I just want to see the guards buffed but make it so the knight can't hit the survivor during a hunt. It'll curbstomp the whole anti-choice thing while also giving extra pressure.

And how many people actually play it? Hell, how many people even know a Fortnite story mode exists?
And with all due respect to BHVR, the multiplayer mode of DBD needs a LOT of love to fix literal broken things, let alone subjective fixes like balancing and matchmaking and whatnot.
It still exist. Nice to have choices.

I don't really see any reason why they'd put resources into a single player mode into a game that has based it's entire existence on being a multiplayer only game. If they decided to, I'd probably play it just to try it but it seems like it would be a pointless add-on to a game that really could use some love in many other places instead.
I mean... we have bots. Besides, Fortnite of all games has a story mode thing.

I'm not sure how that would work because the Entity likes survivors and killers with human emotions, a robot doesn't have that.
Clearly you haven't played the game, then. You'd be amazed.

People don't like the fact you're basically screwed when a guard is after you at a loop and so is the Knight. My solution to this is to make it so the knight can't damage the chased survivor but to make the guards at the same movement speed as the killer. With exception to those that aren't assassin which will be 4.4m/s. Addons would need to be altered and the standard would need adjustments or even removal entirely but this would make the killer not only more viable but more fun as he will no longer be an anti-choice killer like artist.
I feel like this would make that and the only choice being to hold W less painful.

Go afk and watch youtube. I'll let them bore themselves.

Can't have ######### in detroit.

Guys. Just hear me out on this. There are a few simple changes that could be made to make him instantly better in terms of viability and fun. Just read this post and tell me if it's a good idea.

You misspelled something on one of the menus. Here, take this L.
Literally. -
A good amount of people don't like nurse for the sake of it taking away the cool looping aspect (among other reasons). While it isn't exactly anti-choice like Artist or Knight can be, it's still boring. At least to me.

ahaha, the forum quote, but if people are doing that with nemesis' zombies, thats broken too. thats not quick thinking, thats abusing poor game design lol
My brother in christ, there are more important issues than "Oh noooo, I can't wiggle off of his shoulder because he bothered to place down the booooys." Knight is buggy as hell still. I even made a post regarding the fact you can get locked out of your power if you spam the order button on something JUST as you go into patrol mode. Even had my asssassin just... run into a corner and not figure out he can go AROUND it.

no, its not fair, you cant do anything to wiggle off, they can keep you in their arms as long as they want lol, its like slugging but giving you a glimmer of hope and shattering it
People have done that with Nemesis' zombies which was luck based. This is more of just quick thinking. Like... spam until you get assassin on your next turn and then set that down on top of them while you pick up. I would use one of the funniest cloaker quotes from Payday with how salty you are but you're already following his advice.

Maybe... git gud and don't get downed in the first place?

Hi there! Love to hear that you're enjoying the bots! 😊
It is a hope to have perks/loadouts for bots in the future (though likely not all due to the complexity and volume of perks). Not ETA for this, though!
Given how things are right now, how difficult would it be to add prioritization settings to practice different scenarios? By that I mean survivors that would be dead set to do gens or try to keep the killer busy or see tiles as unsafe and not use them?
-
It's been there since the ptb for FIF. You'd think they would find this. Guess they don't care about Legion anymore.

Stealth gen. :> It's really good to get an easy 20 progress in without the killer knowing.

The max is 30% turning into 20% and you lose it if you lose a health state, yes. It’s not a perk you should go out of your way to use every game because in some games it’s just not going to help you. What the perk is good at doing is destroying 3 gens. If you can charge the perk using a gen further away, and then dump that progress onto a more relevant generator the killer wants to defend, that can make a difference.
If you try to force the perk to work every match, it’ll probably end up hurting you more than helping you overall.
It's also good at stealthing a gen, don't forget that. That's why I run it all the time. Less incentive for the killer to kick the gen.
-
It would be an interesting concept to test in ptb. If not then my answer would've been no.
-
I think it's pretty neat. It's like you royally pissed the killer off and now you need to outrun their rage. I could imagine running this on Oni a LOT.

My brother in christ, that is what this game goes off of. Movie shtick. I chose that analogy since it fits in this game.

That's where blindness comes from.
The killer is having to put extra focus onto the survivor due to their fighting spirit, consequently causing them to not pay attention to their surroundings.
Huh... fair.
-
@NMCKE said:

The purpose of the perk is to waste time with transportation, but it's inconsistent — either it does nothing or does too much.
Therefore, it should just apply blindness to the killer when transporting survivors. Wouldn't be oppressive because all they have to do is use their eyes or glance at a hook location beforehand.
Boil Over
While the killer is carrying you, they suffer from the blindness status effect, which lingers for an additional 10/15/20 seconds after they stop carrying you.
Wouldn't that take away from what the perk name means? Like the survivor struggles with all their might.

I don’t think that, necessarily. I just asked if you personally had issues with the perk.
Aside from it being boring in its utility, not really. Just want perks to have fun stuff with them. Thought THAT would make the perk fun on both sides.

Hey, if shoving a survivor aside doesn't hurt them, I think it'd be alright. Just trying to think how it could be done without people whining and whatnot. I DEFINITELY want killers to feel powerful. Thinking it'd be funny for someone like Frank to just shoulder bash through someone and knock them back while going through.
Damn it, now I'm thinking of certain killers being able to have effects with this action. Blight basically knocking them aside if he runs into a survivor while rushing and Legion just bashing them out of the way with the press of a button...

It’s a perk for survivors so it should actually help them in trial, like how killer perks help killers. It doesn’t really matter because killers have perks that directly counter Boil Over, and seem to manage fine against it without using either of them. I’m quite sure Boil isn’t a game changer perk at this point. Are you personally losing to survivors running it?
I'm a little offended you think I'm commenting on this over losing to boil over. I just wanted to give a neat buff idea and it feels as if you think I want to nerf it. Is what I'm not presenting good enough to be considered a buff? :<

Yes, however that is the counterplay (along with perks like Agitation and Iron Grasp). My point was that the changes you’ve suggested for Boil Over eliminate the meager value it currently provides. Personally, I don’t see it often at all—as survivor or killer. It’s probably just too niche outside of dedicated builds (and even then, there are just better perks to run in place of it). But it seems kind of odd to nerf a perk like this again.
What I fail to see is how or why you think that giving survivors (who will still have increased wiggle intensity when having the perk equipped) the privilege to wiggle wherever direction they want to move the killer in which the killer will have to figure out to counter. Would it be a better idea to have that on top of the drop bonus wiggle we currently have?
-
@Ayodam said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3270677#Comment_3270677
Because instead of disrupting the killer’s pathing they can resist your Boil Over (which currently has a chance at colliding them with environmental objects, thus allowing more time for a survivor to wiggle free) by pulling in the opposite direction.
If people ignore you here it may be because you’re perceived as obstinate or unpleasant to deal with otherwise. I don’t know you; in fact I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to you before, but when I stop responding to people those are usually my reasons.
At least you took the time to talk with me about it, which I appreciate. I feel that resisting the wiggle isn't that useful when you can surf on it instead. Also, don't killers already do that?
-
@Ayodam said:

Isn’t this just another nerf? I guess it’s pretty well nerfed now but it just seems that this would be another nerf.
Will you explain how or be like a lot of other's have been when arguing with me online by leaving me on read? I really think it would be a cool idea to have jagged shifts in a direction the survivor picks which the killer could play around.
-
@ProfessorDunwich said:
It's just a poorly designed perk. Either it is game breaking, depriving the Killer of their main objective consistently or it is borderline useless. It is mostly in the second category now, although in rare instances coordinated Sabo squads can make it a nightmare for Killers to deal with. The perk needs a total rework.
They could change it by reworking it into allowing you to choose which direction you want to wiggle in which the killer can also counter by turning themselves. Back and forth being a new way to wiggle with this perk, as well.

Not via the touch of a button for no work put in. I don't buy the "Killer is faster, so they find hatch first way more" argument either. Good horror films make all the characters fear the threat, not just 3/4.
I mean... when I'm the last one and the hatch spawned, I'm still pretty cautious. I feel like I can't buy your argument either. At least your other reason was reasonable. This one seems more subjective since these aren't actors PAID to fear the killer in a film.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
Hatch. Takes away a hard-fought kill from killer with the touch of a button. Takes away any semblance of teamwork or motivation from your solo teammates the moment things start going south.
I remember us thinking of this game as like horror movie tropes and how one escapes in the end to tell the story or something. Isn't that what a lot of good horror films do?

This is gonna be VERY unpopular but: Looping.
on both sides actually. I might survive more often if the game would resolve around more hiding and have less looping tiles, more evading possibillitys.
And as a killer i would enjoy it more chasing someone around the map and through paths than in circles. Would be more immersive i think.
What if they were somehow able to compromise? A part of me wants to say this is a literal skill issue if you're having trouble with looping and whatnot. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO SEEM RUDE, THOUGH.

If the devs ignore this, they are poopyheads.

Agreed. I keep saying it as well. Your choice of playing soloq and isolating yourself ! Every time I get tunneled out of the game I blame my team mates, we think back and improve. Same goes for when someone dies (3 hooks) and there are some people with 0-1. Often doing gens on the other side of the map. If I have 0 hooks and 1 team mate is at 1-2 it is my interest to go and suggest to be chased. Eventually making the killer think I am an easy target. Very few killers will commit to tunnel when they are literally body blocked. And it just takes the minimum amount of communication.
Yeah, I rarely tunnel unless you somehow get onto my shiddlist.
-
@Cyber_Atlas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/355024/i-hate-to-say-it-but-this-game-is-balanced
Finally someone saying it :')
It is balanced around the idea that if survivors cooperate and play their cards they WILL escape.
If they don't, they will get recked.
To hell all the vocabulary of tunneling/camping ^^ a 2 men escape is still a win and nothing a killer can do can grant a killer win.
Once again proving how we need voice comms. I couldn't care less if this community is too far gone. We NEED communication in solo other than pointing, waving and teabagging.

It sort of is, but it sort of isn’t.
It forces stuff like Adrenaline to deal with the deep wound first (instead of healing you to healthy), since otherwise it’d defeat the point of deep wound. But going from injured to deep wound doesn’t count as losing a health state for purposes of perks that trigger on health state loss (eg. blood favor).
But no, mending is not considered a healing action and is not affected by any perks on either side. As such, it is also not considered healing for purposes of conspicuous actions and therefore does not disable Endurance or DS, even if you are mending another survivor.
The lack of consistency is pissing me off, actually. WOW.

tried playing it with a friend from dbd when it came out and just kept facing the same demon over and over again. He'd get early possession and harass somebody within like 5 mins of the game starting we'd have half the team dead and the other half trying to run their souls. Every other game was like this.
Has this changed any?

Either make adrenaline ignore it or treat it as a healing action like the perk does. There really needs to be less confusion.

To be honest I can understand that and I can understand that you would like to do this with the legion cause you like them and there lore and designe same goes for me but I don't think a killer can have both at the same time. A viable hit and run kit and a viable chase oriented kit cause with better chase qualities the slowdown required for hit and run would be to much.
So it either ends on everyone that enjoys legion know loses something the like and they maybe just bought because of how it originally was or people that really like everything else about legion won't get a killer they want to play gameplay wise. It's a tricky situation and because it's tricky i hate to see how often we have stupid threats out there just saying rework them into anything else it would be better then now
(not meaning your threat btw)
Think you meant thread because threat's a WHOLE different thing. I really wish there were ways that powers could be altered. Like the mutations in VHS which can change the playstyle around. It would lead to a LOT more variety in the same killers people face.
-
@Starrseed said:
As a fellow legion main i have to say I don't like this. I play legion because they have a hit and run playstyle. Jumping from target to target stabbing around is what makes them my most loved killer and your idea would just make them another press button to chase killer and I would need to lay my beloved legion to rest.
Power level wise legion is at a good point right know maybe pills are a bit strong on solos but that's more a overall solo problem then a Legion problem.
The most complaints we get is that mending is unfun and lame and I kinda get that but mending is necessary so the hit and run playstyle works or should I say something like mending is necessary cause bhvr could work out a way to slow them down so you have time for hit and run without being so lame for the survivors
Oh... ew.
But seriously, I understand why you'd think that. I just want to actually commit to a chase, you know?
