Personally, it looks like a Chocolate bar, the red part is the wrapper and the white and brown part is the Chocolate. It could also be a Candy Cane, but I haven't seen a Candy Cane that looks like that.

  • @batmanscar

Side-note, if it wasn't obvious than taking a hit for a healthy Survivor doesn't count towards the "protection hit score event".

Learned that the hard way and took a hit with no benefit. You can gain protection hits towards MoM by taking a hit for an injured Survivor or getting hit while the Killler is carrying a Survivor. I believe you can also get a protection hit by getting hit near a hooked Survivor, but i'm not 100% sure if that's actually true, so don't go in expecting that to be the case.

By reading her story in Tome II, It looked like to me she is Mexican.

The part she played in part Memory 5824 isn't a direct confirmation to this, that's just a role she was given at the time. Unfortunately there isn't anything about her ethnicity in any of the memories, at least from what I read and re-read just now.

You could argue that the role was supposed to reflect what kind of Latina she was, but this isn't directly confirmed anywhere else, so it could've just been a way to show how insensitive her past roles were.

This bug (maybe a bug?) is going on since the beggining of 2019. Not related to dedicated servers, at least on PS4.

Perhaps it's an ongoing issue than.

We might see a fix to it eventually, but who knows.

Can shoot thru the railings??? I tried that sometimes, and didnt get it. Good to know.

Needs to be done through the gaps in the railing itself, you can do this on a lot of loops, even the crane loop in Azarov's.

My issue is I prestige and earn BP and shards...and what can I do with it after all the hard work. You need so many shards to buy any decent cosmetic or a new unlicensed killer and BP is only used for perks and in game items. I know the DEVs want you to spend real money to get the really fun cosmetics but I think If I've been playing this game good and long enough I should be able to cash in my time and BP and shards for the same reward that people fork over $20 or more for off the bat.

It's an interesting idea, but I don't entirely know if BHVR is game for it.

Converting Shards and BPs into Auric Cells would have to have an exchange system put in place, it would also require a means to distribute this in-general, through an exchange service? A mini-game? Or maybe a reward system that gives you Auric Cells for difficult tasks. Either way, I don't know if it's something they'd be interested in, but you never know of course, I can't write it off immediately since I don't work for BHVR.

  • @Bludge23

I believe this was asked awhile ago, but nothing came of it. Hopefully you'll get an official response to clear things up.

  • @AVoltech

You need to be more specific on what offerings you're talking about.

The only ones that were retired was the Splinter offerings, these were retired due to many reasons i'll list below.

    • Their "Demo Play" concept was outdated to today's DBD
    • They were incredible buggy and sometimes didn't even work when used
    • You would still get these in your blood-web, even if it's the exact Killer that Splinter is supposed to Demo... this is due to players not buying the DLC and instead buying the Killers through the shop
    • They cluttered blood-webs, cost a lot in the blood-webs themselves, and sometimes didn't even work when used. So as a result, they were taking up space in most blood-webs from players that didn't own the DLC on steam.

Those are most of the reasons why they retired the offering entirely. Of course these are not officially why they retired them, it's mostly just speculation from common sense and an outside perspective.

  • @Spectre13 said:

I think the game should implement a reward system for playing certain survivors or killers a certain week or 2 out of the month. Besides the daily rituals make it so like you earn extra for hitting a 2 or 3 tier level of prizes. (Example play as Meg and do "X" 2 times to receive "Y" rewards. Do X 4 times and receive Y x2 etc) maybe make the rewards extra shards or auric cells or the final reward can be a cosmetic.

I don't see why we need more reward systems...

We already have Daily Rituals, The Archives, BPS's, Puddings, Cakes, and the Shrine of Secrets for bonus BPs on already owned perks. The devotion system handles the shards, and I don't personally see Auric Cells being a reward, unless it's something like The Rifts system where you spend 1k Auric Cells and get 1k Auric Cells back when you get to Tier 70.

It really depends on your timezone. For me, it happens at 5 AM (CET). My best guess would be that it happens at 12 AM EST, which is the timezone Montreal uses.

Most likely yeah, I don't remember it happening on 12 exactly, but it should be around that time, since this isn't a Chapter update or anything.

  • @DevinitelyAMoron

I personally wouldn't want that in the game either. If Survivors could filter out what Killers they don't want to face, than the variety in the game would suffer as a result. The queue times would also be longer and the overall experience in-game would be dull and bland.

If you say... filtered it so you only face M1 Killers, than wouldn't that get boring after 5 matches? The same chases over and over with no unique style to it. That's not to say M1 Killers are boring, but facing them in every chase can get kind of dull.

  • @gatsby

I don't remember if there's a specific time, it just happens on every 13th of every new month.

I wouldn't be surprised if it happens at 12AM at night, but I never payed attention to WHEN it happens. It might happen at 11AM, but don't quote me on that.

  • @scoser said:

I can confirm this, as I was getting progress for getting grabbed off totems as a survivor. Does not appear to count if they hit you to down you while cleansing the totem, but being pulled off the totem by the Deathslinger harpoon does appear to count.

Bought the Saw chapter and got a splinter to play the Pig on Pig, man I was so excited

All seriousness I don't see an issue with them going, I've only ever seen Pig and Michael ones though

Probably because you bought some DLC beforehand, or it's just the RNG idk.

If you buy a Killers DLC on the steam store than the Splinters cease to exist in your blood-webs, if you bought them in the shop than you actually might get a smoking splinter on Freddy for example, which is funny to think about.

  • @ChainsawCharlie said:

I hated them because they kept popping up for killers I already owned. In fact, I had a Nightmare Splinter pop up in Freddy's own web...and the fact that you play perkless and without add-ons is weird. I figured they would at least equip you with that killer's 3 base perks, but they do not. Overall, I don't have a problem with these going away.

Yes that was apparently really common for players that bought Killers in the shop itself and not through the DLC...

Which I find kind of funny that you can demo Freddy while using the offering AS Freddy.

  • @Hopesfall said:

can i get my bloodpoints back for them? nope

  • @jamako

If it's any consolation, BBQ & Chili has only shown up in the Shrine of Secrets 4 times, and with the more perks they add the higher those odds go unfortunately.

That still doesn't make the odds of it any better or worse, it just goes to show how often that perk shows up through RNG itself, which as you can see is not much. Some perks like Diversion (Adams Perk) have only shown up twice, while Buckle Up (Ashes Perk) has only shown up one time in it's entire release... I wish you the best of luck for it to show up, hopefully that'll be one of these weeks ahead.

here's the shrine of secrets archive if you're interested in looking up any other perks

Keep in mind that this won't increase the odds of a perk showing up, but it won't decrease them either... it's just there for you to review if you're curious about how many times a certain perk has shown up.

Hey, Doc just changed the Character infobox so that it has a link to the Movement Speed article. Now it should be easier to find.

But it's true this page used to be very simple and didn't have such a vast quantity of information on it. The Interactions page also has some number values on it for further reference, they are mostly not related to movement speeds though.

That's good to hear, thank you for letting me know about this change. Also thank you for changing it in-general, now it should be easier to find for others as well.

  • @des7in

I don't see anything about this being changed in the recent patch notes, it's most likely a latency issue as said above and nothing else. I've done this before against The Doctor as well, and it's always worked with a slow/fast vault into the locker.

  • @Silvernightwolf

It could be because of your Survivor, some Killers hate certain Survivors and target them more than others.

As said above, there's no way to preview a Survivors perk selection before and during the match, only when the match ends.

When you're rarely able to execute it though, it's more trouble than it's worth and you'd be better off with green or ebony. Dude yellow mori is like an oxymoron, is basically useless and not scary whatsoever, especially with the Endgame Collapse, and...essentially is useless for killers.

It wasn't meant to be as damaging as a Ivory or Ebony mori, that's why it's rarity is uncommon.

All a Cypress Memento mori does is give you an alternative option when killing the last remaining Survivor, that's it, there isn't anything you can add or take away from that concept...

Thanks guys, I've noticed that, doesn't matter how I move, the bar barely moves and with my luck I'm always getting stuck in the open so no objects to put between us :(

If you move side to side it actually increases the bar, you can also pull back to make the bar increase slightly faster than usual.

But that's about it, if you were expecting a way to break the chain with your bare hands than unfortunately you can't, you either have to hope he doesn't have enough distance to reel you in, or break it with objects/players that get in-front of the chain/

The biggest problem I’ve found is the small square building that has a staircase into a vault, that thing can be looped forever.

The upstairs saloon gen is super safe, it’s essentially a free gen.

Trapper, huntress and Deathslinger might be ok but any other killer I’m lucky to get a 2k on that map.

The breakable wall loops are strong until you break the walls, pretty much forcing you to break them or loop forever.

Well you can break the breakable walls in the saloon to make it easier to access, on it's own it's pretty safe.

Same with shack, you can either play shack normally or break a wall and make it a lot easier. That's the idea behind the mechanic, spend some time to break a wall and the loop becomes a lot more easy.

I think I know what you're talking about with the small square building, that loop is kinda meh, since you can drop down from the platform by either vaulting or jumping in one of the holes, so it's an ok loop, I wouldn't say it's an infinite or anything. You can try mind-gaming it with moonwalking, see how that goes.

With all that being said, the map is still fairly new, so give it some time before you're fully convinced.

The DBD wiki says that the score event is after making all 4 survivors reaching Madness tier III in a single match, and I did receive it after getting someone to Madness tier III, so that might be what it is.

That's what I was thinking too, so when I was trying to answer this question I looked through footage for about 30 minutes and never found this happening once.

This is most likely what happens though, I just couldn't get a solid answer unfortunately.

it is very funny to see survivors crumble under the pressure when they think they will be morried

Happens a lot, I can see why since the fear of Ebony Memento Mori's is very real. Sometimes it's scarier than the Killer themselves, which is odd to think about.

That is a bummer. So there is no way to see who the killer is until the end of the match then?

No, unfortunately there isn't. You can sometimes see a preview of what Killer you're facing when they're new, I myself have seen this yesterday during Deathslingers release, but in-general there isn't a way to know who is playing that Killer and seeing who the Killer is through future previews.

No problem, glad I could help you out.

  • @Tro

I'm fine on it personally, the maps a decent size with a lot of options and route to choose from. I disagree that plenty of the loops are strong, as some of the loops are indeed strong, while others are very small in comparison.

It also doesn't help that the tiles that make up the loops are new and confusing, some some of them are perceived as strong, while some of them are quite standard. You also have the option to break through several of the loops walls to make it easier to chase around, so it's only natural you'd confused.

The best advice I can give is to chase how normally would, say around several of the basic loops, get a feel for how the map is design and such, break the shacks breakable wall to make it a lot easier to chase around, and eventually you'll get used to it. The main building doesn't offer much in terms of broken loops, so I wouldn't worry about that either. The layout is kind of confusing sometimes, but you can eventually get used to it.

honestly I bring it to make survivors think I have an ivory and it pops up as a treat if im going to 4k because I forget I have it

Sometimes it makes Survivors play worse when they know a hidden offering is present, so that also helps with the idea of being a bigger threat, which makes more mistakes happen as a result.

But yeah, Cypresses are easily forgotten when you know it only works on the last remaining Survivor.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1152793#Comment_1152793

It does. Thanks so much :> Any good tips on how to maximize the doctor's offensive strength? Shocking physically disables a person temporarily, and it tends to not help me kill as often as I want :c Hence my experimentation with perks. I'm guessing an instadown perk would help? Or a bunch of them? Especially moris.

It depends what you're comfortable with.

If you don't mind using a mori than yes, that could help you out with pressure, but in my honest opinion it's not entirely needed. Shock Therapy is just used to stop people from vaulting or dropping pallets, that's about it, doing so gives you the chance to easily down them as a result. It also boosts their Madness level which can disable their progress until they "Snap Out of It" at Tier lll madness.

Static Blast is just an AOE that gives you spacial awareness, it doesn't really do anything offensively for the most part. But if you need perks, you should try something like Ruin, Surveillance, Enduring, and Brutal Strength. Brutal Strength creates more deadzones on the map by breaking pallets 20% faster, while Enduring lets you barrel through pallets without the worry of a long stun.

Ruin and Surveillance are good for tracking and disabling Generators when you're nearby, and Survivors usually leave a Generator when your presence is known, so that also helps you know that someone is nearby without the use of Static Blast. If you want to get creative than you can try using Sloppy Butcher instead of Brutal Strength, this wastes even more time for the Survivors that need to constantly heal after every hit, which gives you more time to down other Survivors and apply more pressure.

You can also use Nurse's Calling instead of Enduring, just so you get that Sloppy + Nurse's combo, but you already have an easy time detecting Survivors so... it's not really needed. You could try swapping Ruin for Corrupt Intervention, and Surveillance for Devour Hope. Without Ruin it's harder to detect Survivors when Static Blast is on cool-down, but it makes it a lot easier to down Survivors once you hit 3 stacks on Devour Hope. Most Doctors use Ruin though, probably because it's really helpful when you think about how The Doctor works in-general.

Here's a video you might be interested in on basic tiles/loops

This video can help you get used to the most basic tiles in-game, and it can even give you an idea on where to shock as a Killer to avoid pallets and windows from being used!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6QYjInzLeM&t=22s

    [SIDE-NOTE]

Some of the maps in this video have been reworked, or don't show these basic tiles in them. Newer maps such as Hawkins National Laboratory, Sanctum of Wrath, and Dead Dawg Saloon are also not present in this video. This video goes over several basic tiles that still exist in Dead By Daylights most prominent maps, any and all information from this guide is still useful for review. Please keep in mind that this video goes over the most common tiles that you'll find in Dead By Daylight, it's not a review about the maps themselves.

  • @Kuudere1

It depends what you define as "useless".

The Cypress Memento Mori is just a reward for 4king, that's about it. If you'd like to kill someone much earlier in a more... "fair" way, than you can use an Ivory Memento Mori on someone that's on death hook (that means they're dead if they get hooked again).

Cypress Memento Mori's don't really need an update, since there isn't anything to add, unless of course they rework entirely what it's for. But as it stands, there's nothing to really add since the offering is just an alternative end to the last Survivor you down, it even works on Survivors that're left in the trial... so if 3 people escape than it activates for you to use.

It's not your fault, the page is indeed hard to find. I'm not blaming you for concluding there was no answer on the Wiki, I would also think so if I were in your position. My point is, to prevent such misunderstandings from happening in the future, just tell me in case you are unsure about whether or not the wiki has certain information on it.

What I meant by "complaining" is continuously telling users in the Forums that something on the Wiki is wrong in a slightly destructive way when you could just come up to a Wiki Admin and inform them about your concerns. Again, I don't blame you because you probably didn't know who to contact. Finally, like I said, if you are concerned about anything regarding the Wiki, let me know.

You're right, I didn't have anyone to contact prior to this post, but now I do.

I'll be sure to let you know if something is wrong, and/or not present in the future. If I don't than I probably forgot, i'm only human too of course. I'll forward it to Fibijean if she's interested as well.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1152434#Comment_1152434

Are you aware of how it helps? I just need some tips on using it and also on aiming my shock therapy too. If you know exactly what it does to help your aim, that would be helpful.

I would assume the increased FOV makes it easier to spot where a Survivor will go, but he also said it's helpful for him so... to others it might not be.

Increasing your FOV doesn't 100% make it easier to aim, that entirely depends on you guessing where they'll go in the loop itself. It takes practice to figure out where a Survivor naturally goes in a loop or where they don't to avoid the obvious shock therapy blasts, so you need to be aware of this when in a chase. If a Survivor knows you'll shock at a pallet, than you need to size up the Survivor to guess if they fall for that or not, if they don't, than you need to shock where they will go AFTER you shock at a pallet, hopefully that makes sense.

I've tried Dark Devotion in PTB but haven't really gotten around to trying it since the Doctor's changes went live. I can confirm from that DD does come from the Obsession while active. I'm less sure if the Obsession themselves is affected by the Static Blast that comes from them.

Either way it's a fun perk to use with the Doctor since I imagine TR hiding perks aren't commonly seen on him.

The obsession being affected i'm not sure of, if the Static Blast applies to all Survivors it hits than I think it's safe to say it does, but for a 100% confirmed answer I don't know.

It's fun to use though, it's like strapping a static blast to them that you can detonate anytime you want, as long as DD is still active. I can already imagine a Survivor being hit with DD, going to his teammates and than having a Static Blast apply to all of them at once, it's a pretty neat trick tbh.

I see where you're coming from, it is in fact a bit tricky to find this page. However, my point is, you shouldn't really conclude the Wiki doesn't have an answer if you didn't look everything up.

I really care about what Community members think about the Wiki, hence why I try to address all issues that are being pointed out by the Community. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the Wiki or information on it, contact me on Discord or Steam (they can be found on my user profile on the Wiki https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/UserProfile:FichteHiro0202) and I'll do everything in my power to answer the question or address the issue.

We are humans after all, and not Devs, so we don't really have any way to confirm data not gotten from the visible game is accurate. My whole point is, if you have a question or a suggestion, please let me know and we'll discuss it. Complaining about it with other people doesn't really help, you know.

Ok but you're not understanding that if I can't find this link than I can't exactly tell if there was an answer to begin with, hence why the conclusion was made. The link was well hidden to begin with, so unless I had prior knowledge to it's existence (like you do since you work with the DBD wiki), which I didn't, than it's easy to not know it was there. Sorry if that comes off as mean (not trying to be mean), i'm just explaining that there's a reason why I made that conclusion.

I appreciate the link, i'll be sure to make use of it if there's a need to. I'd like to reiterate that nobody was complaing here, all I did was point out that the information wasn't easily accessible and that's all, I don't understand why you draw that conclusion each time we talk.

With that out of the way, thank you for all your hard work. I do understand that you're only human and I do appreciate your work, thanks for putting time into the DBD Wiki for players like us to use.

I agree with you that it's a bit tricky to find this article, but pretty sure they do have links to this page, not many though. The main reason for the article being a bit hidden compared to others is the used formatting. I'm not the one who decides how the Wiki looks like, but I have to stick to the determined formatting.

I can see if we can do something to facilitate the access to the page, which I agree is a bit difficult at the moment.

However, I don't think you should conclude the Wiki doesn't have an answer for the question without asking someone or thoroughly searching through the articles. Saying "I didn't find an answer on the Wiki" would be more appropriate in this case.

I'll keep that in-mind then, despite the fact that I looked into it on other sources as well, they also didn't yield much information since it's a day 1 release... I either have to go on the DBD Wiki to get an answer, go to our outdated/unreliable sources, or get the information myself in-game, which somehow finds its way on the DBD Wiki after...?

I've talked to you in the past about information being incorrect or wrong on the Wiki, it's not intended as a side-jab to the "incompetence" of the writers themselves, it's just an ending comment that I leave and that's all. Again, I appreciate the DBD Wikis constant research that's put out for us to use, but my comment "It isn't easy to find" is quite reasonable, which you even said yourself at the start of your reply.

Also, I concluded that they didn't have an answer because the link to that page is hidden under a piece of text that says "movement speed" in caleb's side description, so it's really easy to conclude that answer as a result. I now know about this page, which i'm thankful for, but you must understand that concluding that answer was due to the link being fairly hidden, since I did triple check before concluding said answer above.

18 meters is not that long either, but I believe it's supposed to cap there for a reason. If you sniped a Survivor with the redeemer at 40 meters, than how would you reel them in before the chain breaks? That'd be kind of impossible.

That's most likely why it's capped at 18 meters, but sometimes I wish it was 20... just to give a bit more distance for those Survivors you were sure got hit by the harpoon.

I am glad this thing is gone, so it can stop forcing me onto it and taking all my bloodpoints from the bloodweb.

Sorry I didn't get to this comment beforehand.

But yes, this is also another reason why a lot of players disliked this offering. If you didn't buy the DLC, and bought the Killers on the shop instead, than even their own special splinters would show up in their blood-webs lol.

So if you bought Freddy on the shop for 500 Auric Cells, than you might get his Smoking Splinter in his blood-web... that's not intentional obviously, but it did happen sometimes.

There isn't any information about that, or at least from what I've heard in recent Dev Streams.

He might never get alternative cosmetics like The Shape or The Pig, mainly because of licensing issues. But we'll see, I wouldn't give up on it yet. Many players thought that Myers would never get an alternative cosmetic, but he did. The same goes for The Pig, many players thought she wouldn't get alternative cosmetics, but now she has 3 new outfits.

18 Meters as said above, the speed in which the harpoon comes out is the equivalent to one fully charged hatchet, or so the Dead By Daylight Wiki says.

There are no add-ons that increase The Redeemers range, so keep that in-mind as well.

I won't go in-depth like I usually do, since I don't have time to do that in-general. But some basic things you'll need when using Trapper is Corrupt Intervention and Brutal Strength, two key perks that most Trappers use in-game. You might ask "why these two specific perks?", it's mostly because Corrupt Intervention is your stand-in for Pre-Ruin, since it stops early Gen-Rushing and gives you some time to set up your bear-traps, but not much of course since some Survivors will sneak around to the open Generators.

Brutal Strength is also a must on Trapper, since he's after all an M1 Killer... so creating a lot of "deadzones" on the map is entirely necessary for future chases in that Trial. For context, a deadzone is when you remove all or most pallets in a certain area of the map, creating a spot where most Survivors can be easily downed. Their only defense is the windows that might be there, and if there's no windows than they're easy pickings at that point.

some other basic bits of information you might be interested in

    • When in a chase, you can try placing a bear-trap down to make the Survivor run away from that loop, once you're mid-animation you can release M2 and chase them right when they run from the loop. It's a strategy that some Trappers do to keep decent or pro-Survivors off of a strong loop.
    • Trap around loops that have patches of grass, this will keep your traps more visible hidden, since good Survivors will keep their eyes on the loop itself and you in a chase, so putting them out in the open could deter Survivors from going there. It also keeps them from immediately spotting your traps to deactivate them, so that's another reason to keep them in grassy spots around loops like The Shack, Jungle Gyms, etc.
    • Keep your traps hidden when trapping at windows. Depending on the loops structure, you should trap inside of the loop itself at the window or outside of it to keep its visibility at a minimal. Use your best judgement when doing this, since some windows might have grassy, while others are bare and easy to spot.
    • Another tip when trapping at pallets directly is to not place your bear-traps right on-top of a pallet itself, if you trap under a pallet than a Survivor can just drop the pallet right on the bear-trap and still use the loop anyways. Make sure you place your traps on either side of where the pallet is dropped, just so the loop itself still becomes immobile.

A video i'd like you to watch if you struggle with basic tiles/loops

The video below is very informative for newer players on how to chase/loop around the most basic tiles that spawn in most Dead By Daylight maps. Learning from this video can give you an idea of where to place your bear-traps, so I highly advice you watch it to get an idea.

It's a confirmed bug yes, my original answer to this question went in-depth about it to see what it did with Surge, but upon further investigation and talk with some people, it was brought to my attention that it's a bug that's not intentional what-so-ever.

So please, don't use Surge with Pop Goes the Weasel, they don't work together and Surge actually deactivates Pop Goes the Weasel.

Unfortunately, you did miss it. On the Movement Speeds article, you can find a nice table where all his movement speeds are listed, including that when aiming down sights: 0,75 x his normal movement speed - 82,5%; 3.3 m/s.

Wasn't even aware that part of the DBD Wiki existed, thanks for letting me know.

But in my defense, they don't have it listed anywhere in his personal log, so why would I fish through a section of the wiki that I wasn't aware existed? Why not just add it to the movement speed part of his side description in the top right hand side.
