No it isn't. They're just lying. they claim a "hidden" skill level will be recorded, but there's no reason for it to be hidden, especially from the player. They know they'll never fix ranked matchmaking as long as the game is absurdly unbalanced, and rather than balance it, they just design the game to please the new survivor masses, then lie about the matchmaking. as if hiding rank is going to make killers stay.
Note to devs: rank is secondary at best. the main issue for killers leaving is whether killers were enjoying the game to begin with, not whether the numbers next to usernames match afterwards.
-
killer main here, but also a rank 6 survivor cause i play with my partner sometimes. the only survivor matches where I die anymore are the ones where I was hunting chests or hooks for the rift instead of doing gens.
-
lol. BBQ and CHili is the best anti-camping and tunnelling perk there is, because it incentivices the killer to go hook someone else while also giving them a target to go after far away from the hook. It also gives them an incentive to chase after healthy survivors instead of the injured guy who's already been hooked when they find both together.
So go ahead, nerf it, and watch the game quality decrease for survivors more, just like how the deletion of Ruin has destroyed survivor queue times while increasing the number of Moris used.
-
yes. the death of ruin has worsened it a great deal. killers are leaving much faster than before, hence the steadily increasing queue times for survivors at all ranks.
-
haunted grounds is great, now that you can use static blast to make them scream on command right after it activates.
-
No need. My cousin facebooked me the other day. He told me he tried it, but waited 15 minutes for a game, and never got one. "well **** this game if it doesn't want me to play lol." Was his response.
So I explained the issue of the ruin nerf and how it's driven a vast number of killers away from the game, which worsened the already strained matchmaking, and so on.
So it occurs to me that their brilliant plan to make the game "less annoying" to new survivors probably isn't working.

No they aren't. Resident Evil Resistance is no longer going to be sold as a separate game. It's being included with Resident Evil 3 as the multiplayer mode. The beta must have not been popular enough for Capcom to change course.
So a crossover with DBD is still possible.
Coming free with a main series game will give it a much bigger install base than it would have gotten alone. I don't know if it will rival Dead by daylight or not, but its chances of doing so are much higher because of that.

More like they nerfed your crutch perk and now the game is unfun for you
If a person walked in to a doctor's office and said, "Doc, you have to help me. my legs hurt so bad I can only walk on crutches!" and the Doc solves the problem by removing the crutches, that Doctor is #########. And that's what the devs just did. and now this game is circling the drain. troll online all you want, but it wont make killers come back and fix the resulting problems.
-
Yeah sure. except that the number of killers leaving has made the rank disparity even worse. Which puts green and yellow rank killers up against red rank survivors anyway. which leads more killers to play something else, which increases the rank disparity more, leading more killers to leave, and so on.
And that's why survivor queue times are now regularly 10-15 minutes or more, for games that last around 5 minutes due to easy gen rush.

According to devs:
- 2K, 2 escapes is a draw game (and what they want)
- 3K and obviously 4K are a win
So, you had a game where you clearly won and you still complain ?
These crying baby killers ... .seriously ... !
back in reality, when 3 people D/C and one gets the hatch from it spawning under him, the killer loses a pip and gets virtually no BP. So no, the devs dont call that a win actually.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLAY SURVIVOR, KILLER MAINS. You need to get face camped to death repeatedly, it's "a legit strategy."
no one likes facecamping. problem is, when you play killer long enough, you realize that there are many times when it's the only viable strategy, especially when gens are getting done too fast and you've only gotten 1 hook due to a highly loopable map as a killer who cant counter it. especially when Ruin, the only viable gen slowing perk for those situations, goes down right away.
and now that Ruin will always be "down" right from the beginning, well...

Spider-man was so good. Never played Civ 6 but recommend RE2 and Days Gone.
I love RE2. I'm hoping Project REsistance is able to replace DbD since it's circling the drain now.

Killers on strike again soon?
they already are. just got a facebook message from my cousin, who's barely ever played the game. he said this: "Tryed to play dead by daylight sat 15 min waiting on a game and then said ######### this game lol I try to play it and it don’t want me to play it I guess"
I tried a few survivor games this past week as well, even though I'm a killer main. it was jsut because I was curious about whether this fiasco had affected wait time yet. the general trend was that I was able to get around 2 games for every hour and a half of attempting. I sat on the couch playing Civ while I waited.

So they've stated that they want to only balance around survivor fun and will screw over killer every chance they get? If not then you are just one of the many people who inflated this to the extremes.
Sure all of stuff recently been sucking for killers but by no means does it mean the devs are only in favor for survivors. Unless you got a quote or link to where i can find this definitive proof, i'mma think this way.
aside from the post in which they repeatedly state that the most important killer perk, Ruin, is being nerfed specifically for the fun of survivors, as well as the nerfs to Doc, check out this AMA the devs did on Reddit:
1,009 votes and 2,847 comments so far on Redditthe relevant statement from Peanits:
"As for balancing around SWF, this is also a bit tricky. If we were to balance solely around incredibly coordinated teams, we would be leaving solo players at a huge disadvantage. Our goal is to gradually bring solo players up to the same level of info as a pre-made group and then balance killers to match. This way everyone's on a level playing field."
so there it is. They openly admit they Know SWF is unbalanced against killers, but their plan instead of dealing with that directly is to continue buffing solo survivors to be at the unbalanced level that they admit SWF already is, THEN killers get balanced. eventually.
They repeatedly admit their approach is survivor first.

people use Steve and Nancy, but not most of their perks except Inner Strength sometimes. Demogorgon is mostly a pay to lose character, so he's not too common. especially since he requires more setup than any of the other trap-based killers, yet gets no speed increase or anything to compensate.
and the death of Ruin will worsen this.
-
Only if it frustrates new survivors.
-
they have literally said they are survivor biased multiple times, including in the post where they explained their reasoning for the ruin and Doc nerfs.
-
This killer is playing Spider-Man and Civ 6 instead at the moment.

No one's going to want to pick up killer and survivor wait times will keep climbing, even veterans are leaving. It seems to be something nobody considered
It's already happening. Wait times have already worsened as a survivor, and matchmaking is already FAR worse as a killer. Which continues to drive more killers off, which worsens wait times and matchmaking further, worsening the cycle.
-
Yeah I attempted a few games out of curiosity. Managed to get 2 in an hour. Looks like I'm not the only killer who's leaving.
-
No, the real issue is that when a killer at high rank gets 2 kills, he likely had to sweat and stress the whole time just to get that. so it wasn't fun. Killer is far too stressful, particularly because gens go too fast above rank 12 or so, and also looping is an absurd and tedious mechanic.
-
not nearly as much as survivors. they're buying way more due to the fact they can see their cosmetics. anyone playing the game can see that. Incredibly, they especially like buying the brightly colored cosmetics that make the game harder for them. So it's not surprising they're destroying Doc and Ruin specifically to make the game easier for new survivors, in their own words.
-
At the moment, yes it is. Killers are leaving due to frustration with seriously flawed mechanics, which harm them more overall. This leads to a shortage, screwing up matchmaking, which frustrates killers more, and so on.
-
No. That’s why killers avoid ranking up, leading to huge rank disparity, leading to killers being even more likely to avoid rank, and so on.

Then the mori should be another button. Sometimes I want to M1 a survivor close by, however the game takes priority on the slugged survivor starting the mori animation. This often costs a hit already. If you are stucked the entire mori animation that survivor is gone for free
They need to assign certain functions to more buttons in general. It's absurd that 6 buttons on my comptroller's face do nothing. Is it a holdover from pc control limits or something?

sigh I'm really hoping the cooldown gets looked at its the number 1 thing that kills legion for me
For me, it's getting stunned for missing. Absurd. Especially since most misses are due to framerate issues.
-
people have said it pretty clearly here alreayd, except they miss one point: when Clown throws a bottle, he gets the same speed reduction as a survivor affected by the gas, for the same duration. meaning, if he doesnt improve the power using add ons to strengthen it or add new effects, he doesn't technically have a power.
-
Agreed, especially since it takes only a maximum of 6.4 seconds of progress of the generator.
Although I probably still wouldn't use it due to that.
-
They should stop the timer slowdown from being hooked or slugged. Survivors already have it easier than killers with their objective talking 80 seconds, they don't need another crutch.
-
It's now well established that survivor mains can get any killer nerfed just by bitching really hard for about 2 months, and challenges within a week.
Once they learned this, they set their sights on nurse first, then Spirit, then the tome challenges, so now they're targeting Billy and Freddy. It's very transparent.
-
It's helpful in getting into position for a flashlight save without alerting the killer before he picks up. The devs are now requiring one flashlight save, which is one of the most difficult things to do in the game, so people start running Urban more.
Get used to it, because tome level 4 requires 2 in one game.

Regular PS4
Doctor: all maps have significant slowdown and framerate drops, all times.Trapper: Played only on Red Forest and The Game. severe framerate drops at all times, practically a slideshow. Especially noticeable when attacking.
Leatherface, all maps: moderate framerate drops.
Myers, all maps: nothing I noticed.
Playing survivor, all maps: haven't noticed anything.
