see while others are just trying to play the game itself. This usually results in the questions I asked and the scenarios you brought up, where perks that're disliked are seen as unfair, but they do have counter-play around them that lots of Survivors or Killers use to avoid them.

I can't say every perk has that luxury, but we're all entitled to use whatever we see fit for our matches. Whether other players will accept that is... up to them honestly. But to be clear, of course someone can dislike a perk and be reasonable behind it, it's just when it goes into the realms of toxicity is when it turns into a issue.

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

It's fair. Corrupt intervention is a perk that is countered by simply waiting it out, or when someone's chased, you can do the generators.

Pop goes the weasel is a very well designed perk, since it rewards the killer for doing their objective (that's why I think adrenaline and deliverance are fair as well).

People run these 2 perks together, because they patch some of the generator problems, or use them on a killer with no mobility. Sure, this build might be too op on nurse or spirit, but it's fair on the rest of the roster.

    A fair analysis.

Perhaps players dislike it because of how Corrupt works, which makes players not instantly work on a gen they spawned near, pairing it with Pop might cause some players to dislike the perk even more since the 4 gens they CAN work on are susceptible to being regressed heavily after someone is downed and hooked.

    @SCP_FOR_DBD said:

I'd say its fair, its not like they have a particularly special synergy. Just 2 decent slowdown perks working together well.

Right, it's not really that hard to work around it. But perhaps people dislike it for the reason above, they simply hate being forced to go to another gen that's farther away and closer to the Killer. Pairing it with Pop might make that opinion worsen due to how Pop works with the 4 active gens they CAN work on.

Thanks, but I have level 1-63 rewards open. But 64-70 is not, although I have completed all the challenges on 4 levels of the current tome.

Oh that's what you mean, well you simply just need to keep playing normally and get passive shards. You can get passive shards by gaining 800 XP per shard, the progress is shown in the Archives tab that pops up in your Survivor and Killer menus. This is the same tab that notifies you of your challenge progress.

Completing a Tome doesn't guarantee enough shards to get to level 70, rather it makes up a decent majority of the shards you actually need, while the rest are passively earned by playing the game or even doing the challenges you're trying to complete to get shards.

Yus. We're not a picky people. Let us giggle for a bit before ghostface grabs us off the generator because we're not paying attention.

Better to be grabbed off a gen on Halloween than any other time. Fits with the theme of F E A R !

P3 blight is honestly not that different looking from his base outfit... kinda darker, but no where near as blood soaked as Executioner, Hag, and Nurse's P3 outfits. I'm actually a little disappointed, but meh, I guess not everyone can bathe in survivors blood like those guys can.

It varies from Killer to Killer and Survivor to Survivor. It's quite odd to see how The Legion is literally coated in it but someone like The Oni isn't really at all. I think it has something to do with lore maybe? Or rather just the artistic choice when making them.

    @Heartbound said:

I honestly think it would be cool if they did something really cliche like pumpkin generators that laugh when someone's working on them, or after you die you could spectate as a ghost and run your character around the map still.

Or little doors that you could knock on and have your character trick or treat them for blood points. Or even just reskin the old pustula flowers and let the survivors harvest them for candy (bloodpoints) but let the killer hook people and have ghosts fly everywhere.

I know it's not a horror game but it could be spooky!

As bad as the old pustula flower mechanic was, I wouldn't mind it coming back for a meme or two. It'd most likely have the same issues as before, but it would mix things up a bit. Or better yet they could work upon it to incorporate it into the gen system like before, but put a unique spin onto it. Since before if you hooked someone or did a gen it would count passive event points, but they could possible build upon it to work towards something else as well as a bonus.

Or they could just use the lunar lanterns and re-skin them as trick or treat bowls, either one works.

  • I actually wonder what the Halloween Event will be about since the plants don't seem to be alive anymore.

  • Also some side information

If anyone is curious to leaving some feedback on the video than please let me know. Anything from cutting down the size of it to the overall presentation would be helpful, since providing a quick yet effective glance is always a priority I strive for with series like this. Ease of access is more important overall, but it must be effectively presented as well.

Other suggestions like the inclusion of images as well would be helpful to consider, since I'm still unsure of re-implementing something like that.

  • @FireHazard said:

Just a wild guess, but it could be "the alchemist"

Could be a call back from Tome 1's very first memory, which talked about "The Alchemist" in a log titled "The Hunger".

In this video and from several lore bits that the character "The alchemist" is shown, he's seen going through withdrawal due to a lack of serum being available after both the events conclusion. For those of you who might remember, we saw this character during the 2018 Halloween Event "The Hallowed Blight" which shows this characters debut. During his first introduction he's seen collecting serum and experimenting on The Trapper while he's bound by chains.

During "The Withering Blight" in 2019 he was brought up during The Archives debut, where he's depicted as someone trying to gather anymore serum that's available, unfortunately to no avail.

Why does this matter for the teaser though?

Well, due to the nature of the teaser being vague and showing little to the viewers, it's hard to say if this is exactly what i'm referencing above. Both characters are shown being in agony constantly, and the figure in the teaser above is shown to be in a tattered robe, similar to "The Alchemist". So if I had to guess, it could be an introduction to The Alchemist's final form as "The Hunger", a fitting name to his situation from what I described above.

Or it could be a Werewolf like others have suggested above, who knows. We're getting close to Halloween though so it's not entirely off the table for either of those guesses.

Someone pick up that phone because I CALLED IT! (And some others did as well...)

Thanks for the guide, great and useful as always! Sad to hear you will stop at the end. 😥

But a little bit late for me, because i started challenges as soon as they were released. 😀

But i found the same path, and you can even get a little 30k more if you save the last survivor's challenge before epilogue, because the dlc will probably be released before level 4, so you don't need to reach epilogue now, i guess.

Well technically yes, you could save an extra 30k that way.

But I didn't really include that into the post because a fully preserved guide, to me anyways, goes from the prologue and finishes on the epilogue. So technically you could preserve that node and use it when the new DLC releases, making it 470k, but I didn't bother doing that since you didn't TECHNICALLY "finish" the level.

The same can also be said for... basically every level you do, so it's hard to really say if level 2 or level 1s routes were also the "most optimal" since I didn't save the node before the epilogue. So, that's something i'll have to think about later on if I want to change it.

  • @gelukrait @CrazyFred_

If you both took different paths than never mind, but it's good for comparison for future levels. Either way, I'll leave this @ her if either of you're interested.

Nah, this is stupid. It may take more skill to use a mouse and keyboard, that doesnt mean youre better at the game. If anything using a controller as a survivor gives you more of an advantage because its easier. But IN GAME the skills are the same. The only real difference here is a nurse or huntress with keyboard/mouse. Otherwise, youre just up your own ass because you spent more miney on your rig.

If you're playing on a mouse and keyboard than yes, you have an advantage. And while it's also true that skill is accumulated through experience, it's also true that using either controls requires some time as well.

If you're used to using a controller on console than obviously it'll take some time to get used to playing on mouse and keyboard. The same can be said vice versa. Because of this, most players notice that mouse and keyboard are a lot more effective when playing either roles, hence why I even mention it at all in my previous comment. Using a mouse and keyboard opens up a lot more avenues in maneuverability, as well as tactically as well.

Of course it's also true that one has advantages over the other, like how a controller makes it easier to 360, while a mouse gives you more room as a Killer to lunge at certain angles. At the end of the day, skill is subjective, and so is this discussion. My opinion might be entirely different from someone elses experience, which usually results in a unsatisfying answer for the OP.

All in all, make of it as you will. Some console players have also said that switching to PC has made it a lot easier to play DBD, while some PC players have also said the switch to console is harder. As a result, a players full potential really comes down to what they're comfortable with. Also I never really said it was a fact that PC players were superior, I tried to dance around that because again, it's subjective. It does come off that way though, which is my own fault.

  • I didn't main this Killer per-say, but I stayed away from them for the longest time because of how bad they were.

Who might they be you may ask? Pre-Rework Freddy. When I was new to DBD I refused to buy his DLC because of how bad I thought he was. This mostly came from others telling me and a few matches with him when the Splinter Offerings were still usable. As a result, I have a lot of Smoking Splinters from my earlier days!

Anyways, I never gave Freddy a actual chance with his add-ons or perks enabled, so a long time passed where I had every DLC (at the time) except Freddys. Then, one day, I just decided to buy his DLC to complete the list and then benched him again for another month. After that month passed, I gave him a try and actually fell in-love with the Killer! I never had so much fun with a Killer since I mained Myers right at the start of my journey in DBD.

He was a lot of fun to play and I do miss how he used to be. That's not to say he didn't deserve a buff/rework, but there was just something about him that really made every game enjoyable. But unfortunately, I don't hold this same regard to Post-Rework Freddy unfortunately and have since benched him again as a result.

There was just something about playing such a low-tier Killer that was fun. I loved Sniper Freddy and the overall experience Pre-Rework Freddy gave. My favorite thing about him was being next to Survivors that would hide in plain site, since nobody really knew what to do when Freddy was nearby. As a result, I have a few funny screenshots from the past because of this.

Overall, I do miss old Freddy... But I have recently found enjoyment with The Clown so... there's that.

  • The difference in skill primarily comes from the different controls that're being used for both platforms.

It's common knowledge that PC has a more "superior skill-set" because of how the controls for this game works with a mouse and keyboard. There's a lot that goes into why that's the case, but I'm sure you can figure out what I mean on your own. There are good consoles players too of course, some even better than PC players, but the majority comes from PC players due to how the controls work.

And the same walking pattern. I don't know what to call it.. cartoon style maybe?

Staggering is probably what you're thinking of. Both characters are shown staggering in pain, The Alchemist because he's going through withdrawal and this character for whatever reason. Could be the same character, could be someone else.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

If you look extremely closely you can see a snout starting to form. Definitely a werewolf. I just hope it's not too similar to Demo with the Shred attack or Legion with increased speed from Feral Frenzy.

I don't see anything protruding from his face in the video, he's clearly in a tattered robe so that might be what you're seeing idk.

  • Just a wild guess, but it could be "the alchemist"

    Great guide ! Thanks !

But like @gelukrait , too late for me too, if only i discovered this thread earlier ... 😐️

    @FireHazard , did you already check levels 3 & 4 before their release ( via https://dbd.onteh.net.au/archives ) to get a sneak peek of future guides ? 😄

I tried a first approach, and i got 410,000 bloodpoints saved for level 3, and got 510,000 bloodpoints saved for level 4. Don't know if it's the best value. 🤔

I don't really look ahead for stuff like that, I just do it when the level releases. I can't really create a revised version of the future levels if there's no image for reference.

I'm sure the site provides one, but again, it's probably not something that's usable. More-so because of the quality the image might be in, but also because I probably can't release guides for levels that're not released yet. This means that if that's the case, than I wouldn't be able to release the new level until the day it's released anyways, so doing it ahead of time isn't helpful.

In case you need information of the rest levels of tome 4, you can refer here:

    https://dbd.onteh.net.au/#archives

Devs might change the condition for each node, but the graphs and bonuses will stay the same

Alright, sounds good. Worst case I decide to not continue this, but we'll see what happens.

  • @gelukrait said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1524586#Comment_1524586

No, I am asking you to build the routes for 2nd, 3rd and 4th levels as you did for the first one, which can save most BP and nodes as possible.

I already finished the first level as same route as you mentioned, but incidently redeemed the first killer challenge.

We'll have to see what happens, I wanted to see how this guide goes to judge if it's worth doing anymore for the rest of the levels/future tomes. I still haven't decided if I want to do it, but if I don't, this example should give you an idea on how you can do it yourself, based on the example above as a reference for future levels.

But again, you'll have to see in two days (when the next level comes out) if I want to do that or not, I'm still not sure yet.

  • @gelukrait said:

as I told you, it wouldn't change anything. Since most of the times Myers one-taps you, which is basically not knowing when he is in t3. It would only give Myers the ability to pop t3 at a long distance, then downing another survivor, but it's basically one tapping.

I fail to see how none of those changes do nothing, if you pair both the OPs and mine side by side it's literally the same thing. The Survivor doesn't know they're exposed, they get downed, and that's it. Yes, it's common that Myers pops Tier 3 usually behind someone within a few meters, which would make it kind of pointless, but my comment wasn't really serious in the first place so... I don't see why it's being taken seriously.

In the case of the OPs change it's more sudden since Ghostface doesn't have a stance change when you're exposed, but if you remove the stance change with Myers it's basically the same outcome... a sudden down. The same can be said for Ghostface as well, he can also stand within a few meters and one tap someone who's at 99%.

  • @YaiPa said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1468625#Comment_1468625

worthless change. Most of the times Myers one-taps the survivors, before that you can't have any knowledge about his stalking rate. If you see somebody going instantly down you know Myers has T3, then you can just start a countdown.

Then let me elaborate a bit more. The stance doesn't change, there's no cue to the Tier being changed, and his Terror Radius does not increase during Tier lll. The same issues could still apply to what you said, but the point of this post wasn't to really mention what happens AFTER the first person gets downed, just the first person being downed.

  • The real question is, what if nobody could tell Myers was in his Tier lll state.

  • @V1V3 said:

You're telling me the game isn't even all regions? And the ranks seem to do more hard than good.

I don't know what you mean by "all regions". The match-making, at least at the moment, depends on a few main factors like where you live, the time of day you're in depending on the peak hours your region gets, and the rank you're in that pairs you with similar ranked Survivors and Killers.

This goes for every region and every player, not just me specifically.

  • @V1V3

It always depends on the time of day, region, and rank for the most part. Like for example, I get insta-matches as Killer when It's 12AM to 4AM, but after that it takes about 2 minutes.

  • That would actually be cool, seconds off the action displayed for time based perks/add-ons and other such things to correspond with other perks/add-ons.

  • @ZerLukas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1430871#Comment_1430871

I think they expected everyone to play with the base setiings without ever trying to change them. That's why brightness offerings were a thing and FOV perks still are.

But adding FOV slider would actually be balanced. Simply because everyone can change it if they want to so noone gets a real competitive advantage here.

As for perks only Shadowborn will have to be reworked. M&A will still be fine as it still has uses with the terror radius shifts (though a buff to compensate is welcome)

When I mean it would be unbalanced or not i'm mostly talking about how one FOV change would be more of an advantage than the others. A lot of Killers like Billy, Nurse, and even Spirit gain a decent advantage when their FOV is increased. If there was an FOV slider than Killers like these would just keep it on the most reasonable settings for their play style. Whether this would ACTUALLY change anything during a chase or not is subjective at best.

I also don't know why brightness offerings existed either, that's something only the devs know to be honest. We can make theories about that yes, but I don't think anyone truly knows why.

Also when I mention M&A I mostly mean the FOV changes when you're in and out of a chase.

  • @Nilexion

If you mean "is the crown for Claudette still available" than yes, it's available to obtain until the event ends. There was some recent issues with players not being able to obtain the crown due to a bug, but I believe that has mostly been fixed. To obtain the crown you simply grab a crown from one of the respawning "crown altars" and escape with the glowing aura.

If you mean the other event items that you get when you log in, than I believe you can only obtain those within a certain time-frame. That time-frame for each one was listed somewhere, but I unfortunately cannot find it at the moment.

Just putting that out there: most people I've seen think that a 50% speed increase is the same as a 50% reduction in time spent.

    It... it's not...?

But seriously, I think the percentage based system would probably be more confusing to some people. Whether that's true or not is... debatable?

  • @ZerLukas said:

It's a perk designed in 2016. Devs had some wierd ideas then, like offerings to increase or decrease brightness.

Concepts come in go, offerings and perks get changed or shelved when the game gets changed. If they did eventually add an FOV slider to the game than I wouldn't be surprised if M&A and Shadowborne get changed as well. But I feel they never added an FOV slider because of balance or something, I don't know the exact details so that's just a theory.

  • @Mooks said:

Okay seriously. Why is an 11 year old even interested in DbD? I mean I know there are kids in that age that can process it well enough but there are reasons why this game has an age restriction..

I mean I used to play M rate games all the time back in the 360 days. Its not uncommon, especially these days, for kids to be playing M rated games now. But that's another can of worms to discuss, I don't personally want to start said discussion either.

  • I feel that the open invitation has always been there, even before it was mentioned in that post. Jason would be a great addition to DBD, considering all the other horror icons are also in the game (by that I mean big names like Freddy, Michael Myers, Leather Face, Amanda Young from SaW, Ghostface, etc).

I believe it hasn't happened yet because the license holders cannot agree upon a deal. Also anyone can quote me if i'm wrong, but I believe the license for Jason is also split up between two people or "factions", one being from a company and the other from someone who owns the rights to Jasons name and backstory. But hey who knows, anything can happen with enough time.

I feel like it came after the Robbie skins for Legion. People who didn’t recognize the character kinda associated it with a FNAF style. On top of that, Pyramid Head opened the door for video game characters to join the game.

At least this is what I guess happened. I personally wouldn’t like a FNAF chapter but I won’t rag on those who do.

It was a thing long before the Robbie skins, it mostly just stems from the hype for more licensed Killers. That, and some Fnaf fans just want it to happen. I've mostly seen the community be indifferent about it, but it also sometimes goes from no to yes depending on who's commenting.

  • "Insta-saw" is just a name for add-on combos like Tuning Guide + Primer Bulb or Thompson Mix + Tuning Guide. Nobody actually thinks it's instant, it's just a name.

It's also called other names as well, but most people refer to it as insta-saw for those add-on combos. It's like when Nurse had the "Omega Blink" add-on combos, it's just a quick nickname for others to instantly understand (no pun intended).

  • As much as I loved the old Legion concept, he had way too many problems to be considered balanced. The way he is now is a lot more reasonable during a chase, it's only difficult to face Legion when you're facing certain builds or players.

Its funny I just learned hes getting even more nerfs lol

Well that isn't uncommon tbh, Oni got nerfed in his early days due to his Demon Dash and flicking.

I.was wondering what it looked like. Thanks!

No problem, hopefully it'll give you an idea on if it's worth getting or not.

A little trick to getting the Classy Act achievement, apparently if you use Mary's Letter to go to Midwich Elementary it will always spawn both of the necessary generators.

I usually just go to the Music Room since it's the easiest to remember... And also the one that mostly spawns. I also had to use the Letter to get the achievement since the random spawns took literal hours, sometimes the entire day! But that's good to know for players that want to do this achievement in the future.

Much better than the premium skins that can't be mixed...

I honestly wish they could be mixed with the Prestige skins, I think the P2 and P1 skins would look great with the Corrupted Pyramid Head.
