In my 2500 hours i faced 4 man swf more like 7 times if not less. BHVR also posted somewhere how rare it is . It was more like 4% if i recall correct.

If they dont bring hook offerings its nothing really.
Specifically, it's that about 4-6% (depending on platform) of players who queue for survivor are part of a 4-man SWF group, or at least that was the data around the middle of last year. It's all in this post here if you wanted to bookmark it or something: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/61114/community-community-data-requests

Modifying the game files for things like custom perk icons is not bannable, but the official policy is "do it at your own risk". Meaning the devs won't try to stop you, but if EAC automatically bans you for modifying game files, there's nothing the devs can do about it.
Having said that, I've never heard of anyone being banned by EAC for using custom perks, so you're probably in the clear. Just bear in mind that it's not officially endorsed, so if something does happen, you're on your own.

Its funny because i never encountered Leatherface wearing one of those :D
Ah well i see. I thought they are going to be really identical like just one of the survivors regular faces.
I haven't seen them around much either... Although it's possible that we have and just didn't notice, since at a glance all of them, except maybe Claudette's, could easily be mistaken for the default face.

I imagine it wouldn't be too hard if you're specifically trying to get it. Toss on Thrill of the Hunt and some other hex perks of your choosing (preferably Haunted Ground), maybe M&A for the reduced TR or some TR while aiming down sights add-ons, and then you could probably get it fairly easily. You get notifications every time someone starts working on a hex totem and you can yank them off from a distance before they even hear you coming.
By "interrupt", does it specifically mean grabbing, or can you get the achievement by interrupting the action in other ways, such as by hitting the survivor?

Any news on this?
The Bug Report thread for this issue has been marked as "acknowledged", which means the devs are aware of the bug and are troubleshooting it internally.

Do they all look identical?
LordEmrich gave you a visual answer above, but no, each one literally looks like the face of the corresponding survivor.

I unlocked my Jake mask after a match in which I moried one, so I'm pretty sure moris do count -unless it was shadow changed recently.
Seems likely, then. That's good to know, thanks for sharing 😊
-
Personally, although I'm a lot less averse to slugging than most survivor mains seem to be, I'd much rather be picked up and hooked than crawl around for four minutes until I bleed out because the killer has no idea where I am.
-
I don't know if it's the most underrated, but Poised is one that springs to mind.
I've seen people say that it's useless or terrible, but I actually think it's great and it's saved my life many times. If you're the one that completes the generator (which tends to attract killers if they're not already in a chase), you can vacate the scene quickly and without a trace, and if someone else repairs a generator, you get a free ten seconds - quite a long time in DBD - of sprinting with zero downside. It also combos quite well with Adrenaline.

I think moris count, too.
They might do. It says "sacrifice" on the Gamepedia wiki, but I can't confirm either way as I haven't tried it for myself.

This has been reported as a bug. I would advise you to head over to the Bug Reports section and upvote the thread, and maybe add a comment with any additional insights or experiences you have (be sure to include your platform as well).

Fun is subjective, but Oni is the strongest of the three, Clown has the best perks, and Deathslinger is new and exciting. I'd say pick whoever you think you'd have the most fun playing, or if you can't decide, keep playing and saving up shards and then you can get two at once later on if you want to.
-
It's never okay for anyone to do it, killer or survivor, unless they have a real life emergency or they're stuck in the match and can't leave by any other means.
Anyone who says that it's okay for survivors to DC but not killers is simply operating to an unfair double standard (although I've yet to come across anyone claiming such a thing).
-
This was the last official word I saw on it from the devs, and I don't think the plan has changed since then.
-
I believe you have to sacrifice each of the four original survivors (Dwight, Meg, Claudette and Jake) 25 times each to get their respective faces. So you get the Dwight face after sacrificing 25 Dwights, the Claudette one after sacrificing 25 Claudettes, etc.

I'm unsure whether there is one for the Temple of Purgation. No-one has found it yet, and the Devs have been vague in their responses.
I don't think there is, because it's part of the Red Forest realm and I believe there is already one on the Mother's Dwelling map. In fact, I'm pretty sure the devs confirmed somewhere that Temple of Purgation didn't have one, but I wouldn't know where to start looking for the exact quote. Glenvale is a brand new realm, though, so it would be breaking pattern if Dead Dawg Saloon didn't contain a golden toolbox in a way that the lack of one in the Temple does not.

Yea but in that same survey they asked if we were interested in lobby/post game survivor emotes. Which could easily devolve into fortnite like dances if they sell well enough. Especially when they also hinted about pop culture references in the very same survey. It's just worrysome, is all. No game stays perfect forever, the devs always make some dumb decision eventually (or many many smalls ones that just add up until the game suffocates to death), i just don't want this to be the thing that ruins the flavor of the game for me.
Guess we will just have to see. Hopefully the survey takers didn't all vote in favor of it.
@CashelP14 Gestures is what i am worried about most as well. The problem is if they let in pop culture charms, they have already opened the door for pop culture anything else. Then if they also add gestures (which is bad, im already getting tbagged enough) it would just be a matter of time before half the players are doing the gangnam style dance everytime they pallet stun you, lmao.
I understand the concern. I voted against lobby emotes partly for that reason. I still believe that the devs have enough integrity to not sell out to the masses completely, but all we can do for now is make it known through surveys like this one that we're not interested. At least they've given us the option to express our opinions before they do anything about it.
-
There should be. So far, there's been one in every realm, so there's no reason to believe that the pattern would have been broken here. It might be tough to find, though - it seems like they're intentionally making it more and more difficult with each new realm they release.

Maybe its just supposed to be short term, or maybe they dont want to return to survivors managing sweaty killers the old fashioned way.
That's a good point, actually. Perhaps they don't want to advertise the fact that they're disabled for fear of a rise in disconnection rates. There's still the possibility that it's just a widespread bug, though - I wonder if @MandyTalk or @Peanits might be able to shed some light on the issue.
-
Pineapple doesn't belong anywhere as far as I'm concerned.
... Please don't hurt me.

If we can have a Demogorgon, we can have a Xemomorph (although admittedly there are still players who question the Demogorgon's inclusion and don't think non-human characters fit in DBD; I'm on the fence about it, personally). And we've already got all manner of other strange locations for maps (laboratories, shrines, hospitals, deserts) so a space station doesn't seem far-fetched, plus there's already an existing precedent for themed Exit Gates. Unfortunately I don't know enough about the Alien series to make perk suggestions, but I do think that thematically, it's definitely workable within the DBD universe.
-
How high-res do you need? I found these online:
There's also these from the game files if you prefer different poses (although they're semi-transparent so not as clear):

Because their marketing team (every marketing team for competitive games nowadays) has wet dreams about being the next fortnite big hit for the kids, and twitch memes are the fastest way to do it.
Also @Fibijean, pop culture references are pop culture references. It might just start with a couple charms, but then before you know it, "Ninja" (or the dbd equivalent) will be one of the survivors, lol.
If they want interesting references in their games, they need only to focus on horror/slasher references, not pop culture in a horror based game.
I do get where you're coming from, but I'd like to think they'd be tasteful about it. The devs care about the atmosphere in DBD more than most players do - it is a big selling point, after all - so I don't think we're in any danger of having Fortnite dances or anything like that in the game. For what it's worth, I'm not that interested in meme charms myself, unless they're a reference to something DBD-related. Even then, though, it is a little immersion-breaking. But that's why they include these kinds of questions in player surveys, to gauge the community interest. If most or even a significant proportion of players don't want those kinds of charms in the game, I doubt they'll ever make it in.
-
There's no way for them to know what perks you have. The best they can do is guess - perhaps they've come up against you in a previous match and remembered your build, but they can't know for sure from the start of the match. It's almost certainly just a coincidence. Confirmation bias (the idea that people naturally tend to remember facts or events more strongly if they support something the person already believes) might also play a part.
-
That question was specifically about charms, not emotes or cosmetics. If you're going to paraphrase, paraphrase accurately. I'm sure it wasn't your intention, but spreading incorrect information like that can have some harmful side effects. It's fine if you're opposed to the idea of pop culture-based charms, but there's no need to get up-in-arms about something that wasn't there.
-
@OP Freddy was nerfed almost immediately after his release based on "community feedback", and as a result became a community-wide joke for the next year and a half. The devs are (in my opinion, rightfully) trying not to make that mistake again.
The community don't always know what they're talking about, especially when they've only been playing a killer for a week at most. Deathslinger may end up needing a buff, but we'll all be in a much better position to judge that if we wait a few more weeks.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Okay so please tell me. The commodious toolbox was nerfed from having 180 charges to 32. This is a decrease by 148 charges. That is 148 more seconds you cannot use it on a gen. How is this a buff?
There are less charges, but repairing is quicker. The amount of time it saves overall is actually much less now, but there are some people who can't see past "faster repair speed" and assume it's a buff on that basis.

When you're rarely able to execute it though, it's more trouble than it's worth and you'd be better off with green or ebony. Dude yellow mori is like an oxymoron, is basically useless and not scary whatsoever, especially with the Endgame Collapse, and...essentially is useless for killers.
That's not what oxymoron means, but aside from that, as FireHazard said, it's not supposed to be good. It's more common and cheaper than Ivory or Ebony, which is the advantage, and it's just supposed to be an option if you want to try to use it. Not every mechanic that isn't powerful needs to be buffed.
-
The second hook phase should exist, but the struggle mechanic I could do without.

maybe its happening to PS4 then too or something else is going on.
Maybe. People shouldn't be able to disconnect on PS4 without a penalty. I would encourage them to report it, if I were you.
-
Only on Xbox. The penalties themselves weren't disabled, but the dedicated servers as a whole (on which the penalties rely to function) were disabled due to a serious bug that as far as I'm aware is still in the process of being resolved.
-
Six metres is what Hangman's Trick should have been from the start. It's supposed to give you warning if survivors are hanging around the hook ready to sabo or bodyblock, not tell you where everyone else is while you're carrying someone. A six metre radius is plenty for that.
-
I had trouble choosing as well, most of them seem really cool. It's really exciting to me that they're brainstorming all these great ideas behind the scenes of things they can do to make the Archives better, things we never would have realised they were thinking about if they hadn't been featured in the survey. It makes me think they're probably doing something similar with a lot of other aspects of the game as well.

I can think of a few reasons why not, but these kind of discussions tend to get very toxic very quickly, so I'd rather not get into it. I was just genuinely curious as to why you wanted it to happen.

Okay, we can drop the act that this game is new player friendly.
Maybe if DbD offered a more in-depth tutorial there wouldn't be an issue with new players. But who are we going to cater to? The guys who know what they're doing or the players who are new?
Survivors should have to learn and adapt, not be literally told what they're up against, especially since the Killer has no such thing until the perk already has done its job, like Decisive Strike or Head On.
I didn't say the game was new player friendly, or that that's why the notification was there. I said it was particularly helpful for new players. And arguing that we shouldn't help try to new players because there's a steep learning curve anyway makes no sense whatsoever.
-
Why, though?

@ManfredTheCrab said:
yeah but when there is already a pallet between killer and me... i don't get it.
That's latency, not hitboxes. It's all explained in the stream that @Marcavecunc kindly linked for you.
@stvnhthr said:
It is annoying, all killers can hit a distance greater than the pallet length. Also pallets will push the killer to safety if they are under it, and sometimes the pallet will switch you from the side you dropped it on to the other side so you are right next to the killer. For a game with so much lag problems it is kind of silly how small the window is to use something safely. You can't use it based off of what you see on the screen, because the visuals and game play are like half a second off.
I wish I understood what the Devs are going for. I feel like they have an idea of what they want gameplay to be like but it doesn't line up with what players want. To me it seems like they want to make it a game which favors the killer so they have more people hosting games (the killers' machine hosts the game.) So they listen to the complaints of killer mains who say the game is survivor heavy.
If you want to understand what the devs are going for with things like hitboxes and latency, watch the stream linked above. The short answer is, they're trying to create the best possible experience for everyone, which includes minimising latency as much as possible. Hit detection has to be killer-sided, because it feels worse for the killer to miss a hit they should have got than it does for the survivor to get hit from further away, but they're not satisfied with the fact that the latter is possible either, which is why they're working to minimise the effect of latency on both sides.
-
It is. Mori spamming is apparently bannable under "griefing". I, like many others, thought that it was no longer bannable since it isn't holding the game hostage, but Luzi (who is an official representative of BHVR) corrected me the other day.
-
@skramzila said:
Okay thanks @FireHazard & @Fibijean I only just noticed that this option disappeared on PS4. I wish there was a way to get this back, its nice to see who you are playing with.
I agree, I enjoyed having that option previously as well (it disappeared on PC too with the introduction of the dedicated servers). You could always post about it in the Feedback section (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/suggestions), maybe it's something the devs will consider taking on board.
-
On-topic, I think the simplest answer is to make more perks which incentivise leaving the hook. Things like BBQ, Make Your Choice, Devour Hope, etc. It may not be enough, but I think it's a solid start.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/136097/how-do-we-fix-tunneling
Thats not tunneling. People don’t seem to understand what tunneling is. Did you go out of your way NOT to hit the other survivors? Ignoring them and gens just to down the one off the hook? If not, then you didn’t tunnel.
Debatable. Personally, I would call what you're describing "hard tunnelling". But it's actually completely beside the point. OP is trying to brainstorm ways to make situations like the one he described, which is strategically advantageous for the killer but really not fun for the survivor, feel less necessary for the killer and therefore less common overall. Since they made it clear what they were talking about, whether you want to describe that as "tunnelling" or not is irrelevant.
-
My first impression from playing as Deathslinger is that he would be good, if I were good at playing him. In other words, I felt like there was potential there. I certainly don't think he's top-tier, probably closer to mid (like maybe roughly on a level with Pig) but I don't think he's the pile of garbage that a lot of people are claiming. I strongly suspect that the main reason so many people think he's really bad, killers and survivors alike, is because the killers haven't figured out how to play him to his full potential yet.
-
@skramzila said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1153183#Comment_1153183
That is a bummer. So there is no way to see who the killer is until the end of the match then?
Not that I know of, no.
-
You can pull backwards to make it harder for him to pull you in, although that won't break the chain itself. The only way to do that is to move to one side so that there is an obstacle in the way (an object or another survivor) which will cause the chain to break much more quickly. However, when the chain breaks, you will still be inflicted with Deep Wound.
-

I believe the servers went live on PS4 a couple of months ago. And yes, that is a feature of the dedicated servers that you can no longer see who you're playing with unless they're your friend, because their information is no longer sent directly to you but to the server.
-
Cypress Moris are supposed to be weak, they're only uncommon rarity. Their main purpose is to help you out with any "kill by your hand" challenges or dailies you may have without costing you a lot to bring, because as you observed, mori-ing the last survivor is practically the same as hooking them.
