My God I think you're the first person to ever say I am killer biased, not survivor biased. It happened.

You're a killer main and have said repeatedly in videos that you don't play survivor much. Hell, your survivor gameplay is all meme stuff like the MoM quest.

You're a huntress main. I saw your video complaining about how losing ruin will make you try now. I'm sorry but if you never had to try to 4k, I have no sympathy for you having to actually play the game. The way you talked about having to play dirty now definitely cost you my respect. Though maining huntress on dedicated servers is a little suspect, since you throw car-sized hatchets that hit people around corners and through objects. I respected the long range shots at least.

Anyone saying you have a survivor bias has clearly never seen you play.

Now you shift your narrative from "just dont tunnel" to "just ignore the guy whatever happens", but ok

The guy with DS can do gens non stop for 60 seconds, do you think Killer can afford to ignore that? Sluggingbis not always an option, and as I said, at this point you have always assume Unbreakable.

No one here has a problem with remembering who was unhooked, the tragedy here is that you know he is genrushing you but you cant do anything about it.

Because he can get up... Once per game? I already said I'm cool with a nerf that it turns off when touching a gen, hex totem, or unhooking as those are directly in the survivors control and make him a target.

The point is to give them a chance to recover and try to do something. If they work on a gen or unhook in your face, absolutely they should lose the immunity. Hell, I'd be okay with DS granting literal immunity until one of those conditions are met or 60 seconds elapse.

Survivors whine just as much if not more than killers from what I’ve seen. I can’t even get 1k half the time without someone crying about something and it’s almost always just poor sportsmanship. As a survivor killers rarely message me and when they do it’s almost always gg

It's a pvp game. You are going to get salt and trash talk if communication is possible. I can't count the number of times back in the day in WoW that I've had people log over to my faction to hurl insults after they lost a fight. That kind of thing doesn't happen on steam if you close the chat window and decline friend requests. That's typical salt.

What do you see on the forums? A killer circle jerk of complaints about DS and BT, two completely avoidable perks, and gen times by the top 0.01% of survivors stacking every possible advantage in order to pump out gens asap.

There is the occasional complaint about a killer that is usually buried in seconds with whiny killers pretending they don't want to have easy 4ks every game.

I only used MK as an example: it applies to pretty much any game that is pvp. It doesn’t make sense that DBD should, in your view, be the only game not balanced around skilled players.

Pretty sure I never made the claim that it is or should be the "only" game not balanced around the max potential. I am merely pointing out that the "max potential" does not effect the average game. Most people aren't running toolboxes, BNP's or not. Most aren't running prove thyself. Most can't run a killer more than 10-20 seconds.

If you balance around those that can run a killer all game, the average player WILL QUIT out of frustration. I have two.. no wait, four that have. My spouse can't get past rank 16, and as a result, doesn't play much.

This game has problems. Severe problems. Gen times are not one of them. The super powerful, outlier abilities and severe amount of RNG are.

You need to fix matchmaking first and foremost so that those that can stop killing those that can't. Then every rank needs balance in not just the Masters. If you don't, the game will die.

Just because someone is a streamer or something, doesn't mean that they are godly and will win every match. The game has it's flaws. Streamer or not, they still are a brain against 4.

Losing one gen isn't a bad thing, but it ends up to be a bad thing. I think that post is more of sucking a streamer off.

He's actually a streamer I stopped watching because of his immense killer bias. I'm not a fan. If you watch his videos, the game is a joke to him. Cake walk. And he still complains, just like Tru3, about how an already powerful or overpowered killer should get buffs.

I don't care what the top 0.01% of survivors could theoretically do. The fact is, most games are a slaughter on behalf of the killer. Scott's opinion is null and void to me because he's good enough that any complaint comes off as whining about wanting to 4k without trying every game.

Please stop pretending that not tunneling prevents usage of DS.

In 60s Killer can down and hook even 3 other surviviors and then find the guy with DS, and in 60s survivior with DS can get fully healed, finish a 50% gen alone and then get caught in a Bear Trap...

Tunneling or not has nothing to do with DS, it gives you 60 seconds of unconditional immunity to being picked up. Paired with Unbreakable it turns into complete immunity for 60s

I never get hit with DS. What're you doing wrong? Did you forget that you already hooked that guy just a moment ago? Then you deserve the stun. Learn to count. Count out the timer if the game is going *SO WELL* that you just dropped the whole team in less than a minute.

If you pick up the DS then to hook, you deserve it and you'll get no sympathy from me. If he's in a locker and you already have the entire team hooked... Just wait it out.

If you'd like to lose a scenario where you get DS'd, I'll happily tell you how to play better an not get hit by it. The perk is only a problem for those who make it one.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1075972#Comment_1075972

This is a false argument that people always echo. Pretty much any game you can think of is balanced around the top players. Fighting games like Mortal Kombat stick to this philosophy (and far outsell DBD) and casuals like the game just fine. Balancing around top players in this game would mean things like nerfing DS and dead hard, which would only affect people who are good at the game. Mr rank 15 that plays with his friends is not going to die more because some perks are nerfed; they are going to die most of the time regardless.

This is not those games. This is an asymmetrical, casual game. There are no tournaments. There are no professionals. The game is inherently imbalanced by design.

The entire design should be towards making the game as fun and enjoyable for both sides as much as possible. There are some outlier things that, when stacked, can allow survivors to pump gens out rapidly. Fix those and then we can start working to take away the things that make the game unfun.

If we remove the reason DS exists, we can get rid of DS. Make it so that camping a hook or tunneling off the hook is severely punished. Remove the hook timer. If a killer camps now, he will 100% lose the game for that one kill.

Remove NOED. It is a poorly designed perk that rewards trash killers with a free kill or two in the endgame. It's unhealthy for the game.

There are plenty of tweaks that can be done to remove those outlying, problematic abilities. Notice how no one complains about Devour Hope or Cypress Moris? Cypress should be baseline. I'd go so far as to make ebony baseline but make it only usable if you're dead on hook. So on and so on.

However, it's all based on balancing to make a fun, relaxed party game and not pretending this is League of Legends or StarCraft.

I never actually said I get DS'd. Putting words in my mouth now? :)

What I will say though, is I have been DS'd a few times here and there, and when it happens, I've usually already hooked 1-2 other people and come across that person again. So, how is this anti tunnel? How is this "guarding the hook"? Look up in the sky - see that thing floating away in the distance? That's your entire argument.

Polly want a cracker? You just keep saying the same thing mindlessly. One minute off the hook is a short time. Learn to count and remember who was hooked.

  • @TheMidnightRidr said:

I personally don’t feel it should. Survivors have complete immunity when jumping in a locker of it’s activated. Sure, a killer could wait it out and grab them, but that’s a huge waste of time.

But what do you guys think?

If if doesn't work in lockers, you just tunnel and slug them. The perk is designed to tell you to LEAVE THEM ALONE for a minute after they get unhooked, not just find a new method to tunnel them.

If you want to make a case for it turning off for working on a gen, hex totem, or unhook, I can get behind that. They are actively choosing to make themselves a target then. But hiding in a locker to avoid the slug or healing should absolutely be protected still.

I don't think I'm illiterate. I managed to read the part where you said DS and guarding the hook are somehow related. Even though they aren't and have never been. You can gloss over it now and dodge like your life depends on it, like you're currently doing. What you originally said in response was to "Stop.Guarding.The Hook. Period". There was no "main reason" given in your original comment; and even still, your experience is not the same as everyone else's experience. Take a knee, bud.

    :)

I don't get DS'd. You do. I think we know who knows what they're doing and who's just playing semantics now and thinking they're cute. It'd be funny if it wasn't pathetic.

Continue to harp on that one point though like a brainless parrot. And continue to be DS'd from playing as badly as one.

  • @McLightning said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1075977#Comment_1075977

Really? So I have to stay near the hook for DS to work?

    *Totally has relation*.

Are you illiterate? I said it's the "main reason" for DS to get activated. Not the sole one. But please, keep standing on that hill if you want to die there. That's fine.

If you get hit by DS, you ######### up. Period. It's entirely within your power to avoid. You forgot who you hooked and how long ago or you tunneled them like most skilless killers. Every DS to you should literally slap you in the face. Maybe then you'd learn to play around it like someone with a brain.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

With matchmaking right now, the entire game is broken. Nothing can be balanced properly until matchmaking is fixed.

They even say here https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/124795/status-update-matchmaking-changes what many players have been saying for a long time:

"we’ve concluded that rank does not directly correlate to skill"

So even when matchmaking was working better, ranking wasn't. That makes most of the stats meaningless, because a match will be unbalanced from the start if players of unequal skill are going up against one another.

Which is a fair point and typically works in the killer's favor. Since out of the four survivors, you only need one or two to be bad for the game to go to crap.

  • @McLightning said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1075962#Comment_1075962

    You did say it though.

    "Stop. Guarding. The. Hook. Period."

(guarding the hook still has no relation to DS btw)

And yet, it does. That's the only way BT ever activates and the main reason why someone gets DS'd.

If you never play survivor, you don't notice how the overwhelming majority of killers either camp the hook directly, or only go far enough away that they can return immediately(nurses, spirits, huntress, Billy, hag, etc).

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1075728#Comment_1075728

You say that as if I have a hidden agenda. The game should be balanced around the best players, not potatos. Also, SWF is not the only problem: competent solos also show the imbalance.

You balance exclusively around the absolute highest potential, then that's all you have and your game dies.

I have multiple friends that refuse to play this game anymore because of all the cheap tactics available to killers. Instadowns, moris, camping, tunneling, etc.

They never even got the chance to put in the time to 'git gud' because they were so frustrated so many days in a row that they stopped playing. No DLC money, no cosmetics, no revenue, no game.

This game cannot be exclusively balanced around the cream of the crop. Note: exclusively. Toolboxes need to not affect gen times. Prove thyself could stand a complete rework. You can tweak the outlying problems without ruining the games for the average player.

But those changes can't be made in a vacuum. You have to remove some of the broken behaviors and items that make the game unbearable or you won't have a game.

Ruin was extremely obnoxious at worst, a mild annoyance at best. The game is healthier without it. Now we need to tweak NOED, camping, tunneling, oneshot add-ons, moris, etc. Or this game will never retain anyone.

  • @McLightning said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1075944#Comment_1075944

I must be guarding the hook. That must be it. Cause DS and guarding the hook are totally related.

    lol

I didn't say you were. I asked what are you doing wrong? Did you forget who you hooked and try to pull them out of a locker later?

If they run at you to try and force the DS, slug them and move on. That's their own stupid fault. However, you shouldn't have to worry about the perk in the overwhelming majority of games.

Don't blame the perk because you made a mistake. I find head-on infinitely more annoying.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1075901#Comment_1075901

Except someone would find THAT annoying. Ultimately, theres someone out there for each killer that HATES facing that particular killer. You see threads on here from time to time asking "Which killer do you hate going against", to which pretty much every killer in the game is listed off. This doesnt mean those killers should be changed, just that people have their own opinions on things.

Pretty sure most don't risk giving someone an epileptic seizure though. Those flashes might.

  • It does use up Sprint burst and you definitely do move faster than if either one was active alone. I don't think they stack additively though.

You can't save the Sprint burst either, as it triggers the second you hit shift and move, so if you tried to save it, you'd be walking at 150% speed from the hit, which wouldn't help much.

Imagine needing to insult someone because your argument is paper thin. Be civil, my dude.

I never get DS'd. What're you doing wrong?

I love this. Complain about a perk that is 100% in your power to avoid. Get tips on how to avoid it. Then whine at the people telling you how to avoid it.

DS and BT are completely wasted perks against me in every game I play as killer. Neither one of them ever goes off. If they're going off on you, you need to see what you're doing wrong. Not me. Not the survivor. YOU.

  • @Mc_Harty said:

Right because It's unreasonable for survivors to potentially finish 5 gens in under 4 mins.

Sorry I forget who i was dealing with.

Just as unreasonable for a killer to get all 4 down and hooked in less than two minutes. Sometimes the game goes fast. Whether you messed up, got outplayed, or crushed your opposition, sometimes the game ends rapidly. If you have that problem every game, the fault is *YOU*, because it doesn't happen to everyone.

  • @McLightning said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1075890#Comment_1075890

Except, DS hardly ever comes into play as "anti tunnel". If you played killer, you'd know this.

It's usually used as temporary invulnerability to go for a save you otherwise wouldn't be able to get, or to take protection hits knowing you can't be hooked. Most of the time, when someone has DS, they throw themselves at the killer. That's not tunneling.

Apparently you didn't read, because both the OP and myself said we play killer and never get DS'd.

    Stop. Guarding. The. Hook. Period.

If you hook and move on, it doesn't matter if they come and save with DS. You're already on to the next survivor. They get a chance to heal and do something, you get more pressure by pushing another survivor off a gen. Win. Win. Win all around.

You all only have a problem with the perk because you play terribly and need to guard the hook for an easy down. Go get another survivor. There are four of them. The ones unhooking are not on gens. Don't ignore the ones in gens and then complain about gen rush and being DS'd by a perk specifically designed to stop your bad behavior. Just stop it. Play better. Don't get DS'd.

YES BECAUSE THE DEVS SAID TO NOT TRUST THEM.

Why am I the only one that understands this?!

You can't draw conclusions from your own game, to claim one side is OP when you ignore the context behind them. We know the matchmaking is ######### and ranking up is too easy so why should we trust high rank game play anymore since any potato can ruin the statistics?

But survivors should be nerfed without anything to back up that statement other than a handful of killers that still get more kills than escapes but whine loudly. Okay.

You're spot on of why killers think DS and BT are op, because all they know is tunneling. I've played so much killer, and the only time I do get DSed is when I just want to eat it. If killers didn't tunnel, maybe their kill rate would go up???? Just a thought.

It's just so simple: don't go back to the hook. That's two people running and not working on a gen. Go get someone working on a gen. It's the reason BBQ, discordance, etc exist... To give you an indication of where to go next.

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

Oh I agree on the points about the skillcheck placements and flashing. It's unneeded in my opinion, or at least have an option for the flashing since it feels like it's the only thing in the game like that, and people who are sensitive to that sort of thing can find it dangerous. The counter-clockwise skillchecks I don't mind. They add a challenge of unknown to him.

I find it less challenging and more annoying. The game needs less RNG, not more. If it made the skillchecks smaller, now that adds challenge instead of merely randomly maybe being annoying sometimes.

Did you ever play killer before the matchmaking changes? At all?

Because I refuse to believe someone with dozens of hours not understanding you can't draw conclusions from your own matches to determine whats balanced.

Yes, I have. I use the same name on steam, you can feel free to look up my achievements for rank 1 on both killer and survivor. They are both more than a year old and I started playing in October 2018.

So... You're saying my experience is irrelevant. The hard, proven facts of the released statistics showing that more people die than live is irrelevant. So... What? Are you the sole arbiter of truth then? Is your subjective interpretation of reality the only real one? Or just the ones that happen to agree with you because they're biased killers that just want to 4k every game?

You reject reality and substitute your own. Talking to you is pointless then. Good day, sir.

Scott... I've seen enough of your videos to know that 99 times out of 100, you're going to 4k and 4k with ease. You screw around with 360 hatchet tosses because the game is such a joke for you.

You know you can run CI and still 4k without any gens done. The devs themselves said to expect to lose two gens in the first 4 minutes.

Losing one gen is not the end of the game. Sure it doesn't look as good on YouTube as the 5-gen/4k does, but it's far from game over. I'd be shocked to see you upload a video where all four escape against you where you actually tried. I don't believe it happens ever.

  • @whammigobambam said:

The killers have more tools but it's the survivors who act out more in order to unnerve the killer. Fast action notification survivors literally make me want to vomit with disgust. You are triggered very easily and clearly don't play survivor much. The OP is spot on. Many killers go into a game purely with the intention of ruining other people's day.

The number of teabagging or flashlight clicking survivors I run into as killer are minimal. The number of camping, tunneling, torturing killers though? Pretty much every other game. It's the entire reason perks like BT and DS are so prevalent and powerful. Because killers make them so.

The devs said to not make any arguments on these stats.

That's not a fact but a biased observation from your perspective. Know what a fact is? Matchmaking takes far longer for survivor than it does for killer.

However I'm not the one delusional enough to draw conclusions from it.

That's entirely because of swf matchmaking changes. Go queue as a rank 20 killer and see how fast you get a game. Because every single swf is now paired based on the highest rank, all the redranked killers are being gobbled up.

Combine that with a bunch of terrible killers that never learned to play without ruin and jumped ship for what they believe is the "easier" side... Pretty obvious why queue times are the way they are.

I put in over a dozen of hours a week. Survivors die more than they escape. From both my killer and survivor perspective and experience as rank 2 survivor and 4 killer currently.

And there it is. He's annoying, just like Ruin was annoying. Well folks, we're defintly in for a Legion type nerf to Doctor because he's annoying to play against!

Honestly, they didn't fix what was annoying. Annoying whispers growling in your ears constantly, the shocks flashing randomly, the random skillcheck placement... It's all annoying as hell.

Playing against him is no better or worse than before. Possibly worse thanks to yet another random mechanic in that reverse skillcheck that happens from time to time with a certain add-on.

Playing as him, however definitely feels better. His abilities are both easier to use and require better timing. I find him more fun to play as, but now I run calm spirit every game thanks to him and the popularity of infectious fright.

I was red ranked before the change, definitely needs to be looked at. I'm looking forward to the MMR system they're planning to implement. Hopefully it will bring about more fair games for everyone.

  • @Mc_Harty said:

How delusional do you all have to be to promote stats that the devs themselves told you lot too ignore.

No wonder this game has turned to #########...

They did not say to ignore them. They said they aren't perfect. There are numerous factors that go into them. However, you still cannot deny that even if you ignore games with DC's, killers get more kills than they don't. Regardless of reasoning, that is a fact. Even with matchmaking as FUBAR as it's been for like half a year, it's a fact. Period.

That's a damning indictment on the state of the game. If you add DC's in, it gets significantly worse for survivors. Killers are the winners. Period. The discussion needs to be on how to fix that... We'll have to wait and see how the ruin nerf has affected it.

  • OP is spot on. The whining killers just want to complain when they actually got outplayed for once. They had it so easy for so long that they are crushed by the weight of their own inadequacy and don't want to take the time to learn how to deal with it.

I shouldn't have to cater to the other side in order to have fun. That's still a problem with the game design. And that's the game developer's problem -- not mine.

I typically have to do 2~3 generators too. Matches are still over for me in an average span of 7 minutes. That's when gates open by the way, not specifically how long it takes gens to be done.

These aren't "elite death squad survivors". Just survivors who know how to hold M1 and survivors that are better than most of the killers who tend to only be green to beige ranks because that's how matchmaking unfortunately works right now. You don't need to be amazing to bully a newbie killer. You only need to be good/decent, depending on the map.

Devs are aiming for a 2-2 average. That doesn't mean that getting 3~4 escapes or 3~4 kills are supposed to be impossible. Personally, I think a 2-2 average is stupid to aim for, because the game has far too many variables to account for. Is this a 2-2 average without killer add-ons? With the most powerful add-ons? What about the maps, what about the tiles that spawn in those maps? What if the survivors bring powerful add-ons? I could keep going on. I especially think it's dumb, because survivors like to dick around and not play very seriously a lot of the time, dying practically intentionally for stupid reasons, if just to meme around.

And you definitely shouldn't balance around DCs.

Also, I am assuming you are basing these percentages based on these statistics:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/557/M27A9IC68M1C.png

Which BHVR has already stated, isn't completely accurate, doesn't tell the full story, and are only for entertainment purposes anyway. Unless you feel like explaining why Nurse is apparently the weakest killer in the game.

And we know they're inaccurate because getting statistics the same source (BHVR) at a slightly older time period, we get a completely polarizing chart for survivor escape rates:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/107/G3KS3V12BE9S.png

Context on how the information is gathered is important. Thus, the stats don't tell the whole story.

I already mentioned that generators are only the symptom of a problem. I never said it's the only problem. I don't know why you're mentioning this other stuff that's already being slated to be nerfed anyway.

You definitely don't need 3k hours to avoid moris, iri heads, pinky fingers, or whatever else, by the way. All of these add-ons and moris do is make survivor mistakes more punishing. If you needed 3k hours of experience well, I guess I am the best survivor, then, because I've escaped matches with killers running some of these things, before.

Again, not saying they're balanced, but you're still trying to make this a "killer versus survivor" thing, and that's simply just a strawman from the real issue. Considering a lot of killers are running this stuff and plenty of survivors are still escaping in under ten minutes however despite not even running tool boxes and things should show just how much variance is in the game.

Then your problem is matchmaking, not gen times. Sorry you face trash killers with not trash survivors.

I will have a similar situation. I'll see at the end it was 4 red ranked survivors vs a green killer. Difference is, that green just slaughtered the other three survivors like the braindead potatoes they are. I don't get good survivors on my team 9 times out of 10. They play just as badly or worse than the green ranked killer. Half the time, I die with them because EGC essentially hands the kill to the killer.

This is from a killer main: the new doctor is a slap in the face to Clown, freddy, hag etc

He can spam shock therapy to block pallets with zero consequences, it isn't fair, he should have 5 shocks available and then the need to reload.

He is a better Clown with also tracking and plenty of slowdown.

He should have max 5 shocks and a three seconds reload to top them up.

It uh.. already has a cooldown. 2.5 seconds before you can do anything after using it.

That already happens. Unhooking someone they do end up at the next hooking state when they are hooked again. But it's true, if you are looping the killer then he no longer has the advantage as you can easily loop a killer for the rest of the gens. When you max chase, you receive a black pip anyways, and anything more to that point you essentially already won.

No, you misread. I said they *just* go into the next state. No unhook, it just puts them into struggle, the next kills them. They don't get off the hook, they just progress towards death.

It's an absurd statement to counter the absurdity of the quoted statement.

The game is not entirely the chase. If all I do all game is run from the killer until the gate opens, even if I escape, that's an insanely unfun game for me. This is why I go out of my way to try and lose the killer. I want to do other things. Honestly, I enjoy games where the killer never even sees me more than anything.

Slugging is also considered a skillful tactic used by Killer - another survivor can easily come over and recover a slugged survivor, also there are perks you can take to make slugging more bearable (Tenacity & Unbreakable).

Don't forget, you are not supposed to be the power role as survivor, you are supposed to be vs a stronger power than you.

..and they are. What can a survivor do to a killer? Flee. Surprise them with a stun or blind for a chance to... Flee. This isn't Last Year where you can straight up kill the killer. They can't hurt you. They are your prey. Just like real hunting, if you don't do it right, the prey gets away.

What most killers on this forum ask for is to not be hunting out in the wild, they want to shoot fish in a barrel. No one wanting challenge in the hunt runs huntress and slaps on iri heads, an infantry belt, and an ebony mori. Or really... Any of the iridescent stuff.

All the power is on the killer. If killer makes mistakes, survivors have a chance to escape. If a survivor makes a mistake in a chase, he's either dead or hooked waiting to be, especially considering the sheer number of camping and tunneling killers out there.

Make no mistake, the game is designed for the killer to torment the four survivors and kill them. Everything from statistics to in-game experience shows this to be true.

The statistics are misleading because they factor in all survivors- most survivors are potatos who don’t know how to play. The killer only feels the imbalance against a competent team.

So you admit that in the overwhelming majority of games, the killer dominates and those "elite death squads" that pound out gens in a couple minutes are a severe outlier.

I wonder why the devs don't take these killer complaints about gen times seriously? Probably because they know you're full of it and are working to exclusively tweak the outlier problems like stacking toolboxes.

Spoken like someone who has no real knowledge of the game or the Nurse.

Thank you for providing such a poignant and enlightening response with all of that non-existent evidence. At least I provided examples. Sure sounds like you're the one talking out of your rectum.

I hope you realize I haven't played killer in probably about 3 months. I don't know why you're talking to me like I've been playing killer lately and wanting to play with my food, when I'm talking about I find the game boring as a survivor perspective because games go too fast, too easy.

Yes, being chased by the killer is fun. Which is why it's incredibly unfortunate where I can have matches where I get chased only once, or sometimes not even get chased at all.

You find killer easier to play because it's all on you. Meanwhile, I find that stressful, because one mistake I make as a killer (like accidentally following scratch marks in the wrong direction which is not uncommon due to how inaccurate they are) can literally be just the one mistake that can cost you the game as a killer because generators fly so fast or because the map design allows for chases to be incredibly long and losing a survivor for just a couple of seconds can be a chase that quite literally costs you minutes of momentum.

Yet as survivor, I don't need to rely on just my skill. I can fail a couple of chases and still get out just fine as if I never went down at all. Sometimes I can go down more than twice, simply because DS exists and killers cannot afford to eat it due to how fast generators get pressured. Sometimes I literally can escape without even doing my objective, but just because everyone else sucked and hatch spawned pretty close to me. Then even if I make a mistake in a loop, if I decide to run Dead Hard -- just press a button to make it to a window or pallet when I would have gotten hit. Mistake fixed. Not so easy to do that as a Killer. Yet if I were to make a mistake like that as killer, well, I'm probably stuck doing that chase for probably another 30~60 seconds at minimum, if the survivor is actually good, or I'd have to abandon it entirely and quite honestly, the biggest boon for why I find survivor more easier, is that as a survivor, I set the pace of the game the majority of the time. Killer doesn't get that choice unless they are absolutely dominating the match.

Like fun, it's subjective. A more confident person probably finds killer easier. A more conscious person like myself probably finds survivor easier. I try to play both equally, but that doesn't change that I find killer more frustration personally, and certainly more frustrating in the game's current state, and certainly more frustrating if I was a newer player, playing killer, going up against red ranks a majority of the time, who's apparently expected to play perfectly and if they make one or two mistakes the game is over before they can blink.

If you want to be chased, put on object and go get the killer's attention. The gen rush is entirely in your hands to avoid. Don't bang out gens and then complain it's over already. It's your fault!

I typically have to do at least 2-3 gens by myself when I play survivor, so I never see these insane gen rushes you talk about. Especially since they only 'chases' are typically mine. I'll hear teammates go down one by one less than a minute apart. I don't know how you magically get exclusively good survivors but I sure as hell don't.

Gens get done maybe one in four games. If that. Considering the devs want a 2 kill, 2 escape ratio, they should be getting done in nearly every game with the 4 escape trounces being balanced out with the number of 4 kill slaughters.

If you want longer games, gen times are not the only things that need to be looked at. Instadowns, moris, slowdown perks, and even tracking perks all need to be looked at so that survivors that aren't 3k+ hour players have a chance to not go down in two seconds or we will see >80% kill rates.

Don't forget that killers already kill more than they don't. If you added games with a DC in the mix that number skyrockets.

Just because you personally only ever get elite death squad survivors doesn't mean the rest of us do. If you're bored, go play something more challenging. I don't like having to look for hatch every game as it is, and if you make it any more difficult, the average survivor will have a 100% death rate as opposed to only 60%.

How is that reflected or accounted for especially since the statistics just check for kill and nothing else.

Nobody is a god, all are but people. Yes could be one reason but could also be that they overnerfed her. Both are valid reasons.

Go watch Tofu or Otz play a nurse game after nerf. It's a joke and they relentlessly mock the people that complain about her miniscule nerf. She's less played because she's straight up too easy to kill with to the point that it bores people. Once you learn her, you win. Period. There is no challenge. A good nurse makes all survivor skill irrelevant.

But you have to learn her. And most people don't want to be a punching bag for days or weeks as they put in the time to learn the timing on her blinks.

Except pallet and vaulting all other actions shpuld deny it even unhooking

That's absurd. You're basically saying they shouldn't have any chance to defend themselves before you just slug them and wait the DS out. Why don't we just make it so trying to unhook someone just advances them to the next state while we're at it?

  • @Nikotiini said:

In my opinion, Decisive Strike should stay in it's 40/50/60 seconds, BUT it should definitely deactivate when the killer has hooked an other survivor.

DS is meant to be an anti-tunnel perk, and the killer is most likely not trying to tunnel if they are going for other survivors.

Slug at unhooked, chase unhooker, hook them, go back and rehook the downed survivor. If you want to go that route, DS should be permanently ready if you're slugged, for as long as you're slugged.

Hell, you could slug the unhooker at the unhook, slug the farmed survivor, hook the idiot that farmed him, and then be free to go rehook the one on the ground.

No. That's far too easy to abuse. It's really simple. Just leave the person who got unhooked alone. Let them have a chance to actually play the game.

  • I read the title and came in here fully ready to start talking about how the perk does nothing if you don't tunnel...

This is fair. I see nothing wrong with this. Gives time to heal up safely. If you work on a gen knowing it breaks your safety and then the killer comes for you... Fair. I approve.

No no, you were the one manipulating not me. I assumed something because lots of people do this on these forums. Thing is we have a killer below 50% and others below 60%.

That's cause nurse is hard to learn. Master nurses are still gods while the mediocre ones just switched to Freddy or Spirit for easy 4k's.

  • I do totems I see anyway, and as killer I avoid anything to do with totems as they're extremely unreliable.

  • Survivor: Kate is by far my main, bit I have everything unlocked on Yui, Meg, and am working on Feng as I play each of them from time to time.

Killer: Legion used to be and I still play my Susie a lot, but I play Doc and Wraith as well.

  • Wut?

No, I'm not complaining about winning, because I'm complaining that the journey to the win was boring. Not that me achieving the win itself isn't gratifying enough.

The gameplay in DBD is stale and shallow, and it's only getting worse as they continue to cater to the new players and continue to make the killers less and less unique, slapping cooldowns and power bars to every single one of them makes killers feel more and more same-y.

I like winning. I'm sure a vast majority of us do. But if the win happens so fast that there's barely any gameplay inbetween match start to match end, what's the point?

Gen speeds are a symptom to a problem. I never said they are the problem.

Survivors will always be able to all be downed in under a minute. Thankfully, whether they can be downed in under a minute or not is completely up to them -- not the killer. Whether Survivors push out generators in under 3 minutes however may not be up to the killer. A killer may try as hard as they damn please, but a team of good survivors will still push out those generators in only a few minutes. Survivors will never all go down in under a minute if they try.

So again, fair for you to be able to win in seconds, not for them. Do you not see the problem here? No, of course you don't. You want to play with your food before you inevitably 4k.

So... I have a question for you. What do you think is the appeal of playing survivor? Do you think we enjoy just fleeing all game? Being smacked and stabbed and hooked and mori'd? Do you think the appeal is to just sit on a generator holding a mouse button?

For some toxic elements of the community, it's to try and give better than they get. To stun and taunt and blind the killer. Those people are human garbage and I'd love to see their playstyle eradicated from the game forever.

For me, it's the thrill of escaping the killer. To evade and sneak around them. I'm only in a rush to do gens because the people I get paired with drop like flies. If I do anything but work on gens, I will inevitably die to EGC unless I get lucky and the gates are far apart and the killer doesn't have some way to warn them I'm at a gate.. (like demo, trapper, whispers, etc).

Killer is always the easier role to play, because it's all on you and your skill. If the survivors have even one potato, you can punish them horribly. Sadly, most of them are. Most people are bad at games in general.

  • Wait for the movement changes they just tested. They were really responsive. Did not get a single hit through a pallet stun like those that happen in the live game all the time.
