I can sort of see where you're coming from. But if you get to tier 3 bloodlust it's your fault for not abandoning chase.
The issue that no bloodlust does expose however, is bad map balance. A large amount of people are reporting that some loops are highly unusable now. Just to list some, the house of pain, the asylum, the god bus, in autohaven, and apparently killer shack with a hook on the corner.
Killer shack needs to be changed regardless. The same damn thing on every ****ing map. Just add a moving breakable wall or something.

You really think viable buffs to weaker killers will happen because of this? I must say your optimism is amazing. Good on you
yeah right around the time they release that working ranking systems they've been working on but doesnt happen.

This glitch isn't common at all. I've never experienced it, and I've only seen three instances of it on video or in screenshots.
Survivors have the red stain, which can be disabled by perks, powers, and addons. Killers have bloodlust.
Stretched resolution exists for both sides and killers have perks to increase their FOV. Besides, with how the game plays, survivors being given a first-person POV would make many people nauseous. Giving killers a third-person POV would feel wonky on nearly every killer. Just imagine blinking as Nurse.
The height and cracks in loops are fine. If you raise loops, Huntress and Deathslinger get unintentionally nerfed; if you remove the cracks, Ghost Face, Myers, and Deathslinger get unintentionally nerfed. Fortunately, with the map reworks, many of the more powerful loops are being made weaker, such as shack.
If survivors didn't get a Sprint Burst (which is 2 seconds, not even 3), then they would go down instantly like in the old Hide or Die.
Many survivor mains who gloat about their skill normally get put in their place. I can't even tell you how many survivors have flashlight clicked me to go down in seconds and disconnect.
stretched resolution does not exist on console, which this video is from. and I wasnt even talking about stretched resolution, im talking about how survivors already have third person camera, then when they find walls where it shouldn't help, the red stain is put in on top of that so they dont have to take risks at all. meanwhile, people act like it's totally reasonable for the killer to have to look away from his objective and guess where it is so he can counter the absurd red stain mechanic.
and asking killers to use a perk slot to get a reasonable FOV is ridiculous. the ability to see below your chin should not a be a balancing mechanic. It reminds me of old games that had bad control as a balancing mechanic.

Just break the pallets! All 3 of them, that are right next to each other.
I definitely see double pallets like that every now and then, but it's like once every 200 games. The last time I saw one was at Coal Tower, pre-rework.
four actually. notice that the shack is next to this spot as well.

The killer couldn't touch him because of a glitch and because he wasn't good. He's rank 11. Someone like Otz would've ended that chase fast, since none of those pallets are particularly strong vs 115% killers.
funny how these "glitches" seem to be as common as always. and I like how the red stain lets survivors see around corners on top of their wider view to begin with, as well as low loops like this being see through for survivors to prevent any mind games, and survivors are rewarded for bein hit with a free sprint burst, and then the survivor mains show up to assure us they're just good.
EDIT also, if low ranking killers are regularly going to be sent against red rank survivors in 3/4 of their games, then the game has to be balanced for it.

We all saw the posts, the "I'm not playing Dead By Daylight This Weekend As A Killer Main", "Bloodlust is needed" etc etc. So I would like to pose some questions to those who have been experimenting with it...
- Was it really as bad as you thought?
- Is it a mechanic that you think could be changed now due to the state of the game?
- How would you change it?
- And finally, how was your week? :)
Worse. they've done nothing to shut down god loops with no counterplay, and removing bloodlust makes it even more obvious they need to dump the "free sprint burst as a reward for failing to avoid a hit" BS.

@DetailedDetriment said:
This is a glitch. It rarely happens, but when it does, it can spawn something insane like two pallets at a jungle gym.
Pallet spawns like this don't make a difference when you just camp every one though. lmao.
and yet the killer couldn't touch him. there's no counterplay for a killer here. Calling it a "glitch" doesn't change the reality of the in game experience.

Agreed, I quit last night, the game feels like a chore already and now they make it worse again.

everyone is saying "we need bloodlust in some maps" but the some maps they talking about havent got a rework yet.
just look at the mcmillian, autoheaven (PTB), ormond (PTB) etc these maps are now full with dead ends and unsafe pallets. there is not a single god loop in these maps.
even tho you know these maps are pretty bad and still want BL to never go away your just entitled sorry.
you want to keep BL even with the bad reworked maps.. well sure but then bring the old god loops back and give survivor again some good pallets.
but if you really dont want these loops then please stop being entitled to your opinion with the BL
i say it again " Yes some map tiles still need BL but these maps will get changed"
do you really need that much advantages in a chase to get a down on killer sided maps ? i hope not.
and if you do.. well maybe its time to get better.
I saw 3 pallets together in the "reworked" Badham the other day. You're wrong.

You are going ahead with releasing a chapter Incomplete!
still charging the full price and then finishing it after people have paid for it which can take god knows how long.
Yes you are addressing the issues with the killers which is great however doing a bad job at it, how you change how it will be is vague aswell.
Yes there is a pandemic but you could also consider the following:
Release it when it's done rather than giving us an incomplete product.
Some will say if you dont like it dont buy it ,however consider this, they are knowingly charging money for a product and saying they will finish it when one they need to fix a crap ton of stuff in the game as it is and still haven't fix those, we have to trust them that they will which judging how they have done in the past is not a wise choice.
Lol pandemic? They did the same things with Stranger Things chapter and covid didn't exist.
-
Seriously. God loops have gone nowhere, free escape perks increase, survivors get sprint burst as a reward for getting hit, pop goes the weasel is nerfed somehow, and now they want all killers to be slower during a literal Looney Tunes gag. I stopped playing for the weekend last night, and honestly, if they don't fix this, i think I'll just finish out the rift pass for my shards and end my time with this game.
I really haven't enjoyed it in a while, I'm at that point where it feels more like a chore than something I play for fun. Like how Animal Crossing games feel right before I stop playing for a year.

Demogorgon around close or thin loops, which are plentiful.

Good Killers know how to hide the red stain so, like, 🤷♀️
Killers shouldn't have too moonwalk to counter an unjustified mechanic. Also, good survivors can counter Bloodlust with pallets.
-
My motivation to play has been pretty low for a while. This made me realize i literally can't justify it. I think I'll finish Doom Eternal instead.

@Angelicus23 said:
today I had 5 matches where one survivor was AFK, a minute passes and the match gets cancelled for the rest of the players
Yeah that's pretty common lately. I've even gotten someone downed or hooked, then the game ends because someone else lost connection a minute earlier.

They aren't gonna say it but this is what they meant by console optimization. There's no point in getting the game ready for a console generation that's at the end of its lifespan. They were preparing for the next gen the entire time.
except that the game came out 4 years ago, with graphics comparable to games that were out roughly 8 years before that.
-
Oh God, is there no Freddy because they dont have the license for it like on Switch?
-
if you see him doing that a lot, you and your team are playing wrong. Don't group up against an AoE attack.

lots of people missing the joke in here.

Risky 😂
But maybe that is what DbD needs... make killer AI and finally we will have no more toxic behaviour between sides.
Lol the game will die after 3 months. Watch what happens with Phasmophobia.
-
It's decent, but I think it'll be a flash in the pan.
-
######### do the killers even have a bigger collision box for? the fix is obvious.
-
The general low quality graphics, increasing bugginess, and gamers switching to different systems with the next gen consoles could result in a perfect storm that causes it to die.
esecially when you considet that the "upgraded" macmillan Graphics, while a huge improvement over what we have, are not quite even current gen if we're honest with ourselves
-
Generous? They took away my frames.
-
Yes. Sometimes it ignores most points, sometimes not.
-
This is gonna be so fun when PS4 has a viable frame rate.
-
Get. On. The. Totems.
You start within ten feet of your non moving objective in every game. It's more than reasonable to ask to to do an optional secondary objective that also doesn't move.

It's called game design and inviciblity frames.
Been a thing on most good video games so far who isnt competitive.
It's unreasonable game design in this case.
-
One wonders why survivors are rewarded for being hit by being allowed to phase through solid matter.
-
Just gonna point out that it's implementation makes it impossible to get on console.
-
these stats dont really capture the experience of playing killer. you still have to sweat and stress far more than as a survivor. and this is likely including DCs, which have been an incredible epidemic with the ban having been dropped for so long.
-
Yeah I saw a problem with objective points for survivors too.
-
The simple reason they hate him is that he alters the exploits they're used to using against most other killers, and they simply do not want to change tactics. In fact, for many, doing so never occurs to them. So they keep playing in ways that work great against other killers, but not against him. It doesn't occur to them that maybe they shouldn't have gone for the low loop. Maybe they should have stayed away from certain areas before the chase began. Maybe they should have ignored the window, and so forth.
You see the same thing with Pyramid Head.
"theres no avoiding the hit once you're at the window/pallet! He beats DS/BT/unbreakable etc.!
"Ok, so you shouldn't have ran for the window/pallet. Don't rely so much on those 4 meta perks, use other skills and switch up your build with 1 or 2 others." and they just BS their way through this conversation, refusing to address the idea that they might consider new tactics, claiming it's unfair that new killer X can beat the narrow set of skills and approach to the game they've focused on.
It's also a problem with the fact that survivor play never changes. I mean, every killer is different, and must be played differently. It would be absurd for a Billy main to complain that Huntress is too slow, because obviously she shouldn't be played like Billy. Yet survivors expect every killer to work the same for them. Their gameplay style sort of breeds this narrow viewpoint on how the game should work.

Pretty much all of it.
One of them is basically “exposed” for the entire match and survivors cannot remove it or cannot do anything about it other than hope they can out-loop PH.
Well that one's clearly OP, but the others seem like good ideas. Except the Lost Memories. Book. Why make Cages work as hooks? That just makes him weaker.

It was quite literally the only spot on the map BL could be used at. Right now Shelter Woods is completely flat.
You can still use it at the stairs, it's just that doing so well is hard. Now, please note that Lery's turns several characters into M1 killer's.

damn... i really hope they have a hotfix soon :/
Narrator: "they wouldn't."
-
Can confirm, it's obvious on every level immediately on starting as both killer and survivor. Slightly improves after about 2 minutes in, but still broken, and reverts to unplayable once you get hit/start a chase.
-
I could support this if they finally fix the fact that survivors seem to lose their sound half the time even without iron will.
You know, the bug they claim they "fixed" like 2 months ago, and we all imeediately saw that they didnt fix it? In fact, it's become more and more common.
-
@FFabeq said:
They either nerf the crap outta meta perks or buff the weaker/shadowed ones. The first option is not good for the survivor side and experience the second might shake the meta a bit, but you would see killer mains complainin'.
they have to nerf the meta perks to begin with. simply buffing the others wont be enough unless they buff them to the point of being alternate second chance perks, which leaves us in the same state as now but with different icons.
-
frankly, it needs to just be deleted from the game. I really can't see a way to make it balanced. it's a free escape and killer stun as a reward for getting caught. just change the perk so it makes existing stuns last longer or something, then move on. as is, the whole game and meta is designed around it, and that's no good.
-
Yes. it's been obvious for quite some time that they don't understand their game, and the few who play are low rankking survivor players. it's clear from even they way they talk about the way they think the game is played.
-
lol people DC when they get their first down with 2 gens left, then come here to claim they were tunneled
-
nerfs Ruin and Pop
won't nerf Decisive
survivors claim killers are coddled
lol
-
The Observer is watching you through it with a glass of whiskey.
-
"walking to a gen is not skill"
Lol but it's skillful for a survivor to spawn within view of a gen and walk 10 feet to it, ok survivor main. No self awareness at all.

Every few games this happens and it's a total waste of my time. Down someone early? DC. Down a survivor while another is on a hook? DC.
Can we have some meaningful DC penalties please? I've played 5 games tonight and 3 of them had ragequitters in the first minute.
Downed early? Hell, I can give someone their first down with 2 gens to go and they'll DC. Moody little things. I've stopped using good BP offerings because of it. It's gotten worse than before the DC penalty existed, it's like they've taken the removal of punishment as permission.

As an addendum, I would add some chase or tracking-oriented perks, like Distressing or something, rather than Haunted Ground, since you'll want to teach the Survivors that touching the gens you are regressing is not a good idea, but letting it regress is the lesser of two evils.
Restraint and Iridescent Queen should be good. Restraint reveals their auras, and Queen makes them afraid to go near each other in case their friends zap them.
